LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS PLACE!! Tatiana and Kevin were absolutely the BEST. I've been leasing for over 20 years and I've never experienced such amazing customer service. Best dealership!! Overall the best customer service compared to any other Toyota locations I’ve gone to this past week. Tatiana was the absolute best!! Not only was she very knowledgeable and delivered information in a clear and thorough manner, she was also very attentive to our needs/concerns and patient about the process. Franklin sold me my Prius 3 years ago and I returned earlier this month when I needed a larger car for our growing family. Franklin is friendly, kind, and pleasant to spend time with; I had both my children with me, and he even made them feel welcome too! I appreciate that he is enthusiastic without being overly aggressive or pushy about the sale. He wants to get you in the right car at the right price so everyone is happy. (We actually no longer live right in NYC, but after visiting a Toyota dealership closer to our new home, I called Franklin and returned to him -- the difference was so dramatic it was worth the drive, and next time I'll go directly to him without visiting any other Toyota dealerships!). Also great to work with Kevin Primus again, too, who manages the dealership -- professional, peaceful, and friendly.

Run away from the dealship! I flew in from Chicago & they sold me a used car full of mold (unknown to me at time of purchase). It took me 3 months of numerous calls & emails to Toyota corporate before Manhattan took it back. Hardly ever returned phone calls. Terrible customer service. They do not care about the customer. Stay away!

Hello everyone, I hope this review helps you to take the next step in your life. Franklyn Beco and Kevin are amazing. They helped me a lot and it was really unbelieveable what they had done for me. I had a RAV4 almost ending my lease in contract. I wanted to get a white new highlander which is more expensive than my RAV4. So, Franklyn was able to get the white highlander 2016 for 8 passenger for me, on top of that he lowered my monthly payments compared to the RAV4 and if you think that wasn't enough help. He also helped me to get a new insurance company for my new highlander with a juice discount of $100 a month compared with the insurance payments on the RAV4. He is a nice person, with a creative way of doing business. Tell him what you want and what you can afford, and he will do the best on his capabilities to help you get the right car. Better car, lower payments on insurance and in the car too. Awesome Franklyn!!!

I agreed to purchase a car, but then I asked them to give me copies of the documents I signed and they refused. They said they would supply later.They were supposed to deliver the car the next day. When I realized that I was cheated on the deal I looked to cancel, and since the car had not been delivered I cancelled-- they said no problem. Yet they continued to bill me its been over 1 month they have not issued a refund and even registered the sale with NYS DMV.They cheat people (they didnt provide me with any documents when I left, no receipt, no breakdown of services and prices (which is why I got overbilled and cancelled). Then they misled me that the sale was cancelled, and in fact they on the books still have the sale, continue to bill me and registered the sale with DMV.This is a dirty bunch. Fee l free to contact me if you need any advice.I would avoid this dealership.

They have done nothing but screw around with me since I drove the car away. Forget the three hour wait for the finance office, the fact they still owe me a second key, or anything else. I over-looked those things, Now, my plates have been expired for a week and NO ONE seems to want resolve it as no one is returning my calls or texts. Price was great. Service is just short of horrendous, and approaching criminal with this plate situation.

I really don't know where to start. My first experience with this dealership was pretty good. I'd have to be honest and say it was excellent when I first leased a vehicle there. After that it went south. A word of unsolicited advice...Never ever tell a dealership and it's salespeople your info such as how much you'd like your monthly payments to be or your budget. Walk in there as educated as possible and see what offers they have. Start your negotiations based on that. It'll also give you insight on there level of honesty. After 31 months I went back to the dealer to see what offers they had for a returning customer. At the time my 2013 Toyota Venza XLE, fully loaded, panoramic roof, gps, heated seats, etc, had 9,500 miles. The value of the car when I signed the contract was 37,500. I put down 4,800 and the payments where 374 a month. Franklin Beco didn't know this. He said the best deal he could get me was to put down 6,500. The payments would've been 605 on a car wth a MSRP of 2,000 more than my Venza. If you know about leasing you'd know that this not only was an insult but showed a high level of dishonesty. After trying to negotiate several deals I was told that this was the best that could be done. F.Y.I I have a top tier credit score. I will not right about the condition that my car was returned during servicing but it wasn't good. After deciding not to go back and just return the car I called the dealership and ask what the process to return was. I made an appointment and when I arrived I waited three hours until the lease manager finally came to speak with me and said they couldn't receive the car because they don't take returns on Saturdays. He refused to help. During my time all he did was walk around the dealership chit chat and step outside several times to smoke. He obviously wasn't conducting any business to make me wait. I wish I had the energy to right more but the bottom line is I will never buy or lease from Toyota again.

Kranklin, has been the only sale person that I felt that was been honest and most of all listened to me about what I wanted/needed in getting a vehicle and did stayed within my budget. I purchase a used car at this dealership, had the worst experience and was of time ever, they were not able to get my registration and plate within the transit time, still don't have them 6 weeks after. They also promessed to change parts on the car, they did not call back for give me an appointment yet! I have been calling them about 30 time in the last 3 weeks, they never called back when I left a message, because you have to leave a message they are almost never available. Then I had to drive over there! Wasted my time again! No solution, but they are sorry, that easy to say I bought this car and cannot drive it , what a waste of money

Extremely disappointed and will never come back to any Toyota dealership. I really wanted to believe the work was going to be good after the mechanic personally went through all the repairs with me, which amounted to around $1100. However both the mechanic and the repairs salesman claimed the mechanic had tried to fix the key fob but that it wouldn't be able to be programmed and I needed to come back to test and probably replace the fob receiver (+$350 - $500 parts with labor). I had to leave so I instead took it to a local repair shop the next day and they programmed it in front of me in less than 5 minutes. This means the mechanic knew and lied to my face in order to get me to buy another costly part and/or get another 1-2 hours of labor OR they never tried to fix it and charged me anyways for "testing" it. Either way this called into question ALL of the work that was done to my car, whether honest or not. Terrible way to do business and I will be filing a complaint and disputing the charge. At this point there is no way to tell if the dealership did any or all the work they claimed to. All because they lied about one service they could have done in 5 minutes. It's truly a shame. A little dishonesty causes everything to fall apart.

Hello, I am writing this review based on my personal experience at the Toyota Dealership of Manhattan. We bought our car, a Prius, 3 years ago. It should have been a very exciting time as I was just graduating from graduate school and just starting my new job. We went in with our existing Camry which we wanted to trade-in. At first the sales rep we dealt with seemed very nice and willing to work out a deal for our trade in for a used* prius, on the first floor (main floor). We finally came to an agreed price when he told us we needed to go upstairs to the financial department. That's when things got very very sketchy and just plain wrong (**note we should have just left). When we got upstairs to the "financial officer" everything changed including the price that we settled on and they even tried to make us pay for "extra" insurance that we did not want, need or agreed to downstairs. After much back and forth, we did not want to go through with the deal because it was not what we agreed to from the beginning, that is when the "finance officer" started to belittle us, calling us (my husband and I) names such as "low lives" and yelling in our faces (Please keep in mind my husband and I are both professionals with Master's degrees). As I cried in disbelief, a manager (of entire dealership-NOT the general manager, but the Boss of everyone) saw my sadness and frustration and offered to help. At the end of it, we decided to purchase the car with significantly less "extras" then the financial officer was trying to swindle on us. HOWEVER, years later I am still left feeling angry, sad, and like I was just plain swindled and tricked into buying a car for way over its value. So I write this review for anyone who is going to this dealership to please be aware of what can happen. Needless to say I will never be going back there, not even for service. People should not be treated like this man treated us, especially when we are credible customers.

I had my heart set on getting a Hyundai Tuscon but my dad convinced me to visit his dealer Franklin from Toyota of Manhattan. After my dad had several issues with other dealers at Toyota, Franklin was the one who convinced him to give him a chance and made him a very happy car owner so, I decided to go in to see him the night before I was set to look at Tuscon's in New Jersey and I must say it was the best decision I ever made! He was the most honest car dealer I have ever met. I told him my budget and what my reasons were for buying a new car and he lead me thru every step of the way. He discussed all my options as far as financing and leasing were concerned, showed me many car options within my price range, was never pushy with getting me to make a decision, and even let me test drive a car! I fell in love with the Toyota Rav4 2016 which I ended up getting, and I am so IN LOVE with my new car! I owe the best car buying experience to Franklin!! I would without any hesitation recommend him to anyone I know who has plans on purchasing a knew vehicle. Franklin, thanks again for all your help!!!

I am in the market for an FRS. I came across a New 2013 (mind you it is currently 2016), and they wanted only $2,500 off the new price per autotrader. They then after inquiry, said it was actually willing to be sold for $21,000 which at first glance seems great. However, the car has been sitting for over three years, has not been started or moved, and has an expired warranty even though the car has never been sold. They refused to extend the warranty, put on new tires (as the old ones would by now suffer from drying out), change the oil, or make it any more comforting that I would leave with a car that still had any value. I was really hoping this would be a great opportunity, but it seems they don't want to sell this car. They are probably waiting for someone not as knowledgeable with automobiles to come along and buy this liability. At the right price, it would've been worth it, but they are really trying to rip us off giving us a car that is the same price as a newer model with out any incentive. The people were nice, but clearly no properly informed. It would take a xxxx of an opportunity/offer to change this opinion.

I saw Toyota Highlander 2013 thru carguru at this dealership. I contacted them thru email and with 5 minutes I received a call from dealership to come and test drive. I informed them that I will be coming from almost 110 miles away and ask her the ensure the vehicle is available. I was told that vehicle is here and promised that it will not be sold while I am on my way (2 hours of my trip).Upon arrival they took 20 mins to find me a sales associate to work me. I was taken to 6th floor where they have all pre owned inventory. Sales agent had no clue about the vehicle I came for. He shown me different car. I provided the VIN number and also open their website on my mobile device with the car.They brought be back to first floor while they look for the car. After 15 minutes of further wait they told me that they don't have the car. Stay away from this dealership. Especially they don't know what they have in their inventory. False promise and misleading and no care for customer.

I live in rural NW New Jersey. My 2000 Toyota Sienna broke down in Manhattan near the entrance to the Holland Tunnel during rush hour. It was very scary. Yelp reviews indicated I should not trust the tow truck company for service. I got the vehicle towed to Toyota of Manhattan the next day. Toyota of Manhattan's service department was able to diagnose the problem and get the Sienna back in service. While waiting I searched Kelly for recent model used Siennas near my home. Toyota of Manhattan had much better prices on used Siennas. I found a 2014 Sienna at Toyota of Manhattan priced comparably to 2012 and 2013 models near my home.My wife and I made an appointment with Franklin Beco at Toyota of Manhattan just before the 2000 Sienna was ready to be picked up. I only deal with salespeople my wife likes. She gave me thumbs up on Franklin. We were able to get a great deal on the 2014 Sienna and trade-in. We are very pleased with our 2014 Sienna and our experience at Toyota of Manhattan. They provide great sales and service. I recommend Franklin Beco.

I was without my '97 Honda Civic for two weeks before making the decision to get into a new car. I had off on a Wednesday, and after researching the Corolla for a few hours in the morning, I made my way (by train) to the dealership, determined to drive back home. I work at Lexus of Queens, and the owners of my dealership also own Toyota of Manhattan, so I felt very welcomed. I was introduced to Franklin, and I was very direct about what I was looking for and how much I wanted to pay. I saw my car on the showroom floor, and inquired about how the numbers looked on it. When I saw Franklin rush on back to his desk with a smile on his face, I knew we had hit the jackpot! The process was straightforward, quick and painless. Everybody, from the managers, the finance manager and the valets were extremely positive. It's now been 2 weeks and I love the car. As a former car salesperson, I can truly say that Franklin is as professional as the best out there. Thank you, Mr. Beco, for getting me back on the road!

My husband and I leased a car a few days ago and it was a pleasant and not stressful experience. I don't know if you have experienced, that most dealers are always trying to sell the car that they have on stock, but not the one you really need or want. In our experience, we were just looking for a car, nothing luxurious or expensive; because our tight budget. At the beginning, my husband wanted the Corolla S, but we ended falling in love with the Camry SE even when it was more expensive. Our sales person was Aida Fermin, she was an amazing saleswomen trying to helping us all the time, without pushing us to buy at the moment. Not just let us chose what we want, even help us with the price. Carlos Tovar and her, were awesome with us, even when the color we chose wasn't there, they looked for it at other dealerships, just to please us. I'm a picky person, and I like to see all my options before invest my money. Trust me, I did look for all my options, makes and models before buying and we finished at the same point that we started! You never go wrong with Toyota and the fact they give you 2 years maintenance and roadside assistance for free is a thumbs up! I'm more than happy with our car and because of what they did for us.

I replaced my 2010 Prius lease for a 2013 Prius lease, one month before 36 month termination period with encouragement of dealership on August 10 2013 I recently found out that although I was courted since early May to replace my 2010 lease. Dealership charged me twice for month of August, once for the old car and once for new. This is not the first time I was encouraged to switch leases before termination date and every dealer before including Toyota of Manhattan made sure that I was not billed twice, for otherwise why would anyone replace car earlier. I was also charged for full DMV fees and was advised by salesman and as well as financial advisor that most of the fee will be refunded since I just had my registration renewed a month earlier and we were just switching plates. Temporary registration sticker that was attached to window was improperly filled out by dealership and I got a violation ticket the second day the car was on street. I submitted proof of registration to DMV but was found guilty because there was an improper sticker. When I called dealership to see if they had any suggestions ,they assured me they will pay fine , repeated calls to dealership were often either ignored or i received assurance that ticket was paid. I was able to monitor the ticket status online, it takes two business days once payment is made for it to show up. A few days before due date for payment ,I made the payment myself not wanting to incur penalty charges and risk of towing. I contacted the Toyota Corporation to see if they can help me resolve these three issues and they in turn contacted the Customer Relation Manager at Toyota of Manhattan, who was ignoring my calls previously. Mr Kass contacted me immediately upon receiving letter from Toyota and was very gracious in words, he promised me that I will be reimbursed for violation ticket, a check went out to me he said last monday, as of today no check has arrived. As for the unethical double charging and the DMV charges he said he had to speak to his manager and promised to get back to me next day, when I asked why he did not write back he said he is busy and will contact me when he has time.By Hook and Crook would be a good description for Toyota of Manahattan

I must say, this was my third time getting a car and it was quickest and easiest experience. I went Friday was approved within minutes and picked up my car the very next day! The staff at Toyota of Manhattan helped me and walked me through the process. They were thorough and very patient with me. The dealer reneged on an offer and claimed the car had been purchase and driven off in a two hour period between making the offer and my attempting to sign papers. Just avoid them. The facilities are dirty and unappealing as well I was dealing with Gino and Carlos. If you have to go there I guess avoid them especially.

This dealership is a mess. They took me for a couple test drives, did a handshake on a price and then tried to raise the price when I tried to sign (later that day) and then claimed the car had been sold and driven off the lot (when it was still available on cars.com and Autotrader) because they did not want to honor the price. Go anywhere else.

I had an issue with my Toyota Camry Hybrid and I could not seem to get my regular dealership to get to the proper diagnosis. I heard from a friend that Toyota of Manhattan is the best around and they were not off the mark one bit. I brought my vehicle in I was greeted by Nick who was my service advisor. Nick was very friendly from the very start and answered all my questions on the vehicle. The technician Harold even took time to come down from the shop and speak to me about the car. They had the code cleared (turned out to be just a loose gas cap) and I was back on the road... and they didn't even charge me for the visit. All I can say is "Go There" when you need your Toyota repaired... they really are the best.

The worst dealership i have been to, the sales manager screams at the employees like they are trash, they make you wait 20-30 mins just for a test drive. A new sales manager name jorge was not pleasent at all, also found out that they change sales people more offen than usual which is not a good thing for me because i dont want to deal with a different sales person everytime my lease is up. Also found out that these sales people are being pressure by the managers to get us to give them an excellent survey they are offering them $25.00 for each survey they get, not going back to this dealership ever again they have so many new people even dave p the former gsm is no longer there, if they treat their employees so bad imagine us customers they should train their managers to respect and treat their employees better. I was so turned off i just refuse to make the purchase

Put a deposit over the phone on a saturday. I live about 100 miles away. On sunday took the car out for a drive and we worked out a price. On monday they said that they would not accept my Bank of America payment. They said we are not part of BOA program. So I said fine I will go somewhere else I whick I did. Its been 5 day from when I said return my deposit to my credit call. Now they will not return my calls or my deposit.

I came for brakes that felt a little weak and was told by tracey bolden the brakes and rotors needed replacing. A couple of hours later he called me to tell me the calipers were bad but due to time they could not replace the calipers that day. Meantime they did not replace anything but charged me anyway. When i noticed brakes felt exactly the same i went to an independent and well respected auto shop who found the brakes were not replaced and rotors were not replaced or even resurfaced. Nothing done but charged. Now thats a true scam job.

I would not recommend this dealership due to the reason that this place will lie just to get your business. Was nice in the beginning but that was only to get your business. Sold me an car that was setting on there sells floor for an year and gave in to me without checking to make sure the car was okay. Did not detail the car no wash no anything but gas. And said here you go because they wanted to go home. Kevin wanted me to come on an Friday because he wanted to make sure everything was okay and he left without checking on the outcome on the sell. This dealership made me feel I got got. In addition brought all the warranty even roadside assistance when my tired mess up toyota roadside assistance came to my eta with not having the proper tool to fix my tire having me towing my car and paying for it. What is the purpose of having toyota roadside assistance and they are not there to help you. Stay away from this place. Be aware

I am a long time customer of Toyota. I am on my 5th vehicle with them. My first 3 cars I got from Bay Ridge Toyota. Those experiences were not good ones (I don't know how I stayed loyal) On my 4th car I called another dealer to try and salvage my relationship with Toyota as I was going to move on to another company. I called Toyota of Manhattan and as luck would have it, I spoke to Kevin Primus. He got me everything I wanted and lowered my payment. I promised to be loyal to Kevin after that, and I was. 2 and a half years later his office calls me and says I can get you out of your lease early.....what are you looking for. I tell the gentleman I'm not interested in doing this now and I wont speak to anyone but Kevin. He tells me ok and hands the phone to Kevin lol 3 days later I was in my brand new Rav 4 =) He did it again! He got me exactly what I asked for right down to the rim and HE LOWERED MY PAYMENT AGAIN! Im now paying less for a SUV than I was for my car. There is a moral to my story. Kevin does what he says he will do. He does it quickly and efficiently and I trust him 100% That's 2 wonderful and FAST experiences with Toyota of Manhattan and Kevin. I would recommend them highly. PS the rest of the staff is just as wonderful as Kevin is......my finance girl (thanks for the pen.....I use it everyday lol), the lovely receptionist (I think her name is Christina). If you are reading this and trying to decide where to go for your next car....go see Kevin and his team. You wont be sorry.

This experience was BY FAR best experience I have had at any car dealership. I have leased several Toyota vehicles in my lifetime as well as other brands but I am particularly loyal to this brand because of reliability. My work schedule demands spontaneous commuting upstate at time. The last Toyota I leased was from a dealership that was far from honest with me when it came down to finalizing the numbers in the contract, so I will never set foot there ever again. Theo was straight up with me from the get-go and he knew what I was looking for and how to persuade me to get out of my other lease earlier in a 'painless' way for my pockets. I recommend Theo and his manager Kevin for anyone looking for an enjoyable and fair deal. I plan to bring my in-laws and friends when they need a new car as well. Thanks guys!

You won't need any novocaine for his dealer as these sales professionals know what to say and how to say it. But probably more importantly they know when to back off. Angelo made the initial phone call which gave me reason to come in. Belinda graciously took the time to show me some RAV4's as per my request. And Theo asked me the right questions to determine my needs and concerns which eventually led to the right car. Kevin also made himself available to answer any questions and approve or mitigate any issues. And finally Ray struck the perfect balance in giving me what I wanted while telling me what I needed.

I was helped by Samantha who was an excellent sales person; she was super friendly and cared about how I felt with the purchase. She gave me her full attention and dedicated the time necessary to ensure I was comfortable with my experience buying the car. I did not feel as if I was just another transaction. Adam, the manager was also there to make sure that I was pleased with the deal I was getting and make sure everything went as smooth and quickly as possible.

Even when you have an appointment you have to wait on long line before even driving into the garage. They looked at a broken piece and never fixed it. When I got home I called the service department to understand why it wasn't fixed and they told me someone will call me back. No one ever called. Poor service!

I can't really say that much because my brand new car is waiting outside! Robert C is the best sales man i ever met! honest ,patient, and never gave up on me! i had a an average credit, outstanding balance and so on.... he tried so hard to get me the car i want. Toyota Highlander LE 2.4 FWD,black in black, when he could not find the exact car i wanted we was able to get me the LE Plus with a huge discount, it was a very sweet dealto be honest i tried different dealers and they almost the same no one wanted to give a price quote right away non of them was able to get me approved and when i called them most of them had their answer machines on. but not this guy he was there for me texting me avery update and calling discussing details till the car got delivered Robert C and his team did a great jobthank you toyota of Manhattan for having good people working for you! you know how to do business

When we entered the dealership and started looking around, we had not fully decided what we wanted. All we knew was that our lease on our current car was ending and we needed a replacement.Pausing at the RAV4, we were approached by John Alexander who made himself a source of information about the car, so after a while we felt that he was a good source of info about all the cars around us, and it helped us to clarify what we might need.He was attentive, and, we felt, genuinely interested in meeting our car needs (driving our youngest -and her stuff- to college and home again, business trips to boston, south jersey, westchester and long island carrying furnishings and rugs to clients, occasionally carrying clients, and shepherding older relatives and chauffeuring group weekends and trips). It was determined that the RAV 4 could fit us all comfortably, and also fit the college stuff twice a year.We were tight with our time and he accommodated all our shifting of times for a test drive. His follow up afterward was conscientious but happily, not overbearing.We recommend John for his sincerity and professionalism, and this dealership because they are smart enough to hire him.

Very very satisfied with overall experience. Nick was friendly, professional and kept me informed with the service process i.e what the findings were,why the problem occurred and the cost and the time required to complete the repair.I left a package of books in Nick's office when I left at 5pm. I called and Saleana(spelling) went and found the package and told me to call Sat. when I returned to pick up my package. What a nice smile she has.All in all a very unexpectedly "nice" experience at your Service center.

Overall my experience was pretty good due to the very attentiveness and very informative Mr. Will Howard and Mr. Kevin Primus. We were in a bit of a hurry on that day but despite that, Mr. Howard made us feel very comfortable and worked with us diligently and patiently. I came in wanting to know more about the Prius and how the hybrid systems works. I was introduced to a salesman name Tim. He answered every question I had and showed me step by step on how the Prius was the best in it's class of hybrids. He was very patient with me and did not show a sense urgency when making my decision. He went over all aspects of purchasing a car (lease,purchase, and finance) Once my lease is up I will be looking forward to seeing Tim again and see what new things the Prius will have to make my ride even better!

We have purchased our last 2 Camry's from this dealership Toyota of Manhattan until last evening when we had the unfortunate event of meeting Kevin Primus, a very rude, unprofessional with no concept of customer service Toyota employee. He not only proceeded to argue with me about my decision of what I wanted to do but also raise his voice in front of my sick wife, daughter and my 2 young grandchildren and the 5 year old cried afterward because of his behavior. He proceeded to raise his voice announcing my personal business in the showroom as he walk away because I had asked for a refund of my money. He stopped the salesperson Carlos Tovar ( a nice salesperson) from speaking by waving his arm so that he would not say anything. I think that even if this man was having a bad personal day this was without a doubt not the time to take it out on a customer. He need to be trained on separating business and personal issues the store manger should not have to apologize for his very rude behavior. This experience has scared my relationship with Toyota of Manhattan I will think twice about going back or recommending any one to go there, and I have been their customer going on 7 years what a shame. I would not like to deal with this salesperson if I return.

When I was looking to purchase my car I went to different places and all of them kept me waiting or the put excuses. My friend took me to the Toyota. There I met Franklin, he has a great personality, great costumer service. Right there he said you will leave from here driving leave it all to me. I felt like finally I can trust someone. He explained detail by detail everything and the next thing I know... I was driving my car. After a couple of months I went back to get the Rav4 2013, I thought it was going to be impossible. Came to this dealer to buy a used car that was advertised online as "certified" but it seems the technicians there merely check that the car meets the state inspection req's. The financial department sells guarantees for $ 2000.00 advertised as 100k miles/ 7yrs (FROM THE DAY THE VEHICLE WAS SOLD WITH 0 MILES AS NEW NOT ACTUAL MILEAGE; they forget to mention that little piece of info). Beware of the service department, once you leave your vehicle there they might use it to run errands (over one day my car was driven 12 miles and the technician did not even fix the problem with the car). Overall a really bad experience would not recommend this dealer, should have checked online first since the have bad reviews in several websites. The only bright spot might have been the salesperson.

This dealer is a rip off. They sold me a lemon car. When I came to replace it, they took $3000 deposit for a replacement car but never gave me neither the car nor the money back!!! Beware!! Shop somewhere else!!Kevin Primus and Franklin Beco are the biggest crooks of the whole company. Franklin Beco is sweet and nice with the customers, he promises you this and that, but when the time comes to sign the papers, he is saying that there was no agreement and that he never promissed you anything. Kevin Primus is rude and like his buddy Franklin does not keep his promises. He can not speak with customers politely. After I disagreed to pay $10,000 more then the price we agreed upon initially, he told me to "get out of his store". I will never go to this dealership again and will never buy another Toyota.

I was in the market for a new car Suv Rav4 from a dealership. With many car brands around the area, i chosed toyota they are all sturdy and reliable. I walked into the showroom and was browsing around, and Franklin introduced himself and we started talking. Franklin showed me all the new cars he answered all my questions and before I was ready to make a purchase. He explained to me in detail how financing a car works and the difference between financing and leasing. He made sure I knew what I was getting myself into and he even helped me get a good deal on car insurance. I requested a the color of the car which was not in stock (Summersite Blue) and he made a call and with a 30 min's the car was at the dealership I recommend Toyota of Manhattan and if you would like to speak with someone about cars, you should speak with Franklin Beco.

I really had a bad experience here. The car was advertised at a certain price online and of course a whole different price comes up when you get there. The car had to be serviced because I bought it with the certification from Toyota ($1000.00), but apparently they only "check" to make sure parts pass the STATE INSPECTION as opposed to any higher standard from Toyota, NOT worth it. The service took a long time (DAYS) and when I went to pick it up it was not even ready I had to wait for 2 hours at the dealer after they told me to be at the dealer at a certain time. The extended warranty which is $3000.00 was sold to me on the 7 yrs/100,000 miles premise, but got documentation on the mail saying it's 100,000 miles on the original mileage not from the date of purchase so basically bought a 40K miles warranty for 3K because the car had 60k when I bought it. Basically everything in this dealer is horrible, the only bright spot was Franklin the salesperson.

I contacted toyota about refinancing a car I had purchaed from them last year. I was promised that they would be able to get me a better deal and that they would keep me posted on the stauts. After a week of not hearing anyting, I followed up - only to continue getting the run around. It has been almost two weeks and still nothing, unbelieveable. The level of service I recieved was unacceptable. They were non-responsive and lacked a very basic customer service skill in keeping me posted on the status.

Doing business with Toyota of Manhattan was the worst experience in 30 years of purchasing/leasing cars. Everything they say they were going to do they did not. They made promises they did not keep and every time they tried to compensate they made it worse. So much so, they offered to pay my first month payment which took them 6 weeks to do. The service department attempted to sell me services I did not need. Every 6 month service appointment, they claimed I needed a new cabin air filter. The last time they tried to sell me industrial engine cleaning because of possible rat drippings on my engine. I had the car for 2 years with only 20,000 miles.

I first came to Manhattan Toyota trough an internet search of a specific car. After emailing my info I received a follow up call the next morning. I made an appointment and came in and met with Robert McIlwain. We didn't t come to terms on that particular car, but agreed to keep in touch, and that he'd let me know as other cars became available. Robert was persistent without being pushy. He was willing to answer many questions patiently, and always responded quickly to emails and voice mails. When the right car for me became available I was willing to come back to Manhattan despite the fact that there are many Toyota dealers much closer to my home. I purchased a car, and Robert spent a lot of time explaining how to use all the great features in my car. I recommend this dealership, and recommend you ask for Robert to assist you

Bought a used car, which they said went through a 160 point inspection. Drove it two weeks prior to an appointment to have it looked at by another dealership. The car was junk - oil in the coolant, obvious signs of overheating, totally broken A/C, and it had no steel protector below to cover the axles. It was suggested not driving the car. Toyota took car back with no problems, except it took over a week to get my down payment back, to turn the licenses in and it has now been two weeks and my loan has not been cancelled and they are giving me a hard time with paying for the diagnostic report at the other dealer - even though it was obvious they did not do a full inspection (or their mechanic doesn't know what they are doing). I call them everyday - they rarely call back. This has been a nightmare. DON'T GO HERE!

Still waiting on my refund from my $500.00 they assured me that I'd get back after my title and licensing fee, which wasn't over $75.00. Vehicle was dirty, dog hair everywhere! All of the previous owners information was still in glove box, and CDs in CD player. The vehicle didn't have a full tank of gas as stated it would! Customer services is less to be desired! When I call I just get the run around. This needs to go viral, newspaper adds on what a rip off Toyota of Manhattan is, a visit to Angie's list too.

As soon as I signed, service was zero. They promised it would be ready and it was not (it was right after Sandy but i gave up my car because they assured me they would have a full tank of gas, they did not.I left work early to pick up my car because i wanted to see it in the daylight, They knew I was coming, they kept me waiting about 1.5 hrs until it was completely dark and double park so i could not see the car at all. They told me that they cleaned it but the dust on my fingers said otherwise. The young guy I thought I was helping out by working with him could barely show me anything on the car. He was done. I had to call numerous times, left messages, spoke to 4 different people at least 7 calls? to get the instructions for the remote starter. They called to tell me there was a problem with my registration and to give them the some #s from the registration, I said sure as soon as they sent me the instructions for the remote starter. They never did tell me what the problem was.until March 27, 2013, months after buying the car. They gave me the wrong plates, got them switched back on 3/29/13 but today I get a ticket in the mail for going through a red light on 3/9/13 for the plates i just received on 3/29/13. $80.00. The floor carpets are also deteriorating at an extremely rapid rate. This is my 3 corolla, 4th toyota. Never will i go to this dealer again obviously, I did not review earlier because i just wanted to distance myself from this experience. But then i got the ticket and I will need to spend time dealing with that. Toyota Manhattan - an example of what not to do. This is an extremely brief summary of the extreme frustration i have experienced with this dealership.

My 2004 Toyota Prius needed a new 12V battery, and since of course it happened at an inopportune time, I dropped it off at the dealer, Toyota of Manhattan (NY), which was convenient, quoted me a reasonable price, and I had a recall to take care of anyway. The next morning, the service rep called, told me the battery would be three times what Id been told the night before, and suggested two other items be serviced, totaling an additional few hundred dollars. I was immediately suspicious, especially since one of the items had been done (at another dealership, while on a road trip) during the 60,000 mile check just a few months ago. So I told him to just do the recall and Id deal with the rest. A good friend had previously recommended T&S Auto repair. He wasnt too sure about the battery, not having worked much on Priuses, which do take an unusual size battery, even for the 12V. I bought that thru Amazon and he installed it, bringing my total to about half what the Manhattan Toyota dealership had quoted. He also told me both of the other things were just fine. Thank you T&S! Guess where Ill be going back to.

I was shopping for a used car everyday for two weeks. I would search the internet for a 2005 honda civic (-give or take a year-) daily until i found one in my price range. Once i located the vehicle fitting my requirements, i would then call the dealer and ask if the vehicle was still available and if i could see it in person. i visited over a dozen dealerships through-out New Jersey and Long Island and Staten Island and Brooklyn . Every time i arrived at a dealership and requested to see the vehicle i called about, they would claim it was recently sold about one hour ago "" or "" the internet price was incorrect and there would be all types of additional astronomical fees needed to be added to the sale price. one dealership in New Jersey had a vehicle advertised for $ 4000.00 and when i arrived the sales manager said they could not sell me the car for less than $ 6500.00 + tax and what ever other fees. He claimed he would be taking a loss and that the car should go for $ 8000.00 minimally.I even showed him the internet advertisement on their computer, so that they could see exactly what i saw .But that was a waste of time.So i left the dealership and jumped on the highway again for a one hour long, extremely frustrating drive home to staten island. On Tuesday morning 19-feb-2013, I began to search the internet again, for a 2002 to 2006 honda civic and I finally found a 2005 honda civicwith all my requirements at "Toyota of Manhattan" 645 11th Ave. New York, New York 10036..These guys were great !!! It all began when I called 1-212-399-9600 and I spoke with a lovely young lady by the name of Lashana Lewis, she was extremely pleasant and helpful. She and I discussed the vehicle availability and it's price and the deal I was interested in working out with them. She quickly discussed my offer with her supervisor and we came to an agreement and she arranged for me tovisit them that same day. I called Lashana Lewis again prior to my departing from home on my way to Toyota of Manhattan, to make sure our previous discussion was still valid and she assured me our deal was still good and,that they were waiting for me to come down to see the car and take a test drive and finalize the deal. Once I arrived at the dealership, i quickly met Lashana Lewis and she introduced me to Carlos Tovar the salesman. Carlos Tovar was a complete gentleman and he was extremely courteous and respectful.Carlos quickly showed me the vehicle I was attempting to purchase as I requested.I saw the vehicle and after my approval we proceeded for a test drive.The test drive went well and we returned to the dealership.Upon arriving to the dealership we began to fill out the paper work. I informed Carlos about the deal I had pre-arranged with Lashana and he confirmed my statement with his manager.Carlos returned and informed me that the deal was still good and we filled out the paper work.All the numbers on the paperwork came out to exactly what we agreed on and there were no surprises... At the end of the day Carlos introduced me to Rashid B. the finance manager. Rashid and Carlos and I went over all the paper work and re-confirmed all the numbers were as we discussed and that I agreed and that I was happy with everything. I expect to pick up my 2005 honda civic tomorrow on 21-feb-2013... They informed that if I should have any issues or concerns that I should call them immediately, so that we can address anything that should arise. Toyota of Manhattan turned my terrible used car buying experience into a very pleasureable automobile purchase.My thanks to the great staff of Toyota of Manhattan ; including the valet's. !!!!

On February 11, 2013, I went to Manhattan Toyota for my one o'clock appointment. There was a lot of confusion in finding someone to take care of my car to get it appraised for a trade-in. There was more confusion to find a sales person. Much more time was spent waiting for a car to test drive. After the test drive, so much time was spent waiting to discuss cost. Finally, after hours of waiting and getting a headache, I spoke to Joshua Hennion. He offered me a price for my trade-in which was well below the trade-in value for a similar car like mine in "fair" condition, and my car is in excellent condition. Then he offered the cost of the 2012 Toyota I was interested in at a supposed "sale" price which is higher than the listed price of the same 2013 model! The experience at this dealership exemplified the common characterization of a car salesman: dishonest and sleazy. Beware of Manhattan Toyota!

I had the worst experience of my life when buying my Toyota Sienna, pre-own last month at Toyota Manhattan. I dealt with TJ throughout all the sale and my experiencewas lack of information, lack of transparency,and i felt that i felt like they weredoing me a favour!The car was paid in full, no finance, nevertheless the service was horrible. They were just concerned about receiving the check. On the day we went to see the car we asked TJ to put the car on and the battery was discharged. He told us that maybe someone left the lights on. He got a jump start and started the car. Since we brought the car home, it has already stopped more than 3 times and we can put it on again. We had to buy two battery chargers in different ocassions, and another time call the roadside assistance to get us home! We did not receive any papers since we bought the car, not even the car manual with it. I am a diplomat in this country and frankly i am deeply dissapointed with your services. I can not even apply for the diplomatic plates as i dont have the car papers yet!I do not recommend Toyota of Manhattan to anyone, and specially to the diplomatic comunity in NY, because they dont know what they are doing and take advantage when they know you are new in the country!

I do not know where to begin. My reason for coming to TSOM was to repair or trade in my 09' Toyota Venza. I was in my first car accident and due to a bad decision, dealt with a auto body shop that was referred to my by my cousin. This recommendation and my decision to pursue it became an absolute nightmare. It started off by me calling and explaining to Will Howard, the salesman who assisted me with purchasing the vehicle. I explained that I was in an accident and wanted to trade in the vehicle. He told me to come down and we will sit and talk. After reviewing my situation and what I was willing to contribute to the deal(no money down:)), It was determined that it would be best for me to attempt to get my vehicle repaired. I brought my vehicle down. Now, I explained to Will my situation with the car prior to coming down with it. The vehicle was transported on a flat bed. It was in very bad condition. The auto body shop fixed nothing!!!! The car was smoking and just about everything was wrong with it. The staff members at the service entrance were amazed at the way it was smoking. It turned out to be gas coming out the exhaust pipes. I figured. Exploring my options I decided to sit with Will again. With his hands tied at this time he introduced me to Michael Jamal(S&P Dir) & Alex Collao(xxx.Sr Mgr). The reviewed some options on how to pursue a claim against the infamous auto body shop. Alex explained that he would have the car inspected and give me a price to get through the first phase of repairs. Michael explained that they would do the best they could to assist me with this matter..... I can continue to go on, but overall, they assisted me in transitioning into a 2013 Toyota Venza. When I was in need of some sort of help in getting through a portion of the burden of dealing with this body shop, they were there for me. They were all compassionate and sympathetic to my situation. They really worked as a team to help me into this vehicle. Every one from beginning to end. To name a few more, Jimmy Jones(Finance Dept), Rashid Basir (Fianance Mgr), Kevin Primus (Sales Mgr), Mike Grau (GM), and GEORGE (GSM). There were others, one of the valet guys at the service entrance who I have seen numerous times and one of the mechanics that were introduced to me by Alex. I am very thankful for my experience at TSOM and everyone who played a role in assisting me with a big part of this situation. They are very professional and experienced. I really liked Kevin. He was very professional and did his best to find the best deal for me. I love my new car and am very happy with the experience.However, before I met Kevin, I was introduced to Fred Frosch and Stan. I was very unhappy with the way they treated me and it almost cost this dealership the sale. Fred was rude and unwilling to help me get the car I was looking for at the price I needed to pay. I find it interesting that he said he was unable to go any lower on the monthly price on the exact car I ended up with when Kevin Primus was able to find me the deal I needed in order to lease the car.

After Hurricane Sandy destroyed my car, I was very worried that the car insurance would not give me enough money so that I could pay off the car loan and then buy a new car. Kevin called the car insurance company on my behalf and just like that the insurance adjuster increased the amount that they were willing to pay for my old "total loss" car. Hurricane Sandy hit and everyone in Hoboken loss their cars. As soon as the power was restored Kevin and his team started taking care of us. From the moment we arrived Christina, whom I had never met, greeted me and know exactly who I was. She has amazing customer service skills. Once inside Kevin had the cars I wanted to look at detailed and ready to show me. This particular Saturday was crazy, thousands of people had lost their cars and needed to replace them and it seemed like we all choose that Saturday to do so. Joseph and Angelo took great care of me, even running down the street to get me a cappuccino, while I waited. I live in New Jersey and choose to drive into Manhattan, even though there is another Toyota dealership 4 miles from me in Jersey City, due to the custom care I have received over the years. Simple. We had a particular and unusual problem with the 2010 Avalon we had leased in 2009. My wife was extremely uncomfortable with the front passenger seat. She has a back problem and the seat was too soft; it did not give her enough support. We had tried everything to firm it up, but nothing quite worked. Will called me in November to let me know that I had enough equity in the leased vehicle that I might obtain a new lease on favorable terms. We came in and my wife sat in every new Avalon in the shop. We found one that worked for her (even though it was a 2011 and the 2012's were already out), leased it and are delighted with the new car. Assuming that we lease again, it will be an Avalon from Manhattan Toyota.

Joe's approach to customer service is very unusual here in New York City. He was extremely friendly both in the showroom as well as on our test drive (he even dropped my husband and 2-year-old daughter at home when it became apparent that she needed her naptime!) When it came time to actually buy the car was when Joe really shined. I was in the middle of an extremely busy time at work and Joe went out of his way to make the process easy for us - emailing certain forms and coming to my office with the rest of them. He even drove our car to our apartment that evening so that we didn't have to come to the dealership to pick it up. He was so patient while he explained how the bluetooth and other features worked, all while our daughter was climbing all over the car.Our daughter is still asking "Where's Joe?" (Make sure to ask about his "Elmo" voice too!) I think we are going to have to visit the dealership so she can hang out with him some more!He truly went above and beyond and it was a pleasure working with him.

Last week our mechanic told us it was the end of the line for our 2004 Mazda 3i. After going over our options with my cousin, an Automotive Professor, he said, It sounds like its time to get something that can fit your family and go off-road. We wholeheartedly agreed. So, we cold-called Toyota of Manhattan, primarily because of our interest in the FJ Cruiser. We have a car for trade-in, were coming in today. Do you have any used FJs? Joelle, the Customer Service Rep graciously listened to our story and said, Call me when youre a block away. Ill come out and Valet Park your car and well find you the right vehicle. Great. We drove up, our car was parked, enter Joe McKnight, a Toyota Retention Sales Specialist. Fortunately, Joe knows how to deal straight just like us and we all got right down to business. We told Joe we wanted a car as adventurous as our family, that we had a budget and that we preferred a used Toyota. Whadda ya think Joe, do you have anything for us? Maybe an FJ? Unfortunately, the last used FJ in our budget had just been sold. Ron, the used salesman and Joe walked us over to a few Rav4s we took one look at ground clearance Nope this wouldnt be able to take on tough terrain like we need. What else? We saw a used Jeep in the corner quietly our hearts lifted but we REALLY were there to get a Toyota, not a Jeep! What else... Joe showed us a new Highlander, not for us. He also showed us the new FJ. Joe said, Look I want you guys to have the right fit and stay practical. I am a Toyota Retention Specialist but if you leave with the wrong vehicle no one will be happy. I want my customers to leave knowing they got what they needed. He tirelessly showed us our options, went over numbers both lease and purchase for used and new. In the end the Jeep turned out the winner. Keep in mind this deal was dealt in a very practical way by Joe and his team, as well as by us. We knew our needs and what we could afford when we walked in, and the Toyota team worked with us in perfect harmony. And I might add, we are sales people, too, we know the lines, we know the techniques. These guys are First Class.We put a deposit down and came in the next day to do the trade and pick up our used Jeep. With our toddler tagging along, car seat in hand, we showed up to finish our transaction. Having been through this process before, we knew well no car deal is ever done until you go Upstairs to the finance guy hes the one who closes the deal. Our advice, always be ready to walk away from any deal if it doesnt suit your needs, no matter how many hours youve invested in the search. For us one of the key factors in getting through the car buying process is to walk in knowing exactly what you have, including your credit score because that alone will change the advertised 1.9% APR into 9.0% APR in a heartbeat and will leave the novice in a hard place once Upstairs. Fortunately, Rashid the Financing Manager, read us right and with a bit of back and forth we came up with a deal that worked for all of us. It was a last minute offer of a 4-year service package that allowed us to say yes.By the end of all of this our daughter was in love with Joe who had made sure she had a steady supply of coloring books and crayons and hot dogs throughout the dinner hour of wheeling and dealing. I might add that at one point throughout this process Joe knew we were fading and handed off a granola bar or two to make sure we stayed in the game smart sales technique there Joe! But really, Joe is a really good man and Im sure, aside from being a salesman hed be there to help anyone in need for whatever reason.We all and I mean much of the Toyota Team gathered at the new used Jeep at the end of the day Joe, Kevin the Retention Sales Manager, another awesome individual, and Rashid. Then came Chris the General Sales Manager who saved the day when our daughter took her first look at the Jeep and burst into tears. No I dont like this one, its not an FJ Convertible. I wanted the FJ Convertible. This one is white is has no stripes, there are no rainbows! Chris broke it down, worked some wonderful distraction techniques and sold the Jeep to our daughter. What GM cares to do that these days? This was a first. And we werent the only family at the dealership other sales people were just as focused on their clients needs and looked just as well taken care of.Please note, in our minds we set this deal up so we can come back in 4 years and get the FJ or in our dreams a Lightening McQueen-Toyota-Hybrid-Convertible-FJ-Cruiser. Smile, smile, wink, wink and thank you very much!Thanks Toyota, Joe, Kevin, Rashid, Chris, Ron, Will and of course Joelle and everyone else we didnt meet but look forward to doing business with in the future when we come back for the FJ. We have every reason to believe based on our experience at Toyota of Manhattan that anyone can find the right deal for his/her needs and budget and have a great time doing it. Carlos Tovar reminded me of my son when I met him so I probably was biased to like him to begin with, but his professionalism and respect of the sale really was much more than I hoped for from any car dealer. He worked hard to get me a good deal and followed up to make sure that we were happy. I will recommend him highly to my friends and family members.

I had a small window to buy or lease a car after my old Toyota was totaled in an accident. Joe McKnight was exceedingly helpful, knew his stock quite well, and, most importantly, was willing to come in on his day off to finish the deal and the paperwork since I only had one day in NYC. Kevin was excellent to negotiate with, while I did not get everything I wanted, we were able to come to a deal that I think both parties were pleased with. I phoned the dealership initially because I was looking for a specific model and color. I spoke with Robert, who was very friendly, informative and helpful. I had spoken with other dealerships who had no idea what products they were selling. When my husband and I came into the dealership, Robert introduced us to Kevin and Joseph. Right off the bat, these guys made the whole experience fun. Not only did they know every little detail about the car we were looking at (2012 Prius), but they could also compare/contrast the vehicle to others, AND they were hilarious. It really showed that they enjoy their jobs, and their energy and good humor was contagious. They ended up offering us a better price than the other dealerships and we really had a good time while we were there. Mel handled the financing aspects and he also was very friendly and knowledgable. It has been almost a week since we leased our vehicle and each person that we dealt with has contacted us to follow up. This guys are AMAZING. Absolutely recommend this dealership and we will be purchasing all future cars with them.

Purchased my scion FRS from this dealership. I came in towards the close of the business day. Josh was not reluctant at all to offer me a test drive in the FRS (which at the time was still the very first days the car was released) Appreciate the no hassle and willingness to help me test drive the car. After I made the decision to make the purchase, they went and promptly got the used managers to look over my trade in and Josh took the initiative to find out a monthly quote at my trade in price and began listing some of my options in regards to payment. After i told him my situation and the amount I wanted to deposit and the terms I wanted to try to match, he promptly came back with a revised quote. (I dont say quick, because i expect a certain process that i need to wait for)I was directed to Kevin to do some initial paperwork which he seemed genuinely interested in helping me and making conversation. He seemed like he had a certain passion for cars and was pleasing to communicate with. This always makes the experience better.More so since the time was passing 10pm. I was sent to the waiting area and was checked up on periodically for any refreshments and anything else. Giving a lengthy wait time (no more than other dealerships i have dealt with) the periodic check in is welcomed to help not feel like one long waiting game. Kevin again was there to help start convo and take additional information as well as switch my plates.Then came the financials whom i dealt with Rashid. He had a great energy. Most salesman do, but he didn't seem to try to breathe down my neck about things. Personally I never had a GREAT time when it came down to working these deals out. There is always an understandable amount of being offered things you might not want and sudden "deals" that arise. What I can say about Rashid is that he certainly tried to keep the pace of the paperwork moving (might be because it was late at night, but we both didn't want to stay there, inching closer to 11:30) And answered all the questions I had. I understand they are also there to make money, so generally your paying a higher price when you get things at a dealership, that shouldn't be a surprise. At the very least, I was given better deals to similar installed items on my previous car. At the very least this made me feel like i got a better deal than i would have, and doing my own research before hand, i am happy to pay what i did. Cant say i got better or worse deals than other times, but I am no expert. And have little experience with these car financial dealings to make a good statement. For me i think the most important part was that i was treated well given the late night, and communication was very clear, which is far better than other places.I recommend them, and have continued to keep in contact with Josh and Kevin, and can say that they are genuinely good people working with. And all of them really made this purchase smoother than anticipated.

My experience at Toyota of Manhattan was perfect from the moment I entered the dealership. I was greeted and directed by a cheerful person who made me feel they were interested in making me comfortable. I had spoken to the salesman, Theo Ripoli by phone before I arrived and he knew my interests and that my time was limited. He made the vehicle available for a test drive and explained not only all the features of the truck, but also gave me an overview of the dealership and the thorough procedures the vehicle has gone through. I was quite confident that purchasing this FJ Cruiser would be the best choice for my son's first vehicle. When it came time to do business, Theo was most professional and we were able to strike a deal very quickly. Delivery was the next day. All paperwork was handled completely and professionally and aftersell was done with very complete explanations. All things considered, this purchase was a very pleasant experience with honest and caring individuals. I would recommend this dealership to any friend. I am currently considering another purchase from them myself.

This dealership is great. I as looking for a car for work with a 24 month lease and every other dealership refused to offer a 24 month lease term. I stopped by Toyota about 30 minutes prior to closing and Seth was happy to help me. We looked at a couple of cars and he helped to explain all of the feature. We then discussed my financial needs and Seth, Bryant, Jody and Mel were all happy to help and we were able to get a deal done that evening. Toyota of Manhattan is BAD!!I went there to buy an FJ Cruiser. I ended up buying elsewhere as they are priced well above the dealerships I visited. However, I went back for service since 2008 to service my cars since I live in Manhattan.Tow weeks ago they ordered a rubber strip part for my 2011 FJ. No one from Manhattan Toyota contected me about the part after I left.Today I called to find that the part had been there 2 days after I left. I made 20 calls so far and no one can tell me if they can fix the car today-- which is a 5 minute event.Every one I spoke to tells me they will call me back. I kept cal.ling but no one calls back.I called the line of Steve Kritikos, the Generral Manager but after an incomplete abnnouncement I get disconnected!!There is a rampant culture of profound apathy and indifference in Manhattan Toyota service!!Emad OmarAugust 4, 2012 * I dealt with 4 employees today and one last week--Steve Kritikos, the Generral Manager is not one of them.

We bought a new 2012 Toyota Rav 4 in May and had a fantastic experience. Seth was our sales person and he was extremely friendly, knowledgable and bent over backwards to make sure that we had everything we needed. We've had the car for almost three months now and took it all the way up to Maine and back. The only small complaint we would have is that when picking up the car, it took a while to get in front of someone to complete the paperwork. Lauren is great!I was having a major problem with Toyota Finance, they were wanting to charge me $1300 of additional fees for my leased Camry after the lease ended. I explained my problem to Lauren and she was EXTREMELY helpful and supportive. She made me feel like she was really on my side. Lauren kept me informed about the status and finally she arranged a very very favorable arrangement that totally satisfied me. As a result, only becausae of Lauren, I will go bck to Toyota of Manhattan when my current lease expires. She is great and Toyota of Manhattan has no idea how valuable she is to them.

The only reason I can recommend this dealership is because of Lauren. After purchasing a vehicle here, our sales associate, Carlos was supposed to send over the window sticker to our insurance agency so our coverage would continue. He assured me this was standard and he was on it. Well after speaking to my insurance agency several days later, I found out this was never done. Additionally, I'd be losing coverage at midnight that night unless papers were received. My husband and I called several times that day to get in touch with the sales manager Jody. He NEVER returned our numerous calls, as he couldn't be bothered with us now that he had our money. Finally, Lauren got on the phone and assisted me. As much as my blood was boiling, she stayed calm, friendly, and assured me she would take care of everything. Even as my insurance company's fax service was closing, she managed to call them herself and work things out efficiently, just in the nick of time. When I think of my dealings with Toyota of Manhattan I have such a bitter taste because of Carlos and Jody's incompetence. However, just because Lauren did such a fantastic job, I'd recommend anyone to go there and deal with her. She should be promoted to sales manager.

I purchased a Scion FR-S, a car which is quite difficult to get at that time because of the hype going around. They kept me updated on the ETA and put a fast track on it to speed up the process.They took care of everything including the financing, and made sure the additional options were correctly installed (3M clear bra, LoJack).Carlos Tovar is among the best salesman in my opinion, i had a great experience dealing with him, he is really nice and helpful.Regarding the financing part, Rashid Basir explained everything and answered to all my questions, FYI the dealership is supposed to close at 8:00PM during the week, we were there, including Carlos, until 10:30PM to close the deal.I totally recommend this dealership, if you want to purchase a Toyota or Scion vehicle, delivering a very high level of customer service.

I had tried another toyota dealer to get different pricing on a new Rav 4 lease. I was totally disgusted and discouraged after going to Lees toyota in queens. The manager was obnoxious and rude. After he gave me a pricing that did not fit my budget he proceeded to say what will i do when the lease was up in august if i couldn't get a car now. I got up and left. I waited a month and came to manhattan toyota. From the moment I walked in the people were courteous and within 5 mins someone was helping me. After talking to the manager he wasted no time in getting me a great deal on a Rav 4. The sales rep and finance officer were just as efficient and courteous. Not trying to push another car or extra insurance or cost to the car.I am extremely happy with my new car.

I had decided that it was time to replace my vehicle- so I did some on-line shopping for a certified pre-owned and there were a couple I was interested in seeing. Bryant was kind enough to show me those vehicles as well as let me look around to see if anything else caught my eye. Then Erick took me for a test drive.It was a great experience. Erick was knowledgeable, interested in me as a person- discussing my needs and uses for the vehicle and my feeling of loss over giving up my Prius. I bought a Corolla, as my needs had changed and the Corolla seems the best car for my needs and expectations. Then he helped me through the process and even helped me move my belongings from the old to the new car. He was great. very deceptive. they'll "agree" on whatever terms as long as you make a deposit. once that happens they'll make you wait to the last possible minute to just accept whatever terms they switched around on the final paperwork hoping you won't notice. you call them out on it and they try to guilt you into taking it saying so much work was put into it. very slimey. salesmen are nice, but I realize they have no real power in the end as it's the finance managers that do all the real paperwork.AVOID.

Your service there is excellent but I believe if someone comes in for an oil change, they shouldn't have to wait hours at a time. When you go to other places, it takes about half an hour. I know they may not inspect your car as well as you do but going to your dealership can take half a day. I believe that if you take care of the cars that need simple work and deal with them first, it helps declutter the area. I work in an ER and dealing with simple client work helps to retain them and the workers don't get stressed by seeing all the other work that needs to be done. Plus, do you realize that there is no public transportation next to you.

Both my father and I went in to possibly trade in my 2009 Toyota Yaris which was the first purchase done at the same location. Prior to that Vidal had spoken to my father about this possible trade in which at the time was not on our minds. That definitely changed shortly after having our appointment with Vidal and taking a look at the 2012 Toyota Rav4. I wanted payments to be in the same range as the Yaris give or take a little more as long as it was affordable. Being 9 months pregnant I feel he definitely had more patience with me than expected. Very respectful and answered all the questions we had. Unfortunately, they didn't have the color I wanted, but he called and told me to stop by and take a look at it which I did and loved. That same day around 9pm we left the dealer with a great deal thanks to Rashid and a great vehicle. I must say we will be returning back for another trade in, in a few years. Kevin was there to help us jump into the new vehicle and answered any questions we had about the car along with Vidal. Great customer service. I would definitely recommend them 100%.

In March 2012 I re-upped for a 3-year lease on a new RAV4 with Toyota of Manhattan. Vidal Salcedo was extremely friendly and eager to please, and was able to make the turn in of my old car and delivery of the new one as smooth as can be expected. Lots of follow-up to make sure everything was ok, which is good. There was a little negotiation with Kevin Primus over new lease terms, but he also was friendly, professional and willing to work with me. Only hiccup was that they upsold me a few extras when they brought out the new car, which was different from what had been discussed on the phone, but because this wasn't totally unexpected, and because I liked the extras (sunroof, radio upgrade) I was fine with it. When my lease expires in 3 years, I will be back and look forward to dealing with Vidal and Kevin again.

I received my first phone call from Joseph McKnight seven months before my Toyota Corolla LE 2010 lease expiration. After that, I received several phone calls, emails, letters, and cards from Joseph, Josephs supervisor Kevin Primus, and Toyota of Manhattan. All of the team members are very persistent in keeping their customers for a lifetime. I finally met Joseph and Kevin on May 2012 for the first time. They are both very nice gentlemen, extremely personable, highly professional, and very polite and I think Joseph is passionate with a kind heart. Joseph hugged me because he could not pronounce my last name on the phone. We all three discussed my options for returning my cars lease and leasing a brand new car again. Unfortunately, Kevin did not accept a deal that I was looking for and I felt that he did not want my business with Toyota of Manhattan any longer. I was in front of the building and the Toyota staff brought my car from the garage. A gentleman (I still do not know his name) that I think was Kevins supervisor started asking Joseph and Kevin about my car lease. He said very clearly and I quote, He kept his car in excellent shape. He asked many questions from Joseph and Kevin, and finally, he wanted to talk to Kevin and Joseph in his office. I was waiting in the street right in front of the building and I had two options in mind; return the car on the expiration date or just walk in Hyundai dealer and lease a Hyundai Sonata. They all came out and right away, this gentleman offered me a price.It was not a price that I was looking for but it was reasonable. I shook his hand and a deal was made. Kevin Primus, Joseph McKnight, and Melvin Guerra took care of the rest and made me feel like home and my brand new leased car was ready in one hour. I will give these gentlemen (I forgot to get his name), Kevin Primus, Joseph McKnight, and Melvin Guerra an A grade. I would love to be a lifetime Toyota customer.

A little over a month ago, I started inquiring about the availability date of the Scion FR-S. I initially contacted Plaza Scion since they were the closest to me. The agent I spoke with had NO clue of what the FR-S was. His answer to my question - When will the FR-S be available, was "Is that a new Honda?" from that point I knew I couldn't do business with them. How do you do business with someone who doesn't even know what they are selling? Of all the dealers I contacted, Scion of Manhattan proved to be the most knowledgeable. My initial call about the car was promptly returned by Joshua Hennion, who was extremely friendly, professional, and ready with any information I needed about the car. A prime example of who you would like to do business with. I was able to place a pre-order on the car and everything flowed smoothly from there. Last Saturday I visited Scion of Manhattan to finalize my transaction, and drive my FR-S back home. And I did just that. When I got there I was greeted by Joshua, and was also introduced to Kevin Primus who was to help me with the entire process. He was GREAT as well. A very professional, polite, well organized guy. Both Joshua and Kevin did a great job of making my first car purchase a very easy and relaxed one. I felt no pressure at all. I also worked with Ray Laureano who did a great job of explaining what my financing options/packages were, and he helped in getting all the paperwork finalized. With all that said, it was truly a GREAT experience, and I look forward to working with these guys in the future.

I can't say enough about Mr. Beco he really takes the time out to listen to his customers and make sure that he can fit them into a vehicle to take care of all of their needs. TOYOTA OF MANHATTAN...i have bought new toyota 2012 rav4 limited with full accessories( which were actually not) from toyota of manhattan. my experience was not good with toyota of manhatten.dealership.firstly i want to say that they did not consider the will of customer but they force the customer to accept their will. i was really depressed by buying a car from toyota of manhatten. i went in a intentionto buy a black rav4 with 7 seats and full accessorries. but the dealer told me that there is no black colour in this model and no 7 seater. when i get back home i saw on youtube there was the same rav4 2012 limited in low price was available with black colour and 7 seaterand company mention in .the manual with my new rav4 that there is 3rd row seats available in this model.I THINK PEOPLE SHOULD BE CAREFUL WHEN THEY GO TO TOYOTA OF MANHATTAN BECAUSE THEY NEED MONY NOT CUSTOMER SATISFACTION.there was a fred cosultant who was very nice and respected man but the thing is that when u ask any question from fred he keeps us waiting and goes to manager to ask.toyota of manhattan trap the customers by making a complex process of buying.and they drain the money from customers

I wanted to purchase a 2012 highlander, after looking at many other similar vehicles my wife and I decided this was the car for us. However after a bad experience at two other dealerships we almost were ready to begin our search all over again. I went in to Toyota/Scion of Manhattan and had nothing but the best experience. From the moment I walked in and spoke with Richard Makaran about the vehicle I felt they were being very fair/honest with me. Manager Bryant Tang is a very personable guy and I felt very comfortable buying my car from him. When it came down to the paperwork finace manager Rashid Basir was a nothing short of a gentleman. He went over everything with me and explained all my options. I took a long time thinking and talking with my wife about what other options to get, and I never felt pressured or rushed by him. Jerry Cheng took care of us all day on sat during the process of trading in our car and picking up our new one. He was extremely attentive and made the day stress free. This was a big purchase for me and the most money I have ever spent. These four guys made it a pleasant experience. I will tell everyone I know that if they want to buy a car this is the place to go.

Our new Highlander is the second we've leased from Toyota of Manhattan, and both Kevin and Joseph have stayed in touch with us over the period of the lease. They are not only extremely personable, but highly professional--spending a lot of time going over our options and remaining understanding and helpful even when the first car they offered--and we went back and forth about--didn't work out. I leased a RAV4 at this dealer in 2009, the lease was expiring in a few months, I had not decided weather to go back to this dealer,I contacted other dealers and when I spoke with Kevin I finally decided to go back to them for a new car. I was looking for a bigger SUV to meet the needs of the family. Thru the entire process, phone conversations and to the actual visit to the dealer, Kevin offered all the best possible deals and offers. My aunt and I were shopping for a car to share, and we walked into Toyota after a bad experience up the street at another dealer. Fred greeted us right away, we explained our budget and needs, and he took us around the place for more than an hour. I give him credit - my aunt and I were not on the same page on what we wanted. We couldn't find something so Fred suggested we go across the street to the garage/lot, where we noticed a Rav4 that just came in that morning - had not even been cleaned or anything yet - and we loved it. Fred and Jody got the car cleaned up and ready for our test drive a couple days later. We settled on a very reasonable price, they had it certified, fixed a scratch on the bumper and gave us a new windshield (there was a little crack from previous owner). The used car manager (Ron) was also helpful in getting that done ASAP. Also Ray (finance) got all the paperwork done that night.Over my week or so of correspondence with Toyota of Manhattan everyone was friendly and helpful, from the secretary to sales to the service guys. When I took my 4/yo daughter back to pick up the car, Fred gave her a pink balloon. Very cool.I'd go back..though not for a while b/c I expect this car to last 10 years more.

Kevin Primus and Vidal Salcedo are the best tag team Toyota Manhattan has. Right from the start of the sale, the experience was wonderful, no pressure at all. They were very friendly and helpful at all times will go back for sure, also Rashid Basir made the numbers all work and got me a very good monthly payment. This is impressive because I have less than stellar credit. I have never been the type to actually fill out a comment of any sort for anything before, but these guys won me over for sure. The last time I bought a new car was in 1997 and it wasn't a good experience. The guys at Toyota of Manhattan treated me like a VIP from day one. I shopped around after my initial vist to Toyota of Manhattan but returned to buy my car from these guys because they were knowledgable,didn't give me the run around and the customer service here is top notch. From the moment Kevin Primus turned us over to Vidal Salcedo, my husband and I felt extremely well taken care of. Vidal was courteous, friendly, energetic, helpful to get us through the process of leasing our Prius V. Vidal has excellent people skills. He knows the process, sensed that my husband wanted to move through the leasing as quickly as possible and he did everything to make that happen. It was the most pleasant experience we have ever had involving a car purchase or lease. Moreover, when we returned to pick up the car, Vidal was a very knowledgeable about teaching us very patiently about all the details of the car. He repeatedly offered to be available for further help with learning about all the details of the GPS and Apps/phone system. He did all the programming and on two subsequent occasions, he has provided in depth help, once at the showroom and this past Friday, he came up to our apt. building in Manhattan late on a Friday afternoon when our new Prius was dead and we could not get inside the car. He came up, showed us how to use the key to get inside the car, and then got the car started with a kit he brought from the showroom!!!!! Vidal is a very, very devoted salesman and we are so impressed with his extraordinary efforts to be kind and helpful to us. I would highly recommend Vidal to anyone I knew who was looking to buy a Toyota.

Vidal picked us up at our apartment for a test drive which was super convenient and he was able to answer our questions about the car before we even got to the dealership. I purchased a Prius from Toyota of Manhattan. I love the car, but the experience with the dealer left me feeling used and abused. I would not go back, and have not used them for service since. From the sales manager to the dealership owner who closed the deal, each step along the way was a real life parody of every dishonest car dealer cliche out there. At each step, the numbers agreed on changed, always more! Very slippery when it came to the actual price of the car. The sales manager and the dealership owner only wanted to talk, and write down for me to sign, monthly payments, never the actual price, or the amount to be financed. The financing numbers they offered were way off from what was told me to what was on the papers they wanted me to sign. They presented nearly blank forms to sign, without the final numbers. There were fees and charges added for non-existent 'bank fees and services'. I ended up bringing my own financing from my bank that was 4 points lower than their 'best'. (I have a stellar credit more than 30 years running). The $5K down payment I made disappeared and was not included in the final sales agreement presented. They made material misrepresentation about what was covered in the OEM warranty.They did treat me in a cordial and friendly manner while trying to fleece me with a smile.Like I said, I love the car, Toyota makes a great product, but if you buy from these sharks, beware. Check each document carefully as they will try to switch the paperwork around to saddle you with greatly inflated prices. I have not been back, will not go back, and have used a different dealer here in NYC for service. The purchasing experience made me not trust them to service the car. .

It's not often you say, "easy" when purchasing or leasing a vehicle. Joe and Kevin go out of their way to make the process as painless as possible. Their attention to detail is outstanding and their negotiation quite fair. Once I got to their finance officer, Mel, is was a a classic win, win, win situation. Buying a car from Jose Reyes and Bryant Tang was the worst experience of my life. This is the first car I brought from a dealership and did not know people can be so crooked. Jose is a con artist. Jose and Brian put on a show on how they were giving me the best pricing. I took the car for a test drive. Then once the paperwork was done to buy the car, Jose and Brian took the rims off the car and not only did they give me old rims but also tires that were not even part of the car. They played every game possible to mislead me and basically steal my money. Once I got to the finance department, the lady there tried to add 5K in bogus charges. I never knew a car buying experience was like that. All Jose Reyes cares about is stealing his customers money. He does not understand what it takes to earn a customers loyalty. His supervisor Bryant Tang was happy that Jose learned how to rip off customers from him. Once I brought the car, I realized they glued certain parts of the car instead of actually taking the time to fix any minor damages. Please do not buy from Jose Reyes. He is nothing but a con artist. A total fraud. This is the worst buying experience of my life. Stay away from Jose Reyes. He ripped me off and gave me the worst buying experience ever.

I was very anxious about trading in my 2005 Toyota Camry since we had finished paying it as of one yr and really did not want another debt. My husband did want to trade it in for a bigger car so we can drive around our grown adopted children. Well I decided to give in and claim it was an anniversary gift for him. My husband went to mahattan toyota since a friend had bought his toyota van there and recommended this dealership highly. We had dealt with the New Rochelle one but since the previous manager left we were not convinced to do business with them. They were too pushy and don't really listen to what you want, they just want to sell very expensive new cars for the commision. Well my husband went early on tues 12/27/11 with his friend. They check, they asked questions and came out with a pretty good possible deal but since I sign the papers, my husband took me in that same day. Lo and behold, the mngr and sales rep were friendly, couteous, thoughtful and went out of their way to explain everything to me that they had already explained to my husband. They stuck to the amount they had promised earlier. They took the time (I mention this cause it was late in the evening and I'm sure they wanted to go home but never made me feel like I needed to hurry up), showed me everything the van (a Sienna that sits eight) had. They brought me coffee and even in the financial dept a very nice gentleman took the time to explain every line of detail before I signed my life away. It has been little over a week and I am even happier now than I was at that moment, even after re-reviewing all my papers, and would not hesitate to bring everyone I can to this dealership. I am so impressed that in this day age we can still find someone who thinks longterm like Jody about wanting happy customers who will spread by word of mouth that they are the best. I had come into Toyota of Manhattan after a not so good experience at a different car dealership. Fred Sprill sensed my disappointment and walked over and told me I had come to the right place. I was a little aprehensive because I didn't really trust car salesmen and thought they were out to get as much money as possible from me. Fred was kind and patient. He took me to the used car show room and told me to pick out whatever I wanted and we would go from there. I picked all sorts of models as they have so many to chose from. All of my choices were of cars with great mileage and in excellent condition. I came in for a used 2006 or 2007 good condition, good milaged car. I left with a 2011 Camry with 8,214 miles!!! Brand new! Still has the new car smell. It's a silver LE 4 door sedan and he even threw in wood grain finishings inside and chrome finishings outside. I never thought I would get such a good deal. Fred even helped me with insurance and plates. This guy worked hard and did not give up until I got what I wanted. Thanks Toyota of Manhattan! I love my new (used) car!! Thank you Fred! I will send all of my friends!

Though I have owned and leased dozens of cars in my life, I have never returned to the same salesman once, until now. In June of 2009, I leased a beautiful Venza from Kevin Primus. Now last week, my family returned to Toyota of Manhattan, went right to Kevin, and within 90 minutes we had leased a brand new Prius. Kevin is a great salesman with a fantastic, honest approach to what he does. What makes him so successful is that he really works at getting you what you want at the number you want it. No BS. Just real visible effort. In order to accommodate us, Kevin also enlisted the help of Josh Hennion, who has a very easygoing, friendly demeanor. I never felt I was getting any kind of sales pitch from Josh. I actually felt he was a friend trying to help us decide what Toyota we wanted. In addition, Josh continued to go the extra mile for us, whenever we needed anything in the days following the purchase, such as a ride home, or contracts delivered personally. These two guys embody exactly what I would want in an ideal sales team. They are kind and hard working people that the customer feels he or she can trust.I will be back again. Honestly.

I gave the highest ratings because both Kevin and Vidal were excellent sales men. They called me constantly to let me know how my car search was going. I never had to call them to see what was going on. I wanted a car that wasn't readily available in a specific style and color. I was told by Bay Ridge Toyota (bad service there by the way) that the car could NOT be found. Kevin found it for me and he and Vidal delivered it to me within a week ( AND IT WAS PERFECT AND EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED). They are both extemely professional and super nice guys. The customer service they provided for me was FANTASTIC!!! They also came in much lower in price than Bay Ridge did. I have been a loyal Toyota customer for 10 years, Im on my 4th lease in a row now and I was treated like a one time customer in Bay Ridge. They were going to charge me full price for a 2011 camry se with no incentives and said they couldn't do any better. Kevin immediately gave me a lower price without even knowing what I was originally offered. It was the service of Kevin and Vidal that kept me at Toyota. They didnt know this but I was just about to change car companies because I was so disgusted with Bay Ridge! I was in and out in just under an hour which was a record for me. Anthony, the gentleman who did all my paperwork was also very nice and professional. He worked quickly and efficiently and had me signed up and out of there in no time. Bottom line.....this was the best exchange I have ever had and will continue on with Toyota of Manhattan. I just hope that my 2 wonderful salesmen will still be there next time around!! One of the worst service departments in the region. Car jockey broke my antenna bringing it down the elevator and never reported it. Prep guys and service techs failed to put down paper and soiled my floor carpets with grease from their shoes. Had quarters for parking meters routinely stolen from my ash tray, along with other possessions from my car during services. Service managers did little or nothing about any of these incidents when reported. Their actual routine service work is spotty at best - if you get a good tech on a good day and specify what you want done everything might be okay. But most of the time over my 6 year history at Toyota of Manhattan it wasn't! Repeated faulty brake liner readings by techs during regular services lead to my rotors burning out. Service department performed useless alignment to correct drifting complaint when left side struts and mounts were shot and needed replacement. I also believe I was a victim of fraud for a $2,000 repair that was never needed. Take your Toyota to Parkway Toyota in Englewood Cliffs, NJ. They are far and away the best Toyota service center near NYC and will get you a loaner car.

Lenny and Kevin were very helpful in helping me buy the car. Lenny took a lot of time to explin the features of the car to me, and in helping me understand the features. Kevin gave me a good price and trade-in on my old car. They both treated me well and gave went out of their way to help me with a smooth purchase and the logistics of the pickup of my new car. When I got the car, Lenny spent a lot of time with me in understnading how to work all parts of the car. John helped me with the paperwork and finishing the deal. Lenny helped me search all of the on-site used SUVs and what we decided together is that it would make much more sense for me to lease a brand new vehicle. The sales staff spent hours with us, taking into account our unique financing needs and staying way after closing time to set us up with the car we wanted. While the prices are as good as you can expect from Manhattan, the atmosphere and professionalism of the staff exceeded our expectations. I was dissapointed during my visit, they have unprofessional attitude, especially the sales person that I dealt with. I was interested on a used Highlander. When time to write up a contract, he lied about the price of the vehicle when asked, have me sign a contract that has the price column blank and sold me the car at the highest price.I put up $4000 in deposit already, found out they play gimmick w/ the price. Fortunately Toyota Financial turned my loan down so I can have my deposit back.The whole experience was bad, they try to play tricks and hope you fell for it. Avoid them if you can.I wound up buying my car from a MA Toyota dealer called WOBURN TOYOTA, very trustworthy, friendly, sold me a '11 Sienna for under invoice.

The friendliness and efficiency was wonderful. The manager of the dealership came out to introduce himself and told me that they would work with me to get me the car I wanted. He also came out again when I picked up the car to thank me for my business. They did what they said they would do and they did it within the time frame that they said they would. When I came to pick up my new car, Matthew had all of my papers prepared and waiting to be signed. My car was ready and waiting to be picked up. He took the time to sit with me in the new car and explain all of the features and activate my cell phone. They were very nice and I would recommend this dealership.

It was only by chance that Kevin spoke with us while we were looking at different cars at this dealership, but it sure was a stroke of luck! He presented us the different options to consider and answered all our questions and concerns about purchasing a 7-seater 2010 Rav4. Apparently, those are not that easily available, but Kevin did everything he could within the time frame he estimated (a week) to get it for us. Purchasing a car is not a speedy process, but we didn't feel time pass as it was so easy to talk to Kevin and Ray, even about things outside the car purchase. It was truly a pleasant experience because of their patience and consideration. Furthermore, we believe that they are just innately amiable. This dealer is the worst. I bought a Sequoia because I didn't want to have any issues with the quality of the vehicle. I had a Nissan Pathfinder before this that was bullet proof. I have only had the vehicle for about 12,000 miles and I am now having a significant transmission issue. It won't shift from park into drive without making a very loud clunking noise. After having the vehicle for 4 days, they are now claiming that it is within "spec". This has to be the worst dealer I have every dealt with.

We tried to buy a used Camry from them. But these folks are terrible. Vidal was our salesman and was a nice guy. But the dozen or so managers are awful. Firstly, a price has to go through god knows how many managers and they all keep putting it off and saying they can't get ahold of the manager they need to to get final approval so you sit there for hours. We negotiated a price with Vidal and started doing the paperwork. Then a manager informed us that his manager had not approved the price, even though they were starting the selling paperwork and had already sent us to the finance department. When we called them on it, they seemed surprised. But their strategy seems to be that if a customer has put in 6-7 hours of waiting around time, they'll just suck it up and pay the extra money and buy the car rather than repeat the experience again at some other dealership. They are awful - save your time and money - don't shop here!

09/04/2009With a horrible experience at East Coast Toyota, a different salesman at East Coast agreed to give us a Rav4+3rdRow for 23600 (+$300doc $200RegFee). Toyota Manhattan being close by to my job, I decided to stop by to see if they could match it before I wasted time driving back into Jersey for round two. So I did an "internet Chat" on w/ a "female" on their website that seems to go by the same name 24/7 and she said she'll take down my info and pass the quote to a salesman who will call me back in the morning by 10am.11am comes around and I'm about to get off work with no phone call. So i called Manhattan directly and again asked if they could match the quote, and was told a salesman would call me back again. I did recv a callback from Frank Beco who said yes, they can match EastCoast's quote of 23.6 and will meet w me later. My fiance & I get there by 12:30 and Frank refers us to Salesman Jay. He looks at our quote and counters with a 24200 quote. wth?!?! so fine, we play along and see what OTD is.. and it's 200$ above EastCoast. Manhattan does NOT have the car, but said will get it for us. We said we'll pay the xtr 200$ ONLY if they can get it in Pacific Blue (which EastCoast did only had silver) and Manh said they DEFINITELY can get and they'll call us the next day to follow up for a downpayment to secure the transfer. So we decided not to go to EastCoast and wait for Manhattan's good news.. We dont hear back from Manhattan for the next few days so we assume they never found the car (as it is rare to have a 3rdRow RAV4 and especially in PacBLUE). & since Manh didnt call the very next day, we followed up with EastCoast to see if their offer was still standing at 23600, we were not going out to jersey for east coast the 2nd time for nothing. EastCoast never returned our multiple msgs left so we gave up on them as well. NOW...10/27/2009 today... we are STILL receiving emails and phonecalls weekly from Manhattan Toyota asking us if we are still interested in buying a RAV4. they are spamming us despite responding to EVERY single email and phonecall saying we already bought our RAV4 and TAKE US OFF YOUR CONTACT LIST!! Their internet dept is a FAKE and only uses it to insist that you come in to the dealership. do NOT give them your email, or phone number!!w/ a twist, thankfully Manhattan had prevented us from going to EastCoast to buy a Silver RAV4 that we DONT want, and instead we found Lawrence Toyota who has an EXCELLENT Internet Dept conducting paperwork & communications via email,fax,&phone, and FOUND the pacific blue RAV4 i wanted and drove it up 250miles from Maryland to NJ. and to sweeten the deal, it came with xtr accessories at the same price as EASTCOAST. This was my first time buying a car. I originally went to Bayridge Toyota. After spending 6+ hours there, my whole deal for Cash For Clunkers would not go through because they they were not sure if they could get reimbursed by the government. I feel that they knew that from the beginning and were misleading in their actions to get me to do so much paperwork that I would wait for the deal to go through no matter what. After leaving there, I called Toyota of Manhattan. I was told to see Greg Gordon when I came in. It was late and near closing time when I got there after spending so much time at Bayridge Toyota.Upon entering Toyota of Manhattan, Greg Gordon and I got down to business. Greg Gordon listened to my story, I told him Bayridge Toyota lost my business, and that it was Toyota of Manhattan's turn. Greg Gordon stepped up to the plate in a BIG way. Courteous, straight forward, and professional. It couldn't be easier. He saw what I was trying to get done (Cash For Clunker deal and a car ASAP) and was making it happen flawlessly. I'm a quick person and he worked at my speed. I think I was out of the dealership at around 20 min with a smile on my face getting everything I wanted. I had my doubts this was going to work because the car I wanted was sold out everywhere. I called him over the couple of days I had to wait for the car. He picked up the phone EVERY time I called and gave me the latest update on my arriving car along with the time to be at the dealership to pick it up.The final paperwork went through easily with Greg Gordon and his other coworkers. The car I wanted arrived as promised. Not one problem with Toyota of Manhattan or Greg Gordon. I appreciate that he was true to his word, professional, and easy to work with. Could not ask for more. I have been telling stories of how great Greg Gordon was to work with when buying a car. I will be referring him to all my friends.

Please be aware that Toyota of Manhattan uses fraudulent tactics with their customers, namely "bait and switch" approach. I was looking for RAV4 V6 Limited 09. This dealership was close to my job & I decided to give them a try. I was asked to come in to discuss what type of car I wanted. After a lengthy negotiation, we were able to settle on a price that was acceptable to me. However, I had to wait to receive a car, not a problem since the price was right. Once the car came in, I went in and spoke to their finance guy. We agreed on all details & the only thing left was for the general manager to approve my deal. I was told the manager was not there, but they would call him & call me back. Since by the end of the day no one called me, I called them myself. I was told by sales manager that deal was not approved & they were going to refund my deposit. The next morning I went to back to them to see if I can salvage the deal, but was told that the car was already sold. At that point they offered to order me a new vehicle at a new higher price. All I would have to do is wait another month and pay an extra $2000 over the original agreed upon price.My advise take your business somewhere else.

I am a middle aged lady who has NEVER bought or leased a car before and I was TERRIFIED of the process. Kevin was GREAT. KIND, PATIENT, FRIENDLY and most of all he answered all of my questions over and over. He was always responsive and fair. He spent an enormous amount of time with me. The sales personnel were very attentive and at first I thought I was getting good service. However, I went in to buy a 2010 Corolla and was convinced the price was too high for my requirements. They steared me to a 2008 Corolla and charged me a price for the 2008 that was the same as the invoice for the 2010. I was at fault because I wasn't familiar with the Blue Book Values. This was my first car purchase in 28years. Neeedless to say, I was imbarrased when my friends informed me I had been taken to the cleaners. I paid $15000 for a 2008 Corolla with 39900 miles, minor body damage, with a $2000 down payment. I chose them because of the ratings they received on this webpage.

We were greeted by Jason de Jesus at Toyota of Manhattan, and he was the best salesmen by far. He bundled together an attractive sales package of a used 2006 Avalon, and we signed the contract that same day. He took care of us from beginning to end as we were his only customers. Toyota of Manhattan can be extremely proud of having Jason on staff. If anybody asks us where ot buy a Toyota, we will receommend to go straight to Jason. We like our new car, and we loved how Jason took care of us. Finance manager Ray Laureno was equally a plesure to work with. He got us an attractive financing deal and concinced us to get a certain 7 yr/100,000 mi protection package that exactly fit our circumstances. If it were possible to give this dealership less than a 1 rating, I would. DO NOT repeat DO NOT come here to buy a car. Or to lease one. Or for servicing. FOR ANY REASON AT ALL. The people who work here are a unique combination of arrogance, incompetence and crookedness. We initially leased a car from this dealer for 3 years (bad idea). The salesman who initially "helped" us with our lease provided us with no information on the car we wanted. He also got the colour of the car wrong. 3 years later, we wanted to purchase the car. We called and got absolutely no help or information at all, except for "when do you want to come in?". We did not want to make an appointment to meet with these people and waste an entire day. I demanded to know the paperwork and anything else that might be required. After several phone calls Mr. Howard sent me a credit application form. Frustratingly, he did not understand the difference between a sole proprietor and a corporation. Finally we made an appointment to buy the car. Having told us that we needed nothing but "the car and our driver's license", guess what - we needed a slew of other things which we had to scramble to get. We were so flustered by the whole experience, that when they finally gave us the credit application to sign, we unwittingly agreed to an additional $6500, yes, $6,500 in OPTIONAL warranties and guaranties. AT NO TIME AT ALL WERE WE TOLD THAT THESE WERE OPTIONAL. It was only when I called up to get further clarification on the numbers (which incidentally took 3 phone calls - they are LOATHE to give you any information AT ALL), and my further enquiries that I was told that these were optional. THEY ARE CROOKS. All my communication with these people has not failed to frustrate me completely. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

I like how they madesure they had the car or would get the car i was look for befor doing any paper work, not like some otherdealers that say they have the car you looking for and then try to take your deposit.Kevin who was the dealer that took care of me was the best him and his team. kevin made sure that the car i wanted (scion tc RS 5.0) he had or would get for me, not like some other dealership that i went to (east coast toyota/scion NJ) who told me they had the car and told me it would take 4 weeks to get my car and they try tosell me something that i didnt want and $2,000 more, "What The Fu*k" so i got my deposit back and went to toyota/scion of Manhattan it took 1 hour to find my car and next day drove off :-)(KEVIN IS THE MAN!). i even ask for pizza just joke around cause they would all ways ask if i need any thing and they wear willing to get it for me how cool was that. overall i had a fun time with all the guys at toyota/scion of manhattan THANK YOU!

I went to Toyota of Manhattan on a Sunday afternoon to look at the Rav4 and Highlander. Mike Ruperto was helping me within moments of walking through the door. Right from the beginning he was extremely friendly and receptive to all my questions. He made it very easy for us to test drive both vehicles and helped us come to our decision on purchasing the Rav4. When I came back to make the purchase he made the negotiation process extremely easy and we agreed on a very fair rate. Within two days he had the car ready for pick-up even though he had to drive out and get it himself. I have been shopping for a Highlander Hybrid for the past several months and visited or got quotes from several dealers in New York City, New Jersey and Long Island. Initially I contacted this dealer via email and I dealt with Theo who manages the Internet inquiries. Theo was responsive and persistent, even after 2-3 months lapsed. What triggered my purchase was the fact that this dealership offered a $3000 discount on all Hybrid models during the duration of the NY car show (Theo sent a mailer out to his contacts). So at that point I got firm quotes from a couple of other dealerships and Toyota of Manhattan's price came out on top. When I went to visit the dealership Theo passed me on to Kevin, who couldn't be nicer, more efficient and willing to help. In fact all the people I dealt with were quite nice. I was able to seal the deal, find a car with the color and options I wanted (they had to bring it in from CT), and get all the paperwork done in just a few days. I picked the car up yesterday. Hopefully the service experience will be just as good (or you'll hear from me again). I should add that my transaction was particularly smooth because I knew what I was going to buy and that I was going to buy that car, and I knew color and specs from the start. So I was perfectly willing to give my information and put a deposit down when I finally visited the dealership. If you are still kicking tires you may be less willing to do so and a salesperson may seem pushy if they try to get all sorts of stuff from you. Nevertheless, I am surprised to read some of the less positive comments on this dealership as that was not my experience at all. I am a 19-year customer of Lexus and clearly the customer experience there is very good and hard to match. However, I have also dealt with other dealers (Honda, Ford, etc.) and Toyota of Manhattan, as a dealer experience, certainly beats my experience with many other dealerships over the years.

It is always hard purchasing a pre-owned car, especially in this tough economy. My dad and I went to this dealership for an "internet" special car, which was advertised for $3K cheaper than what we were told when we got to the dealership. Apparently you have to put an additional payment of $3K in order to get the price advertisement - so why not just post the true price?! The advertising dept is bad but after the shock settles in and we realized the deal for the car was still ok, the people who work at Toyota were helpful. Especially Theo Ripoll. I highly recommend anyone to speak to Theo as he is honest (gasp!) and actually shared information that I would have not otherwise known to ask. It's a tough economy all around and the best way to alleviate it is to continue to stimulate through sales. If you need a Toyota/Scion in Manhattan I highly recommend doing the research on the NET total price for the car first and then working with Theo. Good luck!

Please be aware that the prices of their cars posted on the website have nothing to do with reality - it is just a trick to get the customer to come in. I came in to look at the car that was listed for $18k, and after they made me wait for 3 hours (and I was 9 months pregnant at the time) and endless talk of three managers the price of the car turned out to be $24k. They suggested that I should look at some different car - inferior to the one I wanted to buy. This used car sales tactic is called "bait and switch", and they seem to be good at using it on naive customers.There are three dealerships that have the same owner: Toyota of Manhattan, Bay Ridge Toyota and Fordham Toyota. I had been deceived and misled by the first two, so they seem to have similar practices. Please be aware of these unfair business practices and take your business elsewhere.

RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN! In over 20 years of buying a car I have never had an experience as miserable as the one I had yesterday at this dealership. We came in to purchase a used Toyota that was advertised on the dealer's web site. Since we were driving to Manhattan from Westchester I asked our original salesman, Robert, if the car was available at the advertised price. He assured me they had many models to choose from and I would have no problem finding a car in my price range. I called when we were about 10 minutes from the showroom and Robert said he'd have someone meet us out from to valet park our car. When we got to the showroom, in about the time estimated, no one was there to park our car. I was told that Robert had gone to lunch when I called to see where he was. Explained the situation and was told they'd send someone out. We waited 15 minutes so I went in to the dealership and asked what happened. Jose said he'd send someone out, which finally happened. Then, as we were waiting in the street, the 'Manager' John comes over to say he was looking for me. Really? Well, I was kind of hard to miss and I never saw him even looking in the street. He was standing across the street eating chips and he offered to shake my hand with his saliva, greasy fingers. Ugh! Jose held us captive for over 1 1/2 hours, taking my husband's credit card "as a sign of our good faith" which is why we could not run away plus I wanted my car back. In the end, his "best offer" was $100 off a car that was $5,000 more than I told him I was willing to spend. Luckily, we got out of there. I'm so disgusted we're buying a Honda from another dealer with a good rating.

The people at Toyota of Manhattan are nice, but nice won't fix my car the right way. Nice is about the only thing they have going for them.I was told I had to have parts of my A/C replaced, and after I went to pick up my car, I was driving upstate in hot weather, A/C on Med-High with Lukewarm air blasting out - then my daughter in the passengers seat tells me there is water dripping on her feet. I call Toyota and tell them this, they have me bring the car back in (a huge inconvenience between the train ride downtown and the 20 minute walk over to the west side highway). I was not apologized to by anyone because of their mess-up.On a separate occasion, I had to go in for a tire, oil & battery change and to have a piece of the side molding reattached since it had come off. I was talked into a couple of extras, which ended up being just under $2,000. When I went to pick up the car, not only had they NOT reattached the piece I had asked them to, but they had ALSO knocked off a piece of the back molding while the car was in the shop, and just threw it in the front seat with the one they had not reattached. I complained, and again, was not apologized to, and was told to call my service provider in the morning and bring the car back in the next day (another huge inconvenience since I use my car for work).Needless to say, between the half-ass jobs that are done here, the high labor-rates they charge, and the fact that I am always getting talked into unnecessary fixes, I will NEVER be returning to Manhattan Toyota again. I always leave there with a sour taste in my mouth from the service, and they've had 5 chances and failed at every single one.Do not bring your car here!!!

I would not trust these people if I were just buying a candy bar from them. I spent hours in the store being shown vehicles I didn't want with more features than I asked for. But they kept saying that they wanted to put me into something nicer, and made me feel guilty when I would not budge on price for that something nicer. Finally, we agreed on the low-options car I wanted a simple Corolla, at a price I was happy with. They said to come back at 4 to pick it up. When I got there, they told me the car they meant to sell me was scratched when it arrived, and they can't sell it. But here is a similar one, in a slightly different color, with fancier wheels, and of course, a higher price. I was furious, especially since they had got me to put $3000 down already on my credit card. I refused to pay the higher price, and they said it would take several days to refund my car. I don't know why, since the Gap can execute a return in moments, but luckily, the credit did finally appear on my card. For the next several days, Greg kept calling me to say that they found the car I wanted. Will I work with them on price. What can they do to make me feel comfortable. When I said give me an even better price than we had negotiated, Jody said he would have had given him the courtesy of calling him back sooner after he left a message (What?). Avoid this place! These guys cannot be trusted. I bought a Honda across the street and it was the exact opposite experience I loved the dealership and I love my car.

I had a very positive experience purchasing the car. I ended up spending more than expected, but I guess that just makes them good sales people. They impressed me as being pretty straightforward. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. I am very happy with the car.

My wife and I were treated very well and left Toyota of Manhattan with a terrific Highlander Hybrid and fewer nasty thoughts about sale-people than we anticipated! Jason was our salesman; he graciously took us around and was excellent at his job. If you need a car, call him. Greg, the finance chief, was very pleasant and super at explaining the various programs...we came away comfortable with our financing. Jody, the used car manager, handled a few details with grace that made the purchase ultimately quite smooth. We're very pleased.

"I decided to purchase a Toyota 4Runner in October of 2008, and since Toyota of Manhattan was in such close proximity, I figured I would get the truck from there.Let me preface my experience by saying that giving them a 1 star rating is generous. The dealer was obviously a rookie, who had to take cigarette breaks in between deals, and the sales manager (John) who tried to emulate a professional, completely lived up to that 'sleazy dealer stereotype'.After being told a final price which was supposed to include EVERYTHING, I signed the contract, and made arrangements to pick up the truck later that week. The truck had previously been owned by a family prior to my purchase (due to the evidence of crumbs, cheerios and snacks left behind in the back seat). It was agreed that the truck would be fully cleaned out, which in reality is something that a customer shouldnt have to mention or take note of. Needless to say, when took the truck home, I folded down the back seats, and sure enough the remnants were still there. I had to pay $50 out of pocket to get the car properly cleaned and detailed! Not too mention the 1/4 tank of gas they so graciously left in the truck for me to get around in.All of the above aside, I really didn't experience the full potential of Toyota of Manhattan's unprofessionalism until approx 2 weeks later, when I received a call from the finance manager, Greg (who at best is a Gotti boy wannabe), stating that they had neglected to include the sales tax in my contract, and that I would have to go back in so they could add it in. My response was well... it sounds like a personal problem seeing as how three of your employees (2 of which are managers) reviewed the contract before i signed it.. It was obviously a major oversight on their behalf -- An oversight a customer should not be responsible for.Nevertheless, after a week or so BS banter, Gotti boy stated that the State was going to revoke my registration, and that I would not receive my new one after the temp expired. I laughed because earlier that week, I had received the Reg mailed directly from Toyota of Manhattan. His response to that was "Well, they shouldn't have sent that." So obviously he was lying and felt completely desperate. Then they decided to attack me further, and say they were going to send me to collections if I didn't pay the sales tax.In the long run, I decided that paying for their mistake was my only recourse, if it meant never having to deal with them again.Their word means absolutely nothing, and overall, they are unethical in their approach to business."

Toyota of Manhattan gives car dealers a bad name. We were suckered into the dealership with promises of 0% financing. We specifically told them on the phone that we want a hybrid and they said no problem. When we got there the salesman was nice enough. He said he didn't know about 0% financing on hybrids, but if we'd been told than on the phone then he was sure it would be worked out. We spent a couple hours there, did a test drive, went over everything we wanted. We were ready to buy a $55 k car, without chiseling them down on price. We just wanted the 0% financing. He said the finance department would call us back the next day. We put down a "fully refundable" deposit on my credit card. Next day comes, no call. We call them the following day. After being told they'd have to get back to us later, we finally spoke around 8 in the evening. They said that all they could do was almost 7% financing. With my good credit we could do better from a bank. To top it off, they wouldn't refund my fully refundable deposit without us coming in. Probably for more of their not-so-soft sell. We went to Manhattan Auto the next day and I'm the proud owner of a Ford Escape Hybrid with much better financing. Avoid Toyota of Manhattan unless you want a headache. FOLLOWUP: Well, I have to say that Chris came through on my refund. After a month of wrangling with my bank, I went in to Toyota, spoke with Chris, and got my money credited within the week. I still can't recommend Toyota, but if you feel the need to do business with them, please make sure Chris is involved.

I agree with everyone else. The experience was so bad it's not barely even worth going into. I had written proof in an email about an agreed upon price, but when I went in the salesman told me to speak to his manager. The manager said they would never sell a car at that price and did not feel the least bit bad that I was totally lied to. The guy next to me was having similar issues with bait and switch. I can't believe these guys are still in business.

I called the dealer looking for a new Landcruiser. I was told they had plenty of inventory and went down to lease the car. When I got there they only had demos. I put a $4000 fully refundable down payment on ademo Landcruiser.On the same day I found a new Landcruiser at a better price at another dealer. I called the Sales Associate and cancelled the deal. I was told it was no problem and that the deposit would be credited to my card. After 6 months, I still have not gotten the deposit back. I have complained to the Better Business Bureau only to find out that several of these very same complaints had been filed against this particular dealer.Stay away.

Crooks 100 % ,liars 100 % non professional,poor service.I bring my car for seat belt recall and Toyota dealer offer me shampoo and test for free for $250 and this is my worst mistake in my life.I bring my cabin filter and ask them to install and manager were told me this not easy and charge me additional $40 and promise me all "JOB" will be done 4:30 pm.I bring my car at 8:30 AM.Some how the call me and ask me to replace timing belt,fluids and other BLST.And i refuse those BLST.At 4:30 pm car was not ready and after they inform me they broke my antena with the bezel and promise me to replace it.Cabin filter was in the same box it mean they never replace the filter and mechanic open the filter location for 1 minutes(I was charged $40)'According the "Low" labor charge is $95 but I overpayed Crooks all over.Anyway they forget to instal my seat cover,and floor mats plus tire pressure cap wasnt there + when they washed my car antena fail off and scratched windshield and hood.I file the complain with Toyota corporation,still waiting from them.Will go to the court somebody have to bring those crooks down they are crooks I dont think they are Americans ,crooks cant be Americans.Good Bless USA.

The worst experience of my life. Called up negotiated a deal on the phone with Tabitha and drove 30 miles to get there. Was told that Tabitha was in phone sales and cannot negotiate price. When I spoke to the manager Mark Levine he called me a liar and said that she never offered me the deal I had driven out of my way for on Father's Day to get. Then he would not give me a card or answer any more of my questions, he just kept getting louder and louder saying, "Have A Nice Day" to the point he was yelling it in the end. Use this dealer if you want to be treated like crap, have Bait and Switch used on you and be verbally abused by the staff. OUTRAGEOUS that they are still operating!

Salesman pulled a bait and switch when my 82 and 75 yr. old parents arrived to pick up their corolla. Interior color was different than ordered and one option missing. Took delivery of car cause my father's insurance policy grace period was expiring or else would have walked out. Promised the option then reneged. The General Mgr. promised to make it right and fedex the accesory but never did. Just kept on lying until we gave up: but he did it with a smile. Toyota of America customer service was no help, they have no authority over an independent dealer. Dealership's customer svc. mgr. said she did not deal with sales.

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE! I wasted my time with Toyota Manhattan dealer. After discussed a deal for a RAV 4 for 3 days, I stopped by there to actually buy the car. They made me wait almost 2 hours to tell me that the deal we had it was not valid anymore!!!! They raised the price twice without notice! Do you have business with them? BE CAREFUL!!!!!!! <br>
