Chris Julsrud (spelling) was very helpful regarding the problems that I explained to him about my 2003 Dodge 1500 pick up. Chris is very up to date with helping to solve Chrysler product problems. Chris called me to explain the problem, how to fix it & gave me an estimated price for repair - the repair price was what Chris quoted me - I appreciated his professionalism regarding the repair of my Dodge pick up. I also had another experience with Chris regarding replacing tires on our 2013 Town & Country - the tires Chris recommended was a very good choice. Went to Nelson Auto Center to buy a used mini-van. However, after meeting with Jeff Christenson and having him highlight some of the programs we left with two new vehicles! There were no high pressure sales, just establishing a good understanding of our needs and presenting buying options that would work for us. One of the vehicles we were going to buy in the spring but with the pricing we were offered we decided to buy now. Everyone we met with during our buying process were very helpful and courteous. I had been searching a new car for 6 weeks. I had driven a 2016 Escape and a 2016 Cadillac. I really wanted a gold color and recently found out that it was a new color for Escape 2017. I figured I would have to wait for awhile for good incentives. I was wrong. Did searches last night looking for the exterior and interior colors I wanted. I was thrilled to find it so close at Nelsons. Was welcomed when I entered the door, drove the Escape, Jim answered my questions. We discussed the price until I thought it was fair. We finished the process, and to my surprise I drove my new car home! Everyone I talked to were great! Very helpful. I'm so glad I was able to find the car I wanted within 30 miles from home!! I will go there first next time!! Highly recommend.

I brought my 2010 Dodge Ram 2500 with 52,000 miles in for a new clutch as the factory one was not strong enough to pull my 32ft loaded trailer. An after market heavy duty clutch was installed in a reasonable amount of time. No heavy duty clutch is offered by Chrysler Corp. for my Dodge. I am extremely satisfied with product & service from Nelson Motors.

The vehicle surpassed my expectations and knew it was the one. I started with a different dealership, but they wanted to talk at me. So, I called Nelson Auto Center where my sister and brother in law had bought vehicles. I shared with James Boid that I was looking for a Jeep Renegade and that there were certain features I was looking for in my Jeep. James listened and took notes. I went to test drive the car that evening and James was great. He listened to me, he listened to what was important to me about the vehicle, then he went to the phones and internet and found me the perfect Jeep for me. I swear I did not tell him all the features I wanted, but when he told me about the jeep he found - it has all the features on my wish list. James was great teaching me about some of the new features of the Jeep that I had never used before... like setting up my phone to be hands free, and saving my favorite radio station as a favorite. I have very high standards for customer service so please understand me when I say this that I really mean it: James was wonderful! By the way, I brought my mom with for the test drive and after we left she said she would do business with them too!

The used vehicle I had come to look at was not what I expected, so he showed me several others, including a new 2016 Explorer which had all the features I wanted- for less than the used vehicle.. After agreeing on the trade-in difference and making the deal, Taylor was very thorough and patient in showing me all the features of the new vehicle. He was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions. The only negative was a long wait to see the finance guy to do the paperwork. I would highly recommend Taylor and the dealership to anyone.

I very recently traded pickups, The one I had driven for nearly 9 years for an almost identical truck 4 years newer with low miles and one owner. I've been pricing late model good used pickups on-line for a while now. Nelson's seemed to have the best used prices on all brands and just so happened to have a newer truck very similar to what I've been driving and have been very happy with. In all honesty I don't care for vehicle shopping, especially at car dealers. I will say that Nelson's, and especially salesman Jeff Christianson, treated us well, got down to business, and did the deal with very little hassle or waste of my time. After identifying the vehicle I was interested in purchasing on line, I was a little skeptical if I should risk a sight unseen purchase. However, I have to say it was a great experience with Nelson Auto Center. I worked with Dean, one of Nelson's sales consultants. Dean provided excellent customer service, answering all of my questions and providing additional photos to ensure I was comfortable with the condition of the 2008 F150 Lariat. Living over 800 miles away from the dealership I made arrangements to fly into Fargo, ND to purchase the vehicle. Nelson provided a driver to pick me up and take me to the dealership (nearly an hour away) at no charge. The vehicle was exactly as Dean had described, better in fact. Nelson had all of my paper work in order to expedite the sales process in order for me to begin my 12 hour trek home. I am so impressed with the service I will definitely consider purchasing another vehicle from Nelson.

My experience with Nelson Ford was close to awesome. I have purchased many new vehicles in the past and I am frugal, so I do my homework and work the numbers to my best. The number game is definitely in the dealerships favor, however I felt that Nelson Ford was mostly transparent, honest and worked quickly down to a true sellable amount. Aside from one small miss communication, I would say my experience at Nelson was the best buying experience of all past purchases. I bought a Ford Escape from Travis at Nelson after searching Escape's at a few other places. Travis listened to what I wanted in a vehicle and did what he could to give me a great deal. The financing and buying process was made so easy all I had to do was give my information and show up to sign the paperwork. I was in and out in less then an hour. It was nice that windshield wiper fluid was added to my vehicle too. Thank you. I'm unsure how much of the inside of the car is part of a basic service, like an oil change. So thank you in advance for the part that is I like it. I thought it was just the front seat area and "if" that is correct it was done, but just at a neutral level. You probably provide a checklist in the paperwork that is provided with the bill so my apologies if I missed that. Another idea is to provide a checklist that you could put dominantly in the car? Say on the wheel with say a small piece of candy to say this is what is part of the service you selected and this is what was completed. Just ideas to ponder. Not too long prior, when I brought my car in for an auto body repair some of the parts were left unfinished in my car, but when pointed out it was rectified politely. I was also unaware of what a touch up for paint chips entailed and was disappointed with the result, but was informed that this is how they handle paint chips. Again, I don't know if that is part of being uninformed/informed and expectations aligning. Again just thoughts. Even though I have to drive a 1/2 hour, I like coming to your store and am impressed with the service. Staff are polite and professional. I would return. Thank you!

I can't tell you how much I appreciate the excellent service that I received when I brought my car in for an oil change. Everyone with whom I came in contact was friendly, courteous, and helpful. I did not have an appointment so I really didn't anticipate that I would get immediate service, but I did. Not only did the service department change the oil, they did some recall work, did a thorough "check-up" on my vehicle, topped off some fluids, washed my car and left some treats in my car with their business card. We were traveling thru from Texas to Canada. Our schedule was very tight for a meeting. Our sprinter van RV developed an extreme vibration over the rear axle on every tar patch. I could write a novel about how great my experience was buying my car at Nelson Auto Center, but I'll spare you your time and, instead, just highlight some things about my experience. I am 33 and have never before bought a car, so I had LOTS of questions at my initial appointment with my sales consultant, Darren Herman. I knew the exact car I wanted to purchase when I went to my appointment, but had no idea that, by the time I left that day (about an hour and a half spent there), they would have my car lined up for me, though they didn't have the color I wanted in the lot - but they found one in Minneapolis. During this time, the financial department ran my numbers, while Darren answered all my questions about leasing vs. financing, LOTS of them. He is honest, straight-forward, and friendly - not at all the way I expected a car salesman to be. I didn't feel 'pressured' at ANY point during our conversation, and I found that refreshing and comforting. While we were waiting to hear back from the finance department, I snacked on the free popcorn and coffee from the awesome waiting area! Long story short, the next day they picked up my new car from Minneapolis and it was ready for me in the afternoon, and I LOVE it. I signed a lease for the 2015 Ford Focus hatchback, and have been driving it for a week now. I absolutely recommend Nelson Auto for your next car purchase. Everyone who dealt with me and my purchase was super nice, honest, and just awesome - especially Darren and AJ! Thank you guys so much for making me so happy!

I needed a routine oil change and tire rotation plus, my onboard Uconnect computer's vulnerability software installed. All service was done in a timely manner! I had a question regarding a new GPS map update, and while Nelson Auto was unable to provide the update themselves, my service contact, Chris, went out of his way to print out the information I require in order to purchase the needed software and install the map update myself. In addition he fully explained the service to be done and then upon completion, personally ran through a post maintenance summary with me and even ran my car through the dealership's car wash. We recently bought a new car from Nelson's of Fergus Falls (that explains the review, yes?). Our saleman - Brian Quernemoen was excellent overall. He was willing to allow us to test drive several cars over the course of a week and had working knowledge of each. All in all we were very happy working with him and would recommend him to friends. I took a star off for the "Facilities" rating because the building layout is very unusual. Instead of having the entire dealership under one roof, there are multiple buildings which require a bit of back-and-forth during the purchase process. Not a big deal, but an odd choice - especially for the rainy or winter months. Lastly, I knocked off two stars for the "Buying Process" review. When it came to the actual purchase I literally sat in various parts of the dealership for hours with little information regarding what was going on or why I was left waiting. In fact, there were a couple of fairly major failures in communication that held up our purchase simply because nobody would involve us in the process. Ultimately, when we were called in to sign the papers, the gentleman (who I won't single out by name) was rather aggressive about pushing warranty sales. In fact, when I finally refused the warranty for the last time, his comment was "so be it". His sales pitch was, apparently, that the cars they sell are so unreliable that a warranty is mandatory. I thought that was an unusual way to sell a vehicle. Overall we're pleased - and more so with the vehicle itself. Though I wish I would stop receiving multiple emails daily requesting I leave reviews at several websites - as if it wasn't enough that I had just locked into financing on a new vehicle...

We were en route to pick up business goods for return to Canada when we had a problem with our Ford truck. We arrived in town too late to see service people until the next day. Although the work couldn't be started until too late in the day necessitating an extra day's delay in our trip, it was taken care of very well as early as possible the next day and got us back on the road in good shape. I would definitely recommend these folks, and if I should have an issue in this area again I would most certainly count on these people for help.

What stands out most about Travis is his integrity. He will not sell you a car that he wouldn't want his family driving. Great character is rare these days. Sales and service staff are always helpful and welcoming. We spent a lot of time looking around for a used vehicle that would fit our needs and price range. We needed a larger SUV like a Suburban or Expedition/Excursion. The first one we looked at was an Expedition at Nelson's. We liked it but wanted a Suburban more for the extra storage. We then looked at another dealer in Fergus to see what else was out there. The second dealer we went to had a few Suburbans in our price range, but we had to wait for over an hour for someone to help us. They kept saying "just a little longer, we're just finishing up." Finally someone came to help us and brought us a few to look at. They were all filthy inside, one wouldn't shift, one had a check engine light, and the other had over 160,000 miles and was just wore out. The sales staff didn't seem to take us seriously, they seemed more concerned with new car customers that people looking for used. We went back to Nelson's to look at the Expedition again. It was newer and the price was less than Suburbans from the other dealership, not to mention it was nearly spotless inside! Very clean, no odor, it did need some expected maintenance, but all in all it was a great vehicle for a great price. The sales staff at Nelson's were so much nicer than the other dealer we went to. I will continue to return to Nelson's for future purchases and service and won't waste my time at the other place.

I brought my car into Nelson Ford to fix my remote on my car starter. I was starting to have problems getting it to work right. I wasn't sure if it was the remote or needed new batteries. The 1st time I brought my car in they changed the batteries in the remote. After I left the remote wouldn't work at all. I brought it back a 2nd time and it turned out their was a problem with the range on the car starter. I was there for 2 hours waiting and they gave me a new remote for the car starter. The new one I have works great and I'm very pleased. There's a nice sitting area to wait with a TV, toys for children, coffee bar (if you are a coffee lover)& cookies. It's a comfortable place when having to wait for your vehicle.

He advises me of what I should be aware of as far as potential problems. As a master of his craft, Kevin has impressed me with his knowledge of the vintages of the vehicles he works with. In particular, I was having an issue with a battery drain on my 2003 Expedition. When I explained the circumstances surrounding it, Kevin immediately knew what the problem was. Scheduled a test drive with 2 vehicles and Brian Beck had the cars filled up and running for us when we got there. He was friendly, professional, answered our questions and concerns promptly, listened to what we were looking for and did not push us towards vehicles that were out of our price range. I don't usually enjoy the experience of going to a dealership to buy a vehicle. Historically, I've left feeling like I needed a shower from the greasy sales tactics employed by the salesman. From the start, this was different. While waiting for the salesman to retrieve the vehicle we came to look at, we struck up a conversation with a nice gentleman that obviously worked there. By the time the salesman had brought the vehicle up for us to look at, I felt like I'd made a new friend - or reconnected with an old one. Little did I know that this down-to-earth 'employee' was the owner of the facility! After we'd decided to purchase the vehicle, and the salesman was looking over our trade-in vehicle, I happened to glimpse into an office of another employee and we struck up a great conversation over the artwork on her walls. Again, I felt like I'd made a new friend! By the time we left, I'd found out that she the wife of the first gentleman we'd talked to - and the owner of the facility. In addition to the home-town personalities of the owners of Nelson's, the salesman handled himself differently than any other car salesman I've met. There were NO high pressure sales tactics, none of the 'greasy' behaviors I'd come to loathe! He was friendly, to the point, and made sure we understood exactly what we were getting in our new vehicle, as well as giving us a fair trade price for our old one. Although we had arrived later in the day and there were other employees leaving, at no time did we ever feel rushed by our salesman, Darren Herman, or the gentleman who helped us with the financing. In addition to the two owners, the salesman and the gentleman in financing, the other employees we came into contact with were very friendly and asked if they could help us. Overall, the atmosphere of this dealership was a refreshing change from any other I've been at. I'll definitely be back!

Drove to Fergus Falls to buy a pickup, I ended up at Nelson Auto Center... 2 pickup from Nelson. Very nice sales man at Nelson GMC ( Brian Quernemoen ) We drove 2 pickups together, and did a deal on one. Like all dealers they do not pay what your old pickup or car is worth, but that is "normal"... The only downside about dealing with large dealers is the time it takes to get it done, small dealers usually gets it done fairly fast, here it takes a while. I were after 6 pm before I left on a Saturday night, all the involved staff were nice and friendly, even though it were late. I had an good experience this time even though I do not like large dealers, 100% due to Brian.

I showed up and ended up waiting around for 30 minutes for my sales person to finally come out and put gas in the vehicle so I could take it for a test drive. After the test drive sales rep was spotty on input in answering my questions, being a first time buyer I had a lot of questions and was looking for his input on the situation. Then the sales rep ended up disappearing for 30 minutes again while I had to wait around until he showed up again. I would recommend this dealer based on their prices but not on their customer service.

I got a Ford Escape this Summer from Nelson Ford. The sales dept did a fantastic job getting me all set up in the new vehicle. Most recently, I had a problem with the window on a Saturday morning. The service dept in Danville (where I live) was not open so I drove to Martinsville. Tracy and Eric in the Service Dept. gave me exceptional service. First, they were available! I was referred by Nelson Internet sales Ayla, to a sales person, as I wanted to make sure that the person next in line for a drive up customer would be the one to help me with my purchase or lease of a new car.. The words I used was that the sales person should get the commission for being the one helping me...I was called by Dean Anderson, within minutes. When I arrived at Nelson auto center, Dean Anderson was watching for me, and had the two cars I had said that I would be interested in choosing from located up front, parked side by side close to the front door. Dean Anderson greeted me, by name..Very powerful move. I traded my 2002 Ford Explorer Sport Trac and when the Car Fax was run it showed that it was in an accident at around 10,000 miles so my trade in was not worth as much. But now I see it on Nelson's web site for twice of what they gave me for trade in value and no mention of damage. My sales person Darren was very good and I like him but to try and sell my trade in for twice what I got for it and not disclose the damage that it had is not right.

I was returning from Fargo to St. Paul with my son around 5:30pm when my 12 year old Saturn VUE gave up the ghost - my long suffering CVT transmission finally gave out after 203,000 miles. I managed to get off of the freeway at the Fergus Falls exit. I searched my phone for auto service and found Nelson Auto Center. They connected me to a local towing service (Beyer Body Shop Towing - who promptly and professionally towed me to the Nelson service and repair garage - kudos to them too.). I had been passively shopping for a Ford Escape over the last 6 months anticipating this moment. As luck would have it, Nelson Auto Center is a Ford dealer (in addition to other makes). I assumed that my Saturn would cost more to repair than it was worth so I needed to figure out a way to get home to St. Paul. I decided to check their inventory of slightly used Escapes and found one that fit my criteria. Even though it was getting late in the day, Travis Hopkins met me with a courteous smile and asked if he could help. I explained that I hadn't planned on buying a car that day but my situation put me in a position to consider buying one. I essentially gave up all of my negotiating leverage yet I felt that I was still being treated fairly and honestly. I test drove the Escape (even though I had test driving one several months prior). I decided I wanted to purchase the vehicle. Travis was open and honest about the price they needed for the vehicle. He and his team also gave me a little bit of $ on my trade-in vehicle that had been towed. I inquired about the ability to finance a portion of the vehicle. Elliot Thompson helped me through that. By now it was after 8pm. Travis and Elliot were patient and understanding and supportive throughout the process. They also talked me through the follow up steps of licensing and payments in clear and supportive manner. I honestly had never heard of Nelson prior to that day, but I will not forget them any time soon. I really dread purchasing vehicles, but they made it easy and convenient. Thank you (oh - and I love the Escape)! I have no buyer's remorse.

He then arranged for delivery of the vehicle four hours away for a very reasonable fee, cutting my travel time from 16 hrs to a much more comfortable 8. Upon seeing the vehicle for the first time (bought sight unseen except for pix), it was truly better than I could have hoped. My wife and I had been looking for a nice used truck for 4 door truck and had a budget in mind. We had been to local dealers and kept getting spun into something that we really didn't want. We happened to be traveling to the area to visit family and decided to check out what Nelson might have. We were first greeted with by a very friendly sales professional, Dave Johnson. Dave listened to us and looked thru his list and found a few options for us. We test drove one and ruled it out. Dave showed another that initially was priced a little higher than we wanted but we saw the value in that truck as well. Dave let us drive the truck that evening and we returned it the next day. That was the icing on the cake, talk about no pressure! Dave wanted us to be sure we were comfortable with it and he definitely gave us the time to think about it. A few days later the truck was delivered to us by Nelson's (200 miles to the east) with fresh spring snow on the ground, we had our "new" family truck home. I normally despise car shopping as it always has been in the past a hassle and I have never had much luck with the sales agent taking me serious being a female. This was not the case at Nelson! Travis was amazing and straight forward. I knew what I wanted and had done my research and he respected that and I didnt feel pressured at all! This was my first experience with Nelson Auto. I made my initial contact with them over the internet asking questions, then asking for more specific information on three F350's. Ayla responded to my inquiries almost immediately. Darren called me to visit within an hour. I called Darren later in the afternoon we discussed a ballpark figure for trading in my 2006 F150. I made an appointment with Darren and when I arrived at Nelson Ford they had the vehicle I was interested in cleaned and ready for inspection. I test drove another vehicle, before deciding to negotiate a deal on the first vehicle I had inquired about. After more negotiating I purchased the vehicle. They cleaned the vehicle again after I purchased it. While I was waiting, Ayla came over to introduce herself and visit, she was very pleasant. The Manager introduced himself to me and visited with me. Darren introduced me to the Service Manager while I was waiting for them too finish cleaning the pickup. I liked the friendliness of everyone at the dealership and the hometown atmosphere they projected. I didn't feel pressured or rushed while making my decision to purchase. Darren did a very good job of explaining all the functions of the vehicle, although I forgot some things and already had to refer to the owners manual, but owners manual are meant to be read anyway. I was in and out of the dealership with my new vehicle in about four hours.

I just bought a new Ford Escape from Nelson Auto center and the way everything got handled seemed a little shaky to me. I found the car I wanted online, I called them to see if I could test drive it because I live an hour away, They told me I could drive it right away. 45 mins later when we are 15 mins from the dealership I get a call telling me the car is not ready to drive yet so I drove an hour to Fergus Falls to not even get to drive the car like I was promised. I went back later that day to test drive it, I liked the car and was ready to buy it. The salesman told me I would be able to drive it right off the lot. I made an offer for less then the asking price, and then some repairs just happened to come up after I made the offer, and it turned out I wasn't going to get to take the car that day. Then I was promised someone would drive the car to my house the next day when the repairs were done. I get a call the next morning saying they don't have enough drivers and I will have to come pick the car up, which is not a big deal but they promised they would drive it to my house. So my complaints about them is that they were very unorganized, they said whatever sounded good at the time and then later it turned out they were lying about 3 different things. I also question if those repairs they did would have been done to my car if I did not make a lower offer. There was just a lot of things that went wrong on there part.

After filling out for instant appraisal online, I was asked to bring vehicle in to be driven and looked at in order to get appraisal since I am actively seeking used vehicle to purchase with trade in. When I brought my vehicle in, I was directed to Trevor, upon having a short discussion with him and telling him what I was there for, Trevor lost interest and only got someone to look at my truck after I pushed for him to do so. In addition, after tech looked at vehicle (which lasted 30 secs), Trevor then failed to even give me a formal appraisal. I even specifically asked for something in writing for my records and he replied sarcastically "ok here I can write something down" and then scribbling a number on a plain scratch piece of paper. I've never had a sales "professional" treat me with less respect and care than Trevor did during my visit. I had my eye on a vehicle in their lot, but there is absolutely no way I will step onto their lot again.

We had been looking for a new vehicle for a few weeks. We were ready to purchase from a dealer in Grand Forks. But, when we got there- surprise- the vehicle they said they had, they didn't have. They had been saying for 2 weeks that it should be in. We were very disappointed. We searched online and found the vehicle at Nelson's Auto in Fergus Falls. We had never purchased on via online before so we were nervous. We called them and Brian was VERY helpful! It was late on a Friday afternoon, it would be a 4 hour drive. He verified the car was on the lot. It was- but needed to be prepped. He found a way to get it prepped and stayed late(passed their closing) to help us close the deal. The pricing was very fair. We LOVE our new vehicle. This dealership was easy to deal with and willing to work with us. I would highly recommend anyone to check this dealership out :)

I just want people to know that we stopped at Nelson Ford to look at a vehicle. We went into the Ford showroom and absolutely no one came to see if they could help us. We were there for 10-15 minutes. A couple of people had customers but others were just sitting looking at their computers. We were very unhappy and left. I certainly would have understood if someone would have looked up at us and said, I am working on a deal right now, I will be with you shortly. But not one person looked up or even acknowledged we were there. Maybe they should consider having one person for customer service when customers walk through their door. Won't be going back.

Nelson was closing at 7:00 on New Years Eve. I had been web searching for a used AWD that still looked good, ran well, had leather interior and heated seats. At 3:00 p.m. On New Years Eve I found the 2002 Mountaineer at Nelson that looked like what I'd been searching for. I stared web chatting with Jim Boid. He confirmed vehicle was still available and ran great. I got off work at 4:00 in Milbank, SD and raced home to rural Ortonville. Jim. called me on my way home to tell me he had taken the car for a spin and there were a couple warning lights showing on he dash which might be due to the cold, but he wanted me to be aware before i made the drive. We left for Ferguson Falls at 4:00, and arrived a little after 6:00. It was nice that Nelson had washed the car for me, but unfortunately at -17 the washing froze the doors. It took awhile to crack the doors open and get the vehicle started. Fortunately even the fuel level was low the vehicle ran long enough to slightly defrost the windshield, crack open the passenger door and get Jim and I to the nearby gas station. Jim put a few gallons in and we were off on our test drive down I-94. The vehicle ran well, but I was a bit worried about the cost that might be associated with the warning lights Jim had mentioned, which were not showing during the test drive. I had also really wanted a remote starter. With the holiday and late hour that wasn't going to happen anytime soon. In addition there was a bit more body damage than I had seen online, so I made what I thought was a reasonable offer. Jim wrote it up Manager Chad approved, and we were on our way in my new/old no longer cold Mountaineer, which stayed warm and rode great all the way back to Ortonville at -20 and falling. All in all a cold, but very pleasant buying experience. My only recommendation is for Nelson to try to stay in touch with buyers driving a distance during the sub-zero season, and to make sure cars can be opened and are fueled prior to arrival. We overcame those issues, and that is the only thing that would have made the experience better. Happy New Year 2014! Sue from Ortonville

Day of test drive, abrupt and indifferent staff who had to jump the battery because it wouldn't start. The salesman was told by myself and my husband how concerned we were about our son's current car and driving in the cold. After paying for the car AS IS, we took the car to get a new battery. The list was mind blowing - New battery , new tires ( bald ), no tank heater, 900.00 later- new timing chain, filthy transmission fluid, bad wheel bearing, new head gaskets...... another 1400.00. We will have paid for the car x2 by the time we're done. All trust is OUT THE WINDOW !!!! Be careful when signing AS IS !!!

I was looking for a raptor truck which is hard to find nationwide. Somehow I called Nelson Auto thousands miles away. I was not sure how this remote transaction could be done smoothly. Surprisingly, Darren ordered the truck for me and it arrived on time even though raptor is the least predicable in production timing! The whole purchasing experience with Darren thousand miles away was like working with a local dealer and I was treated very professionally and nicely! I was glad to give him another business by ordering a truck for my wife. However, due to Ford's backlog, my order could not be fulfilled timely. Darren kept me informed of the process and finally apologized that Ford was not able to fulfill my order. That was totally fine and it was not under his control. Brian Q at Nelson Auto was professional from what was a busy Black Friday, cold and windy; he was there to help us try out the cars we were asking about. We never felt pressured, and decided to think on it a day. We went back late Saturday afternoon, and made a purchase. A check engine light had come on, but Brian assured us, it would be taken care of, before we brought it home. It's always nice to know Nelson Auto will stand behind their sales, to make sure it's right. We don't often purchase a different vehicle, and many times went with a private party purchase; because of previous high pressured or uncomfortable experiences with salesmen. Brian Q, was exceptional and made the buying experience very comfortable. I have not commented about quality of repairs, as we're awaiting the repair on the check engine light. I was extremely impressed with Dave Johnson as a salesman! A friend of mine has worked with Dave for many years and Dave has also earned my repeat business and referrals as well! This was the first vehicle I had to purchase by myself. I was treated with respect, he answered all my questions in a very professional manner and he made the whole experience of purchasing a vehicle for me fun! I had done some price shopping closer to my home and none of them came close to the prices at Nelson Auto Center. Let me say that purchasing a car or even to walk in to a car dealer was out of my comfort zone! Being a female, widowed and a sales person myself, I pay close attention to how I am treated! At another dealership closer to my home - it was not a good experience as I walked into that business - I was greeted with "can I help you find who you are looking for"? It wasn't that way with Dave at all! Dave greeted me with a smile and a handshake. So you can be assured that there will be alot of my widowed friends told about my vehicle buying experience with Dave as probably the best salesperson I have met! After the paperwork was done, Dave was waiting for me to explain everything in the car. I was especially impressed with the amount of time he spent doing that to make sure I understood everything - especially the cellphone part! As well as telling to call him if I have any questions. Dave went the "extra mile" as a salesperson. I can tell that he loves his job and does it well! I purchased a 2013 Ford Edge! Its awesome!

Financing was simple and straight forward and I received a reasonable price on my trade in. After I purchased my new vehicle they took the time to show me how to utilize all options available, even fill up my gas tank. I would definitely recommend this dealer. I recently purchased a previously owned Ford Edge. Jim Boid assisted my wife and I in this purchase. As a true Minnesotan he was outside in the cold wind and rain last weekend answering all our questions. Jim was very easy to talk to, was patient, fully informed me throughout the entire sales purchase. We were able to drive both on the highway and in town, to get a true feel for the vehicle. Elliot Thompson, the finance manager, answered all our questions and was extremely helpful as well. I was also impressed that Brent Nelson, the owner, was there on a Saturday and shook our hand after the purchase. My wife and I had several other dealership options much closer to our house; however Nelson Automotive Center had the best prices in this area. I will not hesitate to recommend referring friends, family, or strangers to Nelson Automotive Center in Fergus Falls. I will definitely purchase my next vehcile from Jim. Very Satisified!!!

My wife and I were looking for a good late-model used car and because we are planning a move to Fergus Falls, decided to work with the Nelson team, to ensure future service support. Brent and Laurel Nelson have been friends, and they certainly treated us like family. But they have a team, and because we were doing our car search long distance, everything had to be done from the website. In the end we ended up with two cars that had not yet been posted - the sales staff (Jeff and Co,) went the extra mile to know exactly what we wanted, sending us pictures of newly arrived vehicles, and ultimately getting us int the cars we needed. From the web master, to the guys on the floor, to the contract writers, to the finance department - everybody was extremely helpful and followed up quickly. I worked with Travis to purchase a 2010 Chrysler 300. I checked on their website at first, and when i got there I never at anytime felt like i was being sold too or pressured into buying something i wasn't sure i wanted. I was given great straight forward information to help me make my decisions. Not "i'm going to tell you everything you want to hear because i want you to buy a car." Top to bottom! Customer service all around was excellent. I live in Fargo and Corwin wanted to give me $400 for my beater, Nelson gave me $1100. See you later corwin!!! We went in because we bought our last car at Nelson and we were happy with the salesman and the service department. We were looking for a used car but didn't see anything we liked so Darren showed us the new cars. We told him our "must haves" and he found a car that met all our needs. The car had just been delivered the evening before and wasn't even on the lot yet. Nevertheless Darren brought the car around and we loved it. We worked out the deal and told Darren that we would pick it up the next day. Darren and the finance person had the paperwork ready when we went in and Darren went through the car with us explaining all the features. An excellent experience!!

Thanks to Dave Johnson, Sales Manager at Nelson Ford, I am now driving a 2013 F-150 King Ranch pick-up. This is my third King Ranch and I have been more than pleased with each one. There are many vehicles out there, other than Ford, to choose from. The reason my husband, Bernie, and I have remained in Ford vehicles all these years is the tremendous service we get from the sales staff, like Dave, at Nelson Ford. Dave is truly a professional and walks you through the purchase from start to finish. He goes the extra mile to make sure that you understand the process and are happy with the purchase. If it were not for people like Dave at Nelson Ford we would probably not have been as loyal to the dealership over the yearswhich I might mention has been 20+ years. I drove 150 miles to look at and possibly purchase a particular car I found on Nelson's website. The info posted about the car was thorough and more than enough to get me to travel there. Once arriving, I was greeted by a down to earth, pleasant and attentive staff who immediately put my fears to rest and made me feel very comfortable. Just a great group of people. I've been getting oil changes at Nelson for a few years and had good experiences (except once, which is why I give the lower rating for "quality of repairs") In that one instance I had one of our cars wheels aligned and when I started on the way home notice it was actually worse than when I brought it in. I called and brought it back. They realigned the car but only gave me a small discount saying it must have been the car, not their repairs. I was quite frustrated. However, we just traded in our car and bought a newer Ford and had a great experience with them. I feel they have redeemed themselves! I was on a short timeline and was amazed on how fast the process went. They were willing to work with me and give me the payment we wanted. The salesperson was excellent!

With the Great Customer Focus that Nelson Ford has, theres NO other place I would rather do business with. The Sales Staff is Number One in my book. Darrin, my Sales Rep is top knotch and Focused on doing what he can to make sure that the Customer Experience is what it should be. The Finance Department is Excellent as well as the Sevice Dept. If something isn't right the Service Department has always made sure that the Customer is taken care of. That has been my experience with them. I have had several Company Vehicles Serviced at Nelson Ford as well as have puchaced 4 cars from them over the years. There is something to be said for a returning customer. There are alot of options out there these days and theres a reason why I keep coming back to Nelson Ford. They Are Focused on the Customer and treating them the way it should be. Its been my experience that theres no other place I would rather go than to Nelson Ford.
