Thankful to have done business at North Country Motors. I recommend them 100%! After a year long search in looking for a specific vehicle that is no longer being manufactured, I can say I came across a lot of different salesmen. With confidence, I can say that Ted Schmitt was the most honest, trustworthy, and reliable salesman I have encountered. The way he handles his business is very hard to come by. Very easy to work with and there never was any pressure in making a deal. My family's mechanic and a woman from the loans department at the bank both spoke very highly of him as well.IF you are looking for a quality vehicle that is in great condition, then this dealership is for you. You won't regret it!

I was drawn like a moth to a flame when I saw my truck on Ted's lot. Drawn to what looked like and was advertised as a "clean" truck with "no paint work" that the previous owner had "taken south" in the winter. Upon further inspection, the truck clearly has been painted and wasn't the miracle rust-free diamond in the rough I thought it was. I bought it because I trusted Ted, had high hopes and, well, I was blinded by the beauty and thought of owning this truck. The day after I brought it home, the truck had a major mechanical failure. I called Ted on a Sunday morning and the truck was picked up in my driveway and fixed within 24 hours. I picked it back up from his lot and it's been 6000 trouble free miles ever since. One month (bought in May) after I bought it, rust bubbles popped out on both rear fenders. This is what caused me to look closer (much closer) at the truck and this is when I discovered that it had previous rust repair and paint work, albeit VERY GOOD paint and body work. Either way, two or three trips to work in the rain and I had rust bubbles appear out of seemingly nowhere. I was upset but - that's what you get when you buy used. Certainly not Ted's fault. I don't think HE did the body work but as a self-proclaimed car guy, I'm sure he knew what he was selling. Either way, Ted is a great guy and will go above and beyond for you as long as you have reasonable expectations. Just use caution buying ANY used car on ANY lot - it's rarely what anyone says it is and you always have to beware of what you're getting. All in all, it was a pleasant buying experience. Ted will make his money off you just like any dealer will - that's how they make a living. But Ted stands behind his cars (for as long as he has to by law) and is a nice guy to deal with. On the whole, I am pleased with the truck but I will never buy (or should I say finance) a used vehicle more than two years old again. Not up here in the salt belt.

Ted is a great dealer to work with. He will bend over backwards to make his customers happy. I recently bought a 2005 Nissan Titan from him. I love the truck. It had a major problem with the rear axle and Ted did everything he could to fix the problem. I would imagine it cost him a lot to repair and he must have made very little to no profit on the truck. He took care of it with no hesitation. This is my second vehicle I have bought from him and I will be going back when the time comes to buy another vehicle.

Really enjoyed the buying process, Ted was very low pressure, After shopping at several other dealers my wife and I couldn't get over how clean all of the cars were on the lot. Ted really takes pride in his business and it shows. Very helpful with financing, took care of all the dmv paperwork and plates. Several of our friends have bought vehicles and had nothing but good to say. We will do business there again and recommend North Country Motors to anyone!!!

I cannot recommend Ted and North Country Motors highly enough. Ted was very pleasant to deal with. He was very helpful and ready to answer any questions I had. Even my mechanic was surprised by the quality of the vehicle I purchased. Ted worked with my bank and my insurance company. All I had to do was sign my name a couple of times. Thanks, Ted. This has been a pleasure! I recommend this dealer without any hesitation.

I recently had a very positive experience at North Country. I found the owner Ted to be very honest, incredibly informative, helpful and personable. He did not apply pressure to the sale. He communicated effective throughout the transaction. He offered a very fair trade for my trade-in (sealing the deal actually). He and his staff were excellent in all ways. I am sorry to see a poor review included on cars.com because my experience could not have been better! I would recommend this dealer to anyone.

March 24,2011 we purchased a 2003 Toyota Tacoma believing it was in excellent condition and that he knew everything about this truck. What wasn't told to us is that there is a major problem with the frames of these trucks and Toyota was replacing these frames. The frame on our truck is cracked and so carotid it can't even be welded. Had we known this we could have contacted Toyota or not purchase this vehicle. We did contact Ted to either trade it in and even pay mor for another truck, or for some kind of compensation as the truck is considered totaled. His repsonse was salt and sand is hard on cars up here, sorry for your troubles. The only winter we had this truck waas the "winter that wasnt" last year was a very mild winter-almost no snow. One winter would not cause that much damage. We havent even had this truck for 2 years. SO when he says he knows everything about what he is selling you, and that it is in above excellent condition, DO YOUR RESEARCH and have it checked out
