Our sales person, Mike Moran, was excellent!! I would buy another car from him in a heart beat and will absolutely recommend him to my family and friends. However, the dealership was so-so. We had two bad/ unprofessional experiences with the dealership. The first was the receptionist. After my initial visit to the dealer, I realized I forgot to ask a few general questions about the vehicle. Based on my sales person's schedule, i knew he wouldn't be there. I told the receptionist that and asked if I could speak to anyone. She refused to let me speak to anyone else and kept dumping me into my sales person's voice mail. After repeated call backs with similar results (including hanging up on me) I gave up. When I next spoke with my sales person, I told him about it. He checked into it and said the regular receptionist was off on the date and time I called and someone inexperienced was filling in. While I understand the situation, they way I was treated was completely unacceptable and Porter is ultimately responsible for her actions and behavior. The second bad experience was with the finance manager. Our credit is stellar, but the rate he quoted was not very good. When my husband questioned the rate and explained he knew his credit score and worked in banking and finance, the finance person became very snotty and sarcastically told my husband he was free to go find a better rate elsewhere and "good luck". We did and got a much better rate! In the end, our sales person gets a score of A+ and the dealership a C.

We had the very best salesman, Gary Wiegner, Porter Hyundai, Newark, DE. He went above and beyond to help me with selecting a car as I am short and needed to have a car that I can drive comfortably. He showed us at least three different models. It took a tremendous effort on his part to make sure that I made a choice that I would be completely happy with. We returned a week later to purchase another car from Gary for my husband.

We came into Porter to look around at the different cars they had. We had never shopped for a foreign car before. A salesperson named Gary greeted us, asked us a couple of questions to help us narrow down our search, and let us explore the lot on our own. He gave us his card and said to contact him if we had any questions. We shopped at a few more dealerships in the area, but came back to Porter for a test drive because of Gary. After the test drive, Gary helped us narrow down the options we wanted, and really made buying the car easy. It was the best car buying experience I have ever had.

There was nothing more I could ask from the staff. I contacted the staff knowing I was tight on time and needed to get a deal quickly. I initially worked with Gary who went above and beyond to work within my schedule. He kept open lines of communication and worked tirelessly to get a deal I'd like. At the time I was ready to buy, Gary was busy but understood my time constraint and gave the sale to ethan who was great. At the beginning of the meeting I let him know my needs and he quickly met them. The experience was better than expected. Tim was also excellent. He explained everything in my contracts and paperwork and I asked A LOT of questions. I left 4 dealerships because I didn't like the salesperson but I stayed at Porter because the process felt honest and the people were refreshing. Every single person at porter was fantastic and if I don't stay with hyundai at the end of my lease there is no doubt I'll stay with porter. Hopefully getting an infiniti! 10 out of 10 for my experience.

My salesperson is awesome. I worked with Crissy Betty (Porter Hyundai, Newark) in January 2016 to purchase an Elantra. Unfortunately due to an accident that was not my fault, the car was totaled 6 months later. I worked with Crissy again this past July. She contacted me right away, was in constant communication and searched for exactly what I wanted. She provided a lot of information so that I was equipped with all the knowledge I needed before making my purchase. She also got down to the bottom line without me having to waste my time (or hers) on lots of haggling. I was in contact with several other dealers during the beginning of the process, but quickly let them know that I would be working exclusively with Crissy as what she was offering me was better without wasting my time. I would recommend family and friends to work with Crissy at Porter Hyundai - Newark. I plan to work with Crissy again in a few years when I trade for another Hyundai. She greeted us on a busy Saturday afternoon and was efficient with finding out our new purchase vehicle needs. We are grateful she greeted us - she was an excellent sales person. Keith Dant, Sales Manager, was very helpful and assisted us with our trade in. He would stop by to ask us if we had any questions and treated us very kindly. Additionally, Jeff Scott, a sales person sitting near Crissy, was very knowledgeable and answered questions about Hyundai and Porter. Ethan Price assisted us with our car test drives one evening. (We must have visited the dealership every night after work for a week!! --- Not to mention the calls/emails with Crissy (so helpful!!)). Rick Neil presented the F&I and we purchased an extended warranty and Porter's lifetime oil change package. In all, we would recommend everyone to go to Porter to buy their new Hyundai. You can tell that it's a well run organization and that the staff is professional and friendly. I just traded in a 15 year old Santa Fe and am looking forward to driving my new Tuscon for the next 15 years!!!!!!

I purchased 2000 and 2014 Hyundai Accents from this dealer and they are fine-I keep returning. This time it was a 2016 Elantra GT which seems great so far. I love the features for the price. I also had a 2009 and a 2012 Accent. I am obviously a fan.

It took my mother and I four days in total to completely lease my vehicle. The first visit, I was quoted a preposterous price and a number that was completly off the boards. The second visit took three days to complete in total. I went to pick up my vehicle the second day and it was NOT ready because of a recall in the air conditioning part of the car. I had to go back to Porter Hyundai the next day, with limited time and then pick up my vehicle which did not have a full tank of gas. Additionally, there was a clerical error on my lease which lead to having to sign a new lease. The salesman was expecting me to come to Porter Hyundai for the FIFTH time to complete this assignment. I was in the middle of moving from three hours away and was expected to complete this task when the error was NOT on my part. My family and I have had three previous leases through Porter and we will NOT be returning. This was the absolute most unprofessional experience I have had with a car dealer. Porter Hyundai is going down the drain, their services have declined extremely. Overly dissapointed with their workers and all that was involved with my purchase.

Porter Sales department was excellent. Now I am dealing with the Collision Department of Porter Chevrolet because someone hit the beautiful car that was bought for my birthday. I haven't had it for a week. I was still pulling protection plastic off and enjoying learning the new features in the car. Anyway, no one was hurt and everyone at the Collision center is nice as well as sympathetic. I may be looking to buy the same version of the same car and asked the salesman to find another. It took him one day to locate a car exactly like mind. I hope Hyundai will offer me some kind of discount so that I can purchase the same car. The person who hit me had insurance and I hope that I can get some of the diminished value back from the insurance company to help pay for the car that I purchased.

I went in one day shopping around for vehicles. Crissy Betty met me outside and introduced herself. We took a test drive on a 2016 Elantra, but I did not purchase that day. Ms. Betty got in touch with me a few days later, so I came in. She was not aggressive or pushy at all, which made me feel more comfortable. I ended up purchasing that day. They even agreed to hold my personal check for a few days while I transferred money into my account. The whole experience was great, and they treated me with great professionalism.

Had a great experience buying a new car. My sister-in-law swears by Hyundai vehicles but I normally buy cars that are traditionally made in the U.S. I decided I had to think of the best deal for the price which is why I bought a Hyundai. Gary Wiegner was my sales person and was not pushy or aggressive like other dealers. The sales manager, can't recall his name, was helpful as well. The finance guy, again, can't remember his name, was straight forward and honest. The last car I had purchased was at a Chevy dealership in Delaware and the finance people really played games with me so Porter was refreshing.

I've been to this Dealership in the past and i gotta say the service is excellent and never lets me down. Seems like everyone in there is really down to earth and wants to help you. They also seem to try and get you the best deal without messing up your credit. My girlfriend went to toyota with way better credit then me and they slammed her credit with 15 hard inquiries. Hyundai was way lower than that, ranging at 6, which isn't bad for someone with my credit. Great service and i will always recommend them to any of my friends. I also highly recommend Mike Moran if you go. you won't be disappointed

Dealing with Porter Hyundai was refreshing and not like dealing with a typical car dealer at all. The salesman Gary was really nice and down to earth and very low pressure and laid back. I really appreciate that and it made the experience very easy. This was our first Hyundai and we are very impressed with the car so far and thoroughly impressed with Porter Hyundai through the experience and will definitely return because of it. If you haven't ever considered Hyundai before, trust me, do yourself a favor and seriously consider them. The vehicles are very good quality and Hyundai is much more motivated to provide good deals as they are working on gaining market share here in the U.S. I was a Honda guy my whole life,.. but the Honda dealer was a pain to deal with and clearly not interested in selling cars. Dealing with the honda dealer reminded me of why I hated to deal with car dealers in the first place. Dealing with Hyundai was so refreshing and to be honest, after comparing the two,.. the car we got from Hyundai is actually a nicer car than the Honda. The fit and finish and the styling of the car is much better. The gas mileage is basically the same as well. And the warranty with Hyundai is much better as well.

WARNING>>>BUYER BEWARE!!!!! Story starts out great...Prior to this purchase I was a tried and true Toyota customer for YEARS!!!! i was ready for a new car and was referred to Mike Moran at Porter Hyundai. Mike indeed was/is great. on sale day it took approximately 6 hours. arrived around 3 pm and did not leave until just about 9 pm. i realize this was due to a myriad of things...selecting car, used car appraisal, loan and documentation and the salesperson handling customers who had an appointment....no issue there...part of the process. I left just before 9 pm (i was tired and Mike still was juggling other customers...i did it as favor to say i come back for him to do a walk around and show the inner workings). Biggest mistake of my life. when i left the dealership (which lighting was not great) i did a cursory look at the vehicle but again Mike was tied up and lighting was poor. (note: NEVER TAKE DELIVERY OF CAR AT NIGHT.....PERIOD.) turns out there was a good size scratch low on the passenger side windshield that ran contrary to the swipe of the windshield....also no damage on the body of the vehicle). i called the following day when I noticed it. They DID agree to replace this. So....took my car to body shop and picked up a loaner so that they could replace windshield. Following day i go to pick up my car and there's a huge chip in the hood. Manager reluctantly agrees to 'fix it'...this meant i bring the vehicle to the paint guy (contract guy that comes once a week to the used car lot)....he was nice but dabbed a little paint and said there you go...mind you the paint did not fill the chip nor was it the color of the car. he advised the paint would adjust. IT DID NOT. Call the following day. Mike put me to Keith....nighttime manager....he was adversarial from the start and says NOW that the (windshield and the chip) could have happened anytime by anyone...intimating i did this or had knowledge of it!!!! calling me a Liar without calling me a liar (sidenote: would love for him to refute anything that i am putting down in this review...he will know that he would then be exposed)...he also advised that Tim (daytime manager the day i purchased advised him (Keith) that i did a thorough walk around....makes no sense since Keith was the one present (by present i mean working at night...not waving to me goodbye as i drove off)...not sure why he would even bring this to light. Continuing with story he tells me that if i not happy with the hood paint 'fix' that I could pay the body shop to fix the car....I clearly was in AWE...not only am I a liar but they agreed to resolve an issue and failed horribly. Also to tell me that they "porter' did this as Courtesy....Really...So my Buyer BEWARE reminder is.... NEVER TAKE DELIVERY AT NIGHT, TRUST IS EVERYTHING AND IF A DEALERSHIP DISPLAYS UNTRUSTWORTHY VALUES AND ATTITUDES...AND!!! HOW YOUR TREATED THE DAY YOU BUY VS THE DAY AFTER!!!! It's up to people like me to OUT these types of occurrences to maybe save the next person. Note: I did reach out to Hyundai Corporate and unfortunately they said they could not compel Porter to fix or change anything....in addition they were not able to allow me to update my Survey sent to them....i would not however change anything great about Mike Moran....who got put in the middle.

I had cast a large net for the particular Santa Fe I was looking for...because there are so few of them out there right now. I had nailed down excellent pricing, about 800 less than the truevalue quote that I got. This was from 2 local dealers who I trust. However, I would have had to wait until a car became available.Porter had the car. They told me up front that they thought the True Value price was a good one for both of us and they were going to stick to it. I can't blame them. It is a good price and they had the only car. As opposed to several dealers I had gone to who were deceptive in their pricing and unprofessional in their negotiation (the low availability made them feel like they could take advantage), Mike Moran was professional and helpful from the beginning.I could have told him I wasn't interested and the car would have been traded to the dealer with the lower price...but I felt this just wasn't fair... so I bought from Mike. We drove about an hour to Newark. He stayed for me on his night off... and was just a pleasure to deal with.His business manager was able to get me a slightly lower interest rate than the Hyundai promotion. Not a huge difference but I appreciated the gesture. (one other dealer had lured me in with a low price and then tried to screw me by not letting me use the Hyundai promotion...and insisting on a higher price!)These guys have class and I appreciated it. The car is a gem... I absolutely love it... Our other car is an Audi Q5, about 10K more... and I think I prefer this one.Absolutely consider a Hyundai if you need an SUV... and definitely buy from Mike. He is a class act.

I can't say enough about Porter Auto Group, and in this particular case Porter Hyundai. I had just bought a car in May of 2012 so they were surprised to see me back again. Many sales people would just assume I was killing time, but our sales person, Tim Miller spent time with me, going over options and vehicles. We decided on a Silver Limited Tucson AWD with the Premium Package. They didn't have any, but Tim looked at the incoming inventory and found that there was one on the way. This is where I can help you to understand how much I enjoy working with Porter: Other dealers within driving distance did have those vehicles in stock, and we didn't even bother contacting them-we love working with Porter. The deal? Absolutely amazing. Anyone can go on the internet and look up car prices these days, and I was very happy with the price I got compared to "fair market value". When the car got in, it was quickly inspected, prepped and detailed. I was out the door and driving our new Tucson in just a short time. We were so happy that my wife made Tim cupcakes and we dropped them off later that evening.Thanks Porter Hyundai!
