There's a reason I stay loyal to Star Subaru...star service! Never are they trying to sell me something. They do a thorough check on your vehicle, especially with their new, super dope alignment feature when you pull in. I will say this though...Hey STAR, can you put chairs outside for the disabled and the elderly, pretty please? During COVID some folks, understandably, didn't want to sit in the waiting area, so that's the only minor thing I can say. Other than that, everybody is real cool. Liliana is the best! The mechanics are always super pleasant and the service is always within reasonable time. Thank you, STAR SUBARU SERVICE.

I have been buying cars for almost 50 years and I have never returned to a dealership for a second purchase. Every time I purchased a car for tens of thousands of dollars, the salespeople and dealer would still hustle and scam and pressure me with additional outlandish additional expenses (i.e.$65 for gas!). Will Vergez sold me a 2017 Outback at an excellent price, gave me a fair price for my trade in, and delivered the car exactly on time. Neither Will, nor the Manager Gary,Mpressured me with expensive additional upgrades. They offered, and respected my decision with a hand shake and thank you.WILL VERGEZ IS THE BEST AND MOST HONEST SALESPERSON IN THE CAR BUSINESS!

My husband and I were looking for a new car and decided on a 2017 Subaru Forester. Since Star Subaru was right in the neighborhood we stopped in on Oct. 1st. Will Vergez came right over to us to help us. From the minute he started showing us the Forester we realized how knowledgeable and professional he was. We ordered the car that day and Will told us we would probably get it in at the beginning of December. He also told us that he will keep us updated every 2 weeks or so as he was getting info on the car, which he did. 5 weeks after we ordered the car I got the wonderful email saying my car will be in the next week. So 6 weeks after we ordered it, a full 4 weeks earlier than we thought we would. The day we picked up the car, Will sat with us for 2 1/2 hours going over every inch of the car, including the engine. He also told us that he will follow up with us after the weekend to see how everything is. Guess what? He called us today. Will is the most professional sales person we have ever dealt with. Thank you Will Vergez, we love our Car!

I called 2 weeks ago to report a problem. An oil leak on top of the engine. Service rep. Said it could be nothing. Clean it up. Check the leak and if it comes back call him again. I checked 3 days lter. And the leak is there again. I called the service rep Lou answered. I told him I have an oil leak and need an appointment. Also mentioned the A/C problem.when the A/C is on the engine vibrates. He said it was normal . I told him to make appointment. And Sept 10. I was the first customer. When I got to the counter. Louis said I was put in for an oil change. And I said no. I have an oil leak. Lou complained he has 2 guys for oil change only. I step out to make a call. I see my car being driven out the service yard. That is bad service . Lou did not even try to help me.nor ask me if I was finished with the service dept. Just drive my car out of the yard.I am really upset at this bad service and the rudeness that I had to deal with.

I own 2 cars and they are both Subaru. I have been using Subaru over 4years. However, I went to the start Subaru service yesterday and dropped my car for oil change and recall service. Today when I went to the bodyshop to pick up the car. I found the $122.87 for service payment. I only authorized the oil change and the recall part. I never asked for changing cabin filter. By the time, I did not have time to argued for extra $ 66.04 so I paid and left the bodyshop. the service advisor name was Wes D. I felt very upset and disappointed about the service. I may think about do not purchase any Subaru with this retail anymore because the service is not Satisfactory anymore.

I went in for an oil consumption test and they lie all the way through and try to blame you the entire time. They are xxxxxx and try to take advantage of you. Every time I brought my car to them it's instantly an issue. Wes will argue with you the entire time trying to make it your fault. He continued to tell me I had to bring my car back for the oil consumption test at 1,000 Miles despite the owner manual stating 1,200 miles. He than insisted I pay for the oil change because even though it's part of the oil consumption process It's not free only the test. I than spoke to the service manager Steve who insisted I pay as well. My sister had the same issue with her Subaru and the smith town dealership didn't make her pay. When I called the corporate Subaru office I was told I was correct and I did not have to pay that they should have billed it under claims and I will be reimbursed by Subaru. As well the policy states 1200 miles not 1000 miles for the test. Run from this place. Wes also tried to scam me by telling me that it was the washer that wells the issue but didn't tell me that the washer flattens when you tighten it on and so the new one would be thicker than the old one removed. Because I'm not a mechanic I didn't know this until I asked one. Subaru admitted oil consumption is an issue so I shouldn't have to fight like this. Dot I'm corporate was very pleasant and kind and supportive so it's not Subaru it's this dealership. Never go here

It's All About Lou! Here's a guy who asked for my name and introduced himself by name over the phone before we even talked business. He sounded sincere, actually listened to what I had to say and took my theory on what the problem was into consideration. That struck an immediate chord with me. (turned out my theory was correct!). I'm not used to good Customer Service in NYC, but he was absolutely wonderful from the moment I called to the moment I picked up my car after the work was completed. There was a little bit of a hiccup when the wrong part came in, but he immediately called and kept me informed. I got the car back and everything I had asked for was completed professionally. I will definitely be returning to Lou. A new reason, among many, why I drive a Subaru.

Looked around for second lease option at other dealers and it was a horror., Decided to lease a 2nd time through Star Subaru after David and Douglas made things more enjoyable and helpful of what we were looking for with overall options and budgeting. Neither of them were pushy and David and Doug made sure we left feeling happy once we picked up the 16 Crosstrek. David had us out with the new car in fast amount of time (2 hours) with all the paperwork.

I normally don't write reviews online, but my experience here is pushing me to spare other people from sharing the same mistakes. Go to yelp and google reviews to get a more balanced look at the dealership. Here is why I don't think you should buy your car here:1. They do not allow test drives.They only order cars for you, so there will nothing to test their sales pitches, other than the models on the floor. Often times, the models on the floor have been sold, so they lock the cars, and you can't even go in to sit in them. Subaru's are performance vehicles, what they lack in looks and design, they make up for in speed and engineeringso why would you come here with a high chance of not being able to sit in or even drive a performance vehicle?2. They do not carry any cars in stock.That means they have less incentive to cut you a deal b/c they don't have stock to empty. Other dealers may have excess cars and can cut you a deal just to make the sale or reach monthly goals. Not here. 3. They do not negotiate.The salesman that I spoke with, Frank literally opened a binder and read me off prices. He proceeded close his binder and say "I don't want to waste any more of my time", after I asked if he could go lower on his price. First car salesman I've ever seen who refused to negotiate, he didn't even try to smooth talk his way around it. He became visibly upset at an offer below his first price that he gave me. Didn't smile, walks very slowly- imagine having this guy go back and forth with offers to the manager. (shaking my head)The salesmen here are glorified data entry pushers. They won't negotiate b/c they have no incentive to give you a deal. Do yourself a favor and visit another dealership. If you visit this dealership don't buy anything! this should be your ceiling (highest) price that any dealer should be able to beat and not give you an attitude about.

I am so thrilled I went to this dealer. I walked in on a Monday night and drove away in my new Legacy on Wednesday. After going to two other Subaru dealers I didn't have high hopes of finding exactly what I wanted. The first dealer in Wantagh gave me a fair price, but didn't have a car in stock. The second dealer in East Hills had the exact car I wanted, but was giving me a much higher price. Even trying to negotiate in East Hills they still weren't willing to come close to the other price and they told me I was being lied to since the other dealer didn't have the car in stock. Two days later I walked into Star Subaru and met with Doug Filardo the sales manager. He had the exact same car (exact color, model, and options) as East Hills and the price he gave me was right in line with the dealer in Wantagh without me having to ask. He told me to wait one day though because the following day was a new month and he wanted to try and get me even better pricing which is exactly what he did. The salesman David Huang was who I did the paperwork with and who spent well over an hour showing me how to use every option in the car when I took delivery. I can't say enough about this dealership and the people who work there. Doug and David were both awesome and I highly recommend this dealership. Did I mention that I LOVE my new Legacy?? My only regret is that I didn't switch from an Audi sooner!!

I openly admit I was ripped off. Purchased a 2014 sti. Salesman was pano. Be very careful with this dealership especially this salesman. Before purchasing the car, he told me he would be able to get the stock rims for me and never did. Now i have a warranty issue and he said he cant do anything because I already bought the car like that. Very scummy people. Will never buy again and will never recommend this place ever again. DO NOT BUY A USED CAR FROM THEM UNLESS IT IS CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED. They hide lots of information about the car.(BTW THE STOCK RIMS ISSUE IS NOT THE ONLY PROBLEM I HAVE HAD WITH THEM).

The manager, Doug, at Star is knowledgeable, personable, and the sales personnel are not "pressure cookers" I've experienced through the years. That's why we have exclusively purchased our Subarus through STAR SUBARU.NOW for their wonderful SERVICE DEPT in Queens Village. Lou Senatore and Wes are courteous, and efficient professionals. They are one of the reasons for our continued patronage with STAR SUBARU throughout the years. We must mention our "special mechanic" named Bobby who we exclusively request to work on our cars. He is tops in our book!I have a fourth car, a 1998 Honda CRV and only wish their service department could take hints from Star Subaru!

Last week I purchased a 2015 Subaru Legacy from Star Subaru after shopping at three other Subaru dealers in my area. This dealership had the vehicle that I wanted in stock and sold it to me after allowing me to review the invoice. I was expecting to pay an inflated price for the vehicle due to the high demand, and the lack of the supply, but I was charged a low price. They also gave me the correct price on my trade. David the sales representative saved me the installation fees on my added options by doing the work himself. None of the common car dealer tricks were used at Star, and no dealership fees were added to the purchase price on my new vehicle. I could not make the above statement about the other three Subaru dealers in my area that I visited. The dealers that did not get my business: Hassett, Grand Prix, and East Hills. If looking for a Subaru don't waste your time and go direct to Star Subaru.

Never go koeppel subaru compare with star subaru. Koeppel Will charge $149 as start fee! I left this place in 38 mins after I rebooted my car computer. They even wanted to charge my car parts for $800 but my car was fine until now, they just wanted to add this service for the money. They are not a reliable store.Star subaru is a much reliable and helpful place for all subaru owners.

I selected Star Subaru and the Subaru Outback based on my research. I dealt with Mr. Will Vergez throughout the entire purchasing process also based on prior customer reviews. Normally, purchasing a new vehicle is anything but a pleasant experience however my dealings with Mr. Vergez revised my opinions of this entire procedure. I was deeply impressed with both the level of professional and personal pride with which Mr. Vergez conducted himself with during the entire vehicle purchasing process. My vehicle was a special order that would take between 8 to 10 weeks to deliver, Mr. Vergez contacted me every two weeks with updates regarding the final delivery. On the day of delivery Mr.Vergez spent more than a full hour explaining to me the operating details of my new vehicle, he answered all my questions and went beyond his required sales obligation to make certain I was happy with my new vehicle. Horrible, rude, illiterate, liars, scam artists, disrespectful and lazy. Made me drive 3 hours for BRZ series blue in blue, they clearly gave me a quote and availability before I started driving there and when we got there, they did not have it but they can get for $2000 more and it will take 48 hours. Managers calls my 60 years old sweet parents liar and thanking them for wasting manager and sales person time. Keep in mind we are the ones who drove 3 hours to make a deal. I suggest never to step into their dealership even if they offer you cars for half price. Star dealership, you will never get my family and friends business and hopefully no readers will fall into your trap.

I've always dreaded the whole car buying experience, however Star Subaru and their Salesman Will Vergez turned that around. I was pleasantly greeted by Will with in 2 min of looking at the Subaru Impreza. I told him the situation I was in, and he showed me 2 cars that would be in my price range. He answered all my questions and concerns, showed me different options for the car I wanted but wasn't "salesman" pushy. Once I decided on what color to get, he introduced me to the finance salesman who went line by line with me what everything meant. No one rushed me through everything nor did it take forever to get through. Everything was just perfect. When it came time to pick up the car, it couldn't of been easier. Will spent about 20 min going through all features of the car, which to me was great because I left not wondering how something operated. He left me with a handshake and congrats on your new car and I was on my way. I can not think of one bad thing to say about the dealership, Will, or anything with the whole car buying experience. Everything Was Excellent from start to finish. I have already recommended my friends and family see Will if they're in the market for a Subaru. I would absolutely with out a doubt go back to Star Subaru and should Will Vergez still be working there, I would buy my 2nd Subaru from him. Thank You Again Will! Jason Nieves

Update on previous review:Picked up our new Subaru which arrived sooner than promised. Will, our salesman took us thru everything we needed to know about the car and the business manager did what they do, try to sell us extras... But that's his job. What stands out for me is that over the first couple of weeks we've had some issues with the car and everyone seemed genuinely concerned about taking care of the issues. Because of that I would definitely recommend Will and Star Subaru to anyone looking for one.Nothing but a positive experience from start to finish.By the way, originally went to Star thru Costco's Auto Program. Great price with no haggling.

I recently puchased a Subaru Legacy with the Eyesight package from Star Subaru. The salesman, Will Vergez was very knowledgeable about the vehicle I was interested in (the Legacy with the Eyesight package) and answered all my questions. He was pleasant and not at all pushy. The price they offered me including the trade-in on my 10 year-old Toyota Camry, was better than I expected and I accepted it immediately. Two days later, I picked up my car and Will spent about 45 minutes going over the car with my wife and myself. In summary, I was very pleased with the entire experience.

The service I received at Star Subaru from beginning to end was flawless ! I was given ample time to test drive and question the vehicles of my choice. I was browsing the show rooms without any pressure. I could phone the dealership whenever I had a question about the process or the vehicle and I was never treated as if I was asking too many questions ! The low price of the vehicle I was most interested in stayed low in the end with no "Hidden" fees. My salesman, Andy, was forthright and made the whole buying experience pleasant, informative and comfortable. I absolutely love my Subaru Crosstrek and am looking forward to many miles !

Will was knowledgable, helpful and friendly. He helped me come to a decision as to what car I wanted to buy. Car was ready as promised and delivery took only as long as I was told up beforehand. Chris (business manager) explained some options to me clearly and thereby helped me to make a decision.

It's a horrible experience of mine: unprofessional, NOT customer oriented, and the sales prefer to chat with their colleagues than customers. I am definitely NOT going to make my purchase at this dealership, and I definitely WON'T recommend you to test your EQ.I observed there is the same incident with a female customer. When she asked for the sale what is that car in the showroom (it's a BRZ), and the sales responded: It's a sport car. When she asked what's the price of the car, the sales replied, "It's on the window."

Sales at star subaru care only about gaining profit, that's one of the sales kept telling me over the phone when trying to convince me their quoted price is reasonable. I felt so stressed after listening to him on & on about they are honest ..., but none of the words he said seem to care if the customer is happy, I can't imagine having to go to showroom & deal with that, bad experience!

Absolutely no high pressure sales. David H. our salesman was patient with us and accommodating. On a busy Sunday there was absolutely no problem taking a test ride (had to back out two cars from the showroom and did so almost immediately). I would'nt hesitate to recommend this dealership.

First of all Anton, the salesman, was extremely up-front and gave me an excellent price. He was also helpful in describing all the features of the 2012 Impreza.Secondly - Kellly from Subaru of America worked with Doug, the sales manager to get me the $500 in Subaru bucks I was promised. My thanks to Doug for his help.Thirdly - I do not know the name of the Parts Manager, but he was very understanding re: my Subaru bucks. He contacted Doug for approval and together they worked out a way to order everything I needed.

When I called on your ad, Anton answered and was able to tell me all about the car that I was interesed it seeing. He arranged the appointment with me and was there at the car finding out all the details for us so when we arrived we went right out on a test drive. He then closed the deal with us, quickly and efficently so we could return to work.

STAY AWAY!! If I could give them a 0 I would! Was told by FRANK that my check would be held, when they denied us a car (with a high credit rating - had ZERO problems buying elsewhere!) they cashed our deposit and refused to tell me how to get it back. After leaving at least 5 messages, I finally got through to my agent - WHO NEVER CALLED ME BACK, only to have him berate me on the phone and tell me that it's not his fault that I have terrible credit (really, mid 700's is terrible??). Have complained to their manager and to corporate. Hope everyone there is fired ASAP. HORRIBLE.

He immediately took me out for a test drive.When we picked up our car, he explained all the features and how they work. He had tons of patience when he explained the blueooth to me.A week later he called for a follow up. I went out in search of a WRX at the end of April this year. Due to the earthquake in Japan and the fact that it was the end of the month, nobody had any WRXs in stock and most dealers were telling me I'd have to wait until August at the earliest. Star managed to get a few WRXs in stock, and were super friendly when I called and visited. This was very different from many of the other LI dealerships I'd called who assumed you were a waste of time if you asked about a WRX. Most specifically, the guy at Port Subaru basically hung up on me before I could ask a few questions.Anton was my primary contact and Rafael backed him up. They both did a great job and were very easy to work with. Anton went above and beyond with the sale and helped me with things like how to install the roof rack and where the Bluetooth microphone is installed if I replace the factory head unit. I would definitely try to do business with them again.

Does integrity mean anything anymore?Very unhappy about how they sold their Intercept GPS car recovery when i bought my outback from them. Was told by the finance guy that my car didn't come with an alarm and that Intercept now replaces LOJACK. This is not true and i bought this based on that information. THIS IS NOT HOW YOU DO BUSINESS AND KEEP YOUR CUSTOMERS.FAST FORWARD ONE MONTHHaving spoke to Subaru Of America and the GM at this place, we were able to resolve the issue. If it wasn't for the finance experience, this place would have gotten a higher score and a recommendation or two... Now being mid June- I am still waiting for my refund., i was told by Doug Filardo (GM) two months ago he will take care of it. They tell you what you want to hear but the follow thru is never there. I complained to the BBB and this is the response i got "We are in business to make a fair profit . I am sure that whatever Mr XXX does for a living he expects to be compensated for his efforts . We have made Star Subaru the # 1Subaru dealer in the 5 boroughs and Nassau for the past 5 years by not only giving a fair price but by gaining the respect of our customers . Most of our customers leave saying it has been the best car buying experience they have ever had " Who are these people and why does it conflict with the BBB and dealer ratings?6/22/11-- After 3 months of chasing my refund down it has been received. Thank you to all that has helped to make this happen.

Would rate them 0 if I could. I had a signed agreement on the price of a car, but every single time they brought me the financing sheet they had added additional warranties I told them I did not want. After waiting for two hours for them to get it right, they still had not brought me a loan that was for the agreed upon and signed price of the car. Then when I told them I wanted them to change it again to the price we agreed on, they threw me out of the dealership, telling me that I was the problem and that they weren't going to sell me the car unless I agreed to the higher price. They knew I was desperate for a vehicle and had driven a long way to purchase that particular car and they took full advantage of this knowledge.Stay away from Joe Kolb, total scumbag. Finance manager is an even bigger piece of garbage, kept talking to me like I was an idiot... plain and simple, they do not care about you. I do not know how they can sleep at night knowing they do this to customers.
