This was my first time as a buyer of a car and I was extremely happy with the experience here. I worked with VJ in sales and he was very attentive, funny and exceeded our expectations going into the dealership. He was extremely kind and thorough. Open road Honda made the whole process easier than I ever expected. I would like to thank VJ from Honda for assisting me and for the amazing experience and we will see you soon for another car!

Sales person VJ and his manager Robert were awesome ! We recently bought a new HR-V from them, and they made the whole process very clear and pleasant right from the start, and the whole experience was very smooth, painless, and stress-free. They were both very professional and knowledgeable. VJ worked hard to get us the best deal possible, he was very attentive and informative, and he efficiently covered everything to get us out the door with a new car just within few hours. Thank you VJ and Robert for a great service of above and beyond ! I recommend them both !

My wife and I recently bought a Honda Pilot from here. Mike Hui was our sales associate. He was also our sales associate for our Honda Civic that we purchased last year. Mike is trustworthy, patient, kind and informative. We really enjoyed our experience with Mike. He made us feel comfortable about our purchase. I recommend him as a sales associate if you choose Planet Honda.

Just got back from Open Road Honda in Edison, NJ and had a wonderful encounter with VJ who helped me tremendously through the entire process of financing my car. VJ was very thorough in every step of the process all to the very end and introduced me to Oscar who finished my paperwork. Great experience, professional, courteous and excellent customer service. Walked out happy. 🙂 Regina

We went in to buy Honda Pilot exl and after a test drive, when we asked for pricing the sales manager walked in. He did not introduce himself and just took over the dealing from Jason (sales person). He was so rude and did not let us speak at all. He insulted us and told us to leave for absolutely no fault of ours! I wish I knew the name so I could point him out. Well, unfortunately for them they have lost customers (us and our friends). We got the same car from DCH Paramus Honda and had a wonderful experience.

Exceptional service (10/10). Last Saturday my daughter, her husband and I met Jeffrey Gutland for the first time at the dealership. I wanted to lease a 2017Honda Accord because of the great performance of (my first) 2014 Accord (currently own a 2012 Honda Civic). Here is a guy who knows his job well. His excecution was flawless from the unit selection and pricing offers to the document preparation and delivery. He also had great support from the Accounting Team which was a reflection of his good interpersonal skills. I have only written a few reviews in my lifetime. It's usually a personal thank you for good service. However, we were so happy with his outstanding service that I decided to take the time to acknowledge his outstanding efforts. Thank You very much Mr Gutland and Open Road, We will highly recommend you to our family and friends.

I come from all the way in PA, after spending approx 4 hours at the dealer with no answers I got "pre approved" only to be told to come back not the next day but two days later when the "salesman" was back. When I showed up two days later he couldn't even be our salesman so we got someone new, once again our credits were ran, BAD! Then what we were offered two days prior wasn't even what we could have truly gotten, but it wasn't until about three hours later that someone told us this. So two days, 1.5 hour trip each way, and after many hours of not even being acknowledged just left there like we didn't matter, we walked away with nothing. Not only the waste of time, gas, and effort for a few days but also rude people, very limited and rude answers. Will never go back there!!!!!

My husband and I had the pleasure of working with Tony to buy our new Pilot. He was such a nice guy- knowledgeable and respectful, and most importantly to me he was not overbearing. There is nothing worse than a salesman who makes you feel pressured but Tony really made us feel like he was there to help us. All of the salesman were so kind, even helping us keep our toddler content with balloons and paper airplanes. I highly recommend this dealership.

So, I was attend by Henry Lin. He was very rude to me and my parents when we went down spically to check out a car. The way he was taking to use was not professional, he also started giving use attitude and was not willing to negotiate the price at all. Which basically told me that he did not want me as a customer. Overall very bad attitude and not the right way to treat a customer who came for jersey city because they were recommended to be one of the best delarship

When I bought the car on February 21 I thought everything is ok to my car and after few days . They used brown touch up paint to black to cover up the chips of my car so I went to the dealer and they are telling me that they don't know nothing and who knows I did it and they will give only discounted rate for the repair . They manufacturer should fix this in free of charge coz I spend and pay this car in full

I have 2 bad experiences with the sales people. The first one was when we were looking for a Honda Odyssey. At first, the Asian guy was nice and accommodating. We already specified we wanted a silver Ex, but still he drove us to their lot to look for a silver Ex. After going back to the dealership and repeated that we wanted a silver EX, which they didn't have. He just dismissed us and won't even shake my outreached hand. The second one was when we bought the Honda Pilot. We changed our mind about the Odyssey. We made the mistake of buying the 10 years/100,000 miles warranty. And so the next day, we came back to return the warranty. Charles the financing agent said we just have to wait for 2 weeks and the money will go to the bank, as principal payment. It took 8 months, with frequent calling every 3 weeks, for the money to be paid back to us. From the $1200 price, we got back $1,105. The insuring agency said it was because it took 8 months for the dealership to cancel the insurance. I spoke with Rainer Balustro, manager of the dealership, to complain. He promised to give back $45 back as a check, the rest was to pay for cancellation fee. Of course, we never got that check.Crude

He was more helpful then I had expected and patiently took his time helping me. Answered all my questions about the car and warranty. Would recommend this dealership to all my friends and family and to go to Tony Lopez as a salesman you will be treated with the utmost fairness and honesty. This was my best experience I have ever had with a salesman and a dealership. They have got a loyal customer for life now.

I have taken Internet price for Honda CR-V Ex model. They have send me email with lowest price. Then I talk to sales men Mohib and schedule the appointment to finalize the vehicle. When I reach there Mohib was not available even I confirmed my appointment with Mohib by email and phone. I called him and he give some other sales person name. I talked to that guy and shown him Email price which was still valid. He said no we can not give you on this price and start asking $2000 more. I told him I had discussion with Mohib and it is in writing email , you should respect this. He started arguing me and started speaking louder. He said Mohib is not working with any more here . And go and talk to him only. They ruined my evening. Totally wast of time. Don't go there. They just give lowest price to attract customers. After that making story. They will not stick on there word. I never saw dealer like this. Thanks

My salesman name is CHARLIE. I lease a new Honda Accord. After 2 car leases, I became familiar with leasing and how things come into play. I came in to the dealership and ask CHARLIE - what car I need and the price I wanted. After checking the inventory and finding the car, he went ahead and process my request. In less than an hour, I drive home the new accord.

Their salesmen pride in putting the customers down and doing sales gimmicks. If you believe in fair or even general courtesy dont even step in the door. They waste your time, by making you wait loner and longer as they have all the time in the world to wear you out. Its a matter of how quick you give in to their aggressive salesmen. Deals fell thru multiple times even after the internet quote and email negotiation because of the last minute flipping by the floor salesperson. Onetime, the deal price was agreed upon in the email and the salesperson was shown the same, but she prepared the purchase contract excluding the accessories for the same price and would not own her mistake of correcting it. I am not going back there. I would not recommend this dealerships for any of your Honda purchases either.

I went to the dealership for buying a pre-owned vehicle. First we couldn't make a deal and I walked out the door. Sales guy comes running behind me and agrees to my price and congratulates me for getting the car. All sounds GOOD right!! 1.5 hour later while waiting paperwork and stuff his manager comes around with a different price than what we agreed upon. He went back to their original price and didn't want to honor the price they agreed upon. Manager or the sales person didn't care about the commitment they made earlier. I walked out of there. They don't seem to be professional and don't care about customers time or what they committed to. !!BE CAREFUL!! when you deal with these guys. Sales person: Chris Manager: Dimitry

I had very good experience with Open Road Honda. I bought 2016 Honda CRV EX-L from Open Road Honda Edison. I was dealing with Sales Person Mathew Mathai, he was a very nice & helping fellow. He worked with us throughout the deal and after the car purchase also. Pros: They have lots of car in inventory. Their prices before tax were the most reasonable among all the dealers I have shopped around. Cons: They have high documentation fees & they charge 90$ to the customer before handing over the key (for cleaning & removing other stuff). Overall I was satisfied with my deal with them & I recommend them.

If I see your advertised car online. If I send you correspondence to verify the car is still there. If you call me to confirm that it is and that I can see it in the morning. If I call in the morning to verify it's still there. If I'm on the highway and you again call to confirm my appointment. If I go through your showroom and get directed to a sales person. If I tell the salesperson the car that I'm looking for, and he looks in the computer and confirmed that the car is there. Why then when I have to wait a half hour for someone else to confirm the car was sold the day before? Unacceptable.

Could not be any more pleased with the service and treatment I received at Open Rd., Honda. I brought my car in for repairs, that I was already quoted for at a another shop. They were actually able to beat the price, using Honda parts, and I got more warranty on the work than I was offered someplace else. I emailed and asked for quote via email. That was not so successful. I spoke to a rep on the phone after she sent me a base price. I asked for my out the door price. I literally had her on the phone with her trying to jedi mind trick telling me they are the best price and trying to get me to say it. I kept saying I don't know please tell me the out the door so I can compare. She refused for over ten minutes, kept arguing with me telling me they asked are the best. She kept saying i want to earn your business to which i said well then give me the orice. Finally she did and they weren't the cheapest. Long story short she convinced me tow send her the better offers, indid. I didn't hear back. Next day I emailed and asked tow be emailed back as she promised she would after talking to her manager. She called instead of emailing me, and told me they are cheaper, I said no your not. She insisted she was but when I asked her how she said that's what her manager said and he will call me. Well four hours later he didnt. I emailed and to which they had another salesman call me and trying to sell me again. In the end I don't trust them if they can't even follow up to 'earn' my business.

He told us about the price and trust me just the price and not the variations available in the model. When we asked for variations, the only question he asked was do you want turbo engine? Sure, every Tom Dick and Harry knows what's the difference between a turbo engine and a regular one? Isn't it the duty of the representative to tell the customer what's the difference and how to go about it ???? And then we asked if we can see the car and he said its outside. He escorted us out and showed the parked car, without getting the cars key. Forget about the test drive, Did he expect us to just look at the exterior and not the interior? And we again asked if we can see the interior and text drive the vehicle once and then he headed inside to get the keys. All he did was instructing the one test driving to turn left or right and he spoke nothing about the car's featured at all. Once we headed inside and asked him for the price quote, he took a minute and on a piece of paper he wrote ex = sensing = $22875. And nothing else. We asked him if we could get a quote for Honda Accord too and in a really loud voice he said "sir, you first need to decide on which one,". We totally lost it then, i just said you can't tell us to decide on a vehicle le when we are here looking for our options. That's no way a sales representative e gets to behave with the customers who come by to see a car. Honda is supposed to have really good representatives around but I don't know how we came across Andy Zhang at Open Road Honda, Edison NJ. This has been my worst experience ever and I'm gonna tell everyone I know about my experience. Sorry Mr.Zhang but you disappointed us to to the core.

I commited to buying a car there and the vehicle was sold the day before I told them I was coming. Not even the courtesy of a phone call. They claim they tried to call me however they didnt have a problem getting me when they was trying to make the sale. Needless to say I got a much better deal at planet honda.

I wanted to trade in my Mini Van to lease a new Honda pilot. we couldn't find common ground on trade-in value and end up leaving empty handed. But Open Road Honda girl named Carolina kept on calling me, she kept on trying to convince me to come back again. One time she said she have spoken to her manager and he is willing to offer the trade in price, so i agreed to come in again. When i reached there, I was greeted by their sales Rep and I started the process with that sales Rep. they had promotion on site saying $995 down + fees and Taxes. I did my research and was prepared to pay MV, Docs, bank and acquisition fee, final price due on leasing $2800+. and that what they offered me on my first visit when they tried to low value my Van. Open road Honda site still shows that promotion, but sales Rep Randy told me that their AD is a lie, He presented me with all the costs associated with leasing (it had a bunch of made up services, but required). Which was totaling in $4100+Taxes+first month payment. They just want you to visit their dealership, they will not owner any deal offered you on phone.Beware! check all the values around before going to this place.

I would never recommend this Honda dealership. They agree to different terms and price over the phone and then disagree when you visit them. Gave me a price over the phone and then said it doesn't include any taxes and fees. I clearly asked if this price includes everything, i.e. out the door price. So, they just want to get you there and waste your time.

The salesman was informative and polite when he greeted us at the door and showed us the crv. At first he promised 1500 off the listed price then came back and said the only option was to meet an offer for a reserved car and that everything was already reserved because the car we were interested in was rare, so that bumped the price back up $900. Okay that makes sense. When we asked questions about the price and questioned the milage (first he said it's brand new so should only have 15-20miles. Then offered to check and it turned out to be 44 miles), he insisted that he already explained the reasons but still tried to be accommodating and got his manager to offer 2 free oil changes. This salesman was actually really good and tried his best to accomodate what we were looking for. The bad aftertaste i have is with the free oil changes.Watch out for their offer for free oil changes. Manager promised that his offer for 2 free oil changes meant the car would be covered for the year. The fine print on the offer paper has an expiration of 30 days. How do I use these 2 free oil changes for a brand new car and the offer expires in 30 days? ??! The manager basically lied to my face about honoring that offer before I could see that there was a fine print. Towards the end, it seemed like they were just pushing for a sale. I was exhausted and had already decided on buying the car so i just wanted to get out of there but did not appreciate the fake free offer and the push on the price increase after the initial lower price. I wish I pushed more to stick with the original lower offer for same day sale. Later in the finance office, the insurance package I had to buy because of the loan financing covered maintenance (including oil changes...) and he said it was required because of my credit score.. uh what? Total fees brought the total up couple thousands. I felt stressed leaving the dealership but will have to admit that if there was a positive factor, it was with the salesman and his knowledge of the cars.

My experience with this dealership has been extremely terrible and nightmarish. It does not allow me to give anything less than 1 star and hence going with it. I went to the dealership with a quote from truecar.com for 2015 honda odyssey. The sales person (Sam) had no knowledge about the car, gave me wrong information, was very unfriendly and was rushing. He was willing to show me the car (not test drive) only if he sees some commitment from me. Since I had already decided to buy the car and done the research about specifications etc, I didnt want to waste time either and directly proceeded to price negotiation. He brought in his sales manager and instead of honoring the truecar.com quote, they tricked me into negotiation on OTD price and was tricked to agree for a price higher than quoted price. I know I should have been careful and checked for every detail but I trusted them to honor that price and was very nervous as well. This in my opinion is definitely cheating. The sales person was so unfriendly that he was making rude comments and weird jokes like I should be happy that I'm getting service from a sales person like him and that I should consider his "personality/attitude" as extra bonus with the deal. I paid the advance of $3000 and agreed to pick up the car on Monday (since it was already closing time on Saturday). On Monday, I was forced to select one of the 3 colors that they have available though I was told on Saturday that any color is available. I insisted on running the credit check and give the interest rate upfront so that I can make a decision to finance or completely pay down the car. He told that I can make that decision later and if I dont like the financing interest rate, I could pay the car by personal checks. Since this is my 4th car purchase, I specifically asked if they accept personal checks to which he confirmed in positive. I arrived at the dealership around 6:30 PM with my wife and 2 little kids and they didn't even start processing. They put my file to finance department around 7PM and Sales person attitude continued. The waiting room was horrible and dirty with no water, no coffee and not even napkins. Finally, I was called into finance dept room and I didnt like the interest rate offered and mentioned that I would pay by personal check. Instead, the finance manager dropped the interest rate by 2 points if i purchased add on items such as extended warranty, wheel protection plan etc. I took some time to make decision about extended warranty and decided to not buy any add on at which point the finance manager was clearly unhappy/agitated and told me to wait until he finishes another customer. By this time (830 PM) my kids were hungry and we had to order food from outside and the dealership didnt have even water or napkins. I was called into the office around 9PM again and I told that I will pay the entire price by personal check without buying any add on items OR financing to which he finally agreed unhappily and tried to convince me otherwise. All the paper work was signed and I wrote the personal checks, shook hands and about to leave, someone else entered the room and said that personal checks are not accepted. By that time, I had lost all my patience and didnt have the option to take another day off and didnt want to disappoint my kids or wife by not driving the car out. I was forced to buy the extended warranty with financing (that was the only option left if I had to get decent interest rate). My nightmare didnt end there. After coming home, after couple of days, when I was looking at the contract, the price that was given to me was higher than the truecar estimate, but the papers were signed by me. After a month, when i went to collect the license plates, I was forced to pay additional money because they didnt collect enough for license/registration. I wonder how they wouldnt know how much it would cost for license/registration in a state that they are operating. Also, how can i be forced to pay when my negotiation was on the OTD price. Please avoid this dealership at any cost.

The sales team is completely knowledge less. Do not believe what they say, do you own homework before buying a car. Also ask them to put things on paper before you make your final decision about buying here. Also do not believe in their offering while negotiating the final price. Or ask them to give in written to avoid all kinds of future confusions. The Honda cars are good, but not "Open Road Honda".

This is the old school nightmare car buying experience. Complete bait and switch. I called, negotiated a price, was told to come in and speak to the salesperson. When I called to ensure they'd have all the paperwork ready to go for signature suddenly the salesperson 'Ray' said he 'didn't understand' and that they'd sold that very car today after he had time to digest the price I negotiated from an earlier conversation with 'Marsha'. This car was a 'new listing' and I was ready to finance, put a down-payment down and show up with cash. Buyer beware. They are not honest. Lost a lot of respect and gained a bad reputation over a few thousand dollars.

Today 06/08/2015 I had the absolute worst experience of my life at a dealership. I went in with myhusband to Get a car at ooen road Honda Edison, NJ.After we were with the representative for 2 hours which included the test drive we then began to discuss numbers. He came back with an extremely high unrealistic figure. Now, we understand that this is apart of the dealership's strategy however, when we began to ask the simple question of how this payment was so high, He tried to dismiss my question as if we misunderstood him. He then stated that we were too far off on the payment and I asked him based on what? I asked for the APR that being used or the money rate ( I got these terms from google). And he said 2.9% I said this was very high but even at that rate the payment should not be that high. I asked how this was calculated and he stated that there was no need to speak to the finance person and refused to get someone who could, instead, he stated that if I was not comfortable with the deal we could "always just leave". We got up and walked out and no one spoke to us as we left. I have never experienced such poor customer service in all of my life, and both my husband and I are in the customer service industry.

My car unexpectedly died, and I dreaded the thought of buying a new car because of my previous experiences with car salesmen. However, upon the recommendation of a good friend who had purchased a car from Yong Shin 6 months ago and was thrilled by her experience I went to Open Road Honda and requested Yong Shin. My experience can only be described as fantastic! I got a great car at a great price. There was no push to buy. Even when I was considering a more expensive car, based on info I gave Yong Shin it was determined that the smaller car would meet my needs. Wow, a salesman who really cares about my needs. Yong Shin was terrific in helping with getting the insurance when my car insurance company wasn't returning my calls. He got it done in 5 minutes. After I purchased the car he spent more than half hour going over all the features of the car - saving me a lot of time. He stated more than once if I had any questions or concerns to please call him.On a scale from 1 to 5, Yong Shin is definitely a 10. If you need a car look no further than Yong Shin at Open Road Honda, you will not be disappointed.

Our experience of new car purchase from Edison Honda was wonderful. Our sales rep Yong Shin was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. After selection of a car and completion of necessary paperwork, Yong Shin found a scratch mark on the vehicle. He helped us choose another car and let us choose a different color of our liking. The overall experience was very rewarding.

They will try everything to get the sale but after the purchase you mean nothing to them! They are only about car sale numbers! Promised free oil changed I never got them! Missing wheel lock from vehicle I wanted replaced and they tried charging me for it! It was never included in car! Took them weeks to refund money they owed my wife!! WEEKS!!!

Had a wonderful service experience and would like to thank everyone for being so nice and helpful. On May 02nd, Sat. we (my wife, our 2 sons and myself) went to Open Road Honda just to shop and have an Market idea. Crystal Graham, Mike Davidiv & Akram assisted us. Mike us with us from the beginning to the closing of the transaction. Mike kept us up to date on the vehicle the whole time. Akram - Manager was an absolute gentleman and very patient with us despite how busy it was. Their active, courteous & friendly service and knowledgeable discussion convinced us to make the healthy decision on the same day and we came back home with New HONDA ACCORD, 2015. This is not the end yet - they followed up with me via phone if I had any concern or issues. If you decide to buy car, you should definitely consider checking it out. Thanks to Open Road Honda Team for their outstanding service. Keep up with the great service!

Jibron and Hameed at Open Road Honda (Pre-owned Department) worked hard to make my buying experience an A+! I received a very fair trade-in price for my old car and a great price on my new one. Everyone stayed past closing time until my financing went through so that I could take my new car home that day. There a few minor issues that I needed help with regarding my new car, and Jibron and Hameed happily went the extra mile to make sure that I was satisfied. The new car facility is very nice and thankfully had snacks and drinks available for my kids. I don't think that I could have had a better buying experience. I highly recommend this dealership!

Ney K. & Ines Guerrero April 25, 2015My wife and I were shopping for a new car and a friend recommended Open Road Honda in Edison, NJ. We had shared with him that we were hesitant due to past negative experiences where we felt pressured to make decisions we weren't comfortable with; but from the moment we walked through the doors of the Open Road Honda dealership, we were extremely confident that our vehicle needs were going to be attained. We were personally received at the door by Mr. Yong Shin, Sales & Leasing Consultant, in a very courteous and respectful manner. He was expecting us and knew us by name. He immediately made us comfortable and introduced us to Mr. Jim De Marco, Manager, who in the same pleasant tone welcomed us and made sure we had everything we needed available to us to make our car leasing experience a comfortable and enjoyable one.Mr. Yong Shin took us through the entire process providing us with all the details and information we needed to know about the Honda CRV LX AWD we were leasing to ensure we could make an informed decision. He was very knowledgeable about the car details, was very helpful, and best of all pleasant and polite. He anticipated questions we might have about the car, and about our future servicing and car care needs. Mr. Yong Shin is very knowledgeable of his trade, the Honda brand, and the vehicle we were obtaining. He is a courteous and pleasant person. He allowed us all the time we needed to ensure we understood everything we needed to know about our new car. Every member of Open Road Honda personnel we engaged with were courteous, polite and very knowledgeable of their function. Even the ever daunting financing process was made an amiable and pleasant experience by Mr. Ali. Our personal experience at Open Road Honda was a very pleasant one. We highly recommend Open Road Honda Dealership and will continue utilizing them for all our future car needs. We rate them as a Superior business that provides customers with a great product, remarkable care and excellence in service.

The invoice price is fair, but BE AWARE of the additional charges in the final price. It charges dealer prep for $95 plus tax, which basically is a car wash, putting of foot mat (Honda's standard mat) on your car, and some minor things that they are supposed to do for free. The additional charges also include a "security etching" for $199 plus tax, which is a bunch of etching stickers placed on car body. It does NOT include window etching. If you buy a D.I.Y kit, which costs around $40, it gives you both window etching and body etching sticker. When you ask them why no window etch, they will say window etching is out of date, ugly and they don't do it anymore. But, it still charge you $199. It also charges $498 documentary fee, which contains $290 for clerk fee and $200 for transmittal fee. Well, the fee seems to be more than a lawyer's hourly charges, in my opinion. This additional fee could add another $800 to the final price you paid. The best part of this is those fee are in a PRE-PRINT Form, which makes you think they are mandatory. BE AWARE those charges, don't be fooled by the invoice price. Check other dealers if they charge those additional fee.

I have purchased three Honda Accords over the years from Open Road, most recently in December 2014. My experience has always been that they have consistently beat competitor prices and continue to provide excellent customer service through their service center. The dealership's General Manager, Hassan R., is outstanding-both in his professionalism towards customers and his management of sales and service personnel. I shop there with confidence and trust, which has been built over years of great salesmanship and service. If you are looking to buy or lease a new Honda, go to Open Road Honda in Edison-chances are you'll not only be happy, but will be going back to them again and again whenever you're in the market for a new car!

After a certain Honda service dept played with my brand new CRV for 7 WEEKS..including never calling back,I called Mike Gworek who diagnosed and corrected the engine light that would never go out in 24 hours!!! I met Mike years ago at my local Honda (10 min away) but unfortunately for me he left for Open Road 35 min AWAY fr me. Surrounded by many Honda's dealers I chose another local one for service but out of complete desperation I called Mike who said " thats rediculous..an engine light should not be on for 7 weeks! Upon calling Open Road Honda via telephone and speaking to the Used car sales "Manager" John Cacoilo, he assured me the used car I was looking at was $15,998 out the door. We took the 2+ hour trip out to NJ from NY and upon arrival we were greeted by John and given one of his used car "salesmen." After the test drive he proceeded to tell us that the car was not $15,998 but instead $16,995 plus additonal fees such as a $500 Document fee, a $300 DMV Fee, a $95 car wash fee, and a $195 " body etching fee" - all totaling $1,100 dollars in unnecessary fees. Upon confronting John, the used car sales "manager", about him lying to us about pricing he became rude and confrontational and replied " so what!? we need to make profits. Every dealer charges paperwork fees and car wash fees" LOL - Thanks John, but we took our business elsewhere.Bottom line: If you enjoy playing pricing games and paying bogus fees, shop at this car dealer. Make sure you speak to John for the best price.

Thank you Jibran for making a car buying experience an excellent one!!! I visited Open Road Honda in July with my wife to see 2012 Honda Pilot touring and ended up buying it with Jibran's help! He is honest and was straight forward. No intimidation tactics by bringing in Sales manager or finance manager to tell me I can't afford the car or to look for cheaper model!! My, actually OUR (including my wife), experience with Open Road Honda was EXCELLENT!!! With the staffs, especially our sales rep JIBRAN, and even the facility packed with amenities that allow hours of car buying process bearable. We bought a 2012 Honda Pilot from Jibran at a price no other dealers could match (visited 4 other dealers before coming to Open Road). Albeit the long drive from Phialdelphia PA, the trip was well worth the effort. I have listed below things I liked about doing business with Jibran: 1. Gets all the numbers right the first time (you may experience that some dealers will try that "Oh, I have made a mistake calculating the numbers" line) 2. No intimidation maneuvers (bringing in Sales, General, Finance Manager to do their job) 3. Not making a scene (at the hint of deal going south, they'll bring above three amigos to tell you that you can't afford the car or get a cheaper car that you can afford in a most demeaning manner possible) 4. Honesty (Jibran told me upfront what he can do and cannot do. I had several numbers in my head when I first decided to buy the car. I started from the bottom and reached the happy median) I encourage anyone to do business with Jibran and Open Road Honda. Thank you again Jibran!!

Went in to buy a Honda Accord. Was brought in by online department. We are told Patrick will help us. First we go into his cubicle. There is no extra chair. I am standing while my friends sit. No courtesy to offer a chair. When asked , told me to pull a chair from another office. We havent seen the car yet but he has credit application ready. Asked him if we can see the car, he says we do not have it in this parking lot. Told him the deal online says something else and you are saying something else. His response is its perfectly legal. The Ad was written by a lawyer. We own 5 dealerships.... Then he goes like you dont have a credit yet and your co signer is not here so there is no point. Then he goes like the person who gave you online quote is not here either. Anyhow I wanted to leave and not waste time. One of the manager came in and changed the sales person. The car came out from the same lot. The person we dealt with later on was nice. The senior guy came out and apologized too. I have bought multiple cars ranging from honda, toyotas to BMW and even cars from their own dealership but have never been dealt with this way. They certainly need to work on it if they do not want returning customers to go to other dealerships.

I was overall very pleased with buying my used car at Open Road Honda. The salesman Sam could very fast identify the car I was looking for, gave me a lot of explanation, we did a test-drive together and I got relevant information, and although the price-negotation took us quite some time he did his very best efforts to come to a deal. The only thing that I did not like are the extra costs that come on top of the listed price, which resulted in the more difficult part of the price negotiation, Open Road Honda could be more transparant on this area. I needed quite some help with all the formalities on registration, getting an insurance etc.. and Sam was very helpfull and responsive on this during the entire process. My car also still needed some service on the brakes which was very well taken care of by Stan. Professional and excellent service.Overall a good experience.

First of all let me start by saying, these people do not respect customers. They let them roam around freely around the lot without any acknowledgement or a simple "can I help you?". 2nd of all, they do not respect your intellect and simply think you're stupid and you won't read what the asterisk next to a price means; In other words the "fine line". They had a sign in the showroom which had a 2013 Honda Accord EX advertised for $20,995 which had an asterisk next to it. The asterisk read the flowing on the bottom of the sign: "*Price excludes destination, tax, and fees, plus military/college grad rebate. Above special is non-transferable and can not be combined with any dealer specials, coupons etc. Call dealer for details. Expires 6/2/14." I typed that exactly as it was written underneath the sign. Our sales associate then proceeded to crunch numbers and added 20,995+500 student+500 military+ fees and taxes which brought the price of the vehicle close to 25,500. I then asked him why was he adding the 500+500 rebates in the price if they aren't included as per the asterisk, meaning if the price advertised on the sign is without any rebates or discounts, why is the rebate added on to the advertised price? He then had the audacity to tell me that I was reading the sign wrong and questioned my intelligence. I'M THE CUSTOMER BRO! YOU NEVER TELL A CUSTOMER HE'S WRONG! NEVER! I've been in retail most of my life and worked at various retail chains/stores and despite of customer disputes about pricing I have never told any customer that he's wrong about anything, instead I would accept the mistake and simply apologize or walk away and find out correct information. This particular individual was an egotistic sales person with 5 stars to his rank or he was just simply tired and had a long day. But in any case, how can you add a $1000 rebate to a price which the asterisk clearly states that it excludes all fees, taxes, rebates? His explanation was that, the price is with rebate and since you do not qualify we add the rebates on top of the advertised price. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the purpose of an asterisk or a fine line is to tell people that the base price do not include any rebates or any other restrictions? I mean if anything it should've read that it includes the $500 grad and $500 military discount and since you don't qualify we will mark up the vehicle a $1000 MORE than the advertised price. He then gets a manager or a supervisor whom also tells me that I'm wrong and I read the sign wrong or interpreting it wrong. I also told him the same thing but he seemed to side with the sales guy. We then stopped arguing due to lack of these peoples integrity. We obviously wasted his and our time on a beautiful memorial day and simply walked out just the way the sales guy walked away from us after shaking our hands. I will definitely contact honda corporate and have them clarify this promotion as this individual said that it wasn't in the dealerships hands and the promotion was actually passed down from honda corporate. His exact words were "this is how it works, this is how it gets people in" I meant to ask him if he meant that "since we're deceptive and manipulative about our promotions that's how we trap people into deals."

Open Road Honda had the best OTD price hands-down. My wife and I spoke with Jay Kim. I highly recommended him. He's very courteous and accomodating. He was really hustling going from the car to the manager to get everything done. He's very hard working. I would definitely do buy another Honda from him. Also, Michelle from the internet team was very helpful. She gave the best OTD price that no one could match and they kept their word all the way to us signing on the dotted line. The only drawback would be not getting the 1.9% APR we were quoted in addition to the flex cash, but that was more on Honda corp. In the end, my wife and I were happy with our purchase and look to enjoy this Odyssey for years to come with our newborn son.Jeff P.

Jibran was very courteous and helpful during our visit to the showroom. We told him our needs and what we don't need and he figured out the perfect used car from the lot. He was very considerate and showed patience toward our negotiations. Thanks Jibran you understood what we wanted and delivered it to us.My husband and I have bought 4 Hondas from this dealership starting from 1999 to now 2014. Not only do we buy from here, but we never end up anywhere else. There is no second opinion/dealership because the price/deal is too good to pass up. Thank you Open Road Honda of Edison to take very good care of us.Regards,T. Patel

Went there, told the guy I needed oil change. They took the key and the car. I went in, sit down, and waited. Two hours passed, I asked what happened, is the car going to be ready anytime soon? they said they NEEDED my confirmation to do an oil change, and nothing has been done and the car is just sitting there parked. What the ****? I waited two hours there, and there were at least 7 employees walking around and they couldn't ask: oh why is there a piece of paper with a set of keys sitting there for TWO fricking hours? Why did they just take my keys and car after I told the guy I need an oil change without even confirming what needs to be done to the car? If it wasn't for the free oil change service that comes with the car I bought there, I would never service my vehicle there. The service department is horrible and assumes that customers know their work flow. Look elsewhere when you want someone to really care about servicing your car. Not to mention the ridiculous prices for simple things like changing filters and "cleaning" (both over $70)--- then again it's a dealer so I did not deduct points from there. But keep this in mind, when you pay for their services, you are not paying for speedy and reliable customer service.

I was looking for a used Honda car around 10k$ from private party. Fortunately I went to Open Honda dealer in Edison and met Jibran who is a sales Associate. Jibran is very friendly and very patient to enough to provide various options available for me. Finally I got the Honda Accord with 33k miles for a good price. Surely I'll recommend Jibran to my friends for any assistance in buying the car in Open Honda.

Everyone was very friendly and i would recommend Open Road Honda to anyone looking to buy a car.

I went to Open Road Honda for leasing a new CR-V. The manager Todd behaved quite unethically. The deal they initially offered on a CR-V LX AWD was for $290. However, they refused to show the details for that offer. I had a car to trade in and they appraised the car, increased the Sale price of the car, used the trade-in value to offset it and showed me an offer with details wherein the monthly payment was $290. I refused that and asked him to get a better deal. He came back with a new offer showing me discounts from previously increased fictitious base prices, to show me how great a deal I was getting. When I caught his bluff, he got agitated and did not want to do the deal. Stay away fr this dealership as if you are not careful, they will take advantage of you. Thankfully, I walked out of this dealership. Stay away from Todd as much as you can. I had done business with this dealership in the past, but just because of this guy, I have such a bad taste in my mouth.

My wife and I were definitely rushed by Frank Yu (sales person) and Jason, the manager to take delivery of the vehicle the same day we stopped by the dealership to shop for a car. The entire experience was not relaxed. My wife and I were kept at the dealership from 9:30 a.m. till 2:00 P.m. No lunch break!! Oh, Frank gave us couple small bags of corn chip and bottle water. Gee, thanks. We were not given an opportunity to inspect the vehicle while the paper work was being prepared. Finally, I refused to sign the paper work unless I saw the car. Then the car brought to us for inspection. Looking back, it was last day of November and it is probably why we were rushed to take delivery. I recommend this dealership because all dealerships are more or less the same, and this one is NOT HORRIBLE.

Our dissatisfaction is not with the salesperson, but rather with their management's unwillingness to meet their price commitment and their insistence on last minute dealer add-ons.We had given their internet department the price quote we received from another dealer, and Open Road stated in an e-mail that they could definitely beat the other dealer's price. In a follow up e-mail to schedule an appointment, we expressly stated that if there were any surprise costs such as undercoating, window etching, LoJack, pinstriping etc., we would not be interested in dealing with them.Open Road assured us that their pricing was clear and there would be no surprises. Since we had bought our first CRV from them a few years earlier, we felt confident that we would get a got deal as a returning customer.Needless to say, when we started to discuss price, we were told that they would not beat the quote from the other dealer, but rather just match it. The manager was adamant and would not budge. Secondly, when we asked to provide the total cost at that sale price, the dealer added an exorbitant $398 charge for documentation, $95 to clean and prep the car, and $199 for window etching. We stated that these charges were unreasonable and we would not pay for prep and window etching and that the doc fee should be reduced. The salesperson Teresa got a rejection from the manager who was not even willing to meet us part way, so we walked out.Two days later we bought a 2014 CRV EX AWD from another dealer who kept their word and honored their price quote and had no last minute add-ons.

Folks, be very careful before you consider buying or leasing through Open Road. They will NOT properly process your license plates on any vehicles that you turn in and, when you call in or visit for assistance on getting more information about where your license plates might be, you can expect to be treated like garbage. We found out the hard way. Apparently Open Road failed to properly surrender our plates and now someone is driving around NJ, racking up tickets against our plates that should have been surrendered by Open Road. That's not just irresponsible, that's illegal. So why is this happening? After several conversations with friends and family in law enforcement, it's very clear that someone at Open Road is simply handing out sets of plates to friends/family, etc. instead of properly surrendering the plates. We've already started working with the DMV to get to the bottom of this. Should be interesting.Bottom line: Don't let this happen to you. When it comes to pick out a new car, save yourself a lot of time and trouble by skipping a visit to Open Road.

Returned to Open Road Honda for our 9th (yes, ninth) time over the last 12-years (new, leased, and used vehicles for my wife, two sons, and myself)- this time to purchase a 2013 CRV-LX and the experience, as always, was pleasurable, professional, and stress free. Simply made a phone call to Sales Mgr. Jason Lee, told him in advance what we were looking for, added a trade-in for this purchase, mentioned our price point bottom line, and basically made the deal over the phone. We had also dealt with now Finance Mgr. Hassan Rafique for 4 of our vehicles in the past when he was the Sales Manager at Open Road and he is one of the main reasons we always return to Open Road - thanks Hassan and great to see you today! When we arrived at the dealership this morning (around 10 AM), met up with Jason and Abdul (our Sales Rep.), discussed the phone conversation, and Jason not only met his promises, he did better than even my wife's bottom line to keep our monthly payment well within our price point. Everyone goes out of their way to be kind, helpful, honest, and very professional - you can trust these folks to keep their word!! We were driving off their lot a little after Noon today with our brand new CRV-LX in the Polished "gun-Metal" color we wanted for a better price than we had been promised. From the Sales Manager Jason to the Finance Managers (Hassan, Cathy, and Bhavesh), it was a pleasure to once again do business with these folks at Open Road Honda in Edison.

Aweful and unprofessional. I will be reporting to Honda the condition of the supposed Certified Pre-Owned car we saw. The carfax did not mention there was water damage on the vehicle (mold in the trunk). The engine sounded terrible for a car with only 50K miles on it. It was shaking and churning in the same way the one in my 12 year old car does. 150 point inspection? There were missing seatbelts in the backseat! Honda Certification is extremely thorough, but this dealership is a scam. I went to two other dealerships and did not encounter such carelessness and unprofessional attitude from any of them.

I have to start this review by admitting that my initial perception and feeling at Open Road Honda (ORH) NJ was not very pleasing to say the least. the customer service people (despite having all kinds of warranties incl Zurich) did not even attempt to research my case. Instead standard answer, please pay investigation fees. May have been my lucky day that Stan Brady came up and the gentleman handing my case handed me over to him. Little did I know that I would have the best ORH had to offer and he made me feel comfortable, my wife less agitated and took care of the fixes, repairs, changes and the ordering of the parts with amazing speed and finesse. Although he looks outside like a hard cookie, but he warms up after a while and starts helping you. Great guy, great personal communications skills, incredible knowledge of hitting customer hot buttons and also assuring irate customers (I was) in a calm manner that "it is OK, you did not buy a lemon and we will fix it for you". Anyone who has ever had a bad deal, experience or chapter with ORH, please go and meet Mr. Stan Brady. Infact my appeal to Madison and Princeton Honda folks, please invite Stan Brady for cross-training your groups in customer service. I have written to Ralph Ruggiero, GM of ORH to ensure this employee is acknowledged, promoted and made an example that he can proudly boast of.

If I had it to do again, I would AVOID this dealer. I saw the warnings on this post but decided to try them anyway to see if they could beat a previous offer on a similar car from another dealer. I had a terrible experience there-had to walk out after being there 2 1/2 hours. The salesman George was very polite with no-pressure until numbers were discussed. I was then low-balled on the trade-in value and made to feel that my trade-in was extremely sub-par. Their trade-in offer was much lower than the competition. I was at all times very friendly and amicable. The Manager replaced the salesman to negotiate with me and he was extremely rude and confrontational. He raised his voice to me and he was not by any means, a gentleman. My offer was reasonable, and allowed for dealer profit. I had my own financing and could have purchased the car right then and there. I had done my research on all of the numbers. This dealer succeeded in alienating a potential customer. I left disappointed because I liked the car, but fortunately these guys are not the only Honda dealer in NJ, and there are many more Honda's to be had. I will be buying one tomorrow from another dealer who is not rude, and who offers a fair deal.

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE AND RUDE CUSTOMER SERVICE.. Here is the story... I went online and requested a quote for honda pilot. I got a call after few hours and provided the quote. The quote seemed attractive, so I asked her to check with her sales manager again about the quote and then send me in "writing" so that I have proof of it. She checked with her manager and sent me the discussed quote via email. I liked the quote and asked to setup an appointment to see the vehicle. So far so good.. The HORRIBLE experience starts when I get inside the dealership... I go inside and request to see a salesperson.. first question I get asked is.. are you here to "SEE" the car or "BUY" the car? I said "BUY".. thats when I got some attention and salesperson asked me to have a seat. I told him that I already have a quote from online department and would like to buy the car. When I gave the printed quote from their own internet department, he took it and took it with him to show it to his sales manager. Comes back and says "there must be some mistake".... and I asked why? He said the internet lady seems to have made a mistake when providing you with a quote. He kept looking but couldnt find anything so said she probably quoted you for a lower model or a totally different car. I again said that she had confirmed with a manager and provided this quote. How can they both make a mistake. He brings in his sales manager (Absolutely RUDE guy) and he said "SHE MADE A MISTAKE... SO WHAT".. this is not the price. Very horrible and he, instead of apologizing to me about the mistake, he started to rude as if it was my mistake that I came in to buy a car from them. Talked rude and just went away. Sent someone else to say "they cant do anything" STAY AWAY!!!!!!!! I read about their horrible reviews before but still took a chance to go there since their quote was attractive. However, I think they are doing this purposely to get the customers inside their showroom and then try to sell their cars at a much higher price. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER... The salesman did not seem to want to sell the car. The trade value was well below KKB and they quoted a monthly payment way out of line from the website calculator. I still have not received a refund for my deposit on a deal that fell through. They will not give me a straight answer about anything . The sales people and manager were incredibly rude, yelled at me, and walked away twice. Avoid this dealership at all costs - it's surprising that they do any business at all. I'm used to the last minute cost increase game and expected it... but I never expected to be robbed and disrespected.

Jerry was honest and professional right from the start. I spoke with 4 area Honda dealers and Jerry was the only one that was honest, followed through and called me back. The deal he presented was exactly what he delivered. He was 100% prepared for us to come in and pick up our car and made it the most enjoyable experience in a long time.Mo was also very helpful and patient helping us in many ways. What a great team HONEST and PROFESSIONAL

Great Buying Experience. The only thing better than buying a Honda is buying from a dealership that's courteous, professional and honest. That sums up my experience with the recent purchase of a 2013 Accord. Was so impressed that we came back with mu daughter and she bought a 2013 Civic. Looking forward to many years of pleasant driving.

On my 2010 Accord EX-L V6 the check engine light would come on and go off when it felt like it. I brought the car in for something unrelated and mentioned the problem to Xenia who was extemely pleasant from the get go. i was told that it was the catalytic converters and it would cost $2,100.00 plus tax to replace them. I called Honda Corp of America, explained that the car was barely 2 years old and no i did have the extended service plan after all the car is a Honda. They took 50% off the list price also thanks to Xenia. Something that could have been so daunting was handled so pleasantly thanks to your dealership and Honda America. Ms Haines is definitely an asset to not only your service department but your entire dealership.

A couple weeks ago me and my family purchased a brand new 2013 Honda Accord ex( love it!) I was sold on Honda beofre I even went to the Open road Honda dealership. ( its my 4th!) But i never had the pleasure of dealing with such a great and charming sales guy. My previous experiances with buying Hondas were abrupt and pressured. But not this time, Mohammed and Jason made me and my parents feel very comfortable with the whole thing. Its as if i got a great deal on the car I want and made some really good friends too. The facility at the dealership is A grade. Even though I live about 25 miles away I will be sure to get my car serviced here because of the fabolous customer service and great amenities in their cafe! I recommend Open Road Honda to anyone interested in a new car. Mohammed is a gem of a guy and will treat you like a million bucks!!

I had an expensive repair that I thought was covered under my extended warranty but it wasn't. After fighting with the insurance company with no success, Open Road's service center extended an unbelievable courtesy that helped me get my car fixed. In addition to the service center helping me out with what would have been a huge bill, I have also purchased three different hondas from this dealership. Everyone is always nice and professional, I always got a good price, and financing was a piece of cake with their finance people. But back to the service center, Xenia Haines, my service rep, is an absolute sweetheart who deserves huge credit for helping me out through a difficult situation. Thanx a bunch Xenia, you are the best!!! I have been using this dealership for over a decade now and I always have a great experience!!! Keep up the good work open road!!

It was pleasant, hassle free experience after terrible one got from VIP Honda at North Plainfield, NJ. I was out for hunt on a day and was almost wasted due to VIP Honda people, but fortunate enough visiting Open Road. Even better, lucky enough to get one of best sales rep Julia. She is 100% knowledgable about vehicles she is selling and smart enough to offer best for your money. Got the vehicle- accord on very same day. Just a side note: VIP Honda is most unethical dealership you'll ever experience. Find out reviews of them by many frustrated customers. Just an example, have you heard of $750 for loyalty program charge on vehicle? If you did not buy from them in last 24 months, they will charge you this amount, even worst, their sales rep and managers are blunt and mindless and rude enough to mess up your mind for at least a week. I dare you go and find out yourself. So, if you don't want any hassle and honesty from beginning, go to Open Road Honda and if you want a great person to deal with, Julia Garcia-Santiago!

I was shopping for a car for my wife. I shopped at 6 other Honda dealers (I'm retired) before I visited Open Road Honda. Hameed was the salesman I met. He was friendly and knowledgable about his product. However, I was reluctant to deal with Open Road after reading some of the reviews at Dealerrater.com. Hameed and I were unable to agree on a price and I started to leave. Then I met Hassan. After speaking with him, I felt alot better about Open Road Honda. We were able to agree on a price and I bought the car. All in all, Open Road Honda did everything they said they would, did it efficiently and they were polite. My buying experience turned out to be great and I would recommend this dealership to anyone. The best part of all is that my wife is very happy with her new car. Happy wife, happy life.

I went in with my checkbook ready to purchase a new Honda Oddysey. I made a great deal only for a Senior Sales Manager to step in, by the name of Eugene Poznyak. He went back on the deal and added on many extras which he wanted to charge me for. I don;t like my time being wasted and walked out, only for him to chase me and bring me back in. He sat me down and gave me the same crummy deal. I walked out a second time and Eugene ran out again (unbelivably)with a new contract, with exactly what I wanted. As we approached closing time, I wanted to tie up the deal and just go home. While I waited, I noticed him at the far end of the showroom, dealing with another customer. I had no time for this nonsense, so as I walked out, he ran after me again. He presented me with the contract. Upon close inspection, he had changed this back to the old one he presented. When I pointed this out to him, he had the nerve to say, "I couldn;t really offer you that one" and thought it was a big joke. The nerve of this guy is unbelivable. The most uprofessional guy and cheat I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. The next day I went to Yonkers Honda in Westchester, NY and about the same car for the deal/price I wanted. I walked out of there with what I wanted in under 30 minutes. Gary Misko was the dealer and he's a gem of a guy. Highly reccomended if you want excellent service.

I did tell them clearly that i'm not going to finance with Honda in the beginning of our conversation. In the end i've realized that they are all big piers. During negotiations it happened 3 times . First they say a number and when i've agreed for that they go inside and come back after 15mins and say we cannot give you for that price. Though i have reminded them that it was them who said they can only sell for that price and i'm agreeing for that. They simply lie.I will never recommend any of my friends to g there to buy.My expertise with DCH and Planet honda is very good.

I was in search for a pre-owned Pilot because I had lost my car from Hurricane Sandy. I had found one online from Open Road Honda. I emailed the dealership inquiring about the one I was interested in. I iimmediately got a response back from Jeffrey Burke, who's the internet manager, he stated that the car wasn't available but he would notify me if it did. In the meantime I had found a car that I was about to purchase at a different dealership when I got an email from Jeff saying the car I originally wanted became available. My husband and I quickly discussed leaving the dealership to go to Open Road to buy the car that I wanted in the first place. With Jeff's close contact and following up on his emails, I'm driving in my pre-owned Honda Pilot that has low mileage and in my price range. My car was in high demand that had at least 5 inquiries on it. My buying experience was very fast and easy! I thank everyone involved!! I would definitely go back to Open Road if I'm in need of another vehicle in the future!!!

I was looking for a pre-owned Pilot since I had lost mine from Hurricane Sandy. I saw one online and emailed the dealership to see if it was available, but I was told there was a deposit on it and will be contacted if it became available. A few days later while I was about to buy a Pilot at a different dealership, I received an email from Jeffrey Burke who's the Internet manager for Open Road Honda stating the vehicle I was interested in became available. My husband and I quickly discussed leaving one dealership for the great opportunity of getting the car we were originally interested in. It was a 2011 with low mileage and definitely in our price range! We couldn't have been happier with the service and getting all the paperwork out of the way as quickly as possible so I could drive away with my Pilot! Many thanks to Jeff, Bill, Charles and everybody involved with my transaction to replace my Pilot!! I would definitely recommend you!!!!

This is the frist time I am trying to buy a car and walked into this showroom to look at the cars. The sales manager held me up for 4 hrs tried to connivence me, but I wanted to look at more cars and then make a decision. But the sales manager ERIC has convinced me to pay a deposit of $500 (SAID IT IS REFUNDABLE) to lock the car for 1 day. Now I go there and was told that the deposit is not refundable according to store policies. I was never told about any policies when I was making the payment. These are Cheap tricks played by the people I dealt with. I am going to report this to Honda America.

We purchased a new CRV in March. Abby was our salesperson. We negotiated $800 off + 2yrs of free oil changes. We met with the finance manager (I forgot his name) after being at the dealership for several hours waiting for our turn. He was a snake. He had classical music playing in his office and was schmoozing my family while he stealthily slid the papers under our noses to sign. After we came home, exhausted, we looked over the paperwork and realized that we paid full price for the car and the taxes were rolled into the payment plan. He didn't mention the taxes at all among other things. We would've paid the taxes up front instead of paying interest on that. It was our mistake that when he sat us down and told us he would explain everything that we took his word for it. In reality, he didn't explain anything, but we know all about his daughter and his 3 grandkids, Kia, Mia and Nia (names rhyme). Now it is August and time for my first oil change. I looked through my paperwork only to find it doesn't mention any free oil changes. Somehow, I am not shocked, but disappointed.I've called the dealership 3 times and was told on 2 occasions that Abby is no longer there so I left messages with 2 other people, Jason Lee and Bono. They haven't returned my calls. I called the 3rd time and was told by Mike that Abby is back. I've left a voicemail for her but don't have much hope that she will return my call.Overall, it was a terrible buying experience. When we were ready to drive the car off the lot, the gas tank was a little more than half full and Abby didn't show me how to turn on the lights or any basic functionality of the car. She hooked up my phone to the bluetooth, though.I would not recommend this dealership to anyone nor will I go back there for another car.

We wanted a 2012 civic and had a budget to follow. We were showed a model that we like and agreed on a monthly price which would be paid. When we show up the next day the original price went up and the sales person took the first months payment without running credit check to see if we were approved first. We wait for over an hour in waiting room to find out our tier credit was not approved... He tells us to wait till next day to see if he "can work something out." we call back late the next day because he did not call us back... He never returned calls or emails. We asked for out 267.50 refund and still to this day we have not gotten it. It's been 5 days and the cashiers office never got paperwork from sales man who constantly called afterwords to try to get a lower quality car in us for higher price. Very pushy sales and administrative wise they have no clue how to keep track of a simple refund! A waste of 3 days at dealership with alot of run around from sales team. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM....!!!!

Wow - I just had the best experience ever at a car dealership (and I dread going to buy a new car- because the people are usually sleazy and try real hard to rip you off)...but not today!!! My salesperson was Luke and he was very easy to deal with and was very hassle-free in his approach to everything.Well, as you know after the salesperson there's the finance guy next and I had a very bad experiece last time so my teeth were clenched and I was ready to walk out if I felt manipulated...low and behold...I had the complete opposite experience today - what a pleasure my whole time at Open Road Honda was. My finance guy was Paul (and supposedly not there all the time so call and ahead and make sure he's working) and he was very professional and knowledgeable - he was able to answer my questions and explain certain things in a way that made sense and he wasn't "pushy." It was such a pleasure dealing with Paul that I am recommending my friends and family to only ask for him.I know my neighbor had a bad experience last month at Open Road dealing with other people, but it's the closest Honda dealership to me and I needed to be nearby home today so I gave it a shot and got lucky -- I would definitely tell anyony I know to go there and ask for Luke and Paul.

I visited this dealership two weeks ago to compare the offer I received from Clinton Honda. This was the worst car dealership experience I have ever had. The salesman was so curt and did not give any real attention to me the customer. I waited around for a very long time to have one minute of his time, then waited again for another minute, etc. etc. The offer for my trade in, which was a Honda Oddysey purchased from Open Road, was pathetic and insulting. I would never visit this dealership again. I purchased the vehicle from Clinton HOnda which had much better customer service and a better price.

I and my Wife went to Open Road Honda to buy a new CRV. They are a huge dealership, so we waited unattended for some time. Kept wondering, if we have to go back home unattended. On an earlier occasion i had been to the same dealership and encountered a very stubborn unreasonable sales person. There was no deal, and we had come back empty handed at that time.BUT, fate had different plans. We met a salesperson called Mathew Mathai. Within 2 minutes, we started liking him for the way he carried himself, his humble nature, his impeccable timing for humor and willingness to work on a price. Though we got a cracking price on our CRV-EXL, things weren't easy. I had an absolutely clean credit history but didn't have it for a very long time. So, finance companies were not very generous with me with the lending Rates. That is where Wanda (from Finance) came in. On that saturday, she worked my numbers for about 4 hours and ensured that we went home with our car. She didn't stop there. After that, she went ahead and improved on my loan rates on 3-4 ocassions. Today, i have a 2.45% rate. The day i bought the car, i had a 11.19%. I am indebted to Open Road for employing people like Mathew and Wanda who can make dreams come true. They go to any length to see that a customer smiles on his/her way back home. I wish, every employee in your dealership take a cue from Mathew's and Wanda's way of working. Wouldn't have been possible without you Mathew/Wanda. If we get the same deal and treatment, I am sure that our next car is also going to be from Open Road Honda. AND, importantly, all my friends will also buy from there.Keep up the good work!!

She truly is an asset for Open Road Honda. there is no question or doubt in my mind that I would recommend her to anybody seeking the purchase of a Honda.I would also be remiss if I didnt mention Shree the manager whose help would not have made my lease so easy. I have nothing but good things to say about this dealership and Dave our salesperson. From the beginning, Dave was personable and very knowledgeable about the cars we showed interest. Once we settled on the car, the process went very smooth. We had our car within a few days and the finance department made it very easy for us to arrange payment. The accessories were added quickly and without hassle. The paperwork was done efficiently. My husband and I were very happy with the process of buying our new CRV.

Great purchase. Went into the dealership looking for a base model car for the lowest price. Ended up leaving with an EX accord that looks amazing. Great prices, great selection of models that I liked. Worked with Ramon who took care of me from the moment I walked in and didn't call me every half hour to get me back in after I told them I needed a day to think it over. Been to a lot of dealers and this one was by far the best buying experience. Would highly recommend to anyone.

My family only buys its cars from Open Road Honda. We've purchased eight from them so far and have never had a bad experience. They are polite, efficient, and seem to have the best prices around. The play area for the kids and the well stocked cafe keep us happy while paperwork is completed by the finance department. Most of my friends buy from Open Road, too. Good job!

I visited this dealer with my 78 year old Mom,we were very impressed with how we were treated. They took their time to find the right Honda for my Mom over 2 hours! The sales person named Julia was very good she knew her product extrememly well, much better then the other stores we visited. The delivery was more of a event then buying a car. This is a dealer who deserves to be rated A+ for their efforts put foward to my Mother. Good job.

Let me start off by saying that I came to Open Road Honda after a bad experience with another NJ dealership that I will not name. The previous dealership, after placing a large deposit with them, had promised a 2012 Honda CRV by the end of the week. After giving them time to the end of the 2nd week, they were still delaying me. I was on my way to the previous dealership to discuss the further problems when I decided to stop by Open Road Honda to get another option. It would be a decision that I would definitely NOT regret. After having some time to look around with my wife and friends, we were approached by Nick Moy, who was very attentive to us, listening to our needs and answering all our questions concerning the car we wanted. There was never any pressure from him to purchase and he spend a tremendous amount of time and patience with us to secure the deal we were satisfied with. He is highly knowledgeable concerning all the vehicles they have on the lot and has a good sense of humor when speaking to him. During the test drive, he pointed out many of the new and extra features of the redesigned 2012 Honda CRV.Overall, because of Nick Moy, and later on Tony, who explained step by step the finances of the transaction, I would highly recommend Open Road Honda to everyone, due to the professionalism and care that their employees showered upon us.

After leasing a Honda Accord in 2009 my wife needed to either renew her lease on a a 2012 or go with a different make or model. She was very pleased with the Accords handling and driveability and decided to stay within the Honda family. Our salesman at Open Road of Edison,Stanley Moe could not have been more genuinely concerned with our needs and making the best choice for our situation. It was an extremely busy day at the dealership but Stanley was very patient with both of us during the entire process. There was a very tangible comfort level thruout that made us feel that we could not have made a better choice.Sales manager Mike Lizza was also very helpful in the final stages of our purchase.Anwar Hassan aided in our understanding of the entire leasing process and put my wife at ease with our decision.A special thankyou is owed general manager Rich Jakubowski for resolving a situation that arose regarding our old lease agreement to my complete satisfaction.I have now and would not hesitate in the future to recommend Open Road Honda to both my family and friends.Darryl Jensen

We were certainly in the market for a new car, but did not intend to purchase on the first evening of our new car search. We own an '05 Pilot with just under 170,000 trouble free miles on it, so we were comfortable with the product, we just were not sure this particular vehicle would fit into our current budget. We were greeted by Dave Forbes a pleasant man who quickly ascertained our situation and worked to put together a deal we couldn't turn down. Though we never originally intended to purchase on our first night (we were just shopping) we chose the vehicle color and signed the papers that evening. The vehicle was delivered in perfect condition in a timely fashion. We couldn't be more pleased with our purchasing experience. Also, from finance, to plates the entire experience was easy and pleasurable.

Nick was very personable and helpful. We appreciated the time he took with us in obtaining our new car. This meeting ran extremely late and as a result it left a showroom full of customers unattended. No arm twisting that I've seen used at other dealers. We were treated with respect and courtesy. We appreciated the GM (Rick) taking the time to talk with us and listen to a suggestion we had about the just introduced '12 CR-V. I have been a customer of Open Road Honda for the past 4 years now. I own a 2007 Honda Accord which I purchased brand new there. I have always had a pleasant experience at this dealorship. The best is the express serivice because you don't need to make an appointment for an oil change. They take you in and service the car right away. The service technicians do a free inspection and always let me know if there are any concerns. Its great to know that I don't have to worry about my car because I leave it in their hands and they always fix it right the first time. I have recommended my brother and cousin to this dealorship and will continue to recommend family and friends. They go out of their way to make sure you are happy with the service. They also match other competitor coupons which is a plus. The service manager Neil also helped me out when my window switch broke. He got in touch with Honda and got the part covered under warranty. I recently moved up north about an hour away. I pass 3 Honda dealers just so I can go to this one. Don't bother going to any other Honda because Open Road Honda is number 1.

He took me and my 2 little girls to the waiting room, set us up at a table w/ a tv (even set the station to a kids channel), got us drinks and snacks and told us if we needed anything to come find him. In less than an hour they figured out it was the alternator and battery that had failed. It should have been expensive (over $500.00, but Adam somehow arranged that the Honda Co. would pay for 90% of the repairs as a goodwill since my car was only a few weeks out of warranty. About an hour later we were back on the road heading home. I want people to know that these people treated us like we were customers there for years ! My car had started bucking upon acceleration and I was extremely concerned. I am not extremely knowledgeable about cars (even though I do know a bit), so I had to bring it to a dealer. Before bringing it to Open Road, I had gone to two other dealers who were extremely unhelpful. They were trying to rip me off by telling me that there were multiple problems with my car when I knew that this was not the case. They were very rude and were clearly trying to take advantage of a woman who they figured knew nothing about cars. Finally, I brought my car to Open Road where they assessed the problem and discussed the necessary repairs and costs within an hour. Neil and Adam very friendly, and all of the employees were extremely knowledgeable in the field. I was very satisfied with the service I received, and I will definitely be going back to Open Road for any future problems.

My experience at Open Road Honda was amazing. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by sales people, including Luke Chuang who proceeded to take care of me for the rest of the time. I am a student with not too much credit, but Luke, along with Steve Park, made sure that did not stand in the way of me leasing my new 2012 Civic. They did whatever they could to help me get approved for the lease and they then did everything they could to help me get my payments as low as possible. Not only was Luke knoweldgeable and a pleasure to work with, but the whole process took less than 2 hours! I was very happy with how little time it took from me walking in the door to then driving off the lot in my new car. Cathy Kraus did my finances. She was very sweet and worked fast to get me out of there in no time. Overall, my experience at Open Road Honda was a great one. The employees definetly took care of me from the second I walked in the door and made sure I stayed informed the whole time. I recommend this Honda dealership to anyone wanting to get a great deal from a great staff of people.

I don't usually give such high marks to anything involving a dealership, but Open Road deserves it! Could not have found a better dealership to buy my new Civic. I was worried about fees and if I was buying from te right dealership. I kept searchin and founf that Open Road had the best deal on the vechile I was looking at. I expected a long exhausted time in the dealership filing out forms upon forms, but I was out within an hour! EVERYONE was welcoming and helpful. Employees went out of their way to make sure I was having a great experience! I will only buy and service at the Open Road family from now on.

Recommend this dealer? YesBest Buy at Open Road I was looking to lease a 2012 Honda Odyssey and went to several dealerships in NJ and also received price quotes from dealerships outside NJ. Every person here was extremely helpful and from the moment we stepped in the dealership it seemed like they are ready to offer what we need as much as they could and not just interested in selling the car. I had read and heard bad reviews of this dealership and was actually skeptical about even entering the dealership. But then it did not hurt to find out what they had to offer and I could always walk out. I was surprised when they actually spent 2 hours with us after they had closed for the day trying to make a deal. I was actually confused at a point whether I should buy or lease but one of the leasing managers explained to me the pricing , pros and cons of leasing vs buying and left the decision to me. Though it was very late at night they showed no hurry to pack up or force me into a deal. It took several days till we reached an agreement and they always showed eagerness to make a deal and were very courteous in behavior unlike another dealership who not only bad mouthed other dealerships but showed no interest in customer needs but only wanted to make their profits. After the deal was made there was some miscommunication which they rectified and actually compensated us for the same. At every point we saw the interest in satisfying a customer need and not just trying to make a deal. They were very honest in telling us that they wanted to be the #1 volume dealer in the US and had actually achieved the objective and would try their level best to negotiate a deal and they actually did put in every effort. At no point they said Take it or leave it or let the negotiation fail. At another dealership the salesman told us how Open Road will offer low prices to bring you into the dealership and then charge us items that no other dealership charges or very high documentation fees and other items or trick us into various other financing and maintenance options or actually force us into those for giving that low price. We actually found that Open Road documentation fee was actually lesser than this other dealership and did not charge us for any other items that the other salesman mentioned. You can be assured that they are very honest and will offer you the best price and car buying experience.

A couple of weeks ago, I went to Open Road Honda to get new rear brakes for my 2009 Honda Accord. The brakes the were on the car before were defective. Honda was giving $150 back for the brakes but the dealer was charging over $200. Open Road Honda accepts any competitor coupon but, when I showed them Hamilton Honda's $99 brakes coupon, Adam said alright, this is good but let me just confirm it with my manager. When he went in a gave the coupon, both Adam and Mike went into the room and told him something. Then immediately Neil Wood, the service manager came out and said no. He said they were losing money with this coupon. They clearly stated they will accept any coupon. But, Adam and Mike told him something so he didn't accept the coupon. He wouldn't even speak to me about the coupon, he just went back in his office and refused to come back out and speak to me. The ENTIRE service department is rude, disrespectful and just wants the customers money. After that, I went to the Sales Manager, Hasan and told him what happened. He was friendly and talked to Adam, and made the price $20 cheaper. But still I paid the money and got out of the dealer after the car had new brakes. After a couple days, I called the main Open Road Auto Group office and spoke to someone about this issue and they offered me the difference of the price I said and the coupon. After that, when I called in for service for my car, they said my family wasn't welcome at the dealer and I wasn't allowed to bring any of my cars their. So, I called Michael Morais, the COO of the company, he said if I ever step into the dealer again, they will call the police and get me arrested. I was banned from this dealer because of a arguement I had with the service manager. This is stupid because they didn't ban me when the actual situation happened, they banned me when I got the difference of the money. I tried to get in contact with every single president and executive of the company, but they all refuse to change their decision. I have contacted many companies such as FCC Consumer Affairs and the BBB, but this is now all up to the COO, Michael Morais. Also, they broke my front drivers seat, the headrest is lose and they didn't fix it properly the first time. Do not visit this dealer for sales or service. You are better of going to another dealer with better service. This dealer discriminates against Indian people. They want their money from service and new cars, but they do not want to give them good service.

After having my CR-V serviced I noticed that the volume on my car radio was turned all the way up. I didn't think much of it until later in the day when it seemed that every song playing was not quite right, Turns out one of the speakers was blown. I brought the car back to Open Road and was treated like someone who was trying to get one over on them. Rude doesn't begin to describe them. I'm not going to waste any more of my day describing all that ensued. Suffice to say that I will never go there again and I strongly advise everyone out there to steer clear as well.

I had very good experience with Open Road Honda. I bought 2011 Honda Accord EX-L from Open Road Honda Edison. I was dealing with Sales Person Ramon Diaz, he was a very nice & helping fellow. He worked with us through out the deal and after the the car purchase also.Pros :They have lots of car in inventory. Their prices before tax were the most reasonable among all the dealers I have shopped around.Cons:They have high documentation fees & they charge 75$ to the customer before handing over the key (for cleaning & removing other stuff).Overall I was satisfied with my deal with them & I recommend them.

The most disorganized and rude sales team I have come across. I bought a used Honda Pilot, the deal was good among all dealership for the exact vehcile I wanted and this dealership was relatively close to my home. During the negotiation, like any car salesman, everyone was good. But once I signed the papers and put the deposit, they say that only one set of key is available. On the day I put down a deposit, I checked the vehicle's audio system, the CD was not working, it was repaired. Then, after 5 days, when I went to pay the balance in cash and take delivery, I checked the vehicle again, this time the front floor mats were missing, they promised they will have it wehn I come in 2 weeks for the permanent plates. Well no one called me for 3 weeks if the plates were ready, after following up, I was told by Frank (as konstantin the original sales guy never responded to my messages and said later I should have called his cell)....anyways, I have to finally complain to Mr. Morais the Open Road COO and then things rolled down and started getting done, I got the plates on the day the temporary plates expired, with an explanation that there was some delay at the NJMVC....Well, lesson learnt.....do business with Hamilton Honda, they are the best at least so far as of Aug 2011......

I would like to share with you how my experience went with the Open Road Honda on route 1 in Edison, NJ. First of all, let me just begin my saying the customer service was absolutely atrocious. I was horrified by how I was treated and the employees there were completely discourteous towards me. I was set up and appointment with them at 7:15 by an employee in person and than finding out that they do not even open til 745. After I finally got in, after speaking to my advisor, Nadonley she was quite polite to me and answered all the questions I had but after a while, I got called at the front desk to sign out everything. After waiting in the line for about 10-15 mins, it was my turn to sign all the papers. While signing the papers, I was asking questions to what I was signing to and the cashier was also polite to me. HOWEVER, the service advisor Michale Amorim came up out of nowhere rudely demanding me to hurry up and that there's people behind you waiting. Bear in mind, I was not even there for 5 min and he was being utterly disrespectful to me demanding me to move ahead that there's a lady behind you. I informed him right away that I was waiting for almost 3 hours and that she can wait as I did. After that I spoke to the assistant manager, Ron Krusius who also did not assist me in any way but instead told me yet again to leave and that your cars been ready. Overall, all the people at the service wanted to get rid of me, not giving me any type of assistance, and basically throwing me out. I was SHOCKED and disgusted by their service so my husband called them and Rom Krusius picked up the call telling my husband that my wife was creating a scene and that she was the one that was at fault. Now this was when my husband was astounded when the assistant manager of the Honda Service told my husband to "KNOCK YOURSELF OUT" when he politely told him that I would like to come and speak to you about the situation. That is completely disrespectful and I assure you that this is just not the way you or anyone would speak with their customers. Overall, the service provided by the service advisors and mangers were appalling and offensive. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR DO NOT BOTHER GOING THERE!

Hello everybody, look just want to share my today 05/27/2011 experience with Open Road Honda (at least used sales department) absolutely HORRIBLE place to be. First of all my Honda Accord 2008 lease was finished so I called to Honda financial to find out what to do next they check everything (inspection, payments) and told me to bring the car to the Open Road Honda even this almost one hour drive from my town I was feel fine to know that this will be quick in terms of return procedure. OK I brought the car and the manager dept said NO we will not take you car and that gentlemen I think his name Rick communicate with customers in form of statements NO WE DON'T ACCEPT YOUR CAR, YOU don't have a copy of inspection NO we don take you car My car lot is too small NO WAY, YOU did not buy car from us WE don't take your HONDA I was under impression that guy thinks he on some other dealership other then Honda, not to mentioned how this character even work with people anyway I call again Honda Financial explain everything they called that freaky Manger of Open Road Honda, asked for the fax and sent him the copy of my inspection plus I guess reminded to him that he still sells Honda After that they kind of sobered up and set some sales person to finish return it took after call from Honda Financial about 5 min. Those guys are frisks the costumer service is absolutely horrible they literally started yell at us ( I was with my wife there) ant trying to prove us that Honda Financial and North America is just nothing and they can do basically what they wantcause they are independently owned corporation forgetting the contract their owner signed with Honda Anyway the place is bad just watch out. I would NOT recommend it to my friend !!!!

Bait and switch....WE went in to buy a new 2011 Odyssey EX-L. We negotiated a price and then told them we would be back later that day to complete the deal. We arrived later that day. We were told that the van we negotiated on was sold and they had others. I checked their inventory sheet and sure enough they had a twin of the original car but had an "accessories" label on it. so they would not honor the original negotiated deal. Turns out the original "deal" vehicle had the exact same "accessories" label just on the top of the next page as it was on the bottom of the page. They expected me to pay a higher price because they made an "honest mistake" and we should not hold them to the negotiated price. They wanted us to take the hit because they didn't even understand which car they were negotiating on. They are the salesmen that give car salesmen a bad name. the only thing that was missing were the cheesey plaid sports jackets and the wacky wavy inflatable arm guys out front and the giant gorilla on the roof

Let me start by saying I only gave them a 4 for price because I was buying a highly desirable car, the Honda Odyssey Touring and they are very tough on price and no incentives for financing, even with 2 stunning (mid 800s) credit ratings. In all other categories they were AWESOME.With that aside, I started my day with a disappointing experience at DCH Old Bridge. Not even in the dealership for 15 minutes we were sent on our way. I was ready to say, forget the car, it's too much anyway and we said, "Let's try Open Road (Edison)". We checked their stock online and they had triple the number of cars that DCH had. They had the polished metal color we wanted to originally. So on a busy Sat. about 11AM, we walked through the front door and were greeted by Ramon Diaz (at DCH, I had to go find the reception desk off to the side and ask for a salesman). I said we were here to "make a deal" and right away he sat us down, asked if we needed refreshments etc etc. SUPER friendly and considerate, taking his time. We talked about the vehicle, he got one for us to drive, he showed us the one we wanted, we educated us to the features and such. He then took our trade-in for appraisal. He brought the numbers back, we haggled over everything, the dealer provided $400 mats (they ARE really nice) which we thought we were being scammed to buy, we haggled over the price of the trade in. We had an attitude already as we were SOURED by the DCH experience. I was getting skeptical that we were going to have a deal.Throughout it all, Ramon held his cool, smiled and TOLD THE TRUTH. We ended up naming OUR price and although we came close to leaving and he did have to "go in the back" to get permission (I am assuming), the dealership agreed to our terms. Yes, we thought an even lower price would have been fair 9to us), but in the end, ANY transaction has to have both parties walk off contented (and lose something) for it to be a "nice" experience. We got the car and a decent price and the dealer took our 10 year old battlewagon !We were NOT an "easy" sale, yet we were still treated throughout the whole process (thanks, Ramon!) as if we owned the place. I had my wife and young kids there to further complicate the process, but all of that didn't phase him. They also provided free refreshments all day long. I want to buy a car from a dealership that is "hungry" for a sale, don't you!? Don't you want to haggle over the price? Even better, give them the number you want, which is lower than theirs and have THEM acquiesce and accept? My money is hard earned and I want a voice in how it is spent. I want to feel as if I got the best bargain. Whether or not Open Road was the best bargain isn't the point. THEY MADE ME FEEL AS IF IT WERE THE BEST DEAL! This is really key. We walked away satisfied and happy.I see this dealer has a much poorer rating than DCH on this review site. I would have believed this 2 days ago. Now, "caveat emptor", my story here is factual, I am not making it up, I have no vested interest in either dealership. Read my review of DCH Old Bridge. It was NOT a pleasant experience at all. They'd be lucky to get a 1.Perhaps it's best to work with specific salesman mentioned in reviews, you cannot go wrong with Ramon Diaz at Open Road. Not once during the whole process did he leave us to work with someone else. He followed the new car, he made made sure it was prepped. He made sure the default user settings on the electronics were completed. He put in our radio stations. He kept coming by (it's LONG process) and telling us what he was doing to speed things up. He knew we were tired. The very last thing he did for us, as we were leaving, is to give us wheel locks (and had them installed) "on the house". A VERY nice touch.I don't know if he's going to read these reviews, from what I understand, they DO care about them, especially if they are unsolicited and "from the heart", Ramon, thanks for the service!

I went to this dealership to check the Honda Odyssey 2011 and test drive. The salesperson and his manager promised me heaven - Free 3-yrs oil change and a gift. Something bothered me right after signing the contract, the manager left without telling me what the gift was and the salesperson kept referring to the manager. A day or two, I found that they charge me the Etch and asked me to call American Honda financing. I called them and they can't find my record and told me the dealer could've gotten the financing somewhere else. I called the salesperson and manager to no avail, left messages and never got calls back. Now, I'm stuck with the following:1) No refund for the Etch2) No gift as promised and they're now telling me the General Sales Manager need to decide3) I don't feel like I'm getting the 3-yrs free oil changeI called the dealership today and the finance manager no longer works there, the salesperson doesn't answer his cell & office phone. Left messages and even emailed them to no avail. My salesperson was Akram ALi and his manager.DON'T EVER DEAL WITH THIS DEALERSHIP!!! THEY"LL PROMISE HEAVEN AND YOU'LL GET HELL!!!

The experience I had dealing with the service staff forced me to conclude that you can never trust this dealer for nothing. To describe the gentlemen I dealt with, at best was discriminative, rude, and inattentive to your requests and or problems and thinks a customer is only qualified enough to know how to turn the ignition on/off & drive and on top..they con you into getting expensive repairs done which are completely unrelated to your service issues. Last but not the least, they have no knowledge (or pretend to) and acts like you are talking gibberish when you suggest a possible reason you think might lead to having such issues with the car. The whole experience with this dealer lead me to believe that new or used car...ANYONE WHO BUYS FROM OPEN ROAD HONDA will never see good(acceptable) service or a better deal.I am presently looking to purchase a new car now (read my story) and WILL NEVER EVER BUY A HONDAEVER!! I only hope someone from Honda North America sales/marketing reads this so they know why people dont by Honda ...only because of such local dealers. My story.I have a used 2003 Honda Accord LX(bought from Sansone), and had no major mechanical problems until I visited Open Road Honda. I was there just for an oil change, I was told to leave the car and come back within few hours. After an hour waiting at nearby Wendys we got a call from Mike listing items which needs to be fixed and was told it could be safety risk if not fixed, like battery, some suspension bushing so on so forth!! So my wife as paranoid as she is...okayed on all and suggested Mike (not sure of the last name) that if he can look at one more thing, replace fuse for radio if its blown. Total $373.Picked up the car...saw that the battery was replaced and oil was changed whereas found no real difference in suspension, thats ok! Checked radio..it was still not working. Asked Mike if that was fixed? He came back saying all fuses are ok and seems like there is some loose wire or electrical issue. My wife took his word and told me. I checked the fuse box and pulled the 7.5 amp fuse for radio which was blown out showed to my wife. Then went to Strauss & Auto got a pack of 10 fuses for $2.17.The story does not end here, after the battery installation, I started having problems with the car..It would stall midway while driving. Next week after this oil change episode, Monday at 7:30am on my way to work my car stalled on Turnpike going 65 miles per hour. Could not get it started anyway..so had it towed to Open Road for repairs..towing expense $140 and day wasted for work.Nevertheless, explained everything to Ron Krusius and was told to leave my car and they will check and advise. Got his call in the afternoon they were unable to find anything except the oxygen sensor which needs replacing (parts and labor $283) and was told if I wanted to look into replacing the starter $689 and that might fix the problem, however he cannot say for sure and need to see after replacement if we still had this problem. I passed on the starter and just replaced the sensor knowing that it is no rocket science to know that the car started fine earlier and stalling midway has nothing to do with the starter and was hoping that this could be an isolated issue and sensor might fix it.But I was wrong the car broke down again this time on Route 287, this time I was frustrated and did not want to take the car to this dealer so had it towed to my house, where it is still sitting unfixed. It is such a struggle to get to work everyday with one car between my wife and me and a 5 month old.Anyways, I researched online and found out there are two problems which could result in such issues one ignition switch or main fuel relay. So called Ron and told him my findings, and was surprised to learn that he had a memory lapse and do not remember of us saying anything about stalling. Further, he would not make an attempt to make a good faith offer to change it to earn our trust and repeats the same slogan leave your car here and we will look at it (we will either steal/replace good parts from your car or our trainees will use your car as a guinea pig).I have just ordered main fuel relay from ehonda.com $33.42 and will replace it myself and swear never to step at Open Road Honda ever and will force my family and relatives never to go there aswell.

HONDA HELL - Don't leave a deposit - you will never get it back without calling your credit card company. The crew at Open Road Honda are terrible... it was hell at Open Road Honda on Route 1 in Edison, NJ. They lie, cheat and try to strong arm you, and those are their positive traits. First they will tell you they have a car to get you interested. They will make you wait for hours because they say they have the car you want - but after waiting for hours - poof - there is no car! They expect that you waiting around will drive you to be frustrated and then take another car... and that is what they offer you. When you finally put your foot down and say you want the car you were promised - then miraculously they say they can get it, but that is bull. They will ask for a large deposit, make you wait for weeks and then produce nothing and try to sell you a car they WANT off the lot as they tried in the first place. So you don't get the car you wanted but once again, they are trying to frustrate you into taking something they want. The best part, when you ask for your deposit back they strong arm you into not giving it back. Now technically they can't say you can't have it back, but they delay the process for days and pressure you to choose something else. I even went to Open Road Honda dealership to get the refund in person and they said they could not give it to me.I had to eventually get the credit card company to put in an investigation to cancell the charge as I was getting the run around. They held onto thousands of dollars and did not have the car we agreed on in our agreement.I understand the car selling game is a tough one and there are some questionable sales techniques, but these yaks at open road honda take it to a whole new level. I could deal with not getting the car we wanted (as per our contract) in the end, but when you get shafted, the dealership should refund your money immediately. You should not have to go to your credit card company to get the charges reverse. Don't ever leave a deposit at Open Road Honda in Edison.

This weekend my parents and I visited Open Road Honda. We are looking for a car for me as a gift for doing well in school. I have very high standards for what I look for in a car so we are shopping around to find the perfect fit for me. When I got to Open Road Honda we were greeted immediately which was nice compared to other dealerships where you are just standing around waiting to be helped. We were then introduced to a salesman, Naggi Khalil that would be helping us. After explaining our situation and what kind of car we were looking for he showed us the newest Accord and Civic models and told us the main features and benefits. I was very happy that Mr. Khalil looked at me and talked directly to me since it was ultimately going to be a car for me, even though my parents are paying for it. After seeing the newer models we were also shown a used Accord at a price that would allow for lower monthly payments. I did not make a decision yet but I am happy with my experience at Open Road Honda because everyone we dealt with, especially the salesman and sales manager, were very knowledgeable and friendly.

I purchased a new Honda Accord EX V6 for my mother last week from Open Road Honda through the American Express Auto Purchasing Program. The AMEX Auto Purchasing Program presumably guarantees the buyer a low price that the dealer is obligated to honor (but the dealer is allowed to tack on his own documentation fees and must add state tax and title fees). Gerald Wactor, the New Car Sales Consultant who assisted us was friendly and helpful and did indeed honor the base price quoted us by the AMEX Auto Purchasing Program (but, as you will read below, the documentation fee was another matter entirely). However, every question needed to be answered by a sales manager. The original sales manager we had, "Dean" (unfortunately, I do not have his last name), was rude, disrespectful and not at all helpful/interested in finding the best way for us to purchase the vehicle. At one point, he was so far out of line that Open Road Honda called him to the back of the dealership and had him replaced by another Sales Manager, Shree Justy. We did not proceed with the purchase until Dean was forced to come back and apologize in person for his outrageous behavior. Once Dean apologized, Shree assisted us and was much more professional and helpful than Dean and ultimately guided us through the purchase process. My principal complaints are as follows: 1. Open Road Honda slammed us with a $399 documentation fee at the very end of the purchase process. A quick look at Edmunds.com (while I was still at Open Road Honda) revealed that any documentation fee above $100 was exorbitant. When I mentioned this to Gerald and asked that something be done to reduce the documentation fee (and he in turn asked his managers) I received a flat, insistent "no" but without any explanation as to what the documentation fee includes and why it is so high. Not wanting to remain past the 4 hours I spent in the dealership and being exhausted from the unnecessary obstacles Open Road Honda put in the path of what could have been a simple and pleasant purchase of a Honda Accord, I relented and accepted the unfairly high documentation fee.2. When my family went to take delivery of the car, we found an additional 12 miles on the odometer that Open Road Honda was incapable of explaining. We suspect that one of their employees may have taken the car for a joyride. This suspicion was further bolstered by the fact that we found an empty Pepsi can in the cupholder in between the driver and passenger seats. Needless to say, the car was supposed to have been detailed in preparation for customer pickup and the fact that the Pepsi can in the cupholder was missed did not exactly inspire confidence on that front either.Overall, I am dissatisfied with my experience at Open Road Honda and would not recommend it either to AMEX Auto Purchasing Program buyers or to any other buyer for that matter. Open Road Honda takes its customers for granted and insults their intelligence (Dean, the sales manager mentioned above at one point attempted to have me believe that Open Road Honda had a high rating on Dealerrater.com--I checked on my blackberry on the spot and called his bluff, after which he said that Dealerrater.com only contained angry customer reviews anyway and was therefore not an accurate indicator of real customer satisfaction). This dealership clearly has not accepted that, thanks to the internet, people have a great deal of information about all of the unfair fees that dealers can charge and that customers only want to be treated fairly and with respect. Definitely, a dealership to be avoided.

Salesman is trying his best to make a sale and be friendly. Given the circumtances I stated, and as I come in with a price quote already, Everything should not need to take a long time. But Manager, D makes rediculous offer and try to make weird offers which really makes me angry. I already told him, that we want the deal done. So Mgr gave an offer which he cannot stand by what he offered. No word of honor. And he is very arrogant and give us an impression that he doesn't need the sale anyway. I have received a couple of feedback that they are very arrogant. BUt because, this dealer is nearer to my place I still tried it and got disappointed.

Arrogant.Even for known manufacturing defects, he did not want to help. This type of dealership is typical behaviour. try your best to sell the car. after sales service whether it is to take delivery of the car or for problems with the car after that, you are on your own. MY experience of honda vehicles has not pleasant and this tief dealership makes it worst. dont do any of the major services. just do what is required by manufacturer. everything else is not required

I cancelled my deal and they didnt return my deposit for my lease. I had to contact my credit card to get my money back two months later. No care for their customers.

Leased 2010 Honda Civic from this dealer in June. So far happy with car as well service this dealer has provided. This is my 3rd Vehicle from this dealer and service has only gotten better with time. I was never pushed or hassle into buying anything I didn't want. Got the Price I wanted and dealer was very curtious. I would go back to Open Road Honda and purchase any new or CPO Honda if needed.

These People are real FRAUD, they just want to make money...will make you sit for hours....force to buy the cars that they have in stock, if you ask for Cat color or interiors color of your choice these people suddenly raise the price.still i could reach a decent price with them and thgey promise me to deliver the car by thursday, then sudenly on tuesday i get call saying that they sell the cars only to GREEN CARD holders or CITIZENS of US...it came as a shock to me as they had asked for my copy of my work authorisation permit, my SSN card and DRiver's license....I really got upset when they refused to return my $1000 deposit on saturday saying that they are not authorised to credit the money back to my account on weekends and i need to come on some weekday, though i had set up an appointment to get back my money.I would never recommend anyone to go on this dealership, if you want to save yourself from additional stress that these people give you to return your money. These people really SUCK......

I went to buy a car to openroad honda because i heard that on EBC radio ( 1170 AM) they were offering very good price.I met a sales man name : Bharat Soni.. 100% fraud guy. We agreed on the price and i have him $ 1000 deposit. I wanted to buy car at my south carolina address so i told him clearly that i will register the car myself. When i went home i received a call from him saying he can not give me the car , if i want car i have to register in new jersey. I bought a car from other dealers in the past and i was able to register the car in southcarolina. Lots of people buy car in nj and register in other states. i went to see bharat soni and i told him i do not want to buy car so i need my money back and he told me he can not give me money plus i have to pay $ 250 documentation fee if i do not want car and we got involve in argument and he started using bad words and told me i can do what ever i want but he will give me my money back. Finally manager vijay java got involved and he promised methat i will get check at my house in 10 days.. nothing happen.. i went back..i contacted general manager and then finally after 1.5 months i got my money back..NEVER EVER GO TO THIS DEALER..I KNOW PRICES ARE LOW BUT PEOPLE ARE NOT NICE AND DO NOT EVER TRUST WHAT THEY TELL YOU ABOUT FREE OIL CHANGE OR ANY GIFT..

I visited this dealership to purchase a 2010 Honda Accord and was deeply disappointed wth their attitude and service. The sales associate, Abdul Fraser, was rude and disrespectful. He not only did not take our business seriously, he ridiculed and laughed at us. In addition, he was not willing to negotiate a fair price for the car. He said: "I feel sorry for you." Overall, a horribe customer service and sales experience. Pricing is not bad, but they simply do not understand the concept of respect and fairness.

I wanted to highlight the excellent experience I had at Open Road Honda. They provided me with superior quality of service at an exceptional price.Mr Rafique the General Sales Manager made himself available to me. The SalesmanI worked with Tejas and Matthew were professional and helpful. Open Road was honest and kept to its word and was very transparent about everything. This is my second interaction with them. The first was for a honda pilot lease for my friend. He is also pleased with them.

I went to Open Road Honda to get a new Honda CR-V. The sales man refused to give a test drive. He only agreed after his manager asked. The sales options were ridiculous. The sales man and his manager, Tom were very unfriendly and felt like didnt want to sell a car to me. It seemed like they were hoarding me seeing a single woman trying to buy a car and they were trying to give me a bad option. The sales person did email after a week to see if was still interested in buying the car. I went to Planet Honda after that and bought the car from them. The sales staff was realy good there.Overall, I would not go to or recommend Open Road Honda again.Thank you!

Bad dealership. I was ready to buy that night, but walked out.I felt as if everything was a double-talk scam. I couldn't understand what the price of the vehicle actually was.I was shown a piece of paper with numbers scribbled all over it by 2 different people in 2 colors of ink. Circles, arrows, + signs, and ++ signs all over the page. When I asked for a copy I was told they were not allowed to give it to me.NOT ALLOWED TO GIVE THE CUSTOMER A WRITTEN QUOTE ?!!!I asked whether they had 0% financing like Toyota had, and was told yes. Later, the price of the car went way up and I was told it was to cover the cost of 0% financing.I stayed way after I decided not to buy at that dealership just to see how ridiculous things could get.I bought the next day at DCH Academy Honda, they were great.

I went in to look at a Honda Pilot EX. They had one I wanted, but I wasnt just ready to buy it then. I todl him I would have to come back in a few weeks. They kept telling me that it will be gone,so I like others said I would take my chances. I came back a month later, and the truck was still there! When I came back this time, I asked him to run the numbers and give me the estimate. When he came back, the numbers were so high, I was not interested at all. Then he kept saying that he can lower my payment, but the down payment will have to increase. At that point, the sales person actually asked me if how I would pay for the vehicle tonight! He asked cash, credit or check. I said I wasnt planning on paying for it because the price was high, but if they could get my payment to what I wanted it to be, I would then pay via check. Would you believe the sales person had the balls to ask me, "Would you be able to go to the computer on line and show me that you have the money in your checking account?" I was so shocked that he had asked me that, like he didnt believe I had the money.. and I just left!

Worst salesmanship ever. Its hard to understand whether these people really want to sell their cars. I visited other dealerships before coming here and had a good idea what prices are being offered elsewhere. Open Road Honda quoted me a high price and argued that there is not way other dealerships could be lower. I asked Vito's manager whether he would beat a quote from another dealer. He agreed but after showing him an official quote from another dealer he blew me off and implied that I was lying. This is the worst dealership ever. They were very rude and unprofessional. The cars are overpriced and there are too many salesman that have nothing to do. Go to another dealer!

I went there to purchase my first new car. The salesman was such a braggart about how he was the top salesman (something I can care less about). I did end up purchasing the car, but when I met with financing, "oops, she forgot to adjust the number to the bargained amount, and had it at original MSRP price." THankfully I checked my numbers before I agreed to it. I feel anyone else could've had the wool pulled over their eyes. I got the warranty. Signed for everything. When I was presented with my car, I was given one remote key and one valet key. I was supposed to have 2 remotes and one valet. Long story short, my salesman, Justin aka Jay Johnson had lost the key, and although I called and left numerous messages at the desk, for ONE MONTH he did not respond to anyone. I just got my second key TODAY, 1.5months after I bought the car, and that was through talking to managers, who were very helpful. (I think they just didn't want an irate customer). Otherwise, as far as service, and other people, they were all friendly and helpful.

I bought Honda Accord in August 2008. I was told that I will receive free oil change for 3 years as soon as rate the dealership. One year later, I have not heard anything. Whenever I called, I was told that salesman will call back. I left message for manager and there was no response. then in August, 2009 I went there and talked with the manager who told that salesman does not work there anymore. When requested about the oil change, the manager told me that he has no idea. This is one arrogant dealership and I have brought 3 cars from that place. I will not recommend this at all. If anyone wants to buy at this place then go there with arrgant attitude and BE RUDE TO SALESMAN AND MANAGER if your time is wasted.

On September 26, 2009, my wife and I went into Open Road Honda (at approximately 3pm). We went in with two cars which we were looking to replace with one Honda Civic and one Honda Accord. Both cars that we were looking at would be fully loaded. We were planning to trade in an older Honda Civic and a new Nissan (which we are leasing and are not pleased with. We are looking to get out of the lease with a new car). We met with the sales person on the floor and explained to him that we were looking to do a two-car deal. I explained to him my issue with the car that is on lease. He basically ignored the Nissan (even though I told him that any deal for two cars would be contingent on them taking the Nissan). The salesperson said "I can only do one deal at a time - so let's focus on the Civic". Fine, no big deal. At 4pm, we took a new Civic for a test drive (if you can call 1.2 miles in traffic on Rt. 1 a test drive) and came back. I said "okay, let's look at the numbers for the Civic". He comes back with a number that did not include my trade. I requested that they appraise the old Civic I was looking to trade. Around 4:45, they came back with a price that was significantly less than what other dealerships have offered me. I was quite upset, and requested that they come back with better numbers for the trade and for the new car, otherwise there would be no deal.At this point, I also requested that they take a look at the Nissan I was trying to trade in. After about 30 minutes of not seeing anyone, a manager came over. I explained my issue to the manager, who immediately said that they wouldn't be able to do anything for me unless I am willing to take a hit on my Nissan. I told him that I haven't even tested the Accord yet, but since I have owned Accords in the past, I should be okay to work on numbers. He came back with numbers that were ridiculously high (obviously trying to price-gouge me). After about 20 minutes, I realized that they hadn't really appraised my Nissan. I asked them for an appraisal, which led them to complain quite a bit. At this point, it was about 6pm (three hours after we entered the dealership), and my wife and I were both getting hungry. So, me being a good husband, I said that I'd think about their numbers over dinner, and I'd stop back in at 7:00 with my final answer. Since I wasn't too keen on the deal, I figured this would be a polite, yet obvious, way to leave the dealership without wasting any more of my or their time. The sales manager began trying to close the deal - requesting a deposit of $500 to hold the deal, then trying to incite fear and panic in me by stating that if I didn't put a deposit in, the car will "most likely" be gone if I came back at 7 (really??). I laughed and said "Thanks, but I'll take my chances". He seemed very angry that the deal was not going to get signed, but at that point, I didn't really care. He asked where we were planning on going for dinner, and said "Well, if I know that place, you won't be back by 7, just put $500 down on this car and then go for dinner". I said (politely) "No thanks, I'd like to think the whole deal through. I don't want to make a mistake I will regret."Eventually, after "promising" that I'll call him with my decision before 7pm, we left. After a brief discussion, we decided that it was better if we didn't go to a restaurant, and just went home. We reached home at about 6:45 (20 minutes after we left the dealership) and found that there were 3 new messages on our home answering machine. ALL THREE messages were from the sales person at Honda! Within TWENTY minutes, he had called THREE times! Each message got progressively ruder. Over the course of the evening, the salesperson and the manager had called a total of EIGHT TIMES! It was worse than being stalked by a jealous ex. I would never recommend anyone WALK into this dealership. The staff was rude and borderline stalker! This was one of the worst experiences I've ever had.

I am a first time buyer of a new car and once he new it, he took me for a ride. I sure did not do my home work properly before I visited the dealer. If I had done I would not have bought my car with them. He sold me a car much above the price I would have got with other dealers and my trade in was much below the market rate. They never even bothered to talk to me about the accessories which I had to insist and ask for. After all that he charges atleast 50% more on the accosories than on the Honda web site. He has his own stories when asked why the difference.

On August 17th,2009 my husband and I walked into Open Road Honda in Edison,NJ. We already did all of our research regarding the new car we wished to purchase. We went through their internet sales department because of their no hassle special pricing. Over the phone,we made sure they had the exact car that we wanted, that they were participating in the C.A.R.S. government clunker program and that they would take my 2007 Honda Civic EX as a trade. This dealership was over an hour away from our house,so it wasnt a convenient trip. When we got there,we were introduced to Wajid Rauf, who was an internet salesman. They researched my husbands 98 Ford Explorer and saw that it was eligible for the $4500 government incentive. Then they took my trade to have it appraised. Our salesman came back 45 minutes later with a paper that had $10,700 circled on it from the appraisal department. He did not show us this paper,my husband just happened to see it. He walked over to the managers desk with that paper and came back to us with the offer of $9500! This was the fourth dealership we had been to and every one of them had offered us $11,500! We argued and they said that that was what they valued my car at. They were $1000 less in their no-hassle asking price which got us in the door, but offered $2000 less for my trade! After going back and forth many times between us and one of the sales managers and not being able to get the trade value increased to $10,700,we asked to see the appraisal sheet. They both acted like they didnt know what we were talking about. They got up and involved Jamie Vasco a sales manager. They came back;apologized stating they never saw the sheet until now and said they would give us $10,700! With that, the deal was done. We signed a purchase order with the VIN number to our new car and left a $500 deposit. We were told there was no rush to bring in our clunker and we could do so when we picked up our new vehicle. Our car was in transit to the dealership and would not be there for about 12 days. We were unable to speak with the finance manager that night since it was 11pm. We were told we could do so when we picked up the car. I was uncomfortable with that,so the next day I called the dealership to get an exact APR and payment for the car. Wajid Rauf called me back with another approximate APR and said my husband was unable to be on the loan because of his credit. I told him that he had to be to be eligible for the government incentive. The clunker was in his name only and that is what the program required. The following day,he called me back with an exact APR but again without my husband on. I stated that we would be getting a loan from another bank for the vehicle and that we would be dropping off our clunker the next day. While we were on our way to the dealership, we received a phone call from Wajid Rauf. He stated that the government was out of money for the program and it was over. We called the governments hotline for this program and they said that was not true. We continued on our way there to dispute this. We had a signed purchase order with the Cash for Clunkers accepted on it and it was signed before the program ended. Later,we found out that the government was ending the program on Monday August 24th at midnight. The dealership was unable to rob us for thousands on the cost of this vehicle or make money off of the financing,so they chose to not accept the binding contract! We spoke with Jamie Vasco again. He told us they would not honor the C.A.R.S. deduction. We went above him to the general manager,Steven Park, who also said he would not honor the agreement. We contacted the police and had them document what was happening. One officer actually told the manager that this was not right. We also called the government hotline again and another dealership we had been to. Both stated that both parties signed a binding contract and they had taken a deposit on the car. They advised us to get a lawyer and take them to court. We were told that because C.A.R.S. $4500 was written on the contract, that we had a leg to stand on. We are in the process of obtaining an attorney. We will never again attempt to purchase a car from this dealership!!! We plan to write a nice letter about our experience to every website that allows feedback about dealerships. We just hope that people will read what happened to us and that they will steer clear of Open Road Honda.

I experienced of of worst. I finished deal with internet specialist for Honda CR-V. When I visited, they didn't honor the deal. At first they tried to disqualify me for the cash for clunker program with wrong information. They said that if I apply for cash for clunker, I will not get any discount. They said that they have trouble with government to get paid for clunker program. This dealership filled with liar. Don't waste your time with them.

This dealership is the high pressure sale people dread about. I tried to get a new car through the CARS program. They didn't drop the price more than the typical internet price discount everyone has. Their fees were almost $1500. Go to PA for deals. The have state regulated fees and are int the $200 range.I recieved the following from someone regarding internet car shopping:If a price appears too good to be true, it is. A lot of dealer's advertised prices or prices they give out over the internet have a catch. A lot of times there will only be one vehicle available at the advertised or provided price and chances are it will already be sold. In most cases the advertised price or the price provided over the internet will NOT include:- Destination fees are usually around $600 or more depending on the model - Carpeted floor mats - Dealer prep fees are some times as much as $500 In most cases, dealers will include the following in internet prices:- Recent College Graduate Rebates are usually around $400 or more (they assume you will qualify) - Rebate money in the place of special financing when you may not be eligible to receive one or both Unfortunately, consumers get sucked in by these misleading price quotes from other dealerships. That is the purpose of these low ball price quotes. Once you are at the store the deal changes resulting in a bad experience

My family was interested in buying a 2009 Honda Civic through the Clunker for Cash deal. We went to Open Road after dealing with our previous Sales Rep at DCH Academy Honda (Ask for Paul in Sales, he is outstanding) where we could not get a deal that was good enough. However, DCH has worked with us in the past and we were pleased with the experience nonetheless. At Open Road we got a good deal and had signed the contract for the vehicle. We were told the next day to come in at 10:30 am to pick up the car. At the dealership there was a meeting among the sales group and they informed us they would not be honoring the Clunker for Cash deal and that we needed to spend another $4500 on the car. We were completely outraged. The manager was very disrespectful to my family as well as telling us no dealership within 20 miles is doing the Clunker for Cash deal. As well as basing their decision upon a report in the Star Ledger. I spoke to the reporter for the Star Ledger after leaving the dealership who told me that he was shocked they would not honor it.Since they obviously do not want to sell cars, I called another dealership (DCH as a I previously mentioned.) where I came in told them my problem. In less than two hours I walked away with the Cash for Clunker deal and a better price for the civic. Shame on this dealership I will never EVER recommend them.

I found their showroom and lot filled with vehicles carrying expensive dealer installed "options". I was not offered a test drive. My salesman was constantly trying to close me before giving me a firm price on either a new Honda or my trade-in. He did not reveal that a "factory promotion" was in process. He would not get a manager to appraise my trade until I asked a third time. Rather, he told me that whatever I saw in Kelley's Blue Book was several thousand dollars off. When I rejected a ridiculous offer (trade-in and purchase wise), a sales manager told me that they were trying to make the unpleasant car buying experience as painless as possible by giving me a very good offer and that I should be pleased with it. I explained that I had been buying cars since the 1968 model year and that my work involved far bigger and more stressful negotiations. The following day I purchased an EX-L from Honda of Freehold. That was a more pleasant experience with a thoroughly professional organization. There was negotiation, but, with that organization, I did not feel that they were trying to take advantage of me.

Not only does anyone in this dealership NOT listen to the customer and what they are looking for, but wastes tremendous amounts of time. I AGREED ON A PRICE FOR A 2009 ACCORD EX-L V6 LEASE WITH SALES MANAGER, JAMIE VESCO. I gave my credit card for the deposit and not five minutes later he came to me with A HIGHER MONTHLY PAYMENT AND WANTED MORE MONEY DOWN. Mathew Mathai was condescending. I wanted to see a vehicle on the lot and he refused to show it to me for unknown reasons.Needless to say, I walked out. And, will recommend to everyone NOT to visit this dealership.I HAD CALLED THE GENERAL MANAGER, KEVIN PARK, TO COMPLAIN ABOUT MY EXPERIENCE. A WEEK LATER AND NO RETURN PHONE CALL. Shame on you! HORRIBLE experience, i would not recommend this dealership to my worst enemy, the salesman we were dealing with (not Jamie) did not listen to a single request we made as far as quoting, he barely spoke english and had a blank piece of paper on which he would sit and write a bunch of numbers to where i no longer knew what i was looking at, The manager jamie came along and did the same thing everytime the salesman would run to get a new "offer" (which was never really a different offer just a bunch of the same numbers scribbled on a white sheet of paper) he would be gone for 10-20 minutes at a time, my family and i ended up leaving but not before the manager said "we will never find the car we want for under 30,000" we went to DCH academy Honda in Old bridge and got the EXACT car we wanted for a price well below 30,000 ....beware of this place it is awful, and very very un-professional....

We leased a 2006 honda oddessey from them for a great price Now that the lease was maturing we went back to fiance a 2009 Honda Pilot WE went into open road with the understanding that they were a high volume dealership. We spoke to the salewoman and gave her the information on the Pilot we wanted we told her we were on a strict budget. After sitting there for about 15 minutes she came back with monthly amounts that were wrong. She went back and did change the monthly amount just by adding to the amount of time on the loan She went back and this time Hassan the (manager) came over and said the Pilot ex-l was out of our range he could put us in a ex for the amount we were looking for. SO we left That night I went on to a site for internet pricing and asked 5 honda dealership if they could do a deal on the ex-l in my range all 3 came back Princeton,DCH,Bayridge all said they could. OPen road wanted more information All of the other dealerships called and we spoke about pricing and fiancing I called open road asking them if they could give me a bottom line price all they said was to come in and discuss I said no and later that day we went to DCH and purchased the 2009 EX-L in matter of 2 hours

I have no idea what kind of business you are running but today I was treated very poorly from your Service Department (Neil, your service manager - horrible person, was no help at all - did not say one word to the tech, Jon and not even a "sorry" for Neil) plus the disrespect of my car when it's in your hands.I leased my 2009 Honda Accord EX-L V6 on December 3rd, 2008 and I have brought my vehicle back four times since then. See below:1. A week I had vehicle I noticed a paint defect on the drivers side door, which need to be repainted per my request because no one from your dealership offered to have it repainted.2. Once I got my car returned from the repainting situation, I have had trouble starting the vehicle - brought back to your Service Department and they did find a code on the drivers side door that they replace the part.3. Once I got my car returned back, it was snowing and I put on my rear/side mirrors defroster and noticed that the drivers side mirror defroster was not working anymore. Needless to say when they replaced the part on the drivers side door they disconnected the side mirror defroster.4. Brought my car in for service on Jan. 15th in the late afternoon and picked it up today, Jan. 19th at noon. Today was the worst experience I have had with your Service Department. When I got into my car I took noticed that they put 98 miles on my lease vehicle - THAT I DID NOT AUTHORIZED. Noticed the inside of my car was dirty and there were lollop sticks in my car and the towels (that I purchased) were all filled of dirt. This totally uncalled for especially for a customer. I had to fight for your Service Department to have my car clean. Later I spoke to the tech, Jon that has been working my car - he told me that he took my car home (which I did not authorized) and I had asked him why my car was so dirty - he told me that his kid was in my car. How do I not know if Jon put his kid in my nephew car seat? JON HAD NO RESPECT FOR MY CAR WHEN IT WAS IN HIS HANDS. Jon should be written up for the disrespect to me and my thirty thousand dollar car. Also, how do I know that he did not beat on my vehicle when he took to his home (which I did not authorized)? Since Jon did not have my authorizing to take MY CAR to his home - I want you to confirm back in an email that you will take off 98 miles if I decided to returned the car back after my lease is up. I would never have given permission for anyone to take my car home especially if they got into an accident under my car insurance. I realize that you told me it would go under Honda's insurance but that is not the point. Just saying if Jon got into accident with my car and it had to be fixed why- would I wanted that car back.

Bharat Soni is a liar, I was shopping for 2 cars, a civic for my son and a pilot for my wife, I told bharat soni to give me his best price, when he did, I told him he was higher than others, and to give me a out the door price, he said you want good deal, just come here with your best price and I will beat it, so we went there, and he did beat the price by $100 but then added 349 documentary fee, 100 for wheel locks and 299 for etching and refuse to reduce it or take them off, so now he was 600 more than my best price per car, he is a liar and was very rude to us, saying the cars were alraedy etched so we must pay 299, also documentary fee of 349, that is ridiculous, sowe left went to the other dealer, who was nicer, cheaper, no fees, for wheel locks or etching(he included it) and documentary fee was also cheaper by 170. do not go to open road, they lie, especially bharat soni

LIARS, UNPROFESSIONAL, RUDE!! BEWARE, BEWARE, BEWARE.DATE OF INCIDENT: Jan 21 2008I was out to buy a black or gray Civic EX-L and I spoke to LISA GRACIA. She said she can arrnage the black car for me and can provide the VIN as soon as I put the deposit. I told her that I need a clause in the deal that if the car is not delivered till the decided time I reserve the right to take my deposit back. She agreed. All this was on phone. I told her I am coming right now. When I reached there on monday, she said that she cannot provide the VIN as the black Civic EX-L is sold but she can give me the VIN tomorrow and the car by wednesday. I said thats fine but I need the clause to protect my deposit. She said that she cannot do that either. When I asked her why she wasted my time by agreeing to all this over the phone, her response was that I am putting lot of pressure on her and that she is doing a "FAVOUR" to me!! (WHAT THE HECK)I was annoyed and told her that we are here to do business and I am paying the asking price..where is the question of favour.I told her that I want the car by Saturday and if she can arrange by wednesday whats the harm in giving in writing. Her manager DAVID CHAVEZ was rude and said if you want to buy the car its fine otherwise it does not matter to him. (Thats gr8...as a customer thats the last thing to you want to feel...this dealer made it clear that they do not appreciate my business).LISA AND DAVID are not confident at all. They will lie to you and won't feel ashamed of it. Its a put off.LISA also told me she has a gray CIVIC in stock and when I asked her to show me the car...she came back saying that the car is in transit!!What a set of liars!! OPEN ROAD HONDA EDISON thinks the Indians living in EDISON do not have option if they have to buy a honda. (WRONG)I went to VIP Honda (www.viphonda.com) and the guys there were very professional. They treat you well and appreciate your business. The best thing was they BEAT THE DEAL I HAD FROM OPEN ROAD HONDA!! I have bought a CIVIC EX-L from VIPHONDA now.Since I live in Edison, I paid atleast 100 dollars to visit VIPHONDA. But you know what, I still ended up saving 375 USD by making a deal with them!!OPEN ROAD HONDA EDISON SUCKS...THEIR STAFF SUCKS...THEY ARE A BUNCH OF SHAMELESS LIARS!!

I bought a car from them a month ago.The sales guy was great. The finance manager was able to convince us to get an extended warranty,They said someone's going to call me when my plate becomes available, which the sales guy said about 10 days.I called them repeatedly and after a month the girl there said it's been there, and that they have called.I told her I have an answering machine and that my celphone is always within reach and I never got a call from them. She could not tell me, specifically when they called cause they never did. Then just recently I got the extended service agreement that's printed on a Nissan booklet, and it says there my dealer is Openroad Morristown NJ, I called the guys from Morristown they said I should call OR Edison, cause there's obviously a mix-up.I called Open road Honda, the operator didn't know where to connect me, after three departments I was connected to Finance. The finance guy said, it's normal practice for them to route extended warranties to dealers within their group with lower rate for the same extended warranty. I asked even if I bought a Honda and not a Nissan? My simple mind cannot fathom their "usual practice", as he said this is normal practice to dealers.I pointed out that this wasn't explained to us at the time of purchase. He reassured I can still call the Nissan number for a Honda question...??????...Not so happy about the aftersales

I went to this dealership because my girlfriend leased a car here. I asked to test drive the 07 Honda Civic. Almost 10 minutes later the salesman came out to let me drive it. I started backing out and he told me to stop. He said he had a meeting scheduled and he would get someone else. The 2nd salesman comes into the car and does not talk to me at all. For the whole test drive he just pointed to tell me where to go. Didn't say anything about the car at all. When I got back to the dealership he says, "So are you going to buy it?" I said no I need to look at the car more and think about it. As me and my dad were looking at the car the only things he says to me are it comes with floor mats and it has wheels! Worst salesman ever. Can't remember his name but it was of Indian heritage. I did talk to someone inside about price but he was the only negotiating he was going to do was take $100 off. Good bye!

UNPROFESSIONAL, INCOMPETENT, RIP OFF -- DON'T BOTHERI wanted to buy an Honda Element EXP with two-wheel drive and the first place i went to was Open Road Honda because it's nearby. I went to the website and they gave me a price which was reasonable. When I went there and talked to the salesperson Bharat Soni, he showed me what he said was the car I wanted to buy and we proceeded to sign a contract. But after I gave him all my personal information and put down a deposit, he came back and said the car he showed me was actually a 4-wheel drive, which is more expensive.. He said he didn't realize it was a 4-wheel drive and at this point he told us he didn't have a 2WD.After awhile, he came back with a list of four cars that he said he could he swap with other dealers to get me the one I wanted. This was Wednesday, and he said he would call me back by Friday.Friday came, and no phone call. When I called him Saturday, he said the inventory person was out and he would call me back Monday. Monday came and went and I didn't hear from him. I called Tuesday, and he said Monday was a holiday, and he would let me know Wednesday. I didn't hear from him Wednesday. When I called Thursday, he told me he couldn't find the car. So, what happened was: I signed the contract, he didn't have the car, he promised to find an exchange and get it and left me hanging for a week while he held the deposit -- and I still didn't get me the car. Bharat also claimed he didn't call me back because he was "really busy." This was both unprofessional and insulting. Then I asked to talk to the sales manager, Vijay. Finally, I got someone who was at least responsive. Vijay promised to refund my deposit, but it took them a week to do so. In total, they had my deposit for three weeks. When I went in to ask them to process my paperwork for the refund, Bharat tried again to sell me a 4-wheel drive by saying he could get the car immediately. But that 4-wheel drive car was $1350 more than the one I wanted to buy.I finally bought my 2wd element at Academy Honda in Old Bridge. They had to trade to get it, but they were professional about it. As another sign of how awful Open Road Honda is, the 4-wheel drive at Academy Honda was almost $500 cheaper than the one at Open Road. The 2wd drive I bought was cheaper too.I also got a free wheel cover lock from Academy Honda. Bharat of Open Road wanted to sell me one for $106.To sum up, Open Road Honda was unprofessional, a rip-off, poor at communicating, slow to act and depending on your point of view, liars. AVOID. See my review of Academy Honda for a more positive experience.

AVOID - AVOID - AVOIDAfter calling around to some of the NJ dealerships, I called Open Road Honda. They were about an hour away, but I have heard their name and figured it'd have a good reputation.I told the saleswoman the best deal I was offered and I asked her if she could match or beat it. She handed me over to Hassan, whom I believe is a sales manager of some sort.He told me he will match the deal and I agreed. I drove down to the dealership and asked my fiance to meet me there since the car was going to be for her. She got to the dealership at 6:30pm and asked for Hassan. She told Hassan that I (her fiance) called and that we wanted the Accord Coupe. He said he'll have someone bring it around for us to look at. 20 min later, a salesguy approached my fiance and told her that the car was actually taken to get detailed and that it should be back in 20 minutes for us, but in the meantime, we should finalize the paperwork. She held off on doing so until I got there at 7pm. When I walked in, I told them that I will fill-out the paperwork when I see the car. They said it shouldn't be much longer. At 7:30pm, I asked why it was taking so long and they said that they were sorry and that it shouldn't be longer. An hour later (total of 1 1/2 hours later), the car was still "being detailed." At 8:45pm, I saw the salesman talking with the salesmanager and I knew something was wrong. I asked them what the problem was and they said there had been a mistake--the car I wanted (color preference-wise) was actually a demo-loaner car with 1300 miles on it, but that to close the deal, I should pick-out another color. The dealership was closing in 15 minutes. It is my belief that this was a bait-n-switch tactic to have me compromise what color I wanted. If I give them the benefit of the doubt, they dealership shouldn't have wasted my time and they should have made-sure the right care was available. This was another "bait-n-switch" tactic that a Honda dealer did to me so I am done with Honda cars (incl Accura). See my other complaint with MADISON HONDA---a dealership that is worse, in my opinion.

Carlos Diaz, Internet sales manager is rude and arrogant.<br>The price they suggested was worthy of long distance driving down there, but they charged me cost for pre-installed options they did not mention about.<br>Also, they did not check my car after washing, and finally forgot my floor mat. It's been 15 days since they told me they would send floor mat by UPS or FED-EX, and I am still driving without my floor mat yet.<br>I have complained about this problem, but the employee who sold me the car just told me that it was wash bay's fault, not his. Also, he did not forget to say that he was not working for UPS or FED-EX, so he had nothing to do with delivery delay.<br>I am planning to complain to Honda Motors about this inconvinience.<br><br>

I leased a honda civic on Memorial Day. I came into bring in a part to the used car manager and I WAS SEXUALLY HARRASSED. Trying to be helpful, he asked me to follow him so they can fill up my car with a tank of gas. He said things to me that were so inapproiate that I couldn't even mention it on this website. Things that you might hear as a guest on the Howard stern show.<br><br>The General Manager did call me back and they admitted that they the man did state he made these comments to me. They gave him a warning and wrote him up. They stated that they he wouldn't do it again. I never received a call from the owner of the dealership.<br><br>I was wondering if anybody would want to buy a car from a dealership that employs managers that would sexually harass customers. My feeling is stay far away from this dealership.<br>
