I bought a 2013 certified Nissan Altima 2.5 sl at Pohanka. The car was nice and in good condition. Although the dealer promised the price was negotiable before, they refuse to negotiate the price when I bought the car. So I think it is a little more expensive than it should be.

I came in over Labor day weekend to look at a new Rogue. I had my 4 year old son with me which made the process challanging. Julius greeted us as soon as we hit the lot. He was friendly, professional, helpful, and most importantly he took the time to converse with my son and really get to know us and our needs. Julius was patient and listened to my concerns throughout the entire process. I could tell that it was more important to him for us to be happy with what we got than it was to "just sell the car," and that is a true sign of good character and a good salesman. When I asked a question that he was unsure of, he looked into the answer instead of dodging the question or giving me a bogus answer (which I experienced at several other dealerships that day). Overall, I am quite satisfied with the buying experience. If you're in the market for a new vehicle, go see Julius.

I had my car towed to Pohanka after several people told me that my axel was busted and that's why my car wouldn't move and would grind when put in gear. Eddie called me and told me that it was my transmission and it would cost $5k to replace everything in it. I called him a day later and told him that after speaking with my uncle that 5k was too expensive. He calls back and says that he fought with the service manager and they could do it for 4k final. Later that day I went in to see what the diagnostic report said and it was blank, paper just had the price for the test on it. When I asked why it was blank Eddie the service manager (I guess he fought with himself to knock off 1k)said that Nissan doesn't give you exact codes which is a lie. I called my uncle and he advised me of what questions to ask. When asked what exactly was wrong with my transmission Eddie said either your belt is shredded or some other bs, I asked did they drop my transmission and check it, he said no because there was no need to and it would cost $350 to do and he was saving me money. By this time he's getting frustrated because I keep firing off questions and he realizes this is not an easy sale because I am a female. After giving me the run around and no real answers, I had my car towed to a transmission place in Richmond and low and behold it was my axle, nothing wrong with my transmission and it only cost me $375.

Salesman asked me if I knew what I was looking for and what options I wanted. When I told him all of that he took me out and showed me what he had with the options I wanted. He pointed out one of them that he thought I would like (and no it wasn't the most expensive one). I told him ok and now lets see if I can afford it. We went back to his desk and he got on his computer and did his thing and after a few minutes he said he would be right back. He went to another desk for about two or three minutes. He came back with a paper and pointed to a number that would be my monthly payment. Instantly I told him "I WILL TAKE IT." It was like he knew me all my life and knew what I would like. For the record, I love this car. Tyler Coles is the salesperson and I would and have recommended him to a number of my friends.

My wife and I were looking for a new car. We went to multiple dealers in the Stafford/Fredericksburg area. We found a 2014 NISSAN Maxima online at Stafford NISSAN. When we went to purchase the Maxima we were given a higher price than listed online. We could not understand as we both have credit scores 800+ as well as cash on hand to purchase. When they would not honor the online listed price we left. Several days later while shopping in Fredericksburg we noticed that the old Pohanka Cadillac dealership was now a NISSAN dealer. We stopped in and talked with Paul Satterfield, showed him the Stafford NISSAN advertised price and he honored the price. He was very professional as were all the employees we met and my wife and I were extremely pleased. We purchased the 2014 Maxima and the twist of fate was that the car we purchased came from Stafford NISSAN! Thank you Paul.

great customer service, staff is wonderful, process was simple enough....Only one complaint, there was a good sized paint chip in the one of the doors on the used vehicle I was interested in. I told him we could make a deal if the paint chip could be fixed. we agreed and a deal was made. well my wife took the car back a few days later to get the paint chip fixed, she was promptly greeted, gave up the keys, and was even given a temp car to drive while the dealership was doing the work. well, when she went back to pick up our vehicle, the paint chip looked exactly the same. It looked like no work was done at all. when she addressed the issue, she was essentially brushed off and ignored. due to other commitments, she couldn't stay to discuss it further, and unfortunately i was out of town, but I will be going back this Friday to work this issue out. If they are able to REALLY fix this paint chip, then I have no major complaints. If not, then I will NEVER return to this dealership.

Thanks to Timmy Pohanka I love, love my car, I have traveled to Houston from Baton Rouge two times the gas mileage is wonderful. I filled up in Baton Rouge and when I made it to Houston 280 miles later I had only used a half a tank of gas. The ride is smooth, really smooth, I didn't realize I was going as fast as I was until I was stopped by the state trooper. But I still love my car. I will recommend everyone to him! Thanks Timmy!!

I'm a first time car buyer and am a VERY indecisive person. Dylan Six was very patient, helpful, easygoing, and even humorous when it came to me trying to decide what I wanted. Matt Himes, in Finance, was very helpful, nice, and sociable all while keeping me in my budget! If I had a dollar for every time that was told to me, I'd be rich! I went here to find out what was causing the rattling sound that was coming from the back of my car. They told me it was my resonator pipe and that it would be over $1000 to replace it. Luckily, I took it somewhere else for a second opinion and it turned out that a bolt had come loose on my exhaust shield and that all it needed was to be reattached. Something that was very simple and very cheap to fix. Seems that had I gone through Pohanka Nissan I would have paid a bunch of money to not even have fixed the problem.

I bought a 2006 Nissan Ultima from this dealership 5 months ago. Now the steering columb is requiring repair and will not even pass VA state inspection. I have owned many vehicles over many years and NEVER had an issue with a steering columb, including an 86 Pontiac Fiero I did have to rebuild BUT NOT THE STEERING COLUMB After doing some research I find this is a common problem with Nissan. Not only was I told it was my fault and my responsibility by the very dealer that I bought this from, it was approximattely 2000.00 when I can find the U joint for 300. really??? What kind of scam are you running. Sell faulty cars that you already know will require major repair. If seeking only those that care for money. Go to Pohanks Nissan. If looking for customer service, loyalty, responsiveness, and ethical behavior run to another dealer

I received an email stating that I would receive $1,000 more than KBB value if I sold my used car to the dealership. So, I spent 4 hours in Spring Break traffic in my car with no A/C to get there to have my vehicle appraised. Maybe 10 minutes later, which means that the appraisal was rushed or cursory at best, I was given an offer $500 LESS than CarMax's. I was glad that I had gone to CarMax first for a reference point. KBB listed my vehicle at $2,234 for FAIR condition, which my car easily met. So, I was led to believe by Pohanka Nissan's very badly worded e-mail to me that I would be paid $3,234 for my car, which is much higher than CarMax's offer. So, when they presented me with their $1,500 offer, I immediately said, "I can do better," stood up, and walked out.I was hot from being in my roasting car for 4 hours, tired from the inordinately long drive, and I am 7 months pregnant. So, I was understandably of low patience and very angry about the deception. As it turns out, the dealership was actually looking for trade-ins and would only "sweeten the deal" if I was buying one of their new or used cars. However, as I had clearly stated to them in my initial e-mail responding to the ad was that I had purchased a used Volvo just 2 days before. One of the first things Michael Williams told me was, "I think you made a huge mistake in buying a Volvo. You're going to be hit with major maintenance and repair costs and you will regret your decision," or something very close to that in effect. I was livid! I bought the used car which best met my needs as a first-time-mother looking for a safe vehicle in which to transport my precious child and her necessary gear. He effectively called me stupid, insulted my choice, and made me very angry all while being slightly xxxxxx. Unacceptable!For these reasons and more, Pohanka and all of its lots, dealerships, etc. have PERMANENTLY lost my business. In the words of Fex from That 70's Show, "I say good day, sir. I say GOOD DAY!" Never again!

I have had several car buying experiences and by far this has been the best car buying experience ever. Saturday morning we arrived around 9am and despite all the cold weather and rain Tim took time to show us the all the cars we wanted to see, take us for a test drive, helped us purchase our selection before noon. Tim was a true professional all the way. There was no pressure to buy, no haggeling over the price and the whole experience was so fast. I will recommend Tim and this dealership to all my friends.

I had an older car that had over 200,000 miles on it. It was time to start looking around for something reasonable that possible had some warranty on it. I went to a dealer in Fredericksburg and found a car I was interested in and there was too much wheeling and dealing going on, wanting too much money down and a high interest rate, I decided against it. Needless to say their attitude changed against me. So on Friday night the 6th of December I was searching used cars on Pohanka's website and came across a 2010 Mercury Mariner. It looked really nice from the pictures and had low miles and was a certified vehicle. I decided that I would go the next day and take a look at it. Pat Elsey was the dealer that worked with me that day and did everything he could to ensure we were comfortable and taken care in a timely manner. He was very helpful and kind. Took the time to go over everything with me, set up my blue tooth for me and went over all the vehicles features. The used car manager Greg was working really hard to get my finances in order, a few hours later I was driving home in my new vehicle. I love it! and would recommend this dealer to anyone looking to purchase a new or used car.

Made a deal with this dealer, Pohanka Nissan of Fredericksburg, for a 2013 Nissan Leaf SL over Pohanka web site's chat for $25,614, the sales person said to call me back to see if the deal is approved by his sales manager, Mr. Tim Dunlat, three hours passed, the sales person called me back and told me that his manager approved the deal and asked me to come in at 6PM. I came in and met Mr. Dunlat, He seemed to know nothing or pretend to know nothing about the deal that I made in the morning. He then looked up the chat log and probably the phone conversion that I had with his sales person in the morning, then Mr. Dunlat told me: "can I see the paper" on my hand (this paper has my personal infos on it) and replied "no". Then he assigned me to another sales person, George. George seems to be a nice guy and started to show me the Leaf SV. I told him this is a wrong trim, then he went to get the SL trim. When George came back. We both sat down and talked. Then Mr. Dunlat came to our desk and asked me again to see the paper on my hand. I just said: "no". Then he told me he could not sell the car to me at that price. I wonder why he approved the deal this morning and why told me to come in at 6PM. I absolutely understand that an oral deal is not an official one, but why approve it and told me to come in and wasted time. Just wanted to let you all honest consumers out there to know and whatever the conclusion you can draw from this incident. Watch out for gimicks.

I've purchased several cars over the years and had some good experiences and bad experiences at dealerships. Now that I'm a more seasoned and experienced buyer thanks to modern technology which allows me to know the right questions to ask and have the majority of my answers before I hit the showroom floor. My daughter came in to purchase a new Altima which she has always wanted but not being as experienced as her "Pops" she asked me to come along with her so she wouldn't get the bam-boozle and hide your trade-in keys run-around that some get. Well she didn't get that here at Pohanka Nissan. The dealership was upfront and honest with her about her credit situation and she was still able to walk out the door with her first new car, more for her trade-in, got a rebate and had the team come outside to congratulate her. I was proud of her and I will more than likely purchase a vehicle here in the future.

The sales people were very nice. I bought a 2010 Nissan Rogue with 36,000 miles on it. They did the paperwork to fix all the scratches on it, but it has almost been a year and no one has called me to get that done. I bought it in May 4, 2012 and the inspection sticker on it was for January. When I went in January to get it inspected, it passed but the garage said I would need new tires in around 5 thousand miles. This car was used car certified, so why am I having to buy new tires after only six months. I was told used car certified meant it passed all these specifications to make it a better used car sale, so the price could not be dropped anymore. I like the vehicle, but only gave a ok rating because they never kept their promises and fixed all the scratches on my Nissan as well as selling me a used car certified vehicle with tires that should have been changed before they sold it to me.

I came to Nissan To Find a New car that would better suit my needs. 1. Something that would be "GREAT" on gas {Most important). 2. Needed a warranty and wouldn't break down on me leaving me stranded with my children. 3. Had to be a comfortable ride and I couldn't feel like a sardine riding in it. 4. I have to be able to handle the payment. I walked in and the first person to meet me was Donnie Youmans. I stressed my needs and concerns with him and he said " I'm going to get this right for you on the first try. Are you ready?" He had suggested the Nissan Versa. Me I was confused. I get the mileage is great.. I get it. It was not to expensive, so check for the price range . It would have the warranty and I didn't see it leaving stranded anywhere. But ,What about the, I don't want to feel like a sardine part? I looked at him and was like, "Do you remember what I was driving when I came in?" He laughed and said "I know what you are thinking...lets just go drive it." I said fine. Still laughing at me he said I'm 100% confident this will be your car. He handed me the keys I got in and my first thought was oh...this isn't to small of a feeling. He said, Don't worry just have faith in me. Lets drive. I drove the car. It felt nice... I liked it! He gave me the run down. Now Im a proud owner of "THAT" Nissan Versa. Then he thanked me for having faith in him. No.. Thank you Donnie Youmans. You were right on target . I didn't have to waste a bunch of time trying to find the "Right" car. You did it on the first try. And to be honest, I wouldn't have never thought of testing out the Versa. Glad I did.

My son bought his first car from Pohanka Nissan in Fredericksburg. Hank Weber and Don Garrett did a great job of staying with him through the whole process of finding the perfect car at the perfect price. He ended up with a Nissan Versa and he loves it. Right on time with the payments, too. This may have been because Matt Himes helped him with the finacing choice by going through Nissan Co. All in all, a great experience thanks to these gentlemen.

Be firm and engage the dealer on this value. Fredricksburg is part of the Washington D.C. commuting area and MPG and value factor into dealer resale. Know your Kelly Blue Book (and price your car on AutoTrader!).Matt with Financing knows how to extract value for his employer. Go to the financing table knowing your financing options outright. I opt'd with NMAC financing, but I came to the table knowing exactly what USAA (typically my preferred financing organization) offered me. Matt was able to match and beat USAA, after some colorful discussion of options.

I was even given an umbrella from an employee because mine was broken. The sales deptment (Corey Applin) was terrific which is why I purchased my brand new Nissan Titan from them. But since purchasing the vehicle I have had nothing but problems with it and the service department. There have been numerous issues with the Titan and they have been unwilling to resolve most of them including two that were caused by them. The service dept is a joke with the exception of the service writers. My family has purchased many vehicles from them (14) and they won't be getting anymore of our buisness.

First i have to say that this young lady made finding my car at Pohanka Honda stress free.I contacted her by phone after checking some cars on the web .She explained she was new at this but would try to answer my questions .We met at the dealer the next day. I have always gone to Fairfax Virgina for purchasing and servicing my vehicles because of their good customer service. I own a 2007 Nissan 350Z convertible. I was having problems with my top and my low tire indicator light. I have never been to Pohanka before, but I decided to go because it was convient. As a leader in my profession, exceptional quality service is imperiative to the success of a business. I would like to give you constructive feedback regarding their service department:-I could not tell which desk to go to. There was at least 3 or 4 small desk with very busy associates attending to calls..etc. I stood there looking around to find where I should check in. No one acknowledged me until I approached Susan's desk.-My recommendation is for a reception desk with a greeter who will focus on recognizing the customer and escort the customer to the service associate.-Susan was very friendly, and had effectively communicated the plan of service for my vehicle. She directed me to the customer lounge and stated there was sodas and coffee for me while I'm waiting.-I was very impressed with the customer lounge! I expected to have to purchase a soda out of a machine, but I was delighted to see a refrigerator stock with drinks. The lounge was clean with comfortable seating. This attention to the small details like this makes a huge difference!!-While I was waiting in the lounge, I recieved a call that my father had been taken to our local Emergency Department for treatment. I told Susan my situation. She was very compassionate and helped to expedite my vehicle servicing. -Once my vehicle was finished, the gentleman who worked on my vehicle (unfortunately I can't remember his name)escorted me to my car. He provided me with accurate and direct communication regarding my vehicle servicing in a very professional manner. I definately felt he went above and beyond to ensure my vehicle was working properly!!It is evident that Pohanka is striving and targeting on opportunities for achieving greatest business results!! My husband and I needed a second vehicle. With two kids in college and the economy, we did not know if we would be able to afford a brand new car. Pohanka has been very accomadating as for service, customer service, and seeing that I have transportation while vehicle is being worked on for me. When I can't afford the service package deals for servicing my car they work with me by breaking it down so I can afford the service being done at the time. Then I bring my car back for the remaining service, etc. It's really been very accomadating for my situation. They don't do any unnecessary service like most dealers have done to me in the past. I feel very confident that the work that is being done is good. No problems there. Susan has been so good to me with my vehicle that's what brings me back. Under normal circumstances I wouldn't feel at all confident in a dealership working on my car, but this dealership has been great from all aspects. I even bought my truck from them. They were great. I got a great deal and everyone was friendly. Brenda was perfect, balancing being helpful with understanding our need to think it out and come to a decision. Matt really came through for us and guided us through the copious amounts of paperwork. Nashaye handed us to Brenda when she knew she couldn't help us right away, which really tells a lot about the spirit of helping the customer first! Billy was not involved with the sale, but helped out in many of the little things (including entertaining my daughters and getting them balloons) that added to the experience. Jesssica helped us find the perfect protections and upgrades. GREAT TEAM!

I went to this dealership to compare the Altima against the Mazda 6 and Toyota Camry. Fortunately I met with Frank MacKove as the available salesman. During the 5 day process (took me this long to be sure on the deal), he was consistent, patient, courteous, professional and really held our interests in mind (despite not so discrete pressure from his manager). During the initial negotiations, when Frank did the ever-present car sales good-cop/bad-cop drama of 'consulting the manager,' I could easily hear (probably intentionally) the whining and arguing. I just didn't expect the paper-crumpling and F-bombs (not very professional). At the end of the day though, with Frank's help, I got the model I wanted at the price I hoped for. The lower score (4 vs 5) on the Quality of Work speaks to the car prep. Although I thought I was reading all the forms we signed, I do not remember signing the Delivery Checklist (but the signature is there). Several items on that list are checked off that either did not apply to the car or were not covered during the turnover (which of course makes me wonder about the other dealer inspections performed). It specifically says in two places that the car was full of gas, but there was less than half a tank. Not a big deal in the big scheme, just sort of bush league. Could be indicative of attention to detail. The Service Shop introduction and discussion of extras (paint protection, theft protection, etc) was courteous, professional and low pressure. One the other hand, the registration and extended warranty coverage options discussion was more painful. We received several not-so-veiled insults to 'our intelligence' in declining the packages. Bottom line - we're happy with the purchase and the important parts of the procees went very well! Thanks Frank!

I didn't visit the dealer with the intentions of buying a new vehicle, as I was completely happy with my current truck. However, Laura and Paul made me feel comfortable and were able to exceed most of my requests (price, options, etc..) They made the process easy and painless! I like the positive attitude, the intial price, However I did not like the extra packages and charges. I feel that this process was not explained up front and some of thses charges seemed to be a ploy to get extra dollars from buyers. Pressure sale for some of these additions.

We have lived in the Northern Virginia area for 11 years and we've purchased a few cars in this time period. Pohanka is the only dealership that we've gone back to purchase as second car. My daughter who had never purchased a new car was in the market for one. She has champagne taste on a beer budget so I did some of the initial leg work. I called around and went to a few dealerships hoping to narrow the scope of her. She really wanted a Nissan Maxima, thought the Altima was scheme but would settle for the Sentra. I made a cold contact call to the dealership and was lucky enough to speak with John Stoner. I told him what I was looking for and what we've already seen. We agreed to meet on a Saturday to test drive the Sentra. From the moment we walked in the door John and the other car consultants treated my daughter like she was the only customer they had. Between John and the sales manager they were able to get my daughter into a 2010 Altima. It took awhile to work through the color she wanted but John was patient and worked with her until she was satisfied.I have purchased my share of vehicles, motorcycles and boats over the years and I will say from the first phone call to this day John Stoner and the sales staff at Pohanka Nissan are top shelve! Thanx for making my daughter's first car buying experience a pleasant one!! Kevin

I have purchased 5 vehicles in the past 10 years. I have also sold cars years ago.I have never met a more professional and informative sales associate as I did with Heather. She explained all the features and options for the two vehicles. I was interested in purchasing. The Rogue and Altima. She really made me feel like she was really concerned with my happiness. She never rushed me and was very patient with me. I am very slow when it comes to making selections. I am very particular. It has to be the right color right, right options, right price and right feel. She and Matt worked very hard to get me into an affordable car. I will recommend friends and family to this dealership. I was really impressed with the care and thoughtfulness of the entire staff. Everyone was friendly. It seems most car sales people at other dealerships really try to get you to purchase vehicles that they want to get off the lot. Heather gave me many choices of colors and options and I test drove both vehicles. I owned a Pohanka Honda a few years ago and from what I remember the staff was very nice and courteous too.Thank you Pohanka!

He is very professional while being friendly, aggressive while not being pushy, he is a GREAT asset to the NISSAN team.
