This review is for Alex Ramirez, Senior Service Advisor/Manager at Magnussen's Toyota Palo Alto. His job responsibilities include dealing with customers, scheduling/managing repairs and maintenance, estimating costs, and consulting with technicians. Vehicle problems are stressful for me, so I place emphasis on a smooth yet efficient customer experience. I have known Alex for five years and have found him to be one of the best service advisors/managers I have ever dealt with. Alex listens carefully to whatever I tell him regarding my concerns and issues with the vehicle. He does a solid job of coordinating his team's activities in the diagnosis and repair of those problems as well as scheduled maintenance. When the problem is not within the scope of Magnussen's, he directs me to the proper facility or business, in short, doing whatever needed to diagnose and fix issues. For example, I recently had a tiny fluid leak on one of my cars. Alex traced it to a hairline crack in the fuel tank. He outlined all my options, discussing the advantages and safety issues involved in each alternative. In thanking him for his effort, he replied: "No problem, it's what we do." Alex is: • Knowledgeable and eager to help with any need, concern, or problem • Honest and reliable, giving excellent and trustworthy information on just about any service or repair issue • Reasonable and correct on pricing • Good at recommending needed/scheduled maintenance and explaining difficult-to-understand problems in simple terms In short, Alex is a seasoned Service Manager who will direct his team in the performance of superior vehicle repair and maintenance services for your car, doing whatever is needed to ensure customer satisfaction. I highly recommend him for all your service needs.

Great experience in the service department working with Alex Ramirez. Alex was careful to explain the necessity of all the work he recommended and wasn't pushy with any of it. I was also pleasantly surprised by the reasonable pricing of the work. I've been working with Alex on maintaining our Camry for years now, and I have no reason to look elsewhere. The only thing keeping me from 5 stars is the fact that they use a system that asks you to rate them in an email where they push you to rate on Google only if you say you were happy with their service. Otherwise they just ask you to complain directly to them instead of publicly. I don't think there's anything wrong with the practice per se, but it does make me a little wary and I think it's worth being aware of when you're looking at their reviews.

I received an excellent service from Chris: he delivered the service in very nice way, everything was taken care of without much waiting, and the car was done as promised on-time. Only suggestion - would be nice if car was washed after the service.

Randall Ricalde undertook the service management of my 2007 Prius this year. Because I am now 85, I drive much less than in the past. He told me that an annual service would serve me well. During the service he kept me updated on what needed to be done, costs involved and time to do the work. I waited for my car. When the service was completed he explained what was found, the car is still in great shape, only 53,000 miles, and drives well. I bought my car from Magnussen's Toyota 14 years ago and have continued the service with them. Could not be more pleased.

To avoid contact during this pandemic, I spoke with Alex Ramirez about the possibility of someone from Magnussen's picking up my car from my driveway and returning it there after service was completed. Initially the response from management was that it couldn't be done. But somehow Alex convinced management to change the policy, and he was the one who picked up my car and returned it. Thank you Alex for making it happen. I've been a customer for about 25 years, during which time I've bought four Camry and two Prius vehicles from them. Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with them, both in sales and in service, and I expect to continue to use them in the future. As a former teacher, I am well aware of the ratings process. In general, people who are displeased give negative ratings, while people who are happy don't bother to provide any ratings. Magnussen is an extremely popular dealership; just look at the crowds any morning. They must be doing something right!
