I don’t even know where to begin!!! Needless to say, the service department at MINI of Alexandria ROCKS!! I went to the dealership because my hazard light was on for a day light replacement on my 2017 MINI Cooper. I was hesitant on going to the dealership in fear of astronomical costs. I decided to give them a call and was greeted by Lauren. She was able to squeeze me in on the same day. After inquiring about the cost, she later transferred me to Frank. Frank assured me that I’ll be fine and he looked forward to seeing me. I live 30 minutes from the dealership but it was definitely worth the ride! When I arrived, I was greeted by Miguel (I think that’s his name) and he gathered my information. I sat in the showroom and waited patiently while my car was being serviced. I later received a text from Frank (and I saved his number in my phone) letting me know the status of my vehicle. About an hour later, Frank came to the showroom to greet me and updated me on my car. He was pleasant and personable. I later paid for my vehicle and was greeted by Ms. Clarice. My goodness, her customer service was impeccable!!! I joked about having to go “up a hill” to get to my car. Ms. Clarice left her desk to grab a bottle of cold water and handed it to me. When I got in my car, I didn’t realize that my car was vacuumed and wash until I saw the card placed on my dashboard. I purchased the MINI last year as a treat to myself since both my children were off to college. Prior to that, I’ve been with Lexus of Alexandria for years. I would highly recommend this establishment to any owners of the MINI family!! I wish they had ten stars⭐️ to give!!! I’ll definitely will be back again.

I used their Valet Service...worked out perfectly. The annual servicing, maintenance, plus safety & emissions tests were all done well...and on time. Our Mini was returned at the end of the day as requested. My bride of 50 years was thrilled...and that ain't easy!!!

I recently was looking to lease a new compact car and MINI was on my list of options. I arrived about 20 minuites before they closed one evening, and Matt gladly took me for a test drive, and answered every question that I had, even though I was keeping him past closing. I decided to return the next day to see the car in the light, and his manager Ahmed took great care of me and made sure that I was happy with the deal that I was getting. I had a good experience purchasing my Mini. Jamaal McKenzie helped me at 8pm to test drive a car. He answered all of my questions patiently even though I told him I was not buying that night, if at all. I left the dealership that night and emailed him a day or so later. The car was still available.He sent me financial information so we could get the ball rolling. When I went in to purchase the car, Jamaal showed me the features and handed me over to Andrew in finance. Andrew had good customer skills. He let me know what options/plans were available to buy and did not push when I declined. I have no buyer's remorse. My only "complaint " is the facility is too small. There is a seating area but the cubicles are right there too. I wanted more privacy when giving my personal information. The seating area was always full. Also I wish Passport Mini could have matched what another dealer offered me for my old car. It resulted in me doing separate transactions with 2 dealerships and not being able to transfer my tags.

If you can, go in and work with Vinnie. He was very responsive to my questions even before I went into the dealership to look at cars. He took great care of me throughout the process of buying my first MINI and I'd go back to this dealership again and again. David also really helped me out with choosing the actual car I purchased. After 25 years of owning Hondas and Acuras, I opted for a fun car. At least I thought I did. This car (purchased NEW) spends so much time in the shop, I wouldn't know if it was fun to drive or not. The service department people are rude and go to great lengths to ignore you while they socialize. They will never give you a straight answer about when your car will be ready (hours? days? Really---they have no idea) The dealership is uncomfortable and awkward---which is unfortunate because you can plan on spending a lot of time there.I will take a boring car, that gets mw where I want to go any day of the week.

My husband and I had owned nothing but Hondas/Acuras for the past 25 years. After our youngest moved out, I wanted a fun "not-mom" car and opted for the Mini Cooper. It is probably fun to drive but spends so much time in the shop, I really wouldn't know.The folks at the service department are rude and you can expect to stand there watching them leaning on the counter while they socialize and change the paper in the printer for about 10 minutes before they even acknowledge you. Then the fun really begins and they can't give you a straight answer about when you can expect your car will be ready. (hours? days? Don't bother asking, they have no idea.)The dealership is set up very awkward and is not at all comfortable---even for little things like when they tell you you need an oil change because your car sat on the lot for so long before it was purchased.I really wanted to love this car, but this girl has things to do and sitting in a dealership being treated rudely, isn't one of them. I will take a boring RELIABLE car that gets me where I want to go any day of the week.Have fun at the dealership---I'll have fun going places.

If you own a car (found out they work on more than just Mini) Daniel Rodriquez and Frank Rivera are the men to know. From the first call to set up an appointment to the service on my car being completed, these guys are GREAT. I was treated like a valued customer, kept informed on the progress of my service, given a nice loaner car, and educated on options my car has that I wasn't using. My car was returned to me clean as a whistle.Even the cashier (Clarice?) made my visit pleasant by her kind encouragement to "MAKE it a nice day!" The valet (Kwasi?) greeted me with a smile and took time to converse with me for a few minutes. My experience here has been great and I have no reason to believe that future visits will be any less than the same.

My husband and I live in Rhode Island. About a year ago I was ready to buy a car but was going through chemo and we decided to wait until I was able to return to work. I was very specific on what I wanted for a car. Come time to finally get my car I was told the color I wanted was no longer available. Bummer.My son went online and located my Chevy Sonic in Dragon green in Alexandria,Va.I called to see if the car was still available and to my delight it was. Matt was the salesperson I talked with and he answered all my questions and checked with the sales manager to make sure all was good with the car. Upon that assurance we booked a flight to Dc and flew down on Saturday. The car was as stated and Matt was great. We then drove 7 1/2 hours to get home.Would I do this again? Absolutly!

I was getting ready to go on a road trip and my mini was showing a low tire. I filled it up but it still signaled it was low. I dropped my car off before they opened in the morning and wrote my concern down on the key drop envelope. My car was finished before lunch and I got a phone call explaining what had happened. They just had to reset the indicator. Easy process and I left for my trip with peace of mind!

I walked in to test drive knowing my budget and having already found a vehicle at a different location, but my salesman, Andy was SO patient, knowledgeable, funny and kind that I ended up spending a couple hours, having lunch (they provided sandwiches and drinks on a super Saturday) and test driving all the different Mini's that I'd made up my mind I was purchasing from them. I came back the following Monday (I wasn't prepared to purchase on Saturday---I only went to test drive) and went through the buying process. From Andy to his manager, the facilities, and my repairs since then (two flat tires!) the entire team there is unimaginably awesome. It's rare you get an all around great experience so I assumed it would begin and end with Andy but literally every single person I've contacted or come across either getting a free wash to picking up my registration has been professional, friendly and knowledgable. I should also mention that they're quick! I had a flat tire (on run flats) and dropped off for service a Saturday morning before opening (7AM), by 8:30AM they called to tell me they'd received it, by 10AM they called to tell me I was also due for service and they were going to fix some computer glitch I was experiencing, by 12:30PM my car was cleaned and complete, ready for me to pick up. That may be a long day to some but I was honestly expecting to have to wait until Monday evening to get my car back, I figured they'd be booked completely with service appointments, no loaner vehicles available and wouldn't have my tire in stock, I was amazed to get it back within a few hours. I asked one of the mechanics if he could tell me how to see where I needed service and he took an extra 5-10 mins to walk me through my dashboard computer. Note though that when I purchased, my salesman took the time to go through those things as well but I think the excitement of the new vehicle took over and I only retained the first part of my lesson. Overall, 5+ stars for this location and team, I couldn't have had a better experience, seriously.

I decided to special order a 2016 Cooper S Clubman when it was evident that one of the options I really wanted was not likely to be found on any car ordered by a dealership. The ordering process went smoothly, the wait for the car to be built, shipped, inspected, and delivered was acceptable. I am very satisfied with the Clubman, with all the bells and whistles I had included in the special order. Sadly the seats are neither powered nor leather -- MINI has simply priced themselves out of line on both of those options.

I have a certified Mini and normally gets it serviced at a different dealer in Baltimore. I took my car to Mini of Alexandria since I relocated to DC. The experience at Min of Alexandria was exceptional. They had a loaner car at a moments notice and kept me up to date on there findings and fixed the car. The identified other issues that I mentioned to my former dealer and was not addressed. They fixed that as all. Overall, the service as well as the service advisers were great. I am glad I made this trip.

He stated a figure and when I informed him that I will not be interested if that is the price he slammed the phone down. I was disappointed not only as a human being that expect to be treated with professionalism and common courtesy but also as a client of the company. He should know better and should be held accountable for this behavior. I am writing this to inform management of this as well as to inform potential clients to expect such reaction even when you are using credible and legitimate proxies such as consumer report as a bench mark for market value. That is not too much to expect from a legitimate company.

I LOVE my Mini Countryman and I can't believe I've already had it for a year! Passport Mini of Alexandria was such a pleasure to work with on both the sales and service for this adorable car! My car is in great shape, but since I've had it a year, I took it in for a service appointment. I was able to get the service appointment time that worked for me and when I was running late on the day of the appointment, they were super flexible and it wasn't an issue at all. They just moved my appointment to a later time for me - so nice! I was given a loaner so I could run errands while my Mini was being serviced - nice! The service rep told me that the appointment would take about 1.5 hours and that's exactly how long it took. I picked up my Mini from the service appointment and drove off a happy customer. :)

The service manager, Dan Rodrigues, is professional, warm and accommodating - he finds out what the customer needs and wants and provides it. The facilities are comfortable and provides drinks and food to pass the time when waiting. Scheduling is easy and fast. Every that is done to the car is explained in detail. I did not purchase my MINI from Passport, but I've been taking it to them for service since I bought it. They are always patient, courteous, never rush me when I have questions, and everyone is super friendly. They offer loaner or rental cars free of charge, although I don't know whether that changes when my car is no longer under warranty. They always do exactly what they say they will do and get it done on time. There is no pressure to have unnecessary work done, but they are thorough in explaining what does need to happen and why. The lobby is fun and comfortable with coffee. water, and snacks available while you wait. Passport makes the not-so-fun experience of having your car serviced a much more pleasant one. Love this place!

I have been dealing with Passport Mini of Alexandria for going on 6 years now and have had nothing less than excellent service with them. I have bought two new Mini Coopers through them, a Mini Cooper Hardtop S and most recently a Mini Cooper Countryman S. My Salesman, "Vinnie at Mini" keeps me posted and up-to-date on all the new features and the service department has always been timely and knowledgeable. One of the best things I really enjoy is driving a new loaner car when I go for service. They always leave me wanting my next Mini. Recently I drove the new 2016 4 door Hardtop Mini Cooper S. It had all the bells and whistles, including lights in the exterior handles, passenger-side reverse-mirror turn-down, and Mini Connect. I can hardly wait for my next Mini. Hmmm.....Convertible or Clubman....oh the choices.!

He brought around one car after the other, as I wanted to check out some other models, and then, of course there is the issue of color. At the end, I stayed with the Cooper S hardtop, in black this time with red stripes down the middle. They are fair and friendly, which I highly value. The service team has been as wonderful over the years.They know people are busy and get you in and out as fast as possible, or give you a loaner if necessary. But even if there is a wait, the excellent, always fresh coffee and the cool interior design make the wait easy. I love their cars but the way they sell and service them, I really appreciate.

Dealership repair group here always does an excellent job of repairing my mini S but forget waiting for any minor repair. I recently scheduled an early morning repair of a leaky air stem valve on one tire and had to wait over 2 hours before it was serviced and I was on my way. Shop was slow b/c of recent snowstorm so it wasn't' workload. Better service management needed here. However the quality of each repair has been excellent when you finally get your car back.

I recently had my Mini Cooper in for a problem with severe hesitation - my car was covered by warranty. My service advisor Frank helped me figure out the logistics of getting my car to the dealership which involved getting it towed from my work AND setting up a free car rental with Enterprise near my work. All I had to do was hand the keys to the tow truck driver, and the Enterprise guy texted me when he got to my work. I was back at work with a rental car in less than 25 minutes. Back at the dealership they ran the diagnostics, fixed the problem (computer issue) and I was able to drop off the rental car at the dealership a day and a half later. It was GREAT to be treated to such a high level of service. Everyone at this dealership is friendly and ready to help with anything you might need. I couldn't recommend this dealership any higher.

I purchased from this dealer twice: about 6 years ago when I purchased a used Jeep on the lot (I didn't at that time have the capital for a mini but was quite pleased with the alternative) and now when I bought the 2015 Paceman. The service, both times, was impeccable. Buying from anyone who works on commission is nerve wrecking because they are trained to sell no matter what. But the feeling here in buying is that the seller cares about what is best for you and that made the buying process easier. I arrived several days before the new purchase date just to look around and I received first class service from both Peter Lawford and John Dugan as I test drove several models. I returned several days later to complete the purchase of a 2015 Paceman. Peter and John were quite helpful again, and Stacey was wonderful at explaining my options for add-ons, if needed, during the financing paper work. These are true professionals who seem to enjoy making the customer happy.

I've had such a great experience with this dealership. I showed up on a busy day and the sales manager took me for a test drive. This was my first experience with Mini and having a British Sales Manager really made me feel like "Wow, this really is a British auto maker." Their first offer for my trade-in was actually higher than my payoff and that's never happened before. I did have a long wait to get in to see the finance manager, but the other finance manager got fired or quit, so he was backed up. But he did a great job and talked me into getting the tire warranty, and boy am I glad he did because 2 months later I got a screw in my tire. I showed up at service unannounced and they gave me a new tire, replaced my worn windshield wiper and washed and vacuumed my car. All without me even asking for it. The whole trip took less than 2 hours. Everyone at this dealership has gone above and beyond what I always got at the VW dealerships. I love my Mini Roadster!

Passport Mini of Alexandria had a used vehicle that I was interested in. Living two hours south of Alexandria, I had to plan to take a day off work to drive to the dealership and purchase the vehicle. After working with salesman Ray Adams for two days, filling out paperwork for financing, and making arrangements to take a day off work, the dealership sold the vehicle hours before I got there. They call Ray "The Cat With the Black Hat." Well, the dealership pulled some Black Hat tactics on this one and instead of being concerned with satisfying a customer and creating trust, they focused on making the cheapest, fastest and easiest sale. I even offered to make a down payment on the vehicle to hold it. I would NOT recommend this dealership to anyone.

I was proud to purchase my wife a Countryman from Mini of Alexandria. The sales agent Mike Hannon was very knowledgeable and customer oriented. He was very attentive and ensure that I was satisfied with my purchase. He made contact with me many times prior to the purchase via phone and e-mail. A few days prior to my purchase of the Mini Cooper Countryman he told me that he would let me know as soon as he get a vehicle in that I was looking for. Early in February he notified me that he had the car that I was asking for. He quoted me a price that was in my range. He made the sale painless. My wife was very pleased. The only problem was that the vehicle had a faulty tire sensor system. I later came back to the dealer with the vehicle and left it with the service representative for a total repair/replacement of the tire sensor system. Although I waited for a number of hours, I was given a loaner vehicle and told by the service representative that he would bring my vehicle to my address and retrieve the loaner car. My sales representative (Mike) was very instrumental in assisting with getting my needs met. I will keep contact with Mike as long as I have the vehicle. I want to say to Mike, good job and great customer service. Mini should be proud to have you as a member of the dealership.

My wife and I recently purchased two Mini Cooper Countrymen at your dealership. Vinnie Maletesta was our salesman and I must say I have never had an experience at a car dealership like the one I experienced at Passport. From the moment we arrived (not looking to make a purchase) the atmosphere was relaxed and casual. Because of bad experiences at numerous other dealerships over the years when we shop we usually park in the back corner so we can browse without being hassled by overly pushy salesmen who think they know what it is were looking to buy. When we got out and started to look around Vinnie made his way to us and asked if we were looking for something in particular and we said no just looking at the different styles. He told us he would be inside and if we needed assistance to ask for him. After about an hour of looking he made his way back to us and asked if we found anything and would we like to take a test drive. We drove the car and narrowed down our search between two cars and went inside to discuss costs. I was trading an Audi and he had someone take it to be appraised. While we were there he asked if we were hungry and brought us sandwiches and drinks. Making a long story short we were there for the remainder of the afternoon and eventually decided to buy due to the low interest rate being offered by BMW. The unbelievable experience continued when we sat down with the Financial Manager (Don) which is usually were the bad experience gets worse. Typically this is where they try to sell you yet even more things youre not interested in but Don made a great day even better by explaining all our options and allowing us to make a decision on our own. When we declined to purchase one of the protection plans he didnt try to force the issue just moved on to the remaining paperwork with a very positive attitude and very personable nature. I wanted white bonnet stripes, satellite radio and checkered mirror caps installed which we scheduled for the following Friday. Vinnie arranged a loaner car and met us at the dealership that day, took us in and introduced us to our service representative who explained what would happen and that they would call when the vehicle was ready.My wife decided that she was interested in a Mini as well and we scheduled to meet Vinnie the following week. She had seen one she liked while we were there for mine but it had been sold. She told Vinnie what she wanted in the way of options and he located one at another dealership. We came in and he had it in the garage being inspected and cleaned up. Again we were trading a car which they took to appraise so we sat down to work up the numbers. There was too much negative equity in our Honda and we could not get financing. This is where most dealers begin to start pressuring you but not Vinnie, He and Don worked to get us our car. Don sat down with us and explained our options and call it luck or very experienced personnel but Vinnie showed us a 2014 with all the options my wife wanted. Don got our financing approved and We are now the proud owners of two Mini Countrymen.This is the kind of dedication and attention to detail that has all but become extinct in our day to day grind so Accolades to Vinnie, Don and all the team at Passport Mini.Sincerely, Michael D. Jeff Wannall was my salesperson. I met him on a Thursday on my own to test drive two different Mini's. He got me into the cars fast - no weird prescreening questions or other positioning questions. Very respectful of my process. After the test drive, he found me the car I wanted, but it was at another dealership. Told him I'd be back with my husband on Saturday morning to see if we could make something work with him. No hard sell either way. Visited the other dealership on Friday(had a terrible experience there). Came back to Passport Mini in Alexandria on Saturday morning as scheduled. Same fast action to get me and my husband into the slightly used car that best fit my requirements. (only 5000 miles). We negotiated a very fair price for the car and our trade in and drove our almost new Mini Clubman off the lot by 2pm. This dealership treated us extremely well. No strong arming, no hard sells, no making us cool our heels while someone talks to someone else higher up. My salesman was Peter L. and he was polite, professional, straight forward and accountable. I was pleased with the deal that we agreed to and the delivery arrangements made. Brought it in to replace power steering pump and fan. DAVE says it's under warranty and it'll be ready next day. Next day FRANK calls and says it'll be $1500 and won't be ready for two more days. Drove 2 hours from Pa to pick up a 2012 Countryman All4 only to find the vehicle was not cleaned, service or prepped for delivery. Not only that, the manager pulled me aside to tell me one of the other managers drove the car for a while and added another 4ooo miles to the advertised mileage. They tried to make it right by adding warranty, lower price, etc. The whole deal was a waste of time. Upon further searches on the Passport web-site for alternate vehicles, no help was offered in an effort to correct this deal gone bad. I am done with Passport, and Mini vehicles. Also, the 3 1/2 hour ride home made it all the worse.

This happened twice and I stopped dealing with the the rep over email. Also, they were misguiding me on the availability and wanted to add transportation cost for the vehicle.I am glad I took my business elsewhere as they feel there are no competitors for them in the area, their lousy sales department would just function fine with over charging the customer.

After test drives are completed, purchasing a car takes about a day. In my case it took almost a week. The car I purchased could have been sold to someone else considering the amount of time I took to get everything squared away. Blessingly no one esle shopped for the same car; at least I do not think so. Anyway most people that know me know that I am picky, I research and challenge everything. No matter the number of questions I threw at Vinnie, he maintained a calm composure answering all my questions. He offered to help me with every aspect of the car buying process. He kept in touch with me to ensure that I did not need assistance from him or his team. He went to work on his day off to provide support to me. Vinnie was not a pushy car salesman. He new his product and products offered through the dealership by the finance department. Annie Cummings is very helpful in processing and handling paperwork. She is very knowledgeable about warranties and cars on their lot. I know it is her job to know, but you'll be amazed at the number of people that only wants to sell products and care less about the customer. She is a great multi-tasker; not pushy when sharing product information. Best of she is believable because she drives the same make of vehicle I purchased. And, she was able to provide tons of information that I needed to consider with this vehicle. If I say more, then you may think they were paying me. I would definitely recommend Vinnie and Annie to help you with your next purchase.

My car buying experience at Passport MINI of Alexandria was the best by far. I was greeted well at the door by Salesman Adam. He showed all cars that I wanted to see and took me for test drive on 2 different models that I wanted drive. After I came back from test drive he offered refreshments and shared all information that i asked for. I did not feel pressured at all and I was able to make a decision to buy a car the same day.I also took the finance option from this dealership and the lady at finance department was just awesome. She was very quick processing the loan and I was out within couple of hours with the car after I made the decision to buy.After I reached home I had to call dealership for some follow up items and I received exceptional response from them.I am very happy with my decision to buy the car from this dealership.

I worked with Brian Dileo to order my Mini Cooper S Hardtop. Since I do not live in NOVA, I did 90% of my correspondence over email and phone. He was great to work with answering ALL my questions in a timely manner and getting my Mini order in promptly. Picking up the Mini was a great experience. I would like to begin with I love my NEW Mini Countryman and am so glad I purchased from Passport of Alexandria. I went to Passport specifically because of the reviews I read online about the dealership; service department and Sales Staff. I cannot say enough wonderful things about the dealership, Sales and finance staff. Everyone was great from the beginning to the end purchase. When my fiance and I stopped in we told Charles my sales associate that I was looking and just wanted to take a test drive, Instead of getting the put out salesman routine (dont bother me unless you are buying) that I've received from other dealerships over the years, Charles was great he walked me through the large selection of Minis until I found the one I liked, he grabbed a set of keys for me and got into the back seat. And while on the no pressure just have fun test drive he was explaining all the great features the Mini has to offer the driver. I knew when we pulled back into the lot I was going home to get my car to trade in; we told Charles we would be right back. When we arrived back to the dealership Charles and the staff were wonderful made us feel like great friends. Even though everyone was crazy busy (this being Saturday afternoon) everyone said hello and nobody forgot about us. I have to say the main thing that I don't like about buying a new car is going through the finance part. BUT let me say that Annie is the BEST finance person that I have ever made a large purchase with. She was very patient and did the best that she could to make sure that I got a great loan and was taken care of. She explained everything in detail to make sure I understood and not one time did I feel pressured that I had to agree to something that I didnt' want or anything I did not need. I dont usually feel comfortable or at home among friends during this process but that is exactly how Annie makes you feel. Just purchased a 2012 Countryman from Brian at Passport Mini and it was a great experience! This was my first new car purchase and first time dealing with a dealer. I scheduled an appointment at 7pm on a Friday and Brian was waiting for me when I got there. Once we had agreed to terms, we were handed over to Andy. It was around 810pm and Andy had the paperwork processed and out the door in about 7 minutes. He even found me a better interest rate than was originally discussed! Very, very pleased with my new Mini and would recommend Passport Mini to anyone looking to buy one.

I arrived at Passport Mini of Alexandria from Hampton VA late in the evening on Monday, to late to complete the necessary paperwork. I had located a limited Mini Hampton Edition online and wanted it for my wife for Mother's day. I was unsure if I could re-arrange my work week to accomodate to return trip to Alexandria. Kyle Goodwin offered and shipped my new Mini to my home as not to have my wife and I make the trip back to the dealership. His offer was after we agreed on the deal. Found mini online exactly as one I had on my "bucket"list--worked w/Richard over the phone--he was fantastic--he had all the paperwork ready for me to sign--I got a flight from Atlanta the next day-flew into Ronald Reagan Airport-Richard picked me up at the airport and gave me a brief tour of D.C.area--onto dealership--eveything went very smooth--Richard explained the Mini down the the very last detail(this was my first)I got the car of my dreams and the dealer to boot--what a win/win situation for me.I drove the car back to my hometown near Atlanta-I got 36.9MPG--awesome--Almost forgot to mention Annie in finance-what an awesome woman--had my paperwork all ready-a few signatures and I was gone---thanks again Richard/Annie-for a super experience at your dealership.

I started out looking at a Volkswagen gti that they had already had on their lot. I ended up calling too late and they sold the car. Brian went out of his way and found another volkwagen gti for me in the same condition as the one they previously had. There was a lot of struggles in me being able to get the finances and everything for the car and he was patient and helped me find a way to do it. The car looked great it seemed brand new. I have had the car for a few months now and I absolutely love it. The customer service overall was fantastic. Not most dealerships you can trust but they really do care about finding you a good car that you are going to like and enjoy. I had a great experience overall and I would definitely go back to them if I'm looking to ever get a car in the future. I recommend them to anyone who is looking to purchase a new or used car.

We just had the best experience with Brian at Passport Mini! We live in Richmond, VA and began communication roughly 24 hours ago and ended up driving 2 hours to Alexandria this morning and buying our first Mini! We have been eyeing the Clubman now for a few months, and we finally found the right one, and definitely found it at the right location, and most of all, found it through the right guy. Communication was spot on, the availabilty of everyone in the dealership was phenomenal, and nothing was hidden or suprising. Andy, the man behind the printer and long documents (read financing), despite the fact he was suffering from severe sinuses, hung out for the extra time to take care of us before having to take off. That extra effort, the willingness, the friendliness, the overall feeling of comfort, makes this a dealership that we will continue to stay in contact with and do business with. Purchased a 2009 Mini Cooper S. In less than a year - rear tire goes flat - discovered a bubble. Rims were damaged when I purchased vehicle - they buffed out - but should have known would lead to future problems. Found out the hood of the car had been repainted (non manufacturer) if Mini of Alexandria is as good as they say they are with inspections - they would have seen this - which I fully believe they did and choose not to say a word to me - since it had a clean car fax report...legally they probably did not feel they had to be honest and disclose.Extremely disappointed...do not trust them. I traded in my perfect 2008 Acura TL with no scratch or mechanical issues.I will take this to the regional level and hold them accountable.

I had visited another dealership and spoken with several on the phone before meeting my salesman over the phone at MINI of Alexandria. I spent 5 months working with Vinnie to find my perfect Mini. From start to finish, he was accomodating, quick to respond to e-mails/voicemails, and very informative during my multiple test drives. What I valued most about him is that not once did I feel like he was just trying to make a sale. He was honest and open about all of my options and pricing, and no matter how many times I veered towards other sources in "shopping around", he never pushed. He just waited, knowing how competitive he was being price-wise, for me to return. Vinnie was always right, I always returned. To me that trust he built means that I will be coming back to him as long as I live in the area (the forever complementary car washes don't hurt either :-P ). As far as the dealership itself goes, the service I have been receiving is phenomenal. Even the knowledgeable receptionist (Enrique) stepped up in times of need when I had questions. And when I had the complementary car wash done, not only did my Mini (which I named Schlomo) come out spotless and shiny, but the inside was vacuumed and made to look brand new, in a matter of 20 minutes. Even my experience in the notoriously grueling financing meeting was made comfortable because we talked options over lunch (and amazing catered breakfast and lunch brought in from a local sandwich shop for the customers). And if you do need to wait for anything, they offer an array of non-car-related books and magazines - I personally enjoyed the Guinness World Book of Records. Passport Mini of Alexandria is not just a trip to a car dealership, it's a customer experience, and they know how to do it right.

So disappointed. I had anxiety about purchasing a car from any dealership and Passport MINI confirmed my fears of being sold a lemon. I thought they looked like a professional dealership but I have had so many problems since dealing with them that I would NOT recommend purchasing a used car from them. I cannot speak on new Minis because I did not purchase a Mini from them1. I live more then 2 hours from the dealership and made the trip up- being told if you purchase and everything is not ready we will meet you or deliver the car to you Well the rotor on the 2004 Audi A4 was bad. First the sales manager tried to snow us over by saying its an older car- when my husband offered to take it to Audi directly- they suddenly had a mechanic that previously worked for Audi2. Once the car was ready they were not able to meet us and had no mention of any effort to deliver the car so again we made the drive to Northern VA3. I purchased this car almost 2 months ago and still have no received my tags- The dealership pretty much says that is my problem and if I want to drive up to them - 3rd trip- they will help me4. I would consider driving it but... THE CAR ALREADY HAS $2000 worth of problems. For a mechanic that used to work for Audi they did not truthfully present the car. Under the hood was dirty and hoses were broken. The oil pump and oxygen sensors were all messed up and as we speak it is in the Audi dealership being serviced. I called the used car sales manager because my sales person has been out of town every time I call when they send me straight to voice mail- my calls have yet to be returned. The best part was I am trying just to get information about what their Audi mechanic observed since we asked him to look over the entire vehicle because of a noise we heard on the test drive. Now- the only thing that would keep me from continuing to warn others would be an apology and a check- 5. STAY AWAY IF YOU ARE BUYING A USED CAR- they are dishonest and unreliable -

I just purchased a used car from Passport Mini. I was not really seriously looking yet. I found the car online and sent an inquiry. I got an email shortly after and a phone call. Kyle was great to work with. He was honest and genuine. He made the whole process easy. I went on a busy day when they were having a Mini test drive event. So far the experience has been great. Update: Although I don't want to change my review of the good experience I had in purchasing my car, my opinion has changed quite a bit since signing for my car. I had to try for 2 months to get a copy of the paperwork which was left out of my stack of papers. I called, emailed, and eventually visited the dealership (which only led to more phone calls). As part of the sale the paint chips and scratches were to be removed as well as a window tint. The window tint was taken care of within about 2 weeks. I was only a little upset with them at this point because no one called me when the car was finished. I had been trying to call but could not get an answer. When I did, I was transferred several times and told I had to pick up the car within the next 10 minutes. As it turned out my key had been passed around and landed on the managers desk because no one knew what to do with it. It's now been 5 months and I have been unable to get the other work done. It was scheduled once and after leaving work to drop off the car and walking back to work I was told it could not be completed that day (also, when I went to pick the car back up I had to wait about 15 minutes because they could not find my keys). I had been in a hurry to get it done due to a job relocation which would make it more difficult to get my car into the dealer. I was told to come back on the weekend to get a loaner so they could complete the work on Monday. When I returned on the weekend I was told the manager would not release a loaner to me. When I expressed how upset I was with how my experience had been I was basically told that it nothing could be done because there is a "process". I called to reschedule and have not heard back yet.

First of all let me say that I am skeptical of all these reviews on here where people rate this dealership as perfect five out of five on EVERY category. It looks too perfect to me.I do not understand how this dealership gets such good ratings. The sales associate I was dealing with did not return my communication asking questions. I think I pissed him off because I was asking many questions. But hey that is what he is there for to answer my questions.The prices at this dealership are horrible, absolutely horrible. They are hard to deal with on the prices. I live near the dealership and I saw the same exact car there for a very long time and I even recorded the stock number and the car sat there forever. One of the sales guys kept telling me that every car they get is sold off the lot almost immediately. They give you a ton of bs about why you need to pay sticker and such too.Try another Mini Dealer in the area. There are about 4 within a one hour zone of Alexandria and I just got mine for 2075 off sticker when Passport Alexandria would only give me 500.My advice- go to SEVERAL dealers before you buy your car, ask lots of questions, and check prices.....

I purchased my 2nd MINI from Passport MINI this evening. As with my first purchase, my experience was exceptional. Each person who works for Passport MINI is first rate, not the least of whom is my dealer, Vinnie Maletesta. Vinnie is low pressure, highly knowledgeable, patient, and extremely personable. I never feel like anyone at Passport MINI tries to take advantage of their customers. If anything, they are exceedingly fair and honest. My experience with Passport MINI service also has been first rate.The purchase I made tonight is my third MINI. I purchased my first MINI from another Northern Virginia dealer. With that dealership, I felt like they treated MINI owners as second-rate customers (they were a joint MINI/BMW dealership). They were unhelpful, it would take weeks to get a service appointment, and I'd walk into the dealership and nobody would even say hello, let alone offer to help. My experience with Passport has been the exact opposite; always friendly, always helpful, always welcoming.If you are in the market for a new or used MINI, I urge you to visit Passport MINI, and ask for Vinnie.

The first contact with the dealership was really quick. I had sent an inquiry from the mini site and they replied within the hour. But the sales person who contacted me was taking off for the day. I really wanted to test drive that day so I show up and a Vinnie comes up and asks me what I am looking for. I mentioned I have been wanting a Mini for years and now they have an almost practical car, Countryman, I would like to test drive it. He immediately got the keys out and we went out on a drive. After the first few awkward minutes, we started speaking and he was very friendly. After the countryman test drive, he asked me if for kicks would I like to drive Cooper S hard top. I knew right then no matter what car i buy I am going to get it at this dealership. I told him i would email him a custom built for the car and he would inquire about the "Costco" discount on the car, even though it is has been just released and they might not have an arrangement with costco yet. On Monday, I check my email and he had already had a follow up email with the formalities but it was a nice touch. I sent him a configuration and in like 10 minutes he had a quote and added the "Costco" discount (500 off). He very patiently answered all my follow up emails and when i said i would like some time and will get back to him, he did not pressure me and told me to get back when i was ready. During that time, more than a week , he did not email me back. I went to another dealer in Annapolis but they would not budge from the sticker price and were not as friendly. Any way a week later on Saturday I made an appointment and met Vinnie again. I had mentioned my budget and he suggested me stuff that I could take off and get equivalent ones and not bust my budget. Then he sat down and looked for a car that matched what i had spec-ed out and we found that we had to order one that would take 8 weeks. He then suggested if i get a different color I might be able to get one sooner. So more searching and after 30 minutes i had found my Mini countryman. Really good friendly service. I would strongly recommend it.

Definitely avoid! I saw a used BMW 335xi Coupe there for sale. Drove from Ashburn to Alexandria to see it. The salesman there who handled the appointment and sales was a genuine used car salesman. He knew I was interested in the vehicle after I put myself on the waiting list if the customer who put down an initial deposit couldn't buy the car. Well he wasn't able to and now the sales guy Ahmed Shaker was going to try and take me for all I'm worth. When I stopped by Sunday 12/19/2010 he showed me the vehicle and was telling me during the negotiations that the vehicle had been detailed and ready to go... nope not true. Marks and areas that were definitely not cleaned up on the inside. The vehicle didn't even have proper service records in the Carfax report. He tried telling me Passport BMW did all the work but for some reason nothing was ever reported to Carfax... anything else not reported?? After I opened with an offer he said he wouldn't even go to his manager with it. I explained to him that his listing price is too high to close to what a CPO vehicle was worth after a real BMW dealer certified it and gave you there discount especially when it didn't even qualify for BMW's year end special of 0.9% financing, $1,500, or free 2 year extended maintenance. He got really pushy and didn't even want to negotiate saying no way he could lower the price. He barged out of the door, ran over to the car parked by the curb and drove it off and parked it in the lot. Wow, they really try to push your buttons here at Passport Mini! Afterward he said if I didn't want it then the sales guy next door sitting there was has been eyeing it and was waiting (uh huh sure...). So why didn't you sell it to him a long time ago?? Then later he actually tries telling me they paid near if not the full trade in value for the fully loaded car! HAHAHA and told me it cost them almost $1,000 to get this down from Jersey from auction... What a bunch of bullsh1t! He thinks I'm stupid or he can talk a bunch of crap to force me to buy it at full value. So now this car wasn't a trade in, it was bought at an auction??? And he expected me to believe he paid near full listing price for this trade in, giving full value to each option? Wow, what a kind and nice dealer!! The trade in value was about $24,000 for the mileage and base price, he was trying to say they gave the guy close to the $28,000 that is listed online for a fully loaded car, hilarious! Even if he met him in the middle with a trade in value of $26,000 he'd still be making $3-4 thousand from me. They mark down the value of options with the trade in guy and expect to get full value for the options when they sell it! Finally he said he could lower the asking price a thousand, maybe $1,500... so what was that whole act and show with driving the car off in a huff and going next door to talk nasty about me with your manager? What they didn't think I could see through the glass walls and see some of the sales guys looking over and snickering and laughing while Ahmed had his back turned to me? So now it went from we can't drop the price of the car to, okay we can go down $1,000-$1,500. He even tried selling me on the fact that the relatively new rear tires were replaced by Passport Mini, when an hour before he was saying he didn't know about the tire conditions and he thinks the rear tires were new! So you replaced them but know nothing about them? Incredible! Nice looking dealership... but all the makeup can't hide the used car salesman tactics. He said, "you can take this or you can leave." What a nice guy you are Ahmed. Obviously we couldn't agree on a compromise. Who heard of a dealer who only comes down $1,000 on his inflated listing price? Especially when the price of the car at $31,000 is pretty much the same as a similar CPO BMW after considering the extended warranty, detailing of the vehicle, and the approximate 7% most BMW dealers give you off their list price, not to consider the current BMW year end promotions worth $1,500-$2,500. I was going to put down a large deposit and even get my financing with them but all they could do was give me an attitude and try to strong arm me. I could have gone up more but the nasty feeling and the taste in my mouth that kept building really disgusted me. I don't know if they treat all Asian like this or maybe just young professionals in general but I don't roll over easy and just take it. I suggest you avoid Passport Mini of Alexandria especially for their used vehicle. You've been warned, they try to play with your desires for their cars and once they have you in their attitude goes sour until they squeeze every last dime out of you. Nasty salesmen and piss poor attitude. I know I'm going to let everyone at work and that I know to avoid this this brand and this dealership for sure. If you absolutely need a Mini or a used car at least save yourself hours of headache in there and go somewhere else.

I went to Passport Mini because it was the closest to where I lived, but was glad I went becuase I found a very helpful staff which made my purchase go very smoothly. I had a leased vehicle I wanted to buy out of, and they handled the paperwork for me, making my end of the deal hassle free. They also did a great job of finding the Mini I wanted, and handled the cost of shipping to keep the purchase under the budget I wanted to keep it under.Brian Dileo was a pleasure to work with, and made the experience enjoyable, almost as enjoyable as driving my new 2010 Mini Cooper S.

It was a blazing hot Saturday afternoon here in the Mid-Atlantic DC area. Temperatures were easily into the mid 90s. I woke up early and decided I would go out and test-drive a few cars. Like any person, I prepared myself mentality and emotionally to deal with the typical sales environment of a dealership. High pressure, poor manners, lack of product knowledge - you know what you typical can expect at a dealer. My day turned out as expected, frustrated, hot and tired of dealing with the fill out a credit application and well let you drive whatever you like. Keep in mind I wasnt out looking to drive a new 458 Italia or similar vehicle. One salesman said, Its way too much work to get this car off the sidewalk for a test drive. Sorry. The side walk was level with the ground, so I was confused but nonetheless scratched my head and left.After getting something cold to drink I was headed back to Alexandria when I noticed a car in the back of the new(er) Mini Cooper dealership near Landmark Mall. After navigating the dangerous intersection and making my way into the dealership parking lot unscathed I parked and made a bee line to the Cyber Gray (or Grey as the Brits would say) C6 Corvette. Gave it a once over and went inside to find a salesperson. I cant say that Im disappointed the sales staff didnt chase me the mile across the parking lot. I was on a mission and given my speed Im sure no one even noticed me zigzagging through the pool of Mini Coopers. Opening the door the first thing to hit me, besides the blast of refreshing cold air, was the upbeat clean, well groomed demeanor of the staff and the establishment. I made my way to the desk where a sales staff was paged to help me. Giles Bibic was the person charged with helping me out. He grabbed the keys to the Corvette and headed out to check it out with me. He made no attempt to pretend he knew the car (like most salesmen would do) , instead he just said, If you need information I can do my best to find you an answer. Very refreshing to not have an earful of BS spewed at you. After checking out the car fully we made our way back in where he was very accommodating in our transaction. One thing I will point out, like many dealerships Mini of Alexandria still plays the back and forth game with the SM/GM. I find this interesting in that this dealership is on the edge of breaking molds, yet still play the back and forth game. Selling cars is a profit game; I get it. So I play the game. We have agreed on a price, Im happy with the deal Giles even lets me take the car to pick up my wife so she can approve my purchase (comeon guys dont laugh youd do the same). We are closing up the deal and Giles tells me, You cant actually take the car home tonight. I felt like my guts had been ripped out. Given the location of the car on the lot and the lack of people cross-shopping a Mini and a Corvette the staff had failed to notice the car did not have the proper VA inspection. It was late on a Saturday and there was nothing they could do. A loaner was out of the question (the service dept keeps a close eye on loaners which shows great management). I finished up the F&I process, which normally is the worst part. You sit there having decided to spend a good amount of money only to have to fend off offers for yearly oil changes, tire insurance, free satellite radio, nitrogen tire fill ups and whatever else has a back end profit attached to it. I had none of this pressure. The F&I manager was super friendly, VERY detailed in the cost explanation and made the final signing what it should be an exciting last-stop before being handed the keys to your new car. I applaud the staff at Passport Mini for their hard work and diligence to make the car buying experience an enjoyable one. I would be happy to refer any and all of my friends or fellow car buddies to visit this place if for anything other than to check out the decor, have a complimentary snack or water and even take a drive in a Mini! You never know!!! Hats off to the Team at Passport Mini!

Great customer service! The staff went out of their way to get me the specific car that I wanted and when there was a misunderstanding with the license plate delivery, they went out of their way to resolve the issue quickly. Would definitely recommend this dealership to others!

I am an out of town client and I travelled to the DC area to have my Mini serviced on a Saturday. I dropped the car off at 8am and returned at 3pm after not having been contacted all day. My service advisor (William) explained that my thermostat had gone bad, and even though he had the necessary parts in stock his warranty repairs were "too high" and therefore I would have to wait until monday for his manager to sign off on that repair. Thats right, he wanted me to stay in DC for 2 extra days and get a hotel room because he needed a signature to do the warranty work that my car needed. He eventually conceded that his solution wasn't acceptable and he gave me a loaner car to bring home and told me he would arrange a way to get my car back to me, and I was happy. THEN I didn't hear from them until Wednesday, he called to confirm my address and said my car was on the way home tomorrow. Finally I had to call the dealership at 5pm on Thursday because my car wasn't home and I hadn't heard anything. I got the General Manager on the phone, explained the situation to him, and he was clearly frustrated, BUT with me, not his employees. He told me I had to drive back to DC if I wanted my car (4 hours each way, 8 total) and that I should have known better to have taken his loaner car. Then he said if I would pay $400 he would get a truck to bring me my car. They have only been a MINI dealer for 8 months, but they have a long way to go. Oh, I also learned that David Hellmuth, the General Manager that I dealt with, was the owner's brother, not sure if he has earned his position or not, but you certainly couldn't prove it by me.

We had a wonderful experience with Leslie Irby at Passport Mini in Alexandria, VA. I would recommend working with her to anyone looking for a Mini. Leslie was not a high-pressure salesperson but represented the product very well at the same time. She returned calls promptly and followed up with us when needed. She took the online builds of Minis that we put on the official Mini Web site and found a car that matched up well with the first choice of a build for us. The car had what we wanted and more as features. We just love it. The price of the car was lower than what we had on the online builds too! On the day I was to drive the car home, Leslie helped me pick out accessories to spiff up the British racing green and white top. I put a black/white checkered rear mirror cover on, the checkered stem caps and front and rear Mini plates that fit the same theme. Leslie even put the stem caps on the car herself. She also introduced me to Will who is the team lead for the maintenance team for the car. While I was dealing with paperwork and financing during the lunch hour, Leslie brought in bottled water and fruit to tide me over until lunch. When I was ready to drive the car off of the lot, she had printed out directions for me to get back home to Silver Spring from Northern Virginia. We also had a very nice chat while I was test-driving the car. In every way, Leslie gave us personable but not overbearing service and found just the right car for us. As a woman, you really appreciate being listened to on a car lot and not being treated as though you don't know what you're talking about when you're there to buy a car. Leslie did a great job.

My previous Mini experience with a different dealership was so terrible I was certain I would never have another Mini. Since opening less than a year ago, every experience I have had at Passport Mini has been positive. My service advisor Will Winston was the reason I even considered another Mini purchase. He was knowledgeable, efficient, and always kept me informed with what was going on with my car. Knowing that the service department could be that responsive, we were willing to look at buying another Mini. After meeting Andy Fortney, we were able to sit down and take the time to create the Mini of our dreams without feeling pressured. We were able to get all the support we needed along the way and Andy was even able to help me personalize my Mini before I ever saw it. Even the tedious paperwork at the signing was a fun experience thanks to Jeanan Oxley. Our experiences at Passport have restored my faith in Mini and I am certain that we will have many happy years to come!

I initially came to Passport Mini and Chris LaPorte (my outstanding sales rep) through an Internet inquiry. I had been working with another local BMW/Mini dealer for the past month. However, from the start Passport impressed me with their detailed knowledge of the in's and out's of the car, and especially their superior customer service. I had already test driven several models and knew I wanted the Clubman S, but also that my price range was unlikely to get me that car. Chris LaPorte wouldn't let that stand in the way of gettng me in the right car. He eventually found the perfect fit - a Clubman S with even more features than I thought I could afford, and for the right price. The buying process was quick and painless, and everyone I worked with was incredibly friendly and helpful. Many thanks to Chris LaPorte and Passport Mini!

I wanted to buy a used Honda Accord it was my first vehicle purchase. I got exceptional customer Service from the first phone call, Yves offered to come pick me up and then drive me home to drop off the old car, he was very thorough and honest. I worked in sales for many years and he was knowledgeable and excellent overall. I was dreading the purchase and they made it easy. Jeanan did my paperwork and she was also friendly, patient and clear. I saw the dealer reviews and didn't think they where accurate until I experienced it first hand. Very smooth process. Highly recommended!

Passport Mini far surpassed my experience with another local Mini Dealer from which I purchased my first Mini in 2004. I initially visited Passport late on a very rainy Wednesday night and the dealership was about to close. Lesley, who was on her way out with her coat on and purse in hand, graciously asked if I needed help. She put her purse down, and was very welcoming. She showed my the Hot Chocolate Mini Clubman S I had seen on Passport's website. She asked if I'd like her to bring it under cover to get a better look. I offered instead to return to the dealership on a less rainy evening. The following night, I stopped by. Lesley was not at work, but her colleague, Vinnie, kindly showed me the car and took me on a test drive. Vinnie knew I was working with Lesley, but generously spent a long time with me answering all my questions. I returned the next night and purchased the car. Throughout the entire process, I did not find Lesley or Vinnie to be high pressure. Instead, they allow the cars to sell themselves. They are very knowledgeable about the vehicles they sell, and ensure their customers are fully informed.It's no wonder Passport Mini is the number 1 Mini dealership in the United States. Not only do they have an exceptional and highly professional sales staff, they also are one of only 3 dedicated Mini dealerships in the United States. That means that Mini is not an after thought for a dealership whose primary focus is BMW, like the other DC area dealerships. I do not hesitate offering my highest recommendation to Passport, Lesley, and Vinnie.

Working with Lesley Irby was great. She did it all to help find the right Mini for us. She spent a lot of time on the computer checking inventories, what was being shipped and what was in port as well. We drove many Mini's and never did she tire of my questions or want of another drive. Drove just about every model on the lot and she encouraged driving them all to be sure. She and the company in general are low pressure, understanding, and eager to help. Lesley is organized, knows the vehicles and business. I look forward to easy access service as they've many bays and only service Mini's. I had an older Mini and it could often take a week to get a service appt...not at Passport Mini of Alexandria...for regular service...same day and drive in service should be available. Highly recommend Lesley Irby and Passport Mini. Service managers were available to answer my many service related questions prior to purchase as well.In fact, I've already recommended the dealership to admirers of our purchase.jaf - Maryland

I had not considered shopping a MINI in VA until his call. His service was friendly, low key and professional. He took time to review all the controls and introduced me to the service manager before I left. I would highly recommend this dealership!

I started out looking on line at the inventory and submitted an information request email. The next morning I received a call from Peter Lawford. A few phone calls and emails later, I decided to set up an appointment for a Saturday morning. What an amazing buying experience! I was terrified of buying a new car. I just hate the haggling and pressure to add this or that on to the car. Buying a new car couldn't have been easier. I was comfortable with the price and felt it was very fair for the car that I was buying. Peter helped me decipher the difference between the S model or the standard model. Not once did he pressure me to buy the more expensive car. I actually went in wanting the S model. He let me drive the S and the standard. I ended up with the standard model and just love it! I had been researching Hondas, Toyotas, Volvos and VWs. Twelve hours later, and I am very happy with the decision I made. It's a great little car without the little car feeling. As a friend said, it feels substantial, not like it is going to fall apart!

I was so excited to buy my first brand new car and Passport Mini made it the best experience. "Vinnie from Mini" was great from the start. As indecisive as I am, Vinnie was friendly and patient, never pushy or aggressive. He even followed up with me to make sure I enjoyed my first day as a "Mini Girl". Mini gave me a fair price on my trade and Jeanan was so helpful with the Financing part. She explained all my options in detail and I am so happy with the terms.I couldn't have asked for more from a dealer. Thanks Passport!

The overall experience when purchasing our new Mini was great. You were treated as a VIP from the very beginning to the delivery of the vehicle. I went to Passport Mini because I was very unhappy with my overall experience with my previous Mini dealer. Most of my dealings with Passport Mini were with Adam Hart. He was amazing. Best car buying experience I have ever had. A few tiny things were wrong with the car, but none of those were Adam's fault. Hard to believe they've only been open a few months. Their systems were all in place and they got me in and out in a minimal amount of time. They are definitely my new Mini dealer and I would absolutely recommend Passport Mini to anyone looking to buy a Mini.

Just drove away in my 2010 mini and am loving every moment of my time in it! The whole experience was painless. It changed my perspective on car buying as a whole. Everyone was extremely pleasant and there were no gimmicks, no last minute add-on fees, no pressure to buy extras. After many years of not buying a new car I finally took the plunge and plunged into the absolute best car buying experience of my life. I have been around - almost 60 years old - and had lots of cars - many new - and this was the most professionally run outfit that I have ever encountered. Vincent (Vinnie) Maletesta was my salesman and he did an absolutley great job. In addition to helping me find the best car - an Chili Red Cooper S with manual transmission - he gave me an insightful and impressive tour of their facility in Alexandria, Virginia. They have a pretty new and obviously well thought out facility that inspired a lot of confidence. I feel great about the deal, the service, and my Mini is the most fun drive I have had since my first skateboard ride down a big hill! I strongly recommend Mini of Alexandria. Talk to Vinnie.

Actually, I started my research on line one evening last week, then made an inquiry as to a particular Mini on the Mini Cooper website. I had to provide my zip code. I received an email within a short time of submitting it[the same evening]from Passport Mini of Alexandria. The email was from Peter Lawford and provided a website to check out their inventory and several questions as to the type of car that would meet my needs. He responded to the characteristics I was looking for by providing the inventory numbers of several cars within dealership inventory[I could go online to look at them] that would meet my specifications. He suggested I set up a time to go for a test drive. That was arranged for Sunday, Oct.25. My husband and I arrived and Peter joined us,we talked about cars and what we were looking for in a car. He gave us some time to look at the various Mini Coopers on the lot both new and used. We decided to take one of the cars I had expressed an interest in for a test drive. He went over the features of the car before starting out, giving us both a chance to adjust seats, mirrors, etc. until we felt comfortable with going forth. Obviously, the test drive was a well thought out route because it gave us various opportunities to experience the many attributes of the Mini. We returned to the dealership, decided to purchase the car that we had test drove. Mr. Lawford asked if there was any features besides the ones already on the car that we wanted and reviewed options. We purchased our Mini, the one we test drove. The great thing about this dealership was there was no pressure to buy. I felt they believed they had a great car and the decision was ours. Mr. Lawford was very professional. He was attentive, engaging,and knowledgeable about the cars qualities, explaining features and why they were important to us. He gave us the "grand tour" of the dealership even to walking through the area where our car would be serviced[it was Sunday]. He explained the standards the company had for workmanship and the concern they had for their mechanics by insuring a safe work enviroment. I, at first, thought the "tour" was silly but realized it was important to me to know because my car would be serviced by someone who was valued and more likely to take pride in their work. The financing of the car was a part of this seamless process. Even when the last signature was on the forms and the car had been delivered, I mentioned I probably had made a mistake by not purchasing one of the added features. Mr. Lawford said , no problem, he spoke with the finance person, Adam[sorry can't remember his last name], they redid alot of the paperwork to include this last minute change of heart. We signed again and with absolutely no regrets we left with our Mini Cooper!
