We had the pleasure of doing business with Curtis and he really went above and beyond to help my husband by a truck! Everyone at this dealership is very friendly and they keep you updated and respond very quickly to all inquiries. Curtis is a great guy and we enjoyed doing business with him! We recently purchased a used vehicle from Robert at Palmetto Cars of West Columbia SC via Autotrader.com. Robert assured me that he had personally driven the vehicle, it ran great and I'd be very happy with it's condition. I was unable to test drive it myself as I live 850 miles away and was about to have surgery for bladder cancer. I took Palmetto Cars at their word (big mistake) and after having the vehicle professionally transported to my home, my wife and I realized immediately that it wasn't driveable. Our local repair center found that the rear differential was shot and replaced it at a cost of $2,930.00. I've since left 5 messages with both Robert and Curt (sales reps) to have the owner (Don) contact me. After patiently waiting 8 days now I have to assume he has no intention of responding back. The lack of response should tell everyone reading this that they're lacking in character and certainly don't have their customers best interest in mind, only the $$ they take from you. Keep in mind, this was a required repair that took place IMMEDIATELY upon possession of the vehicle and not a mechanical failure 30 or more days down the road. If I was able to give Don and Palmetto Cars of West Columbia SC a zero star rating I certainly would. Don't be fooled by their positive reviews on their website as they control what and what isn't posted (my low rating and comments have been removed). I will however continue to warn other potential buyers through reviews with Autotrader, Carguru and the Columbia Better Business Bureau. Buyer beware! Please spend your hard earned money somewhere other than here. In response to the owners comments below; How long you've been in business is irrelevant and your personal website ratings are based on what you allow to be published. As for the driver, this was a large transport carrier They transport everything from new vehicles to totaled/parts cars. He moved it from your lot onto his carrier. That's it. Why would he be concerned about the mechanical condition of this vehicle? He wouldn't and you know that. As for waiting a week to contact Palmetto Cars, that's a lie. I spoke with Robert as soon as the vehicle arrived and I had the opportunity to actually attempt to drive it. The time delay was 3 days due to the time involved in transportation. I continued to attempt to reach the owner on 4 other occasions, having to leave messages each time. I called you unsuccessfully again once I had the actual repair cost in hand, yet you couldn't afford me the time and effort to talk to me. You sir are a liar and a sorry excuse for an adult.
