Shopping for a car can be stressful and overwhelming, with so many options and packages it can be annoying. David Acosta from Potamkin Hyundai walked us through the variety of packages for the 2017 sonatas. Quickly he enabled us to narrow down what would actually fit our family based on our priorities in a car. At the end of the day his customer service was up to par and he provided us with insight to purchase the right car. I received excellent service from this dealership. Jorge Frontier was wonderful and everything a customer would want in a salesman. He's friendly, he listened and went out of his way to make sure that all of my questions were answered. He made the entire process easy and fun and didn't treat me like just another sale. The finance manager Rob Lo was great with his easy conversation. I feel like I got a decent deal considering I had a bk discharge 5 months ago and they didn't make it seem like I was a pariah, which other dealers did. Im very disappointed with potamkin hyundai management because on September 15 i bought a 2017 elantra and the "bank" requested 700 for down deposit and i did pay it...while signing the paperwork, i told the finance manager, that the last time i bought a car here (which was in dec 2015, sonata 2016) a month after the purchase i got a call from one of the managers saying that i needed to pay 2000 or they would tow my car away...i went over to the dealer and the manager said that the "bank" needed 2000 or the deal couldnt be done...i was so stupid that i payed for it because i had already made plans with the car.....NOW THIS TIME, for the elantra i told the girl, that LETS HOPE THIS TIME IN A MONTH FROM NOW, YOU GUYS DONT CALL ME REQUESTING MORE MONEY BECAUSE THE BANKS NEEDS MORE...sophia said...no that wont happen, it shouldnt happen.... WELL IT DID HAPPEN, the dealer waited until the 15 of october to let me know that the deal wasnt approved because the bank needs more money...i said thats BS. You guys are not going to catch me twice, you are playing a dirty game here and probably im not the only customer going through this. I was infuriated...i went to the office and spoke to the general manager and told.him to cancel everything and that i needed my money back, my deposit.. Im not happy with potamkin hyundai..last time will buy or lease there...

I was very pleasantly surprised with the level of professionalism received during my last service visit. Miguel Rosario is to Potamkin what Jose Fernandez (RIP) was to the Marlins. He is friendly, efficient and hits home runs.When picking up my vehicle not only was it washed, it was vacuum and tires dressed.The magic started at drop off. The staff makes a great team, I been a customer since 2014, this time I was really blown of the water.When I arrived to service, I realized I had forgotten my crutches (I had an knee surgery) and phone charger. Miguel's first concern was my well being. He helped me get to the Lobby and for me to wait there. While in the lobby I asked the wonderful cashier , if she had a phone charger I could borrow. Not only she lend me the charger, she also offered me to keep it for the day, and assisted me with the coffee - Five start white glove service service or what!!!! Miguel returned with the paper work and David the shuttle driver.Not only did David move my briefcase and lunch box from my car to the shuttle, he even offered me some crutches they had in storage. At the rental place he made sure I was attended and again moved the stuff from the shuttle to the loaner.With this quality of service the only thing missing are the white gloves!!

Given the dealer's interest to sell, clients are often deceived by honest offers that yet are not convenient to their specific situation. I had one problem and that was at the end When I thought everything was complete.I had my price and when i went to sign the contract with the finance dept they switched it when they offered me more protection.They made me feel that i should have it and would cost me more than i thought i was going to pay.So I lost my 12000 miles per year and they gave me 10000 miles per year so that payment would only go up a little.I took the deal because it was late .They were busy that day so it took a long time . That was the bad experience at the very end by the finance dept.I was upset with them after the good job of my salesperson.I wish i could get my 12000 miles per year back,

Same as before ( reposted): I leased the new vehicle on Sunday. There were a few details that needed to be fixed by the service department (tire pressure, tire caps, SD card for navi, floor mats, extra key, manual, etc.) but they were closed until Monday. The actual lease of the vehicle went smoothly although I was quite annoyed by the attempt to up-sell me on service packages when the first 3 services are supposed to be included. I thought that was very disingenuous. But when I brought the car into the service department Monday morning it was chaos. My salesperson did help me and took me to the service guy but he was so busy he didn't even pay attention hardly. The cars were backed up to the highway (like 10 deep). I was originally told this visit would only take like 5 minutes but after two hours my car had not been moved. Victoria was helpful in at least actually giving me paperwork and getting me in the queue. I asked for a loaner because I had to get to work and was sent to Enterprise Rentals. They took over 1.5 hours to get me a car. And returning the car took the same amount of time. So I spent almost a full day dealing with this. It was like being tortured for leasing a new car with them.

I purchased a car from here MONTHS ago. The salesman lied several times. Hector the Manger makes false promises he's a joke. Jeff also a manager lies. Everyone I encountered at the dealership makes false statements and lies to get a deal and get you out. They don't care about your time all they want is your money. The salesman even said he hated the establishment and quit. It's been all a year and I'm STILL waiting for paperwork AND my second key to the BRAND NEW vehicle I purchased. I ordered a taillight cover for my Honda Accord. Their website is a mess at best. Both the right and left side covers shows the same picture. Even the part description is not detailed enough to judge whether I am ordering the right side or left side cover. Eventually I ended getting the wrong side cover. When I asked for exchange from J Bonnetti.(bonettijatpotamkinhyundai.com), he refused to take responsibility for the company's messy website and forwarded me some BS email about their return policy.I had to order the right side cover after digging more into their website. Now they send me wrong part (taillight cover) of some other car model. By this time I had already spend 200$ and wasted 3.5 weeks as the parts are being shipped from Miami to Texas. If anybody reading this review can point me towards some consumer complaint forum, i will be obliged. Order no 17442 and 17512 and purchase dates are May 8 and May 17.I will certainly tell everybody to stay away from them.

My first couple of service calls went pretty well, and I highly recommended the service agent and dealership to several friends. This last trip was a total mess. I made an appointment for 8:30 AM on what was supposed to be a lightly scheduled day, and arrived 15 minutes early. The car was checked in, and I figured I would be out by lunchtime--say 12:30 or 1:00PM. But after that the car sat around for long periods of time with the hood up, but no one actually working on it. I had several conversations with Willie, the service rep., during the day, but nothing much happened. I got a bite to eat from a lunch wagon that came in. I was having the spark plugs replaced and a rough idle corrected, and by mid afternoon the engine was finally opened up for the work. A necessary part had been ordered from their warehouse next door but supposedly had not yet been delivered (from next door?). I finally got the car back-barely-when the service department was closing at 6:00 PM. 9 1/2 hrs for a 3 hr job?

I thought I had a good experience buying a car in 2010. The sales person (actually the business person doing the financial closing) convinced me to purchase extended warranty when I told him that I keep my cars for many years. This was sold to me for $1,300 as a bumper-to-bumper warranty. After a few years I had maintenance done at another Hyundai dealer and asked if I could use the extended warranty there. They told me that I need to check the policy. Only then I realize that they never gave me a policy, only the sales receipt, which included a "service" line for $1,300. In the following several weeks I tried to contact them by phone and email to solve this problem and always got the run around. Finally, in 2016 my clutch broke and I took the car there. One nice salesperson helped me find the company's name (from 2010) that issued the warranty. At that point I though I was good. Later the service department called me to tell me that a broken clutch is not included in the warranty and it would cost $1,100.00. I fought for a couple of weeks with no success. I always had a manual car and never had a clutch problem. My car is only 35k miles. I must say that the service man, Miguel was great and helpful, but the head of the service department, Carlos Mercado was rude, patronizing and extremely disrespectful when I was trying to explain that I felt swindled by purchasing a $1,300 extended warranty for nothing. I will never go to this place again.

From Jorge my salesman to Monica at the service parts department, I've always been treated great and I love these 2 individuals who went out of their way to make me feel comfortable and cared for. I'm upset at the fact the Potamkin didn't do anything for me in reference to what happened to my car. They could've paid for the damage or at the least have me pay only for half considering I wasn't told the car was so low to the ground that it hits the cement bumper on the floor. Again I say unfair!

I would not recommend this dealer to my worst enemy.. The worst service I have EVER dealt with my whole life.. I have been an auto technician for years and I know customer servicein the automobile industry and this is by far the WORST customer service I have ever had the displeasure of encountering. Aside from denying me service I am entitled to, I received NO service from ANY of the managerial staff, and after waiting 5 hours, I was told I needed to come back in a week for the service they can provide. The overall experience with this dealer is good but in some areas is stressful, mostly for the amount of sales pitches they throw at you to trade in your vehicle and buy another one, from the time you make your appointment online to when you pick up your vehicle and if they were not able to get you at the dealer they do over the phone. I think is too much and it make the experience sour full. The other problem is that they do not have a body shop and if you need that type of repair they end up sending you to an independent shop or you need to drive out of your way to another dealer.I have no complain at the quality of the vehicle or the work performed also the service and other personnel is very attentive and helpful, specialty the service advisors, from the moment you walk in they treat you with respect and professionalism. If they curb down the amount of sales pressure if would be a great auto dealer.

As I said before the sales staff the finance staff everyone was excellent my only complaint is that we received a car with scratch and we were offered grudgingly by management to repair it however when we did so we spent our time coming to the dealership and yet we're told we had to pay for the gas on the loaner car. I spent my time coming back to the dealership that I shouldn't have to return to to repair a car that should've been given to me in a new condition and yet I have to pay for the gas to and from and for the entire time that I have a loaner car because it takes two days repair it .is that right? Since my last review we have returned and had the repair done on the scratch. Gelson Took great care of us and make sure that our gas tank was filled up when we left. Due to the wonderful service Gelson Gomez as well as the finance dept. staff, I changed my rating to five stars even though the manager let us down

Went in for oil change & tire rotation. Tires were not rotated. Not even the air pressure was checked. I know because I always leave a mark on the tires to check people's honesty. In Miami, that's become a necessity. Guess what? This dealer's service dept. failed that test. Makes you doubt whether the oil was even changed at all. My advice: Have a way to verify any service done and avoid this dealership because they failed my honesty test.Being friendly is never a sign of honesty.

There are other large dealers in the area that give better service and take better care of potential Customers such as Rick Case on I75.It makes no sense to have Sales Personnel that work very hard to satisfy the Customer and then a Sales Manager and a Lease manager makes your life miserable and changes all what the Sales person has worked out with you.For that, why the Dealership needs Sales Force? use one for all the Manager and then you don't lose that much time.

Interesting that they were able to beat everybody else on the vehicle's price in spite of being such a small dealership. Goes without saying that the claims low prices because of the emphasis on sales by volume made by bigger dealership are not well founded. Potamkin promised me a price over the phone and came through with it just as promised. Not a luxurious location as the mega dealers in the neighborhood but that may very well be the explanation of the lower price.

Went in after confirming a certain car (year/model/trim/package/colors) were in stock; get there and the car is not the color described. Not a good intro (in my mind I'm thinking the same thing you all are which is bait and switch), none the less the sales person, Gelson Gomez, apologized and promised to make right with another colored Santa Fe with the same package. We had brought in a true car estimate at 30,984, Gelson comes back with 31,133. The reasoning? First aid kits, and other misc add ons for this car. We go back and forth on the price, rebates, the breakdown of the fees the dealer is making, etc.. about an hour into this, one of the floor managers, JOHN ESCOVAR, comes in.John Escovar, starts spouting how true car is not a dealership, they don't know what it is, and that as a small dealership, they are willing to be close to the price but to work with him. I remind him I'm not a charity, and that the price I'm countering with is more than fair for a 14 santa fe (mind you they're about 20 or so in different trims and models) some sitting there since June, and the fact that its a sunday and there is tumble weed going through their show room.John then suggests if we don't like the price he's come up with, that maybe we are out of our price range and we should go look at something cheaper. I chuckled (seeing as they learnt later on when verifying income, when you make 100k+ a year you can definitely afford the car but you're not going to give out money), and walked out.The GSM, GREG MUIR, has me make a detour as I'm walking out, tries explaining the same things John does, asks me the famous "what do you wanna spend a month" line, after I ignore him and tell him my price on the vehicle, he says "have a nice day" and turns away.Out in the parking lot, my sales person Gelson, who's the only one by now that hasn't been absurdly rude after finding out that I'm not some uneducated consumer they can con, comes and tries to rectify the situation. We spend another 2 hours at this point going back and forth on the hood of the car; him trying to get the GSM to lower the price, the GSM not budging (I'm guessing out of spite now since I walked out on bad terms).Finally the GSM gets in contact with Frank Pena, the actual manager at Potamkin Hyundai, who approves the price I wanted. Finally some common sense demonstrated by the management in this place.After this things went fairly smooth; John Escovar, comes into the office (at this point after agreeing we move the party back in doors), and goes to shake hands like if nothing happened. (Imagine my amusement and thrill.) We agree on a price, fill out the credit forms, etc..head to finance with Freddy Duran, decline all the add-ons, go over the contract with a fine tooth comb making sure all the fees are explained, taxes, etc.. add up, sign, and get out of here!6-7 hours later, the parts department is closed, can't get our books, spare keys, and mats. Should hopefully be taken care of tomorrow (this happened today, 11-23-2014).To summize, Gelson Gomez was a pleasure to deal with, tried his best to seal the deal, and did so...no thanks to his management (John and Greg) who would rather let a 2014 santa fe sit next to the other 16 on the lot and go to auction or have to get sent back to make room for the 2015s at a WAY deeper slash than that I offered.Did I mention we were 1 of the 2-3 people I saw actively working out a deal in the whole show room which I was in from 1 to about 7:30 pm?? And the only ones I saw closing a deal was me and my fiance? They would rather not close a deal (which they would not budge with 700-800 until the GM phoned in from home), than to close a deal in a desolate dealership on a weekend. Greg and John were insulting, scoffing at me and my fiance, insulting my ability to purchase a car which is well below what we can afford (its called being savvy buddy, sorry your usual clientele lets you rip them any which way); my suggestion is to reevaluate this choice of management, letting money slip to other dealers and retaining inventory that's been sitting for 6+ months.Thanks again Gelsen; as for the GSM and floor manager, I will escalate this further up. Learn to take care of your customers.

I recently went to the dealer for a flat tire, I thought that everything had been arranged, but continued tire trouble, I returned to the dealership and was told that the tire was broken, and had to pay for a new tire, I went to another school and I certified that it was a bad job of the dealer, and he did not want to admit it, so I am willing to open a civil case against the dealer, and discredit him for shoddy work and overall service.

My car got keyed when it was there getting serviced.They lied about the mileage of the car saying it had 2, 000 miles less than it did. Not maintaining the word of a quote given over a phone for a new car. They said it was an honest mistake but did not do anything to fix the mistake. They had 5 people making numbers and no one came with a reasonable offer. Their only option for us was to be penalized for their mistake. I have been reading reviews about this dealer and are not good. I went to Braman after a telephone conversation about the price of a 2013 Santa Fe 2t Leather Premium and got it for $2,000 less than the best price on any dealer in south Florida. Braman people were extremely professional , we only had to deal with just one person. Braman does not have the usual stupid negotiation of going back and forth with managers that most 99% of dealers have including Potamkin. The total process took less that 2 hours!!!!! I would like to Recommend Braman Hyundai to anyone looking for a new car. I Love the Santa Fe 2013 2t. Call Michael Fernandez at Braman if you want the best price for a Hyundai in South Florida and maybe in the whole US.

This summer we bought a new Hyundai Elantra and dealt with Ed Gonzales at Potamkin. A very positive experience, as we were taken very good care of by Ed. He was attentive to our needs and made it clear that he wanted to work to make the deal happen, which is why it dd. We looked at many dealers and Potamkin's no nonsense approach to dealing with us was very much appreciated and the reason we signed on the dotted lie without hesitation. A month ago I wrote an excellent review about my experience ( 1st day after the dale) at Potamkin Hyundai, and now a month later I come back to make a final statement. The experience that seemed great changed a week after driving my new Elantra GT. The leather seats promised by the sealer were never installed, the excuse was that the bank didn't approved. After they cashed the check of the down payment they called to notify me that I had to pay out of my pocket if I still wanted the leather seats. After the disappointment I tried to cancel the deal and return the car, since the contract that I signed for was no longer valid. However, in order to receive the check of the down payment back I would have to wait almost two weeks, for them to get that approve pd and signed the head of the company... And the funny thing is that they wanted to keep the car there at that moment. So, my options were pay the promissed leather from your pocket, leave the car here and wait two weeks for your check back ($6,000) or take the car the way that it is....That's not even all... The temporary license tag would expire on 09/06, and I contacted the sealer (Paola) a week before asking when I would receive the original tag. Her answer was that it wasn't ready yet, but I could get another temp one. So, I sent my gf to get it while I was working. She gave her a hard time because she wanted the expired that in exchange to the new temp one, she made her wait over an hour, after she spoke with people there she finally got it. I txt Paula on Friday asking if the tag was already there, her answer was "Monday" . On Monday I drove there got the tag and when I got home there was a little flyer on the mail from Potamkin saying " Your license plate it's ready to pick up" and dated since Friday. There wasn't a sorry from part of them. After the sale is done you are nobody... All the smiles and friendliness is gone.I wouldn't recommend this dealer to anybody.

I chose Hyundai because they have built a good reputation and they have some very cute cars. I ended up with an accent and have enjoyed it a lot. I bought a used 2009 Genesis from Potamkin Hyundai. My initial contact was by phone with Chris Hayek (sales manager). The whole entire sales process was great. Chris was upfront and honest and very easy to deal with. He was able to do most of the transaction by phone and email, so I didn't waste any time at the dealership. When I decided to move forward with my purchase Chris introduced me to Larry (finance manager) he completed my paperwork and was able to get me a 2.99% rate. I love my new car. The whole staff was professional and to the point. I highly recommend this dealership.

I have been in the market for a reliable, yet powerful vehicle with good gas mileage ever since gas prices began to rise. My V8 was a great vehicle but even Achilles had his weakness...Looked into purchasing a Kia Optima Turbo, Honda Accord V6, and also considered the new Sonata Turbo.The Accord is a nice car but I didn't enjoy the look of the sedan. Also, after 2 HORRENDOUS trips to Kia dealerships, I was ready to give up and go home. During my trip home, I happened to pass by Potamkin and decided on seeing a Sonata Turbo. The salesman whom I worked with while there (Bartolo) made the expereince extremely enjoyable and within minutes, we were inside a vehicle that had everything we were looking for and more. Unlike other dealers that want your money first and listen later... both Bartolo and his manager (Frank) were knowledgeable about their line and took the time to answer all questions before even considering figures. After a brief discussion of numbers, we felt we had a good price and did not have to pull teeth or attempt leaving the dealer for them to work with us.If you want an honest dealer who is willing to listen, get the NUMBERS you want, for the CAR that you want, this is the place. No matter how good a product is, a good salesman makes it great - As much as the vehicles sell themselves with performance and ease of use, I find customer service to be a huge part of the car selection process. I can honestly say that after visiting Potamkin, I never went back to Honda or Kia (blech) again. If you are in the neighborhood for a Hyundai, I'd highly recommend them!
