I wish I could buy a MINI every week from Ben. I actually miss talking to this guy after I take delivery and the deal is over. I have brought two MINIs from him and traded one in. He is fun, creative, professional and knows how to listen. He communicates clearly and even admits if he makes a mistake. I have bought 16 cars in my lifetime in MA, CT and NY and this guy is the very best I have ever dealt with. In three years, I will be back to buy another MINI, I will go straight to Ben's desk.

I recently contacted the dealership in reference to a used truck they had in their inventory. I never received any type of response from anyone at this dealership. Customer service is nonexistent.

Everyone here is great. I've been leasing and servicing with New Country MINI since 2012. The New Country MINI staff are experienced and knowledgeable. Many of them have been working there for several years since I got my first MINI! That's always a good sign of happy employees! And guess what? Happy employees mean happy customers! They do it right at New Country. I'm a New Country lifer that's for sure!

I purchased my first Mini Cooper 2nd generation in 2007 after custom ordering it from Oxford, England. The salesman was very helpful during the ordering process and instructing me on everything I needed to know at delivery. Seven years later, he had left the company to pursue other interests when I returned to order the Third generation Cooper S. During my seven years of ownership, Marissa the service advisor was the best. She was always there for you,to make sure you had the best service experience. She has since left the dealership to return to school and move on with her life... Big loss for New Country Mini. In March of 2014, I decided to trade in my generation two Cooper S (49,000 Miles) and again custom order a new 2014 Mini Cooper S with every option available to be built in Oxford, England. Joe Sajda was my salesman this time and I must say he was by far the best car salesman I have ever worked with in over 47 years of new car ordering ( 16 different cars from 10 different dealerships). He was extremely helpful in designing my Mini and make it even a better experience at a fair price, than the first time around at New Country Mini.I was given a very fair value for my trade in which actually was resold to a new customer in less than a month. He kept me posted on the updates on the building process and shipping across the ocean to final delivery. He then made sure the car was fully inspected and prepared for delivery and then spent lots of time explaining everything I needed to know about this new generation three before I left the dealership to drive home. He even had a few surprise customer gifts to help me make my Mini ownership more enjoyable. He was great at following up after the sale and anytime I returned to the dealership for two factory recalls and maintenance service. Joe loves what he does and is extremely knowledgeable about everything Mini. The third generation Mini Cooper S is by far the best Mini yet in design, function, fun and upgraded fit and finish of materials both inside and out. I have now owned this Mini for two years ( only have 9,500 miles as I only drive it three times a week and never in ice and snow). The service department staff has also been wonderful in taking care of both my Cooper S Minis' since 2007. My cars were always washed before pickup and I was always given a loaner Mini vehicle to drive if I did not want to wait for service. Unfortunately after I brought my trouble free 2014 Cooper S in for my two year routine service appointment there was an open recall to have the crankshaft bearings inspected and it turned out there was was slight internal damage from faulty bearings (no symptoms and the car was running perfectly). New Country sent photo to Mini Corporate and it was decided to replace my 2014 turbo 189 hp engine with a brand new 2016 ( not rebuilt) rather than try to repair my slight amount of damage. Mini Corporate was being very proactive and under the open recall if their was any indication of wear from the faulty bearings, the engines would be replaced,so the owners would not have to be concerned with a future problem caused by a repair to the 2014 engine. I was given a new 2016 Mini Clubman to drive until my new engine was installed and the car fully inspected to give me many years of happy motoring. Now that is great customer service. Thank you Mini.??My Mini Coopers and New Country Mini

In 2009 I bought a new Mini Cooper. After about 18 months the timing belt broke causing damage to the engine valves. The timing belt was a Mini Cooper recall issue that was never addressed when I had the car serviced.Although the repairs were covered by warranty and by the recall, my car sat on the back lot for over a month without them touching it. After complaining numerous times, they called me to tell me my car was ready. When I went done to pick the car up, it barely started and it did not have enough power to drive off the lot. They apologized, but a week later when I went to check on it, I once again found the car on the back lot. New Country Mini told me they give priority to oil changes. 3 weeks later I was once again called and told the car was ready. When I went to pick it up the engine light was on and the engine ran very rough. Again I didn't make it off the lot. The car was eventually fixed, but it took over 2 1/2 months.Do not buy from this dealer, or pray you never need a repair.

I began my new car search at New Country MINI. I've had my Honda for 16 years so buying a new car and learning new technology was a bit daunting but Levi made the experience a good one. He was patient, knowledgeable and friendly. He did not rush me and he made me feel comfortable with the test drive. I also met Sam who went over the financing details with me. He was very willing to work at finding the best option for me. Sam was also patient, knowledgeable and friendly. Everyone at New Country MINI made me feel welcome and valued as a potential customer. I would highly recommend this dealership as they offer a quality car and they did not pressure me in any way to buy from them.

I have purchased 2 vehicles from New Country Mini and the experience was excellent in every way! The Sales Manager took care of seeking all the right features and finding the best deal for me and my vehicle needs. The order process was easy and efficient and when picking up the vehicle they spent as much time as we needed in understanding the features! The finance process was very efficient and quick. Overall wonderful experience and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a Mini or other vehicle!

I was suprised to read the last review because I've always had a good experience with everyone at MINI. I've been a MINI owner since my first 2006 Convertible to the ALL4 Countryman I just purchased. Everyone is always friendly when I come in for service and their new building is awesome! Make sure to use the restrooms when you go there. Thanks Sam for all the help!

If I had not already decided on a Mini for my wife I would have walked out immediately. The staff were not interested in talking to me until I told them that my next stop was going to be at the Fiat dealership. Suddenly the sales manager was interested in selling me a car...I thought that was why they were there. We were promised the moon in after sale service. Nothing could be farther from the truth. I will keep this short but they allowed my wife to drive off their lot with an obvious safety issue with nothing more than a rude remark. Their maintenance program is nothing but a joke. The rest of the regular warranty is not much better. Do youself a favor and shop elsewhere.

I will never shop at New Country mini or BMW again. I got a mini lease and these guys are a bunch of folks with sell quick characters and are really interested to just get you to sign the bottom line. During the lease signing process they try to get you to buy a extras that you do not need and then at end of lease they are rude and make you sit for hours. Then look for anything to charge you for. A fellow named Chris found it offensive that a customer actually asked him directly to check back in the lease vehical. He sits in a shady glass office in the BMW building. He said no time very busy. And there were maybe few customers in the building. So I walked over to the mini showroom they put me in contact with Jeff who would not even get off his chair and meet a customer. Between Chris and Jeff I figure they think they are better than the customer having them shady glass windows they sit behind. Really silly as I was wconsidering to take another lease and these two were too preoccupied to pretending to be working. After signing the lease three years ago at that time no one said thanks for the business and then on return of the car three years later the folks a New Country never asked how was it, or can we get you another car, or thanks for the business. So I figure since this happened over a span of three years and got similar behaviors across departments this is just the corporate culture of New Country dealership in Hartford.

Went to New Country Mini after visiting another CT Mini dealership that seemed pretty apathetic to have my business. I called Joe Salda directly after reading reviews on this site and couldn't be more pleased with the experience that I had. From initial contact, Joe was helpful and accommodating, listened very carefully to my questions/interests and had a fleet of MINIs ready for me to see when I arrived at the dealership. I ended up surprising myself by choosing a color that I didn't think I liked before, and Joe got the car ready to go in no time and even helped me add stripes to it. I was in and out in about 3.5 hours and that included a long time on the phone with my car insurance working through a silly admin issue on the insurance side. Joe even humored me with a parking lot manual driving refresher before I pulled out on the open road. We recently bought another car (different make & dealer) from a very nice salesperson but Joe was the best sales professional we dealt with in meeting with about 8 dealerships across 3 makes of cars. DEFINITELY go see Joe at New Country MINI.

I must have asked about 1000 questions about the Mini Countryman all were answered professionally and thoroughly. I would recommend the dealership highly for your Mini Buying experience, what ever the model.

What can I say? I love my MINI and it's spoiled. Because of that the service dept at New Country MINI is awesome and they really go out of their way to take care of me and my car. It's like taking your car to a good friend. The folks there are easy to work with, make sure the work is done and have gone so far as to get me a rental car when my car needed more time on a repair. The service warranty on the car is already awesome and the service from New Country MINI is above and beyond as far as quality and professionalism! I recommend them whole heartedly!

I bought a MINI Cooper Countryman ALL4 from New Country MINI just over a year ago. I went to all three MINI dealerships in my area, and while I was very happy with the courtesy and friendliness of the sales and service staff at all three dealerships, New Country has hands down been the best at communication. Both the sales and service staff have responded really quickly, thoroughly, and courteously every time.I spent 8 years with an "executive" dealership for another make of car, and while they were just fine, I am constantly surprised at how quickly and completely my questions are answered by the folks at NCM. I don't get passed around the phone system, and if I leave a voicemail or e-mail, they return it within minutes. If somebody says they'll update you about your car by 3PM, they call before 3PM, even if it's just to say that they're still waiting on a part. Marissa has been my service advisor since I got the car, and it's needed one oil change and two replaced sensors. Normally, it would be a little irritating to have a new car in a couple of times for glitches. But each time, she's called me back within a few minutes of my first call, and she's scheduled me quickly and arranged a loaner car for me. I really like to know exactly what's being done with my car and exactly how everything works, and she will sit and answer questions patiently until I feel good about the process. Never once have I ever felt like she was rushing me out, and never once have I felt talked-down to about how my car works or what's being done to it.They act like my time is really important and like all my questions deserve to be answered. They make a point of getting back to you quickly with the most thorough answers they can give, and they never leave you hanging. That's been true of Joe Sajda, who sold me my car; Brandon Small in service, whom I dealt with only briefly; and especially Marissa Sackett in service, who's been my main contact since buying the car.Oh yeah, and the courtesy wash you get is a real wash. My last dealership used to just get my car wet before giving it back. The last time I went in with my Countryman, they didn't just wash it; somebody actually took the brake dust off every nook and cranny of my wheels. So my failed sensor was less like a hassle and more like a free car wash.

I am so happy that I went to New Country MINI. I had almost lost hope that I would not get a MINI after working at the "Other" MINI dealership and getting treated like they could care less about ME! All they wanted to do was sell me a car I didn't want with options I didn't need. I went to New Country and it was great. No pressure at all. They helped me find the perfect MINI for me. I would tell anyone who wants to buy a MINI to not waste your time visiting anyplace else. Thanks New County!

My first experience with New Country Mini in Hartford CT was in November 2011. Right from the beginning they were great. Before deciding on my first Mini I got the chance to browse the showroom and lot, PRESSURE FREE. Never once did I feel intimidated or pushed into anything by any of the staff. They were great, courteous and knowledgeable. My Mini of choice was ready as promised. Overall my entire purchase was the smoothest I've experienced.New Country Mini is great to their customers; always inviting them back for different events (ie. Mini rides, service clinics etc...). That alone makes the customer feel they matter and that this dealer is not just out for the quick sale and your money.Their service division is the best I have ever experienced. Marissa, Service Concierge rocks it!! She knows her stuff, is extremely pleasant, and has always been any of my many questions. It is a great feeling to know that not only did I finally purchase my first Mini but new Country is still there for me if I need anything. I would without a doubt recommend this dealer for your Mini purchase!!! Thank you New Country Mini!!!brfour019

I own a busy sales company. I can call or e-mail Marissa and she will do the rest. Make the appointment set up a loaner and then get back to me with my choice of dates. On the day of service I pull inside of the facility (warm and Dry) and I am always greeted immediately by some one with a smile. The key fob goes in the little slot on the desk. It tells me what I need and off I go in my brand new/ clean loaner.I am kept up to date as to the progress of the service through out the day.If for some reason the service can not be completed that day (rare). I get a call to keep the loaner and they will call me when the car is ready the next day.Pick up is as easy and stress free as drop off. I come back with the loaner. Turn in the keys. Get the bill and back on the road in 5 minutes.I consider New Country part of my sales team! They keep me up and running so I can keep my business up and running!

I bought a new convertible Mini from Joe at New Country Mini in Hartford. Joe was considerate, responsive, enthusiastic and thoroughly professional throughout the entire process. He made time to accommodate my hectic schedule despite my occasional need to change plans. He never pressured me to buy what he wanted to sell; rather, he listened to me and steered me toward the perfect car. We drove a couple of models to help determine whether to go for a manual or automatic and whether to go for a hard top or convertible (I never owned a convertible before and needed convincing....) I recommend this dealership and this particular sales professional (and of course, this car!!!!)

I already own a MINI, but am thinking about buying a new one. This would be my first new car purchase. I know Mike from being at events around the great MINI owner's community, so I visited him to inquire about new MINI sales. Mike was patient while I poked around inside all of the cars, answered all my dumb questions, and let me test drive a Clubman they had on the lot. Then we went back to his office and spent a long time talking about options and pricing. He took the time to really show me what I wanted to see, and talk to me about all the questions I had about buying a car. He really loves what he does, and you can tell he has a lot of fun working for MINI. He's no-pressure, and really cares about the people he does business with. You can tell that due to the fact that he is on a first-name basis with many of the customers he has done business with at New Country (particularly when he worked in the service dept.) As for the dealership, it was clean and attractive, and had a nice assortment of cars with all sorts of features to check out. There are plenty of cars parked out front, a handful inside the dealership, and a whole bunch more parked out back. I haven't decided wether or not I'm buying one (my own preference, not because of the dealership), but if I do, I'm going back to Mike at New Country.

I leased a "top of the line" mini cooper clubman from this dealer. When I turned the vehicle in [to the BMW offices across the street], I was informed that there was "wear and tear", specifically bald run-flat tires, a nicked windshield and some cracked trim. Good thing I was talked into buying their "safe-lease wear and tear insurance" at the start of the lease, right? Wrong. When I presented the proof of this insurance information to the gentleman that appraised this "wear and tear" at turn-in, he said, "I don't need to see that. You send a copy of that to the mini financing company when you receive the invoice."Hey, call me naive, but that's what I did. Now the financing company says I need to bring this information to the dealer to remove those costs! Is one hand talking to the other at this place? This guy was lazy and didn't want to do the work, especially since I wasn't going to lease or purchase another vehicle from them (a $350 "disposition fee" by the way). Now I'm stuck doing their job. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere to get a mini or a BMW.I never had any problems with the service department though. It's not their fault that the POS car has plastic accessories that cannot handle a New England winter.

I had a great experience buying a new vehicle at New Country MINI. Joe was a very down to earth, easy to talk to guy and he is very knowlegeable and helpful. Rick was great, too. I have nothing but great things to say about my entire experience at New Country MINI.

Lip service not actual service. I purchased my Mini, which I love, from New Country. However, the service at New Country has been poor at best. When I picked up my new car my first experience was to almost get killed. No exaggeration! The car went into reduced speed safe operating mode just off the on-ramp entering I-84 near the dealership. I limped back to New Country and was assured they had inspected it properly. A loose battery cable was the problem..Hmmm. I think if they had properly inspected it I would have not been nearly creamed by an eighteen wheeler. <P>Next, when I arrived home, I removed the roof racks and storage box only to find that when opening the box for the first time the lock failed -- the key could not be removed and the box could not be locked or securely closed. Obviously the box had never been unlocked/opened/inspected or this defect would have been easily found. All of this I could get let go of. After all, who knows -- perhaps they were having an off day when my car came in. <P>I made an appointment to have the lock fixed and deal with some other small issues. They called to tell me the lock was broken and a replacement would have to be ordered. I said OK, I will pick the car up. Just remove the box, hang on to it, fix the lock, and call me when the job is done. I was quite surprised to be told no, we can't do that. I would have to return with the car and wait while they fixed the defective item they sold me -- very inconvenient for me. <P>I allowed as that did not work for me but they were quite insistent that there was no room to store the box. Hmmm. No room in a car dealership for a surfboard sized box ???? Then I was told they couldn't remove the box as there was no one there qualified to do it. ????? Hmmm. I did it myself at home. ???? Bottom line -- inconvenient for them is no good, but inconvenient for me, just fine. <P>When I picked up my car I asked to return the defective item and was told I would have to speak with a manager that was not there. However, I could wait if I wanted to. I guess this manager did not have a mobile phone. I asked that he call me when he returned so we could discuss the matter. Needless to say, there was no call.<P>End game -- 3+ weeks later, no call to say the part is in (they said one week) and no call from the manager to discuss a return/exchange. So when at New Country they ask you if they can help you, remember what they really mean is, can we do anything for you we were going to do anyway.<P>I paid $46,000.00 cash for a fully tricked out Mini so I do not think I am a bad customer to have. I am about to buy another car. This one a BMW as I have been a BMW owner off and on for many years. My current BMW is really just a toy, a $30,000 motorcycle. I will not be buying at New Country BMW and cannot recommend that you do either. (Originally posted September 12th 2011 but somehow removed.)<P>9/21/11 Updated We are now well over 30 days waiting for my lock. When queried today I was told it took an extra 6 to 10 days as it had to come from Germany. But it did show as having been ordered. Just another 6 to 10 days I was told.

I was at the dealership at 1pm. Nobody from the staff was visible. I made a few circles until I bumped into a service guy who was friendly enough to guide me to Mr Eckart, who was on the phone. My conversation with Mr Eckart left a somewhat absurd feeling - it was me who led the conversation and I tried to buy a car very much. But I was met with such unwillingness to sell me the car that I left and bought it in a different location.Truth to be told I was a bit afraid to meet a too assertive salesman, but that was a complete opposite scenario - a salesperson totally uninterested in selling a car.

brand new mini - broke down within a few weeks - miserable service coordinator!!basically - my problem....what happened to customer service??? speaks volumes about dealer that they would allow this kind customer interaction...this was an expensive car - there are obvious bugs with this car and they cant get parts because its "too new"?! Really? Then act like its your problem and not MINE just because I made the mistake of buying the car at this dealership!Things better improve or management needs to change

It is a shame that such a good car could be sold by such an awful dealer. Service? They don't know what that is. They blame all the problems of the car on you personally. I had my vehicle in service for 9 days. My car needed to be towed (at my expense), I had to rent a car for 9 days (at my expense). My car STILL has problems. They are upset because I put new tires on my car...who knew that the tires need to have sensors in them or at least tht is what they told me. The sensor is in the vehicle not the tires. My keys both of them do not work. This vehicle is over computerized and it has complete control of the vehicle. I am not a happy camper and the dealer does NOT care. They have yelled at me on the phone, called me names and treated me with total disrespect. I have been driving for 40 years and this has to be the worst service EVER. I would never recommend New Country Mini to anyone. Their reputation preceeds them. Even the car rental place expressed that the terrible service keeps them in business. I had to fight to get things done and they blew me off when I took my vehicle in to them to have a broken sunroof looked at...this caused the sunroof to be covered by my extended warrenty. They are guilty of insurance fraud. They knew that I had a problem and they did not take care of it, they passed it off to somebody else. Again I question service??? All they know how to do is make an appointment, but they do not know what to do when you get there or know how to fix the problem. Now I want to sell my car and I can't because it is still not fixed. This dealer costs me too much money. The Mini is a great dream car, but New Country Mini dealer has made this whole experience a nightmare.

The timing chain tensioner broke on my 2009 Mini Cooper S back in April 2011 which also caused the timing chain/belt to break. They (New Country Mini) had it for about a week and told me it was fixed. When I went to pick the car up, it was very hard starting, idling very hard, had no power ( it was like trying to take off in 4th gear) AND the engine light was on. I only made it 1/4 miles from the dealer before turning around and giving it back to them. The car obviously was never road tested after repair.New Country Mini then kept the car for an additional 3 weeks and claimed the problem/problems were fixed. My guess is that the mechanic had the timing chain off by a tooth or two. In any case, it should not take a month to fix a timing chain issue.Sadly enough my 2009 Mini is back at New Country Mini (went in on July 14, 2011), with the engine light on and idling rough. Since my Mini was returned in May I had not driven it much due to being away from home, plus the fact I ride a 2009 Goldwing most of the time in the summer.New Country Mini has had the car for over a week now, and claim they have opened a PUMA case and are waiting for a response from Mini.I am now going on six weeks that my 2009 Mini Cooper S has been out of service. I paid cash for my Mini and right now its looking like the 30K bought me nothing but a huge headache. I hope not. I really love my mini!Update July 29, 2011: As a result of the PUMA case the engine was torn down completely. The engine was found to have two bent valves on one cylinder.I assume they mean either the valve stems or push rods. The engine is now being reassembled with new valves.Update Aug 1, 2011: I was told my Mini was ready to be picked up. They replaced only the bent valve rod. They removed and inspected the pistons. The pistons were found to have uneven wear, but were not replace with new ones. When I tried to drive my Mini away from the dealership, I found that the car had no power (again it was like taking off in 4th gear) and the engine light came on almost immediately. I turned around and returned the car to the dealer was it is now being fixed. AGAIN! At this point my car has been out of service for 20 consecutive days and counting. the prior repair visit which is related to this visit, was for over 30 consecutive days. Simply put , in the last four months my 2009 Mini Cooper, which is still under warranty has been in the repair shop for over 50 days, all for the same problem.Update Aug 8, 2011: (final & sadly last update) New Country Mini called and said my car was ready and had been extensively road test. I took possesion of the car and twas told that a vacuum line was bent and a gasket on the exhaust manifold was cracked and replaced. When I went to pick it up it had no gas in it. I mean the computer read dashes for miles left and the fuel bar had zero lights. The service concierge went with me of a quick test ride. First I had to buy gas or we would not make it back to the dealer. The car ran okay, but on the highway ocassionaly it would hesitate when you stepped on the gas. Regardless of that I took my car because I fealt confident that without a fault light going on they would not fix it. This is the last update on this problem as I intend to unload this lemon as soon as possible. The CT Lemon laws can not be used because the car is over 2 years old and has over 24k miles on it. Regardless of the fact that it is still under warranty and only 2 1/2 years old with a little over 40k miles, the lemon law does not apply. The CT Division of Consumer Affairs New Car Lemon Law supervisor even suggested I trade the car in.
