My wife and I were in search for a SUV we looked at the Pilot but wanted to see the Highlander. In my opinion the Highlander interior blows the Pilot out of the water. We sat down with Mike Siemon told him what we wanted, did the numbers and the price was lower then we expected. At Honda the sales man got up numerous times to talk to manager just to get numbers in the ball park. Also don't forget the extras free life time NY state inspections and 2 year free oil changes. If your shopping for a car make sure you stop at Smithtown Toyota

Just had my 1 year scheduled service done on my Camry. This was included with the free Toyota care.Very professional and efficient, total time spent at the dealer was 45 minutes.Had the same service done on my wifes Chevy Tahoe, also under the free maintenance schedule. Almost 3 hrs for an oil change at Smithtown Chevy. What a difference at Smithtown Toyota.

Mike is very knowledgeable, helpful, friendly, and a good listener As I was interested in the Prius, he asked questions about my driving, what I liked, etc.. and explained and showed me the Prius models, and their differences as we tried to find a fit. During the test drive, as I drove, he showed and explained how the Prius works and I was sold on the car. I also think he helped with getting a good value for my trade-in, and by the end of the day I knew exactly what Prius model and options I wanted.Thank you Mike.Meghan is very knowledgeable, helpful, friendly and detail oriented. As I informed Meghan of the Prius Model and options I wanted she indicated it was not immediately available and since it was the end of model year it needed to be located and would require more time. I dealt with Mike last weekend while shopping for a Prius. While my husband and I were at his desk Mike was funny and personable, he seemed to be good at his job and was interested in getting me what I wanted. As soon as we went outside to compare colors and I told him "I need to sleep on it" his personality changed. He threw his hands up in the air, grunted, and walked away from us. So you're only nice when you think you're sealing the deal?! Mike made me feel very uncomfortable and pressured. I don't know about you but buying a car is an investment for me, something that costs a lot of money and something I spend a significant amount of time in, it should be exactly what you want. After dealing with Mike we decided we were done with Smithtown Toyota. The next day we went to Sunrise Toyota and bought the car I wanted, in the color I wanted, for $10 less a month than Mike was offering. I wasn't lying when I said "I need to sleep on it" and Mike would have had a deal had he not acted like a child. Good customer service goes a long way and Mike you do not have it. I would not shop here again or recommend this dealer to a friend. The only thing that makes me want to give a few extra stars is the manager whose name I cannot recall, I wish we would have dealt with him the whole time instead of Mike.

I purchased not one but two cars and still got a run around! I ordered a tonneau cover for my new car through my dealer.I made an appointment to have it installed, only two minutes according to service. A very polite fellow in service said something doesn't look right for installation so we went to next building, still no clue or instructions on how to install. We went to main service building. The service manager looked very baffled. They pull another prius c to check and the service manager tells me my model doesn't have built-in shelves for tonneau cover...after an hour and a half ( my two minute deal). He then tells me " I don't know what kind of salesman you got this from but you should go to them". Really, as I pointed to the sales showroom next door. I go to my salesman that tells me "wow, really, I didn't know". No one offered suggestion or switch rear interior or anything for that matter. Of course not, he already had 2 sales from me. And to think I was going to trade in a car and get another one. Not from here!

I'm extremely happy with the service. My salesman spent a huge portion of his busy day to help me decide exactly what truck with exactly what features I wanted. This wasn't an easy task but the salesman showed me a number of vehicles so I could determine the exact configuration truck I wanted. I was shown every feature and accessory in the vehicle by the salesman personally and thoroughly explained every detail about every piece of paperwork that came with the vehicle. I have never seen such exemplary service at any other dealer before. I could not think of one negative comments to give this dealer or salesman.

This is the 3rd Toyota Truck we bought the past 3 years, each time after checking out a few other dealers in the area just for due diligence, we always end up back at Smithtown Toyota. There is a difference between dealerships that employ sales professionals versus other dealers that will low ball you on trade in, purchase price and/or financing any chance they get. Smithtown Toyota employs sales professionals that are knowledgeable and have integrity. I appreciate a good salesman having done sales myself, and can tell when smoke is being blown up my rear, and honestly I don't have patience for shady sales tactics. Don't waste your time going to other Toyota dealers, and trust me, there are quite a few dealers on Long Island that I wouldn't ever step foot into again, go right down to Smithtown Toyota and ask for Ben or Sean, they are both very good. The manager, Guy, was friendly, down to earth and helped tremendously as well. Diego in the Finance Dept got the financing we wanted and we all went home happy. All in all, happy with our new Tacoma and experience, 3rd Toyota Truck in 3 years, will next year be 4?

Bought my new 2014 Sienna at Smithtown Toyota back in April 2014. Have been going to them every 5000 miles for the planned maintenance. People there are the most polite courteous and knowledgeable staff out of all other dealerships. I live over 50 miles away and I will never take it anywhere else for service or to purchase a new vehicle but only at Smithtown Toyota. When I do bring it in for service. Sean who is the assistant manager is one of the best there. But at the same time all entire staff are also. It's always a pleasure being there. I like very much that when you call to make an appointment that you receive an email confirming your appointment time and date. The service waiting room is clean and comfortable while you wait having your vehicle serviced. They also have free coffee and cookies for you while you wait. After you take your vehicle home you get an email from Smithtown Toyota asking how they did and if you're satisfied with the maintenance of your vehicle. I bought my Sienna here in 2009 and never forgot the experience. When my current car (non-Toyota) had yet another problem, I knew it was time to purchase a new vehicle. I called and spoke with Liana Opatowski on Saturday. She patiently answered my zillion questions over the course of an hour. As she was not going to be in the next day, I asked her who she recommended I speak with; she mentioned Keith Williams. Keith was professional and equally patient. We had a deal in place almost immediately as we had the same information and research yet Keith acted like the gentleman he is. Jim Montgomery astutely handled the paperwork and Sales Manager Mark Schwartz helped answer final questions. This is my first time purchasing a vehicle from Smithtown Toyota and I must say the experience was refreshing. I've been a consistent Toyota owner since I was 16 years old and I've been to many Toyota dealers in my time from Lee's Toyota, Huntington, Milleimum, Bayside, and the list can go on. My experience with these prior dealers left me feeling jaded and "on-guard" when looking for another new car. I started my search for a new Toyota online through Truecar.com and Smithtown Toyota came up as a good starting point. I already knew the make and model of the car I wanted, a 2017 Sienna XLE, and I called up the sales department to see what inventory they had in stock. I was lucky enough to get Ben Zimmet as my salesman. We started discussing my wants and needs over the phone as physically making it into the dealership was difficult for me due to the distance of the dealership and childcare. Ben was extremely patient and knowledgeable. He didn't brush me off as someone who really wasn't serious about wanting a car. He took the time to answer all of my questions and he didn't try to sell me something that wouldn't be a good fit for my situation. Ben and I communicated via phone most of the day, with a respectful and polite back and forth negotiation. There was absolutely no pressure. I wanted zero percent financing and although the current incentives from Toyota or the dealership weren't offering them at the time Ben pushed to make it happen at zero percent. Ben was able to give me the exact make, model, color, interior that I wanted at fair price without the crazy "high-pressure" and "shady" sales tactics that I had gotten used to with other salesman/dealers. Ben scheduled me for a test drive the next day and answered all of my questions with great enthusiasm. A few days later when my car was ready for pick up Ben came in on his day off and spent the good part of an hour explaining to me all the features of the car and how to use some of the new "high tech" functionalities of the display and safety monitors. I also meet with Diego Rivas the Finance Manager who also was a true professional. He patiently walked me through the contract and finance agreement and he didn't try rush or aggressively "up-sell" me into any additional purchases or warranties. When I was confused about something or it didn't make sense Diego would make sure I knew what I was signing and that everything was clear before we continued. The entire process was smooth and pleasant. After purchasing the vehicle I noted that there were two cosmetic defects to my new car. I discussed the issue with Ben and the dealer who were very responsive and they are currently in the process of fixing the issues. I surprisingly really enjoyed my new car buying experience and would definitely buy again from Smithtown Toyota as long as Ben and Diego were parties to the transaction.

I recently took my car in for an oil change and maintenance inspection. This was my second time there. They told me the oil pan was starting to leak, however, it wasn't bad enough to have to be replaced. I was told the same thing after I had an oil change at another Toyota dealer over 6 years ago and was told it needed to be fixed right away...and of course, the cost was hundreds $$$. I opted not to have it done, but to get another opinion.... The same dealership also told me, after another oil change, that my car needed struts...Really, with only 40,000 miles my car...that was not bouncing around at all...needed strusts? That was the last time I went there...and went to Smithtown where I feel they are more honest.

I always leased my car from Nissan since 1995,but I felt it was time for a change. I don't know why I waited so long-the experience was so much better at TOYOTA. The salesman, Keith Williams , was terrific and was able to give me a good deal at a great price!!! When I leased from Nissan they almost always had hidden fees and costs that were not revealed till the end of the deal at which point I was pretty much committed to the sale. I was looking to buy a 2016 Prius 4 WITH a spare tire. None of the other area dealers wanted to deal with the proper installation (not just throwing a spare in your trunk taking up space!). 1st Mark was very knowledgeable about the situation and described exactly how he would handle it. Then Paul confirmed everything and matched my pricing from other dealers(not including spare) The finale was a nice salesman named Aman who handled all the details and got the car ready for me by the time I wanted. Just a great all around experience that was well handled trying to fill a customer's needs. PS I would advise anyone who is interested in driving around safely without an ineffective fix-a-flat kit instead of a real spare to get their car here. PPS if you get a sidewall flat or one of the 15% of flats that don't work with the kit you will end up needing to be towed if you don't have a spare.

The dealership presented me with a deal under which I was receiving $2,700 for my trade-in which was very attractive so I agreed. In reality, the dealership overstated the price of the vehicle I was interested in by $1,200 which means that I was only receiving $1,500 for my trade-in. That became apparent when I came to take delivery of the vehicle and was presented the contract showing a $1,200 lower vehicle price and a $1,500 trade-in value. When I asked for an explanation, I was told the sales representative was not in the dealership; I was also told that attempts had been made to contact him via phone and text, unsuccessfully. Today, I received a call from the sales representative who claimed he was not aware of the price difference and, in any case, did not have anything to do with "numbers"; he only gave me what the manager gave him...I believe that the staff at Smithtown Toyota deliberately misled me by overstating both what they were offering for my trade-in and the price of the vehicle I was interested in. . I suspect that Smithton Toyota knowingly engages in this type of misleading business practice as they more often than not do not get noticed or challenged by the customer: the fact that the sales person was nowhere to be found, allegedly would not return phone calls or texts from the dealership, the fact that the finance manager was able to present me an alternate document with the exact terms of the offer I had accepted (including the higher vehicle price), all show that this type of behavior is known by all involved and is tolerated, if not encouraged, by the management at Smithtown Toyota.

My experience was going well until it was time to pick up my car. I bought a certified used car. When I picked it up I was handed a key and half. When I asked my salesman where the pad was. He said he would look into it and call me tomorrow. 3 days go by and not a call back. I call him . He tells me he will call me tomorrow. Tomorrow cones and goes. I call the following day. He tells me the pad will cost $250 plus a programming charger which he doesn't know. I don't believe I should have to pay for a key I didn't lose!

Went there on Fathers day to see about a Camry, was the easiest time I ever had buying a car. The sales Lou Bilous was informative, understanding of my needs and a pleasure to deal with. He showed me several cars and explained the difference between each model, When it came to sitting down to discussing the price he worked with me on my trade-in, and gave me the numbers for each car I looked at. There was no pressure to buy he just laid out the numbers and let me make a dissension. I would recommend Lou to anyone looking for a car.

Probably no different at other dealers but I would not recommend trading in your vehicle. They just gave me a low ball figure on the 2011 camry, did not care that I was the original owner, had all service records, car was immaculate and they allowed $11,000 towards my new camry. They are now selling it across the street for $15,995 with their "discount" bringing it down to $14450. Come on, I expect them to make a profit, but low balling me to make this much? Not fair and really taking advantage. I am extremely pleased with the new car purchase procedure, but very unhappy with the trade in experience. Maybe it's not only this dealer, perhaps the whole industry has to rethink they way this process should work. Thanks to Ben Zimmet for the smooth sales process of my new camry.

We live on the Eastern Shore of Maryland and when our son, a Special Forces Green Beret Staff Sergeant, currently forward deployed on an ODA in Afghanistan asked us to help him find a used Toyota Tacoma; we immediately went to the USAA Car Buying Service. Although Smithtown Toyota/Scion in NY is four hours away, they had the exact vehicle that we were looking for, so we took a chance and we're so glad that we did. Sal was ready and waiting for us when we arrived and the truck looked like it had just come off the showroom floor. Throughout the purchase process he checked in with us periodically and the day after we left NY he called us to make sure that we had made it home safely. I can't say enough good things about this dealership and especially Lou Bilous. Lou spent a lot of time showing me various new and used cars. He never pressured me to buy and I felt like he really wanted to find the best car for my situation. I then worked with Lou B. who is one of the kindest, most helpful salesmen I've ever met. Guy was also incredibly helpful. I was able to turn in my Prius lease a little early and get the Tundra at an extremely fair price. On the day of pick up, everything was ready for me when I got there. It was a regular transaction. Trade in valued , deposit paid, car was to be picked up the next day.I was getting many accusations thrown at me in the finance office. It felt like an interrogation. Once I paid a deposit and signed on the dotted line, I was treated like trash. Definitely not coming back. I'll gladly spend more money elsewhere instead of coming back. The sales experience left such a bad taste in my mouth that my wife and I don't even want to come back to this place for service. I'll be taking my next purchase elsewhere.

I researched this dealer, and bought a car from them in 2008, so I was hoping for a good experience. I made my appointment with the help of AAA. It went so smoothly it was unbelievable. I worked with Meg Dwyer. She is knowledgeable and sincere, and has a great sense of humor. I brought my sister with me, and we actually had a good time! I picked up my car on 2/23, had a couple of questions since then, and Meghan was right there for me, so follow-up is great, too. The manager, Guy Albergo, is straightforward, also giving you that sense of confidence that you are dealing with people with integrity, like Meghan, and also the financial people, Diego Rivas and Mitch Sirota. I did a lot of research, and I believe I got a fair and honest price and was never doubtful, never felt like I was being cheated.

My lease on my 2013 Toyota highlander was up. Having owned and leased many Toyota's in the past I wanted something different. Not because I was unhappy with Toyota but looking for a change. I did visit other dealers but ultimately leased another Highlander (2016). I was surprised at the change in appearance and handling of the 2016. What sealed the deal was the customer service that Lou Bilous gave. I had leased my previous 2013 Highlander from him and was very happy with that experience. He is very knowledgeable and patient during the decision process. He really takes the time to make sure you are happy and gives a great tutorial before you drive away. Let's face it everyone wants the same thing when buying a car, the most of the car for the least amount of money! Every one wants to feel like they got a great deal! Well then this is the place to get your car! I walked in after numerous conversations with Greg, who basically did all the shopping for me. I told him what i was looking for , tweeked it a little and boom, there was my car. I stopped in unannounced the night before the snow storm. You could imagine, everyone else is shopping for bread and eggs and they want to get home and I walk in! That's when i met Eric Kandler. I gave him all of the homework that Greg gave me and he showed me my car! Which incidentally was bumper to bumper in the wayyyy back of the lot, in preparation for the snow. Eric and I went through the maze of cars and Eric was apologizing for the long journey until we found my car! Eric patiently waited and never once did i feel like He wanted to just get home. I ended buying that car and worked with Mitch in finance. There couldn't be any more relaxed, professional, confident team that I had! I never felt pressured, never felt rushed, not even those shady deals that go on, when they have to talk to the manager! I left tonight with , yes the car I wanted but also that great feeling of a great deal! I will tell everyone to go there, great job, oh and I love the car! My Toyota salesman of 30 years, from another dealership, recently retired. Based on the reviews from this website and others we decided on Smithtown Toyota and Lou Bilous. We met Lou about a month ago when my wife and I went in for a test drive. My wife was interested in a 2016 Rav4 Limited and he answered any and all questions that we had. At no time was there any pressure to buy/order which for me is the BIGGEST turnoff at any dealership. We agreed to return when the 2016 model showed up at the dealership. My wife and I left with a very good feeling about Lou. We returned in the middle of this month and placed a down payment on a 2016 Rav4 Limited. Lou could not have been nicer. His easy going ways made the entire process a pleasure ! My youngest daughter was with us and she was so impressed with Lou and the 2016 Rav4 that she also placed a down payment for one. We then met Diego and like Lou he couldn't have been nicer. There were no hidden charges or extra dealer fees added on except for the document fee of $75.00. Lou was able to locate the car we wanted from another dealership and on January 27th we went to pick it up. Lou went over the car in detail, again, answering all questions about its many features. We then met Stacy to go over the final paperwork. Again, no pressure at all to add additional options. She was a pleasure to deal with !So our first experience with Smithtown Toyota was a very positive one. This is the way car buying should be. Wow! Is the best way to describe the service you get from Smithtown Toyota. Benny and Stacy were amazing. My car went on fire on Monday while I was driving it. Emotional and shocked I started to hit the dealers looking for a used car. As I was not yet ready to purchase a car, I had little money and nothing to trade. I saw some used cars I liked on line at Smithtown Toyota so I went to see them with my husband. We explained to Benny that payment was going to be a big factor for us. He ran thru the options with us and showed us the differences between buying new, buying used and leasing. I never thought I would qualify for the lease which is why I never even had it as an option. My husband had also always purchased used cars his whole life. Benny went thru the payments of the leases and it fit our budget. He showed us the 2016 Corolla which was much roomier then we expected and has a high safety rating. After your car goes on fire, safety is definitely a concern... :). We left the showroom happy with our choice. Now this would of been enough for me to write this review but then we got to the dealer to pick up the car and were amazed at the service yet again. And Again I say Wow! My dad always traded his car every few years. When he got the cars home it would be my job to read thru the book and show him all of the features and set his radio stations. Benny did not just have me sign and drive like the other dealers had my dad do. Benny walked us around our new car and showed us all of the outside features. He then sat in the car with me and ran thru all of the options and showed us how to use them. We are so grateful for this service as the car has features we never had in other cars. Lots of new tech that neither of us are used to. It would of taken us a month of playing with the features to figure them all out. Great Job Benny.....Now again, this would of been enough for us, But then we sat with Stacy. She walked us thru the paperwork and explained everything we were signing for. This was my first lease so she was happy to explain. She answered all of our questions and was so pleasant about it. She did not try to rush us thru and allowed us the time to read thru the docs we were signing. Great Job Stacy....Thumbs up Toyota.... These two employees are gems in our book. They will be recommended to all of our friends and family. Looks like my husband and I are Toyota people. That dealer will definitely see us again when we trade into our next lease.... I recently purchased a 2012 Prius plug-in from Rich who made the entire process painless. Usually shopping for a car is a war that I am well versed on. The negotiations with Rich were honest and friendly. No usual sales tactics like stalling and telling us the offer was only good for the day stuff.Rich explained things great and after the sale helped move the paperwork along even though it was a busy end of month time. To Whom It May Concern:I usually dont write reviews but this time I am making an exception. Smithtowns salesperson, Rich Milano, is a special person. Yes, he offered me a great deal which at the time I didnt know. I was about to spend thousands of dollars and to me no car was worth any amount above a few thousand. To me a car is a drive to work, screaming children or a trip to me mother-in-laws. Not a place to invest thousands of my hard earned money. However, what struck me at the time of our first meeting was his friendly, warm and engaging manner. We talked about family, our common interests and my primary needs for being at the car dealership. He was able to put me at ease and get down to business. My distaste for all salespeople seemed to disappear. His ability to engender feelings of trust, honesty, professionalism and caring were relaxing me and making the experience painless as I got to know him. For those reasons, I wrote this review. I am very happy with Rich and Smithtown Toyota and will recommend them to my friends.

Went to Smithtown Toyota met with salesman Louis Bilous. He was very pleasant and helpful. The team at this Toyota dealership are wonderful. Louis took a good amount of time to explain the different cars that we were interested in. He also pick out the type of car that we would prefer the most with what we wanted in a car. He took us out for a test run and explained everything to us. He was very patient and knowledgeable about all the questions we had. Used Edmonds.com price promise. Called and spoke to salesman Greg Wire. He told me they woould honor the price.He told me care was available. I left $100.00 deposit over phone to hold car. Went to dealership. This was one of the most painless car purchases I have ever made. Smithtown gave me what I felt was a fair trade in on my old car and there was no haggling at all over the price of the new car. I would use Edmonds Price promise again. Total time to purchase the car was under an hour and 30 minutes including appraisal of my old car and signing the agreements. Picked up car two days later. Again a very quick and efficient process. there were no hidden charges or attempts to sell "additional" service or extended waranty. I would recommend Smithtown Toyota as a place to buy a car and I would recommend using Edmonds Price Promise as well.

Last August my family and I arrived for a one year stay in NY from a foreign country. After a few days of clueless searching we visited the used car department in Smithtown Toyota. Richie was the first welcoming face we saw in the car business since we arrived! Richie is a real Pro! He immediately understood our needs and suggested a car to perfectly meet our budget. He did above and beyond serving us and made us know we did the right decision. Moreover, he kindly suggested to buy the car back, after a year, when we go back home. We got a three months warranty although it was not executed. The car was great.A year has passed by and now we are certain we did the right thing!!! The car was amazing, no problem whatsoever, served us perfectly. Moreover, although we knew he will, Richie kept his word. We got a really fair offer from him to buy the car back from us and we will do so next week.Bottom line - I highly recommend Smithtown Toyota car dealership in general and Mr. Rich Milano in particular. My wife and I had been searching for a used Toyota Sienna. We had visited two other Toyota dealerships and were left frustrated with them to say the least. We had called ahead to look at a specific vehicle and were promised it was in stock, but when we got there the vehicle we called about was nowhere to be found and they were trying to sell us more expensive models or talked into buying a new one or lease. We were pretty fed up. Then we called Smithtown Toyota and asked about a specific vehicle we saw online. When we went to go look at it, not only was it actually there (already an improvement) but, it was also already pulled right up front for us to look at it. We met our salesman Rob Lamonica who you could tell right off the bat was an honest guy. After a test drive and a look through of the minivan, it was exactly what we were looking for. We negotiated a fair price and it was a done deal. I also like that there were no "hidden fees". Just vehicle price, DMV fees and tax. Straight and honest, the way it should be. The whole process was quick and easy. We came back the next day to sign paperwork with Stacey in finance who was also very good and we had keys in hand. The car was detailed and delivered just as promised. I would definitely buy from them again.Thanks again Rob!

This is my first time leasing a car or even dealing with a car dealership in general. I had been to a few different places up and down the dealership strip on Jericho the same day looking at different models but hadn't been overly impressed. I ended up at Toyota when my boyfriend reminded me about the RAV4. The dealership itself is rather small and cramped but not bad. We were soon greeted by Jack and he was incredibly helpful. He went over everything about the car, even stuff I hadn't thought of asking. He made the experience really easy and smooth and after the test drive I was sold. My only downside isn't about John, but about the dealership itself (which was why . They weren't the best at relaying the information. In fact, when they called me to let me know my car was in I was rather surprised because I wasn't informed I'd even been approved. I had to call back twice to figure out where to make payments and such. I also never got the survey they talked about, which is why I'm doing this one. Apparently the finance manager never knew about my trade-in so that was another hurdle when I arrived. I also felt on the day I was picking up my lease that the manager (I'm assuming) who appraised my car spoke down to me because I am a young woman who had her father with her. My dad wanted to see the car since it is my first big purchase on my own, simple as that. There was no need for the fake smiles and fake reassurance. Overall would I recommend Smithtown Toyota to someone else? Yes, but I would direct them straight to Jack.

I appreciate the long hours and availability of the staff. The staff is very hard working. I purchased a 2013 Corolla. My husband and I move to long island recently and decided to purchase two Toyotas for transportation. Richard is very professional and helped us in every aspect about our purchasing at Toyota Smithtown. He made the whole process go smoothly, including but not limited to helping us to get plates, loans, insurance, etc. For example, when I wanted to add a reversing sonar system to my car, he found the color of the system is black, while my new car is white, so when I got my car, the sonar system on back of the car had been painted white already! These are the sixth Toyotas we purchased from our salesman, Paul Varandas, and we're supported during the process by business manager, Stacy Meehan. They have always treated us well, never exerted pressure on us in any way. We have always done our homework before going in to the showroom, so we know what a good deal looks like. And we have always been able able to get the price we wanted without constant haggling. Go over the option, bells and whistle, how long it will take the car to be deliver. He followed up via email and provided me information when will I get the car. Having the Vin #, made me comfortable and aware that the car is being build. Very recommendable person, even-though I keep on texting and emailed him on the status of the car from production line to railtruck thru trailer up to delivery to there dealers parking lot. My family and I have had many horrible experiences with car dealerships over the last several years. I decided only to visit dealerships who were accredited by the Better Business Bureau and had an A (or higher) rating. I was looking for a small SUV/crossover of a few different makes. The Honda CRV, Hyundai Tuscan, Mazda CX5, and RAV4 were among the list of cars to check out. I was treated mostly like a business deal with each car salesman. In typical fashion, they pushed me to make a decision that day even though I came in explaining I needed time to do research and would not make any impulsive,under-educated decisions. And big surprise when I had to get home from dinner and it was time for me to leave, out came the finance manager for more high pressure sales tactics. No one seemed to have my best interest in mind, instead I was a dollar sign and half the time they weren't even listening to what I actually said. Then my experience changed when I met with Paul at Smithtown Toyota. Paul lsitened to all my needs and noted the terms of which I wanted to finance the car I was looking to buy. I could talk about the car and the test drive but obviously a new 2105 RAV4 runs great and I felt like a princess with all the upgrades compared to my 2008 trade in. The car is not why I bought from this dealership. After the test drive, Paul ran the numbers. They came out a bit higher than what I hoped to finance, but hey, I wanted a brand new car with some upgrades. In comparison to the other dealerships (and the equivalent small SUV/crossover of their make) they were extremely competitive. A this point I needed some time to go home and think about the finances. Paul didn't badger me and waste another 30 minutes of my time, he didn't bring out the sales manager to pressure me into buying that day, and he didn't treat me nastily because I was leaving. I know this sounds ridiculous but unfortunately that was the tone as I left several other dealerships that week. Thank you Paul for treating me like a human! Paul shook my hand and let me leave with all the material I needed to make my decision...and this I why I came back. A month later I returned to Smithtown Toyota and this time I was ready to buy. I couldn't think of anyone I would have rather give my business to than Paul, someone who was looking out for my best interest (and had 18 years working for this company). When I came back Paul still recognized all the number he had originally given me. I picked out the final details and had to run home to get the title for my trade-in while they prepared the car. Knowing that paperwork time is when most customer (especially young females like myself) get taken advantage of in the car buying process I brought my dad back with me. You should know my father is notorious for flipping out at dealerships as this point because all the sudden the numbers change and we've have to walk out without a car in the past. My father and I sat down with Mitch, a manager, to fill out all the paperwork. I was shocked, all of the number were exactly as Paul had promised. Same trade in value (which was higher than most other quotes), same $/month, same length of term, same finance rate (which end up even lower than what I anticipated). The paperwork all went smoothly and I was able to drive home in my new car that night. Mitch and Paul stayed late on Saturday to make sure I had that opportunity. Thank you so much to the crew at Smithtown Toyota. This is the most pleasant car buying experience I have ever had and even my Dad was impressed. I love my 2015 RAV4 and I will absolutely be recommending you!

Okay so here is the update and I must say it is worth letting people know that of the two dealerships in the area that Smithtown Toyota is leaps and bounds above the other which I will not name. The process of buying my new Prius with them was quick easy painless and done with integrity. I had originally shopped three dealers and got a price that I was comfortable with. I went to Smithtown told them that was my number which was a steal according to my research (lets remember they have to make a few dollars) and let them know. There was no back and forth and I was told upfront all of the costs before I signed. Oh BTW they did not throw on any hidden fees or the other BS that I was getting at the other dealership in the area. Rich was pure class and I would buy another car from him in a heartbeat. In fact I am looking at buying a used car from him for my wife. Thanks guys it was a pleasure dealing with a dealer with some integrity!!!!!

I put in a review around 6 months ago about my finding a piece of bagel under the hood of our brand new Avalon. In that review, I expressed my disappointment over the fact that a piece of bagel was found stuck under the engine which according to the technician was causing the rattling sound. That was 6 months ago and the dealer sent us some free car wash vouchers to "make up" for that oversight.Last month (around Labor day), I brought in the car for the 10K mile maintenance service. I was surprised to find another piece of bagel under the hood when I cleaned the car over the weekend. I'm pretty sure that it was left there when I brought it in for the service because I found it in a conspicuous area. I would have noticed that when I first if it was from the time we first got that car.Which begs the question ... "what's with this dealer and bagels"? It sounds ridiculous but it really shows how little they put into quality control.#ihatebagelsunderthehood

After a not so great experience at two eastern Long Island dealerships-I was beginning to lose hope that I would be able to purchase a vehicle that I could afford yet fit my criteria.After a few days doing an extensive internet search for a Toyota Tacoma- I found that there was a dealership in Smithown that had one that met my all my needs ( which wasn't easy)I made a phone call and was directed to salesman Ron Borgese. I immediately felt at ease on the phone with Ron, who said he would be there late that evening if I wanted to take the long journey west to see the truck.. He insured me that indeed the truck I saw on the website was the one I would be coming out to see. ( not what I experienced at another dealership that I had worked with previously)I test drove the truck, it was perfect for me. Ron was genuine all around nice guy. Easy to work with, no pressure, and helped to get me some extras above a beyond the great deal.This story has a happy ending! I loved the truck, loved Ron, loved the service received from everyone over a Smithown Toyota.I drove away to head back east. As I entered Riverhead in my shiny perfect black Tacamo pickup I thought how wonderful my experience in Smithown was and just smiled.

Our salesman, Louis Bilous, came highly recommended. We drove from South Western Nassau County out to Smithtown, because he was so highly recommended. He was patient and answered many questions, showing us several different vehicles and explaining the various features of each one. We finally decided on the Rav4 and he went through the different options of buying/leasing and the various promotions Toyota was offering. We were contacted in early January by Kerri Cordova, a Client Care Representative after we had visited the Smithtown website. We advised her to contact us again in March which she did. After we brought home our brand new Avalon last Aug 2013, I found a piece of hardened bagel on top of the engine under the hood. It was disappointing. However, we just brushed it aside thinking it was an oversight.Fast forward to April 2014. We brought back the Avalon to the dealer because we got fed up with a rattling sound somewhere. We could not pin point where it is coming from. According to the Technician's report, they removed a stale/hardened bread stuck on a shield. This reflects poor quality control on the part of the dealer.

My wife and I had been shopping around for a car for months. Our lease was due up soon and we knew we did not want to purchase the car or go anywhere near those shark infested waters of a dealership we got our lease from. After visiting multiple dealerships and going through an abundance of vehicles we decided to settle on a 2011 Sienna. The problem was finding a good dealer, an honest dealer to which I asked a question: Is there anything such as an honest car dealer anymore? The answer is Yes there is.I was looking around online at Car Gurus and happen to stumble onto a 2011 Sienna I wanted. Problem was I couldn't see the dealer who had the car so I zoomed in on the plate of the car and read it. Smithtown Toyota it read. So I went online and checked the inventory to see if the vehicle was still there. I spoke with my wife and we decided to pay the place a visit. Upon arriving there, the Sienna I was looking for was SOLD, big sign in the windshield...rats! A salesman by the name of Tony Natale came out to greet us, He was very kind and showed us a few other Siennas but none of them were what we wanted. He then showed us a lease return that he had just got in.....perfect mileage, right color, just right! He let me test drive it without hassling us for a copy of our license too. I told him my concerns and asked him would the car be inspected and he assured me it would. Then we discussed some numbers, he gave me a great price and never deviated from it even all the way to the finance office. Once we over at finance we met Stacy Meehan who handled all of our paper work and the numbers we got including tax, title and the whole nine yards were excellent. We even bought an extended warranty but Stacy never tried to push it on us. There were no surprise charges in our paperwork, everything was explained to us, we never ONCE felt like we were being rushed...like you get that feeling..sign here and here and here..Ugh..I hate that. Stacy made use feel very comfortable.Once the papers were signed Tony showed us the features of the car and in the end, we were very pleased with the service. The entire staff was kind and welcoming. Its not one of those fake things either dealerships try to do to you just to get your money either. Smithtown Toyota is truly the real deal. Thanks Tony, Stacy, Greg, and Cecily.

I bought 2014 Sienna AWD from Lou Bilous this past weekend. He was resourceful in finding the specific type, color and option loaded car in a hurry. He followed up often to assure timing of arrival, price and pick up time which were critical for me. On the day of pick up, I left the dealer without my registration sticker on the window. The dealer closed a few minutes later. I called Lou on his cell. He delivered the registration to me on his way home from work.. Now that is service. I was in the market for a highlander or rav-4. I new I needed a large SUV. I began shopping and inquired about both vehicles. Some salesman where great and some didn't go the extra mile to sell me on the differences in vehicle not only size. I called Smithtown Toyota spoke with a nice person who insured he would show me the differences in vehicle awd vs 4wd and gas mileage as well as safety features for my grand kids in with second and third row. I had a great experience and went with a 2012 highlander with 22,000 miles on it. After my second visit I bought the truck. I was very happy at delivery that he went on another test drive to make sure I was ok driving. He handled everything with my Bluetooth contact for work, very important for a care taker. My trip to dealer started with going to get an oil change for my 2007 4Runner. My sister, Sabine & I were asked to come in & visit Rich for a look at an upgrade. We have been leasing from Lou for many years - probably over 12 years now since he was at a previous dealer that was closer to my home.We travel a pretty far distance just to get our cars from Lou. Since I felt such a strong need to write my first review about my extremely negative experience at Huntington Toyota, I am glad that my second review is going to be about the very positive experience that my husband and I had buying our car from Smithtown Toyota.If you happened to have read my review of Huntington Toyota, you know that Mike Fox (salesman) was completely dishonest with me on the phone about whether or not they had a car on the lot that I was interested in seeing. After another salesman informed me that the same car was not on the lot and that he hadnt seen that car on the lot in a while, I received another email from Mr. Fox asking me if I wanted to put down a deposit on the car (that wasnt there) before visiting the showroom.If you want to buy a car from Toyota, I would highly recommend that you buy your car from Smithtown Toyota. I also highly recommend that you request to work with Aman Singh when you get there. Not only was he honest about which cars Smithtown Toyota did and did not have on its lot, but he was also honest about which accessories were and were not included in specific cars. Not only was he knowledgeable when I asked him questions, but he patiently answered all of my questions in a manner that clearly demonstrated his interest in helping his customers. Throughout our car-buying process, I clearly sensed that Smithtown Toyota values customer satisfaction. The various employees who worked with Aman Singh all worked very well together. I overheard them assisting one another to help various customers and they did the same for my husband and I. They were pleasant and made me feel eager to return to Smithtown Toyota the next time my husband and I are looking for a new car. In fact, the customer service that we received from Aman Singh at Smithtown Toyota was so positive, that I hope my husband and I decide to buy another car from Toyota in the future, just so that we can work with Aman Singh again!

The salespersons that I dealt with at Smithtown Toyota, Mr. Alex Bruno and Mr. Tim Payton, were exceptional. They were able to locate a very difficult to find vehicle, along with the equipment that I wanted, in a reasonable time. When I initially requested a price proposal on the truck, Mr. Bruno made every effort to win my business by providing a detailed vehicle inquiry report that pretty much spelled everything out, in black and white no tricks or other nonsense. Price wise, Mr. Bruno beat out all the other dealerships. The price difference between what Mr. Bruno offered, and what Mr. John Serbian in Riverhead wanted was close to $1,700! When the vehicle arrived at the dealership, Mr. Payton noted that it was missing the drop-in bed liner and the remote start. About a week later, he not only provided the bed liner and remote start, he also afforded me a loaner car, a Toyota Prius, that I was able to use to finish some Christmas shopping while they were working on my truck. The work took less than three hours. Im very happy and Im now considering the additional purchase of either a Prius or Corolla sometime in the near future.

These days almost everyone starts a purchase of a car by researching online. This is the only dealer in my area that accurately provides an internet quote for a SPECIFIC vehicle in their inventory. Everywhere else I tried to make an offer/get a quote online I would just start getting spammed with useless emails asking what kind of a car I was interested in, etc. I bought 2 vehicles from Smithtown Toyota after receiving internet quotes that were well below listed MSRP and actually well below the fair purchase price provided by sites like Edmunds or KBB. Both times the dealer gave me the price they provided earlier over the internet and both times it saved tremendous amount of time that otherwise would've been spent on negotiating. If you know exactly what you're looking for you'll just need to wait for all the paperwork and the car to get ready and you'll be out of there in just a few hours.

I went to Smithtown Toyota to purchase a new Camry. This was my first experience at a car dealership where the entire purchasing process was stress free. Tim Payton, my salesperson, was easy to talk to, treated me with respect and never tried to talk me into anything I didn't want. He told me about some of the options Toyota offered but I told him that I just wanted the car the way it came. His answer to me was,"That's fine". He then gave me a price which I found to be good based on the research I did previously. After we came back from the test drive I gave him a deposit. I can't leave Mitch Sirota out of this process. Mitch handled all of the finances. He explained everything to me clearly and I left his office knowing where every cent was going. He, like Tim, was very easy to talk to. I've been considering a new car for about 3 years (mine is 13 years old). Recently, I stepped up the process, and visited many dealers for the various brands. As I narrowed in on the Toyota Sienna, I did the online research, so I knew about what my car of choice should be selling for. I was about ready to purchase a car at another dealership, but figured I'd stop at Smithtown Toyota to get one more price to be used for bargaining. Sean Dietz made it so easy for me to purchase my new car, right then and there. No pressure at all, just helpful information, offered in a friendly and courteous way, and a better price than I thought I'd find. I couldn't find a reason not to buy. With help from Sean and Mitch Serota, the business manager, I drove my spotless new car home that day. As far as making a new car purchase a pleasant experience, Smithtown Toyota has nailed it. I could have purchased my Toyota Sienna from any other dealer and i have visited several of them in the area. After receiving very disappointing service from them, I looked up online other dealers. I called Smithtown Toyota first and they invited me in for a visit. I had preset appointment with Lou and arrived very agitated from my previous experiences. Lou greeted me and my family with smile. He worked in such a professional and proficient manner that within next 30 minutes the deal was closed. It was an amazing no hassle no pressure sale. But the real surprise came after the deal was closed and we received our car. Usually in our previous experiences, they would hand you the car and the sales person nowhere in sight to be seen. But Lou came out with us to the car and spent almost one hour going over all the manuals and all the features that car carried. He also answered my children's questions with a great deal of patience. As we drove off the dealership " wow ! " came to our mind. What an amazing experience ! Lou as long as you are salesman you've got yourself lifetime customers !

i went in for my first 5000 mile service and an oil change. I didn't learn until another 5000 mile were driven that they NEVER changed my oil. All they did was "reset the motor oil maintenance reminder light".All i had wanted was an oil change but they said I was entitled to these other services; tire rotation and such.Smithtown Toyota is NEVER touching my car again!

I needed to purchase a car, so I visited the Toyota dealership in Smithtown. Right away I was greeted by a gentleman by the name of Tony (his full name might have been Anthony, but I'm not sure.) Regardless, Tony was extremely friendly and I did not feel like he was pressuring me into purchasing a used vehicle. Tony was very professional and he is one of the main reasons that I bought a car there. I probably asked him the prices on about 20 cars and the specs for them and then test drove about 3 of them, Tony did not seem at all perturbed by this, while some salesman might be.I know all the tricks that car dealerships have and I was a witness to a few of them. For example, when I walked in after the test drive (they let you test drive the car by yourself) "coincidentally" they just happened to be discussing me and the car I wanted and I heard the sales manager say, rather loudly, "you know what, give him a years worth of free oil changes too," acting like he did not just see me walk in the door that was two feet from his desk lol. Tony then introduced me to the sales manager and the manager acted like he had no idea that I was the one that was going to get the fee oil changes. It didn't bother me though. When it came down to financing the vehicle, they gave me a great rate (1.9% APR - and my credit is O.K. at best.) They (Tony and the sales manager) did get a little bitter with me when I was questioning how they got their interest rates and final prices. I'm a business major and understand compound interest and all of the finance terms. I just wanted to check how they got their numbers and when I did, they both started to tell me that I needed a special calculator to calculate interest (maybe people who dropped out of high school do, but anyone with knowledge of compound interest and can convert percents to decimals, it's pretty easy. After I used the calculator and found out that they were being truthful (the only reason I did this, is because I got screwed with the last car I bought - not from Smithtown Toyota.)Other than that minor blip, my experience was great. I picked up the car two days later. The only other trivial issue was the woman (I think her name is Stacy) who deals with the final financing, getting the license plates, deals with insurance, etc. She called me up the day before I was to pick up the car and told me in - what sounded like an irate voice - that I told you that you need x,y, and z and you don't have x. I told her that I don't remember her telling me that ( I have a very good memory and can remember a plethora of information,) but she stated that she definitely told me that. I agreed with her to get her off of the phone. To be honest, if it were not for her impolite attitude on the phone, I would have given them a 5 out of 5 friendliness . I want to clarify that she was not horrible to deal with, it was just something about her voice that was not friendly - maybe she was having a bad day - I don't know.After that, everything went as planned. I picked up my car, Tony was there, we chatted for a little bit and I drove my new/used car home. Overall I am very pleased with the experience that I had there and I am a hard customer to please. I would highly recommend Smithtown Toyota to any of my friends that are buying a used or new car.

We first spoke to Lou in the spring. He was very helpful even though it was quickly apparent we would not be able to buy until this fall. When we called to say we were ready Lou was very helpful in finding us a truck that worked great for our price range. He put zero pressure on us to try to spend more money the we were comfortable with. We will go back to Lou when it is time to replace my wife's car.

I needed a replacement pickup and saw that Toyota has a model that fit my requirements. I called Smithtown and got Ben on the phone. He is a friendly guy with a firm handshake and a pleasant personality. We talked and he showed me a Tacoma. I was looking for a stick and was told one would be in later this month. My wife talked me into an automatic and I went back to Ben and presto-change the paper work was redone and I picked up my new vehicle the next day no problem. It is a pleasure dealing with friendly professionals. Another person who deserves praise (I don't know his name) works on the desk but when I came in to finish the deal Ben was not in yet this man started helping me complete the transaction. (He remembered my name without asking). When I was finished with Stacie Ben showed me my new pickup, gave me the keys and showed me again the controls and all the goodies. Truecar.com led me to Smithtown Toyota/Scion but Lauren's fantastic customer service made me actually purchase from them. She is VERY pleasant to work with and Honest. I had many questions on pricing, trade-in and scion accessories. She was knowledgeable but more important if she didn't know she partnered with her manager to get me the right information the first time and advocated for me to ensure I got the best deal possible. Rich was a nice guy and pretty down to earth, which is what I look for in a dealer. I like people who seem that they are being honest. While this was the case, I do not feel the trade-in value of my car was high enough and do not feel the purchase value of my car was low enough. I will certainly bear these things in mind for a future visit. Most importantly, the Toyota I purchased was used and while I am very happy with the car itself (which is why I accepted deal), I was not told whatsoever that the CD player was not functional. I had to drive out of my way on numerous occasions to get it replaced b/c it was not mentioned during the sale (or not tested before sale, either way a problem..). Also immediately the car's tire pressure light came on, and a week or so later overnight the front right tire became completely flat and I had pay $50 to have it replaced. Advice to the dealer...be completely honest with your client (not just partially) because it just makes you look bad otherwise.

I am writing this review out of appreciation for the fine professional service which I received at the Smithtown Toyota Dealership in general as well as from salesperson Mr. Aman Singh in particular. While I pretty much already had in mind the type of car I was looking for, Mr. Singh was nonetheless most patient and most professional in acquainting me with a whole host of options which I hadn't even considered when I first arrived. In the end, I was truly delighted with Mr. Singh's courtesy and professionalism throughout the entire transaction. In addition, I am very happy with the Toyota Camry Hybrid in which I eventually drove away. As a preface: I'm one of those customers who wanted a VERY specific, VERY "loaded" Tacoma... everything and more than normally available to dealerships in this region, from factory options, to PPO accessories, to dealer items (including supercharger)... and a bunch of aftermarket upgrades. I knew dealer costs and what I'd pay over that. Suffice it to say that I was a Sales Rep's worst nightmare!!After several model years of disappointing interactions with practically ALL of the Long Island dealerships, I happened upon a sales manager at Smithtown Toyota... remember the name: ALEX BRUNO. I'll try to be brief and give the man justice: ABSOLUTELY AND UNBELIEVABLY KNOWLEDGEABLE, HONEST, STRAIGHTFORWARD, MOTIVATED, DETAIL-ORIENTED, PERFECTIONIST. From finding the Tacoma on the factory list with the "basic" list of every option I wanted, Alex built the truck up with Post-Production and Dealer accessories, and orchestrated the purchase/install of the supercharger/fit-kit with the Service Department despite an undoubted myriad of raised management eyebrows.Then, there were my aftermarket chores: upgraded tires, truck-cap install and a minor level/lift kit... all requiring shuttling around to local and not-so-local shops. This is where Lou Bilous, a member of Alex' Management Team, joined the frenzy... providing back-up rides to/from as the truck evolved.Delivery date: June 10th. Rather than let me take a two-hour train ride out to Smithtown to pick up the pickup... Lou arrived at my door and we had a great ride out to the dealership, exchanging fond memories of the area where we both used to work. Alex wrapped up the paperwork, which took all of five minutes on my part, while Lou went into high-gear, giving the truck its final inspection, mounting the plates, walking me through the pack of manuals, and sitting me down in the Tacoma for an hour-long fact-filled lesson on every knob and switch it had.When I pulled away from the dealership, I knew I finally had the exact truck I had tried to get for years, and felt confident and thrilled with everything about it. My only regret? I'm sad that my contact with my new-found buddies will diminish... until I need to purchase another vehicle. NOT GOING ANYWHERE ELSE!!! Thanks Alex and Lou!!!

We have purchased 2 other Toyotas at Smithtown Toyota. We knew that that was where we would end up leasing our 3rd. We knew we wanted a RAV4. The one we wanted was not on the lot and had to be ordered. We were given a window during which our car would arrive , and it came in 1 week earlier than expected. Sean Dietz was our salesperson. He was polite, professional, pleasant and knowledgeable----he was EXCELLENT! *****5 stars! We had direct contact with Sean every step of the way---he was very easy to reach at any time. Sean was willing to spend as much time with us as we needed and answered ALL of our questions...and even told us to contact him at any time after we left with our new car---and we WILL-- since we will be upgrading our flipphone to an IPhone so that we can take advantage of all that our Navigation/ Display Audio System has to offer. I brought my car in for a service. Larisa Racenis was the service representative. She was professional, helpful and friendly. She brought to my attention that i had a couple of recalls on the car and arranged for them to be looked at on the same day. Also, one thing that i asked her about could not be taken care of that day. She had suggestions that solved the problem and made the visit successful and therefore, i didn't have to return another day. When picking up our new Toyota Highlander, Lou was clear no matter how late we needed to get there, that he would wait for us and explain all we needed to know about the car. Lauren Karakasians from Sales initially talked to me on phone and told me more about the car and other incentives they can provide. She was very cordial and I was convinced to visit the dealership and take a test drive even though I had other dealers close to my place. Unlike other salespersons I visited earlier (who were very pushy), she was was very professional and let me take my time in the decision making. She provided me all information I needed to buy the car. I was very comfortable during the whole process and finally bought the car a week later. I made the appointment exactly when I needed it. I brought my Rav4 for general service, The woman at the desk was so friendly, I asked for a estimate on tires, while I was waiting she let me know before any work had been done, which I much appreciated , The waiting room was great. There was coffee, bagels, television, vending machines, and tables. I got some school work done, and the service was so quick I was amazed how fast i was in and out. Wonderful service.

I have personally purchased 3 cars and I have helped multiple friends make purchases. As strange as it may sound, I really enjoy haggling with car salesmen. There's a certain thrill associated with getting that sticker price down closer to the invoice price. The down side is it sometimes takes a few hours of negotiation and you usually don't leave the dealership on friendly terms, with the sales staff anyway. This is NOT the case at Smithtown Toyota. My sales rep, Aman, went above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction. He was professional, polite, charismatic, and most importantly we were able to come to a great price hassle free with no hard feelings. I haven't had my new car serviced by them yet so I can't comment on that aspect of the dealership although the service center does look nice and new. I've been stationed in several states along the east coast, if I am anywhere in the tristate area this is the dealership I will use and take shipmates to from now on. Ask for Aman and tell him Tim sent you!

Smithtown Toyota was a pleasant car-buying experience. We met with Sean Dietz from the Sales Department, who was very knowledgeable about the various Toyota models and features. He took the time to listen to our needs and was most helpful in explaining and comparing the different models and equipment packages. He arranged for us to test drive several models and took the time to make sure we understood the differences between the models and features. Unlike our experience with several other dealers, there was no high pressure sales tactics. Sean seemed genuinely interested in making sure that we were entirely happy with our final selection - which was a 2013 Toyota Camry XLE. He was then quickly able to locate several available cars with the colors and equipment that we wanted. We also appreciated the assistance of both Kerri Cordova, Customer Service, and Lance Farley, Sales Manager, who was very helpful in working out the final details including the value of my trade - in, which was very fair. The entire transaction was smooth and transparent with no suprises or games. Again Sean took the time to explain all of the details and really made the transaction easy. We also appreciate the assistance of Mitch Serota, Business Manager who took care of the remaining paperwork and financing details. Again very simple and straightforward process with no surprises. The car was purchased on a Monday and scheduled for delivery on Saturday. We picked up the car as promised that Saturday. Again, Sean was available along with Bob from Smithtown Toyota to make sure that car had been properly prepared, cleaned and delivered with a full tank of gas. Again, no surprises - it was perfect. Bob then took the time explain the various features including, navagation, blue tooth, etc. He also gave us his business card in the event we had any future questions. It's now been one month since taking delivery of the Camry and we still continue to be impressed with how smoothly it drives as well as it's features - some of which we are still discovering. Although this is the first Toyota we purchased from Smithtown Toyota, it is actually our fourth new Camry purchased over the last twenty years and it is by far the best one yet. I just leased my third Camry from Paul Varandas at Smithtown Toyota and he deserves as much credit for that as the quality of the product. Rich made the whole process very easy. The dealer stood by the internet price and did not insist on financing. They were willing to give me the car for the stated price even if I paid cash. The Service Department gave misleading statements about diagnostic fees and in the end charged us $118 fee to tell me what I already knew was wrong with my door. I was only looking for an estimate to repair it. We had asked them to check our catalytic converter because we had a check engine light come on. We used a coupon for free check engine light diagnostics. We had our oil changed and when we couldnt afford to pay 600 dollars to have the automatic sliding door lock actuator replaced, they charged us the diagnostic fee. I did not agree to pay a diagnostic fee but my wife did not know any better and she signed the paper stating we agreed to pay it. She thought it was based on the labor rate and since no diagnostic time would be needed to provide the estimate for the door repair, she never thought she would see that charge on the final bill. When she told me she paid the fee, I sent her back to speak to the service advisor who immediately did not want to deal with it so she had us wait until the service manager David Bartoli decided to talk to me on the phone. When he did, he had nothing to say other than that he has a signed document stating we agreed to the fee and that he had done enough for us by taking the coupon. Even thought I explained he did spend anytime diagnosing the door he repeated the same thing, it is in the contract signed by my wife. I even informed him that we had just moved to his town and would be frequent customers and asked him to call the service manager at Penn Toyota who can verify this car is only serviced at the dealer, he repeated the same thing. Then he hung up the phone. This dealership is not like others. I have had a great experience at Penn Toyota and felt happy to be Toyota owner. Now I feel crappy and like a sponge for them to squeeze my hard earned money from. How short sighted to think that it is good to rip me off today and put an extra $118 in the bank and loose the repeat business. Any business owner who cant figure that out should not be fixing cars. Who know what other stupid things they will do to make a buck. Use defective parts?

Our salesman was Lou Bilous, he was very helpful and went the extra mile for us to make sure our experience was good. We went in on a Sunday afternoon, and we were driving our new FJ cruiser by the next day! I would highly recommend Lou and this dealership.

I bought a 2005 Nissan Maxima with 75,888 miles on it by trading in my existing vehicle (2007 Honda Civic Si with 59,600 miles on it) from Smithtown Toyota on December 4, 2012. Exactly one week and one day later on Wednesday December 12, 2012, I dropped off the car due to some transmission issues I was having (transmission would jerk when shifting in all gears especially from 1-2 and 2-1). I also noticed that my car was making a whining noise which became louder and higher pitched when the RPMs are higher, and that there was a squeaking noise from the engine bay. The next day I received a call from Michelle in service saying that the tech confirmed my problem, and the car was going to be sent to a transmission shop that Smithtown Toyota uses (Bayport Transmissions). The tech also tightened my heatshields which were causing the squeaking noise (the noise came back 2 weeks after I got my car back). I checked in with them several times (approximately 65 outgoing calls) over the following week, but was never given an answer regarding my car, or my call would just get disconnected several times. Finally, on Thursday, December 20th Michelle told me that the transmission shop confirmed my suspicion of the valve body of the transmission, and that the part was ordered. I knew I would need to give them more time due to the holidays, but as we were beginning week 3 without my car, I called the NYS Lemon Law arbitrators number and spoke with Ann. She called the dealership and was told that my car would have all issues fixed and that they would return the car by the end of the week. At the end of the week, Michelle told me that my cars transmission work was done, and the parts were ordered for my other concern which was the timing chain whining noise that becomes louder and higher pitched with higher RPMs. (I had sent her and her technician the Technical Service Bulletin for that job and the tech agreed that it was the problem) It has now been over 3 weeks since the parts were ordered and according to Michelle, whom I unfortunately still need to call on a regular basis (as I never hear back from her or get a response to my messages) the tools are the only things that have not yet arrived. She advised me to speak with Tom from parts. When I called him, he told me Nissan was giving him the run around regarding the tools. I found that to be a lie as Nissan does not make the tools, Kent-Moore makes them. I was also able to find a vendor for the tools in less than 5 minutes by searching the internet. I had to then call Tom and send him an email with link to the vendor for the tools to do the job. At this point I am extremely frustrated and will not do business with Smithtown Toyota EVER Again

The experience was simply amazing. I visited almost all of the dealers in Smithtown looking for the perfect car and by far this was the most friendly, unintimidating, and enjoyable of them all. Don't be fooled by the showroom appearance, it means nothing compared to the staff. Everyone I encountered was helpful and enthusiastic. There isn't a pushy stereotypical salesman in the place. When it came time to purchase the vehicle it was as smooth as I could have ever dreamed. I cannot say enough nice things about this dealer and my salesman Tim. If you are interested in a Toyota, run over and see for yourselves. I swear you will not be dissapointed.

My wife and I were interested in a 2013 Highlander. Louis was friendly,knowledgeable and patient throughout the process. He took us for a test ride in two different trim levels and offered us a competitive price immediately. we had been shopping online and had already visited other dealerships and this was the best deal we had found. The dealership was a pleasant surprise and all buying experience was excellent. I have requested online quotes from 4 dealerships and Smithtown Toyota was the only one that didn't try to play any games and gave a reasonable quote. All people with whom I interacted were excellent - Liz Skiba (handled my internet inquiry and answered all questions prior to the visit to the dealership), Lou Bilous (a sales representative at the dealership), and Mitch (financial manager). Lou was very straightforward, knowledgeable about the car, didn't try to make things up, no BS whatsoever. He spent a lot of time with us, even after the sale was done, explaining the car features and setting us up. Regarding the price, the dealership is also good - right off the bat they offered a fair price. It was still more than I was ready to pay, but not by much. Since I was flexible about car color and options, they could meet my price. I think, at a hard sell dealership, I could have negotiated the price a few dollars lower, but it's just not worth it - anyhow, the price we've got was good and stress free purchasing experience was even better.

On October 26, 2012 I went to Smithtown Toyota in response to a six day add for the purchase of a new Toyota. I had called ahead to ensure that I would meet first with a Sales Manager before seeing a Sales Associate. I previously had purchased five Toyotas from this Smithtown Toyota and I wanted the Sales Manager to know that I expected "preferred customer treatment" based on my previous purchases. Mark Schwartz was the Sales Manager and he acknowledged our phone conversation and assigned Sean Dietz as the Sales Associate. I was interested in a Prius Three as my possible new purchase - - - subject to receiving a fair value for my trade in of a 2007 Camry XLE. Sean was just great in taking the time to show me the intricacies of the Prius before, during, and after my test drive of the vehicle. Sean knew his product,the Prius, and was eager to display to me the value in purchasing such a vehicle. Sean was low key but very knowledgeable. When it came to discussing price for the Prius Three and what I would receive as a price for my Camry, Mark Schwartz was not overly generous but was fair. Because I liked the Prius, the excellent salesmanship on the part of Sean Dietz, and courteous and fair price negotiations from Mark Schwartz, I decided to purchase the Prius Three that day.

Below you will find my original review, however since picking up the car I had multiple problems with the salesperson and dealership. First, when we picked up the car that my wife had purchased, the salesman (Sean Dietz) told us that "he didnt like the looks" of the floor mats, and took them all out and said "he would order new ones." He even discussed with us how long it would take to get the new mats in...about a week. When I went to pick-up a 2nd car for me from the same dealership and salesman, the car was not what it was said to be (read 2nd review!). Because I was walking away from the car, and going to another dealership, when I asked for the mats for my wife's car, I was handed a set of generic mats that could be bought for ANY car from a car wash or auto parts store...not a Toyota part that had to be ordered. Then, when I contacted the dealership and spoke with the Used Car Sales Manager, he told me that they gave me cheap-o mats because they gave us such a good deal on the car. I also had to contact the dealership directly, as both my emails to a Customer Care Representative, and requests to speak to a manager through the dealership website's chat now feature had gone unanswered. Bottom-line, if you deal with this dealership..make sure you get any "promises" in writing, and good luck trying to resolve a problem.Sean Dietz helped my wife with the purchase of a certified Corolla. My wife was looking to trade in her 2008 Rav 4 for something that would allow us to have a smaller monthly payment due to a loss of family income. Having used Sean for several car purchases during his time at another dealership, we contacted him directly, even though this dealership was much further from our home in Lindenhurst. Sean was able to show us the "numbers" on the price of a car we were looking at another dealership, as well as several alternatives at your dealership. My wife wound up purchasing a car through your dealership, a higher model for less money, then what we were looking at at the other dealer. We will continue to use Sean, and now your dealership for our future car purchases. I am currently having Sean find a car that fits my needs and budget, and have also referred a co-workers dad to Sean and your dealership.

I would like to applaude Smithtown toyota for their professionalism. When I brought my car in for service/repair, they were able to diagnose/fix the car fast and provided me with a loaner car at no cost even though I did not buy the car from them. They gave me their current promotion prices even though I did not have the coupons for service. For the repair portion, they did all the work for me - called the warranty company and got the approvals. All I had to pay was my $50 deductible.This is me coming from Sunrise Toyota with a nightmare experience. I left a review for them as well!Great professional service from Smithtown Toyota. My next vehicle (2013 Sienna) will be from there!!

On this occasion, Paul took all of the factors into consideration and came up with the current leasing package. It was exactly the right thing for me, and could not have been better. Upon the delivery of the car to me, his description of the vehicle, setting up the radio and blue tooth settings, and other things, made me feel just like a member of his family. I am so glad to have him as my salesman. GUY ALBERGO, sales manager. Guy is also very friendly and helpful. He always greets me warmly when I come into the showroom. His assistance, working with Paul, has been really supportive. STACY MEEHAN, financial advisor. Stacy handled all of the financial aspects of the leasing. The arrangements were completed in a very short time, and everything worked out very well. I would also like to mention LARISA RACENIS, the service advisor, whom I have been working with for many years. Larisa always lets you know just what is necessary (and nothing more) for the current service visit. Larisa also makes you feel like family. I think that the other people involved in my leasing (and prior purchasing) experiences at Smithtown Toyota, including BOB MALONEY, Customer Relations Manager, and the service technicians, deserve compliments as well.

And have knowledge of the same.....Smithtown toyota DOES NOT CARE. Instead, theyre more interested in busing you to the local greasy spoon (probably get a kickback under the table) than fixing a problem that is common to a specific vehicle.....known problem......Place is unbelieveable. I chose this place to spend my hard earned money to buy a vehicle from them. And all they want to do is wash their hands of any difficult to solve issues....."i'll reimburse you" is all they can do. Do yourself a huge favor and stay far far far far away from this place.

I was very impressed with the quality of service I received from the sales representative (Aman Singh)I worked with when I approached him for assistance in purchasing a new Toyota Sienna. He was attentive, friendly and answered all my questions easily and in a straight-forward way. I am always wary of sales people, on guard for being given the run-around. Aman gave me a feeling that he was leveling with me regarding all of my concerns. I had done a lot of homework on line and had visited other dealerships, but based on my experience with Smithtown Toyota, I decided to purchase my vehicle with them. The sales manager seemed to be flexible in the price he offered me in the final stages, so I was pleased with the overall process. I am enjoying the Sienna and have absolutely no regrets. I first went to the dealership to get numbers on a lease of a 2012 prius. I was looking to trade my 2007 Prius (which i purchased from them 2 years ago) and wanted a trade in value. I was given an absurd number of $7900. This was all done with another salesperson, I think Aman Singh but I do not remember his name. I immediately told him that I thought this number was BS and that I could not believe that he would insult me with such a low number. I got up and left. I was then called back by the salesman who originally sold me my prius, Sott Preston who apologized for the experience and asked me to please come in and see him. I did. Scott then worked out a number that brought my tade to $9500 and I had to give them 2100 down on a prius 2 lease for 36 months and 18k/year. I told him that I wanted a back up camera so he added that for another $400. I still was not happy with that number and thought the car had more value. he also quoted me a Prius 3 as well but I do not remember that payment but it was higher. I told him that I felt they could do better on my trade, and wanted to know why I did not get any tax discount with my trade. i was told that you do not get a tax savings, which did not make sense to me because I was still paying a tax on the car. (They wanted taxes up front). Later I also checked the papers they gave me and noticed that they were not giving me numbers on an 18k lease but a 15 k lease which will change the numbers even more expensive with 18. Also, being a teacher (Scott knew this) he never offered to me the promo by Toyota which is that Toyota makes the first payment up to $500 and a $250 gift card to staples. Long story short, I got tired of the games there and decided to take my business elsewhere, I got a new Prius at Riverhead Toyota...Great Job FRAN!

From the very first encounter with Rich in the used-car lot, he was a gentleman. There was no sense that we were being "bullied" into liking a particular car or model, as has been experienced elsewhere in the past, but a genuine interest in both our needs and our desires. He was clearly knowledgeable about his inventory, but was not afraid to say so when unable to precisely answer one of our questions.He quickly got us into two different cars for test rides. He was easy to talk to, very personable and cordial, and his honesty shone through to us both. When we left there, still undecided about purchasing a lovely 2004 Highlander (which, by the way, he thought would be perfect for what we wanted, even though a different car would have netted more money for Toyota), he did not attempt to guilt us into a commitment, but gently appealed to our common sense and our search for quality.He was so convincing that we returned to him a short while later (we had told him we needed to 'sleep on it'), with a decision to buy the Highlander. He promptly got us through all the necessary paperwork, etc., and today we took delivery of our 2004 Highlander.We do not regret our decision; in fact, we are quite happy that we listened to Rich. He was right about this vehicle being a good fit when we we not sure about it.......until we drove it! This man should get a raise! It was, overall, a very pleasant experience, not something either of us expected, and I would recommend going to Rich Milano to anyone looking to purchase a good, used Toyota. Right from the start, Rich was very friendly, helpful, and professional. He listened to what I wanted and the price range I was able to afford. He showed me different vehicles, and got me behind the wheel to do a test drive. He pointed out the differences between the different cars and was very patient with my questions. I was also very happy with the amount offered on my trade-in. Once a decision was made(a 2010 Rav4), he took me over to Jay to work on the financials. Although close to closing time, Jay did not rush me, and explained things thoroughly. They offered to have everything done and for me to pick up the car the next evening.Overnight, I decided to have side body moldings installed on the car and called them the next morning. I spoke with Mitch, and he took care of seeing that they would be installed on time. I had another issue with my insurance company, and again, Mitch took care of that.When it came time to pick up the car, Jay explained everything I was signing and made the process painless.Then it was back to Rich who took care of my trade-in and brought my Rav4 to me. He once again showed me the features of the car and answered all my questions. He assured me I can call any time if I still had any questions.This was my first time to the dealership, and I'm pretty sure all my future purchases will be from Smithtown Toyota,Overall, a great experience, a great car, a great dealership, and great people working there.

Crooked! We negotiated the installation of a DVD player in the car I was purchasing. The next morning I discovered the DVD player was USED. They did not even deny it. They said "we never agreed the DVD player would be new". I also explicitly asked the salesman, Rich, if the DVD would be covered under warranty (assuming it was new) and his answer was clearly "yes". Of course, they did not cover the DVD player under warranty. The car I purchased was supposed to be 'certified', however it had huge mechanical defects. The car obviously never even underwent an inspection. I will say, with a lot of prompting and negotiation, the DID deal with the mechanical issues. However, they basically told me on the DVD aspect, "be happy we did so much for you". These guys are sleazy. Stay away.

My initial intention in going to Smithtown Toyota was to price a new Avalon then visit other dealerships for a comparison. I knew what my price should be and I knew what I wanted in the vehicle. I found the salesman, Louis Bilous, to be extremely knowledgable, courteous and professional. He was able to show me a vehicle that had the features I wanted at a price that I felt comfortable with. More importantly, at no time did I feel that I was being pressured into a purchase. Everything was up front and straight forward. He has changed my view of car salesmen, for the better. The dealership did not notify customer about prior damage of the brand new car, saying that the cost of repair is 5% of the total price of the vehicle then dealership does not have to tell customer about damages. I found out about scraches and history of damages done to vehicle when the vehicle arrived to me. I called Smithtown Toyota dealership asking about damages and all they answered is that "things happen". After talking to the Customer Service representatives in California, they recomended to talk to the manager of the dealership. His resolution was to bring the car back, so they can look at it. I live 900 miles away from the Smithtown Toyota dealership. I can take this car to clses Toyota dealership that has Body Shop, but maneger refused to do anything unless he would see the car himself or at least by his personal. I am not going to drive 1800 miles just so they can look at the car. It does not make sense.

Fantastic greeting as soon as we drove up. Despite the fact he was delivering a car to a customer. I was impressed with how dedicated he was delivering the car to the customer. We patiently waited for him to finish up with the customer as we appreciated how tasteful he was. He was excited and knowledagle about the car and got us a great price on the car and our trade in. Went to Smithtown Toyota to look at a 2007 Ford F 150 that was advertised in the Sunday Newspaper, I had call ahead just to see if the truck was still there and I was told by Scott that it was. My wife and I took a drive to Smithtown Toyota to see the truck and speak with Scott. Scott showed us the truck but also suggested a 2006 Toyota Tundra (certified pre owned) with less miles that had just come into the dealer a few days ago. Make a long story short we did buy the Tundra from Scott and we are very happy with the truck and the way we were treated by both Scott and Mitch. A few days later we had a very small issue with the side molding, we went to Scott and it was repaired while we waited (15 min). Would buy from Smithtown Toyota again.Bill ThomasRocky Point, NY

I had done my research on the internet and wanted a used Toyota Matrix to replace my tired 87 Camry station wagon - 233k miles. I had previously bought a new 2000 Avalon from the local Smithtown dealership, so I visited Rich Milano in the used car department and took a test drive on a blue 08 Matrix. I had looked up the free Carfax on this particular car on their website. I was not particular in the model year as long as it was not more than about 5 years old and was a "certified" used car. Over the next few days I looked at and compared 6 other Matrix cars from dealers and private owners. The blue 08 Matrix looked like the best car for me because of the dealer being local and provided good customer service. I went back to Rich Milano and we worked out a reasonable price within my budget, and within about 3 hours I was driving home with the Matrix. Simple, easy, no hassle purchase.

Rich Milano sold me my used 04 Matrix in 05, one of Toyota's lowest priced vehicles.Prompt, friendly, honest, attentive and informative - he treated me like I was a purchaser of the most expensive car on his lot. Same goes for this weekend. I visited the Smithtown Toyota used car facility looking for another Toyota and Rich was there, (longevity says alot about how a company treats their employees and that mantra is passed on to the customer), a friendly familiar face at the ready to make me a happy and satisfied customer. Rich is a careered salesperson, not someone who is a fly by night, he has to be honest and forthright because if you are unhappy you know where to always find him! Rich Milano, like Toyota, comes highly recommended!!!

I purchased a 2011 Sienna in February and just recently returned to purchase a 2007 Tundra last week. Both of my experiences were very pleasurable.I felt very comfortable with the excellent staff and the friendly environment at this dealership. I was really looking to buy a new car from a dealership closer to my home. My wife conivnced me to go try another dealership. There could be some better deals to be had. So, on a Sunday afternoon at 3:30, we pulled into Smithtown Toyota and were greeted by a smiling, friendly, and very helpful Hector Alvarez. We drove a car, and went home as they were closing for the day. Two days later, I get a call from Hector about a car that just came in. One week later, I was driving that car. Very low pressure environment. Hector and Mitch made the process very easy, and fast. Will DEFINITELY be buying from Hector again. I'll see him for a used Highlander in the next 3 years. I stopped at Smithtown Toyota to look at a pre owned Camry they had in the lot. I Was greeted by Richard who proceded to show me the car. It was a 2009 Camry in mint condition. Richard was very pleasant and informative, answered all my questions, and worked with me on the deal. I didn't have my truck that I was going to trade in so I made an appointment for the following day. On the way home, I stopped at a Nissan deatership to look at the Altimas and with all the incentives they were having, I wound up buying a new Altima. I felt compelled to write this review because I would not hesitate for a moment to recommend Smithtown Toyota, they are friendly, professional, and not at all high pressure. If you do go there, see Richard, he was great.

I was looking online to buy a Toyota Solara convertible when I found one at Smithtown Toyota. I called up and spoke with Rich and he told about the car. It was Red with a black top..just what I was looking for. We're very fussy about used cars having lots of dings and scratches. Rich went over the car and said that there were no dings but one scratch that he would get fixed. So we drove from Queens to Smithtown to see the car. It was just what I wanted. But the paint had water spots all over the car. He assured us that they would be able to polish them out. So we bought the car. The next day when we went to pick up the car the scratch was fixed but the car still had the water spots all over it. The car never was polished. Rich told us that he would make sure that the detailer would polish the car. He called us the next day and told us the car came out great so we went to pick it up. The car looked amazing and Rich was true to his word and made things right. We LOVE the car.It was a pleasure dealing with Smithtown Toyota and I would definitely buy another car from this dealership.

UPDATE: After having some initial issues with this dealership and sales staff, Mr. Alex Bruno was the manager who did take the time to provide his assistance and prompt response to my refund request. For various reasons (none of which are reflective of the dealership in any way!), I was able to find the vehicle I was looking for closer to my home. Mr. Bruno was instrumental in ensuring that my refund was applied as promised, as well as offering his assistance should I require vehicle servicing or parts in the near future. Kudos to Mr. Bruno and Smithtown Toyota for their professionalism after our unfortunate misunderstanding. As a result, I would recommend them for any Toyota needs that you might have.

I called Rich out of the blue ,from out of state ,looking for a truck he was advertising.Not only did he candidly answer my rather pointed questions ,but responded in good humour to my rather direct style.A little push/pull on price ballpark and it was agreed that I'd make the 2 hr trip down from CT that saturday and with a promise he wouldn't sell it before I got there.It would be cleaned/prepped and ready to drive off assuming I could pay for it.Neither of us fool around.I got there,got a hot cup of joe,a 5 minute test ride,10 minutes to deal,an hour to finalize the paperwork and registration.All this on a Saturday morning with DMV closing at noon.Love my truck Rich.2007 Tacoma X-runner.Call it my mid-life crisis,my little red wagon.Smithtown toyota will get you one too.

Last evening, after a long exasperating day of interacting with car salespeople, I decided to visit Smithtown Toyota, in Smithtown, NY. A lovely receptionist paged Ben, she offered me a coffee or tee, but Ben came over quickly.]I said to Ben, "Look it's been a day of people purposely giving me the incorrect information" , on a Prius III 2011 with Navigation.Of course, it all centered around the price that another dealer at put in writing (she was 20 miles further). We were walking towards his desk still.When we sat down at his desk he looked at the price. Said that he thinks it can be done. Said the two colors. I choose blue. He walked to his manager and came in a minute. YESSIgned paperwork. And 15 minutes later. I was on my way home. I would pick the new car up on the text day. Today.End

We were very happy with the family type atmosphere at Smithtown Toyota. We felt we got a fair price with not a lot of haggling and no sleazy gimmicks. Louis helped us decide whether leasing or buying was best for us and was very patient and knowledgeable with all of our questions. When our car came in he spent a long time with us going over everything we needed to know about our new car. The Business Manager Stacy was incredibly knowledgeable and we enjoyed talking to her as she made us feel very comfortable about managing the finances of our purchase. In the world of buying cars and just gerneally if in a world of "poor service" Scott Preston was a breath of fresh air. Rushed to get the car out the door only 2 hours after the sale was made . It was dirty and the so-called certification was no more than an oil change and an exterior car wash. The vehicle was left on empty with the gas light on. He gave a voucher to me when it was in for service to correct the other issues and told me to go fill it up. A good salesman would have had it done for the customer. The inside was filthy and the mats were disgusting. He promised new mats but of course when it came time to get them, he said he would take them out of another used one that came in. Typical used car sales b.s. I had to take it back twice to get it detailed and scratches fixed. After they take your money, you are a pest to them. My BMW service experience was so much better. I now know why people pay more for a car like that, they treat you like a customer. The car came with wheel locks...but no key...awesome!**UPDATE** 09/24/2010 Brian Smith called from used car sales to talk to me about my concerns. He apologized and expained that this is unacceptable customer relations. He promised to order the mats for me and give me a few oil changes too. All I wanted was a clean vehicle with gas in it, with the keys to the wheel locks and the mats that I was promised in the deal. I am not looking for anything for free, just what was agreed upon. I understand that the salesman wants to sell as many cars as he can but in my opinion, that is no way to treat a customer who paid almost 24,000 dollars for a car. I will change my review when the mats are delivered because I understand that all salesman do not relfect this dishonest one. **Update** 9/27/2010.. Mats were delivered as promised...wheel locks given...car detailed...and a few oil changes to make nice nice. I met Brian and he apologized...my salesman Timeo didn't even look at me when he saw me. So in the end I am happy with my car so far..the service department is run well and the used car manager has made a bad buying experience better. I can't make one bad salesman represent the entire dealership. I never should have took delivery of the car until it really ready to go out the door. Lesson learned.

Most of us have walked away from rude high pressure sales tacticts from typical card ealerships that try bait and switch or good guy bad guy salesman/salesmanger tacticts. "What does it take to close the deal today....., come back when you are really ready to buy the car.....,maybe my salesmanger can make you a deal......etc.Smithtown Toyota offered a polite and informative sales process that wellcomed my numerous questions, visits and test drives with my wife. My salesman Louis Bilous had the patience of a saint. He answered all our questions, gave his advice only when asked to, and made suggestions that made sense, usually from personal experiences. When it came down to pricing and matching a competitors offer he consultated with his sales manager Guy Albergo that provided a competitive match without the typical high pressure games typical in this sales tranaction. Mr. Albergo supported his salesman and represented the dealership in a very positive way. we closed the deal.

I have shopped around for a Traverse, Buick Enclave, Acadia and ultimately a Highlander and found this dealership to be by far the best of all I have shopped. No nonsense, salesmen are authorized to make deals instead of playing the waiting game of getting manager approvals, and I got a I got a great deal using my Costco membership. I still believe that these guys would have given me a fair price with or without a Costco or AAA card. Of the many options including Toyota financing, they arranged the most cost effective financing for me (which ended up NOT being Toyota's current finance program). No pressure from the Finance manager but she did show me all of my options for add ons to the car. I had an alarm and remote start installed through this dealer and was given very fair pricing. Overall, the best car buying experience I have had so far. This dealership is 30 miles from my home, but it was worth every mile to find this "diamond in the rough." I highly recommend these guys.

I would definitely NOT recommend this dealer, especially if you get Stacy as your business manager. She actually YELLED at me when I told her that I was going to see if I can get the car cheaper. The sales manager, Anthony was nice though, and told me to check the newspaper at Huntington Toyota to check the price and he'll match it.We decided to buy a car there,they told us that smithtown toyota locked us out of our credit and told us we weren't eligible to buy a used car, only a new one. Overall the experience was a nightmare, and they continued to call, threatening that she would make us regret that we went to another dealership, and make it impossible to buy a car. She actually told my cousin not to bring me to the dealership with him, because i know how to get the good deals, i assume. But I did very strongly feel tat that she was being prejudice. I would never go back in my life. Before we made the deal, they gave us a hard time about getting out refund. The only reason we didn't buy a car there was because they didn't treat us right. WE ended up getting a new car at HUntington Toyota for less then the car she was trying to sell us. They were very kind, friendly, and courteous. Them I would recommend.

We were promptly greeted by Carolyn, who spent the next few hours explaining the vehicle, letting us drive it, discussing the various configurations, and negotiating a price. Throughout the entire sales experience, we were both impressed with Carolyns extensive knowledge of your vehicles and deep appreciation for customer satisfaction. Her bubbling personality and true professionalism helped sell us on the car.When we took delivery of the vehicle, we once again enjoyed Carolyns friendliness, extensive product knowledge, and customer service skills. When we noticed a scratch and another minor defect in the new vehicle, Carolyn immediately took ownership of the problems and made decisive corrective action for a future repair. We were very impressed away by how well she handled the situation.Ive purchased 8 vehicles from Long Island dealerships in the past 5 years, and most of the time, the sales experience is miserable and filled with lots of nonsense. This was the first new car sales experience that I have ever had in which I enjoyed the entire transaction and felt 100% confident about my decision to purchase a new vehicle. Moreover, Carolyn has restored our faith in purchasing a new vehicle as our transaction was treated extremely fairly and with trust and respect.

I purchased 3 Toyotas from Smithtown Toyota. I leased one Solara. I purchased one Solara and then I traded the Solara for the Camry. Last 2 purchases were from the same salesperson: Paul Varandas. Paul was knowledgeable and friendly and trustworthy. He is an asset to Smithtown Toyota. I recommended Smithtown to the parents of a co worker and they purchased a Camry. I also recommended Smithtown Toyota to my parents and they leased a 2010 Camry. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this dealership to others.

For most people, the title "car salesman" will immediately raise suspicions. However, my experiences with Smithtown Toyota have been such as to erase that fear in me, so much so that I recently returned to purchase my 6th automobile from them. Recently retired, I was set on treating myself well. With an Avalon in mind I sat and spoke, at length, with Guy Albergo, Sales Manager. We discussed whether or not I would be better served with a Camry XLE. The model we discussed would allow me to receive more options than I thought I could afford for a lower cost. Moreover, with the help of Karen D'Andrea and Carolyn Dunleavy, I was told that leasing that model would save me over a hundred dollars per month in payments. Now I ask you, if these "car dealers" really wanted to just make money off me would they have: 1) recommended a less expensive automobile, 2) given me more options that I thought I could get, and 3) informed me of leasing as apposed to purchasing, which made my payments lower ?I'll let you decide.

One word comes to mind; Shady. Basically, after I signed, left a deposit, and was all ready to pick up my car, that I thought I had just bought, they call me up saying his manager didn't agree on a price I had already signed for. Meanwhile, I waited at least a half hour just to get approval from his boss via text message, who apparently was busy at a soccer game. Then they wanted to changed the price to $2,000 more than I signed for. They make offers they cant approve.

All of the staff members at Smithtown Toyota were extremely helpful and friendly. My salesperson, Joe Riccio, in particular listened to my needs and addressed them. He also stayed within my price range and was not "pushy". The dealership was clean and neat and I felt very comfortable. I would highly recommend Joe, and Smithtown Toyota to my friends.

I bought a Camry and a Rav4 from Joe Riccio. I went in told him what I wanted in a car and he took me for a test drive in a Rav4. Offered me "options" of leasing vs buying. I went with the lease and got a great payment on a limited Rav4. I love my new car and I will always return to Smithtown Toyota. The whole transaction was enjoyable. There was no pressure to buy until I was set on the vehicle I could afford. I recommended Smithtown Toyota to 2 of my best friends, who also bought from Joe and they too feel the same way about Smithtown Toyota.

After dealings with many rude people at other dealerships, mainly on the south shore, walking into Smithtown Toyota was an absolute pleasure. The people there were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The ease of doing business with them was outstanding. They were extremely cooperative and my particular salesman, Dennis Grieco was amazing. He did everything he could to make sure my husband and I walked out of the dealership happy and satisfied. I have aready recommended Smithtown Toyota to my friends, especially Dennis Grieco. I could not have asked for a better experience. I will most certainly go back to Smithtown again when I am ready for another car. The people there really were amazing and Dennis Grieco is the best salesman I have ever done business with.

My wife and I visited SmithTown Toyota looking to lease a Magnetic Gray 2010 Corolla LE. We decided to visit SmithTown based on the recommendation of a family friend and on their great reviews on Dealerrater.com. We had previously visited several dealerships in Queens, Nassau and Suffolk and had experience the "typical" car buying experience: Pushy and incompetent sales reps and even pushier sales managers. For first time leasers, please avoid any sales person who is ignorant of the car you are buying, cannot tell you any information about the lease offer, or has to check with their manager for the most mundane questions asked by the buyers. At SmithTown, we were assigned to Carolyn Dunleavy. She immediately walked us through Toyota's leasing promotion in great detail, calculated various payment scenarios and answered ALL of our leasing and car questions on the spot. She was not pushy at all. She was very patient, knowledgeable and everything else that all the other sales people were not (no exaggeration). This was our first car lease and, although we had done our homework, we wanted the sales person to address all our questions and concerns. My wife and I are the kind the people who read the small print on contracts. At the signing, Carolyn patiently waited while we read the entire contract, front and back, before signing it. Finally, the car was delivered as promised. I would have to say that Carolyn deserves a five-star rating for her professionalism, knowledge and good salesmanship. BUT here is why I did not give the dealership a five-star rating: A check for the value of my trade-in was supposed to be cut at the closing, but it was not there. Whoever was handling the paperwork forgot this. We received the check after almost two weeks - and the name on the check was misspelled - which brings me to my second issue. My wife's name was completely misspelled on all of Toyota's correspondence and most importantly on our Billing Statement. In conclusion, I would highly recommend SmithTown Toyota to anybody looking for a great first time leasing experience- Ask for Carolyn.

I went for my regular 5,000 mile service interval which involves an oil change and tire rotation and I left the car there all day but when I came to pick it up, it had not been done yet. They claimed that the paperwork was lost but that wasn't the first time something like that happened. They really need to improve their service department scheduling since any mechanic can do an oil change in 30 minutes or less. Sorry Smithtown Toyota, 3 strikes and you're out.

I read the reviews about their service department, and I read the reviews about their sales people....well, I never got the chance to find out about their service department.. Their sales department is a rippoff... was looking for a solara sle convertible...they had one that matched the specifications I was looking for, but it seems it was one of the bosses demo car...with over 7000 miles on it. To be honest, the other dealer was not close to my home, so I figured if we could get within a fair number to save myself a trip, I would go with them. They wanted $1600.00 more than another toyota dealer wanted for the same car, with the same options, and with 1000 less miles...to cap off their greed, they offered me $3000.00 less in trade in value on my car than the same competing toyota dealer did. when I called them on it, they brushed me off as someone they couldn't dupe. They may be real nice when you visit them, but when it comes down to dollars and cents...they are ripping people off. I would look twice before buying something from them. Do your research people, and you will see how they are trying to get you to overpay for their cars, and screw you on your trade-in. Want to know more? email me

I am 21, and this was my first time buying a new car. I went to a few dealerships and was frustrated by the treatment I received. Smithtown Toyota was the best place I could have gone. My sales rep, Carolyn Dunleavy, was very upfront and honest. She answered all of my questions and had no reservations about explaining everything to me in a way that was not confusing. At a Honda dealership I went to, the salesperson wouldn't even give me the true price of the car. Carolyn, on the other hand told me immediately after I asked exactly how much the car would cost including ALL taxes and fees, just as I had requested. And that's what I really paid!She let me know how many cars were in stock in the color I wanted, but did not pressure me to speak for any of them. I took my time in the decision-making process and she was ready for me whenever I was.She also tried to find any discounts she could for me, instead of me having to research them online and then bring them up to her. I can not believe how simple it was to buy my new car. What a great deal, I wish all dealers made it this easy!I would highly recommend this dealership and Carolyn, especially if this is your first new car.

I have been buying new cars since I was 17 ( I am now 54), and this was the best car-buying experience I have ever had. It is important for you to know that I had to drive past several other Toyota dealers to get to Smithtown Toyota ( I live in East Meadow a 1 hour drive away). let me start with the first phone call to the dealership- I was put on the phone with a saleswoman named Sue Houston. I explained what I was looking for ( a 2008 FJ Cruiser with certain options), and she began a very honest, accurate report of what she had in inventory, and a price quote. Now, let me be clear, the price quote was clear and accurate, not confusing or misleading as you get from other dealers. She then proceeded to e-mail me the window sticker from the cars she quoted ( very helpful). There was no pushing to "come in" either, just a professional helping you to buy a car. Within a week I made an appointment to test drive a car. Sue had one all ready with similar options to what we wanted. When we sat down to discuss the deal ( this is when there is usually a negative experience at other dealerships) there where absolutely no surprises! Amazing! When we asked to pick up the car the next day ( even with an alarm installation) they made it happen----even though it was a Saturday! Listen , if you are fed up with the way some car dealerships have dealt with you, then give Smithtown Toyota your business......You won't be sorry....score one for the good guys!

I went to several Toyota dealers for my 08 FJ Cruiser. I knew exactly what I wanted for the price I wanted it for. Other dealers tried giving me the run around, wanted a deposit to "Look" for the truck I wanted and wanted me to sign prior to knowing the final price. Anthony at Smithtown was super friendly and did the right thing. I had spent hours in other dealerships without finalizing a deal and at Smithtown, from the time I walked into the door to the time I left my deposit was about 12 minutes. Anthony asked me what I wanted, he provided a price, I then told him what I wanted to pay and the deal was done. NO BS run around. They said the truck would be in within 2 weeks and 1 week later I received a call to make an appointment for delivery. This was much easier than when I bought my last car (Infiniti G35 Coupe) and the sales service was even better! I would recommend anyone buying a Toyota to go to Smithtown.

He was extremely rude when my husband and I went to pick up our car. He stated to us " That we were pains in the *ss the day we looked at this car and that we were today too". He stated, " Your not buying a Rolls Royce here it is just a Corolla". This was the manager of the used car side. For customer service he sinks. I wouldnt buy another car from him if he were the last person selling them on the planet.

I found this dealership from a friend and had a wonderful, hassle-free experience purchasing a brand new 2008 RAV4. I worked with Howard Singer, who was very professional, knew the cars and options, found exactly what I was looking for and got it to me quickly and at a very reasonable price. I had a wonderful experience buying my 2008 Tacoma from this dealer. I went to others but this place was easily the best. I was not pressured and any problems that popped up were nicely dealt with. Luis Otero was not the typical high pressure guy and that is why I bought the truck from him. His manager was also a great guy and was quick to help out when needed. I was unhappy with the local dealerships, read the reviews on this website and went to see if they were correct. I was fortunate enough to meet with Guy Albergo and found that he, and the dealership, was just as good as reviewed by others. The price I was quoted for my car was the most reasonable one I had been given by any dealership. I asked about adding on some extra features and all fees were made clear up front. Guy was friendly, direct and a pleasure to deal with. Communication was good and my car was ready when promised. I was left with the impression that the dealership was fair and courteous in dealing with its customers and actually cared about doing a good job. All in all, a most pleasant car buying experience.

A few years ago, my wife was involved in a car accident that totalled her dealer demo 2002 Toyota Camry LE. After having an issue with the remaining warranty refund on the 2002 with Competition Toyota (orig dealer), I vowed to never return there. Someone then referred us to Guy Albergo at Smithtown Toyota in new sales. Guy made the buying experience a total pleasure, especially after understanding our circumstances of my wife's totalled Camry. There was zero pressure from him, and since we were so happy with how the Camry fared in the accident, we decided to get her a brand new 03 LE in blue.
