Let me begin by saying that I did not catch this on the day of the sale and that is on me for being gullible enough to trust someone when I should have been looking at them under a careful microscope. I arrived on the lot that day driving a free and clear car that was running great, I just was looking at new cars to update to include some of the newer features available. There was no urgency to purchase anything.I found a 2016 Civic that I liked and took it for a test drive. It handled well and had a very nice look. So we sat down to discuss what they would give me for my trade-in and the financing (Please note, I had come with a pre-approval in hand, so was not under the stress of worrying about whether or not I could get financing.) At first they came to me with what I felt was a low trade-in amount. Looking at their numbers, I was just going to leave. I had run the value before I came and while there was some clean-up, the car was low mileage (around 78,000) and was maintained. There was no urgency to purchase and since the numbers were not what I wanted I thanked them for their time and went to leave. We discussed what I had expected for the car and they left to look at it again to see if they could make it work.Now we get to the part that I missed and frankly with all their claiming of transparency I had never expected from them. The sticker price on the car I was purchasing was $22,875. When they came back to offer me more on the trade-in, the price on the new car was set at $24,612, an inflated price of $1,737. Which is about the difference between what they offered me the first time for my trade-in and what I ended up "getting" for my trade-in. I missed it. I was carefully watching the trade-in amount and the possible payment. All the while not catching that they had inflated the price of the car.I take ownership of my error and accept that I did not realize I was being played until after the ink had dried and I was trying to set up insurance and putting the new information in my financial tracker. That being said, their business practices are in my opinion horrid. I am sure they will claim the price difference is due to the protectants that I purchased, but believe me, those prices were tacked onto the already inflated price.Now I am stuck with a rather giant reminder that not only did I miss a glaring price hike, but that I have no recourse other than to make sure other people do not fall for it. A car that I was rather proud of has now turned into something that turns my stomach. Something I will have to live with for six years with every payment reminding me that I was taken.Take a picture of the sticker price on the lot. Have it with you when you sit down to negotiate and DO NOT trust these people in any way, shape, or form. Make sure you are comparing the numbers carefully each and every time, because while we know that they are not our friends it is all too easy for them to slip something like this by if you aren't aware they will do it. Then when you wake up and run the numbers there will be nothing you can do about it since Missouri has no law allowing for return of new cars.The BOTTOM LINE: do not purchase a car from Roper Honda in Joplin.

Roper Honda really helped get me the car I wanted. They were very nice and understanding of my situation (got rear ended and it totaled my suv). I was buying against my will. Buying a car can be emotional, especially when you weren't planning on buying a car. Somehow it's different and the folks at Roper were really aware of this issue and gave me the time to leave and come back (several times) to look and drive the car I liked. Then when I didn't think I could do the sale, they called me the next day and totally surprised me by meeting what I "could" do. WOW!

Had a question for the salesman, he couldn't answer it and instead of transferring me to someone who could answer the question, he got an attitude and hung up on me. I called back and talked to the used car sales manager, George, who immediately had an attitude with me. I have bought several cars through Roper and as a repeat customer, I should have been treated with respect, not with the attitude these guys bestowed. Definately not professional men and because of their treatment, I'll take my business elsewhere.

In October I was shopping for a new car. I had a jeep that I loved dearly, but due to gas prices I couldn't afford to keep it. I found a Ford Escape on cars.com and stopped in to Roper Honda to test drive it. Ryan Knell was the sales consultant that approached us. He let us take the lead on what we were looking for and just asked us questions to guide our search. After looking at the Ford Escape, we asked about the Honda CRV as a comparison. He was very knowledgable about both suv's. He did not try to pressure us into buying a Honda over the used Ford which was really nice because we had been looking for awhile and all the other dealerships we went to we left because of the high pressure sales. We ended up looking at a Honda Accord and before we could even ask, Ryan had pulled up the carfax on it! The other dealership we went to that day argued with us and said we had to commit to the sale before they show a carfax. Ryan also took time to show us how to operate all of the gadgets the car offered. He even linked our phone to the handsfree device after we bought it! The first day I drove my car I got a nail in the tire and contacted Ryan. He let the service department know I would be in and Ropers service department fixed my flat at no charge! Buying a new vehicle can be a very stressful experience and I would highly recommend buying from Roper Honda in Joplin!

My wife and I was furious with the way a local Dealership handled our last purchase. Everything about them rubbed me wrong from the get go. Driving up in golf carts and smoking. Very unprofessional. We was about to go out of state to find a new vehicle. We was both on lunch break and decided to look at one more dealership before forgetting about Joplin. When we pulled in to Roper Honda we saw several vehicles that caught out eye and decided to look a little closer. Guess what!!! No one pulled up in a golf cart smoking cigarettes, no one ran over to us and started hassling us, no one made us feel like we was at a car lot. We got a simple "hello" and a smile. When we found the car we was interested in, the young man politely came over and answered every question we had about the vehicle as if it was his own. Everything went perfect from start to finish. He still calls us from time to time to see how things are going and to see if there is anything we need. A+++++++++++ service. Thank you Clifton Holcomb for everything you have done. Because of you we will never shop anywhere else!!!!!!!!!!!

Had an oil change done on my 2005 Honda Accord. Parked the car in my garage and the next morning there is a puddle of oil on the floor. I took it to my local (Carthage, MO) mechanic to see what was going on they found the oil plug was not screwed in tightly. The dealer was notified of the mistake and no apology or anything was offered. Thought I would get top notch service from a dealer, but I was wrong.

We were returning from a 10 day vacation in Colorado when the transmission went completely out on our 12 year old mini-van. Stuck in Carthage, Missouri trying to decide what to do; a young man was wearing his work shirt from the detail section of Roper Honda in nearby Joplin, Missouri. I met Drake and told him our situation and that we would probably need to get another car rather that put the money into a 12 year old car. Drake represented the dealership very well and gave me the name of who to speak with and the number to call and his name to use when speaking with the dealership. I called the dealership and spoke with George, the used car manager and used Drake's name and he sent a salesman to pick us up and bring us to the dealership. Within 20 minutes, Reese arrived, made sure we were ok and directed us back to the dealership. There we met George and he, along with Reese, helped us select a quality used car from their certified used Honda selection. Getting everything completed late on a Friday afternoon was not ideal, but the team at Roper Honda did all they could to get us moving quickly and well taken care of. We were in a bad situation which very easily could have been taken advantage of. I felt that the team at Rope Honda treated us very fairly and helped us greatly in a time of need.

I, left feeling been I didn't Look like I, had thousands Of Dollars they didn't want to help me!! Telling me if I, didn't make 1500.00 a Month they couldn't help me. Didn't ask if I work or Not. Which I do been with my Company for 8 yrs. didn't even ask for a Pay Check Stub!! How would You feel. My Family has done alot of Buniess with these People they didn't Know me, from Adam I guess it must of been Break Time or Something.

They have the worst customer service I have ever seen, anywhere. They will work hard to sell you a vehicle buy after that you are on your own. You cannot even speak to their service center on the phone, you get a call center and they send a message to Honda telling them to call back. You might get a call a 6-36 hours later.

Trading in two vehicles, one near mint, the other needing tires....we were given rough trade value on both. We tried negotiating their 90k mile denali that had been sitting for three months with dry rotted tires and got nothing (other than a credit for the tires). Just to see where we were on financing they submitted it, only to come back with only one offer (meaning the inequity rolled created too high of a purchase price for the car and no bank wanted the deal!) We walked out only to go across the street to purchase a used escalade. We were given book trade as well as correct financing!! Very happy we didn't settle for Roper Honda.

As far as being taken care of, day of the initial sale, it was fine. Ronnie Sanders, the person that actually sold the Nissan Altima to me, was wonderful to deal with. That being said. Everything after the purchase was made, was horrible. I traded in my truck on this car. Being excited about the car, I forgot to take the two year tags that had been purchased two months prior to my new car purchase. My fault perhaps. But I also work in sales, I'd like to think that if something like that had happened to one of my customers, I would've at least picked up the phone and let them know. I lose sixty eight dollars even thought I had the receipt from purchasing the tags two months prior. The D.O.R. doesn't care. The dealership had my info and could have saved me this trouble with a simple phone call. I also had to wait for the title until four days before my temp tags were up and that was only because I called them out of concern. Then when I got to the D.O.R. I found out that all vehicles that are purchased from another state have to be inspected no matter what the year or make is. I personally don't have time to deal with the mess that Roper left me in, or care for the junk mail they send me. In my personal opinion, take the time and money that they are spending on the junk mail, and apply it to following up on the customer and making sure they are saving everything they possibly can. I also told Roper that I was looking for a second vehicle and gave them a decent idea on what I'd need. Haven't heard back yet, a month later. I bought a second car from another dealership one week later. I have had none of the problems with the second dealership.

We first started using Roper Honda in May 2000. We have purchased 4 vehicles from these folks. All our service is taken care of by these folks. We are always treated like close family by all the people at Roper Honda. We send our friends and family to see these folks for anything they may be needing...be it service or a new or used vehicle.

I have purchased five vehicles from Roper over the last seven years. The staff and service are just extraordinary. Ronnie not only went above and beyond, but he was fun and very focused on my satisfaction. In an industry that sometimes get a bad name, Roper Honda shines like a light on the hill. They have integrity and are always looking for ways to have a superior experience. I've lived in much bigger cities, and Roper Honda is by far the best quality service I have received in the auto world. Would definitely recommend to my friends and family!!

Sam called us with a bmw that came on a lot. The car had low miles and the price was right. Sam and Ron did their best to make the process a painless a possible.They worked with us in a friendly professional manner and still made the of experience fun!F and I was great on how they got us financed. The only complaint was the cost of the extended warranty.Other than that everything was GREAT!

My husband and I have bought all our cars from Roper Honda since 1990, when he retired from the Navy..We have bought several cars over the last 22 years but none even come close to Kathy Sleep:sales, Mike and Micheal:service, Darren, Karla and Wayne:parts and Ronnie, John, Jennifer and the girls in the business office at Roper Honda.. They have always treated us like family and when we have seen them away from Roper Honda, like the mall or Walmart they always make an effort to come to us and say HI and ask how we are doing..They are always there to lend a helping hand when we decide to trade our car in and to help us get the best car we can for the price...The Warranty Forever is wonderful to have especially when you drive your car alot like I do..Thank you to all of the gang at Roper HOnda...KEEP UP THE GREAT JOB!!!!!!!!

WE WERE IN JOPLIN TO WATCH A GRANDCHILD'S SOCCER GAME WHEN THE OIL REMINDER LIGHT GAME ON. WE PULLED INTO THE SERVICE DEPT. TO ASK IF THEY COULD GET US IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE WITHOUT AN APPOINTMENT. THEY WELCOMED US WITH OPEN ARMS AND HAD US BACK ON THE ROAD TO THE SOCCER GAME WITH IN 30 MINUTES. THANK-YOU!!!!

I have purchased 2 vehicles from Roper and have had 1 prior that they have done all the service work on. I have found them to be very easy to work with and very professional as well as friendly and not pushy. The service dept "Mikes" have always got me in promptly and even taken care of my concerns if I happen to drop in. I would highly recommend Roper Honda to anyone looking for a trustworthy dealership with a good service dept.
