I'm very comfortable when walking into the dealership and never feel pressured. I work out of town, so the later hours on Tuesday regarding the Service Dept. are a big plus for me.

Actually, we were "just looking" when Steve Hamzy met us in the parking lot! He was so knowledgeable, helpful, pleasant and efficient that we walked away as the proud owners of a 2017 Elantra! Car-buying had never been as easy and quick as this experience was. Steve has a great sense of humor. He hardly batted an eye when, after all the paperwork was completed, I said, "I've changed my mind. I'd rather have the red one!!" All kidding aside, we are very happy with, not only the purchase of our new car, but also with the fine service we have received in the past.

I requested information on the 2016 Sonata online. Torrington Hyundai was the first to contact me. There was something about the approach...laid back, nice...no pressure. I went in not expecting to buy a car that night but...I did! They guys at the dealership were friendly, welcoming, had a great sense of humor and made me feel like family - not a number. They worked with me and my credit (which is only "fair" after a divorce). They got me into a lease I could afford in a car that I didn't think was possible. Just a great staff and overall excellent experience. I purchased my other Frontier from the same dealership under a different owner. My experience then made me go back to this location. Just when I thought it could not get better, they out did that with the new ownership and sales team. I arrived late and they helped me even when I left and came back just before they closed. Buying my Genesis was a very stress-free experience. My salesman, Ian Yuhas, was very professional and made the experience pleasurable. Mike Lovallo, the Finance Director, helped me secure my loan and made the "nuts and bolts" of the deal go very smoothly. Everyone I met during my experience was friendly and personable, including the young lady who is the cashier (whose name I unfortunately can't recall.). Service Consultant David Wheaton helped me tremendously by facilitating the removal of the license plates from my old car so that they could be put on the new car. The plate bolts had rusted and were "frozen" and I could not get them off myself. He allowed me to bring the car down and he had one of the mechanics spend the better part of an hour getting the problem resolved so that the plates could be transferred to my new car.

Dex from sales & Mike from finance are two excellent examples of the car buying experience at it's best. They're upfront and straightforward - want real numbers? They'll give them to you. If they're not sure about something? They'll tell you (but then go find out the info so you will know). This is the second car I bought from Alfano's (a 2013 Accent Hatchback in Fall 2012 and now a used 2013 Tuscon Ltd. in Winter 2016). The hatchback was great; I just needed something with AWD given the "lovely" New England weathers and a new home on top of a hill, all of which were making the Accent less practical. Dex worked to find a car that fit my needs while throwing in some extra options without jacking up the price - how often do you find a salesperson who ISN'T trying to fleece you? Not here. Of course, it was then up to Mike to make the numbers work, between providing an aggressive trade in value on my Accent to delivering a reasonable price on the Tuscon. He was up working on this until 8pm at night until he got the number that *I* needed to move forward (plus including a warranty upgrade that didn't inflate my bottom line). The new car is great and the numbers looked good. What else can I say other than the fact these two gentlemen work at a dealership that's OVER an hour from my house and yet, still got my business over dealerships that are only 15 minutes away. Highly recommended.

Throughout my entire experience, I felt that I mattered. When I first arrived, my 2005 Hyundai had broken down. The mechanic team came over immediately, checked the car, reported what was wrong and then took me to see a sales associate. My sales associate was Klodi Stringa. He was attentive to my needs. He had such a great personality and wonderful sense of humor. He felt like part of the family. He and the the man who fills out the paperwork with me for the sale of the car, ended up staying past their work shift to make sure that the sale was complete and I had a new car to drive home that day. Klodi then came to the car to say goodbye and helped me set up my radio and phone. The team that I had was great! That is why I came back to Hyudai Torrington as I had bought my car there in 2005 and had great service. Keep up the good work!

I recently traded in my Jeep Wrangler for something that won't chug gas like my 4wd drive friend. I ended up getting a great price on a 2012 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid with less than 10k miles on it. It even still smells new! The salesman was very knowledgeable about the cars and showed me a few options in the same price range, of which I enjoyed the Sonata the best. I was in and out in a few hours with a car that had 60k less miles on it and was 2 years newer with a payment that was about $100 less a month. Good stuff. Very enjoyable experience overall. I will be back for service and to buy another car from them in the future. Highly recommend due to the ease of the buying experience (sales folks are on a flat commission so they are more willing to work with you on price and trade). See Steve. He's great.

Now I have been contacting them repeatedly over the past 2 weeks, and I am receiving the "cold shoulder". Horrible customer service, and no manager accountability. Traded my 2012 Equus for the fully-loaded 2015 Genesis. Received a trade-in valuation that nobody else came close to meeting, much less beating. Altho' I traded in a car that was a step-up in terms of Hyundai's fleet, the car I got is more comfortable and has 4-wheel drive. I was house-bound most of last winter because rear-wheel drive in a car as heavy as the Equus kept me off the country roads where we live here in CT. I wasn't aware that Hyundai now has a 4-wheel drive vehicle in their higher-end vehicles and should not have wasted my time looking at other vehicles. Steve Hamzy was very helpful and didn't haunt me or try to keep me from looking at other vehicles. First-class professional and someone I can recommend without reservation. The whole staff, from the service department (took the Equus in for servicing) to the accounting department spent time actually listening to me and that alone made me a very-satisfied customer.

If you are in the market for a car you owe it to yourself to visit Torrington Hyundai. I've purchased three cars from them over the past four years. The process is low stress without a lot of haggling and without the "let me talk to my manager" nonsense like in other dealers. Prices have been better than competitors and everyone is extremely friendly. My recent purchase was from Vince P. Young guy who is very knowledgeable and friendly. If you've already visited another dealer and got a price on a car take it to these guys and they'll beat it!!

My husband used to take care of having our 2004 Sonata serviced at Alfano's. Before he passed away, he told me to keep going to Alfano's for service because he trusted that their service staff would take good care of my car. I've done that. Even traded in my 2004 Sonata back in July, 2012 for a beautiful 2013 Sonata at Alfano's. Dexter took good care of me during that experience. Your service staff is wonderful and they really do take good care of my car. I recommend Alfano's to anyone I know is in the market for a car. You guys are the BEST!!!

I arrived and they took my car right away - replaced the battery and i was in and out of the department in 15 min. if that! It was great as i was already late for work due to the battery dying.

A month ago I bought a Used 2012 Veloster. Mileage was great, inside was great. There were a couple dings and scratches which is to be expected with a used car but there was a medium sized dent in the back fender and the paint was chipped and there were also a few deep scratches next to it. I was told that it happened on the lot and that they would fix it. After finalizing the deal i called the dealership to set up for the dent to be fixed. Dexter told me he would talk to Jeff and call me back. After 2 days with no call i called back again and was told "since we gave you so much for your trade there is no money in the car to fix the dent." This is UNACCEPTABLE. I put up a fight and was told i would get a call back. After 2 weeks of having to call the dealership and talk to the sales guy every other day, because I never got a call, I called Jeff(Finance or something) and he was "unavailable" I left him a Voicemail and it has been a week and i have not heard anything. I even told the dealership that i didnt want a whole new fender, all i wanted was the dent fixed because I didnt want it to rust. I did all the leg work for the sales guy. I went to my own credit union for my loan all he had to do was take my trade and send a purchase order to the bank. It took them 2 DAYS to make up a purchase order. I called miltiple time and was told "they are working on it and they would call me in a little bit". I never recieved a call and the bank closed before they could fax over the Purchase Order causing me to have to wait the entire weekend. The salesman has the WORST communication skills I have ever seen. My family and many of my friends have bought multiple cars from this dealership over the years, probably a total of 20-30 cars. I never thought I would have been treated this way. I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS DEALERSHIP EVER AGAIN AND I WILL CONTINUE TO DEFER EVERYONE I CAN FROM GOING TO THIS DEALERSHIP. MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS ALL KNOW MY SITUATION AND WONT BE GOING THERE ANY LONGER.

I had a wonderful buying experience at Alfano's Hyundai. Vince was friendly and helpful right from the moment he greeted me. When I returned at a later agreed upon time, he had several cars available for me to look at and drive. He was prepared!!! He was very knowledgeable as well. When I picked up my new Genesis Coupe he really took his time in showing me all of what my new car could do!!! Thanks Vince!!! Jordon and Ken were great too. Next time I would handle the signing of the papers differently but that was my own fault. All the staff was friendly. Offering us popcorn, making us comfortable when we had to wait. It was great!

The customer service is always friendly and helpful. The buying process is superb...best place to make a purchase/lease as they are not your typical dealership where they try to shove things down your throat. The listen and truly work with you throughout the entire process. The server department is the best I've seen. The service manager is not a suit...he actually know how to do the work as he is an experienced mechanic himself. What a great fit. Someone in charge of the service department that doesn't try to pull the wool over your eyes and works with you as much as the sales guys and the General Manager of this dealership. The facilities is clean and presentable. Makes you comfortable and is welcoming. My sales guy was Dexter. The best at what he does! He is someone that wont push you and will present options if you are truly interested. He has the mindset that if you are not serious now and you like what you see, you'll be back. I bought my first Hyundai in 2005. I got this new 2014 Sonata on 3/8/2014. I did not have any real problems with the XG350. It just turned 79,000 miles on the OD and wanted to get a newer car. Bought the Sonata SE model. I think it`s a real sharp car with the 18" wheels, makes it look long and low.Great looker. Got a great trade in, friendly people,nice clean showroom and waiting lounge and they have great service along with there service advisers.

first time buying a car, customer service was absolutely amazing, they make you feel right at home. when it came down to getting the car it was a mess, broken parts here and there, lots of electrical issues. most of the time they said it was nothing and it can be due to the cold or the previous owner didn't tell them about the "minor issues". ive had the car less than 6 months and already had to go back more than 10 times. new week new car problem. i tried to see if i can return the car and that was another issues. when i got the car the inspection wasn't done, poor body work was done, and oil was not changed. very nice people. beautiful looking car but has more issues than ever. i want out!

Third Time NOT a Charm!

This is our third purchase from Torrington Hyundai, and our most disappointing. I was completely satisfied with the salesman, who I feel was honest and open. I was also pleased with the parts and service managers. All of my frustration and dissatisfaction came from the Finance Department. I had issues with the vin etching charge, which the state of CT verifies is refundable, as well as the unnecessarily long length of time it took to receive my refund check. I was also told that there was a three month wait period before I could pay off my loan since I received the $1,500 discount. The finance manager would not explain the reason for the wait period, nor would he address the penalty I would be imposed. It's been nine weeks since I purchased the car and I have not, nor do I expect, to get answers. If it wasn't for the Finance Department, all of my ratings would have been good to excellent.

Great sale approach by Dexter was helpful, patient, and understanding of our situation and dealt with my wife professionally before I was involved. The whole process was good except for waiting for financial side and this was due to Ken who was extremely helpful but was stretched between Hyundai and Nissan which made the wait ridiculously time consuming hence the 3 stars for the process rating. Ken is over worked and needs help to process things in a timely manner as you are risking all the hard work of your team to save money! Ken thanks for the tips and I hope they get you some help bud! Was there for 6 hours.

We have purchased vehicles with some local dealers in the past, it has always been a hassle and a haggle here or there. We found Alfano's to be free from all the nightmare "norms" that we have come to expect going to a dealer. They were very friendly, honest, personable, and just really a nice group of people. Almost forgot very kid friendly!!!!! Vincent was our go to guy, he was fantastic!!!! Let's not forget about Dexter what a fun great guy. I just purchased my second Hyundai from this dealership. My salesman, Vince Powell was extremely courteous and was quite knowledgeable about the vehicle. He even sat in the car with me and showed me all the features, etc. I have never had this from any other car salesman. I will come back to Torrington Hyundai in the future, and hopefully Vince will still be there. The only downside was Ken the finance mgr. He flew through all explanations and seemed impatient when I asked him to repeat or explain something.

This is our second purchase from Alfano's. My first call was answered by Klodie, he was and is very pleasant, honest and knowledgeable, Everyone is very pleasant. Jordan was very helpful, knowledgeable and very patient, as I took two days to made a decision, all around, great to work with. No sales pressure. You feel like part of the family. Mr Alfano him self came to talk to us while we were in the lot, we did not know who he was at time. Jordan followed up with an email and letter after the purchase. He is always available when I call him with questions, Great after sales service. I went back to the service area soon after they were very pleasant and prompt, it was a Saturday and within a few moments one of the service guys came to the waiting area and asked if I was hungry and offered me some food. Their product is excellent Ken the finance guy was very pleasant and offered us personal advice and tips I think this was very nice of him. I know it is their job and they are selling cars, but I think they are excellent to deal with,I will purchase from them again.

The only complaint was we were quoted a price as "out the door" it turned out to be almost $300 more because of "VIN number window etching" which we did not order and would not want on a used car. Would have been nice if they asked us before we were charged. when I asked about it, we were told it is "a service we provide." Not if you charge me for it!!

He was not at all pushy and went above and beyond the usual level of service. He was very helpful and a pleasure to work with. The finance manager, Ken, however was entirely different. He was THE rudest person I have ever met. He would not answer a simple question, clearly wanted to go home & get us out of there, and went through his spiel at top speed. It is because of this persons nasty attitude that I don't think I would recommend this dealership. He was horrible.

As with any dealership the initial offer they gave me for my trade and the price of their car was in their favor, but after I did some more research and got other quotes they were very reasonable and gave me an offer that beat everyone else, finance went smooth, they didn't try to hit me with any surprise fees as I've encountered before with other dealers. Worth the long drive because of their selection and their willingness to beat other dealers prices.

Been to this dealer 3 times to price out a new vehicle. Walked out the first two times due to their attitude of we have Honda like products and your vehicle is valued below wholesale. They like to add stuff like paint and fabric protection few people want at inflated prices. The 3rd time I bought from them because they had a product I wanted that was in short supply at the time. The new car was delivered to me with an empty gas tank, no other service such as a free first time oil change was provided. That's a first for me.
