Easy to make an appointment for service. I work until 4:30 pm and I can make a 5:00 appointment and not have to take time off to get my car serviced. Clean waiting room. Friendly. Have been doing business with them for years.

Recently had my oil changed. When returning home, parked my car on my cement driveway. Several hours later returned to the car and a huge oil stain was under my car. This has never happened before. All is fine but now I have oil on my cement. Wasn't very pleased. Accidents happen though.

Prothro has many staffing issues and short handed in several departments. After purchasing my new vehicle GMC offers free oil changes. When it was time for my oil change I stopped in was told that I needed an appoitment but they could not fit me in because they had to many old customers. I made an appoitment for the following week but when I took my vehicle in it took almost three hours just for an oil change. It is a very laid back dealership where the good old boys loves to talk but really 3 hours for an oil change...... My next visit was to the collission center for a scratch that was on my vehicle at time of purchase. The gentleman was very nice and loved to talk as well but it took them five days to repair a one inch scratch. When I picked the vehicle up I could see they just took a touch up kit to it. Very unprofessional and the standard of work is poor. The scratch looked better before they touched it up. I was told they are having trouble with help and I could bring it back next week....Really? Are you kidding me? Also, they loaned my a vehicle but the lights in the dash kept going out while driving down the road. In the loaned department they are laid back as well and I was I informed her of the vehicle I was driving had an issue she told me be glad you got one that nice! No one gets in an hurry here!! Also, if you call a live person does answer the phone but if you call more than once you can hear her voice get snippy......One of the worse car dealers I ever seen but I will be reporting my issues to GMC so they know of the issues as well.

I have a 2010 GMC Yukon Denali. It has had a ticking noise since I bought it. I guess I never realized it until starting clacking very loud. (Sounded like motor knocking) In May 2014, we took it in for repairs. They replaced all lifters. When we picked it up, it continued to make the ticking noise.In August, we dropped it off again. They say they can't hear anything.The first part of the month, we took it back again. Our regular mechanics heard the ticking also, and they found oil cooler lines leaking. Of course, they did not hear the ticking. They did repair the oil lines.I have no issues with the dealership. I just want to make sure that my vehicle is covered because my warranty runs out. I only have 47,000 miles and it is well taken care of.

Asked for basic information and got 5 emails from them before they ever answered one simple question! How many miles did the vehicle have. Then they replied with simply the number and nothing else. From that point I never heard back from anyone. I would not do business with them if they can't answer a simple question for 2 days then be short with me about it.

Went to Prothro a few weeks ago to purchase a car, and I was definitely impressed with the service they provided. They were professional, respectfully casual, and were not pushy or rushing like a lot of other dealerships. That day, the dealership was supposed to close early, but the individual working with me worked late to help me out with this vehicle. If that isn't dedication and customer service, I'm honestly not sure what is then. Prothro is definitely a dealership I'd go to again if I ever needed a new vehicle. I definitely hope to visit them again in the distant future if I ever decide to trade this fantastic vehicle.
