It's never really a fun thing to get an oil change but I had a good experience at Roseau County Ford. They were friendly and I was able to get my oil changed quickly and at a very affordable price. It was a nice morning so I had a fun time walking the lot and looking at all of the vehicles that were on the lot.

I've had Roseau County Ford work on my truck two times so far and both experiences have been great. I don't trust mechanics or auto shops, so it takes a lot to earn my trust (at least 2 service visits). The first visit I needed plugs replaced on my Ford, transmission and engine coolant flush. Roseau Ford did a great job and a year later, no issues. One other local shop said $100/hour until the plugs are changed (I laughed until I realized they were serious and I drove straight to Roseau Ford and they quoted a firm fixed reasonable cost with work complete the next day). My second visit was for a routine oil change and I drove a 1000 miles the next week with no issues. I will be taking my truck back to them for every oil change from now on while I'm in the area. One advantage of the Roseau community is that if a company does a bad job, has poor service, etc, everyone in the community knows and shares, which puts bad eggs out of business and keeps the good ones in business.

I brought my car in with a nail in the tire after 5pm. (the service dept. closes at 5pm) There still was a worker in the shop closing up and stopped what he was doing to help. He patched my tire and got me on my way. (on his own time) I would like to thank him but don't remember his name. This dealership went above and beyond to help me and I would recommend it to everyone.

June 2014, I arrived at oil change appt one minute early. I arrived at the service desk and said "hi". Two gentlemen (Myron and Rich) looked up from their computers but did not reply. Rich eventually said hello and told me he'd be with me in a minute. He then proceeded to inform me on how upset the customer's whose billing invoice he was working will be once he gets his bill. I don't care to hear such things. Makes one wonder what they say about me when I'm not there and I wonder if their rates were high. Eventually Rich turned his attention to me. I informed Rich I was there for an oil change then inquired about a part I wanted a price check on. Rich told me the other guy (Myron) could quote me a price. Rich then told me to have a seat in the waiting area, which he informed me, was remodeled and not in the same location (it was left for me to locate). Before leaving; I asked Rich what the oil change included. He showed me a checklist sheet of the tasks performed and findings will be indicated where needed. Off I went to sit. Upon my arrival to the new waiting area; TV was off and the coffee pot was off. With still one hour till business end; I would've thought they'd have something going...(yup, I couldve turned the TV on and brewed my own pot, not the point though). While waiting, Rich walked into the manager's office and with the door remaining open, he proceeded to inform the manager of the same billing invoice I heard about in the service area. Again, nothing I care to hear about. No one spoke to me for 39 minutes. At that point the front receptionist (who was a fill-in) informed me she would check to see how things were going. She voiced this from her work area, instead of walking up to me to let me know. I guess her yelling it across the showroom was less strenuous than coming to me. I waited 4 minutes; she didnt come back so I got up to see what was going on. When I entered the service area; Rich had already left and only Myron was working. The receptionist said shed get the bill for me. I walked back to the front desk to wait and pay. Upon paying for my service; I was shorted $20. I informed her of this and she said sorry; this isnt my day job. Nice. She then proceeded to give me the money owed; which she still shorted me $10. Once she finally got the change correct (basic math skills were not evident here) she said she doesnt usually work that area or handle the money. I let this pass. I asked her if everything went okay with the oil change. She then showed me to the checklist indicating my battery failed the test: 0% rating. Hmmm, I would have thought someone from the service area would have contacted me on this prior to this point. My patience was getting pretty thin by that time. I walked back to the service counter to talk with Myron about the battery and also ask about the part price check. Myron said I should get a new battery, thats it. Nice. I then asked about the part quote. He told me the price. I said not bad and told him to order it for me. He said he thought it was pretty cheap too and went ahead and ordered it for me already (without my consent at that point). Nice. So I have a battery which failed a test; they failed on an opportunity to sell me a new one, but they went ahead and ordered a part for less money which I only asked for a quote on. By the time I got out of there it was 5:00; closing time. As I left the building; they were already locking it up behind me. Gosh; they could have at least waited to see if everything was okay with me and my vehicle before removing the opportunity for me to get help from them if needed. I bought my vehicle in a private sale however the person I bought it from purchased it from this business. Earlier that week; I informed the business of the ownership change so their records could be updated. I initially wanted to continue having service with the same business. Well see now. A few opportunities for improvement (OFI) could increase their rating with me. Yes, I would recommend this place for an oil change: no complaints there. Good value for the price. They had an opportunity to make more money from a battery sale if theyd just taken the time to care. They order a part without consent prior to ordering. I wonder how many sales are generated off customers who only want a quote and end up with more. Customer service/ people skills needs improvement. Why settle when they can excel? Small town mentality at work there; friendly and all neighborly like but I would prefer better treatment. Sure, they may be familiar with me however respecting me was another matter. I had to wait to be verbally acknowledged. I was informed to find the waiting area on my own. After 39 minutes of waiting; someone finally spoke to me. No one checked on me whatsoever during that time. I had a part ordered without my consent; just fortunate I agreed to it after the fact. No battery recommendations other than I need a new one. If theyre going to have someone handle money; basic math skills should be a prerequisite.
