As always when I walk into the service department everyone is cordial. This was my first time working with Jackie and she was very professional and helpful. She even went as far to tell me that she would not be there when I came back to pick up my car but that all recommended service would be printed when I came to pick up my car. I love this place... professional as ALWAYS and friendly. I had my car serviced there yesterday and I have my favorites (WILL) ALWAYS PROFESSIONAL 👏🏾👏🏾 at the service department. From start to finish my experience at Pohanka Hyundai was enjoyable. I knew what car(s) I was interested in and made an appointment with Chin to meet on Saturday. Once I arrived at the dealership, Chin greeted me, and we went on a couple of test drives. By the following Sunday I was driving my new car home, & although I am still learning about all the features, it is great.

Came here because closest hyundai dealer to me. Worked with karim and he was pleasant to deal with. My wife and I took a few hours to decide and he was patient during our back and forth and negotiating with him and the sales manager. If I have friends looking for car I'd suggest pohanka and karim as a place to atart.

The purchase process and the courtesy extended by the Salesperson (Mr. Chin) was excellent. What I was disappointed with was delivery standard: the car was washed but not properly. Mr. Chin sent it back to the Wash team after i pointed it out to him. Also, the gas tank was not full (it was little over 3/4th tank full). I was in a rush so I did not mention it to him. My conclusion is that delivery team should be more diligent in prepping a car for Delivery. But, Mr. Chin did all he can to make me happy!

I received excellent service from the time that I pulled into the parking lot until the time I left. The salesperson, the manager and the other staff were all welcoming and accommodating. They wanted to make sure that I got exactly what I wanted in a vehicle - color - accessories, etc. They even went to another dealer to get the car that I wanted because they did not have one in stock. I appreciated that very much.

Dan Goodwyn was my sales representative. He deserves to be recognized for his exemplary performance as a sales person. The pricing was pot on. I walked into the dealership having obtained a price for the vehicle I wanted through truecar.com. Based on the price agreed upon on the truecar.com certificate Dan and the dealership honored this and priced out the lease price of the vehicle I wanted. It came to $355 a month for 12,000. The exact certificate was also issued for the first dealership I first went to: Alexandria Hyundai (Mt. Vernon Ave., VA). They ignored the certificate and prices the exact same vehicle at $420 p/m. This was predatory pricing on their part which I did not appreciate. Do NOT purchase/lease a vehicle from Hyunadai Alexandria! Hyundai Pohanka staff and sales experience were transparent, fair and as car buying should be. Dan Goodwyn is a good person and deserves to be emulated.

As I mentioned on the previous page, me and my daughter had a great experience. Our sales representative Ms. Tameka Owens was knowledgeable about the cars, kind, and hospitable. I have been to car dealerships before and spent the whole day their just trying to buy a car. I was so amazed at how quickly we purchased the car. Tameka did not try to sell us something that was out of our price range. In fact she considered our budget and what was affordable for us. I really enjoyed the conversations me and my daughter had with her about her family and ours as well. Everyone there was so kind to us. Several gentlemen just came over to introduce themselves and congratulate us on buying our new car. The finance lady was wonderful. Everything went so smoothly. As I said before Tameka is a people person and is definitely an asset to your organization.

After over 8 months of researching and coming to a final decision on the vehicle and options I wanted, Pohanka Hyundai had the best value offer. I purchased a 2016 Sante Fe Sport 2ot Ultimate AWD. Our sales person, Dan Penna, was extremely helpful in finding our vehicle of choice. Mr. Penna came in on his day off to meet with us, provided excellent customer service and was very thorough throughout the sales process from beginning to close as well as follow up after the sale. We are extremely happy with our purchase and hope to enjoy it for many years to come. My friends have questioned why I drove to Maryland to purchase my vehicle instead of having it sent to a local dealer to pick up. The value and fantastic customer service made the trip worth it and I wouldn't hesitate to do it again should the need arise.

The primary reason for this outstanding experience was the superb professionalism and knowledge of my sales person. She was attentive but never overbearing. She answered every question I had and also solicited assistance from one of the other sales team members who also had a wealth of knowledge about the vehicle. She has called me twice since I purchased the vehicle to check on my level of satisfaction and to determine if I had other questions related to my new car. Unfortunately, I live outside of Maryland and will not be able to have the car serviced at this dealership.

I went in to look at a new Elantra. My husband had arranged for a test drive a couple of days before. When we got there, the car was ready, in front, and all the doors open. Takema Owens, our sales representative, was extremely knowledgeable about the car, the packages, service. She was fantastic! She was funny, polite, and she listened to and answered all of my questions. I actually left the dealership to look at another car before returning to Pohanka to buy the car. The manager was personable and excellent to deal with; very fair and reasonable. The woman in charge of financing, Joann, was excellent as well. I have no reservations about dealing with anyone at this company. The entire process was exceptional.

This has been the worst car buying experience I have ever had and the worst customer service. I found a reasonably priced vehicle online and went to test drive it. The vehicle was vandalized by an incompetent employee so they say and would fix it within 5 days. I proceeded with the processing of the purchase and they provided me with a loaner vehicle on a Friday explaining my vehicle would be ready by Wednesday at the latest. Wednesday comes, no vehicle yet another excuse, Thursday and Friday comes with more excuses. Finally it is Tuesday of week 2 and still no vehicle. I have heard that the man did not order the correct paint all the way to the parts department ordered the wrong part. This happens all the while they have my down payment and check from the credit union. A learned lesson to never purchase a car from this dealership again and wait until the vehicle is completely finished before proceeding with the purchase of sale. Oh and let's mention that I purchased an SUV while they provided me with a car as the loaner. How is this comparable? Absolutely NO customer service. The sales person sends me text messages instead of calling with updates when they finally happen. Otherwise, we need to call her for an update. Stay far, far away from this dealership. The sales people are unprofessional, the manager never returns calls, and they blame each other.

I just purchased two new 2016 Hyundai vehicles, a Santa Fe and an Accent. We liked our salesman Mr. Dan Goodwyn. At the moment other than a few little quirks with the Santa Fe my husband and I are satisfied. It has taken us about 26 years for use to get the nerve to purchase another Hyundai and that long for Hyundai to prove themselves to us. It was 26 years ago when my husband and I bought our first new Hyundai. While my husband was driving Hyundai back then on a major highway, it suddenly stopped and caught fire. It was gutted. So although I'm happy with our salesman and Pohanka, I will let you know how the next few years go with these two new vehicles.

Service dept was nice & I was just inquiring about service intervals, etc. Parts guy was amazing. Double checked floor mats for me with price & availability. 2 service staff came up to me to see if I was being helped while parts staff was researching. That was nice. My excellent rating is for Chris Smith and his manager ONLY. However, my experience with the Service Department at this location was "poor." I give the service department from top to bottom a ZERO! That is why I traded in my OLD vehicle.Please improve your Service Department at this location! In particular, the customer service representatives working the front desks and answering the phones. they are unprofessional. They're impolite on the phone and in person. Chew and pop gum, wear flip flops to work, and sometimes no one is at the desk and customers are left waiting for service. I was also given the wrong set of keys that belonged to another customer's vehicle. The staff in the service department seem as though they don't want to work there. I will not take my new car for service at this location. Chris Smith in sales is excellent! I wish every staff member in each department provided the same level of pleasant and professional service!

I recently purchased a 2016 Hyundai Elantra from Pohanka Hyundai off exit 13. Worked with Danny Pena again due to purchasing a 15 Hyundai Tucson from him in January for my husband. We love his professionalism and knowledge of the vehicles. Danny always goes out of his way to make sure that the customer is EXTREMELY satisfied and happy with their service and purchase. Tim in finance was also very helpful and made the paperwork process extremely easy and quick since I had a baby with me also. I overall love the staff at this location and their professionalism. My previous vehicle was a Hyundai also and it was time to trade it in for something new after having it for 10 years. The sales and delivery experience was awesome. The sales and finance staff were very professional and went out of their way to locate and deliver the exact car we were looking for. Danny drove to a dealership in Virginia to get the car and bring it back to us for delivery. The extended warranty and finance people made very professional thorough and concise presentations without any hard sell tactics which is VERY unusual in my experience. We worked primarily with Danny during the process but our associate sales person Tamara was quite helpful as well and Don the sales manager could not have been more accommodating. We almost walked out of a dealership last year while purchasing a vehicle for my daughter due to the laborious multi hour up sell process we endured AFTER we had the vehicle prepped and were just trying to pay for it and go home. The Pohanka experience was the complete opposite of that ordeal. We have and will continue to recommend Pohanka to our friends and family. We will certainly plan to purchase our next vehicle at Pohanka

I just bought a 2013 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid yesterday. After looking at a couple dealerships in MD and VA, I went to Pohanka Hyundai. I had heard of them from my roommate who has a 2009 Sonata that has been serviced there with great results and when I was at another dealership, the salesman noted how their Sonata Hybrid didn't come with a warranty (saying hyundai doesn't extend warranties to second owners) and that it'd be best to save some room in my budget to get a warranty from my local dealership. Since Pohanka is my local dealership I looked to see if they had the type of car I wanted, they had 3, all with included original warranties, plus their two-year used car warranty! Their sales price was higher, but with the warranty and negotiating for a better trade in value for my Toyota Corolla, they price was the same as other dealerships without the bumper to bumper warranty - which is great peace of mind, especially with the amount of driving I do. I worked with Danny Pena, and compared to the other salespeople I dealt with at other places, i felt immediately at home with. We chatted on and joked like old friends, took it on a test drive, and the process felt very straight forward and smooth. I did my research on the value of my trade and the value of the car I was getting and feel confident that I not only got a great deal but that looking toward the future that I have a great service center in my corner in case anything happens to my new car. Nothing but good feelings so far with not only Danny but every representative that I met with. Highly recommend!

I purchased a used 2013 Hyundai Sonata and my sales person Nate Harris was awesome. The staff there was great and made me feel like family. I left there feeling loved. There were a few things needed taken care of due to a mere oversight but the manager Eric Woodward, Nate Harris my sales person had no problem getting it resolved. I haven't purchased a car in 14 years and I was dreading the experience. Danny Pena took care of me like I was family. From start to finish it took approximately 3.5 hours. We purchased our 3rd Hyundai from Pohanka and it has been a nightmare. We incorrectly thought there was a three day period to review the contract and although we discussed this with three different staff - no one corrected this. We had been there for hours with a two year old and signed off on documents repeatedly saying we would review for the 3 days. We were charged far more for the vehicle than quoted, did not receive any incentives advertised including loyal customer although we traded in a Hyundai which was paid in full. We were there until closing and returned the following morning at opening with the discrepancies in charges and were basically laughed at and told we signed it - it's ours and there is no 3 day grace period in Maryland and they were under no obligation to tell us that even though they knew we were operating with that assumption. We have tried to resolve this over the past few months and they do not return calls, e-mails or letters. We ended up trading the car (which was useless because of the size and was misrepresented) with another Hyundai dealership (College Park the absolute best!!!) and found that Pohanka never cancelled the optional coverage as requested (this coverage can only be cancelled by the dealership) and Pohanka will not return calls or e-mails. We have paid close to $700 for insurance that we cancelled in April 2014 for a car we no longer have. Pohanka crossed the line of unprofessionalism to downright disrespectful when my last attempt to reach the manager, Mr. Leeds, was transferred to many offices and placed on hold finally with someone finally hanging up on me when I began to talking. Read the yelp reviews before you purchase -- this is standard procedure for them -- I wish I had. RUN from this dealership!!!

After dealing with a different area dealership for the last two years and being told I can't have the vehicle I want. I felt taken advantage of. I went to Pohanka Hyundai of Capital Heights. There I met Mr. Raymond Walford who sat down with me and asked my exactly what I wanted and didn't past judgement on me. Instead he processed my past experiences and I walked out of the dealership with exactly what I asked for. Highly recommend this dealership from sales the entire staff. Saleman was professional, knowledgeable and best of all, did resort to pressure sales tactics. The finance department got me better rates than I could get from my credit uninion which is highly unusual. For one of the few times I can remember, I walked away with a very positive feeling and experience with my car purchase. I will come back to this dealer the next time I'm in the market for a car!!!

I had been looking for a new car because my Toyota failed me. I had been car shopping at different dealerships trying to get the best deal. I met a salesperson by the name of Danny Pena who I was really impressed with. This is my 4th time buying a new car and I can say that I have never had service like this. He was really attentive to my needs and didn't just try to sell me a car. He made sure that all of my questions and doubts were answered. After going back and forth on different cars, I was able to finally decide which one I wanted and he did a great job in closing the deal. Just purchased a used 2014 Honda Accord from Pohanka Hyundai that we found using USAA's car buying service. Our salesperson, Danny Pena, was very accommodating in finding a time we were able to make the trip to the dealership. Throughout our test drive and purchase, he was extremely friendly courteous and helpful in getting us the monthly payments to fit our budget. He was interested in making sure we were happy with our purchase, not just selling us a car. I walked into Pohanka wanting to buy a nice used car, with low miles for a very good price. When I arrived there was a tent sale, hotdogs, a DJ, and swarms of customers. Needless to say everyone was very busy but the atmosphere was very comfortable. There was no pressure just friendly sales persons, warm hospitality and complimentary lunch. Danny Pena welcomed us with a very warm smile and worked relentless to get me an excellent deal. Danny Pena with the Capitol Heights Pohanka helped make my first time car experience easy and painless. He went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable and to work with the facility to ensure that I could fine everything I was looking for in a vehicle. I highly recommend this dealer and Mr. Pena. My only star off was not related to the service while buying my vehicle. I had difficulty reaching the financial department and having them return calls. The staff is amazing in person though and they figure out how to get you what you need, even if you just happen to be stopping by.

I am writing you to let you know how I was treated in one of your Dealer Ships.I am a previous Hyundai owner and was looking for an SUV because I can know longer get into and out of my car comfortable because on Rhum. Arthritis . I went to Pohanka Hyundai located at 1770 Ritchie Station, Capitol Heights Md. With a per-approved 15000.00 check and a trade in 2002 Jaguar w 58000mils and also willing to give my last saving 2000.00 to get a vehicle. I dealt with Manager Don Glorius. He had me get up walk over to see him (mind you I walk with a cane) to let him know that I was serious in buying a SUV. Not only did I walk out with out a car I was embarrasse with this type of behavior. I have never been insulted by a dealer representation. I am 55yrs old veteran and would not have gone there if I didn't want to buy. Also If I had know this is how I would have been treated I would not have gone there nor will I return to this place even for services. Thank You for your attention.

I went to this place for service to my car two days in row. They told me both day, it will only take 2 hours. I went Saturday and Sunday and both day waited 3 hours and gave up and left home. I had to go to other regular mechanic to fix my car. I wasted my 6 hours on weekend for nothing. I ll never go to this place.

After spending 4 hours at Bowie Honda and getting the run around from the sales team there I left and went to Pohanka at Capitol Heights. I entered through the Hyundai section. The Sale Person, Raymond Walford approached me and asked if I needed help. It was a breath of fresh air to know that sale rep at Pohanka recognized customers whether they are there to make a purchase or just looking. I was interested in a Honda Civic and wanted the Honda department. He could have just pointed me in the direction of the Honda area, but he offered to walk me there and that I considered a good customer service. I did not make it over to the Honda section because we chatted about Hyundai vs Honda and he offered me the option to test drive both the Honda civic and the Hyundai Elantra. I took a past on the test drive on the civic because I was familiar with it, but took the offer to test drive the Hyundai. After couple minutes driving the Hyundai, I was satisfied and went back to the showroom. He asked how was the test drive and if I had any questions about the car. I love the drive and feel of the car, so I asked some more comparable questions about the Honda Civic vs the Elantra. Raymond was very knowledgeable of both cars and provided me all the information I needed to make a decision. One of the things that I admired about Raymond is he never gave any negative points about Honda or pursued me in any way. He is just a respectable sales person and wants a satisfied customer. I was ready to make a purchase, but did not want to go through another ordeal like I did at Bowie Honda. Raymond assured me that at Pohanka they do not treat customers like that. They keep their customers informed throughout the buying process and he demonstrated that to me. I got the Hyundai Elantra! My experience at Pohanka was the best! He walked me through the process keep me abreast on the status while I waited for all the approvals and notified me immediately when all the approvals was done. After he handed me the key to my car, he took me to the car and showed me the features of the car and even walk me through setting up some. I rated Pohanka a great car dealership and Raymond Walford an excellent sale person. I would recommend Pohanka Hyundai and please ask for Raymond. The best sale person one can ever ask for. He even followed up the next day with a customer call to make sure everything was alright.

After many years of loving my Lexus, I decided it was time for a new car. After researching cars online, I decided to check out the Equus and loved the bells and whistles of the car, along with the look. It was July of last year when I test drove the car I wanted and I noticed some terrible thumping noise and some vibrations. The dealership said it was from flat spots in the tires and fixed it and it seemed just fine after that so I bought it. This turned out to be huge mistake.As soon as I drove it home I noticed more vibrations and the dealership claimed it was probably a balance issue this time. I brought it back in after a week and they supposedly fixed it by replacing a balancing weight. I went away on vacation for a little while, came back and the car was still not driving right. This is now October, I bring it in again and they changed the drive shaft, and two rear axles. Car still vibrating. Now it's November. They tell me to bring it in later in the month when they would have new tires and a regional manager could speak with me.SO I wait and on Nov. 25 we test drove the car with the regional manager and service manager of the Alexandria Hyundai. We ALL agree the front end vibrations are still there. The local manager says changing the tires in his opinion would do nothing. The regional manager asks me to wait ANOTHER two weeks for some engineers to take a look at it and I told him I'd had enough. I told him the car was a lemon and I wanted a new one to replace the POS they sold me. They've declined and I've hired a lawyer. They refused to work with me on this and now we are going to court. Stay away from the Equus, and for that matter, stay away from Alexandria Pohanka in Maryland. Not worth the headache for the extreme price tag. Dreaming of having my old Lexus back!!!

I had a pleasant experience at the Pohanka Hyundai. Danny Pena was my sales guy and he sweated bullets for me. Danny found my car in 3 days after I gave him the final OK. Danny made sure that I could contact him with any questions that I may have had. He had awesome energy with this sale and was excited to sell his first AZERA on the account of me. He was happy he sold the car and i was happy with the sale. Granted the pricing for the AZERA is way more costly and I lost a lot of features that I had in my trade in, but all in all. I had a great experience with the service that I received from this dealer

I'm writing this review to share my wonderful car buying experience with other potential buyers.My visit to the Pohanka Hundai dealer on (21 Dec 13) was nothing short of amazing. As we walked into the dealership I noticed how clean, neat, and friendly the environment was. My family and I were greeted by a salesman that took interest in not only me but also my family by becoming acquainted with our names. Next he asked what sort of vehicle was of interest to me - I didn't have a preference so he proceeded to show us the cars on the showroom floor as well as the lot outside until I came up with what I thought was a good fit for me. He was able to answer every question with poise and confidence. Since this was my first major purchase without my spouse, I was sort of nervous. As he walked me through what appeared to be a seamless process, he reassured me by way of his actions that he was in control of the car buying negotiations on my behalf which put me at ease. He never once pressured me to produce what I wasn't comfortable with and I was able to drive away with a brand new car. The process was short and sweet. He took his time and patiently walked me through the many highlighted features and controls of my new car. I will recommend this dealership, particularly Mr. Raymond Walford to my family and friends. This is the only dealership from experience that I have given a (5) star rating which still cheapens their worth because they are an outstanding dealership that deserves (6) stars for AMAZING!!!

We were searching for a 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe GLS but were interested in a color that no dealership in the DC metro region seemed to carry. After some searching, we saw that Pohanka was the only dealer in the area that had a Santa Fe in the color we wanted. As VA residents, we hadnt purchased a vehicle out of state in over 14 years, but decided to give Pohanka a try. Our salesperson was Danny Pena (assisted by his floor partner Riddick), who was responsive, courteous and knowledgeable from the start. He explained features of the vehicle and gthe buying process, and after a brief negotiation and financing application, secured the vehicle at a better price than we were given by another dealership for one wit fewer features. The process was smooth and the entire Pohanka staff, from the finance team, to the sales managers and service department (to whom we were introduced during a brief tour) were all professional, courteous and knowledgeable as well. I would absolutely do business with Pohanka Hyundai again and enthusiastically recommend the dealership to anyone looking for a high level of customer service and a great deal on their vehicle of choice.

The was an overall excellent experience for me. After doing my research, I knew what type of car I wanted and how much I wanted to spend on it. At Pohanka Hyundai, I found more that what I was looking for in a car, and was able to get a better price than I was expecting. Raymond was very patient with me and Joanne in financing was very helpful. I would recommend this dealership to any one.

I recently purchased my vehicle from the King of the Beltway and they as a team made my buying experience worth it. After being belittled and almost taken advantage of by another dealership not worth being named (College Park) Pohanka Hyundai took care of me and made true I was comfortable throughout the entire process. I just bought a 2013 Hyundai Sonata Limited from Danny Pena and I have to say that the experience was great. He went above and beyond the call of duty. I test drove the car and he explained all of the features with great detail. He kept me updated at every step of the process and provided explanations. Once the process was over he actually set up my Bluetooth feature and gave me a step by step tutorial on how to use the navigation, phone and radio! This is my 6th new vehicle purchase and he was by far the BEST salesperson I have worked with! Keep up the great work Danny!

Everyone was very friendly. Raymond walked up to us polite as can be. I wanted to test drive two different vehicles (one Hyundai and one Honda). Raymond had no problem with that and walked me next door to Honda and set me up with a Salesperson. He never once knocked a Honda. After test driving a Honda I went right back to Raymond and he helped find the exact car I was looking for. He then sealed the deal and a couple hours later I was out the door with my new car. The day after Raymond called to make sure everything was alright with my new purchase. I even had to return to Hyundai a few days later and Raymond came right over and chatted.

Even though I didn't end up with a car that day, I just wanted to comment on the excellent customer service I received from Don Wiseman. While showing me around, Mr. Wiseman was very patient and knowledgeable of the car inventory. If you are someone who is looking for a first car, he would be the one to help.

Purchased a new 2011 Elantra from them a few years back when they we're in Marlow Heights Maryland on saint barnabas road. Long story short, I left the dealership after 6 hours not even 100% satisfied. Fast forward 2013 and I am looking for a SUV. I was greeted by Andrew Kelly who was genuinely up beat. I told him who my previous sales person (not going to mention) was no longer with the company and I shouted "GOOD!" I told him about my last purchase experience with them and he mentioned the whole management team has been reconfigured. I was excited but kept my cool because I didn't want to seem like the anxious female customer willing to sign any paperwork handed to her. To my surprise they actually presented very attractive numbers up front! NO NEGOTIATION REQUIRED! Needless to say it was a painful process. Granted my information was in the system already but I still had a trade. The process only took a little under 2 hours. I want to thank Andrew Kelly, Daniel Leeds, Eric Woodward, and Bill Nash and the whole Pohanka Hyundai team for treating every customer like they are your last! Proud 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe customer!

My car buying experience at Pohanka Hyundai was fun and quick. I had an idea of what I wanted and LaShawn my salesperson gave me all my option plus their pros and cons so I could make an informed decision. I decided to purchase a 2010 sonata and I was given a great price the first time. I think I was completely done with the process in 2 and a half hours which went by fast. Their facility is huge, clean and the sales team are very welcoming. I think almost everyone said hi when they walked passed and we were offered refreshments by a couple people. Definitely go to Pohanka they will keep you laughing and you will get a good deal. GREAT people

After having a terrible experience with another dealership, I contacted Danny Pena at Capitol Heights Pohanka Hyundai. I told him the exact vehicle I wanted and that I had a quote from that other dealership; he immediately sent me photos of the vehicle (in stock) and promised to match the quote. I drove from Virginia, they had the vehicle, matched the quote, made arrangements for my rental car to be picked up and I drove home that day in my new car! I came in with my kids for a new car and met Danny Pena. He showed us around offered my kids cookies, coffee, or hot chocolate. He was very patient and I was worried because I don't speak very good english. Luckily he spoke spanish. He showed me options and I walked away in my new Red Hyundai Accent. He called me to see how things are going and I said very well. He asked me if I could write him a review, so I had my daughter help me out, because he is a very good person and I was surprised that I didn't feel pressured to buy a car. We visited this dealer because we wanted to see a specific car that we were wanting to purchase at another dealer that we really liked. We were up front and honest about this with every person we encountered but they insisted on trying to beat or match the deal that we received. They were aggressive and pushy and I didn't feel comfortable at all there. They kept mentioning that they had a brand new facility but never actually told me what "deal" they were planning on giving me so I suspect it was all talk. They refused to give me anything in writing and I didn't trust them at all. I will never be going back there again. They should be very careful because Ourisman Hyundai of Bowie is very close and the buying experience is totally different. Everyone is up front and honest and they aren't afraid to back up their words with paper. I highly recommend them.

Just recently purchased a used vehicle from this dealer with the two year pohanka warranty. Seemed like an awesome deal I've been researching for awhile. Upon purchasing the vehicle all the sales people including the sales manager couldn't find the vehicle should have been a sign there but I continued to go further. Eventually they found the vehicle and came up with excuses why the couldn't find it seemed fair. After being at the dealerships for 7 hours I finally purchased the car. I didn't not take the vehicle home that evening being it has a scratch on the bumper and they were gonna fix it and they would deliver the car to me in two days they have me a loaner vehicle being I had no other way for transpiration. After the end of day two I called to speak with my sales person of coarse he was not there and no voicemail available I tried his cell phone number of coarse out of service. Afer attempting numerous time and auguring with the receptionist who seemed like she hater her job and never liked it I got thru to a sales manager I think but he acted like he never heard of the vehicle I just purchased and told me it was my fault and to wait for my sales person to call. After a week without my vehicle and minimal contact with the dealership I have my car. All in all I will not return to the capital heights dealership I can't believe how they would treat a customer who just purchased a vehicle and one that has bought from Pohanka honda before. I will never go back there and I will be writing reviews on all the review sight I can so no one will have to go thru what I went thru.

I looked to buy my vehicle through both Costco's car buying service as well as USAA's car buying service. Pohanka was one of the dealerships that came up. Delphine of Pohanka was the only salesperson to call me, rather than sending me an email response. Delphine was very helpful and together with the sales manager was able to beat USAA's target price by hundreds of dollars. She exerted no pressure on us to purchase anything we did not want, she even offered us her discount for extras if we wanted, which we did not end up purchasing.Financing was a breeze. Delphine took care of everything. We just sat there as she walked papers around the dealership. She arranged for our trade-in without the vehicle even being present, just form our description and a couple of pictures and they kept their word on the valuation even when we brought it in the day after the sale.The only time we had to get up was to see the vehicle and go to the business office to sign the paperwork. By the time we were finished with the paperwork, Delphine had our car ready and waiting for us. She then patiently explained all the features and hooked up my phone to the Bluetooth. We were at the dealership just 2.5 hours and then drove home in our new Elantra.We thank USAA, Delphine Wilks and Pohanka for a great car buying experience.

I did buy a car there but would never again.... Customer service is poor at best... Service dept took forever... Unprofessional. Got a trainee pawned on me who was more concerned with his Facebook page... No one wants to have time wasted especially when u come prepared.... Didn't even give me a full tank of gas... Called min... He apologized... Didn't even offer a gas card... Really!!! Poor service

Absolutely the most horrible experience I've ever had with a place that is supposed to be a professional business. I bought a 2005 Toyota 4Runner from Pohanka Hyundai in Capitol Heights, MD. I was assured the car had been checked out and given the thumbs up by their service dept. It only had 37k miles on it and came with two warranties from the dealership as well as the remaining Toyota warranty good til June 26, 2013. Within 10 miles of driving away from the dealership the check engine, vsc on and vsc trac lights came on. I immediately drove back to the dealership where they profusely apologized and took it to the service shop to hook up to the machine. They said the catalytic converter went which is strange but no problem because it's covered under the Toyota warranty. I live in MA so they said I could take it to any Toyota dealership in MA and get it replaced for free. I did that when I got home and while replacing the cat they discovered other issues which were not disclosed to me. I informed Pohanka of these issues and they promised me they were mailing me a check for $400 to put towards the repairs. I went ahead with the repairs which cost me $610 plus a rental car while they were done. I never received the check. After getting those repairs done I had my car back for about two days before all the lights came back on! There are now even more repairs needed and I've been calling and emailing Pohanka Hyundai every day since May 22 with absolutely no response whatsoever! They never sent the money they promised and will not even speak to me or email me back. I am absolutely furious! They knew they were selling me a broken car and completely lied to me and misrepresented themselves. Thinking of buying a car from this place? RUN THE OTHER WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was looking for a new vehicle because I needed more room. I checked a few Hyundai dealerships and Min was about one of the less interested person to put any effort for me to buy a car from them. He told me during the conversation that "I would never do that for a customer", "I do not think the car will come in that color" and other comments that kept making think that he was just not interested in me to buy a car from them. One of the best comments was "when you are ready I will give you the best price possible"! I already had a very good quote from College Park (were I ended up buying my NEW car!!!!) The exterior and interior colors I wanted the accessories I wanted!!! everything he said that it might not come!!!

I started out at this dealership with another sales person that kept me waiting for almost an hour in order to test drive 1 vehicle. I wasn't sure whether I wanted an SUV or a car and wanted to test drive both. This sales person didn't want to make the time to work with me and gave me erroneous information when talking about the vehicles.Mr. Seales offered to take over and walked me through the pro's and con's of SUV ownership vs car ownership. I test drove 2 SUV's the Tucson and the Sante Fe. I loved the Santa Fe, but thought it was just a little too big for my driving purposes. Mr. Seales was very patient. He was very knowlegeable about all vehicles that I wanted to test drive. He spent 4 hours with me answering all my questions. My last car was a Honda. It was 16 yrs old. I loved that Honda so this was my first time having to purchase a car all on my own. The experience overall was very comforting, I wasn't rushed and appreciated his patience. When I made the final decision, I called him up and he came by to pick me up (I no longer had a car) and we finalized the paper work and took a quick review of how the car works. Once he turned me over to the finance department again everything went smoothly and I have a car note that doesn't break my budget. I am loving my 2013 Hyundai Sonata Limited. I only wished that I had the backup camera but you can't have everything. I would definitely recommend Pohanka Hyundai to others. This actually is the 2nd car I have purchased from Pohanka. I once purchased from Pohanka Oldsmobile. I look forward to the relationship I will build with service for the up keep of my car. My first appt is scheduled for Wed, October 10, 2012 and I am sure they will resolve whatever issues I have.

Did the classic "Bait and "Switch" quoting me a price on the phone which was confirmed by email by the sales rep, Raquel Eaton. That email detailed all options and the make, model and year. Knowing how many dealers do the bait and switch, I contacted the general sales manager (Kip Douglas) via email to confirm the pricing prior to traveling to the dealership. He would not honor the price confirmed by his sales rep and proceeded to tell me there is no way anyone would sell the vehicle for the price his sales rep had just confirmed with me. He failed to acknowledge the commitment his sales rep made and his actions suggests that the sales reps have not accountability for how they represent the dealership and can not be trusted to do so, despite being told that the price agreed to had been approved by management. They also did the bait and switch on model year, saying their pricing was based on a 2012 rather than 2013 model, when 2013 was cited in all of our written correspondence. Kip Doughlas then quoted me a price that was close to $2,000 more than what his sales rep quoted me. The Stay clear from Pohanka Hynudai.

I hate buying cars...I'd really rather have a root canal than go to a car dealership. However after buying from Pohanka, I no longer feel that way :) I found a used Santa Fe I liked online however had no way to go look at the car as our only vehicle was in the shop. Diego, our salesperson, was awesome! He followed up with me via email and phone. He came out to our house (30+ miles away) and picked us up in the vehicle to take us to the dealership. He was warm, personable, knowledgeable, and efficient. We were never turned over to another manager or supervisor - we only dealt with Diego and Finance.We had had a foreclosure on our credit and weren't sure how easy it would be to finance a car - Pohanka made it a breeze. Michael, in Finance, was great - there were no hard sell tactics, just efficient, knowledgeable, caring service. If I had known buying a car could be this easy, I would have done so much sooner - I would definitely buy from them again!

This dealership was the worst I have ever experienced. We were promised to be able to look at the exact car we wanted, but neither were there. We drove almost 3 hrs. to get there and spent another 8 hrs at the dealership. It seemed like nobody knew what they were doing or what was going on. The car was not prepped thoroughly and there were parts missing.

I applied through truecar.com and was given a list of several dealers when I inquired about a 2013 hyundai genesis. I was contacted by Min and persued for several days till I called back and explained my situation. I was looking to trade (I am a current hyundai owner) out of my currect car and into a New Hyundai Genesis. I gave him a price I was ready to pay and recevied an email he would be working on this with me. Communication at first was good, then when I requested to be given the sales figure, percentage rate, details of the purchase was told he would get the information from his manager and have it to me the next day. 24 hours later, no information. I emailed Min telling him I would be looking else where due to the fact I was not given the information but asked to put down 4k down payment and I could do half now and half later after signing even though I did not know any of the information. I recevied an email stating that I should just "google" the averages and that would give me my information. In my opinion any sales person who does not want to honor their word, or give you facts is a dead give away to stay away from the dealership. I still have not heard from the sales person or been given any information on the 2012 purchase. Very shady deal with this dealer at your own risk.

When I pulled up to this dealership I could practically see the drool coming down the side of the salesman's chin. He was sure that he would be able to sell me a car that day. I explained I was "just looking". He was very nice throughout the shopping process when I was ready to leave we exchanged numbers so that we could keep updated on my decision to buy. The salesman kept in touch with me and answered my questions. I was VERY displeased however when I informed him that I decided not to buy. He was VERY rude with me following that conversation. I will NEVER give my hard earned money to this dealership.

Our sales-rep, Mr. Bill Edwards and all the sales-reps at Pohanka Hyundai were very personable, curtious and gracious. Mr. Edwards was very knowledgeable with the features of the EQUUS and answered all questions pertaining to the vehicle. The financial process was very timely and the finance-rep went step by step during the process, so that we understood everything presented to us. We really enjoy our car and the purchasing experience.

I wanted to purchase a Hyundai Genesis online. Using TrueCar.com, Pohanka Hyundai of Marlow Heights had the lowest price. I posted my interest on a Sunday afternoon. On Monday morning, Min Park called me. He was very cordial, told me they didn't have the exact car I wanted on their lot, but he said he would look for it and get back to me. He called back later that afternoon and said he found the exact car I wanted at a dealership about 100 miles away. He said if I committed to the purchase, he would go get it the next day. I asked him for the name of the dealer where it was and was able to see it online under that dealers web inventory listing. I told him my wife was away, coming back on Wednesday, and I would love to have it in my garage when she got home. He offered to come pick me up on his way back from picking the car up, another 100 miles out of his way. All told, he would have committed the better part of that Tuesday just to me, but I declined. At the dealership, the paperwork processing experience was friendly, fast, and stress free. Min took me through all the car's features, introduced me to the service manager and facility, then I spent maybe 15 minutes with finance to complete the paperwork, and then met the dealership general manager, who led a brief "Thank You" celebration in my honor. This was the best car buying experience I've ever had.

The salesperson was very friendly and helpful. The exact car I wanted was there when I arrived. My only complaint is that the entire process from the time I got there to when I drove the car off the lot took more than 4 1/2 hours. Way longer than I anticipated. It seemed that all I was doing was waiting. It shouldn't have taken more than 2 to 2 1/2 hours. The showroom was not crowded at all. There may have been only 1 or 2 other customers there while I was there. I had to drive home to Silver Spring at the height of rush hour.

I replied to them pretty late at night, and Bill Edwards wrote back right away, despite the late hour! We discussed a few things by email, and then we talked a bit more the next morning by phone. I will always purchase my car from Pohanka Hyundai, but I refuse to deal with Victor in accounting again. I asked him for a copy of my prior Lojack contract because my previous car was stolen and I needed the information in order to get my money and hehad to call Lojack and ask them for the same information that I had just asked him for. All he had to do was just give me a copy. He even had the person from Lojack called me later that day. By that time, I had already send the paper work off and was told when I would receive my check. All of this was not necessary.

I went to two different Hyundai dealerships before Pohanka. The other dealerships did not has large a selection of the type of vehicle I was looking for. Also, their sale staff was not as friendly or knowledgeable as Pohanka. My sales person, Mr. Edwards, asked what I was looking for and then found me a selection of vehicles on the lot that fit my requirements. Not like other sale people who you tell that your looking for "A" and they bring you "B." I would and I have recommend this dealership and Mr. Edwards personally to friends and co-workers.

Bill and the rest of the employees at Pohanka made my husband and me feel as if we were part of the family. We knew exactly what we wanted and how much we were willing to spend when we walked into the dealership. Bill did not pressure us at all, which we appreciated, and he answered all of our questions. Before Bill let me drive out of the dealership, he made sure that I knew where all of the car's essentials were located and how to use them (such as lights, wipers, radio, etc.), and helped me to sync my phone to the car's bluetooth. We walked around the car looking for anything that needed to be fixed and we set up an appointment to have a couple of dings repaired. In addition, he showed us where the service department was located and explained the procedures for when we bring the car in for servicing. Before I drove away, the entire Pohanka staff, led by Kip Douglass, welcomed us into the family by singing to us, which was unexpected but fun! Then, each person shook our hands and gave us a personal welcome. All in all, it was a pleasant experience. I'd highly recommend Pohanka.

I am a previous Mercedes Benz owner and when I test drove the Genesis, I was hooked at the "pep" of this V-6. Raquel Eaton was wonderful!!! I never felt pressured or haggled. This was the most relaxed car buying experience I have ever had in my 40 years of purchasing cars.The dealership was low profile, no service person "swoped" on us as we were looking about. When we had questions we saw Raquel, who was assisting another customer and she came over to discuss with us what the features of the vehicle were.We discussed the vehicles and left for medical reasons. We came back as promised the next day to close the deal on a Genesis with full warranty and no fincancing last minutes add on's. We also got full pay off on our trade in. We had gone to a chrysler dealer and they would not pay off the trade. Pohanka did pay off the trade and put us in the Genesis at a lower monthly payment. This was my first time buying a new car, so I walked into Pohanka Hyundai being very cautious and was intimidated by the whole process. I had been to 3 other Hyundai dealerships in the area, and I received varying degrees of customer service at each (from not helpful/bad to good/ok). However, from the moment I walked in, the salespeople at Pohanka Hyundai treated me (and my guests) very well. While Terry had only worked at Hyundai for a couple days, he was very honest about what he did and did not know (and made sure to ask someone for the responses to questions he couldn't answer), and he had a great personality. I didn't feel like I was being aggresively "sold" on the car at all. At the end of the night, as I struggled to make the big decision on whether or not to buy my first car from Pohanka, I never felt pressured - in fact, Terry and Bill told me to sleep on it and come back if I was sure, which is what I did.I felt like I got a good price - without having to haggle, the price that was quoted to me was by far less than the prices that had been quoted to me from other dealerships.And last but not least, I definitely enjoyed the tradition that Pohanka Hyundai has of serenading their new customers. Thanks, Pohanka, for making my first car buying experience such a stress-free and enjoyable experience.

I recently purchased a 2005 Honda Odyssey LX here. The van seemed to be in very nice condition. I signed papers and took it home. It had a few problems. The CD player didn't work and the rear seat didn't latch. I called Mike and he said bring it in and they would loan me a car while they fixed it (I live 60 miles away). Mike called me the next day and said they had trouble finding a Honda replacement CD player. He asked if I would mind picking out a replacement radio from Crutchfield. That was fine. They ordered it and installed it. When I picked up the van everything Mike had said would be fixed was. Everything is fine with the van. I am very skeptical of car salesman. Mike was great! He did all he said he would and went above and beyond to make this a good experience. As I said, I live 60 miles away and I would have no problems buying a car from Mike again.

Eugene was great to deal with. I did not like the financing options. I was told that I wouldn't have to pay for 90 days if I chose to buy that day and that was not the case. I was also told that there was a $400 rebate for beings a recent college graduate and it wasn't until after papers were signed that I was informed that I had to finance through Hyundai to get the rebate and the financing was available but the interest rates were unreasonable. Joann was a great person to work with as well. She tried to get me the 90 deferred payment but it was out of her control.

Purchasing my new Hyundai Genesis at Pohanka Hyundai in Marlow Heights, Maryland was the best experience I have ever had buy a car, new or used. The folks at Pohanka Hyundai were superior in every sense. Although Pohanka Hyundai in Marlow Heights, Maryland is quite a distance from my home in Virginia, I plan on traveling there for my scheduled maintenance requirements. Arranging financing with Joann was a piece of cake and she saved me $2,500 in incentives I was not aware of. I will definitely recommend this dealership to anyone in the market for a Hyundai.

Jane was friendly, she understood what I need and she worked hard to get the deal for me. She was so professional and I highly recommend asking about her when you want to buy a car there. Hyundai car wasn't an option for me but after all what Jane explained, I bought a 2010 white sonata, it's really the best car that they had. Started off well. I was told that my car would be in around mid-August. August 11th comes and I call Ronnell (who by the way was an excellent sales person) and request that a manager call me so that I could get a better understanding of when my car would be in. All day, no call. I decided to visit the dealership. Waited 15 minutes to speak with a manager. I spoke with Kip, the other, whose name I don't know but was seated right next to him. I started to tell the manager about how I was unhappy and I didn't understand why I could not receive a firmer delivery date of my vehicle. While both managers listening, they were also adamant about telling me that I needed to be patient and that many of their customers wait an extended amount of time for their vehicles to come in (as long as 1.5 months!). I expressed that not knowing when my car was coming in made me uncomfortable. The manager said so if it's not here on that exact date, what are you going to do?! After a few rude comments and frustrating gestures, I left the dealership that day feeling defeated. When I left I was in my car speaking to my husband with the door open contemplating getting my $500 refunded when one of the managers I just spoke with said to me, "I see you are still out hear making noise." Overall, I felt that my business was not appreciated and that because they had other customers who, at the time, were satisfied, they were not obliged to satisfy me or address my anxiety about my purchase. The day a came in to get my refund, magically, the dealership's receipt of my purchase, which had been stapled to my paperwork, was not intact...hmmmmm. Luckily I had my copy. Ronnell and Joanne were nice. The managers- the opposite when confronted with an unsatisfied customer. Instead of being compassionate, tolerant and defusing a situation, they seem to antagonize it and challenge my option to WALK as a customer. If you want to be treated like your business is valued from START to FINISH, you may want to go somewhere else.

The staff at the Pohanka Hyundai dealership was very friendly and efficient. I came into the delaership with a simple inquiry and left with a new 2012 Hyundai Elantra! I was very statisfied with the service provided by Ronnell Seales and the other sales associates as well. The highlight of the visit, besides leaving with a new car, would have to be the staff singing to me once the sale was finalized. I have been raving about my experince at the dealership and my new car since my day of purchase!I would definitely reccommend Hyundai to friends and family and am happy to be apart of the Hyundai family!

Eugene was very patience, understood what I wanted and what I wanted to pay for it. He made follow up calls to me regarding the first car I inquired about. I went from the 5 door Accent in Mocha Bronze to the Elantra to the Sonata (Which I purchased). I think everytime he called me I had changed my mind about that car and had moved on to the next, he understood and found the last car I wanted, went got and and give me everything I wanted.I hope that the next Hyundai I purchase whether it 2 years or 5, Eugene is avaiable to work with me.

I was pleased with the service that I received from the Dealership. Mr. Harris was very easy to work with and very courteous. He was very patient with me and took the time to let me review at least 4 different cars before I made a decision on the one I wanted to purchase. He also gave me a very detailed overview of the features on the car that I chose so that I was very familiar with their use and how to operate them. Overall, Mr. Harris was a pleasure to work with and I appreciate that he took the time to ensure that I was comfortable with my choice before we discussed my purchasing options. He seemed genuinely concerned that I was a little nervous about buying another car, and that I was looking a car that was safe and reliable, yet also reasonable. He fully explained the details about the Hyundai's safety ratings and the features of the vehicle that made it a safe and reasonable choice. In short, everything was great, the experience was not uncomfortable as I envisioned and in fact pleasant and relaxing.

My membership at Costco brought me from Columbia to Pohanka Hyundai in Marlow Heights to buy my Elantra. My sales representative, Bill Edwards was very helpful, as was Joanne, the finance officer. The other employees were warm and friendly, and the overall atmosphere here was very pleasant. None of the predatory approach found at some other dealerships. I had checked around, and couldn't find a dealer in my area that had the silver color that I wanted.

No purchase from us! We drove 45 minutes to get to the dealership for an arranged appointment to test drive and get a quote on a 2011 Tucscon. The women we had an appointment with was not even there or they couldn't find her, though they didn't try hard.. they paged her once in 15 minutes. They basically ignored us when we tried to get someone to help us in the dealership. They left us waiting to talk to someone for 15 minutes then some guy came out and introduced himself as if we should know him. He meandered out into the 90 degree heat, waved at a scraggly line of Tucsons on the lot and then said he'd get keys and a plate for one. Ten minutes of standing in the sun and nothing. We go back in, and we get ignored for another 10 minutes. Finally, we gave up and drove away to Mazda to spend our $25k. If shopping for a new Hyundai is your thing, avoid this dealership.

Racquel was extremely helpful in scheduling time to view/test drive vehicles. She was very knowledgable about the car I was looking at purchasing. She understood what I was looking for and exactly what I wanted in my vehicle. She made every attempt to ensure that I got exactly what I wanted. This included having Navigation in my vehicle. Although the vehicle did not originally come with that, she ensured that it would be installed at a later day. Racquel was extremely friendly and has a very warm personality.Racquel informed me that the navigation system was in and ready to be installed on my vehicle and gave me the day I needed to drop the vehicle off. On the scheduled day I dropped the vehicle off. The day (at the end of the day ~ 5:30PM) I was supposed to pick my vehicle up, I arrived at the dealership to find my vehicle parked in the same exact spot where I had left it and no navigation installed. I walked into the dealership and was asked "How are you?" I stated that I was fine until I saw my vehicle with no navigation installed, what happened. At that point, I was provided information that the navigation system that was ordered was not the correct one for my vehicle and that the correct one had been ordered and that it should be in within a few weeks (early July). This I don't understand as this vehicle was new and all the specs should have been in the system when ordering the part. They stated they would contact me again when the part arrives and schedule the installation. I said all that to say, why could I have not been contacted by someone/anyone earlier in the day when it was realized? Regardless, I know I would have to pick up my vehicle anyway but it would have been proper customer service to inform me prior to my anticipated arrival. Customer service should be follow-up, communication and ensuring the customer is kept abreast of what is going on. This is the reason why I rated customer service as OK instead of Good or Great. I have been promised by the manager Skip that everything will be taken care of and that I will receive everything that was promised to me. All in all I am very satisfied with my purchase, I just wished that the customer service dealing with the navigation system installation could have been better handled. When my daughter and I arrived at Pohanka on Sunday we were greeted by Nate. He asked were we here to see someone in particular. We told him no and explained what brought us to Pohanka. He introduced himself and gathered some information about us. As to what we were looking for and colors. The both of us has never had a chance to meet a salesperson like Nate. He knew his facts, provided very detailed information about the Hyundai Sonata to include the interior, exterior, and under the hood. He didn't leave out anything. He was very friendly as was the rest of the Pohanka staff. We appreciated meeting an individual who enjoyed what he did and was very knowledgeable.

Of all the car purchases I've made in the last 28 years, this was by far the most comfortable, professional and enjoyable experiences I've had. Our salesman was extremely easy to work with, seemed to understand our limitations on cost, and never once pressured us to make a decision. The main reason we came to Pohanka past two other local dealers was his prep work with me to find our vehicle, keep the price reasonable and within our limits. I will be purchasing again from Pohanka this Fall solely because of the way we were treated this time around. Excellent dealership, friendly faces and a commitment to treating us right. Thank you very much. We love the car, we feel we received an extremely fair price, and we will be back.

The process of buying the car was pleasurable and seemless. The vehicle was ready when we arrived, we took a test drive, had a nice conversation with Mr. Brooks, met wit hthe finance manager, paid for the vehicle, and my wife and I thought the sendoff by the staff was first rate. While our distance from the dealership will prohibit us from having service there, as we are over 1 hour away, I will certainly recommend the dealership to anyone in the Baltimore area considering the purchase of a vehicle. The follow up call by Mr. Brooks also added a personal touch. I also appreciated the fact that I was not prssured to buy any other products, warranties, protection products, etc. I waited 6 weeks for this car, and it was worth the wait.

But everything went well, especially the financing part, and my salesman Nate Harris even delivered the car to my house.

I put in a request on the internet. Within five minutes of entry Racquel called, found the exact car I was looking for, was delightful, funny, pleasant, knowledgable. I was picked up and taken to the showroom, where Racquel had all the materials for me to review. After going through the purchase process, she then took me to the car, directly in front of the showroom, under the canopy ({it was raining) and proceeded to show me all the details of the car (many, many) I must say, while corny, I was delighted to be invited back into the showroom and thanked by all the employees with a round of applause. It left a warm positive impression. I appreciate the sincerity shown and hope to enjoy my Genesis for a long time.

She brought Customer Service to a whole new level! She was very efficient - making sure that my car was being detailed while I was filling out paperwork so I weas never waiting for a long time. She showed me all of the buttons and gadgets without making me feel "dumb". It is obvious that she enjoys her job and she is very good at it. I plan on going to Pohanka Hyundai for a long, long time. This time I rate them an A+++!

Mr Brooks did a very good job of showing the car and its many qualities and advantages. He also did not bug me and pressure me like some other dealers did. He did call and ask weather I was still interested and let me know when he would be available to be there if I had any other questions l

Pohanka Hyundai Salesman Steve Pristoop is an excellent salesman. My sales experience with Steve was superb. He was very organized, friendly and courteous. I have bought cars in the past from other dealerships, and I have never had a quick expeditious sale like I did when I purchased my car from Steve. Thank you for making it a pleasurable experience. From the time I stepped into the showroom I was treated as a person that was serious about purchasing a vehicle. The service was exceptional. I did not feel pressured or feel not cared about from the time I met Racquel, to meeting Eric and to Joann. Racquel went over the vehicle, insisted I take a test drive and gave me a tour of the facility after I made the purchase. She kept in contact with me a few days after the purchase. However, the thing that made the most impression on me was after I made the purchase, the whole team at Pohanka gathered around me to shake my hand to congratulate me on my purchase and welcoming me to the Pohanka family. That was special. I have already told others of my experience!!

My experience in purchasing my new vehicle wit Mr. Nathaniel Harris was awesome. Everyone at the dealership was very pleasant, including Charles from the service department told me how to keep the shine to my new Apple Red Elantra. Since purcashing my vehicle, I have recommended others who are talking or thinking about a new vehicle to try Honda Hyundai.

Great experience - Greeted by the sales staff and all questions were answered very well.Located the color and model on their lot - had it prepped and after the necessary paperwork I was driving my new Sonata Limited.This is my family's second purchase from Pohanka Hundai and we have been very satisfied with the product and service!

UPDATE 1/3/11: Unfortunately, our dealer experience has been marred by not having received our tags yet - they never arrived. Our salesperson, Nate, tried telling us to handle that with DMV ourselves, claiming tags are lost; title clerk, Tracy, has been attempting to help, but her lack of attention to details made things only worse. I had to involve Hyundai Motors and BBB.ORIGINAL REVIEW: We bought a new 2010 Hyundai Elantra SE. The overall experience was great. There was no hard sell of unnecessary add-ons (just a quick once-over), there was no push to buy today, the price offered was even lower than one negotiated over Internet. There was several minor scratches on the car, and those got taken care of immediately - we even had an option of getting another identical car instead. My only advice is, do not use Victor as the finance person. Otherwise, this purchase was painless and pleasant.

Knew I wanted to purchase a 2011 Hyundai Sonata Limited for my wife within a week. Used the Hyundai USA web site to get quotes on the car and options I wanted and to have the various dealers bid against each other. I was very up front about what I wanted, the bidding process and when I was going to buy. Told all that the one with the right car at the lowest price gets the sale. Pohanka gave me a price that was a few hundred under all the others (Washington area and 2 dealers from Baltimore). I told the salesman ( Wendell Rogers) That I would be in that next day to buy the car. After that, I was contacted by College Park Hyundai with a little better deal. Since I had already told Pohanka I would buy from them, I kept my word and went there. I was supposed to meet Mr. Rogers at 9am. I was early...he was late. After listening to Mr. Rogers talk about his sales expertise, and his desire to become a premiere salesman who can sell an upcoming high end model of Hyundai, I finally got down to purchasing. Suddenly the price was not what I had negotiated. I was told I gave him the wrong Sonata package. Funny, 8 other dealers who got the same e-mail had no problem. I told him there was no mistake and I expected him to be a man of his word. After numerous "consultations" with the sales manager...he said the best he could do was $350 over the agreed price. I walked out of the dealership and drove that day to College Park Hyundai and purchased a new Sonata for my wife and a used Elantra for my daughter. College Park was able to correct bad info I was given about the Sonata and warranty by Pohanka. Do yourself a favor...don't waste your time with the "Bait and Switch" from Pohanka.

I am not happy at all with my experience at this dealiership. Their tactics are shady at best. After doing extensive research I came to this dealership to look at two cars. After getting their final price. I told them I was happy but I was going to sleep on it one night. The sales manager yells "What the F*** are you doing here then?" I was so stunned at being cursed at I just left with my wife. I don't know about you, but I don't drop $40,000 everyday. Excuse me for taking a rational approach to car buying. The next day we purchased the same two cars from a dealership in Waldorf that did not feel the need to curse out their customes.There are plenty of Hyundai dealerships in NCR, there is no reason to come to this dealership. They have no respect, no class, and got no sale from me.

David and the entire staff was excellent. I've bought 3 cars from the various Pohanka stores over the years but this was my first new Hyundai.I definitely recommend them to anyone when it comes to being professionals, courteous, and honest. The price was good, they gave me the most for my trade, and I left quickly without much hassle. Pohanka is the way to go for anyone in the the DC area.

I had a great experience buying a 2011 Sonata at Pohanka. The salesman and other staff I dealt with were friendly, knowledgeable and straightforward, and the price was almost precisely what I had expected to pay. I have to comment especially on the fact that this dealer did not attempt in the least to add on any extras that I wouldn't want. I had been to another the day before, and it added $3,000 worth of useless stuff, including door edge strips, pin stripes (on a car with those lines?), etc., to every 2011 Sonata. I had only a single question about dealer add-ons at Pohanka, and that was from the finance manager, who asked before we did the signatures whether I wanted to buy anything else. I really appreciated the absence of this frequent source of car-buying friction. I can't emphasize this enough: There was no funny business at this dealership. I was in by 5:30 and out before 9 with a new car. A good experience overall.

First off, let me say that this has been the WORST, I repeat WORST car buying experience that I have ever had! This was my first new car purchase ever, and I have owned almost 10 vehicles, and have never had such shotty service or reliability in my life. What drew me to this dealership was that my mom bought a 2007 Accord (DEMO) in Sep. 07 from the affiliated Honda across the street from Hyundai. She got an excellent deal on her car, and to this day has had NO problems with her car, aside from general maintenance. So, naturally I put in a request to look at a 2009 Hyundai Sonata at the close of the 09 year, expecting to get an excellent deal. Pohanka was the first dealer that called m e in regards to the online request. The salesman, NH, told me to come on in to look at their inventory. I explained to him the situation that I was having with trading my 2006 Explorer for more cost efficiency. He assured me that if I gave them a try, I would have a memorable experience. Let me say that it has truly been MEMORABLE, and not for good reason. I work in DC and I live in Waldorf, so I told him that it takes a long time for me to travel, and that my time is money and valuable. Well, I arrived to their dealership around 7pm and was greeted by the salesman I spoke with on the phone. We go inside and start the process. Well to begin, much to my discomfort I was told that there were NO 2009 Sonata's in their inventory, mind you this is after I talked to him around 5 and was told there were plenty. WTF!! Stupidly I stayed and listened on to what he was talking about....BIG MISTAKE. He kept telling me (and Mom) of how imperative it was to trade out the gas-guzzling, value-depleting Explorer and into one of the Hyundai's. So, there was this incentive offered only to 2009 Hyundai's, minus the Genesis (figures right), and that the only 2009 he had on his lot was a DEMO 2009 Hyundai Azera Limited. This car had 6000 miles on it, mind you my moms demo 2 yrs earlier from Honda had 1200, so I was a little skeptical. But I figured what the hell?? Test drove the car and loved it. We worked the numbers and the Sales Manager, KD, was offering little to no room for negotiation, in spite of the high miles and tarnished Hyundai depreciation. In the past I always bought "nused" top-of-the-line vehicles, so I figured 6000 miles isnt that bad, plus I was getting the full 10 year/100k warranty, which would have changed to 5 year/60k had the car been deemed used. This in my opinion, given the situation now, IS. The purchase took place 12/30/2009 and the car was delivered to my house 12/31/2009. A new car, for the New Year! Or, so I thought. Not even a week later (3 days actually), the vehicle was brought back to the service shop to have an AIRBAG sensor reset. No biggie right? WRONG! They fixed it, (yeah rite) and again that Friday the car was rite back in the shop. Not to mention that the day of the first incident I was at the service shop all morning and they had the nerve to call me back to the dealership that evening to put more money down on the car, like WTF, I was just there!! Now bringing the total down payment to over 5k! So Friday, I was a little concerned with the swift return to the service dept., so I asked for a print out of the vehicle history, and sadly a new car had one! 1 page at first, but the printer had jammed, once fixed, 6 more come out!!! OMG! One record which is actually for the same problem that Im experiencing, which arose 4 months before I walked onto their lot! So, I didnt look rite away because I was already running late for work. So when I got to work I was looking thru the pages and come to find out the car has had 2 steering column replacements, a new tire, and no oil change with 6k miles! And come to find out, the person that was "DEMO-ing" the car was their loan officer, VS, who did all my paperwork and had me come back for more money, yet failed to mention any of the problems that he himself was well aware of. Are they kidding me! Then the Sales Manager has the nerve to tell me that the sales dept. doesn't liaise with the service dept on vehicle histories, and even told me that I should/could have asked for the history prior to purchase. Excuse ME!! Who in TF asks for a CARFAX on a NEW VEHICLE? Whether its a Demo or Not. Food for thought: MAYBE YOU SHOULD. At that point I was more than pissed. And the Friday date for the 2nd return was 01/11/2010. Please note that this review is being written on 01/28/2010, and the car has been in the shop ever since the 11th. They claim that the part it needs is in Korea and they don't even have an ETA for it to the US. Shall I mention that my car note is due in 2 weeks? Then they keep giving me loaner cars (number 3 now), that are nowhere near comparable to my purchase. The most recent loaner is a 2008 Azera that reeks of piss (I think), and wobbles, and has 47k on it. This is after they had given a 2010 base Azera, and I just so happened to call in and ask the status of my car and was given the "usual" we don't have an ETA yet. The Sales Manager then goes onto say don't worry you have ours and we have yours, and don't worry about the miles. Well, I just wanted to throw out there that the car has almost 4oo miiles on it and he says oh, ok. Not even an hour later I get a phone call from Pohanka saying that they have sold the 2010 Azera to somone and need it back. Are you serious? More than ironic rite? Meanwhile, the car that I own and will be paying for, sits in the shop until God knows when. I didnt even call them about the deficiencies of the 08 Azera b/c at this point I have realized that they are shady Money-hungry SOB's that could give a **** about their customers. Talking about we can't do anything b/c by law my car is considered un-drivable. Oh, really? But VS was driving it all over the planet, but now that I purchased it, its unsafe? Better believe that I have contacted Hyundai Motor Company and the owner of Pohanka (got his assistant) and made them aware of this unjust treatment, and if I need to go any higher then dammit I will! I cannot stress enough that you REALLY THINK IT THRU B4 YOU BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE PLEASE! This has been and continues to be a nightmare.
