I’ll give them two stars cause they helped me and then ghosted me. Took my car there to sell after an offer was received at another dealership. Chad was pretty straightforward in telling me that the other dealership (Volvo) would give me more for an outright sell and if I wanted to purchase to call him. On this I say that was a pretty decent thing to do as it was honest and no hassle and the right thing for a salesperson to do. No issues standard stuff. THE NEXT DAY! I sell my car to Volvo and hit up Chad for some questions about inventory. He responds and says he will check them out. I do a follow up text a few hours later and Chad states “ Looking into it now. Think they are going through service. It will be a few days if so. Texting the manager about them now.” Then you guessed it… cricket’s. I follow up and ask if there is any update and nothing. Fast foreword a little bit. I give benefit of the doubt that cars in service going into Labor Day Weekend. I call the dealership and I explain that I’m looking for a car and was informed that it was sold. Nothing against the dealership and with it being sales, I’m not mad the car sold and I didn’t get it. It’s business and I’ve worked sales before so I know it’s a roll of the dice. However, being ghosted with no follow-up on questions, additional help or anything? Like if the car sold that’s fine you can tell me but nothing at all? That’s bad business. Can’t speak on the dealer as a whole but I can say avoid chad and I took my business elsewhere as a precaution.

Came to pick up wife's car after service and my Toyota Sienna's Cd player was making a noise. Asked Matt to take a listen and he brought over a technician to diagnose it. Cannot beat this level of service. Added value. UPDATE: Four years later and still receiving great service from Modern Toyota. And, yes, the CD player works perfectly.

I don't normally leave reviews, but Modern Toyota's exceptional customer service deserves praise! I began driving here from Greensboro after purchasing a new Toyota and receiving a warranty on service, but I started to also bring my older Toyota since the service was so good. I normally ask for Dwayne because he's friendly, honest about what service is needed, and gets stuff done--he sets the bar high for customer service! Rob A. assisted me this time and he did not disappoint. He immediately asked me if I needed a rental car. I declined and decided to wait for what he estimated would be 2 hours. He had everything done in 1 1/2 hours. That's what great service is about: over-estimating and out-performing. The coffee bar was a great treat, too! Amy R. is a great, no-pressure salesperson here if you're looking to purchase.

My experience was great from start to finish. Great staff and extremely personable. I walked away with more than I anticipated or expected and am truly enjoying my 2021 Toyota Camry. My daughter is in Med School at Wake Forest, so far from her hometown in Minnesota. I always worry about her safety and people being honest and fair with her. Modern Toyota literally made me smile knowing how honest, considerate, and helpful they were to my daughter leasining a new vehicle. Usually, Dad (me) would take care of everything for her as she is swamped studying every day. But Modern Toyota could not have done more to make it easy for her and even make me happy. The trade-in value was exceptional, the new car pricing required zero negotiation (and I love to negotiate), but mostly, they operated with the utmost professionalism and integrity. The Sales professional, Chad, was the best I have work with across all my years. He kept me updated, worked around my daughter's schedule, and made sure that everything worked out. I would recommend buying a vehicle from Chad with 100% trust! Susan in Finance made everything easy and was very accurate and professional. I have never left a review on a car dealership in the past, but I literally have never had such a positive experience like we did with Chad at Modern Toyota.

bought my tacoma 1 year ago. the truck has been outstanding. however, buying the truck was terrific. the salesperson, Niven B, was straightforward and honest. he gave me true information and did his best to get me what I wanted on the truck, even though toyota has limits on their options to packages. I have been back 4 times for routine service and every time the service department has done a great job. my last toyota went 345,000 miles, and expect this one to do the same.

They handled that issues quickly. Juston my services specialist was attentive and listened to my ever concern, my 10,000 Toyota Care service was outstanding. I look forward to my next visit to Modern and hopefully I get a chance to thank Ms. Newberry, for her attention to the folks waiting and helping make their wait a pleasant experience. The refreshments were great, your choice of coffee, tea, hot chocolate, water and cokes. Last week I wanted to purchase a Toyota Avalon. The sales manager refused to negotiate a reasonable price. I offered two thousand dollars less than the sticker price. He never counteroffered. He never spoke to my wife and I. The manager spoke through the salesman. ( Mo Hafez). It's unfortunate because I saw they lowered the price on the same vehicle. By the way the Avalon is a 2014 certified vehicle. No one ever called me back or attempted to accommodate me. I'm in the market to buy an Avalon but I guess Modern doesn't want my business. Overall bad experience.

They told not to worry and they would take care of everything. 45 mins later my husband and I was driving out in a certified Camry, they also arranged for my trade to be picked up from my house. Car buying is always a breeze. Service and body shop both damaged my vehicle in first service at the dealership. Service cracked my windshield and body had a collision into a wall. David Miller in finance (personal friend) located a new vehicle for me and worked a fabulous deal. Andrew Robinson has worked with me both of my car buying transactions and is just wonderful!

First class service for repairs to my 1999 Toyota Truck, thanks especially to Mr. Rene` Lugaro for his excellent advice for repairs, his estimate for cost, his timely contact with me, his professional conduct throughout the entire process while under pressure to service other customers. Mr. Lugaro had my complete trust with the care and service of my vehicle. I came in for only routine service...Rene` was alert to a number of maintenance problems that I should have done months ago, he arranged for me to see first hand the extent of the repairs, he developed a cost estimate that was accurate and well defined. These repairs will allow me to extend the life of my vehicle for some time. I do hope to trade-up someday and I am confident that Mr. Lugaro will be my first contact at Modern Toyota. Please also extend my thanks to Tim Steiner for his professional services in the development of the repairs necessary. Thanks also to Ginger Newberry for her help in ushering me thru the entire process. My fiance needed a good, dependable car and "Yota's" are well known for their dependability. After a string of crooked dealers (who shall remain nameless) we finally found a great deal in Modern Toyota. We decided on a silver 2011 Prius. The awesome Gopal was our sales man. He gave us a great deal and very low interest rate. He's an honest man who made sure that everything was right for us.He still helps us when we need help and did everything we asked him to. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience yesterday with Mr. Shawn Elliott as I purchased a 2016 Toyota Highlander. As soon as we figured out that we were both huge UNC Tarheel fans...well the rest was history! Mr. Elliot was kind, courteous, and very knowlegeable about his product! I have never written a review before, but the experience my wife and I had buying a Tundra from Niven Bayer at Modern Toyota needs recognition. His no pressure and patience made the experience enjoyable. His diligence and hard work, with the help of the management was able to meet and exceed my every expectation. They found me a vehicle with the necessary equipment and price. He also spent time explaining and showing how the electronic features work on our new Platinum Tundra after the sale was complete. MO Mohamed is the BEST Salesman ever! We had the BEST experience with him as our Salesman ever. He is friendly, fun, honest, and original. I was reluctant at first about purchasing another vehicle. Best sales experience I have ever had!!! When we first arrived I have to admit that I was a little skeptical about speaking with a salesperson. Shortly after our arrival Mo showed up and we hit it off instantly. The whole time I was very comfortable and did not feel pressured at any time. All of the staff at Modern Toyota was very fun, friendly and provided a light atmosphere. This helped tremendously since I had my daughter with me, who LOVES attention. Lastly, the price was exactly where it should be for the vehicle I chose. I was not hassled or pressured by anyone about anything during the whole experience. Lastly, closing the deal was icing on the cake, as it was quick, painless and just as friendly as the sales experience. We had even been there for two and a half hours after close of business, and everyone was still patient and friendly towards us. No one once gave the impression that we needed to hurry up so they could go home. I will definitely be coming back here to purchase another vehicle in the future. Mo does business like Mobody's business!! ;-)

My husband and I had an amazing, best busying experience anyone can have at Toyota Dealership this past Saturday. It was our second time seeing our favorite Sales person Mr. Gopal Chandarana. As always he was honest, courteous, friendly and very knowledgeable. We initially wanted to trade our Camry but decided to finance a new car since our second car was giving problems. Gopal went above and beyond in his job and went over with several other options that can fit in our budget. He explained and answered all our questions and concerns in a friendly yet very professional manner. Finance Sales manager Mr. Daniel Derrick was extremely helpful during the paperwork process and explained complicated terms in a very easy lingo while maintaining a very friendly atmosphere that made us so comfortable doing our business with them. Toyota Facility is very clean and very kids friendly. We left the dealership happily of not only getting an amazing deal but with a great peace of mind. It was the best car buying experience anyone can have from looking at different options with Gopal Chandarana till going through financing process with Daniel Derrick. My husband and I came to Toyota Dealership to trade our Camry and upgrade to RAV4. We have met the same Sales person Gopal whom we purchased our first car. As always, Gopal was being honest, extremely helpful, pleasant and friendly throughout the process. Though I had a positive experience a couple of years ago with the purchase of my Prius, I am real tired of the EXTREMELY slow service issue. Now that I am through my 25,000 check, I will use a different service center. The time to get basic oil changes, tire rotations, etc. is always excessive. If you can't get customers in and out more rapidly for basic maintenance then perhaps you need to review your scheduling process. I am afraid that when the service managers ask the technicians to expedite the work because of other customer commitments, the work might not be of the best quality. After all, who checks to verify that the work was does correctly?

Took my 2013 Corolla S in because the airbag light was on. Justin Williams the service advisor explained that a part in the seat belt malfunctioned and caused the light to come on. He ordered the part and said they would call and set up an appointment to fix. It was all covered under warranty. Thanks Justin for taking care of me and my car.

I've bought numerous cars in the past, however, I have to say that this purchase rates number 1! Personal & Professional: ANDREW ROBINSON is awesome! He was not "pushy". He listened to our needs and wants. He found the exact car that I wanted! Practically brand new! It was only missing one thing on my wish list...heated leather seats. Within a few minutes, Andrew had a quote to have leather heated seats installed (I was so surprised at how reasonable it was, which later I found out was that the dealership only charged me what their cost was and wrapped it up into the loan). I brought the car back on Monday, they gave me a rental (interesting, I didn't know that they also had a full car rental service at the dealership) and I had it back by Wednesday morning. The leather seats looked like they were factory and the car was EXACTLY the way I wanted it. Price & Value: The price I saw online was reasonable enough for me to go purchase right off the lot, however, I was expecting to be disappointed in what they were going to give me for trade-in value of my car. They were honest and fair. There was no need to "haggle" (which I was dreading). Financing: I was prepared to get financed through my bank, but the finance manager was able to get us a rate that I was happy with and stay within my payment range. Bottom Line: I do not like making big purchases. It gives me anxiety. I HATE writing reviews and taking surveys! For me to write one of this length, speaks volume. Go see Andrew and crew at Modern Toyota...you won't be disappointed :-)

I recently purchased my second Toyota product from Modern Toyota in Winston Salem. Both purchases, 2011 Camry SE and most recently a 2016 4Runner Trail were without question the two best car purchasing experiences I have had. Both times the salesmen were friendly, knowledgeable and most importantly, not overbearing or pushy. Charlie Simpson handled my 4Runner purchase and was sincere and professional throughout the process. I felt he was as happy to have me as a customer as I was with my new 4Runner! I would highly recommend asking for Charlie if you are looking to purchase from Modern. Today I am in for an oil change and regular 15,000 mile maintenance. Oil changes take a lot longer here than other places but with my warranty I have no choice. Toyota staff is always very friendly, there are plenty of seats inside to choose from, they have a children's play area and its surprisingly quiet. All good things that make waiting easy.

When my son began looking for a car, I strongly suggested that he come to Modern because of my previous experience with them. I had purchased my 2013 Corolla from them and I recently looked into the possibility of upgrading to a 2015. Though I did not purchase the 2015, Charlie worked a very long time with me and when I decided not to buy, he put me in touch with a company to install a backup camera on mine. So I brought my son in to see Charlie, knowing that he could probably afford a preowned car, but Charlie worked with us and he was able to purchase a 2015 Yaris. My son decided to give his old car to his sister rather than use it as a trade-in. This was good but he is a chain smoker and my daughter has a grandchild with respiratory problems. Charlie talked with the service department, and I was able to have the ozonator process (to remove the cigarette smell) offered to me free of charge! I will be returning in the spring with a granddaughter who is ready to purchase a car.

Took over 3 hrs to change oil, rotate & balance tires. Every time I went to where my car was being serviced they would shut the garage door so I could not see what they were doing on the car. However, every time I could get a look, no one was working on it. When I complained to the service mgr that it was taking very long, within 10 mins the car was ready, so I don't know what if anything was being done on the car.

I actually came to Modern Toyota not really knowing what to expect. I had the desire and the hope but was not sure I was going to get a car. I had the best experience, with Gopal Chandarana and Brad McAdams. I was honest with Gopal and Brad and they made sure that I hope and desire for a vehicle happened. Not only did I get a car it was a brand new 2016 Camry. This experience exceeded my expectations. I left feeling a sense of accomplishment and pride, because of these two fine gentlemen. He was there on his day off and instead of trying to steal business from someone else he took the time to find another salesman to help us. My wife and I arrived at opening on Monday. I was looking for a particular car that I had seen on the lot. Within five minutes of arriving, Sales & Leasing Consultant, Mo Hafez, greeted my wife and I. We test drove the car we were there to see. The car was a bit smaller than anticipated. Next to the car we were originally interested in was an Infiniti G37. This car was more of what my wife and I were looking for. Since this wasn't the specific car we were there to see, we test drove three additional vehicles to make certain that we made the right decision. In total, we test drove five vehicles. Mo was very patient and stayed very positive through the entire process. My wife and I narrowed it down to two cars. We ended up purchasing the G37 and we purchased the car for less than we expected on getting it for, (Thank you Mo and Modern Toyota). Overall experience was fantastic! I definitely recommend Modern Toyota. If you want a sales person that is patient, positive and not pushy, ask for Mo Hafez.

The salesman did not follow through with a promise. He ruined the whole experience for me in getting a newer car. If you say you will do something I believe you should follow through or at least try to make it right. It may have seemed minor to him but it is the principle of it to me. He made a decision for me without consulting me and got an attitude that it was my fault and blamed it on other departments. He either lied to me or someone else lied to him, but he could have checked it out, but the papers were signed and he had his sale. The financial and warranty personnel were excellent.

My son needed a reliable used car. I own a Toyota Highlander and love Modern Toyota so I took him there and Nancy Smith helped us. He had her bring a used Honda from another lot which she did in a timely manner. She showed us the car fax on it and a couple more, going over all the details on all of them. We choose one on your lot. On taking it home a few problems came up and Nancy went out of her way on two different days to take care of the problems. I feel she went far and more out of her way to make sure we were happy and the work was done when the time was best for me. I have a handicap sister that lives with me that I care for so she made sure I didn't have to go out of my way to get this work done. She sent a company to the house to replace the windshield, so as to make it easier on me. The buying process was fast and easy and the repairs was also, the best I have EVER had. Having a female sales person I felt I was treated as a equal also. Nancy Smith is the Best and love Modern.

We came to Modern Toyota on July 7th and had a wonderful experience. The lady at the Welcome Desk, Johnnie, was smiling and happy to see us when we entered, unlike some of the other welcome people at other dealerships. She immediately called a sales person, who being tied up, went out and found Dan Santarelli to help us. Dan immediately put us at ease and listened to our wants. He went and secured the vehicle we had seen online for a test drive. Dan let us look the vehicle over and then went on a test drive with us. Dan's easy going temperament fit with our family. He answered all our questions and told us things we would be interested in. He directed us where to go on the test drive which was long enough for us to get a good feel for the vehicle. When we got back he answered more questions and knowing we were really interested he made sure the vehicle was secured for us until we had to think about everything and get back to him. Overall a wonderful experience from everyone we met. On July 8th, my wife came back, Daniel found better financing for us than we had previously arranged, Dan helped her navigate through all the paperwork and helped make the experience pleasant with me not there. I would rather get teeth pulled than go through a car buying experience in the past,now I am not so sure, I deal in customer service daily and I want to thank Modern Toyota for the wonderful experience my family had here.

Dan Santarelli was very patient with all my questions and understood why I was asking them...he answered what he could and when he couldn't, he went and got the person who was able to help me. I bought a used car, and with most used cars, not everything was perfect...I had a list of a few things I wanted fixed...little things like back speakers in-op & replacing an emblem on the car hood...Dan addressed all the items on the list. One of the best things I liked about dealing with Modern Toyota is the fact they have a no-charge 1 month, 1,000 mile limited bumper to bumper warranty with all used cars (under 100k miles). Really made me feel comfortable about buying a used car. Everyone worked hard to help me with this deal (I traded in a car). Meghan the receptionist, Dan my Sales rep, Mike the Sales Manager, Ricky & Mason in service and David & Judy in Financing are some of the most friendly &, professional people I have ever met and it has truly been a pleasure working with you all. :) Thanks for helping get my Vette :) Note - There were repairs but I can't answer yet about the quality because I'm typing this as they are bringing the car around....system made me choose something, choose N/A.....but if the repairs are handled as well as every other part of this car buying experience, then I'm sure it will be excellent as well!

There are lots of nice cars typical to the one we just purchased, but we come from a family of those who have had Corollas that last well over 200,000 miles. Today, 6-15-15 made my second car buying experience with Modern Toyota. We recently took that inevitable step most families take when faced with having two small children and the prospect of needing to visit family out of state multiple times a year. Thats right; we bought a minivan (swagger wagon). It was a bitter sweet decision. We made a list of pros and cons and after a lot of debate the only con we ended up listing was: van. Now for the hard part; which van to buy. Conducting our due diligence, we talked to friends that had already joined the van club and read countless articles about reviews and ratings. We narrowed our choices down to two and visited the respective dealerships. Our second stop brought us to Modern Toyota of Winston Salem. I cannot speak highly enough of our experience. We met Daniel, who I will refer to as an automobile advisor, as sales-man doesn't do him justice. The entire process was top notch. I actually enjoyed purchasing our new vehicle from start to finish. Bought a 2013 Honda Crosstour from Gopal. This was my second purchase from Gopal at Modern Toyota in Winston-Salem. The reason for requesting him was simple: I knew he would provide me with the same professional yet friendly and accommodating experience I had the first time around. He is always courteous, professional and flexible to the clients needs. In this case it meant going the extra mile needed for the little delay in the cash payment and considering the car sold and gave the car for our use from day one. I did not need to negotiate the price since I had done my homework, for the second time, and already knew the car was priced fairly and I could not get a better deal from any other dealer. In fact by 'fair' I mean at the lowest end of the scale found on any site for a similar car. Modern Toyota is fair, accommodating and provides the best service one can hope for. In addition, the first car has never given me a single issue and all signs point to the same situation this time. The car is immaculate and as new although a 2013 model. For friendly and professional service I know you can't go wrong with asking for Gopal when you go to Modern Toyota to buy your car.

Today I spent 15 minutes on the phone trying to get a quote on replacing my rear drum brakes. I was routed from showroom sales to parts to service back to showroom and then back to service. When I told service I would NOT allow them to re-route my call again, the woman responded $250 (without asking me year, make, model of car). When I asked if that price included turning the drums - she said "Oh, you have drums - not rotors?" I then told her that I had a 2006 Scio XB - but she was not familiar with it. I was put on hold for a 6th time, when she finally came back and said that she spoke to Tommy (the manager) and he was not sure either but thought it should be about $250. When I then asked what the price was if they had to replace the rotor, she had no idea and said she would have to call parts (7th transfer). I asked for her name as I wanted to complain about the poor customer service - but she refused. Note - when I spoke with the showroom (twice) they blamed the mix up on high volume of calls, short staffing, and lack of training as to which department di what. As we were speaking a live chat popped up on my computer...so I related this story and was told a manager would call me back within 15 minutes. Not surprisingly, I have not heard a work. To be honest, it doesn't make a difference as Modern Toyota is so inefficient and unfriendly that it is obvious that customer service is the lowest priority. Who would want to take their car there for repairs? And, I certainly would not buy one from them either...I've had four Toyotas (all bought while I lived in Raleigh for 20 years) and never had a problem. Modern Toyota is a horror story. Now I know why everyone at WFU talks negatively about them.

My husband and I were looking to purchase a g37. The dealer had exactly what we were looking for and offered a discount for my husband working at a hospital. Since the car was an hour and a half from us we decided to call and see how much of a discount it would be since the car was a little about our price range. We have called twice and each time the rep has told us that they would call us back in 10 minutes. The first time we called they told us the car was selling for $5000 more then what the sale price was listed online and then told us that they would discount it to the price listed. When we told them that the second price was what was listed online the rep told us he would speak to a manager and call us back. We never were called back. We called again this morning and was told they would call us back as well. Since we have not gotten a call back and it has been two hours we will be buying a car elsewhere. I think it is very unprofessional to not call, we also left both our numbers so there should be no reason they can not reach us. Very disappointed.

We recently purchased a 2015 Highlander (AWD, Limited+Platinum) from Modern. Michael Sutton supported the purchase process. Our experience was positive because of the following reasons: 1. Michael was by far the most knowledgeable on the product that we experienced - and I had a large sample size to draw from. We drove or sat in: Yukon XL, Buick Enclave, Acura MDX, Nissan Pathfinder, Mazda CX-9, Infiniti QX60, Honda Pilot, Audi Q7, Mercedes GL450, Ford Expedition - I think that was it. 2. Purchase price was fair. I am sure that if I had wanted to make a bigger deal of negotiation, we could have saved a few hundred dollars. I did compare at a few other Toyota dealers and the discount was comparable. 3. I did not feel pressured to buy. 4. Michael and his manager took a chance to get the color combination we wanted (Shoreline blue/ash interior) on the premises, with no commitment or deposit from me to buy. Having said that, the day it arrived is the day we agreed to buy. 5. Michael understood that the buyer was my wife and dealt with her as the primary customer. I recommend Michael Sutton and Modern Toyota.

My wife and I were in the process of trying to both find new vehicles. We went to a few dealerships and let me just say that from beginning to end our experience has been as stress free and convenient as I have ever had. It started with their Internet Sales Rep Ashley Hill being very responsive via email thoughout my first day with providing very good information and having a sales manager ready to greet us at the door when we arrived. From there Ricky Lewis set us up with Dan and I cannot speak highly enough of him. There were no games and Dan listened to what we wanted and needed instead of trying to convince us of what we may need or want. There was little to no pressure from Dan and he was able to get us in both of the cars we wanted at the prices we wanted. I have never had such an easy process from negotiations to paperwork. These guys still provide the classic customer service we all want.

I just purchased a 2013 Venza from Modern. It was a easy, relaxed and even enjoyable at times. It was nothing like the stereotypical car buying experience. I had an amazing team of knowledgeable, respective, and friendly employees. It started in internet sales with Ashley, who gathered the information and what i was looking for. She kept my constantly updated, and prepared me for when i went into the dealership. When i arrived Marcy showed me the Venza and allowed me to take it to where my wife was working for her to see. When i returned she and Yates went over the details of financing and other features of the car and benefits of the dealership. I have been considering buying my 2nd Prius from Modern Toyota for quite a few months now. I wanted to buy from Modern because of their competitive pricing and stellar customer service (both in the past and presently). Today I was in the area and called 3 minutes (literally) before showing up at the dealership. I was met at the door by Gopal Chandarana. He was very friendly and inquisitive. After hearing my thoughts, he quickly started the car buying process. After a short time, Lonnie V. (didn't catch his full last name) came over to discuss my trade in and financing. His approach was a very straightforward one. He clearly communicated the various options that Modern could offer. While Lonnie V. was working to make the deal happen, Mr. Chandarana took me out to the car I was buying and showed me the different options and assisted me in pairing my iPhone with the car. This is my 2nd car buying experience with Modern Toyota. I highly recommend this dealership. Also, I recommend asking for Gopal Chandarana and/or Lonnie V. Both were friendly, professional, and clear. They are clearly an asset to the Modern team. With that said, everyone I have come into contact with over the past 4 years (sales AND service at Modern) have maintained the same level of professionalism that both of these guys have shown today.

Three weeks after my 2014 purchase I needed to take it in for a noise I heard coming from rear. Gopal put me in a rental so that I could go about business as usual. I have purchased several cars in the past new and used and I have to say the customer service and prompt attention I received at Modern Toyota was Class Act. My wife and I purchased a newer used vehicle a little over a week ago. Some issues came up that needed to be repaired. My wife called the service department to make an appointment to bring in the car and arrange for a rental. The man she spoke to was condescending and dismissive of her. She alerted me to this and I called and spoke to a receptionist at the service desk. She was quite sympathetic to my complaint and assured me that if we brought our vehicle in for repairs, all would be taken care of, and that she would inform the manager of my wife's experience. When we showed up at Modern Toyota to drop off our car, we were met with cold indifference and even skepticism. "Had we been there before?" etc. Apparently these people don't know how to use a database--or simply don't care enough to bother. I clearly stated that we just bought the car from them over a week ago. When we asked for (what we thought) was our pre-arranged rental, our service associate had to discuss it (with what I guess) was the service manager. We stood in the cold and watched these men for a few minutes as they occasionally looked our way. The associate wandered over to us and told us to go inside to the rental desk. End of conversation. When we arrived at the rental desk, the women "working" behind the counter sucked on lollipops and loudly gabbed on about their personal lives. Our receptionist had what appeared to be her school work on the counter. She too was indifferent if not irritated by our apparent disruption of the conversation. As she fumbled with the paper work, the other women continued their loud conversation. I had to SHOUT my phone number to this woman because the babble was so loud. As she grabbed our rental key from the rack, she mumbled under breath: "this should be fun." She walked out to the car with complete indifference to my wife and I trailing behind. She quickly circled the car, handed me the key, and walked back inside without saying a word...only to come back to the car to quickly tell us how to start the new Prius rental. My wife and I were so horrified with the poor attitude and general dysfunction of the service and rental departments, we sat in the rental for about 10 minutes debating who would be the first to go inside and demand to speak to someone in charge. I suggested that such poor customer service is probably just as much a reflection of those employees as it was of their superiors. Clearly there is no basic oversight or protocols for customer service. It would be a waste of our time and energy to even attempt it. So, the next best thing is to spread the word as far and as loud as possible: DO NOT give Modern Toyota your business. Even if their prices and inventory are competitive. Go somewhere else. Anywhere else.

I came from Tennessee while visiting my daughter to get a car, and I was prepared to walk away if it was not as advertised and guaranteed by email. Michael Sutton was my salesman and Steve Bryan was the Sales Manager. Both were outstanding, knowledgeable, and very helpful. No high pressure sales techniques, they just filled my order with no problems. I am 69 years old, a "car nut", and have purchased a lot of cars in my life. This was by far the best buying experience I have ever had. I have had two Toyota Prius cars in the past. Both were outstanding. Sold the first at 145,000 miles. I should have kept it. This time I traded in a 2008 Prius with only 45,000 miles. That sucker was like new. My wife and I decided we just wanted a new Prius V. It was easier to transport our two greyhounds around with. The only problems I have ever had with any Prius is the normal vehicle battery being replaced (not the drive battery). We did not even replace the brakes. These cars are outstanding and bullet proof. Got regular gas milage of 38 to 57, with about 42 being the average. I learned not to jack-rabbet start and got great gas milage after that. These cars are a bargain and worth much more that you pay for them.

Purchased new at Modern Toyota . The first offer on my trade-in was laughable but we got closer. Be prepared with your price and walk if it does not seem right. It was an ok buying experience but I was ready.The follow-up details surprised me. I was told my insurance would be notified. Found out over 3 days after driving home after a check with my agent that they were not and my agent was not surprised. I also had to call about the license plates not showing up and they acted like they were just getting to it and the attitude on the phone was as if I was an annoyance. Having just spent several thousands I did not appreciate it. First experience with this dealership is not off to a good start but time will tell. Small things but wanted to share for others to make note.

I saw an ad for a 2011 Explorer Limited, called the dealership and immediately got a good feeling about Modern. Very friendly and forthcoming with information, so I decided to drive the 100 miles the next day. Had a 2005 Acura TL I was thinking about trading and within 60 minutes, was on my way back home with the Explorer, as Modern made me a fair trade offer and the Explorer was well priced. Terri Roberts was the sales person and Steve Barton the used car manager, and both were a delight to work with. But, the story doesn't stop there. On the way home, I noticed the auto park feature wasn't working properly. I was traveling the next day and dropped it off at my local Ford dealer, where they discovered the front bumper had been replaced and the wiring was done improperly. I called Modern and they weren't aware of the bumper replacement, as the previous owner didn't disclose it. They offered to pick it up, leave me with a loaner, and have it repaired. The local dealership did the repair instead and Modern reimbursed me within a couple days. Best dealership experience I've ever had and wouldn't hesitate to work with the Modern family of dealerships in the future. First class people, first class customer service!

After spending a week working with another dealer to get our new Venza (and four failed attempts), we were fed up and made a phone call to Modern Toyota. They were able to quickly locate the Venza we desired, and went and got it for us over the weekend. Not only did they match the price, but they also threw in a few extras to ensure our satisfaction. As a car enthusiast, I knew from the start what car I wanted from the Toyota/Scion dealership. I ventured to Greensboro, Charlotte, and in High Point and was honestly truly unhappy with the way I was treated. Eventually I came to Toyota and was greeted by a truly exceptional young woman known as Terri. She instantly came up and introduced herself and asked what my name was - something that had yet to be done at the other dealers. She was extremely well versed about any of the cars we asked about, specifically the FR-S. She could name any minor thing about the engine, the interior, the radio...anything! On top of that, she was absolutely wonderful to work with and I HIGHLY recommend her to anyone who is looking to buy a car!

I have enjoyed the car buying process through Toyota. From the time I expressed interest via Toyota's website through the closing process, the experience has been nothing but the BEST. It took about 15 minutes for Ms. Courtney to call me from the Internet Sales Department and she helped me locate a car that fit my criteria. Dan Santarelli then took over and made sure the vehicle that I finally decided on met my economic immediate, and future needs. I could not have asked for a better experience. By the way, I expressed interest in a vehicle through Parkway Ford; after contact with 2 car lots, test driving the car I liked, 1 application and 7 hours later, I still have not received a call back from the consulting department!

Our 2010 Prius Four has 40,010 miles. It used 755.1 gal. of gas this =53MPG. Our son-in-law has a 2010 Prius Four with 80,000 highway miles he gets 49 MPG. These are great cars with room and power. Its great to have a car that will get the MPG that the window sticker claims. In the summer we get 55 to 56 MPG. Just think 500 miles on 9 gal.of gas. THANKS TOYOTA.

Drove 5 hours after being told a certain deal and the dealer would not back the offer that I received. The trip costed me quite a bit of money and the dealership would not honor their deal after we arrived. We were told the deal and lied to when we got there. I would not recommend this dealer to anyone, anywhere.

I was looking for a Toyota Tacoma to replace my previous Tacoma that was totaled in an accident. My wife and I were looking at purchasing a new 2012 Prius hoping for a good deal and the right color and options. With the assistance of an outstanding sales person, Nancy Smith, we were able to purchase a used 2012 model within our budget and with all the features we were looking for. I spent a lot of time on the internet researching dealerships in our area. I know all of those sales persons saw us because the size of the suv we were in. It must have been everyones lunch time at once. After walking inside of the building we were finally noticed,We thanked the sales person for at the leased noticing we even existed. Then we expressed our interest in a car the whole deal went well, but women being women the misses had a hard time deciding. So the sales person -" Marcy to be exact" stated that we could drive it for thirty days and if we weren't satisfied then we could bring it back. She didn't put any restrictions on that. Just as it was just stated, The twenty six or twenty seventh day rolls around and we decided to return the car, the bank was already notified however an error on their part and the check was sent out without permission. We informed Modern that they were getting the car back because the Misses was unhappy with the performance of the car. However, odern say no we have the check and you signed on the line. Well... the only reason we signed is because the saleslady MARCY said and I quote; " IF YOU ARE NOT HAPPY WITH THE CAR THEN BRING IT BACK , BUT IT'S A NICE CAR SO YOU'LL LIKE IT." She flat out lied to us for a sale, then says she never said that. That is the hurtful part , when she denied her wrong doing and three people heard her say this. Is this what selling cars has come to? One hurt person tells five then those individual five tell five they each know... Get the picture? So now we're stuck with a car we don't want.

Was Shopping for a new Toyota truck for the past 3 weeks. Talked with salesman from 4 different dealerships near Statesville, NC. None of the salesman seemed willing to find the specific truck I was looking for. As I was about to give up and go buy a Nissan Frontier, I sent in a quote request with Modern Toyota. From the moment we walked in to get our car repaired to the moment we walked out with a new car, Dan treated us well. I searched for weeks to find a 2012 Buick Lacrosse Touring with low miles and the options I preferred. I wanted this car because its comfort and available options exceeded that of its competitors. I bought this car without seeing it in person, which makes the second time I have made an online vehicle purchase. My car was totaled in an accident, unfortuniate but Modern Toyota along with Dan Santarelli have been exceptional in taking care of me and getting me back into a new Preius C car. Thanks also to the rental cart service dept. of Modern. They kept me in style driving a rental during this whole process.

My wife and I came to Modern to have a couple of minor issues looked at on her Tacoma. The issues were taken care of quickly and to our satisfaction. However, while we were there, we spoke to our salesman Dan Santatarelli and expressed our concern over the rising gas prices. One thing led to anothe and we are leaving in a brand new RAV4 which gets better gas mileage, and actually lowered our monthly payments which was a nice surprise moving from one 2012 to another 2012. As always Dan made the process a very simple one, and there was no effort or sweating involved. This is now the third Toyota that we have bought from him, and every time he has managed to get us a great deal all the way around. If this was any easier, it would be dangerous!

We drove from Raleigh to Winston-Salem to purchase our new Toyota Prius. After searching various dealers in the area we found the prices here to be the best. In working with Dan Santarelli, our sales person, we found him to be very accomodating to our needs. Dan went out of his way to get us the best price on our trade in, and price on our new car. I like the fact that Dan was a no pressure type of salesman, and just did the best he could do for us.
