I took my 2002 Jetta TDI diesel engine vehicle to Suburban VW of Farm Hills for repairs. There has been some turn over in the management at this dealership. Their service person was a joke. He told me they lost my car after it was towed in for service!!! He also told me there were no loaners. I had 2 repair issues. One issue required a part. They said they had to order it. It took at least 3 days to come in. When the part came in the service guy said something like it was "defective". While they were waiting for that part to come in, they had plenty of time to check out the 2nd repair, which was the A/C system. They initially told me there was no freon in the system. They said they put some in that had dye so they could check for leaks. They later admitted that they had used a "defective" pressure gauge to initially diagnose the problem. After all the incompetence and confusion, they told me I needed a new compressor!!! They were inpatient, rude and condescencing. What a nightmare!!! I do not recommend this dealership!!!

When my wheel locks order arrived, I made an appointment to pick them up and to retrieve a duplicate vehicle key at the same visit. The service department was a flurry of activity. I knew in advance that the key programming would take a bit of time. When they called my name, I went to pay my bill, curious where the key locks were. They had been installed for my convenience. As I was preparing to depart, I saw they had also washed my vehicle! Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised, especially noting how busy the staff was. This was the perfect mix of efficiency and professionalism. Thanks to all!

I went in to test drive a 2016 Tiguan. At the time, I had a '14 Jetta with several payments left and I was getting close to the end miles of my lease. I met with Steve first, sales manager, who was very nice and handed me over to Joe Shannon. Joe was very upfront and honest through the entire process. Joe got me into the Tiguan I wanted at the price I wanted. They had to go to their sister store to get my Tiguan. I walked in at 6pm; at 9pm, I was driving out in my new Tiguan! Joe was a pleasure to work with and I will continue to do business with Suburban VW!!

Terrible service department! I had a good sales experience followed by several terrible service experiences. The service expectations set during the sales conversations did not align with what they actually delivered. I would make a service appointment to have several things worked on, however when I arrived for the appointment I was told that they were not prepared for one of the items and although I was promised a loaner car, nothing was available. Several of these experiences could have been turned into a positive experience if the person in the service department had approached it in the right way, however they make you feel like it's your problem not theirs. It became clear to me that customer satisfaction is not a priority in the service department. Many other dealerships have been making significant improvements in this area recently, Suburban is very far behind the market.

I went to Suburban VW of FH since one of my friend recommend it to me. I visit a few dealerships before getting here and there is no point of comparison, Daniela Shtrbevska assist us to get our first Passat leasing and the service was just amazing! There was a lot of support from all the dealership members, the Sales Manager Steven Hubel help us a lot to get everything ready with the bank, simply the best service I ever had on a dealership.I highly recommend to anyone that is looking for a VW to go to Suburban VW of FH!

My husband and I walked into the Dealership without an appointment. We were greeted promptly and received assistance from Andrew McVeigh. He was very knowledgeable not only about the Beetle but also about the vehicle we wanted to trade-in. Andrew showed us what he had available on the lot for our test drive. The vehicle we selected was washed and parked next to our car so we could make some comparisons. After our test drive Andrew checked vehicle availability and explained the pricing process in detail. Wait times between steps were reasonable. All of our questions and concerns were addressed professionally. We were able to trade in our vehicle and drive home with our new Beetle that day!

I was pleasantly pleased with my treatment and service whilst I procured my new auto. My schedule made it very tight to try and locate a vehicle and Joe Shannon was more than accommodating. He was able to find me a Jetta sport with a manual gear box and had it brought to Farmington, prior to purchase, so I could break out the white gloves. He was also very patient with me. When I came in on my lunch break, only working with an hour, he still managed to help me despite being with another customer when I arrived. I found him to be knowledgeable, and to my great satisfaction, expediently unearthed the information I desired rather than divulge falsified answers.

I took my car in to get my final 3rd warranty service done on my car. I also wanted to get the recall on the coolant pump fixed, as well as get my new key fob programmed. They refused to do the warranty, claiming it was no longer good. I checked with several other vw dealerships who said the Suburban dealership lied to me. I was able to get the paperwork to prove Suburban wrong. After I got my recall fixed, they refused to show me the part, even though it was my legal right to see it. I was very polite about it, but I could tell the service rep thought I was a joke. I went back to get my new key that I paid $57 to get programmed and they didn't even do it. I got my money back and took my car to Ann Arbor. Ann Arbor vw took care of me and got all of my work done. Suburban in Farmington Hills was rude to me and didn't take me seriously. They're lazy and didn't want to do the work my car needed. I will never go there again.

Steve Hubel, New Car Sales Mgr for VW, very politely and efficiently resolved an issue with my 2013 VW Conv Beetle. I purchased a wind guard with my new car and was given the wind guard in a 'weird' carrier. Recently discovered the 'weird' carrier for the wind guard is supposed to be stored in the top of the trunk. But my car did not have the brackets for such storage. Steve resolved what the previous Sales Mgr and Salesman completely missed and got the brackets installed! Thank you Steve Hubel! This is my second VW Beetle Convertible and I'll be back for a third when I'm ready! Great dealership! They car about their customers and make the extra effort!!

I was in Novi, MI for an appointment with my son. The car leaked and then gushed coolant leaving us stranded 2 1/2 hours from home on a Friday of a holiday weekend. After recommending a towing service, Scott Thomsen made arrangements to have my car looked at right away. The service department determined what was wrong and fixed the problem so that I could get home that day, saving me hundreds of dollars in rental car costs. Scott kept me informed, telling me what they found and always giving me the options that I had. He spoke to me with respect and not as though I wasn't capable of understanding car mechanics. My car arrived at 10:30 am and I was on the way home at 2:00 pm.

Today I leased my second VW a Jetta, I work in the customer service industry and I have always been impressed with Suburban VW of Farmington Hills experience because it is not a service it is an experience when you go there. I would recommend Joe Shannon as stand out salesman, his attention to detail, customer circumstances, and ease of negotiations is phenomenal. Darren the finance manager was not pushy or forceful as many experiences with finance managers can be. Ill be back for number 3 hopefully before this lease is up again!

In the beginning, I must say our internet buying experience was terrible at best. The dealership is located in Farmington Hills, Michigan and we are residents of Mobile, Al. (900 plus miles away) After extensive research of the vehicle, I decided on a Volkswagen CC. I surf the net and came across Suburban Imports and the car I wanted. I called the dealership and made a connection with a salesman (Charles Martin) who promised to call us back. A few days later we contacted the dealership and spoke with Shira (the internet sales manager) who had the audacity to ask us "what made you call us, is there not a VW dealership in your area?? After leaving numerous phone messages, we are still waiting on a return call from Christina (one of the managers) After a month long of lies and back and forth, unreturned phone calls, broken promises, and being passed off to other salesmen and even managers, the dealership finally made a great pass off to Mr. Joe Shannon. Finally some one took us seriously and valued our time. After agreeing upon a price, we communicated back and forth through, phone calls, e-mails, and text messages. Unbeknownst to Joe, my husband and I flew out to Detroit Wayne Airport, a day earlier. The Airport is located 25 miles way from the hotel and the Farmington Hills dealership. Not knowing anyone in the area, my husband give Joe an unexpected phone call. Joe arranged for a courtesy transport to the hotel. The very next day, my husband and I prepared for a taxi ride to the dealership, when expectedly we got a call from Joe who had arranged for transportation for us to the dealership. The driver himself was a very pleasant older gentleman who gave us a little history on the area. Upon our arrival at the dealership, Joe Shannon greeted us with a warm smile and a handshake. He told us everything about the car. All the ins and outs. Joe was very pleasant, polite, professional and very knowledgeable about the car. He was unlike the typical "commission minded only" Car Salesman. He seemed more like a friend. Joe made the buying process was painless, smooth, and easy. Joe had prepared the contracts and all the paper work before we arrived, so all we needed to do was test drive and sign. Even after the buying process Joe, led us back to the hotel to make sure we made it back safely. A few weeks after the sale we encountered a few problems with registering the car with our local DMV in Mobile. I text Joe with our problems and he had the items corrected fed ex them to us. (Who does that ?) I must say that Joe Shannon was and is an asset to this dealership. Just when we were about to give up on this dealership in walks Joe Shannon to save the day ! I can't really say enough about Joe Shannon he is great at what he does. Thank again Joe, we LOVE our 2014 Volkswagen CC !

I have to say that Clarence Carpenter, my salesman is by far the most genuine and caring salesman I've ever dealt with. I feel that now I have a friend now that cares about me and has my best interest in mind. Dave the sales manager is so numerous and also cares and does what it takes to make the sale. I'm a customer for life The VW Passat is an amazing vehicle as well so I had a winning and beyond all expectations experience.

Needless to say: I am an unhappy customer. Let me explain further.Went to this dealer to get negotiate a lease. Entered into an agreement, paid deposit and signed a contract stating explicitly the payment upfront, monthly payment and trade-in price. On the day the lease was approved and we went to them to pick up the car, they changed their mind, asking for another $35 more per month on the lease. They would not abide by the terms that we signed on and threatened to keep the deposit if we did not agree to sign the new terms. Eventually, we managed to leave the dealer and got our deposit back, but it was certainly not a pleasant experience when a dealer tried to maximize their profit in such a dishonest way.

I have just recently moved o USA and it is not easy to move around without a car, I walked into VW showroom to see if i can purchase a car for my daily use. Nick was my sales agent, he was very friendly and quickly pointed out the deals VW was running for foreign country professionals. I took a week or two after that to close the deal, there was no pestering or constant phone calls. Once i made my decision i gave them a call and they had the car ready in 2 days with all registration done.Thanks guys, keep up the good work.

I just bought a 2014 Jetta SE and I was a marvelous experience! I was always leery about going to dealerships but I was definitely put at ease while there. My car had just stopped for the last time . I met James Powell while finding out the issue(s) concerning my Nissan...We spoke briefly but it was intriguing. A few days later I came back on a whim ( not remembering who he was), and was greeted warmly. Within 15 min I was in a car test driving and a little while later driving away with my brand new 2014 Jetta se!!! I just want to say I'm so thankful to GOD for this dealership!!!! James & David worked so hard to get my deal through, Even when it looked like a no go... David said hold I'm going to try something else and it worked!!!! I had very little car buying experience. I agreed for all extended warranties and protection plans while buying my new GTI. When I realized that they were not worthy and I could cancel them, I went back to the dealership to get them canceled. I had a very bad experience as the business manager did not show any interest in answering my questions though I did business with them. He later asked me to step out of his room to check on a customer. I tried to be nice but this was an insult to me so I decided to never go back to this dealership ever again.I don't see a problem in dealerships making money through extended warranties but I expect to see them care the same way, as they do at the time of purchase, when a customer wants to cancel these contracts.

Worst follow up and judgmental employees.they charge you thousands for parts and they don't deserve a 5 star rating .. had a problem with my car service and the dealership sided with the insurance company instead of siding with the customer.of course that's after I paid the balance in full so they got their money .beyond that point the pay don't care screwing the customer and you will be forgotten the minute you walk out of there

Hi,I wanted to lease a car and my employer suggested that I consider Volkswagen - and particularly VW of Farmington Hills, MI. I was also recommended Dan Kelley's name to deal with. I was working in Harrisburg,PA on a contract and it was difficult for me to commute to Farmington Hills, MI but after speaking and doing all the paperwork, Dan kept my vehicle ready for me to pick up. When I finally went to Farmington Hills, I was pleasantly surprised by the warmth and greeting by Dan ( I have dealt with plenty of pushy salespeople before). Even though I selected my vehicle before I came to Farmington Hills, at last moment I had to change to another vehicle. Dan not only accepted my late decision but the dealership did not have the trim that I chose. So he searched the other dealers in Michigan to get the trim that I wanted and ordered a new vehicle to be delivered to the showroom. He changed all the paperwork for the new vehicle.After getting the trim that I wanted he specifically asked me if I was "happy". This for me was unheard of before. Dan not only did what a great salesman would do but he went "above and beyond" and made me feel special. I would highly recommend him. We had great experience with Sales Clarence Carpenter. He's very knowledgeable about VW cars, and we were able to test drive the cars all by ourselves. He's willing to negotiate pricing with us and we get a very good lease price (slightly below national ad). We found a tiny paint chip on the hook the second day we have the car, we are not sure if it was there at the beginning or what. They send us a touch up paint by mail anyway. Very nice.

He spends time with you and LISTENS to what you are saying. He knows his stuff and he knows his inventory. Going into this process, I had originally been looking at buying a cheap used vehicle. Once we started to look at the price difference when it came to gas mileage; however, we started to lean towards leasing a good vehicle that could be great with gas. We ended up getting in touch with Edward Addison here at Suburban of Farmington Hills. He definitely was understanding and was able to show us anything that we wanted. I was looking at the Mazda 3 and 6 at first; but, Ed was pointing out that we should keep an open mind so he showed us the Jetta. He showed us how the Mazdas and the Jetta were similar and also their differences, took us on test drives of each vehicle, and allowed me to narrow down the choices to what I wanted. He made it clear that the VW Jetta was going to be a sturdy vehicle made to survive accidents that would be of the Autobahn caliber. Ed also made sure that I was able to have whatever choice I wanted for the trim packages and colors. After debating for a little while, I decided on the VW Jetta. Ed made sure that I didn't settle on the vehicle and gave a great price for it. When I was finally ready to take the car off the lot, it was found that the car would need a day or two for repairs because a part was proactively recalled by VW and the car hadn't gotten it switched out yet. Ed didn't want me to drive a vehicle he didn't feel absolutely great about; because of this, he told me that I could leave the car for a few days, they would get it fixed, and he'd give me a demo in the meantime. I was extremely satisfied and thankful for Ed's attention to detail and caring service. I would most definitely work with him again.

I have been dealing with Dan Kelley for the past 4 years. Everyone who I have referred to him liked him a lot. He always keeps me informed when they have new deals. This time around, I wasnt even in the market for a new car. He reached out to me indicating a new special they have. I went there driving my 2010 CC and left driving a 2012 Passat. Dan provides great service and is very personable. I have been dealing with this dealership for the past 4 years and will continue on doing so for myself and family.

My experience with the people at Suburban Volkswagen was impressive. I had been in a terrible accident, and in need of a new car. The catch was I didn't want any car; the accident had left me thankful for my life yet fearful to be on the road. Walking into the Volkswagen dealer, at Suburban Imports of Farmington Hills, I was anxious to say the least. A single young woman, like me, walking into any dealer alone certainly seems foolish. I had researched excessively however, and felt confident I knew what I was looking for. I was armed with consumer reports, customer reviews, as well as my arresting nature. As it turned out, though, I wasted my time neurotically researching and worrying of my defense. I was welcomed by Edward Addison, and within moments felt comfortable I was in good hands. I asked many questions and Edward had an answer for each. Edward went above and beyond, showing me every facet of safety the 2012 VW Jetta was armed with. It seemed that Edward could sense that I was no longer comfortable driving, and made sure to prove I would be safe in the vehicle. Feeling safe and confident in my purchase is priceless to me. Additionally, the superior service I consistently receive at Suburban Volkswagen is impressive. I hope this saves many people the hours they could potentially spend at other dealers. Time is precious, and so is great service.

Janell Taylor made purchasing my new Volkswagen, a pleasant experience!! As I browsed the automotive ads shopping for a car, I sent out several e-mail messages looking for quotes to purchase. To my surprise, I received a reply within a half hour of my request, and not an automated reply! Inquiries were made as to what I was looking for to place me in the vehicle "I wanted". Over the course of the following week, correspondence wasboth informational and timely through phone calls and e-mail messages concerning looking at cars, test driving, and financing through to purchase. Everyone was friendly and helpful, not pushy or overbearing. After the purchase, I received follow-up contact assuring satisfaction with my purchase. Janell was great , this was my first new car and I was extremely picky as to what I wanted. Janell went out of her way to find me the GTI I wanted with the specs I wanted at a fair price. She always kept me updated throughout the process as she searched for my car whether it was through voicemail or email and made the whole process overall a breeze. If i do purchase another VW ( which I'm sure I will!) it will be through Ms. Taylor. she comes with my recommendations no questions asked!

My wife and I had a fantastic experience in purchasing our 2012 Jetta TDI. Janell (and everyone we worked with) was friendly, professional, honest, not pushy, and genuinely interested in meeting our needs. Janell ensured we were able to test drive a number of vehicles and nicely explained the features and benefits of each. If she didn't have an answer (and that was rare), she quickly got one. Janell and the dealership went out of their way to get exactly the car we wanted and were great about working with us on price. All of our questions were promptly answered and follow up has been excellent. We would be pleased to work with Janell again should we be in the market for another VW.

Service center is AWFUL! I'd rather chew my own arm off than go back there! Manager John Sejuitt and mechanic/technician Bill are unhelpful, unorganized, and incompetent. My car wouldn't start one night so I called and made an appointment the next morning for it to be towed up there and checked out. Thought they would be the best option since I drive a VW. They said they would call me around 2pm, I had to call at 4pm to find out that they FORGOT to look at my car. They refused to give me a rental after they told me they would since I work in Ann Arbor. They took a week to replace a fuel filter because they "had to order one from Germany" which turned out to be complete bs, they just couldn't figure out what was wrong with it that night (at first they thought it was a bad sensor). Two days after I got my car back from them, and a thousand dollars later, my car wouldn't start. Now I was obligated to go back there a second time. I finally got a rental only to be treated with horrible customer service, as if I was a burden because they couldn't fix the problem the first time. I had to call and pester them for updates because their customer service is so awful. Two weeks later they decided to blame it on bad gas. I'm still not sure if that was even true but at least my car runs now! Next time I will have it towed 40 miles back to Ann Arbor to Howard Cooper Imports!!!

i really feel bad for anyone who buys from these people, as they are ignorant to how very over-priced the dealer is - this goes for ALL suburban collection...the sales manager was kinda cocky too - took as smart-alecky tone with me.
