We recently contacted Sam Leman because we were interested in purchasing a new Dodge Durango. I used their online chat feature (which is pretty slick, by the way) and ultimately was put in contact with salesman Larry Alston. Larry found a couple Durangos within the Sam Leman family of dealerships and the very next morning we were there to check it out. What we appreciated the most was Larry's patience - we were there almost 5 hours in total and Larry was with us the entire time. While we waited for the Durango we wanted to see arrive from the other dealership, Larry showed us a similar vehicle already on-site, let us test drive it, answered a slew of questions, and even showed us a couple other cars that we briefly considered as an alternative. The other aspect of our experience with Larry that really stuck out was his approach. He was very honest and sincere and we never felt like we were being misled. That meant a lot to us. Overall, we felt like we had a very good experience and plan to return to Sam Leman the next time we are in the market for a new vehicle. P.S. We have been using their service department for our other vehicle (also a Dodge) for several years now and have always had a great experience. That is a big reason why we went there to purchase our newest car.

I came into the dealership the other day with my wife to trade in our old van and upgrade. It was a super cold day and we were freezing as we walked in from the cold. It was very busy at the dealer and we walked in and started looking around. At first we wondered who was going to help us. No one greeted at the front door. This is when Peat introduced himself. I went to Sam Leman in Peoria, my sales associate was Andrew. Amazing salesman! Very personal, professional and attentive to my needs as a buyer. He put me in a great Jeep Wrangler at a price well below what they were asking. We signed the contract and were on our way home. The next morning I got a dreaded call from my boss, I had just been laid off for the next six months. Now everybody knows once the contract is signed, that's it it's yours. But not in this case, I expressed that we wanted to bring it back and possibly void the deal. Now being a business thathas already exceeded my expectations, the manager decided to let me out of the contract all together and they didn't have to. We had JengYuan Yu as our sales specialist, he was very professional..We had been in the day before looking and my husband test drove a truck that had the service engine light on and a salesman by the name of John refused to have the service department check it out. JengYuan called the next day and I told him what had happen and he had it tested right away, seems all it needed was to be reset. Jengyuan mentioned that he had a Trailblazer in our price range, went out to see it and my husband spotted a Ranger he liked, Long story short we bought the Ranger and Jengyuan made everything so easy. Very friendly, and helpful. The finance department personal was all so very professional, he made sure we understood everything we were signing.

We recently bought a used suburban from Sam Leman's. 1. We told them when we decided to purchase it how we wanted the title. They did not listen and we had to retitle when we finally got the title, costing us an extra $25. If they had listened that charge could have been avoided! 2. We were asked to pay the sales tax ourselves so they would not have to go thru all the extra paperwork, as we lived in Iowa. That was no problem. The day we got the vehicle, they told us they would have to mail us the title - ?????? - we had just given them a check for the full amount. They told us the title would mailed to us and we would receive it in a couple day. It took 3 weeks!- We called several times and was given different dates that it had been mailed. Guess what it showed up - Overnight FedEx - with a post it note saying sorry! No phone call or anything! What customer service! We even had to pay an extra $10 to have a drive-away license put on the vehicle, when we saved them the paperwork of the sales tax in Iowa. Now the windshield washers are froze up - as they must not have had the correct washer fluid. We had asked if we need to check antifreeze level as the vehicle came from Hawaii - they assured us the vehicle had been checked over!

We told the salesman we wanted a new van with all the extras. The first van he put us in had nothing. My husband made it quite clear we wanted Bluetooth built into the radio and we didn't get a van with it we didn't want it. He showed us another van and said it had everything. We bought the van. It was late on a sat night so he didn't have time to show us anything but said if we had problems we could bring it back when we came back the next week to have the front license plate holder put on and get the other set of keys. We got it home and could not get my phone to pair with the Bluetooth ( there is a phone sign on the radio ). I called him and he said someone would do it when we came up. To technicians looked at it and tried to pair them. Then the second one said my van didn't have Bluetooth. We were every unhappy. The salesman said he would talk to the manager and get back to us. We never heard anything back. After a few day I kept calling and leaving messages on the salesman voice mail. After not hearing anything for almost a month I called and left message for the manager. He never called me back but the salesman did. He set up an apt. to get it fixed said they were paying for it. Then an hour later called back and said he cancelled the apt. They would not pay for it . He said he felt bad because they told him the van had Bluetooth so he thought it did, so he was going to buy me something from radio shack to put on my sun vizier . If I wanted that I would have kept driving my old van and went and got on of those and I wouldn't have a van payment. NOT HAPPY AT ALL.

When we were looking at the vans we made it very clear we wanted the Bluetooth for the phone. When the salesmen took us to one to test drive it did not have the Bluetooth. My husband told him to forget it we dint want the van we were in because it didn't have it. The sales man had us test dive it any way said they all drive the same. We told him we wanted to buy a 2015 Dodge caravan and we had to have the Bluetooth. He found us a van said it had the Bluetooth, and there is a phone sign on the radio. When I got it home I tried to pair the radio and my cell phone. It would not work I called the salesman and he told me to bring it in and they would do it. I took it in and two different technicians looked at it and tried to get it to work. The second one was the one that figured out we didn't have it. The salesman told me he was going to talk to a manager to get it hooked up. I called the man for a mouth and always got put to his voice mail. I decided to called the manager myself. He didn't return my call but the salesman did. I was told there was nothing they could do. He told me you could get me something from radio shack to put in my new van. I am very upset. I had a older Dodge Caravan that runs great that I could of done that to .I wanted a new one that had it built in. The salesman was very nice I just think he had no clue about the Bluetooth and said it had it. Their customer service s*cks.

Pito Diaz-Baltazar (Please forgive my spelling if it is incorrect) made my selection and buying experience amazing from start to finish. He was was not about to talk me into a car he knew I didn't want, as I had experienced at other dealers. And believe me, with a small budget like mine, I offered him a challenge. As a single woman, I feel like I walk into a dealership with a target painted on my head, but Pito did all he could to explain every aspect of the test drive...what to look for, etc..., and buying process. He completely eliminated that "target" feeling I had. feel like I got the best deal for the money I had to work with and I owe it all to him. This man deserves a promotion! : ) The ONLY reason my buying process didn't rate five stars was because I happened to show up on one of the busiest days, as they were having a sale event so I had to wait for about an hour in their customer waiting room before signing my paperwork. If it weren't for that, my experience would have been PERFECT. Thank you Sam Leman, and thank you Pito!

Do NOT take your car here to have repairs done they are "qualified" specialist that cant hear a grinding noise in the steering that i can hear over the radio. They did an alignment that i didnt ask for and now my car pulls to the side but when i have them drive it they dont find anything wrong. I have taken my car back there three times to fix it and each time it comes back with more problems. 750 dollars later and no fixed car so taking it somewhere else

Zac Evans was very helpful.I have been to several dealerships when purchasing previously and within the last couple of months and I have not found anyone that was more helpful and customer friendly as Zac. He is a salesman, but he is also an understanding person. You do not find many Sales Associates like Zac. I had originally said I would never shop at Sam Leman with a past experience, however Zac changed my mind. He was suggestive but not pushy. He showed several vehicles as I explained what price I was looking for. I test drove a 2007 Pontiac Torrent as the previous vehicle he showed was already out with someone. When we came back I decided on the Torrent but then had a change of mind. He was there to help without trying to get THE sale. He was very pleasant to talk with. He made the truck buying experience feel less business then it typically feels. He also made it so we got the vehicle the very next day transporting it 3 hours both ways. I Just recently purchased a 2013 Ram 1500. I was very uneasy about trading my Ford F150 in, however I was not getting the gas mileage that I expected out of it when I purchased it. Bryon worked with me for over a week picking out the right truck and was very concerned that I had a truck that was getting 12 mpg while pulling my trailer. He was also very Easy to work with when it came to up fitting my Laramie. My fiance and i bought a 2004 BMW from Sam leman in Peoria il and let me just start by saying WE SO DISCUSSED !! we haven't even had our vehicle a month and its a complete disappointment. before we even left the lot with the car the windshield fluid was not working properly i said something to one of the worker and surprise he said oh youre just doing it wrong so i said well show me he did but to his surprise he didn't know how to fix it either so of course he said we should make an appt and have it looked which this should of been looked at before it was even put on the lot. so we took it to get looked and come to find out the part it needed for the fluid to even come out was completely gone so the BMW was leaking fluid this whole time which i am not sure how they didn't notice. well that's just to start slowly things started happening and mind you its only been two weeks at this point. well that's just the beginning, the oil dip stick was caked in rust which goes to show they didn't even check the oil before putting it out. also the power steering fluid was completely black when its suppose to be Red. this is routine maintenance that was not done before sale was attempted or let alone completed. NEXT the check engine light came on because the air/gas mix is too lean causing the exhaust pipe to rattle. UNACCEPTABLE. couldn't be more dissatisfied. Something should be done about this and nothing is so we will not be quiet about our experience with Sam leman. we are going to be putting this on FACEBOOK in the newspapers everywhere. i want it to be known what happened to us so it doesnt happen to anyone else. we will NEVER BE BACK

I purchased our Mazda last November. Within a few months the paint on the front bumper started to peel off. I was told it was from a bad paint job from the minor accident it was in before I purchased the car. We were aware of the minor accident, but assured by the salesperson that it was in mint condition, and to his defense you couldn't see any issues at that time. My issue came when I asked the dealership for assistance with fixing this problem. They said they couldn't help me because they didn't do the paint job. It wasn't until I spoke with the GM that he suggested calling the previous owner to see if the paint job was still under warranty. The salesperson that sold me the car told me he tried to contact the previous owner and that his voicemail was of course full and he couldn't leave a message. Seems odd that it's still full four months later. Also, the sales person said he prefers to do business in text messaging, so he would be communicating with me that way. Problem still obviously not resolved. It wasn't their issue to fix, but they sure didn't try to assist me and stand by their product, and what professional does business through text messaging? We are now trying to get rid of the vehicle because we need something bigger to accomodate our growing family. I went in six weeks ago today to sign the paper work to cancel the extended warranty we purchased. I went the first time on 7/2/13 and was told there was a long wait. I said i would be happy to come back and tried to make an appointment. They of course don't make appointments for this type of issue, so i was told to try and come right when the finance person arrives and just be first in line. When i did come back the next morning to sign the documents, I was told while there it would take 4-6 weeks to get the refund, and then they of course tried to sell me a car. Today has been six weeks and when i called the warranty company, they informed me that Sam Leman never sent them my cancellation. I just got off of the phone with Sam Leman and they don't even have my paperwork. I was just assured that it will be back dated and sent over, then rused off of the phone without even an apology.

I dropped my pt cruiser off on a Monday at 8:30 am to be fixed. I was told my car would be ready that following wed. It wasn' t!!! Then they told me it would be fixed that friday. It wasn't!!! Then I was told the next following Monday. And today is Monday and it isn' t!!!!! It's been 7 business days. I haven't been offered a loaner. I've received the run around and poor service from the staff. Including the receptionist when I ased to be connected to the gm. Overall they take forever and fix your vehicle at their convenience!!! The customer service is very poor and they get smart with you as if your not paying for your vehicle. The gm is always on vacation. If you need your vehicle fixed. Take it to to another chysler dealership!!!!!!!!!

I'm not one to bash people, but my experience went so poorly I felt it necessary to put it on here so that the truth be out there. I found a car I loved and wanted it badly so I sat down and made a deal with a salesman. After 4 days of back and forth arguing with them, I bought the car only because I loved it, they didn't wash it, give me any gas, I got 1 set of keys and they refused to order me another set (also failed to tell me there was only 1 set), its missing a piece in the back that I was told was in service (they claim they can't find it and refused to order another one because "there's no room in this deal to make you happy." About the only thing I can say is thanks for having the car on your lot. Other than that, thanks for nothing. I've never been so insulted in my life.

Jeff Gilles found a Grand Cherokee that worked for me. At first I wanted one with a Hemi but the payments were to high. I came back 10 days later and he suggested the v6. He took me on a demo drive and I said this is plenty of power for me. Jeff asked if this one will work and I said yes it will. Now iam in a 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee and happy as can be!! Customer service improvement: When you buy a car, don't nickel and dime me. Fill up the tank all the way. little things like that are what bring people back. I had a '93 pontiac grand am that was constantly having problems & finally one day i got a call from the shop saying it would be a $2000 fix this time & that it was time to really decide what i was going to do. I called my dad, got ahold of Jeff, & the same day we were out at Sam Leman. Jeff hooked me up with a nice, reliable, used 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt. He made sure it was something i could afford & i drove off with it the same day. Jeff knows what hes talking about & is definitely someone i would go back to. If you're looking for a new or used car, hes your guy!

Jeff Gilles saw me pulling away from the lot on Saturday. He quickly ran up to my truck to see if I needed help. I told him I was looking at the Challenger. He told me to pull in the parking spot and he would go grab the keys so I could see it. I never met a Sales person with so much energy. We went on a test drive he went over everything on the vehicle. Very professional and respectfull. Anyway to make the story short I ended up buying the car! I would recommend Jeff to anyone ! HOw H.

Ryan Gaines got our email about wanting 2 avengers in the black top. We had to test drive the car first. When we got done we both knew what we wanted on our cars, not quite the same but looks the same. They finally located the car that we wanted, many miles away but we got them both just the way we wanted.. Great to have matching cars, glad he could get what we were looking for.
