Charlotte was amazing! She made it possible for me to get my dream car. I was previously so worn down by the car dealership experience and Charlotte really redeemed things in a practical and straightforward way. It was by far our least stressful experience. I should add that I purchased an ID4 I had already ordered and customized online. I went in just to buy the car that I already ordered and it still took me 4 hours. If you have a trade in, save yourself some heartache and don't count on getting the best dollar for it here. Previously my husband ended up not getting his VW here because they undervalued his trade by almost 5000. He got that value elsewhere. They also severely undervalued my trade in, and I almost had to walk away to sell my car elsewhere. *Miraculously* the bottom line ended up working out after all. I just truly do not understand why it had to be such a process not only for myself, but for the sales rep going back and forth. It's unnecessary and irritating. The actual buying a car portion was easy as pie and overall pleasant. Just avoid trading in your vehicle here if you can. That department isn't going to give you what you could easily get elsewhere.

They advertise on the radio not to worry about your credit, trade, etc., and say that if you have a job and $500 down, they can get you approved. I submitted my application and never got an answer. I had one specific request and they did not follow thru. Terrible customer service. I will not recommend them to anyone.

This was one of the best car dealer experiences that my wife and I have ever had. Our car salesman Brandon was very patient and accommodating to our needs. The finance crew was awesome as well, getting us exactly what we wanted at a great price with no haggling. Matt the finance manager, had a great personality and was very good at his job. Sold my 2015 GX460 to them. Took 2 hours for them to make the decision to buy even though I had already set the price with them via the phone. Andy Dubose, the person who purchased my car, was cold and kept low balling me on the the value of the truck. Finally got what I was told they would offer after 2 rounds of negotiations and had to threaten to walk away. They are selling the truck for $6k OVER for what I traded it in for and its been a week and they still haven't mailed me a check for the difference but the car is up for sale already. They messed up the paperwork so I had to come back in and resign some documents the next day. Called to check on when I would get the check for the difference and was told it wasn't their problem and that the Honda dealership handles that. Called the Honda dealership and they told me they have nothing to do with purchases made by VW dealership. While waiting in the show room the staff were loudly calling each other obscene names and talking negatively about previous customers. It was the worst "car experience" I have ever had and its still ongoing. Go anywhere else.

When purchasing my vehicle there was some shady action taken by this organization pertaining to someone who was "wanting to put a deposit" on the car and then miraculously disappeared. I questioned their values then but reluctantly bought the vehicle anyway. It was not until I was handed the keys to drive away that I was told there was only one key, that's $100+ they are going to cost me eventually. I was also offered the obnoxiously low amount of $300 for my working automobile that I drove for two hours to get there for a trade. Don't worry I drove it back two more hours and sold it for $1100 the other day and had multiple other reasonable offers even with all the problems it had with it, those weren't hidden by the way. When I bought a car from a "dealer" I expected to receive something fully operational and safe, at least for the first 30 days until my actions were undoubtedly the cause of any erroneous details to the vehicle. There was an air bubble in the front driver side tire that could have even been there prior to me buying the car and the way I have been treated I think it is safe to assume that it was. Due to the nature of how an air bubble in the sidewall of a tire is caused I could never prove anything either way. I decided to take the hit for that and mark it up to either me not doing a thorough enough inspection of the vehicle prior to purchase or that I actually hit a pothole and caused the issue. I feel like that is unlikely because why would I not avoid every little bump in the road in a car I am investing in for the near future right after I sign the papers to drive it away but that is neither here nor there. When I went to get the tire changed I was informed that there was an expansion in the lug nut cap making them impossible to remove without proper equipment. I went ahead and tried to put the socket that was supplied with the spare tire on every single nut after the tire company replaced them. Only about half would even fit. Had that air bubble turned into something else like a blow out and I somehow managed to not hurt myself, anyone else, or the car how would I have been able to change that tire? I would have then been stranded on the side of the road somewhere waiting on some tow truck, costing me even more money. All this to say that on a used car inspection they did not even touch a tire. If they did not inspect that what else did they not do? They claimed they did not touch them because the tires did not need to be rotated. They need to be rotated more than rotated to be honest. I emailed and phoned back and forth and after some bouncing around, getting treated like trash, and pretty much laughed at they said to send a receipt and they will cover half of the lug nuts and that is it. I regretfully accepted and emailed a receipt with a drawn out explanation of the occurrences only to receive no reply or attempt to reconcile. I really hope I never have to deal with this organization again their practices are sub par and questionable at best. Grand Total of assumed and actual cost that this dealer's actions and shady business practices will cost me is approximately $350 or could have been exponentially more had the tire blown out, and I have not even had the car for 30 days. 0 stars if possible would never recommend.

Do not go here. I made it very clear first thing that I was not ready to buy that day but wanted to get a feel for what was in my budget. After harassing me to buy the day of before I even got in the door, I was shown only one car and they wouldn't even tell me how much it was! None of their cars had even a starting price and the salesmen take 10 minutes to "look up the price" which really consists of fetching a financial employee to further harass you to buy immediately. Once again explaining I had just started shopping around I was told "good luck" and literally shown to the door. Similar experience at another Stokes dealer as well. Rude employees who don't listen to you, untrustworthy pricing, and an overall horrible experience.

Bought a 2008 jetta seemed nice lots of perks. The day i got it home it starts making a noise and couldnt figure out why. Talked to the salesperson Jeremy ( Very nice friendly). There car was sold as is, but ac wasnt working either. After researching others problems. I put a fuse in where one was missing. Which you think might be on a 175 point inspection. AC works after a while running not in idle. But noticed the AC fan isnt working. and their is a bulletin on it. Meaning the company knows its a known problem. Once i found what the problem was i called to see if we could this resolved but since it passed their inspection they wouldnt do anything. I may be able to fix the problem with a new radiator fan for $110 on ebay but no guarantee. If that dont work i will have to dump who knows how much into the vehicle so it doesnt over heat and blow up. I really just wanted to know for sure what the problem is. I dont mind putting in a little money but feels like inherited a problem. Sometimes its hard to catch everything when you are unfamiliar with a never owned brand. I came on lot looking for another vehicle and ended up getting a Volkswagon( Double what i was looking for) which i was hesitant as i have heard of little electrical and sensor issue like this. The Volkswagen's are nice , the Salesperson was helpful, Financing was a breeze. Just wish this could have been resolved to put my mind to rest.

I went to the dealership on Saturday September 27th 2014. I have no credit as I have paid cash for everything I have or had to go to buy here pay here places and pay an outstanding interest rate. I was approved for a brand new 2015 passot but decided to get the 2014 clearance model so my payments would be more in my budget. I was looking for a more economical vehicle for my wife to carry our 2 year old to his 3 therapy sessions a week and many doctors appointments. I was greatly surprised on the approval with no money down. Then on Monday September 29th I took them the proof of income they required and all the sudden I have to have a co-signer. Because I am a sub- contractor. Never mind I have worked for the exact same pest control company for over six years and have lived at the same residence for over 41/2 years. The salesman (Jeremy) was one of the best car salesman I have ever met. To Jeremy I do thank you for all your help. But for the approval then the sudden disapproval I can not reccomend this dealership. Thank you Kenneth

Heard on the radio yesterday morning that if you had bad credit and $500 to put down that Stokes VW would get you into a car. I had to laugh after being told by THREE other dealerships it was impossible. I called Stokes VW and got Blane Cook on the phone. I challenged him and the ad... no way would I qualify - bad credit due to a bad relationship... long story short - Blane got my information over the phone, called me later in the day asking me to bring my pay stub (I thought I was being jerked around again) so I went. I left with a brand new 2014 Passat S and I love it!!! I was in and out (with a trade in) in no time!! My down payment was low and my monthly payments are doable. Blane was awesome!!! Stokes VW WILL get anyone into a car - if they did it for me, they can get ANYONE approved. YAAAAYYYYYY!!

Recently I attended the Stokes Volkswagen miracle auction and was amazed how cheap the cars were going for. I have never been to an auction before but ended up bidding on an Infinity G35 and won. Jason in the sales dept was great to work with. He got me a better price than the local competitor and was great dealing with my dad :). However, I cannot say the same thing about the service dept. When I bought the car the front tire was nearly flat. I was assured by the service dept that it just needed air. 1 week later my tire light comes on and I put air in it just for it to continue to go flat. I brought it to the stokes service dept 2 weeks before my 30 day appt. Just for them to put air in it and turn off the light. Thanks but I could do that with a slow leak. Today on my 30 day inspection they found that the valve stem was leaking. So why was this not found before I drove it off the lot? I recommend working with Jason. But remember to be pushy with the service dept.

We were looking for a used Beetle because we are Beetle lovers. In fact, we own a 1970 all original Beetle. Stokes VW was the closest to us so we went for a visit and we were amazed at how friendly all the staff were. They answered all our questions and were very polite. The sales reps were not like other dealerships. They gave me space to walk around and talk with my husband. The attitude and atmosphere were great and the showroom/bathrooms were very clean. When it game time to sit down and discuss our choice, Clarence was very helpfull. He explained everything right down to taking us to talk to the finance person. The finance person was also very helpful. He explained every paper we had to sign and what it was for. He explained the payments and all about the financing. You can tell they believe in what they sell and take pride in their dealership. I had a great experience and would highly recommend them to my friends and family who are looking for a car.

Went with my daughter who wanted to purchase a 2013 Jetta SE. Jason Kelsey was the first salesman who greeted us outside (in the rain) and proceeded to give us information on Jetta's. He was very knowledgeable, easy-going, and friendly. A couple weeks later, she signed papers and was hoping to get a Jetta from another state. This part of the deal landed on Bob Denny's desk. To us, he was not in a hurry to 'secure' a car in a timely manner, so therefore, his service did not impress us at all. I do not know what was going on in his world. However, Travis Westbury (GM) was great and managed a wonderful deal on a beautiful 2014 Jetta. Mike Mercaldo is the easiest finance guy you can ask for--very knowledgeable and not pushy at all. You always dread talking to the money guy but not in this case. I would recommend this dealership and just ask for Jason Kelsey! He will be glad to help you!

By fate, we had already met a few years ago, so there was already a little bit of history and trust, but overall, I would definitely have him as my salesman again. Throughout the whole process, Jason was patient and answered all of my questions, no matter how small. He was not pushy or a jerk, instead he was my personal advocate--knowing I would not accept less than what I wanted. He was communicative throughout most of the process, either by phone or email, and he worked with my schedule. We started at Stokes Mazda looking for a car we saw online, the sales person at the Mazda dealership told us the car wasn't there to try the Stokes Volkswagen store. Clarence Nelson said the car was not on his lot but he went online and found the car at the Mazda lot, he went down to the lot with us to show us the car. It was not a practical car for our needs, so we test drove two other cars and decided to buy one of them. We made an excellent deal on the car in less than an hour, we had our own financing and returned the following day to complete the sale. He had all the paperwork ready when we arrived and we were in and out in under an hour. The car we bought had an outstanding recall from the Subaru manufacturer, Clarence went out of his way to take the car to the Subaru dealership to have the recall completed before we arrived to finalize the sale. This was the most pleasant car buying experience ever. Clarence is knowledgable, and helpful but more importantly he didn't try to push us into a sale when he knew the vehicle wasn't a good choice!

I rarely write reviews on car dealerships because the ones I've been to have been extremely bad experiences. NOT with Stokes VW. I went to this dealership after reading the reviews and thought I would give it a shot. First, I want to let every person who reads this review know that I do not have any close relations with any of the employees, nor was I forced by anyone there to rate them on this site. These are my honest opinions. I was expecting (with just about every dealership I visited) pushy sales people, finance specialists who don't give you honest pricing, and unprofessional management. I met with Clarence Nelson, who is very knowledgeable about the VW products and was never "pushy". He will honestly bend backwards to help a client. He will answer your questions about every VW and will give you options. Again, not pushy at all. I left the dealership after test driving a few cars, feeling good, knowing that I got my questions answered and was never forced to buy a car that day. Clarence treated me with so much respect, especially being female. You don't really get that at other dealerships, even if you have a female sales rep. Most of them make you feel stupid and think that you don't know anything. At this dealership, I NEVER got that. It didn't take me long to make a decision to purchase a new vehicle. Though with every process of purchasing, it took some time, but you should expect it. There was NO rushing of the process and Clarence, as well as Michael made sure that I was happy with my vehicle and with the service I was given. As stated, Clarence and Michael will bend backwards to make sure you are very satisfied once you leave the dealership. I highly recommend speaking with Clarence or any of the Specialists at Stokes VW. I am not kidding when I say that they will bend backwards for you. They honestly will.

Kristi was one of the better sales representatives that I've come across in the auto world; very nice, not pushy, but knew how to find the right car for my situation. We visited this dealership on a Friday night and ended up finding the perfect Jetta TDI. We were also looking at another dealership but after talking to Jesse we had no doubt that this was the place to buy a Volkswagen. He brought up so many good point as to why this was the place to buy. He also talked about his Volkswagen, which made us believe that he really did like these cars and wasn't just selling to sell. We settled at a very reasonable price and they even stayed until close trying to finish the sale and we never felt rushed. Since the car needed very minor touch ups, they included that into our contract and I have since been back to get them repaired. The staff are all so friendly and helpful! Jesse even ordered us a second key because the car only had one. Overall we had a very good experience and didn't feel like we were at a pushy dealership that just wanted money. They seem like they are very passionate about Volkswagen and really care about taking care of you first before anything else! I would recommend this dealership to anyone, talk to Jesse Freeman he will find the right car for you!

I highly recommend Kevin Spivey! Despite how unexcited I was about having to buy a car after mine was totaled, Kevin made my experience not only tolerable, but enjoyable. Kevin listened to my needs and never pressured me to put myself in a financial situation that would make me uncomfortable. He was also very patient while I mulled over every decision and scrutinized every word of every document. He spent a lot of time with me (4 hours maybe) and he didn't have to- there were a lot of customers there that day and clearly he would make much more commission selling a new car to someone with a bigger budget. He never made that apparent. I have recommended him to everyone and I absolutely plan to go back and to see him in a few years when my budget allows me to buy a brand new Jetta TDI. I hope this review (in some small way) helps bring him more clients and continued success, he deserves it! This is what Kevin did NOT do.....I had been to a few dealerships already and did not feel like anyone was listening to me. Again and again, other salesman at other dealerships ignored the budget I suggested and the cars I wanted to see. They all tried to lure me to sitting in the newest and most expensive models- calculators in hand- telling me how I really could afford it because I should use my total budget as a down payment. Maybe they were just doing their jobs, but they made me feel pressured and unworthy of their time despite what an important decision this was for me. Just because I am only willing to spend $10,000 cash of my hard-earned money and NOT willing to become a slave to the bank and loans and car payments- I should not be treated subhuman for being the rare fiscally responsible American whom actually buys what I can afford. Speech over ;) Go see Kevin. He's the Godfather of car salesmanship.

I intended to purchase a new automobile for my wife. I know quite a bit about automobile 'value'. Performance, economy and emission control. Diesel TDI is a clean burning engine that will last a million or more miles. Low horsepower, but high torque give the economy of better than 30 mpg in town and more than 50 mpg up to speed limits on InterState roads. I wanted a TDI. We had considered looking at a Toyota, but the Toyota my wife was driving didn't meet her desires and I wanted a TDI. She had a friend who drove a Passat, and that was the car she wanted to look at. As we pulled into the Stokes Volkswagen dealership, we were met by a very friendly person named Billy Conyers. He was not pushy and when my wife mentioned she was interested in a Passat with style and comfort features, Mr. Conyers was able to oblige. We looked at a couple of vehicles and Billy suggested a Passat that had been driven by the dealer and was just now available, would we like to look at it. Yes! and a Passat TDI SEL was brought up front for us to view. I was very please with the appearance and style of the car. We took it for a test drive and the car did not disappoint. German engineering is top notch. I highly recommend Stokes Volkswagen Dealership on Ashley Phosphate Road in North Charleston, SC. See Billy Conyers for your best experience.

This Volkswagon dealership is the best in the Charleston area by far- It is so much more "comfortable" then the other Volkswagon dealership in this area (I think it is in Mt. Pleasant, if I am not mistaken). Today I purchased a new Jetta from Mr. Billy E. Conyers ll- As a single woman walking into a dealership, it can be very intimidating. Mr. Conyers made me feel so welcome and his demeanor made me feel right at home. There was no pressure from him, or anyone in the dealership - the kind of pressure you affiliate with car buying ( from a woman's perspective)- I was welcomed with smiling facesand the atmosphere was extremely laid back. I felt very comfortable there and Mr. Conyers provided me with "stellar" customer service. He had patience and answered all of my questions. Jason Kelsey was by far the best car salesman I've ever worked with. From the beginning he was completely understanding in the complex deal I was wanting to pursue, trading in my power boat for a partial trade in value towards a Volkswagen vehicle. I had initially been steered towards the Tiguan model by other car salesmen, but Jason quickly identified that the Golf would much better fit our needs. He was completely right. I had never been notified that the Tiguans' recommended fuel was Premium, amongst other things! After taking a drive in the Golf, and loving it, Jason allowed us to test drive a few other vehicles, so we could gain some perspective, even taking us to another affiliated dealership! Afterwards, we shook hands on the deal and came to pick up the Golf the next day. This car was a gift to my cousin, and being her very first vehicle, it was a special day. We arrived to find that Jason had spent a lot of time decorating her new car with a giant bow, and balloons tied on all sides!! You couldn't have planned a better moment!

The price range we were looking for was low, but we found a Stokely listing online that seemed to fit the bill. The car had been takento Charleston Auto Auction the night before. Clarence Nelson was very honest and did not use high pressure techniques to make a sale. He was very forthright in what he could and could not do for us. The used car had some minor dings, a few dents, some paint scratches and a fallen headliner, although the car was "as is" Clarence was able to get all the work done (the headliner outsourced) at a very low price, $500.00 in all, a fraction of what others would charge. This was added to the deal for the total price of the car. Whoever did the body work was not happy with the final outcome and asked if we could bring the car back to get it to be perfect (new car look). I am very satisfied with the work that was done and I would highly recommend Clarence Nelson if you are making a car purchase. Clarence, If you are reading this....Thank You!! As a parent you always want to be there for the guidance and protection of your child. Purchased a used vehicle from dealer. In our purchase agreement we were guaranteed a professional full detail for the vehicle and touch ups on a few scratches. We are pleased with the vehicle itself, however I can tell you that we are completely unsatisfied with what they call "detailing."I was told that we could not make an appointment to have the touch-ups done because the guy only comes on Thursday mornings and they don't know how long he will be there... WHAT?! So I had to call several times to make sure he was there. THIS is NOT service. They should have made a appointment around our schedule (which was pretty open) to have these things taken care of, not give us some wishy-washy time frame.Second, the "detail" was unacceptable. There were literally leaves in between the back seats still. Unfortunately my husband had to go to work, so he just took the truck and left. When he got home I looked at it, and although they did a mediocre job washing it, the inside was horrible. Crumbs were still in the compartments and cup holds. Leaves between back seats. Seats that weren't even vacuumed much less touched. So disappointing. Will be sure to let other know to stay away from here.

I took my car in for its routine 30k maintenance and courtesy wash on a Wednesday. As I was walking up to pick up my car the first thing I noticed was my car was dirty. Rain would have washed off more than they did. Then I saw a nice size dent right in the back of my car. When I told them what I had found they were quick to set up an appointment for the next day to fix the dent and fully detail my entire vehicle. I was very relieved that they were handling the problem easily and, so far, professionally.The next morning I bring my car in and they gave me a loaner which is great when your car is in the shop. Around 3pm they call me and say their detailers had changed their hours without telling the maintenance department but they will be in tomorrow. They tell me to keep the loaner overnight and I can pick up my car tomorrow.The next day, lunch comes and goes with no word from Stokes so I give them a call at 1pm. They ask if they can call me right back as the office is busy right now. An hour later they call and tell me they are working on the car and it will be done soon. Finally at 5pm I get a call but now they tell me the detailers couldn't finish the car and I'll have to pick it up tomorrow.It is now Saturday, two days into the holiday weekend, and I still don't have my car back from a simple oil change. Stokes VW calls at 1:30pm telling me the car is ready for me to pick up. I drive over and walk inside to sign for my car. The attendant immediately starts explaining that the detailers never showed up so she just had the maintenance guys clean the car. And in her words it should be ok, "because we aren't charging you for the dent repair or car detailing." Well I am so glad that you aren't charging me to repair the dent that you put into my car (which after three days still isn't completely fixed) and that you lied to me that my car was being worked on. The maintenance guys who "detailed" my car left large streaks of polishing compound and/or wax all over the vehicle. There was a muddy foot print on the back seat and there was still dirt on the console and in the cup holders. On a good note they really made sure the tires were very nice and shiny.Thank you Stokes Volkswagen for your carefree maintenance. However, I am not so sure it is me that is "carefree" with my vehicles maintenance as it is your employees and maintenance technicians.

Went to Stokes VW and I was in a hurry; I had already done my research as to what car I wanted...even down to the color/doors/transmission. I had about a two hour window to do "the deal" and the paperwork. Talked to Clarence, who is by far the most reasonable and down to earth salesman I've met. We talked, we haggled, and we got the deal done. I got a good value for my trade in and got the car I wanted. Felt good about the experience and my car. Sometime later I was ready for a another car; went in and spoke to Clarence yet again. Had the opportunity to work with the manager (Travis) for some additional haggling. Travis found the exact car I wanted at another dealer (out of state!) and had the car transported to his store for me to inspect it. Car was good......but not great. I spoke to Travis and Clarence; three days later the car was back from the detailer and it was GREAT. Again.....I got a very fair price on my trade, and car exactly the car I wanted.........all done with no hassle, no bs, and all communication was done in a very relaxed and down to earth style. They were very courteous and patient throughout the buying process and my first service visit was likewise a good one.My new (used) CC appears to be an excellent automobile although I was really not familiar with the car before seeing it at the dealer. I think VW should really advertise it more, not just the Bug, Passat, Jetta, etc. The CC seems like a very good value for the money. Internet services such as Edmunds, etc. compare the CC to other vehicles costing much more.I first intended to buy a new Altima or Sonata but I'm glad I "found" the CC.

My was previously diagnosed at another auto shop. They could not do the work so they recommended me to this place. My car was brought in Monday morning. Being a girl I do not handle my car due to last experiences with dirtbag car people. I have had my father deal with all car issues but since he is out of town he has had to deal with these low life's over the phone. My father has called each day asking for an update. In the beginning of the week they said they had started work. By Thursday my dad got a little curt with them an incisted more detail Phil then admitted they had not even looked at the car, he was confused he got it mixed up with another similar car. Now on Friday due to the previous very nice auto mechanic place calling this dealership they finally looked at my car. They left my father a voicemail saying the work would be approximately 450$ now that I have shown up they tried to add an extra 130$. They did take the additional charge off after they could not explain where this miscellaneous charge came from. If I had not said anything I would have still been charged. When leaving I spoke with John the service manager although I believe he was trying to come off as polite, the only thing I saw was an uneducated condescending prick. His only explanation was they had two similar cars with similar problems. Needless to say these people are conartists and I will never return.

They were not open to working on their numbers in order for my family to purchase two cars. Tried to put me in a car that I didn't want. And did not talk numbers with me until I had been there for 4 hours. I assumed that the absence of the money conversation meant they would work with me on the price; but I was just there for 5 hours for nothing. Long story short, bought same car at another dealer, they were able to get me the car and the warranty in my price range by just reducing the car 1600 dollars. Will not work with stokes again. :(

Stokes Volkswagen was one of several dealerships I contacted via the internet in regards to my new VW. Phil Tackett at Stokes was one of the quickest to respond, came in with some great prices, and overall the dealership was the friendliest to deal with by far. If I decide to buy another VW in the future, my first call will be to Stokes Volkswagen.

Attending a medical conference in Charleston and experienced fuse issues. Mr. Ahlstrom returned my call and advised that I come by the dealership on my way out of town. He had a technician trouble-shoot the fuse panel and corrected the problem. Good public relationship on his part.

Was sold on buying a Ford Taurus, wife talked me into going to Stokes to look at a Passat. Tumpie was great explaining the differences between the 5cy, 6 cy and TDI. Ended up buying a TDI. Tumpie even went out of his way to get my wife the color she wanted. Tumpie's attention to detail in explaining pre-sale conisderations and post-sale car introduction was outstanding.

OMG, We went in to take a look at the new Passat and OMG this HOT salesman approched to assist us. He was very polite and very knowledgeable. We were only there to look and not purchase, but after dealing with Kevin and the way he was so accomidating to us, before we knew it, we were the proud owners of a new 2012 Passat,, yaaaaahhhh. I highly recommend this dealership and especially Kevin. I tell you, this guy went above and beyond to make sure we had a pleasant buying experience. We didn't know exactly what we wanted when we came into the dealership but Clarence was patient and understanding and did I mention super friendly! He turned us on to the Volkswagon Routan. We were impressed with all the features and the price of the car. We also dealt with other members of the Stokes Volkswagen team and they were all very nice and helpful! Our VW had a engine light come on, while on vacation, and Stokes was the closest dealer. We left the car, rented a car & proceeded. Thye stated they were 100% sure they had fixed the issue. On the way back home , the light was back on. They wanted me to drive 400 miles back, get a room, and miss two days of work for them to fixed a problem I had already paid them to fix.They charged for parts not needed & am having to arbitrate to get any money back.They prey on a captive customer!

I bought my Jetta in Florida and was in Charleston SC visiting family. On Monday morning as we prepared for the 400 mile ride back to Florida, my tire pressure warning light came on. Without an appointment, we drover over to Stokes VW in North Charleston and pulled into their service area at 7:20 a.m. We were treated like fammily. They got my car right in, found a nail in a back tire that had not done any damage, washed and vaccuumed my car, and had us on the road home. All the staff chatted with us, offered us coffee, and were seriously concerned for our safety on the road. Thank you Stokes Volkswagen for a job well done.

I just bought a 2009 Accord through the internet sales manager, Phil Tackett. The on-line vehicle description, which included a car fax report, turned out to be thorough and accurate. There are several free and very capable smartphone apps that helped me quickly decide Phil was offering a very fair price, which he was willing to negotiate further. We settled on the sales price entirely by email, and once I was satisfied, made an appointment to inspect and test drive. There were never any traditional high pressure tactics I saw at some other Charleston dealers. The entire time to inspect and buy the car took less than 90 minutes. Phil was very easy to work with, never wasted my time and I'd strongly recommend him. He even pointed out how I could save the sales tax cost as a military member, something I would have missed on my own. I'd also strongly recommend the internet sales approach as it appears to save time and money over traditional commission sales if you do your homework!

The service department is the worse service department I have ever visited. I have even contacted the service manager and after speaking with him, he has let me down as to what he promised me. It is very clear to me that VW only wants to sell their autos and has no desire to service what they sell. I will be sure to pass on my experience with VW and this dealership to all. I will not recommend this dealership or VW to anyone. This is my first VW and will absolutely be my last!

We had been looking at certified pre-owned cars for about 3 months never quite finding the right fit (right car at the right price). Until, we found a certified pre-owned Passat Komfort at Stokes VW. We worked with Phil and Clarence on buying the Passat and the only word I would use to describe our experience would be exemplary. Both Phil and CLarence gave us top-notch customer service and even sat in the car with us and went over every feature the car has. Clarence took me on a tour of the dealership introducing me to key people in each department. You just don't get service like that any more. Phil walked us through the financing of the car and with the help of John we got a better rate than our pre-approved rate from USAA. Sweet!The whole experience of buying a certified pre-owned Passat from Stokes VW was fantastic. We highly recommend you stop in and talk to Phil and/or Clarence to get the absolute best customer service in town. Thanks guys-we LOVE our certified pre-owned Passat.On a side note: Not only are Phil and Clarence exemplary at customer service, they are nice and honest men too. That means a lot when you are making a big purchase such as a car.

I have been doing business wiht Stokes for about 10 years and they have been the best Dealership I have ever done businees with. I am a Military member and have been away for the last 4, but when I called and asked to have my wife's car - which was in storage - serviced and repaired, Stokes was willing to bend over backward to accommodate her short fused schedule, even though she had to cancel and reschedule within a 5 day period. The service was excellent and Robbie Chinn was inher words, "really exceptional". It is so good to know that there is still a Dealership Team that can be trusted! After being turned off by our local VW dealer, I decided to try looking for the VW we wanted on-line. After contacting 4 other dealers in South Carolina and comparing inventory, pricing, and the bottom-line Stokes Volkswagen had two major pluses. First, Stokes had the vehicle, model, and options my wife and I wanted. Second, the quote given (bottom line) was nearly the best. Of course, the rapid response of the Stokes Internet Sales team with Abbie in the lead cinched the deal. Financing was a pleasant, rapid process, and with Clarence delivering the vehicle the next day the sale was complete. On delivery, Clarence took the time to go over all the "bells and whistles", cover all the necessary paperwork, and made us very pleased with the entire process.This was the best car buying experience I've had in over 40 years, quick, pleasent, and most important there was a level of honesty that was quite refreshing. I will and do recommend doing business with Stokes Volkswagen to anyone, anywhere.

Ask for Art when you go to buy a car here. He made it super sweet car buying experience. First time we've bought a brand new car and Art made it so easy. Basically filled out some paperwork and picked up our car a few days later! Things we love about Stokes VW:1. Art2. Friendly helpful people (Our apologies to everybody else that works there, but Art was was so friendly and helpful we can only remember one other person's name (Robbie, from the service dept.)3. Our new Jetta is awesome! 4. Service Dept quick and helpful (we had a question and they right on it)(We haven't had to get our car serviced yet, so we are unable to rate the quality of work attribute, however we anticipate that it will be of a quality similar to experience thus far.) 5. Got a great price on the car we were trading in. 6. They traded with another dealership for exact model and we wanted.The one thing that would have made our car buying experience better:1. Just our opinion, but when someone is buying something that has that many numbers in the price it should come with a T-shirt. (Mostly because the VW shirts are cool, especially the spiral one) Overall a great experience; we highly recommend Stokes VW. And the new Jettas are awesome!

I had a very good experience with Mr. Chinn. He was willing and able to answer all my questions. No pressure. Very pleasant. Very helpful. While I ultimately did not buy a Volkswagen, he certainly did his job well. And by "did his job well," I mean he treated me as a human being. I was able to frankly discuss the different cars I was considering. Even though Volkswagen did not meet my needs this time, as new models come out, I will definitely come back to see Mr. Chinn.

I just bought my first car, a 2010 VW Golf. I spent a lot of time researching cars online before going out to look at the dealership. I first stopped at Low Country VW in Mt P. I knew exactly what car I wanted, and knew that the dealer probably wouldn't have the car I was looking for available on the lot. (there aren't a lot of stick shifts in Charleston, I guess). The salesman at Low Country VW wasn't very helpful, and spent most of his time trying to sell me the Automatic Golf TDI they had on the lot. Then when I inquired about bringing a car in from elsewhere he seemed even less interested in helping me out. He said he would try and call around and let me know in a few days if he could find what I was looking for. After I left I decided I would make the trip out to N. Charleston to go to Stokes VW. It certainly paid off! As soon as I pulled in I was greeted by a friendly salesman, Robbie. He was really helpful, and not pushy at all. They didn't have the car I wanted on site either, but I told Robbie exactly what I was looking for and went and ran a search right then to find it for me. Everything else about the dealership was great too, everyone was very nice and helpful. I was able to get the exact car I wanted for a good price with a great warranty. If you are in the market for a VW, I would highly recommend going to see Robbie at Stokes VW!

Mr. Chinn was very knowledgeable about the vehicle we were considering: the VW Eos, but that quality was only one of several that made the experience pleasant. He has a manner about him that is very disarming; we felt comfortable with him from the beginning. He was polite, professional and accommodating. The test drive was fun with him! But by far the most attractive of his personality attributes is that he is low-pressure. If only more salesmen realized that people don't want to be strong-armed or manipulated. Customers want to have a pleasant experience in which they feel good about the entire process, from the shopping, to the signing, to the servicing. We just want to feel we've made a good decision, and have our interaction with a dealership reinforce that belief. I'm sure those who purchase from Robbie would say he is successful at delivering that very thing.If the car were longer (with more leg room in the back seat), we'd probably be driving one today. It would have been a pleasure buying from him, and we will keep the dealership, and Mr. Chinn, in mind when we are in the car market again.

I really enjoyed my experience at Stokes Volkswagen. Robbie Chinn was an amazing salesman. He was very human and engaging and had answers for any questions I had about the vehicle I was looking for. He was also very patient as he stayed consideribly late to make sure that I was squared away without even a hint of being annoyed. I would recommend this store and salesman to anyone I know who might be in the market for buying a new or used vehicle. As a former professional in the auto industry, I have encountered countless dealers in my travels. Now, as a Navy service member, I understand what good leadership can bring to an organization. With Stokes VW, that exemplary leadership starts with Carlos, the GM of the dealership. John, his sales manager, also provides the customer and the employees with a comfortable environment. The one manager at Stokes VW that makes the greates impact is Eddie Nuttall, the business manager. He's got the hardest job in the dealership- selling intangibles to customers who he's just met. Also, he is the one man responsible for ensuring the customer's financial situations are settled with regards to their new car. He is a man that operates under a complete belief that doing the job honestly and professionally is the key to success and building long-term relationships with customers. Moving to the sales staff at Stokes VW, they are all friendly and approachable. They are all willing to cooperate and work together as a team; which is in contrast to the backstabbing, snake-like nature of most dealerships' sales staff. Within the excellent staff, there is one standout. Mr. Phil Tackett, the internet sales representative, is a true example of a gentleman in a typically non-gentlemanly industry. He is dedicated, often sacrificing his own time and off-days to come to work and assist his clients. I feel completely comfortable buying my vehicles from Phil, and I am glad to refer all the Navy business I can to him. So to Phil, Eddie and the whole Stokes VW team, well done and keep up the high business standards you have. To Eddie Stokes and the rest of the Stokes Auto Group, you need to recognize the Stokes VW way of doing business and learn from it. I have had some awful experiences at other Stokes stores, most notably the Honda store in North Charleston. The salesman, lets just call him J.G., an "old dog" of the car business, seems to be completely unaware that the car business has evolved, and therefore, the car salesman must evolve. It's time for some evolution J.G.! You can't blow customers out the door, because with professionals like Mr. Tackett out there, you're going to lose a lot of business very quickly. I'm sure the example set by Stokes VW will improve the rest of the Auto Group, and I look forward to doing more business with Stokes VW in the future.

Every aspect of this internet originated sale exceeded my families expectation. I worked with Phil Tacket via the internet as I was stationed overseas and Phil got me the exact car I wanted at the price I wanted and arranged to have all the paperwork ready for me the day I arrived in the United States with my family. There wasn't any hassels from anyone at the dealership; no hidden costs or added fees. My family and I had flown in from Europe and the day had already lasted 19 hours by the time we got into the dealership. My two young boys were tired and we just wanted to get the car and be on our way. Phil promised that it would work out that way and he delivered. Phil even picked us up at the airport and drove us to the dealership with all our luggage. Phil gave us a complete review of how the car operates, and we were on our way. I have purchased 4 new cars in my life and this was by-far the easiest purchase I have ever had (FULL STOP). Customer service, cleanliness, expertise, you name it, Stokes VW in North Charleston had everything and I highly recommend them for a vehicle. Additionally my vehicle, a 2010 VW Jetta TDI is a fantastic car!

Our salesperson, Phil Tackett, was great! We began discussing buying a car through the use of the internet prior to my coming into the showroom. By the time I met Phil in person, I was already at ease coming into the showroom. Meeting Phil via the internet first and telling him what I was looking for was very helpful to me. He was very professional and extremely helpful, just as he had been as we talked via email. My husband and I purchased two cars and we were always comfortable with Phil as he explained the best qualities of each of the cars we chose. He was also patient with me as I shopped for the car I really wanted. We feel that we are part of the Volkswagan family because Phil made us feel very welcomed. What a great group of guys. I bought a new Routan for my wife and after shopping Toyota,Honda, Chrysler the VW was by far the best deal. I shopped a couple of SC VW dealers and by far the lowest price and friendlyest people were at Stokes. We are very happy with the Van. The whole deal was easy and they had the one my wife wanted in stock. Phil was a great sales guy and help set up all the cool stuff in the radio (which is awesome) John and Dave were also great. This is the second time I've dealt with Stokes VW. I researched online until the weehours and found the car that fitted my needs best. It was a 2010 Passat. I contactedPhil Tackett, at Stokes, and he communicated all the information I needed with a minimum of hassle. Buying a car does not have to be a hostile, suspicious experience. Phil treated me respectfully and got me just what I wanted. I've dealt with the service dept here and have always been satisfied. `I like the fact that this is not an enormous dealership. People know you when you come in and I feel comfortable. Are there cheaper prices available somewhere in the state on any individual deal ? Sometimes yes, I'm sure. Dealers are as competitive as they have to be. I felt I got a fair deal on my trade in, and purchase. VW's are not cheap nor are they #1 in service, but I like the way the car looks and drives. I got a good % of my original purchase price back on my trade in. I'm getting the mileage they put on their stickers and so far have had no problems with the car. I exspect to own thiscar for 5 or 6 years, and don't put on a great deal of mileage. Come to the dealerin 5 years, and you might be able to buy my car. BJM 62 and retired

Robbie Chinn was totally upfront and amazingly honest in dealing with me.
