Got our new car here from John Bresley. He was a very helpful and great salesman. If you are looking to get a new or used car, I would go see him. Edit- After purchasing the car we had noticed that the pan cover under the car was shattered. They replaced it and some of it was held up by zip ties. Now the car is making a knocking sound only 2 years later. We will see how they handle this.

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP. They will sell you a $17,000.00 vehicle, that you take back next day and the salesman Pat tells me noise is from it sitting on lot too long and it needs new tires. So i get brand new tires still has noise while accelerating and turning left, so i call to see about having it looked at and service department tells me it will cost me $135.00 per hour for diagnostic check??? I have only had vehicle a month. I'm pretty sure its a suspension issue which it had at time of purchase and i was lied to.

My husband and I have been accustomed to purchasing Program Cars over a period of many years. Ed is now 88 and I am 78. While traveling in Florida one summer with my daughter, we rented a Hyundai Sonata that Julie and I both enjoyed. So, when my husband and I decided recently that we should purchase a new car rather than a Program Car, I suggested that we look at a Hyundai Sonata. We had the best luck by dealing with John King, a wonderful, experienced car salesman of 23 years at the Schimmer's Hyundai, Ford and Lincoln Dealership in a neighboring town . We purchased Nouveau Blue, Sport Model Hyundai Sonata from John September 18, 2015, and could not be more satisfied with our beautiful, new car. The car has so manyconvenient features that we both enjoy and use frequently. I have often said to my husband, "The South Korean Hyundai car inventors think of everything!" We both appreciate the adjustable steering wheel, the large door ease of closing with two handles on each door plus, one handle above the front doors, the spacious front windshield + the two spacious front windshields, all of the electronic advantages, separate passenger heat and cooling controls, the GPS . LED 8 inch screen, and the PM lights on the outside door handles. We highly recommend a Hyundai Sonata Sport car to even older people for comfort, safety, driving ease and enjoyment. The oil was changed and the tires were rotated. It was discovered we had locking lugs on wheels and the wrench was not in car at time of sale so lugs were replaced with regular lugs and was told to get a lug wrench at earliest convenience. Then they did a complimentary car wash. Everyone was very friendly especially Dan.

We were having paint issues with our vehicle which Hyundai would not cover because it was out of warranty. Realizing how unhappy we were with the situation, the sales staff went out of their way to work out a deal with us on a vehicle from their inventory which we would be happy with. All great except that after I bought the car we noticed a rattling sound and when I called the service department in Mendota they stated the are completely closed for remodeling and painting so I have to wait a week. Also, the floor matts were missing and the paperwork states they are included. But I know it may have been an accident. They gave me a $25 gas bouts that was awesome!

My only suggestion would be to have designated parking for cars coming in for service. I asked where to park and was told anywhere you can find a place. To me it was a rather flip answer. Designated places equal to the number of work bays for drop off and a couple for pick up & color code the parking stripes. This would make it easier for customers to know exactly where to park and where to pick up their car after service.

We recently traded in our 2013 Explorer for a 2016 Explorer. The sales rep, John King, was very helpful in keeping us informed of the progress of delivery. He even brought us the car to see the evening before we bought it. He accommodated my physical limitations at the dealership when we signed all the paper work, etc., explaining the various new features, programmed both of our phones, etc. The account person even came over to the salesman's desk to finish up the paperwork so I didn't have to walk to his office. We look forward to having our new vehicle's maintenance performed at this dealership.

I brought my 2015 Hyundai Sonata in for an oil change and I had a question about the gas gauge.The gauge, when reading less that 1/8 of a tank, seems to be off. The amount of gas required to fill the tank is between 12 and 13 gallons and it should take closer to 16.5 gallons. I was told that this was somewhat of a "safety" feature to insure that the car does not run out of gas. I am not sure why this needs to be this way in this day and age. I would rather have an accurate gas gauge.

I have purchased nearly 50 cars in the 25 years I have been driving. Some from private owners and some from a dealer. Naturally I want the most vehicle for the least money. We have always been satisfied with the value of our trade with Schimmer. I have been primarily a Ford owner, our first NEW car was a 2007 Mustang GT from Schimmer. This purchase was a new Hyundai Elantra. Since our first NEW car my wife and I have purchased a few more new cars from Schimmer as well. I have been to MANY dealerships over the years, bought from a few if it was the right car at the right price, but I can say without a doubt the most relaxing, easy purchases I have made are with the Schimmer Ford store in Peru. As usual, the service was top notch. It concerned a recall, which Schimmer notified me immediately. An appointment was scheduled-for my convenience-and the work was done on time and I received my car-a 2013 SantaFe Sport-when it was expected. I never have a problem with the Schimmer service department and always feel confident the work will be satisfactorily addressed, which it always is. I never have a complaint when it comes to Schimmer.

I brought my Sonata Limited to have its 20K service done. The Schimmer service group not only did that servicing in a time interval exceeding my expectations, but they investigated a question I had on the navigation system returning an answer which explained the situation and promised a remedy would be coming from Hyundai soon. Very satisfied with the service. Of course, that is the reason I chose to purchase my car there.

The only problem I had was with how long it took from walking in the door, until I signed my papers. I had already told my salesperson that I was writing a personal check, and we still ended up being in the dealership for over three hours. That is unacceptable. While we test drove the new car, the service dept should have been looking at the old car to appraise it and get us rolling with the new car. My salesperson was awesome - not pushy in any way. I would absolutely send more people to her in the future. Just work on the timely-ness and everything would be great!

We purchased a 2013 ford edge. We love the car. There was a mix up with the sticker being incorrect so some of the options we thought we were getting were not on the car. That is a disappointment. We wanted the power lift gate and the website listed it on the sticker but it turned out to not be correct. ThAt is the only issue we had. Big John was a no pressure salesman and even delivered the car to me at work! We will return when we need a car.

Lincoln MKZ. The staff was very friendly but I don't feel they were prepared for us when we picked the car up. Purchased on a Thursday evening and was not picking up til Saturday afternoon. Paperwork was not ready for us and had to wait. Had to drive home 2 1/2 hours and they said they would gas it up. Drove 20 miles and had to get gas. Still waiting to hear on the second set of keys. Oil change light was on when we picked it up and now have to make arrangements to have it reset. Staff friendly but not very organized.

On October 11th, I visited Schmimmer Ford in Peru and test drove several different cars and had a million questions. I am pretty sure I occupied most of John King's day, he was very patient with me and really listened to what was important to me in a car. Monday I visited the dealership and let him know I was interested in a 2015 Ford Fusion. The color of the car I wanted was not available at the dealership but he was able to find one at another dealership and had the car for me the next day. I purchased my last vehicle through John and will definetly be back to purchase any future cars with John. I also would like to mention how helpful Jeff was in finance, I originally planned on getting my car loan through my credit union but he was able to provide me with a better rate from another bank. Also, he had prepared for me different options for extended warranty. Normally I would not purchase an extended warranty but after listening to him and the different options he prepared for my car, I was sold. Now I have piece of mind for the next 6 years that my car is covered bumper to bumper.

I recently was in need of a new car. After much online shopping, I narrowed down my search to wanting a Ford sedan. After scouring several dealerships in the county, I began my process of finding "my" car. After speaking to several sales reps from different dealerships, Shannon Talley from Schimmer was far and above the most knowledgeable, as well as the most helpful. She took the time and effort to understand my needs and wants. She wasn't worried about pushing features I didn't want or need, but listened to my concerns, and assisted me in finding the right car for me. The best thing - I got more car for the money than I could have gotten anywhere else, and I felt like I was being treated like part of the family. Many of the other dealerships I visited here more high pressure, and acted like they were doing me a favor by letting me shop there. Not at Schimmer... there's a reason I've been shopping there since 1999. It's great service and patience from sales reps like Shannon. You have a customer for life!

Greg Loebach was extremely helpful in finding the perfect car for us. Greg was very knowledgable and made the process smooth. We were also happy that we found a car at Schimmer, since they had generously donated to L-P HighSchool through the "Drive 4 UR School" fundraiser that our daughter was involved in. What a wonderful asset to our community!

April was there at the door waiting for us like she knew we were coming!! She went above and beyond her job and still has even long after the sale. She was very up beat and very positive, that makes all the difference in the world! Sales needs more people like herself to make the deal and there was no funny business, just pure honesty. My husband and I went to Schimmer to deal with Shannon specifically and we walked away with what we wanted with very little hassle. I will continue to use Schimmer in the future as long as Shannon is there. If she leaves I will follow her to the next stop. She is a great salesperson who does everything she can for her client. She made the process much easier to deal with and will continue to be successful in the future.

I have been dealing with Schimmer since the late 60's and before with my father, starting with Harry then Don. Have always done well with the family, Schimmer. Our latest person who has been there with help with any situation has been Shannon Talley. Very personable. Service has always been top notch.

I had been shopping online for a used truck and came across one that appeared to be in great condition and an excellent deal. The only problem was the distance(800 miles) since I planned on trading (2) vehicles. I looked at a LOT of trucks online and at local dealerships but kept going back to the one at Shimmers, so I called and spoke to Shannon in sales. To make a long story short, we worked out a deal contingent on each of our descriptions of our vehicles and I then made the 800 mile road trip to bring the (2) vehicles to trade. I was very impressed when I arrived as the truck was even better than Shannon had described. She and her manager had bent over backwards to ensure that I felt comfortable with the condition of the truck before I committed to such a long trip, by taking and sending additional photographs and providing historical information about the vehicle. The atmosphere created by all of the staff/management that I encountered served to make this the most pleasant experience that I've ever had when purchasing a vehicle. There was absolutely none of the negatives normally associated with car purchases. Thanks again Shannon and the rest of the team for proving that some car dealerships really do care.
