We stopped in unexpectedly on our way to Renton to look at some Subaru Outbacks. We got DJ as our salesperson and we had a great experience with him. We ended up with a great deal price-wise with really no haggling, he took us on a lengthy test drive, and after the sale spent a lot of time with us in the car explaining features and even setting some of them, like the hands-free phone pairing, up for us before we left. The only part I really didn't like was having to go to a separate office/person to do the contract/financial part, and the pitch to sell extras during that part. No real pressure, there, either, though. Overall a good experience.

My husband and I already knew we wanted too purchase a Subaru, either a FORESTER or OUTBACK. And Joe, made that all possible for us. Soon as we came inn, we took the Forester for a test drive with Amy. And in less than an hour, we were heading home with our BRAND NEW SUBARU FORESTER 2.5i. We've had very bad customer service with buying a vehicle in the past. Waiting waiting and more waiting is the one thing I wanted too avoid. And with Joe helping us with all the paperwork before we headed over, that was avoided. WE LOVE OUR NEW SUBARU and we named her SAMMY. Purchased a CPO 2016 Subaru Legacy 2.5i Limited. I worked with Garrett over the course of a couple of days to test drive the rig, talk in detail about Subaru, and negotiate a deal. I never felt pressured by Garrett to make a purchase I wasn't ready for. He was quick to reply to my questions via text and email as I had them. The price was fair--not great--but fair. And that's important. I did receive a discount, which I appreciate, and landed slightly below list price. I definitely felt heard, like my opinion mattered, and that I was a valued customer. We all know there is a profit to be made--it's sales after all--but I did not feel bamboozled. Only critique would be around experience with finance. I'm a local Branch Manager for a national bank, so I'm in the business of sales and understand the sales process. However, the markup for GAP insurance is significant. And, the pressure to purchase an extended warranty beyond the INCREDIBLE 7 YR/100,000mi warranty was annoying. I didn't bite. Even after several questions, which pressed for specific objections. That part of the experience, unfortunately, stands in contrast with the sales team up front. With that said, I'll secure my own financing next time because I will be back again. I will do business with this dealership personally again and I'll be sure to recommend Garrett and sales team. Looking forward to a strong partnership with this Subaru team!

Went to Bobby to refinance our car, after signing papers and basically a done deal, almost 2 weeks later we are now told by Bryan Merkley that the "deal" didn't go through because of a federal law. Why are we just now being told about this, and not at the time we refinanced? Poor, poor service if you ask me. We are buying a house and this info is needed. Now we have to go a different, thanks to the unprofessional help of this finance team.

My wife and I were looking for a new AWD from the Japanese competition but decided to test drive the Forester at Peninsula Subaru neither of us had even considered a Subaru as even beings the running. The salesman explained the features and let us go where we pleased. I was encouraged to try the AWD on leaves, hills, 2 inches of water over the road way. When asked what I thougt about the car I said I liked it but needed he competition. He told me what vehicles were the closest competition and wished us luck, no pressure, no negative comments about the competition. We the drove the two main Japanese competitors (we have family with the American competion and did not like the reliance on a turbo to be able to do more than coast. The competition lacked the great traction and comfort of the Subaru. My wife and I both noticed the Forester had better visibility and I mentioned it to both of th other dealers. As soon as they knew we were considering Subaru the remainder of the test drive was bashing Subaru by the sales guys. What was interesting is all the negatives they mentioned also applied to their vehicles as well but they had no mechanical expierence or education to know it. I tried to negotiate on the price on the competition and they stuck with the MSRP and only a slight discount with Costco etc. My wife looked at me and said why bother the Subaru is nicer car and had better visibility. We went back to Peninsula Subaru again after doing some on line price comparison. The sales staff showed us the numbers instantly offering a great price beating even the Costco price by a few dollars. While they were working on the details with my wife, I was checking on line prices in Puyallup and the North Sound inorder to avoid buyers remorse. I found a better price on line but it was a one day sale, one car etc. etc(probably gone if we went ther etc). I showed the salesman, he showed the manager and came back with all the papers showing the new price. No haggling. Lower sales tax. Free oil changes etc. They installed the accessories and we drove off in the first storm of the season.

Test drove and purchased a 2017 Forester. Jason and Amir were easy to work with and helped to make the process as smooth as possible. Jason explained and demonstrated most of the features and then sat back and let us drive and experience the vehicle uninterrupted for a really good thorough test drive. Both he and Amir worked with us to get the deal we wanted, and as importantly have been helpful after the sale in answering any questions I've had and in getting some additional options I desired scheduled with the Service department for installation.

I love my new car and the salesmen were incredible here! Wesley Jordan was awesome to work with and I'd highly recommend him as a salesman. However, the processing and paperwork after the fact was such a hassle! Repeatedly had issues and had to keep coming back to resign and resend paperwork. I've never had this much of a problem with car paperwork before. Great car but I'd recommend considering other dealerships if you want everything to be properly squared away the first time.

just bought 2016 Impreza for my daughter as a replacement of her Legacy. we were impressed for the professionalism of Nick Dionas. He is very easy to deal without any pressure. This was our first time buying a car from Peninsula Subaru and we will go back based on our pleasant purchasing experience. Mr. Bret Johnson showed us several cars and pointed out the main features of each model. We decided on a Forester because of the excellent 360 degree visibility from the drivers seat. Bret let us drive the Forester and then gave us a good deal we couldn't pass up. He had the car prepared while we did the paperwork and it was ready to drive home after the paperwork was done. The entire experience was stress free, no haggling, very efficient, and very professional. And they are giving us free oil/filter changes for as long as we own the car. I highly recommend Peninsula Subaru and especially Bret Johnson. Ask for him when visiting and he will take good care of you.

Wesley doesn't seem in a rush and genuinely cares about his customers.Bobby was very fun! A typical finance experience seems pushy and has a hardcore "business" attitude. This is our third Subaru through DJ at Peninsula Subaru. We've bought a Forester, Outback and two days ago my beautiful Legacy. From the moment I walked in DJ made me feel like he truly cared about my car buying experience. They didn't have the color I wanted in stock, so the next day he personally drove it to my house and helped me sync my phone to it. I came to Peninsula for the 2nd time to purchase a new car. The first was the Forrester which suited my request for a family car at the time. Two weeks ago I went in again, asking for something like it, but Adam listened to my needs. I now could use a smaller car. He suggested a Legacy and after driving one, I bought it, I'm thrilled with the dashboard, like a "space age command center", comfortable drive and maneuverability. There was no pressure, just an evaluation of a correct fit for what I needed now.I'd highly recommended Peninsula Subaru for the good service, personable sales personnel and attention to the buyer's needs!!!

I was looking for a used Outback for my son in law who was in the military. He was in tech school and did not have time to car shop before heading to his assignment in Great Falls MT. I found the car on the web. I asked for and received a record of all the work that had been done on the car. I did have too take the car back to be detailed. I was given a very nice loaner car to use while the car was being detailed. Jonathan Bowers was an excellent salesman. He had very good understanding of Subaru's. It was a pleasure to do business with him. The lady who handled the money end of things was also a pleasure to work with. I'm sorry I don't remember her name.

We had a wonderful relationship with our Sales person Jonathan B. He was perfect. No pressure, fun, personable, and knowledgeable. Everything went great until we went to finance. We came in with a check for the car but we were sent to finance for high pressure extended warranty sales and additional options. We were also asked if we wanted to finance the car there. What? We have a check for the car. My husband made it perfectly clear we were not interested in any additional options and the finance sales person, Bryan, continued with the high pressure sales pitch. My husband walked out. He was ready to leave the exact car he wanted because he felt he was not listened to by Bryan. We finally made the deal, but it was only because of Jonathan. Will we go back? I don't think we will.

Romeo Garcia was extremely helpful to both of us in helping to select the Legacy after several visits to the dealership. In addition, he was able to explain all the new functions available on this model, set up our Bluetooth connections, radio stations, and explained the use of all the tabs & switches on the dash. He was very patient when we had some difficulties learning about all the new features & options on this model. We had not looked for a new car since 2001, and we were uncomfortable with all the new technology. Romeo worked closely with us and made us feel that we had made the right choice of new car, and has offered to help anytime we are confused about the new technology available on this model.

I bought a used car and was told that the dealership was required by federal law to keep my and my wife's social security numbers on file due to the amount of the transaction. I confirmed verbally that no credit check would be run. The dealership then ran a hard credit check on myself and my wife two days later against our express instructions. When I called to complain, I was told that they possess a signed credit check approval from each of us despite the fact that neither of us consented to anything of the sort.

We looked at a used Subaru and also did our fair share of Internet research before going in. DJ our sales person was professional and non pressuring. We found a car we love and got a ton of information without being overwhelmed. Not only was the brand new car a better value than the used but the financing on a new car was 5% less than the used, even after a bankruptcy. Bobby in financing was very helpful. He explained everything and made our purchase stress free. As a team they work together well and make customers feel important.

My car purchase through Peninsula Subaru was just fabulous! Having test-driven several comparable models at several nearby dealerships, I went online in search of the best deal. I contacted American Express, which offered me a good price on the model I wanted, and the names of dealerships which would honor that price. I was contacted by DJ Dougherty of Peninsula Subaru. The model, a 2016 Forester, was ordered from the factory. When it arrived, the Forester was driven to Sequim, to my driveway by two very nice gentlemen. How much more wonderful could this have been? After my 21 year truck got crunched beyond repair while stopped at a stop light over Christmas vacation, I had to start the painful process of searching for a new car. I used the Costco buying service and got a great deal on an almost new Outback. Frank helped me figure out what I needed, and with all the amazing safety features, I now feel safe and confident driving again. The lady who made contact with us initially and scheduled our appointment to come view the car was not there when we arrived for our meeting so we ended up working with Aaron Hill. It was a dark rainy night and Aaron pulled the car up under a lighted covered area for us to view. He then let us take the car out for a drive by ourselves which my wife really appreciated. It took us several days to decide that the Outback was the car that we wanted. By that time the one we had driven was already sold. It was the exact color and options package we were looking for so we were a little disappointed. The dealership went to work and found another one for us and had it there within a week, then held it for us till we could make it in to make the purchase.Aaron was very passionate about the brand and shared a lot of good information with us, but did not use any high pressure tactics. When we went is to close the deal and sign the papers the process was very easy and didn't take as long as we thought it would. We did the credit app on line in advance which helped.The only negative was that after our first viewing we would get daily e-mails thanking us for coming in and asking if we had any questions, but when I would respond to those messages, I got no response back. I don't know if they are just automated messages or what, but if you don't intend to reply to me, don't send me messages.We love our new car and were very pleased with the buying experience overall.

We have thought about a new Outback for quite a while. We made an appointment via the Costco auto buying program with DJ Dougherty and test drove the car we thought we wanted. It had a few options we didn't need and DJ quickly found us a different car that had just come on the lot that day. It also had a few things we hadn't planned on, but they worked out a very fair price for the car. They also were very fair with the trade in we negotiated as part of the deal. When we came back to pick up the car, it was pristine and waiting for us in front of the showroom. DJ took a lot of time explaining the features of the car and when we left we could not have hoped for a more positive experience. We would highly recommend the dealership. Five star all the way.

After researching vehicles we'd settled on the Legacy however had trouble finding the right combination of model, color and options at any of the dealerships in the area. In the process of hunting I had contacted DJ Dougherty by phone and was impressed by their helpfulness and attractive pricing on a vehicle similar to what I was seeking. So when it came time to buy I decided to call him back. I was glad I did as he was able to find the exact car I was seeking in a few minutes and provide a better price out the door then I had been able to obtain elsewhere. Adding the fact that they were relatively close and offered extras like "free oil changes" - it was an easy decision. It was all handled by phone in a few minutes. It was one of the quickest car purchases I have ever made. My decision was validated by how well organized everything was when it came time to pick up our car a couple of days later and complete the paperwork. The vehicle is loaded with high tech features, so we really appreciated that DJ took an hour to help us set up some of them and give us an orientation to the rest. We parted with an invitation to return to go over the car's features further after we had time get use to it. It appears after the sale service here is more then just a promise. It all happened because we took a few minutes to call back to check and see what they could offer. Good decision.

I highly recommend Peninsula Subaru for first time buyers. They see you, your life situations, what is needed and they explore all avenues to find the right vehicle for you. The Peninsula Subaru staff went above and beyond what I had expected. Although they could have made a bigger and quicker sale with another customer, they took their valuable time to listen to my situation. I let them know I started a great new job and I commuted two hours each way. During the first month and a half of working there, I had been through two used cars. I was trying to save money by buying older used cars. Instead, it cost me time away from work when they would break down. One car left me stranded in the middle of the freeway during rush hour. Seemed like everyone at Peninsula Subaru became involved to help. They saw how important it was for me to have a safe vehicle for myself, my son and other commuters! I was able to drive away in a new Mitsubishi Mirage! Stopped by to see if I could make a deal last Saturday (10-17-15) I had the cars VIN # which was at another dealer. Their sales manager was a nice guy but it took a while to get him to my figure. While he was doing this others were trying to contact the other dealer to secure the car,Tanner Dickson, a verynice guy, took good care til all arrangements were made. Car was lined up for delivery Monday as they close Sunday. Monday rolled around and I was informed the car was ready. The car was quite nicely detailed and thoroughly explained to my wife and I so away we went. Very very nice car (Legacy Limited) and good people to deal with.

Since we experienced DJ the last time we went straight to him this time. My wife was considering another manufacturer (Hyundai) so we asked DJ what he thought (we all know he would favor Subaru). He brought up a comparison chart and went into great detail with it. He was very honest where the other vehicle was similar in comparison and exceeded Subaru, but also showed where Subaru excelled. His honesty and being forthright was, again, very helpful in our decision making process. He is extremely knowledgeable, straight forward in his approach, quick to answer any questions that arise, and available to answer any future questions or give explanations. I'm not a fan of sales pitches and DJ does not do that. A VERY good experience again!

I had done my homework on the internet. I knew that I wanted to test drive a Subaru Legacy sedan with Eyesight - I had owned a Subaru Legacy wagon since August 2001 and wouldn't buy any other brand. As I am getting older, the safety features of Eyesight really appealed to me. When I arrived at the dealership, Frank Hart was standing outside to greet me and find out what I was interested in. First we went inside to verify what I wanted, and within a few minutes he brought a 2015 Legacy for me to test drive. He gave me some basic instruction in using the features of Eyesight and we were on our way for a test drive both on Interstate and local roads, so I got to experience Eyesight under various conditions.I was convinced, so it was just a matter of selecting colors and accessories. Since the dealership did not have a vehicle with the colors I wanted (bright blue exterior, ivory interior) plus a sun/moon roof, Peninsula+ went to work locating one at another dealership while we filled out paperwork and I decided details like down payment and monthly payment desired. It took about a week to find the car and intercept it before it even arrived at the other dealership; the car I received was really brand new with only the miles from where it was unloaded from the train to Peninsula.

This is rather a lengthy review but worth reading.In my over thirty years of car buying I've never been this happy and satisfied without exageration. It took me seven months doing research and test drives, looking for the best value for my money. I checked the CRV, RAV4, and Outback. Along the way, I met with different dealers' personnel and my experience with Peninsula Subaru and the others is day and night by comparison. I also boiught a RAV4 several years ago and it was a total disappointment. For example. when I was at the Finance offfice to complete the paperworks I was standing throughout the time the finance guy was preparing the documents. I had to sit myself. And when I received the registration and title, despite the fact that I paid cash, a credit union was showing as the lien holder. Those are just two of the many problems I had with this dealership. With Peninsula Subaru, my experience was just like buying an appliance at an appliance store; no pressure whatsoever. While I was looking online for an Outback I decided to call DJ Dougherty and asked him if they do a price match, Once he said yes he even told me that the price is even better than the price I get thru an Auto Buying Program that others offer. Once he told me what the price was I knew I was getting a great deal ( I said earlier it took me seven months to do research, and also taught Car Buying classes while in the military) and since they don't have the one I want in stock he will get it from other dealers. We finalized the deal over the phone WITHOUT putting money down. And he asked me when I can pick up the car. The next day DJ called me to let me know that he will not be available the day I will pick up the car, and that the price is final without changes to the deal and I will see Erik Lelevier. I became suspicious, because in my experience, this is one of the tricks some dealerships use. I decided to show up anyway as agreed to see Erik. Once I met Erik my suspicion was gone and I felt at ease immediately. He was very pleasant to talk to, very respectful, courteous, and accomodating. Once we were done inspecting the car, he took me to the Finance office to meet Kevin Dunn. Experience with Kevin was no different. Total time spent with paperworks was less than thirty minutes from Erik to Kevin. Also I cannot forget John Kearns who I first met last summer and he was instrumental in my going back to Peninsula Subaru. Everyone I dealt with was sincere and their professionalism was on full display each time I visited the place. Comparing Peninsula Subaru and other dealerships I dealt with, this is byfar the most honest and trustworthy. This also changed my mind to stick with Subaru cars in my future purchases and definitely recommend to anyone I know to buy from them.

To start I walked in stating I had special needs that may or may not be able to be met. The team helped me figure out very fast what I was looking for & we got down to business ASAP. Thankfully I knew before arrival that the Mitsubishi Mirage was the car for me. It's only been a few days but I am very happy with this car! It is very stylish I think & the car runs so very smooth, The gas mileage has been very prime & I actually have kept the car in the Eco light lit almost 95% of the time...Other than going up hills.... Yesterday though I was able tog go up a steep hill & still got the Eco light to stay on! :)~ BTW the Bluetooth feature works AMAZINGLY well in this car! I have found that it can hold a lot of groceries too! I mean every day I am more & more impressed with this thing! Only problem so far is that I have not named it yet...... so I hope her name comes to me this month :) My cousin Rayshel has been a Peninsula Mitsubishi owner for either 2 or 3 of her cars so far. I called on an Outback in transit and Joe was infirmative , not rude or pushy. I wasn't able to come in before Joe left for the day so when I arrived Steven had Andrew help me out. Andrew was great to work with. I had been kicking the tires of new vehicles for a few months and had things narrowed down to either their Outback or a Forrester somewhere else. Andrew and my family helped me weigh the options and decide on the Forrester. They didn't have it in stock but found one and fully matched the other dealer's offer, plus free oil changes for life! I called Josh in service when my old Subie was on it's dying wheels. He knew who I was right away, and was ready for me when I arrived. After determining that the car indeed was not worth repairing, he introduced me to DJ. DJ was great! He patiently went through the scenarios of leasing a new car and purchasing a used one. For my purposes it made sense to lease. We test drove a Crosstrek as I wanted to stay with something smaller in size. I thought that was it for me. On a whim, we drove a Forester around the parking lot, and I knew that was it for me. I appreciated DJ's patience in this process. My wife and I are shrewd car buyers, but the Peninsula Subaru team did a good job of keeping up with us. We argued on pricing quite a bit and eventually came to a satisfactory deal. There was an issue with one of the keys we received; Andy and Tanner eventually deduced that there had been a mixup and some keys had been mislabeled. They went to an identical car, and because of the mixup, we had actually purchased the other car rather than the one we were driving. We needed to leave to pick up our son from pre-school and were given a choice: move all of our stuff into the other car or re-sign the paperwork. They knew we were short on time and were happy to let us leave with the agreement that we'd come back later to straighten things out. We chose to stick with the car we were driving and re-sign the paperwork, which was a quick and easy process.

Our experience deciding to purchase went well; super attentive sales staff, quick responses to email regarding questions we had about our vehicle prior to buying, no delays what so ever. Our salesman (Larry Wright) was great. We had developed a relationship with Larry during our visits and he knew our financial situation and how much we were willing to spend. Once we were passed off to the finance person, none of that was relayed to him and we were fighting off warranties left and right. I understand that warranties are a part of buying a car, but had he known our financial situation prior to offering those to us, he would not have tried for over 45 minutes to get us to purchases warranties and extend our loan. Once we paid for our vehicle, our our experience went from being pretty good to pretty horrible. Our vehicle arrived 4-5 weeks later, which was later than we were told, and it was like pulling teeth to get any info about when we could expect it to arrive or what the current status was. I called several times (even multiple times in a day) and was always told there would be someone to call me with an update on my car...that did not happen. Each time I called I had to explain who I was, what the situation was and provide them with my email/phone number to be contacted. I even gave out my work phone, and hours I was available. I That was very frustrating and disappointing. Emails were no longer response to and it felt like now that we had purchased the car, the customer service we were used to had changed. We were told our car would arrive before our camping trip at the end of August and it wasn't until three days before we left that I was told the car had arrived. Once again, I had to call the dealership to ask about the status of the car rather than someone calling me to let me know it was there. After we picked up the car, we were in the parking lot of your dealership and realized that one of the two keys didn't work. We asked about it and nobody there knew what to do. We were told to bring the car back the next day and they would fix it. With our works schedules being so crazy, someone from suburu stopped by our house to get the car and try and fix the key situation while we were at work. Unknown to us, he put over 180 miles on the car that day and still didn't fix the problem with the key. This was just unacceptable to us. We contacted your manager there and he was very gracious about making the situation right and apologizing about our experience.We love our car and had a great time with Larry looking and test driving vehicles in your lot. I just wish the second half of our experience was as good as the first.

First of all I went to your Subaru dealer because it is closed on Sunday for a family day. I think that is very commendable and drew me to your dealership. Tanner Dickson was my sales person, he was very helpful, patient and polite. Any questions he didn't know he would find out the answer to. Calling and getting a hold of someone at the store after the sale can be a little difficult because there seem to be so many stores and the customer does not realize which store their sales person or the manager they want to talk to really works at. I bought a certified pre owned car and I think anyone purchasing a car wants to find the lowest price of the car. I don't know that I got a great deal for price on my car and have some regrets about spending so much but I appreciate the service and the hospitality of the dealership. They are following up on finding the books that go with the car as well as the extra key. I love my Forester so far, it has only been a couple of days but I think the car itself is great. I love that I sit higher up and there's room for my dog. I think this choice will help me with the weather in the Pacific Northwest as well as other places with snow that I frequent.

In addition to not having to haggle price or play the "let me talk to my manager game ", I got the cost of the Subaru independent of whether I was trading in my car. And then when I asked about how much I could get for my car, DJ used several sources to give the highest amount possible which turned out to be $1000 more then we owed and also saved us several thousand in sales tax by trading in the car! He got exactly the car I wanted from another dealer without trying to sell me one already loaded with extras that I didn't want and had it ready the next day. So not only do I have an awesome Subaru, I had an awesome experience buying it!

Either from the "not-knowing" of a used car or the" I can't believe I just paid that much" for a new car. From the moment I walked in, the dealership felt like a friendly, homey place. The employees were relaxed, helpful and humorous. I was not planning on buying a car when I went in, I just wanted to test drive some vehicles. But Sal and Andy were able to get me the amount for my trade-in that I was asking from a private party. It was a no-brainer! I absolutely LOVE my Crosstrek. It is so fun to drive and I love having a manual again. I have previously had a 2002 Legacy Outback and just traded in a 2009 Legacy. I LOVE Subaru and cannot imagine getting any other vehicle.I felt like I was treated fairly and I feel comfortable with the price I paid. I was not treated like a woman who doesn't know anything, I was treated with respect and Andrew listened to exactly what I wanted. He did not try to push me into a car that was too expensive-I wouldn't have gone for it anyway. But he went with what I wanted and could afford, which was the base model with a manual transmission. There wasn't one on the lot, so they had to find one for me and bring it in.I will TOTALLY send others to Peninsula. What a pain free way to buy a car!

We have had less than pleasant experiences in the past when purchasing autos and this proved that it doesn't have to be a hassle. We got a great car, at a great price, without any haggling. Peninsula Subaru currently has the lowest prices in the state on new 2014 Subaru Outbacks. After a negative experience with out local dealer, it was refreshing to work with the team at Peninsula. The prices were so great that we didn't feel the need to haggle and they delivered our car and the paperwork to Bellingham so we never had to leave home. Our current Forester is the third one we have owned. We ALWAYS maintain the 3000 mile/three month oil/filter change and other scheduled maintenance so we have frequent and regular contact with the Peninsula Subaru staff. All of the staff here are terrific. Josh is my wife and my favorite. Josh is always cheerful and friendly and above all else helpful and professional. Scott in service, and Sal in sales, are also professional and friendly. I have also visited twice with Peninsula Subaru owner, Mr John Dionas. Mr Dionas sets the high standard that his employees can follow. Overall our experience was great. Andrew was great, He was kind and patient, and was not overly pushy with selling us things we didn't want. My only gripe is with the financing guy. I think his name was Brian. We made it clear from the beginning that we were utilizing our own bank for financing, And even after telling Andrew and the financing guy that we were utilizing our own bank, the financing guy still tried to get us to sign a credit application utilizing his sales tactics. Saying "there is no guarantee the car is going to be here when you get back, if you don't sign this form." Really? Then why would your sales associate waste our time and his time with securing the purchase of this vehicle if it is going to be offered to someone else. That just seems like bad business to me. The financing guy didn't even explain what the form was until I asked. Anyway, all that aside love the car. Thank you Peninsula Subaru! My friend in Sequim WA was in the market for a 2014 Subaru Outback. She contacted Peninsula Subaru through the Costco Auto program. DJ Dougherty was immediately available to her and made the buying experience very professional and pleasant. I owned a 2011 Volvo S-80, but was interested in the advanced safety features and navigation in the Outback, but not available in my price range in the Volvo. I was casually interested in the 2015 Subaru Outback. But after meeting DJ, and knowing how pleased my friend was with Peninsula Subaru, it was a very easy decision to trade in my Volvo and purchase a 2014 Subaru Outback, identical to that of my friend's. The only difference? Hers has Washington plates and mine has Oregon plates! I'm glad I worked with Peninsula and DJ and would encourage my friends to make the drive from Portland to Bremerton.

I would recommend the dealership, but only with some reservations.My interaction with Mr. Dougherty was quite pleasant. I was a little disappointed that my new vehicle was not washed - I appreciate that the car wash the dealership uses was closed that day due to the holiday, but I think someone at the dealership could have used a hose and a little car wash detergent to remove the bird droppings. The offer for me to return another day for a free car wash was not helpful, as I live about 35 miles from the dealership - 2 minutes with a hose at home fixed that problem.I also was not happy with being shunted to another individual to complete the "paperwork". This additional encounter was obviously only an opportunity to sell me additional products and services I did not need or want. While I did agree to an extended service agreement, only because of the many computerized components and sealed mechanical components that would be difficult for me to service at home, the final paper contract did not agree with the verbal offer. I did not recognize the change until I was reviewing all of the paperwork after returning home. While a phone call to the dealership corrected that problem, I should not have had to deal with that problem. The 2nd salesman probably identified himself when I first encountered him, but I did not remember his name. He did not give me a business card and his signature on the service contract is totally illegible. I dislike the $150 "Dealer Documentary Service Fee" tacked onto the final purchase price. This would seem to be a cost of their doing business. Imagine the furor that would arise if a physician added a fee to a patient encounter to cover his "cost" of documenting the encounter in the medical record.

DJ is a true professional and did not pressure us when we wanted time to make our decision. I purchased a new Outback from Peninsula Subaru last weekend. They understood that it was going to take a good deal to get me to drive there from South King County and they came through with a really good offer over the phone. Kory Hudson the salesman and Kevin Dunn the finance guy (business manager) got though the sales paperwork and the financing in less than an hour. While they asked if I would be interested in some of the add on items (undercoating and extended warranty) it wasn't a hard sell, just an offer. Since I had to drive out Bremerton by myself, I couldn't drive the new car home. Korey Hudson went the extra mile (or sixty miles) and delivered the car to my house a few days later.

I am a recent college graduate who was in the market to buy my first car. My experience prior to this had been stressful and tiresome. Upon making my way out to Bremerton, I was pleasantly surprised and relieved. The owner, John Dionas helped connect me with one of his sales guys, Andrew Rutledge. John and Andy helped me get into the Cross trek easily and at an amazing price. My experience was extremely positive and I will definitely be coming back in a few years to do business with them again. I appreciate the whole business environment they have out at Peninsula Subaru and would also be inclined to recommend friends to do business with them as well. This is our 3rd vehicle purchased from Peninsula Subaru, and every time has been a great experience. We appreciated that DJ and Bret listened to what we were wanting and showed us vehicles based on that. The previous day I had visited a Ford/Mazda lot and suffered through them showing me cars that were not what I had described or wanted. We never got a pushy, hard sale "vibe" from Bret or DJ. It felt like we were dealing with a friend we could trust. They were both very knowledgable on the Subaru products and it saved me a lot of time researching the different trim levels. I was extremely impressed with the dealership and the You will drive out the car you want attitude. I absolutely love the car and look forward to a long relationship with this dealership. I would caution however to not rush when discussing a trade in. I gave them a 2012 Mini Cooper that had a Blue Book trade in value of about $14,900 and mine was immaculate. I received $10,500 for it and it's now listed for $20,999. I got my car for $100 over dealer invoice; but I'm sure they won't come up too short given the trade in on the other end. They are very good salesman and expect that the service will be top notch.

I really liked the staff I worked with. This is a pretty aggressive dealership when it comes to getting you to buy same day but I kind of like that and feel like you should always be prepared for that when your serious about buying a car from any dealership, it is there job after all. The only thing I have to say is when asking questions about the car I bought (2014 cross trek hybrid) the sales associate had no knowledge what so ever about the hybrid side of the car and the excuse was that they have not been trained on that car yet because there so new. I feel that before putting something up for sale, you should have already been trained on what your selling. I also didn't like that this is a USAA certified dealer and USAA has a fair price guarantee that you can print out and bring to the dealership and get that price no questions ask, it took almost an hour and half of haggling to agree to give me the USAA price after throwing every excuse in the book at me as to why they can't sell it at that price. If your getting publicity from a web site that got me in to your dealership in the first place, then its kind of a slap in the face to not honer the price match no questions asked. Those are the only two problems I had and over all I had a great experience once everything was said and done.

Upon seeing an ad by this dealer on cars.com, I contacted them to seek more information and pictures about a BMW they were selling, since the ad did not contain this pertinent information. I informed their saleswoman April that I was a motivated buyer looking for a car in that price range and color, and simply wanted to see the carfax and photos before I drove across the sound to come see it. Two days later I still had no email or follow up call from her, so I called back. I verified my email address and re-emphasized my increased interest for this particular car, however it seemed as though my business was not of high importance to them, and a week later still had not received photos or information on the vehicle. How a car dealer can brush off an interested, pre-approved buyer is beyond me. Terrible way to do business.

Drove 200+ RT miles to purchase a used subie. Details of the car were discussed at length over the phone. We agreed upon a price for the car described as nearly flawless. Just a couple of pencil eraser sized marks near the tailgate. An amazing interior with no wear, one of the top two used interiors on the lot. Dealer serviced for the past 70K+ miles, all service done and ready to go. If there was a problem to be found when they took it in, they fixed it cause their service guys will make it right before they sell it......Reality: Multiple bodyshop visits and repaints, one foglamp broken with holes, 5 rock chips in the windshield, broken center arm rest, tear in driver seat, front brake rotors badly worn and needing repair, a wax/detail job that leave excess wax everywhere and without bothering to clean any of the exterior cracks/door handles and such, and the list could go on. Far, Far from an outstanding condition vehicle that's fully serviced and ready to go. Typical dealer looking for the sale over taking the time to be able to represent something accurately. Wasted my time.

Just purchased my 3rd new Subaru from D.J. at Peninsula. The first 2 cars I compared price etc. with several other dealers. None could match the overall offer, the car I wanted, the price that was right. So, on the 3rd purchase, just last month, I told D.J. that I was no longer going to waste my time trying to beat his offer; I just trusted that he would always go the extra mile in making my purchase the very best deal he was capable of. Now that puts some pressure on him but he was, once again, up to the task. Even after we had come to a very generous purchase agreement and the loan papers were drawn up and we were both in the new Forrester doing the check over thing, I noticed that I had forgotten to request an important $500 add on feature. D.J. didn't blink an eye and simply had me take the car to the shop, right then and there, and had them install that feature for free. I think I'll keep coming back. We're even now talking about the new 14' Forrester that has all the new upgrades. Need a new Subaru? I highly recommend D.J. at Peninsula.

These are the kind of people who give used car salesmen their bad name. Watch out for: 1. Their good cop, bad cop routine. A no-pressure, customer-is-important-to-us guy is followed by a high-pressure, slick, wheeler-dealer. This wheeler-dealer is NOT your friend. 2. No sticker price on the car. So they quoted us a higher price than what theyd already advertised their own published price then negotiated from the inflated price. We consider that a deceptive, bad-faith negotiation; wouldnt you?3. Their buy-now, one-time-only, not available again if you leave the lot deal (translation: were withholding information and you dont know it). With us, starting from the higher, deceptive price, they negotiated to a price slightly below what theyve already advertised. When wed signed a contract and later discovered the true advertised price, they first said Gee, we didnt realize that (right, we believe that), then said Gee, we dont see a problem. Your purchase price was below the advertised price; you got a great deal (right, great for them, not for us). And then, of course, Hey, you got an honest price. Were very honest, thats important to us. I guess there are lots of definitions as to whats honest. Mine certainly differs from theirs.Not enough? They sold us a car with an almost empty gas tank, saying Its enough gas to get you to Costco. Wed driven less than 30 miles when a dashboard light came on: Service Now! And naturally, there was no owners manual in the car (online price: $84). All this is pitiful.You may have heard that for a business like this, many or all of the positive online reviews are paid for or placed by the business themselves. Let me assure you, this is not one of them.My advice: avoid this dealership. Buy somewhere else.

We went to look at a 3 year old Suzuki. Walked into the building which smelled of cigarette smoke. Waited for the car to be brought and when It arrived, it looked trashed: Covered in mud, filthy inside and out. On closer inspection, rear driver side door had been repainted. It was a very bad job with paint flaking off on the door and paint extending out to rubber door seals. We learned that the salesman used the car, and considering his nonchalant manner and the flippant way he presented the car to us, and didn't seem to want to make a sale. We were disgusted and had no further interest in dealing with them. We won't ever go back to that place.
