The Baucom family go out of their way to make your buying experience as hassle free and enjoyable as possible. I appreciate their honesty and willingness to work with the customer in order to find a car that fits their needs. You won't find a better place to buy a used car. We had no connection to Tarheel Auto Sales in advance of our first visit and we are so glad we made the 45 minute drive. I've already recommended them to several neighbors and friends who might be looking for used cars soon. The quality of the cars on the lot is great and the low pressure, but high touch customer service was second to none. Friendly, knowledgeable staff!!

My husband and I have bought a truck from this dealership a few years ago. I am always checking their website, We rode by and saw a beautiful Toyota Cruiser. I came home researched and the only reason I did not return was the gas mileage of the Cruiser. So we are still looking, however I would not hesitate to buy from Tar-heel Auto Sales again.

I had a great experience at this dealership! I was looking to buy a Honda CR-V and the one they had available had everything that I wanted. I first met Larry the owner whom let me take the car out on a test drive by myself and later I met James, his son, who was so nice and patient with me. I applied for financing and got an answer back within 15 mins. Came back a week later and they had ordered mats for my new vehicle and I got a t shirt!! Nice family ran business. Would buy from Tarheel Auto again!

We car shopped for months for my teenager but kept coming back to Tarheel Auto. To start, I loved their website! Great pictures and very detailed. Next was the friendly service we received when test driving a couple of their cars. Never did we feel pressured to make a purchase that day. Loved that part though we knew there was always the chance our favorite car could be sold. Luckily, it wasn't and we were able to come back and experience the smoothest car buying process ever! I took 1/2 day off work expecting to be there for hours...about one hour was it!!! I was amazed! I'm so glad I listened to my friends that had already made purchases from them. Best car buying experience ever!

I am from the area, but moved 2.5 hours away for work. When it was time to buy a car, I came back home to Tarheel because I wanted to deal with people I knew I could trust. They make the car "shopping" and car buying process simple and straightforward...with no pressure! Was never treated as someone they needed to sell something to, but rather as someone they really wanted to help through the process. Tarheel really does treat you like family!

James took the time, LISTENED and helped me find the right car for me and what my needs were...They are family owned and are honorable, trustworthy people who stand behind what they say and sell (watch video, Larry is 100% correct) - It is worth a drive over, stop and ask anyone in the community about Tarheel and they will tell you the same thing. I give my highest recommendation, I will not buy a vehicle from anyone else ever.

Found a wonderful Nissan Maxima that upon further recommendation by the staff was made even better by adding after market leather interior... only reason you knew this car was used was by looking at the miles on the odometer...was told by James that he didn't like the wear on the front tires and he replaced both at no cost to us before we picked the car up...and this was AFTER we made the deal for the car...this is our second purchase here and we are looking a few years out for our next purchase!!

After searching for a long time for a certain vehicle (Toyota Scion XB), and being frustrated trying to deal with BIG Charlotte dealers, won the lottery by finding Tarheel Auto. Just a short drive from the City, I found this gem of a dealer in the mellow, quaint town of Locust, NC. It reminded me of dealing with my small home-town dealers where I grew up in Eastern NC as a young man. No pressure, excellent dealings, fair pricing, straight shooting, great service. There is nothing in the process that I could have asked more of. Trustworthy square-dealing is an uncommon experience these days, but not here. I am an old business man, and I know a great business when I see it. Take a look online, then take a short drive in the beautiful countryside and expect a top-rate experience with these folks. And, no - I never met them before and they could not pay me to say these things. They're simply true.

Found my new 4Runner online after having my 98 for over 12 years. I kept looking at others but kept coming back to the one from Tarheel Auto Sales. After 5 weeks of coming back to this one, I contacted them and they worked with me in every way possible. I am from SC so I took a 2hr ride and it was worth every mile. They are an amazing group and family owned business. I studied over all of the reviews and they were all right. This is for sure the place to go for you next auto. I have told everyone about them and how honest they are. They are not pushy like other car lots and they are on top of your needs and help in anyway they can to make it happen. They had everything ready for me when I got there and I was in and out within 30 mins of completing paperwork. Awesome group of people and you will not be unhappy with them at all!!! Happy riding

After car shopping for quite a while, I decided to drive a little over a hour with my mother and younger sons to check out the only Maxima on the lot. This is a family owned business and one of the friendliest group of people I have met. They were all very nice and outgoing. Great customer service and not to mention my boys enjoyed their goodies. Overall the car buying experience was easy, smooth and not so stressful. I would like to again extend my appreciation. I absolutely love my 2010 Maxima!

I felt James to be a very honest and helpful salesman. No pressure, no games. Also they had a very high quality of inventory, and very reasonable pricing to boot.. The Nissan I test drove was in beautiful condition and felt like a new one. I hope someday to do business with him.

We had a wonderful experience at Tarheel!!! The dealership did not have what we were looking for on the lot, but they took us into the office, and within 15 minutes Larry had a car pulled up on the internet that matched exactly what we wanted. The car was sitting on the lot within 4 days waiting for us to take a look. We were assured from the beginning that we were under no circumstances obligated to this car if it did not meet our expectations. Once we saw the car, we were very pleased, and the few minor areas of concern were corrected with no issues at all. My car needed to go to a Ford dealership for some computer updates, and Tarheel took care of transporting my car to the dealership, and even loaned me a car to drive. We will certainly return to Tarheel for additional car needs!

We went there today, and left with the purchase of a car! We are two college aged students with little credit history. We had a trade in, which they took, and valued the car at the appropriate value, and paid our remaining balance on it. They worked with us for quite some time until everything was worked out. We were able to find a perfect car for us, work out the kinks, and get financed! It took a few hours to do all of this but it was the most enjoyable experience we have had at a place like this. They were patient with us, and talked to us like we were normal people instead of just another transaction. We probably ended up just talking for like an hour of the time we were there which was extremely reassuring. They offered to fix everything on the vehicle that we wanted taken care of and looked at, and we now feel confident that we have the perfect vehicle for us. I would definitely love to continue doing business with this dealership, and I would recommend to ANYONE to go here, and let them help you out!
