Absolute disappointment. After being a client since 2003, will never return for a Toyota here. Long story short, we went in about a month ago and received paperwork for a particular Camry that would be in at the end of this month. We told the salesman to call us when it came in, he acknowledged and said he would. Today, we went in to get our 4Runner serviced that we bought brand new from them 2 years ago, and guess what? the Camry was there, but no phone call. To make matters worse, we were there only by coincidence because our 4Runner had a nail in the tire, if that hadn’t been the case, when would the phone call have came in? To drive the nail in the head, and to explain why this review is so negative, the car sold today without us ever receiving a phone call of its arrival and by us only finding out by coincidence. Now, I completely understand, legally they can’t put a car on hold, but a 1 minute phone call would have been nice saying, “Hey, you’re first on the list to see the car, but someone is here right now to buy it, do you want to put money down?”. But this would never have happened if we had received a call saying the car had arrived or was about to arrive. Again, I understand we live in an era where cars are a hot commodity, sold before they even arrive on the lot, and the salesman make their money with us or someone else. But as a business owner in the county, where’s the customer service to a loyal client since 2003? This should be an easy fix for the salesman, by no way shape or form am I trying to get him in trouble, but rather, I hope he can keep is word from now on, I’m sure he’s a great salesman.

Went with my daughter to buy her new car. Big thanks to Bob and Justin! They were very kind and knowledgeable. They took time to explain everthing thoroughly to my daughter. All the staff we encountered were very kind, great customer service. They worked with my daughter to get her the best deal. Everyone here is super generous and kind and didn't put any pressure on me that many other car dealerships did. Mr. Bill ended up selling me my car and he made the whole process so pain free and easy to understand. I just bought my new Camry today! I have to say the dealership has fantastic customer service!! I worked with Sean Lyons who sold me the car I wanted from the Internet. He worked with Justin who helped me get a good interest rate, and he clearly explained the papers to me. They both worked with a person that loaded and delivered the car--to my house! There is truly a team effort going on at Thompsons Toyota. All of the staff there is top-notch.! Sean, my sales associate, was courteous, gave me the information that I needed to make my decisions, and worked with me on obtaining my Camry. I have a lot going on in the house with elderly parents and I'm teaching summer school. When Sean said he could do things over the phone and have the car delivered to my house--it was exactly what I needed! I didn't have the time to do it the traditional way. I really appreciate how Sean handled the entire sales transaction!! Love my Camry!!

This dealership is GREAT! They made my first car buying experience easy and enjoyable! We scheduled an appointment same day, drove hours to get there and they greeted us with respect and smiles. Matt Smith was very friendly and easy to talk to especially during a test drive. He wasn't like a typical salesman pushing a vehicle on you. Paul was great to work with on getting the right price that worked for my budget. He was very friendly and made sure the family was well stocked with water and snacks. Bill McCarty was so personable and walked us through the paperwork! Craig was very helpful and to the point in explaining the finance aspect! While the banks closed that day earlier than expected, the team came up with an alternate method and allowed me to take the vehicle home same day! This was my first car buying experience and I have to say even though I live hours away, they have earned my service for the future. The friendly atmosphere and care they have for their customers has paid off! Thank you Thompsons Toyota!!

I had finally made the decision to buy a new car and started doing a lot of internet research. I went into Thompson's Friday afternoon to take a look around. I never once felt pressured or rushed to make a decision. I found the car I really wanted (RAV4). Craig Amolsch was great...he really made me feel comfortable and welcomed. I've been looking at Camry's and found a 2014 that I liked at Thompsons Toyota. On my way up to the dealership Dave Somberg called me to let me know that the car had sold and was sorry. He then asked me to come by anyways and check out his inventory if I wanted (No Pressure). I test drove a few and fell in love with a 2016 Camry. Dave did the math right in front of me and for 3,000 more I got new car instead of the used 2 year old one. The whole process was painless and there was no pushing to buy from Dave. A friend of mine recommended Dave to me and I would recommend him to anyone who is looking to get a car and have a great experience. Dave Somberg was great, nice, funny, honest and helpful. I visited Thompson's toyota twice in my travels for a new car, at the very beginning and the very end. I wasn't quite ready to settle on a car 2 weeks ago and felt no pressure to do so. Then I explored the Sacramento region and felt uncomfortable with how I was being treated, how often I was contacted, and several instances of misinformation. Circling back to Thompson's once I was completely sure what I wanted was the best decision I made. Roy was extremely helpful, understood my needs and what I was looking for and never took advantage of my age. The paperwork was seamless and even once it was completed, Roy took the time to help me synch my phone with the car, go over all the features so I get the most out of my brand new car. Highly recommended this dealership!

I found the vehicle I was looking for through Cars.com. I received a quick response by email and followed up by phone. I drove from the Bay Area to look at the car and worked with Nicole Armstrong. I found Nicole to be very helpful and knowledgeable. I never felt pressured by anyone and the process went faster than expected. I was pleased that they were willing to negotiate and purchased the vehicle. I would recommend Thompson's to my friends.

I used the online experience to buy my truck thru trucar.When I was contacted I was told they had my truck on the lot. After a three hour drive I found out they didn't but could get it from Reno, so sales trick #1. I was told to come back at 5 the next day so long drive back and wait till 8 because of traffic haha. I just used my navigation in my new truck and found out the truck was programmed to go to MUSTANG RANCH so while I waited there driver used my truck and went to a whore house WOW and I had to explain that to my wife who was with me #2 not professional. We agreed on 1000 under MSRP so when I got to financing the numbers didn't add up the man in financing told me no its 1000 over invoice #3 dishonest sales staff ( all prices quoted on trucar were prices off MSRP) Then to top it off they told me weight fees were not included.#4 sales dishonest. I HAVE NEVER HAD SUCH A BAD EXPERIENCE DONT BUY HERE IF YOU DO WATCH OUT THE SALES STAFF THINK THEY ARE CLEVER AND WILL TRY DISHONEST SALES TECHNIQUES!!

My husband, Greg, and I came to Thompson's Toyota on Sunday, August 16, 2015 to purchase a new 2015 Toyota Highlander. We came upon this dealership through their website and saw a car we liked. Our sales associate, Craig, was very very helpful and not pushy like the previous Toyota dealership we had looked at the day before (sorry,Roseville Toyota). The whole new car purchase went extremely well and from our initial assistance from Craig to his supervisor and then the finance gentleman, Robert Amador. We had specific numbers that we needed to stay within and the dealership worked with us completely. Although, we came from the Citrus Heights area to look for a car at Thompson's which was a distance, I would highly recommend taking the trip up there to Placerville. I give top marks to Thompsons Toyota of Placerville. This rating is due to Mike Coppola who provided "over the top" service as the salesman by shopping the requested features ahead of time and streamlining the process when I bought my new car. I was impressed with his professionalism and expertise. I felt as though I was treated to a five star overall experience akin to shopping at a Mercedes dealership. Highly recommend anyone shopping for a Toyota ask for Mike.

My husband and I did our homework and decided on the Camry SE as the car that would best serve our needs.We went on line and found all the dealers in the surrounding 100 miles.We spend most of our time in Nevada and therefore Toyota dealers are few and far between.Thompson Toyota in Placerville is about 90 miles away from our house but they were the only ones who answered our emails promptly and actually had the model we wanted.They actually have an on line sales department.They brought the price down to where it was rated "as low as" and we even got an extra package that made the interior just wonderful.They offered us a very generous price for my trade in and they had everything ready for us when we arrived.They actually had a very helpful checklist with all the stuff we needed to bring.Tony Biondi, the online sales man, was great.Lance the manager of the sales department helped with all the final arrangements.Robert Amador in financing was super patient and able to answer all our questions.When we arrived, EVERYTHING was READY! Amazing!A beautiful facility with a super nice staff.This is a place I would not mind waiting while my car is being serviced.This was the best car buying experience my husband and I have EVER had...and we are in our mid 60s.Great ServiceGreat PlaceGreat Staffand Great Price!Thank you very much!

While searching for the best price on a new Tacoma I was trading emails and playing phone tag with almost 10 different dealerships in Reno, Carson City, South Lake Tahoe, Placerville, and even Sacramento. Toni Biondi not only got back to me the fastest (10-15 emails back and forth the SAME DAY I emailed him originally), he also offered me an amazing deal right from the start! No haggling, no hassle, and no waiting wondering when I was going to get a response! His online customer service is top notch! and I have no doubt that when I arrive to pick up my truck our business done in person will be easy, professional, and all together out of the park!! Even after I buy my truck I will continue working WITH Toni for all my truck parts, services, and needs!!I would recommend anyone having issues with another dealership/sales person to get ahold of Toni right away! Once you do its smooth sailing all the way. I purchased a 2014 Prius Plug-in at Thompson's because they aren't available in Colorado. I was told over the phone that I could drive it off the lot and not pay CA sales tax. When I arrived at Thompson's, I signed all the paperwork and was prepared to spend a long weekend enjoying the Sierra Nevadas. Unfortunately, as soon as the sale was over, I was told I could not take possession of the car in California and that I would have to ride (in my new car) while someone else drove it to Nevada. At that point I felt entrapped in the sale (and stranded in California). I asked if I could drive the car, but was declined due to the chauffeur not feeling comfortable. Instead, I was able to feel uncomfortable by the reckless, aggressive driving up the mountains to Lake Tahoe that ultimately left me feeling sick.. I was concerned about breaking in the car properly and when I expressed my concern on multiple occasions, I was told "There isn't a break in period on new cars". After all of this, the driver took a personal call on their cell without bluetooth for over 5 minutes. Sick, frustrated and concerned all within the first 70 miles of the new car experience. Once I returned home, I was surprised to see there IS a break in procedure explicitly detailed in the manual. All of the recommended procedures were broken in the first drive up to Tahoe by the Thompson's employee even after I had asked for them to drive the car gently. I called Thompson's immediately and they said all I needed to do was get an oil change. I then escalated this issue to Toyota Corp. who told me that someone from Thompson's would reach out to me with 48 hours. It has been a week now and I have not been contacted. This dealership will promise you the world.. until the sale is completed. Pay the extra 100-500 dollars at a reputable dealer. I would not advise anyone to do business with Thompson's.

Last month I went into Thompson's Toyota to look at a new SUV. I was told that Sunday when I went in, that I was approved, but to come back on Monday so that they could call Toyota Financial Services to see if they could get me a better rate (since I have a Corolla through TFS). When I went back on Monday morning, the sales people and finance manager I had worked with the day before were not in. I ended up dealing with the finance manager, Shannon, who didn't bother calling TFS, and told me that I didn't qualify and that it would be a waste of everyone's time for him to call. Shannon didn't bother running anything for me because I "flat out couldn't qualify" for what I wanted. So I went straight down to Folsom Lake Toyota, who all were very friendly and guess what? I was qualified no problem, got a better interest rate than Thompson's had said they were going to "try" and get me, and I ended up with a more loaded version of the same model for a better price than Thompson's. When I went back to Thompson's to get my paperwork back (pay stubs, proof of residence, etc.), I showed up in my new SUV from Folsom Lake and I told them how they qualified me no problem and how big of a jerk (in more or less of terms) that Shannon was, and they're only response was that "there's a 10 day right of rescission" and that "I'll end up having to take the car back". Well it's been over a month now, made payments already, spoke to the lender and there's no rescission and we're extremely happy with our new car and the service and price we were able to get at Folsom Lake Toyota over the horrible experience from Thompson's.

We purchased our first Prius from Thompsons in 2007 and we are on our second one at the moment and have had every scheduled service done at Thompsons even though we have to drive 50 mi each way to get it done. Attentive to every detail, prompt, courteous and knowledgeable defines their Service dept. AND, they provide all the comfort food necessary to make your wait even more enjoyable. My wife and I usually dread buying cars for all the usual reasons. Not only was this experience not dreadful it was actually enjoyable. Our salesman, Ajita Sherer, was very helpful to us in the process of making our selection without all of the usual high pressure sales tactics I associate with car sales. Ajita was assisted by Kyle Sherer who was also a pleasure to work with. When the Sales Manager, Ryan Turner, introduced himself I thought, "Here it comes, it's time for the whole sit and wait game." but it didn't happen. He was genuinely friendly, honest and to the point. When the time came to sign the papers, the Finance Manager, Shannon Burke, was likewise a pleasure to work with and explained the paperwork in a way that made it clear and easy to understand. While we were waiting for the truck to be washed, we were invited to meet with the Jim Batten, the Service Advisor, and again he was very friendly and explained clearly what the service package that came with our new truck included. This was, without a doubt, the most pleasant and enjoyable car buying experience my wife and I have ever had and we would both happily recommend Thompson Toyota to anyone.

I spoke with two managers to secure a deal over the course of four days before I drove 6 hours (one way) to trade in my Tacoma and purchase a Tundra. They confirmed the deal four times. When I arrived, Terry and Tony both backed out on the deal they had guaranteed. While they paid for my gas, my time was absolutely wasted because of their greed. They made up some story to get me to leave. Terry promised me that he would make the deal happen after I had left. That was a lie too. I called and emailed them several timesno answer, no response. This was absolutely the worst experience I've had with a dealership.

Great car buying experience! Mr Bill was thoroughly knowledgeable and it felt like we'd known him forever.. We didn't know we were going to buy a Toyota Highlander when we stopped by the dealership to 'look'. There was no pressure. He had to find our car at another dealership, but made it all happen. Negotiations are always awkward, but we felt they really made a deal that was right for us, as well as the dealership.Mr Thompson, happened to be in the dealership that day, and made a point to introduce himself to us and thank us for keeping our business local. They even put a big red bow on the car when we went to pick it up. That was a bucket list item...not anymore! We look forward to a continued relationship with Thompsons Toyota.

Service on all four of our toyotas was very unprofessional, oil under filled, service recommended that was not required, cost more than double as compared to competitive shops, consumer beware! Management not concerned about loyal customer retention.

I contacted Ryan about a Toyota Avalon that was advertised on web site for further info. I advised Ryan that I live in Nevada, but I am comparing prices to a local dealer. His response was " no problem, anything I can do to help with your decision" what a great attitude from a retail sales person who might not even a get the sale at the end. Armed with internet ad. and info from talking with Ryan I purchased my Avalon locally matching Thompson's price. Bottom line is, Ryan Turner is a true professional, showing me that customer satisfaction and support is not just lip service. In the future when anybody comments that they might be interested in purchasing a new Toyota, I will make sure they contact Ryan first before looking anywhere. He is definitely an asset.

This is the second vehicle that we have purchased from Thompsons Toyota In Placerville. We don't live in the area, but this place is well worth passing up the 10 dealerships that are closer to my house. There is completely no pressure to purchase a vehicle and every staff member is extremely courteous and personable. The process to purchase my 2013 Toyota Tacoma today was quick, easy and a pleasant experience. The price of the vehicle that I purchased was below blue book and MSRP, very excited to get a good deal! The selection of vehicles is perfect, there are many choices but not so many that you lose track of what you are looking for. I have been to many car dealerships and I have never been this satisfied with the staff, prices and overall experience. By the way, the complimentary snacks, sodas and waters in the lobby are awesome as well!

We drove up from the Bay Area to get the best price possible and were very happy with the laid back manner of the folks at Thompsons. Yes, they're car salesmen and they have their script, but they don't push things on you and the price is the price - no need to haggle. We paid less for a brand new car than we would've paid for a used one. Can't go wrong.

I purchased a 2011 Toyota Tacoma from Thompsons about a month ago. The sales experience was low pressure, Amber was great and I got the truck for a good price. I had to take it back in for a shimmy during breaking (warped front rotors) and a shimmy at highway speeds. They took care of the breaks immediately but found the the highway shimmy was caused by defective tires (they looked almost brand new). Instead of just telling me" its yours you bought it", they offered to replace the tires at no cost. unfortunately the tires they were willing to pay for were not what I wanted. After some discussion I kicked in $100.00 and got tires that will work for me. Thompsons went the extra mile to take care of me. I will be happy to continue to use there service department and when I am in the market for another Toyota they will be my first choice.

Having Reno so close traveling from Truckee to Placerville seemed like a bother but it wasn't. Both Tony and Cooper where great to meet. We felt they were honest men doing an honest job and giving us the best feedback within their knowledge. Both men were friendly and not pushy in the least. They seemed matter of fact and down to earth. This was the first time I have ever driven a brand new car off the lot and it was a very pleasing one. After the "deal" was done, Cooper took the time to show me some iphone things within the computer system in the Sienna and pointed out how to make our garage door open within the rear view mirror - very cool! I would recommend these two guys to my closest friends and feel like I could call them on a question about the Sienna and have immediate feedback. We tried to take a Toyota photo of both me and my husband jumping up in the air but couldn't get the framing right! Now it's up to you to visualize two 40ish kids jumping - Yahoo Toyota Sienna, you make us want to go on a road trip, Bryce Canyon maybe?

I am extremely pleased with my buying experience at Thompson's Certfied Center in Cameron Park. Due to my schedule, the purchase was a 2 day process, so I had the opportunity to deal with Steve, Jim and Chuck. I can't say enough about the professional, courteous, patient and consistent treatment I received from all three of them. In all my years buying cars , I have never seen or experienced more honest and consistent treatment from an entire crew. Steve, Jim and Chuck exceeded all of my expectations, and I look forward to my next vehicle purchase, where my first stop will certianly be at Thompsons Certified Center in Cameron Park.

My wife and I had heard recommendations regarding Thompsons from relatives, so after seeing some very attractive deals on their website, decided to take the ride up from Sacramento. We met Jim Roth in the salesroom. He was very personable, sincere, and knowledgeable about the car we had in mind. Having previously only purchased new vehicles from a family memeber in the auto business, we can honestly say that the experience with Jim and the Thompsons crew was just as considerate. The process was straightforward, relaxed, and hassle free. I am already eager for the next chance we can purchase from this dealership! P.S. From the time we entered the lot until we drove off in a new Camry was under 2 and a half hours.

Very very happy with the buying experiance at the used car center in Cameron Park. Steve and Chuck were beyond easy to deal with and I never felt that "pressure" you get when you go to the hugh car outlets. Steve worked out a great deal on my trade in and I drove away with what my wife and I wanted. Would most def recommend Thompson's to a friend looking fro a car.

I am 56 years old and have never had a car buying experience like this, Chuck was great. This was my daughter's first new car buying experience, so I hung back and let her do all the talking. She was treated with respect, and never talked down to like she had been at other dealers. bottom line... we got a new Camry for the same price as the used one at the lot by her house. The drive from Davis to Placerville was well worth it, and we will make it again for my next car purchase. The funniest part of the sale was when the sales manager came into Chuck's cubicle and said this was the part where they took my daughter in the back office and sold her all the bells and whistles and extended plans. He stopped and said, "nah, let's skip that". I left the lot feeling like we had all won. I wish I could say more about how great this experience was.

So we pulled up to the Thompsons Used Dealership and we were expecting to be swarmed by sales associates, but weren't. We went straight to the lot and Ray walks out and says hello. He was awesome. He was very polite and helpful. I will tell all my friends to go see Ray when they go get buy a car. Thank you Ray.

Relaxed, easy, professional, straight forward Dealer. Every step of the deal was very clear and easy to understand. If you are like most people that don't like how car and truck dealer do business, you really should give them a chance. Just go to there website and you can see up front what pricing they will give you. I've been to the local dealers here in Reno area and I don't like how they do there deal.

Thompsons Toyota In Placerville, CA. is by far the best dealership that we have ever purchased a vehicle from. We found an SUV on the internet on the Thompson's website and we drove all the way from Dixon, CA (approx 70 miles). We arrived at the dealership late, but Internet sales representative Toni Biondi was more than happy to help us. There was no pressure to purchase the vehicle. We did 2 test drives on the vehicle and ended up purchasing the vehicle that same night. We finished the purchase around 10PM and the management in the dealership was very friendly throughout the entire process. We drove home that night with the SUV. We noticed on the way home that the steering wheel was shaking and a strong vibration was felt while on the freeway. We tried to ignore that anything may be wrong with the car. On the first oil change, we brought the vehicle to Vacaville Toyota and had them look at the vibrating issue. They told us that the tires were out of balance and they attempted to balance the tires. They were unsuccessful and told us that we would need to purchase 4 new tires. We explained that we just purchased the vehicle at Thompsons Toyota in Placerville. They recommended that we bring the vehicle back. So we called Toni Biondi and he told us to bring it in. We brought it in that same night. The next day we received a call from Ryan Turner that they attempted to balance the tires but were unsuccessful. He told us that they were going to go ahead and put 4 brand new tires on the vehicle, no questions asked. The vehicle was ready that same day for pickup. We drove back up to the dealership and picked up the vehicle and were charged nothing! Thompsons Toyota in Placerville was an awesome car buying experience and they took care of the tire issue- even though we purchased the vehicle as-is. I cannot say enough about how friendly, professional, and helpful Toni and Ryan were at Thompsons. I would strongly recoemmend this dealership to anyone that I know. They stand behind the vehicles that they sell and have a no pressure sales experience. My next Toyota will be purchased from Thompsons.

I recently went to Thompsons because of a used truck I saw through searching their website. After visiting the facility I was greeted by friendly staff and my sales person was quick to help me search for the vehicle. I mistook the mileage and gave him my parameters for the search. I still have not purchased the vehicle, but have been contacted with other options since without the "when are you coming in" type pressure. Great place, would definitely buy here if I could find the vehicle here.

Thompson Toyota earned a customer for life with our latest car purchase. My husband and I were looking to trade in our F-150 for a new Corolla. We decided to make the trip up to Placerville after spending 3-4 hours at a different Toyota dealership being belittled and pushed around to the point where I no longer wanted to give them our business. Thompson's Toyota offered a better amount on our trade in within the first 30 minutes of us being there then it took us "haggling" for 3 hours at the other dealership. Nick, our salesman was wonderful! He didn't want to just sell us any car, he wanted to sell us the car we wanted. Him and Ryan did their best to show us all our options, not only within their dealership, but ALL dealerships within the state of California and surrounding states. This turned out to be the best car buying experience I've ever had. I've bought cars at Roseville Toyota, Future Ford, and Folsom Lake Toyota and truly, this was a fabulous experience! No hassle - the price was the price, they gave me a very fair price for my trade in- no game playing at all which was SOOOO refreshing! I brought my friend and he, too, was super impressed as well. In fact, he was the one who told me about Thompson's after looking at the website told me how great the prices were and the options offered on the RAV4. I absolutely recommend them to anyone - my sales person was Nick Tate and he was very knowledgeable and helpful and then Ryan Turner took care of the financing and then Shannon did the paperwork. Truly a great group & very easy to work with.

After meeting with Tim, I spent a considerable amount of time with Paul as we filled out the paperwork needed to get me on the road. He was very knowledgable and also very personable. We were quickly sharing family stories which made me feel like I was doing business with a long time friend, something one doesn't encounter very often in today's business environment.My next stop was to see Robert Amador. He made me feel right at ease, and he did a fantastic job of explaining each of the many documents that needed to be signed. Nick went out of his way (literally) to meet us at the Thompsons Specialty lot in Cameron Park. He had the truck ready to go on a test drive, explained how the dealership works so our expectations of making a deal were realistic. He was helpful, courteous & had great interpersonal skills relating his sports activities & movie expertise which was very engaging & enjoyable. He helped us with the Carfax in detail & helped me arrive at a price I could live with. I have not had a better car buying experience at a dealership in my life.Ryan also worked integrally with Nick to structure the deal we arrived at. He explained how the dealership worked & was highly sincere & thus credible in doing so. We had been researching looking at Camrys for several months when we came to Thompson's Toyota. We had gone to another dealership to check out their inventory, but were so turned off by their aggresive approach. We felt lucky to be able to get off their lot! Like most people, we dreaded the ringer that you are put through if/when you want to purchase a car. Tony was very friendly and relaxed when he started the initial conversation. During our test drives, he was knowlegeable and was able to answer all of our questions. There literally was NO pressure at all, and that is why we came back after having looked at other dealerships. When we were introduced to Ryan Turner, we braced ourselves for the high-pressure tactics, but were pleasantly surprised that none of that occured. The price of the car was explained to us, along with their trade-in figure (which was very fair), and they left the rest up to us. To top this experience off, they knew we had to be at a family function, so they made the entire transaction quite speedy and swift. Another positive was the appreciated knowledge of Shannon, in the finance dept. Wow, what a nice guy, and very informative. We definitely recommend buying your vehicle at Thompsons Toyota! My husband and I had never been to Thompsons before and when we arrived, we met a very amiable and relaxed salesman named, Jim Roth. He gave us the leisure to look at any car we wanted to, he was knowledgeable about the cars and we were able to test drive multiple vehicles without the pressure to hurry up and pick one, which in turn helped us purchase the perfect truck. Overall, our experience at Thompsons Toyota was completely hassle free and surprisingly an enjoyable experience.

Overall, Thompson Toyota was a good experience. We drove from Tahoe to Placerville. They had our car waiting for us ready for a test drive. Thompson's had lots of snacks, T.V. and drinks for the kids. The paperwork was fast and even though we had a prior bankruptcy the payment was fair and the terms reasonable. I would recommend Thompson's to anyone who wants a no hassle, straight forward car buying experience!

First off let me say I shopped and researched before buying my 2012 Prius for quite a while. I shopped around at several dealers and this was one of the best I came across on the west coast. The biggest thing for personally was the honesty. I sent out requests from quotes from several different dealers and each one of them gave me way overboard prices. Jon Cooper of Thompsons gave me the best price and it took just one email and I think 1 text message. PHENOMENAL. When I got to the dealership I was greeted by Chuck and guided into the waiting area where they had free refreshments to grab. Chips, drinks, biscotti, etc. Woah. We sat down and waited for Cooper for a few minutes and really felt non threatened as this place is a smaller dealership than we are used to. After a short test drive Cooper had me fill out some paperwork and we got everything in motion. The price was consistent with what he quoted with no extra "hidden fees" tacked on... Minus a CA tire fee (8 bucks). The General Manager came over and congratulated me on the deal and said I had a fantastic rate of 1.99% with my bank (Pentagon Federal) and said they really couldn't do much better. But the real reason he came over was to ask about me buying the extended warranty. I politely declined and he said no problem and left it at that. Fantastic, no pressure. Finally, we walked into the financing guys office, Robert I believe was his name. He was a nice guy, all suited up. He talked about all our options with warranties and such and had me fill out the final paper work, answering any questions I had along the way. A little long going over the warranty, but that is to be expected as they are required by Toyota Corp.I had a small hitch with my bank as they were not a "dealer associated credit union" However, Cooper and Robert talked with them over the phone and got things sorted out for me. Another outstanding job! Cooper walked me out, explained anything I needed to know about the car and they even walked me around to the Maintenance department introducing me. Seriously? That was cool, totally felt like I was joining a team.If you are even REMOTELY close to this place, buy your next car from them. You will not regret it. Thanks again Cooper and his partner Tony and everyone at Thompsons Toyota.edit: Jon even called a few days later to check in to see how I liked the car. So far so good averaging 58mpg and sometimes over 66 mpg. =)

I just wanted to write and say how pleased I was with the service that I received on New Years Eve from Thompson Toyota Dealership. There was no high pressure selling; I was very comfortable. All of the employees above made the sale of my automobile so easy. I particularly want to credit Shannon for finding my 2008 Jeep Liberty. He was of great assistance to me. I really love the car and it appears to be just like brand new. I would certainly go back and purchase another vehicle from them. After a terrible experience many years ago at Roseville Auto Mall my wife and I were relieved to find Jon Cooper and Thompsons. The staff has always been friendly (and not in that sleazy car person way) and Jon has always been very straight forward in dealing with us in good times and bad. This is the second new vehicle I have purchased through an on-line inquiry for pricing from Thompson's Toyota. Jon Cooper has been the sales person I worked with both times. Jon made both of my experiences easy, fun and hassle free. Not only that, but what he tells you on the telephone is always the same thing you hear when you arrive at the dealership. Jon is a down to earth man that does not hassle, haggle or pester you. The dealership personnel all work very well together. There is no back and forth 3-5 times negotiating pricing because they offer such great pricing that you know what you are looking at before you even step foot in the door. You have a very good idea of your price range which makes the purchase experience smooth and expedient. Thompson's Toyota may be in the small town of Placerville but their pricing is completely competitive with the large auto mall dealerships. My experience with Jon Cooper has been unlike any other dealership. I always shop around and I have found so many dealership salesmen that don't even know how to start the vehicle they are showing you. If they do know how to get it started, they have a hard time driving it because they don't know where anything is on it. As well, my experience is that many salesmen at other dealerships do not know much about the vehicles so they are unable to answer detailed questions. This has NOT been my experience with Thompsons. they know their vehicles and can tell you about them from bumper to bumper. I will always go back to Thompson's Toyota for my Toyota needs and purchases. My experience with Thompsons Toyota was nothing short of exquisite. I needed a used car for college. I was approached by Roy rather quickly when I stepped on the lot, and he was exceedingly patient with my indecisiveness. He provided expert advice on the vehicles we test drove and was very happy to get into as many as I needed to find the perfect car. After we found my 2011 Camry, the process toward making it my own was smooth as a hot knife through butter. Mr. Avalon made the financing very easy and the entire crew even stayed late to see me behind the wheel. I am eternally grateful to the sales staff as well as the dealership as a whole for making this potentially stressful event as easy as possible. The only thing that beat the smile on my face behind that beautiful engine, was the smile on the sales staff when they bid me goodbye.

The dealership was good to work with and made the purchase easy. I was quite disappointed when it came to leaving with the car after the paperwork was completed and finalized. I was handed the 1 valet key and 1 remote key. I purchased a certified toyota and it should have came with 2 remote keys and 1 valet key, like it had when new. This is such a small exspence for the dealership compared to me having to do after the purchase, I will be out approx 265 dollars for the key and 120 dollars to program the key, or a total of 400 dollars which can only be done at a toyota dealership. I asked why this only has the 2 keys and was told that is all that is provided. Bryan Solomon

After searching for a Rav4 for several weeks,going to our local Toyota dealers, being quoted prices then when we would show up to their lot the price would change..hidden fee's..ect. My husband made a call to Thompsons after seeing the exact Rav4 we were looking for on their website. He spoke with Jim Roth, who was very friendly. Jim,went over the car details,quoted the price. We made a three hour drive being very apperhensive. Wondering if the quoted price would be the same when we showed up. To our surprise, when we showed up, Jim met us outside, offered us refreshments, took our info and guess what?!We didnt pay a penny more for our Rav4 than we were quoted. The whole atmosphere at Thompsons is very friendly and welcoming. No high pressure or pushing you into something you do not want! Ryan Turner, also is a great person to work with.He offerd us the 7 year/100,000 mile extended warrenty. He explained it in detail then left so my husband and I could talk privately. Jim Roth and Ryan Turner made buying a new car something fun and exciting! We will ONLY shop Thompson Toyota from here on out.

This is our 5th and 6th vehicle we have purchased over the years with them.The Camry needed a service and the Hylander needed a repair and both visits I have dealt with Shauna Brown one of your service advisors. In my opinion Shauna is a highly motivated professional at her job. She has excellant customer service skills and communicates very well and gave me no-nonsense answers.Dealing with Shauna on both occassions was a pleasure and I will highly recommend her to anyone who might be in need of service related issues.

On 10/28/2011 we were visiting apple hill in placerville, ca. with the intent of having a very relaxing weekend get-a-way from reno, nv. in the early afternoon while visiting the various places driving down the road our 1999 Rav4 just stopped running. Fortunately I was able to pull off the road and call for AAA assistance. The tow driver took our disabled vehicle to Thompson Toyota in placerville for repairs. It was late afternoon by then and the service department was ready to close but said they would be able to look at it the first thing in the morning (Saturday). Also, they advised us where to get a rental car until ours was fixed...We tried using their rental service but our insurance people were not available to verify our insurance. At about ten a.m. the next morning (Shauna Brown) called and advised us of the problem. We were in a crunch as the rental car company was closing at noon on saturday. Miss Brown was extremely helpful in getting us into one of Thompson's rental units so we could get around for the rest of the day until our car was fixed at approximately three in the afternoon... We recently had new run flat tires and battery installed on 2006 Sienna. The price on the tires was competitive and the work exceptional!! They made sure my tires were aligned perfectly before I drove away. As always, Danny Cross was especially helpful and a pleasure to work with. I always leave feeling well taken care of. I have taken in my Ford truck and my Honda Accord to Thompsons for repair work. They aren't Toyotas but they do such good work at Thompsons and their customer service is unbeatable. Danny Cross is very professional and attentive and quick. He gets you in and out of the service check-in in no time and always makes you feel like you are appreciated as a customer. I bought my Prius at Thompson on October 2009, and I have had it serviced there since. I have always worked with Danny Cross as a service professional, because there IS a learning curve on the Prius. He has been great in explaining all the features on operating tricks on it and making it a joy foe my wife amd I to drive. One of his best attributes, is to figure out when he can squeeze my in for a small but important service job, as we live a ways away from the dealership, and has saved us extra time and trips, and that helps.Recommend Thompson 100%, and Danny 200%

My fiance and I bought a Corolla here last year. This year we were looking for something bigger as the children were getting bigger too. We were looking in the Bay Area where we live, but the dealers out here didn't want to work with our budget, or give us what we wanted for the Corolla (which was very clean and had low miles). Once i called Coop it was no problem and no worries and just like the year before we were in and out. Not to mention both times we purchased vehicles from Thompsons it was a holiday (Mothers Day then Fathers Day), and the staff waited for us to get there from the Bay Area both times!! I plan on getting a new car again next year and I have no doubts of where we will be going!!! Thompson's Toyota ONLY ofcourse!!! Both times we were there we had a great experience nobody is pushy and they listen to what you want and dont want and are very knowledgable in their vehicles. All the staff members were very friendly and courteous. The office is very nice and very clean and well kept. I recommend my friends and family to go to Thompsons Toyota for a great experience in purchasing a vehicle.

I shopped at all the Toyota stores in the area and even though Thompsons was the farthest away from me I bought a new truck from them. My experience at the other dealers went from absolutely horrible, to tolerable, to great at Thompsons. I talked to Jon Cooper over the phone and his earnestness was what made me make the trip to Placerville. While there he was low keyed, honest, and easy to do business with. I appreciated the way every one there was so down to earth nice. Ryan Turner also helped us out a was a joy to work with as well. I do recommend Thompsons to every one I talk to and I can do this with confidence knowing they will be treated well.

The last time I purchased a car from a dealer was in 1985 when I bought a brand new Celica in Placerville. For the past 26 years, I have purchased three cars from either private parties or Carmax, because of the bad experiences I had at all three Sacramento Toyota dealers (Roseville, Folsom, Maita). When I called Cooper about the truck that was on Thompsons Toyota's website, I thought he sounded "nice," "down-to-earth," and "kinda funny." We talked prices and such, but I never really believed any of it until I took the drive to meet him and check out the new truck I had been looking for. I was so used to getting sucked into the game of just "getting a body to the dealer" that I had my guard up. Let me just say that when I met Cooper and his partner, Tony, I was immediately impressed with their personalities and quickly felt comfortable with them. Cooper did not deviate from the deal on the phone and was such a breath of fresh air to work with. I never felt pressured, ridiculed, or disrespected. Cooper is the best and I will always remember the experience. Not only did he make me feel comfortable, the interior of the place was equally homey and included a nice variety of complimentary snacks and drinks that were easily accessible. PS: Matt in the parts department is great, too! Kudos to a job well done!

This is second car in less than a year we have purchased from Coop. It truly is a no-hassle environment, and you don't feel as though they are chasing you around the lot for their commission. We are shoppers, and Coop and Tony took the time to evaluate deals we had found at OTHER dealerships, as their true goal was to ensure we were satisfied with the car we chose. They offered to run carfax reports on vehicles they didn't even have, and showed honest interest in getting to know us, not just to get in our wallet. The paperwork was explained clearly, all questions were answered honestly, and we ended up with a quality used car from folks we trust. I started with Jon & Thompson's toyota online since I did not live in the immediate area. They were responsive, professional, friendly, and dedicated to doing the right thing for me. Once we confirmed our deal via email, I traveled over 2 hours to get to the dealer. I was greeted quickly by Jon (picked me up at the station) and walked through the process of purchasing my vehicle in a timely, effective, well managed way. There were no surprises, no last minute issues, and I was treated very well throughout the process from start to finish.

This was my first purchase from Thompson's, though my wife and I had used their service department before. We found the car we wanted through their Internet ads. The sales experience was very cordial and informative - a conversation rather than a sales pitch. The paperwork process with the finance manager was equally pleasant. I consider this one of the best car buying experiences I have ever had. I am as pleased with the car as I am with the sales experience.

I shopped on the internet for some time before purchasing my new Toyota from Thomsons. I went to this particular dealership because they offered the best price with the least hassle. I alco have a friend that has spoken favorably of this dealership. I believe the only thing that I feel bad about is that I purchased an extended service contract and I have not been using the truck as much as I thought I would. So that may not work out to well. But that certainly has nothing to do with Thomson's Toyota. I must say I hate buying cars from new car dealerships. I would rather get a root canal than talk to a car salesman. However Jon Cooper made buying this truck a reasonably pleasant experience. I would definitely go there to look for another car.

After having a TERRIBLE experience with Cardinale Way Toyota in South Lake Tahoe, we were extremely gun shy about heading to another Toyota dealer. What we found at Thompsons was the complete opposite of how we were treated by the rip-off crew at Cardinale Way. After speaking with Jon on the phone he sent us a video of the car we ended up buying, VERY COOL to be able to see the vehicle before even heading to the lot. When we got down to Thompson's everything went amazingly smooth, no hassle, no surprises, no additional fees or add-ons.I would recommend Jon Cooper and Thompson's to anyone looking for a new Toyota. Yesterday, we purchased our third vehicle from Thompson's Toyota, and once again experienced the outstanding service we have come to appreciate. Bill McCarty "led" us through the process and finished with a detailed "tour" of our new car's equipment. Lance facilitated the buying process and Shannon guided us through the paperwork. We recently moved to Gold River and considered going to Folsom or Roseville Toyota dealerships. However, our past positive experiences helped us to decide on Thompson's again, and we were not disappointed.

I went back yesterday so that they would fix a problem that I had from the day of purchase. My wife and I bought a new truck yesterday from Thompson's Toyota. Our salesperson was "Mr. Bill", a very personable, friendly, accomodating fellow, and we also dealt with Ryan, the sales manager, a very straight-forward, also friendly, and reasonable buisnessman, and an Aggie. We had earlier gone to a couple dealerships in the Sac and Vacaville area, before driving to Placerville. We even got to the point of negotiations with a few, and had some bad experiences. We walked. My wife and I ended up driving to Thompson's with a bad taste in our mouth, but were soon pleasantly suprised. We feel that of all the new car buying experiences we have had (and we have had several), this has been the most pleasant and straight-forward. We are pleased with this family-owned dealership. The people we dealt with at Thompson's, Bill and Ryan especially, were easy to talk to, straightforward, and no nonsense. Bill went to quite a lot of trouble for us over the phone, sight unseen. We could have been wasting his time horribly, for all he knew. He did not get irritated, show any inpatience, or duck questions. After we showed up, looked at the truck, took it for a drive, and were nearly finished talking numbers - just before shaking on the contract on our particular vehicle - I wanted to do a last minute driving comparison between our truck and another. Bill and Ryan made no qualms about stopping everything and getting a completely different truck ready for me to test, just to make us feel comfortable. Throughout the process we felt like they were being honest with us. This is a dealership to go to if you want to have a pleasant, no games buying experience. We got a good deal on our new truck, a good deal on our trade-in, and feel confident that these kind folks will take care of us down the road if we have any problems. We liked them enough that we might just end up driving to Placerville for our service needs instead of staying in Sac. I was having my 2011 RAV4 serviced, so I wandered around the used car area "just looking". I can't say enough about these guys. The first time I drove on to the lot it was half an hour after closing and 'Mr. Bill' McCarthy still spent half an hour with me. In the following days Mr. Bill was very responsive on the phone when I had additional questions. Over the course of the phone calls they had sweetened the deal so much I had to go back and talk with them in person. When it came the actual buying experience they were very honest and transparent with their process, this is a rare quality in a dealership and one I will not soon forget. Both their sales manager, Ryan, and their finance manager, Robert, took the time to understand my situation and worked very hard fit everything I wanted inside my budget(they succeeded plus more!). At the end of the day I drove away happy in a great truck at a great price having just worked with some great people. I highly recommend this dealership.

This dealrship is amazing. They are friendly from the minute you walk in the door. Danny Cross and John the shuttle driver, are just genuinely nice men. Danny knows the products they service, and he does not try and sell you other stuff you do not need, but he always make sure he lets me know what I need. I feel like it is family taking care of me. They also have a wonderful area that you can wait in if you like, or the shuttle service is amazing. It is easy and fast getting in and out, if you have an appointment, they have everything ready and waiting for you. Everyone who works at this dealership is friendly. Sure beats the heck out of the big dealerships I have dealt with where they herd you in like cattle, do not even know who I am, and are never running on time. I feel so blessed to have a dealership available that will pick me up and drop me off, and take good care of all of my cars and truck. The prices are fair and competitive, they always have coupons that make it a great deal. My vehicles have always been repaired with the highest quality of workmanship.

Bought a toyota corolla le. The friendliness was great. Very professional and courteous. My wife and I bouth test drove the car and took our time with no complaint of let's get back to the dealership. Their was a fridge will soda, water, popcorn, biscuits for the customer. the price was the best i found in 150 miles of turlock. there was no high pressure at all. there was a small glitch with the pink slip, but that was quickly resolved and they will drive the car to us the next day. We could not be happier. The best shopping car experience i believe i have ever had!

We traveled 5 hours one way, from the far eastern side of the Sierras (Bishop) to check out a Tundra we found on Thompson's website (the only way we shop, being in the sticks). We were not disappointed, and came home with a new truck. When we arrived, Paul happened to be out front, and he had the truck ready for inspection. The entire staff welcomed our two Aussies inside to escape the heat while we went through the purchase process. Everyone was so helpful, so attentive!!! And the Tundra was worth it, from the vehicle itself to the excellent purchase process! We drove it home the same day (another 5 hours), and had a very comfortable ride home--even the "boys" had plenty of room in the passenger area behind the front seats. We will definitely recommend y'all, and, being die-hard Toyota fans, we will make the trek to Thompson's for any future Toyota purchases. Thanks again for the wonderful personal service and the excellent deal on the truck.

Good salesman, Bill McCarty was easy to work with. When price came up for the sale of the vehicle it went fairly easy. Ryan and Lance worked with me and there was no pressure sales. I made an offer, they countered and the deal was done. Dealership is easy to get to and very clean and orginized. Everyone was willing to help with locating my salesman upon arrival. Once sale was made things slowed down, as for customer service. A lot of waiting, with an appointment. I still would recommend this dealership to my friends and family.

This was my first experience with Placerville Toyota. And it was a truly great experience. Shopping for a new vehicle can be frustrating and stressful. Visiting a couple of other Toyota dealerships in the area was just that. However, my experience with Chuck was truly stress free and low pressure. Chuck introduced himself as a No Pressure Sales Guy that was there to answer any questions I might have. And he lived up to his billing. He was extremely informative answering any question I threw his way. And never did I get the what can I do to sell you a vehicle now speech. The helpful, open and honest dialogue Chuck displayed continued with the office team handling my paperwork once I selected my truck. Ive already recommended Thompsons to a couple of friends as the best place to purchase a truck. Looking forward to doing more business with Thompsons Toyota!

This is our third Toyota and our second purchase from Thompson Toyota. We bought our first one at Folsom Toyota and did not have a great experience with them. They promised many things to be done on my sequoia when I was purchasing it but after purchase didn't follow through, also the negotiation process was not a good experience. A year later we wanted to buy another Toyota and decided to go up the hill to Thompson. Good decision! The experience was great! No hard pressuring, no games (let me ask my manager), just a good deal. It's 5 years later now and I emailed Thompson to see what deal they could give on a corolla. Cooper emailed me quickly on a good price. A week later we went up and met with Cooper and Tony. They honored the price and gave me a fair price on my trade in. Working with them and their finance person was easy and seamless. I had to go back the next day for additional paperwork and get floor mats. The dealership was very busy yet every employee there asked if I needed help, I never felt abandon. Cooper even spent time to help me sync up my phones to the wireless bluetooth even though he was very busy with other customers. I've been in sales for over 20 years and Cooper and Tony did everything right, honored the price, great follow up afterwards, and made me feel important. Buying a car is a major purchase and should be a fun experience. Cooper and Tony have accomplished that!

A little over a year ago I set a goal and I told myself I would reward myself with a truck if I met that goal. Even though I had not totally accomplished my goal, I decided to go ahead and see about getting the truck. Cooper was really great and easy to talk to. He listened to the situation and understood just what this truck meant to me. He actually went above and beyond. When I left Thompsons Toyota, I left not only with a truck at a great price, but knowing that Thompsons Toyota really cares about the people they sell their cars to. I left with the impression that Thompsons Toyota not only hires extremely professional indivdiuals, but indivduals that are compassionate and extremely respectful. We found Thompson's Toyota on the internet. We called to confirm the price of the car we saw. When we arrived Jim Roth welcomed us and had the car all ready for us to look at. Jim was very friendly and helped answer many of our questions. We were introduced to Bill. I've been purchasing autos for 25 years - most of which have been through dealerships. Purchasing my new Toyota Sienna at Thompsons yesterday was by far the best, most memorable auto buying experience of my life.From the beginning stage of research up to the close of driving off of the lot, the following are highlights I'd share with all of my friends, family and corporate colleagues:1. Clean, organized web site (with photos of actual vehicle and attached sales price) for ease of use and research on the types of vehicles I'm interested in. This was a BIG PLUS for a guy like me that has very little time to spare with my fast paced life.2. Initial connection via email was immediately answered with a very friendly introduction and response by Tony Biondi3. Initial negotiations on the vehicle started with ease and zero stress via pleasant email and phone conversations4. Arrived at dealership to immediately feel a warm, friendly vibe from the staff and dealership (as a whole)5. Tony was very knowledgable of the vehicle (hard to find these days) and of Toyota's current incentive/finance programs6. I was introduced to Ryan, sales manager, as we approached closure of the vehicle terms. Ryan was extremely professional yet very approachable from the moment I met him, all the way to our final hand shake. A great guy who is clearly experienced in both the auto and human relations industries! He made me feel appreciated and a person of true value as a Thompsons customer. 7. The finance review was great - wasn't long and overwhelming. The finance manager knew his product and was clear and concise with all of my options through Toyota Financial. 8. As I was handed the keys to my new Sienna, I was greeted by many people with warm handshakes and smiles as to say "congratulations" on your new vehicle AND your invitation to becoming part of the Thompsons family. It was really amazing. I truly felt like is was a branch from their family tree.Overall, the size/location of the dealership, the people and the process at Thompsons was an experience for the record books. I will certainly promote Thompsons to all of the people in my life. My only regret is that my wife and 4 kids were not there to experience this with me!Thank you Thompsons for being a game changer and proving, even to an experienced car veteran, that you CAN find an outstanding experience with an authorized, big name auto dealer.Jason KroghRocklin, CA

The service was helpful and outstanding. The salesman was friendly and it is a very low pressure environment. In addition, they offered the lowest price among new dealers in the area. Would strongly recommend this dealership to anyone interested in purchasing a Toyota.

I was fully aware of which model of Toyota I was going to purchase and what I was prepared to pay for it . I just needed to make some calls to check the credibility of the staff at a couple of dealerships. As it turned out, I bought from Doug at Thompsons (44 miles away) instead of in my home town because he treated me pleasantly, with candor and respect. This was a true cash deal and I was within 40 cents of what I thought should be a proper out the door price. All of that was negotiated beforehand. Dougs confidence and straightforwardness was key for me to purchase there.
