Alton made our experience truly exceptional. He wasn't pushy, allowed my husband and me to ask about 1,000 questions and was all around a very nice and fun person. Rather than saying why we shouldn't buy another brand, he was positive and told us all of the great things that Volvo could offer us. We also dealt with AJ in financing since we're leasing. He was extremely helpful and went above and beyond as well. He made a list of things we needed to cancel so we didn't forget anything and explained everything concisely. Daniel was my salesperson and he was very professional and extremely knowledgeable about the Volvo product. He allowed us to test drive on our own. When we returned to purchase he sat in backseat and explained all the major items of the XC60 & answered all my questions. This dealership made you feel your time mattered and was very accommodating. My vehicle was brought in for regular maintenance and a check up on the tire pressure monitor. I was greeted promptly and told the car would be ready in about one hour. I asked about tire rotation and was told it would be done only if needed. The vehicle was ready in about an hour and it was determined that tire rotation was not needed! This was a first for me. I've never experienced a car dealer that would pass on the opportunity to preform a suggested service! Kudos to the integrity of your service department.

AJ spent as much time as I needed to become comfortable with the vehicle and options that would best suit my needs. "Excellent, no pressure, easy car purchase!" are words I never thought I'd say! Buying a car in a hurry after a total wreck is no fun but if I had to do it again, I'd sure as heck try to make it happen with AJ and the staff at University Volvo. While we thankfully managed to negotiate everything remotely (while I was traveling) before I went to pick up the car, I was concerned that I'd spend hours on site and not be back in time to pick up the kids from school. I was pleasantly surprised by the efficiency (in and our in way less than an hour!) and knowledge of AJ and Greg and learning that both had worked at at University Volvo for years and over two decades confirmed that I was spending my money at a dealership that values and invests in sustainable relationships. Highly recommend University Volvo, they made this part of my wreck recovery easy, efficient and as close to "fun" as it can get!

Sales staff were excellent and very professional. No gimmicks, hassles or usual car dealer's games. I stop by on a Saturday to test drive. Then when back on following Monday to finalize the deal and took delivery on Wednesday. I still have to get certain accessories that's on order but I don't foresee any problems.

We had a rear brake noise with our XC-70 and called University Volvo for an appointment. I was expecting 1-2 days before they could work me in the schedule. The person I spoke with indicated they would make room to the our car that afternoon because it could be an important issue with the brakes. After service inspection it was determined that the XC-70 needed rear brake pads.The work was completed in a reasonable time frame. We have bought several new Volvos from University and the experience was been excellent, during and after the sale. I highly recommend them.

I came into the dealership late on a Saturday afternoon with my 5 year old in tow to test drive an XC90. I ended up deciding to purchase and Daniel and Greg couldn't have been better with a) staying late to finish the purchase with me and b) putting up with a 5 year old who would have rather been ANYWHERE else other than where he was. I had a 120K service done on my Volvo S-40. Knew this would be an expensive one, and I intend to keep this car for a while, so knew it was a worthwhile investment. There were also some other issues found during the inspection, so I had them done as well.Well- my wallet took a hit....$2,200! However, the " emotional sting" was lessened due to the exemplary customer service afforded me. Art, Tanya and George took care of me with travel to and from the airport, as I had travel on business while I had the work done. I started looking at Volvos late last year after driving an XC90 and falling in love with it. I was looking for a very specific XC90 with a combination of features that specifically met my needs. I started working with AJ back in April and immediately I knew he was going to treat me fairly and be honest about what I wanted, the cost and options involved. AJ and I have exchanged several dozen emails since and he has always been very professional, quick to respond and eager to help. When we couldn't locate the car I wanted, he worked with me on ordering a 17, and keeping me updated throughout the process. The car buying experience was really exceptional. AJ took the time to show me all the features of the vehicle (and there are a few!) and made sure I was comfortable with it before leaving. Greg in Finance was also excellent and provided the best financing experience I've ever had. I didn't feel like I was being rushed and we went through every section thoroughly and I was able to ask questions along the way that really helped me understand what I was signing. They both made great recommendations and have already followed up and made sure I have everything I need. Service like this is hard to come by, especially when buying a new car. They've made me a Volvo customer for life, thank you Gentlmen! It was truly pleasure.

I had a ding in my passenger side door so I called University Volvo and spoke with Arthur. He told me that they had a guy who specialized in that sort of thing and that I should bring the car in. Well, when I dropped by, they repaired the ding in about forty-five minutes and I was on my way. I was very happy with the sales experience/process at this dealership and the service is just as good.

I recently shopped for and purchased a new XC60 at University Volvo and I absolutely love the car. It's even better than what I'd originally asked for. On top of that, the shopping and buying experience was a pleasure (as ideally it should be but sometimes isn't for a woman, or a man for that matter). I worked with AJ Varrichione. From the first test drive to the pricing to the paperwork, the tone remained upbeat and friendly. Communication was great. We worked out the details/pricing through a couple of emails, and I never felt pressured. Picking up the car took half an hour, working with Greg Cole, and I left feeling happy in my new Volvo. I couldn't have expected the car buying deal to be so easy but it was. Glad I ended up buying here and would recommend to others.

Our XC70 was in for it's 30,000 miles service this week. Every aspect went smooth as always. Scott was the service advisor and during the write up he explained in detail what was to be completed. Art oversaw this process and provided additional information. I took my daughter auto for some minor repairs and while in the dealerships possession they damaged the drivers door handle. They admitted to the damage, how could they not as the handle was ripped off the door, and agreed to replace the handle. When my college senior daughter picked the auto up the high and low beam light handle was damaged- she would not have seen this until dark and necessary to use high beams. When brought to their attention the service fellow, Scott and their service manager, side with the tech whom, of course rejected he damaged the pieces- same service dept and tech who literally tore off the door handle. Of course, too replace the door handle, you have to disassemble the door, from the inside, and easily a unfocused tech could have leaned on this pieces and damaged it while he was working on the door- the piece didn't decide to snap on its own. Nonetheless, the dealership assumed working with a college kid, young adult, they could simply blow off the issues... and they did. So, now I have to sue this dealership for property damage while the vehicle was in their possession. They have had great reviews but I guess they feel, what the xxxx, a college kid... but they didn't think of who maybe the parents were... big mistake!

In the course of two phone calls, we had a car lined up with the specs we wanted at a fair price without haggling, follow-ups, etc. We had approached other Volvo dealerships in town/region and had very different experiences. Repeated calls, only to get offered a car that did not meet our expectations, with little/no discount from MSRP offered. Efficiency, courtesy, and no-nonsense price offerings. Finding the best deal on a quality vehicle sometimes requires one to expand their search to a completely different state. This can be stressful and time consuming for many reasons. Some of us only have a small window of time to go car shopping, so when traveling out of state to look at a car, you want to make sure you know what you're walking into before you make the trip! I asked AJ for honesty and detail on the used car we were interested in, and that's exactly what he gave me. It was just as described when we got there, and even then, there was no pressure to buy. After 2 test drives and an unbeatable deal, we purchased a beautiful SUV for our growing family! I hate car shopping, but I would gladly do it again if it meant working with such an outstanding team as University Volvo!!

We were interested in overseas delivery. At the time I inquired, we lived in New Mexico and knew that we would be moving somewhere near Durham, NC. I did research on overseas delivery and Volvo dealers in North Carolina. Your agency stood out. We could have used a dealer closer to our home, Mebane, but we wanted to have a quality experience. I emailed Bob Kennedy and asked him about the program. We kept in touch by email. After getting settled in Mebane, I contacted him again and set up an appointment. In December, we met with him and got our car ordered. The timing was based on our desire to go to Norway and Sweden (where we have many cousins and have visited before) and avoiding the real bad weather and the peak of tourist season). Through out the process, Bob has been just great. He makes buying a car fun! ( I would rather have major surgery than buy a new car from a dealership!) He is the perfect salesperson for overseas delivery. I hope that your service turns out to be as good as the sales process.

He then followed up with us the next day as he said he would and found us the perfect car at a great price. The closing process with the Finance Manager was seamless and enjoyable. Like a lot of people, I was really excited about the new Volvo XC90 and it was clear from the start that AJ and the others at University Volvo shared my excitement. I decided to order the T8 plug-in hybrid. As is common with a lot of new products in technology, there were inevitable delays in the delivery of my new vehicle. However, I was always kept up-to-date with the latest and never felt like I had been forgotten. Once she finally arrive, AJ took all the time I needed to explain every feature of the vehicle with me and I've never had a more painless experience in financing a new car than I had with Greg. They were even happy to look outside of Volvo financing to find the best fit for me. Would definitely recommend.

AJ was thorough, very responsive to questions and very helpful and informative on educating us on the new car! When I went through the shopping and selection part slightly over 1 1/2 years ago, it was amazing. As a woman, I had always dreaded shopping for a car. Car salesmen always tended to treat me...a female...as though I was ignorant and patronized me with laughing responses to my questions. That life long experience totally changed, and for the better when I went to University Volvo. As long as they are in business...that is the only place I will now shop for a car. The service department at University Volvo is so attentive and professional. They fixed my car and lent me a loaner for the few hours it took to finish. My car was washed and my wiper blades were changed. I didn't even know they were dragging! I had my 09 S80 serviced at this dealer and they bragged about how much better they were than Charlotte Volvo. I get my car back and the very next day my lower splash gaurd under the engine falls off. It is destroyed. Never had this happen with Charlotte Volvo working on my car. Let's see if university Volvo steps up and replaces it like they should. Will report back later

Life's events sometimes get in the way of finishing things less important. Such is the story of purchasing our new XC60. Despite coming close on two different vehicles over several months I was never able to commit. On the third go around AJ and Jeff patiently went to work once again, identified a vehicle and structured a very competitive deal. Apparently third time was a charm as the deal was finalized on a Friday with delivery the following Tuesday. Throughout the process AJ remained patient and professional. Over the same period I visited the dealership numerous times, seemingly always on AJ's day off - No problem as Jeff seamlessly took charge. When day of delivery finally came I was once again pressed for time. The University team professionally accommodated as AJ helped familiarize my wife with her new Volvo while Greg and I finalized the transaction paperwork. Here again no last minute sales antics, just efficiency and professionalism. Next year I hope to replace my X5 but unfortunately for BMW University Volvo is likely to be my first and last stop.

Not only was the regular service completed on time, the service representative helped me work through two other issues (bought my XC 90 from them in 1994 and love it every day) I was considering. She talked me out of both of my thoughts into two different solutions, saving me money and producing great results. These are stand-up folks; sacrificing money for themselves to help me maintain a 10 1/2 yr old favorite. University Volvo is no longer convenient for me, however, I will continue to drive across town to get there.

I've been looking for a nice used S80 for quite some time & had put in the word with the dealership closer to me (where I had purchased previously) to help me find one to no avail. After numerous online searches of dealerships in NC & VA, I found the car that seemed perfect for me at University. AJ Varrichione was top-notch in all of my online communications with him about the car...always very courteous, prompt & well spoken. We made the drive over to Charlotte not knowing for certain that we were going to make the purchase, but upon arrival the deal was shortly sealed. AJ was right on top of getting everything handled for me...even with our last minute decision to trade. Jeff Goodman was just as pleasant to deal with, handling the paperwork in the absence of the regular finance guy. Charlotte was quite a ways to drive (there & back) in one day, but everything was handled so seamlessly, we left very pleased with a great car & a very fair deal!

I recently purchased my second Volvo from University Volvo, and as always, it was a great experience. I recently relocated from Charlotte, NC to Jacksonville, FL for a job that requires a 1.5 hour commute, one way. After a month of driving my XC60 back and forth from Jacksonville to Daytona, I knew it was time to trade it in for something more fuel efficient. While Jacksonville has a Volvo dealership, I chose to buy from University Volvo based on my past experience. I found the car I wanted on the University Volvo website, contacted their sales department via email, and received a prompt reply from one of their sales associates, AJ Varrichione. If you can imagine, buying a new car over the phone can be a nerve-wracking experience... AJ was very helpful in answering all of my questions (I think I called him every day for a week) and working with my local credit union who was not too thrilled with me purchasing a car out of state. He is also the same sales person who sold me my previous car, the XC60, so I have built a relationship and level of trust with him over the years. When it came time to drive to North Carolina to pick up the car, the process was quick and easy, out the door in less than two hours. I would highly recommend University Volvo to anyone looking to purchase a new car. And more so, would recommend a Volvo to anyone that has never driven or owned one.

Felt good about my experiences during this scheduled maintenance visit. I had allowed my vehicle to lapse a bit on the services, so three services were combined into one as well as some additional repairs and cosmetic work. Overall, I feel there was a slight struggle among the staff to keep my appointment straight as each person I spoke with in preparation for this visit had a slightly different take on the situation but I feel everything came together well. I am satisfied with the results.

I had a problem with unlocking the car and the windows going down unexpectedly to me. University Volvo took time to try to reproduce the problem and contacted many levels of technical support. The problem was diagnosed as being in the key, not the car. The Service Manager, Tonya, talked to me personally to keep me up to date on the progress of the repair and demonstrated the unique properties on my car. The cost was exceptional for the amount of time and effort involved in understanding this problem.

I had no idea what make of car I wanted when I went to University Volvo. I knew I wanted to test drive the S60 so I stopped in on a Saturday afternoon. I was warmly welcomed by Bob Kennedy. He made me feel right at home at the dealership. He never once pressured me. It was still early in the process, so I went off to other dealerships and test drove several other cars. I had my choice narrowed down to 2. Still Bob never pressured me. He was always quick to answer my emails (my communication preference). When it came down to it, Bob just was a much easier and better person to work with than the representatives from the other dealerships.

AJ Varrichione at University Volvo was quick to respond and provide me the details that I needed to make my choice. He was willing to communicate by email (my preference) when others were telling me to call them. He and I had daily communication during the week that it took for me to make my decision. He would even email me during his non-work hours - just to keep the communication flowing and answer yet another question from me. Excellent service from drop off to pick up. Art kept me informed on all stages of repair and the cost. Because a part needed to be ordered, the car would not be ready when promised. This was the big 75.000 mile service , and several things showed up that needed repair and parts were not in stock. Rather than drive back to the dealership to find the car not ready, Art called early to say keep the loaner another day. I was then advised "we will call you when ready". He then said " I would like to make sure the repairs are done right and not rushed." I would say that is Excellent Customer Service. Thank you Arthur Mills. I bought a used Volvo from a third party and had allegiance to University Volvo prior. I used them shortly after purchasing the car 5 years ago and have since bought another Volvo as a result ofy experience with them. I use them exclusively for all my work. I previously owned a Honda and found that it was more expensive owning the Honda than either of my Volvo's. They are very reasonable to work with and take the extra steps to ensure I am satisfied.

The 65000 mile service was completed in only 10 minutes later than the estimated time. Extra services completed were: tires were rotated, brakes inspected, car was cleaned. While waiting, the manager made a personal effort to carry on a conversation with me.

University Volvo is a class act! This is the first time I have ever had a great experience when purchasing a vehicle. AJ Varrichione is very professional and has exceptional communication. I spent a lot of time communicating with AJ and he was quick to respond and very thorough with his answers. Greg Cole was also great to work with during the financing process. I am so glad that I found University Volvo. All of the Volvo dealerships in my area are so overpriced! University Volvo by far has the best prices I have seen on used Volvo's. AJ was great and always replied to my questions shortly after I would email him! I agreed on the price of the Volvo before I even went to see it and picked it up the first time I saw it in person. The Volvo was described accurately and I LOVE it! Greg in finance was also great to work with and not your typical finance guy. While he mentioned the extended warranty options he did not push them and I was appreciative of that! I would recommend University Volvo to anyone who is looking to buy a Volvo in the North Carolina/South Carolina area!

After being nickle and dimed about our trade-in to the point were we were about to walk out the door, our front tire goes flat the next day. After re-inflating it continues to lose air and we have to bring it to a garage due to being stranded. They showed us a defect in the tire where the side wall was bulging out the size of a golf ball. The garage mentioned that if we were on the highway we could have been killed as it would have been a total blowout. We then bring it to the Charlotte Volvo for repair and they send us a picture of another damage where someone had previously patched the tire. We then have the same sales manager for the next 2 months do the biggest finger pointing game we have ever seen. Calling and emailing that they are not responsible. Wow, 3 days after getting the car we had to have it towed and he is finger pointing. It shows what type of operation this is with no concern for our safety and the risk they put us in.

We test drove a Mazda 6 that looked great and had obviously been pristinely steam cleaned under the hood. Thank goodness a bulb was out on one of the front lights. We were offered a $50.00 credit towards our purchase to have this fixed on our own. We followed our instincts and had the car inspected by a professional shop just down the road and they found $2000 worth of issues that needed to be addressed. The "manager" of the dealership never showed the courtesy of meeting face to face with us, but did offer up this reassuring tidbit, "A leakage is different from a seepage." WHAT? No, that is a sales FAIL! Not to mention every bit of this should have been caught during the "detailed inspection" performed by their service department. Maybe it was and the management decided to just "shine it up" instead of fixing the issues or at least being honest and transparent about them. On a better note, the only reason this dealership even deserves 1 star is that the salesman was actually cordial and did talk to management on our behalf.

My wife and I have an older Volvo that we bought in another state. Recently, it was time to upgrade our second car so we started looking at Volvo's. At first, we emailed A.J. a few questions about a great lease deal we saw on the dealership website. He answered quickly, was friendly and never hassled or pressured us about coming in to buy. Later in the week, my wife and I went to the dealership to learn more about our options to get into a new car. Over the years, we have been to many dealerships and we were certainly dreading the usual pushy, insincere sales person that would tell us anything we wanted to hear just to make a sale. Our experience with A.J. and University Volvo was definitely not the usual experience. A.J. was professional, knowledgeable and friendly. He talked to us about the car and offered a test drive. After we drove a car, he was patient with us as we asked for different options, packages and color combinations and made several trips to look at different models. He never pressured us to buy or made us feel hurried to do anything. Once we decided to buy, Jeff helped us with the paperwork and financing. Jeff was also very friendly and made the paperwork process as fast and painless as it can be. Overall, it was a great experience. A.J. has followed up several times to make sure we like the car. He answered my questions about a car feature and even showed me how to use some of the stereo settings I was having trouble with. We will definitely be back for our next Volvo.

I have had two really bad experiences with my Volvo at University Volvo. Today, by far was the worst. I scheduled maintenance before my warranty was supposed to run out. The warranty was supposed to be 60,000 miles or 5 years, whichever is first. When I made the appointment, the dealership told me everything was fine and the service was covered. I made arrangements to go into work late and took my car in. When I arrived, I was not greeted politely, instead was asked if I thought this was going to be covered by the warranty. I said, yes, as I bought my car in July of 2009 and it was only June of 2014 and it had less than 60,000 miles on it. He proceeded to tell me that my time was up. No warranty so did I want to keep the appointment? He treated me as if I was only there for the warranty and did not care to help me otherwise. He just kept saying your time is up. If my warranty was over, it would have been nice to have known this before I went in for a three hour service. I ended up leaving without having my car serviced. I tried to call back to understand the warranty and the lady that I spoke to was just as rude and combative. It was a very unpleasant experience to say the least. It was so bad that I do not want to go back. Also, beware that if you purchase a pre-owned car that the warranty starts at original inception and not your purchase date. No one explained that.

I originally contacted University Volvo through their website on a Sunday night and by Monday at 10am I already had an email from AJ Varrichione. He was responsive, friendly and very willing to answer all of my questions. He was easy to work with and helped me get the car I wanted at a price I was comfortable with. I was able to complete the credit application and received approval before even walking into the dealership. When I arrived the car was ready and waiting for me. Greg Cole had all of the financial documents ready for my review and signature. I was out of there within 2 hours. Car shopping can be a very stressful experience and University Volvo made it easy and enjoyable. I would highly recommend contacting University Volvo before any of the competing dealers in the area.

I always consider the alternatives but after trying (hard !) I came back and bought the second Volvo from AJ. It was a pleasure working with him, he's always responsive and without the usual tricks that the car salesmen are known for. I have been a huge fan of Internet based vehicle purchases over the past ten or so years. I hate the wasted time spent in a dealership when I know what I want. AJ Varrichione is the type of salesman (Internet or otherwise) that makes for a smooth and painless buying experience. There were none of the multiple trips back and forth to see the manager, the test ride was without pressure or stipulations, and for possibly the first time in my memory the salesman was transparent as well as honest. Greg Cole made sure that every single penny that we were going to spend or could possibly spend was laid out and explained. There was none of the hard sell for additional items that we "had to have" just to milk us for more money. Greg was able to beat our finance rate through USAA by 2%, but when we told him that we would still stay with the USAA rate due to convenience he stated that he understood and he did not press the idea.I have visited multiple Volvo dealerships in North Carolina, but after one three plus hour trip from Fayetteville I do not regret it one bit. University Volvo has earned my business. I can safely say that I would break my "Internet purchase only" rule when it comes time to but another Volvo.

We brought our Volvo S40 in for service and my wife decided to look at a few cars while she was there. We were actually planning on buying a Honda, but quickly noticed that we could get more for our money out of a Volvo. We found the perfect S60 for us (great car at a great price). AJ was extremely helpful and not pushy at all. Overall, the car buying experience there was excellent, the most professional and personalized service I have ever recieved when buying a car. I would recommend University Volvo to a friend in a heartbeat and would have a hard time buying from another dealership after the service we recieved. As a more mature customer if you had told me 10 years ago that I would be purchasing a brand new Volvo sight unseen and complete a transaction with dealership that I have had an opportunity to visit, I simply would not have believed it to be possible.But the folks at University Volvo in Charlotte, NC, especially AJ Varrichione went above and beyond to secure the vehicle I was looking for at the price I wanted to pay. AJ searched the dealer network and secured my new S80 with the color and specific packages I requested.The transaction transpired over approximately two weeks from initial contact to delivery of my vehicle, AJ consistently was in contact with me and kept me in the loop as to the progress of the deal. I drove from Wake Forest, NC to Charlotte to purchase my vehicle, because of the positive attitude displayed by AJ Varrichione. Purchased a used 2012 Toyota HIghlander; Found car through online searches and contacted the dealership via email. Received immediate reply from AJ with additional information. After 2 days, about 20 emails and a few phone conversations, we felt comfortable going up to drive the car with an intent to trade in our car. Everything we discussed in emails/phone was exactly what was done - trade in value was the same, car was in great shape, and the financing discussed was the same. No switches. We bought the car after a short testdrive, and took car of paperwork and everything in under an hour. They were very understanding while my wife and 2 young kids hung around and we kept them after business hours on a Friday. Both AJ were personable, honest and I enjoyed working with them. If we get around to buying a volvo someday will definitely go there first, but also worth it to check out the place for their used cars!

My overall experience was so positive at University Volvo in Charlotte. AJ responded to my online inquiry immediately about the S60, and I was very happy with the price he quoted me. He was very knowledgeable and just likeable. That's important to me. Greg was terrific too; in my past experience, it has usually been stressful with the finance manager but his "light" personality kept things easy for me and I actually liked talking to him and completing the financing at the same time. I have been looking at the S60 at a New York dealership where I live and they really didn't want my business - the price was too high and there was no followup with me in the weeks after. Visiting Charlotte I took a chance and inquired about the car and was thrilled that they wanted my business and did what it took to get it. Everyone was very helpful and friendly at University Volvo; I appreciated that. This is the 4th Volvo I have bought; this dealership was the best for sure. Thank you.

Took our 2005 Volvo S60 to replace the ECM due to Check Engine Light being on. Instead they thought the problem was a fuel sensor module. Not that! Second they said it was the coolant fan, replaced that. Not that either. Then they were sure it was the wiring harness. Guess again, not that either. Then they said it must be the ECM. But guess what? They didn't order one because they thought we would trade it in on a new one because, buy this time the bill had reached $3,500.00.Guess what? even though my wife had driven Volvo's for 30 years, it will be a cold day in xxxx before we buy another one! By the way an independent Volvo Mechanic had checked it out first and said it was the ECM, but he didn't have one of those computers to varify that,and didn't want to ripp us off buy buying one and that not being the problem. Evidently University Volvo has one that must have been made in China! Ca-ching, Ca-Ching, one more sucker! Well after nearly six weeks we finally get our car back, and guess what, It wasn't the ECM either.How they went back to the stoey about it being a "chafe" in the wiring system, but could not show me where or tell me where it was. During our meeting with the Service Mgr., she told us "if she knew the repair was going to be so much trouble, she would have sent it back out the door". Not much confidence in the service dept,. But that ain't all, she then told my wife "not to bring her back for any service, not even an oil change". Oh yea! during the meeting we were told that they changed out the fuel pump. News to us. Then we were told that they took off all the parts off that they had put on, but when we ask for the fan motor back that we had already paid for she told us that that had put it back on. Obviously there is a problem with communication, among other things, within the dealership. Basicly we don't know what was wrong with the car. I've have my own thoughts on how they made the check engine light go off. Clip Clip!!

I want to thank University Volvo for a great car buying experience, especially employees AJ Varrichione and Greg Cole. I sent an email request on Sunday night telling UV what I was looking for in a new car and AJ called me first thing Monday morning. I had an out the door competitive price over the phone within twenty minutes that also included taking our 2005 S40 in trade. From there everything went smooth and we drove away in our new S60 later that afternoon.

Great experience hands down. From the small things like calling my insurance to make the policy change to making sure I was aware of everything the car can do, Bob had me covered. Never felt too pressured to buy the car and could tell the people stood by their product. They didn't seem to want to negotiate much on price, but 1. that's their job, and 2. they believe that the vehicle is worth what you pay for it. Overall it was a great experience.

AJ was extremely responsive and helpful in finding the XC90 Volvo that I wanted to purchase. He even responded promptly through a holiday weekend while the dealership was closed. This was by far the best car buying experience I have had, they made it stress free, low pressure, and quick. I was able to go into the dealership on my own with both of my young children and sign the papers quickly and painlessly (anyone who has a 3 yr old and 9 month old understands how big this is) after working with AJ over the phone and email. We also talked to Hunter Volvo in Asheville and the Volvo dealerships in both Hickory and Greenville SC, and they could not come close to the deal that we got at University Volvo. I stopped in on a whim, to check out the new S60. Bob let me take one out on a Monday over the lunch hour, and I came back on Wednesday to show my wife. We made the deal on Wed. night and I drove home Thursday after work. The team at University Volvo went to bat for me on my trade, and did most of their work while I was able to be at work. No day long event of going back and forth wasting a day at the dealership. I will be back.

AJ found us the Volvo we wanted, answered all of our questions quickly and professionally and negotiated a fair price. He earned our business with his initial email to our inquiry. He didn't send out a generic email instead communicating just as one would in person. We bypassed our local dealership, traveling over an hour to purchase our vehicle from University Volvo. As a busy working wife and mother, I don't have the time or energy for the typical sales games and number juggling and one would think that purchasing from our local dealership would have been easier. However, as previously stated, AJ truly earned our business for this purchase and any future ones. In my opinion, you can't go wrong with University Volvo!

My wife and I recently shopped the Volvo XC90 at both Charlotte area Volvo dealerships. While University Volvo did not have the exact car that we were looking for, AJ Varrichione and Jeff Goodman worked tirelessly to meet our needs. Over the course of two days they put five different scenarios in front of us that included thoughtful alternatives by which they could find us the car we wanted or something comparable at a very competitive price. Unfortunately, due to timing, we could not wait to see one of these scenarios through. However, based on my experience at both dealerships I would rank University Volvo #1 in customer service, quality/thoughtfulness of work, friendliness, price and overall experience. If they have the car you are looking for you will receive a superior deal and best-in-class service along the way. If they don't have the specifications you are looking for they will work tirelessly to go find it. As I told AJ and Jeff, if they had the exact car I was looking for on the lot I would have been willing to pay more at University Volvo, just to do the deal with them.

Came to test drive a used xc60 and ended up buying it. The car sold itself, but the service helped make me comfortable closing the deal the same day. They were able to closely match a pre-approved loan I already had. Everyone was helpful and answered all my questions.

My wife & I both traded in our current Volvos for new 2012 models with the polestar software upgrade {XC60T6/R-design; C70 convertible with inscription package}. We received a welcome loyalty discount for the new cars as well as excellent trade in allowances on our older cars. As with our previous purchases with University Volvo, AJ & Greg were very helpful, with all of the transactions being handled on-line, with the obvious exceptions of the financing application & final closing. We would recommend University Volvo to all of our family & friends.

This was by far the best car buying experience I've had. I live out of town and negotiated the entire purchase online prior to going to the dealership. I must admit that I was a little skeptical at first, and concerned that I would drive there and the terms would change but everything worked out just as discussed. AJ was responsive over email and they even gave me an offer on the car I was trading in sight unseen. They were respectful of what I was looking for and didn't try to up-sell me like many other dealers I had contacted online. As I was coming in from out of town just to purchase the car, and wanted a streamlined process, AJ and Greg had everything set up and ready to go in advance. I was in an out in less than two hours.

My husband and I recently bought a car from them and the whole process overall was very easy and comfortable. It was VERY low pressure and the whole sale went very smoothly and quickly. We looked at a couple other dealerships and a couple different cars but came back to them. Not only did they sell us on the Volvo company and the car itself but they sold us with University Volvo as an easy place to interact with. I feel very comfortable bringing the car back for regular maintenance and if I have any problems. We mainly worked with Bob but our interaction with the other staff was positive as well. We would definitely recommend Bob to work with and purchasing from University Volvo.

Horrible customer service! This dealership charged me over $200 to replace a tire pressure montitoring sensor. Within 2 hours, the same message appeared again. When I returned, I was told the remaining 3 sensors needed to be replaced at a cost of $528! After several phone calls and emails; and the dealership being unable to show that the sensors were faulty; I took my car to another Volvo dealership. They reprogrammed the sensors at a charge of $98! Haven't had a problem since. Throughout this 'mess,' some of my phone calls and emails went unreturned. The service manager hung up the telephone on my husband and they have never admitted any wrongdoing. Very sad that they treat customers this way.

Cant say enough about the great people at University Volvo or about Volvo in general.As the saying goes Volvo for life!! We had some problems with our 2011 C 70 that were real hard to identify and fix. After several attempts to find a solution University Volvo and the Volvo Corp. stepped up to the plate and gave us a more than reasonable offer on a replacement vehicle. We do not view the problems we had as a reflection on the quality of Volvo but rather just a one in a million problem with no quick solution. This was our second Volvo and certainly will not be our last.I highly recommend Volvo as a company that makes wonderful cars and University Volvo in Charlotte . A.J. was great from inital call thru close of the deal. Price was best out of 3 states on top of finding me the only 2013 xc90 r design i wanted on the east coast. I would recommend buying a car from University Volvo without hesitation.

My wife and I just purchased a new Volvo XC60 from University Volvo. Starting with the phone calls, and continuing through with the visit in-person, test drive, sale, financing, etc., the overall experience was terrific. We had the pleasure of working with Stephen Bacon, who was friendly, knowledgeable, respectful of our time but did not rush us, excellent in every respect. Price was great as well, they were happy to match and even beat the excellent pricing we had found on-line through various sources. I recommend this dealership very highly, and would not hesitate to purchase from them again.

Working with AJ and everyone at University Volvo was a real treat. AJ was very patient (I changed my mind many times!), and in the end I think we ended up with the best car for us, at a good price. We never got the run-around, and none of the usual games. I would buy from them again!

This dealership is WONDERFUL! My husband and I had the best experience buying our new Volvo xc90 here. Everyone we worked with was kind, knowledgeable, and treated us like family, not customers. Bob guided us through the whole process and took time to really get to know us. The process was easy and transparent. We never felt rushed to buy immediately or settle for a car we didn't like. They told us the pros and cons of each car we looked at and even called around to find us the best interest rate. We will recommend University Volvo to all of our friends and family. They appear to pride themselves on putting the customer first and made us very comfortable. They were very understanding of our newborn son and gave us ample time to feed him and take care of his needs while at their dealership. We never felt rushed to sign a paper and leave. This was honestly the best dealership we have ever worked with. They make buying a car exciting, not stressful. If you are looking for a Volvo, check them out. My experience with University Volvo was exceptional. Stephen Bacon went over and beyond to ensure that I got the exact car that I was looking for. Stephen was able to find the color combination I wanted when other Volvo dealerships said they could not find it. He was very prompt and responsive to all my questions and requests. I believe University Volvo is one of the best dealerships anywhere. Their staff is very friendly yet professional in every way. I have bought two Volvos from them and all the service work and follow up has been great. Bob Jackson in sales is especially helpful, knowledgable and courteous. He has made us feel like family and we know his desire is to find you the "right car". I also like the fact that this dealership is a little out of the way...I don't like those areas where it is one dealership after another, for miles. Our experience with University Volvo and our sales person, Stephen Bacon, was fabulous and superior to any car buying experience we've ever had. This is our first Volvo and the quality and features of this vehicle far exceeded our expectations as well as the customer service Volvo provides to their customers. Stephen Bacon went above and beyond to make our experience as smooth as possible. It was actually enjoyable to buy this car, for the first time in my life I can say this! He really went above and beyond his duties for us. Specifically, when we found out our vehicle had a front license plate, as it was transferred from Atlanta, he personally took care of the details to make sure this was removed, plugged, and painted for us. It would not have been a deal breaker, as he knew, but he knew it was an important detail and wanted our car to be absolutely perfect for us. His attentiveness to detail, honesty, and knowledge was exactly what we needed and why we went with University Volvo as opposed to others in the area. We hope he is with Volvo a long time so he can help us with future Volvo purchases. He has made us very happy customers and shall we say, Volvo customers for life! Thank you!!!!

New car buying is never fun, but Bob Jackson went over an above to help us find a car that fit our families needs. We test drove an XC60 and XC90. Bob knows these cars inside and out. He did not put a hard sell on, and did continue to call and harass us for our business. I would recommend this dealership and would go back in a minute to buy a Volvo from Bob.

I don't know if I have given a perfect score to anyone, much less a dealership, in a long time. I will have to say I had a really good experience with University Volvo. They had the vehicle I wanted, worked with me on getting a used vehicle in the condition for the price, and didn't play any of the mickey mouse games you sometimes encounter at car dealerships. Good experience with the sales department.BTW, this is my first experience with Volvo and really impressed with the quality of the brand. The Volvo was for my wife, I am a Toyota truck guy, I actually contimplated trading in my vehicle, which I love, after seeing the quality that Volvo is putting in there cars.

We have tried having our cars serviced at the dealership in Augusta, Ga. and Columbia, SC; neither can come close to the service we recieve at University. We drive 2 and a half hours one way to get our service done at University Volvo. John Paul was friendly, told us what to expect, and called us to let us know what was going to be done. He did a great job. We have purchased 4 Volvos from this dealership and recommended it to a friend and they bought a vehicle there, also. I have never dealt with Volvo and with the information that I had received from my brother, quite frankly I really didn't think it would have been an experience that I would have enjoyed. My mother was wanting to suprise my brother by paying for his repairs for his Volvo. We went to the dealership and met TJ. Explained the situation to her and she went far and above the call of customer service in assisting my mother. Again we do not drive Volvo's and it made the experience very memerable and impressionable. TJ Thanks for everything. You represent your company very well and truly impressed me. Normally car buying is not a really fun experience. I loved the fact that AJ worked with us via email. Most dealers want to communicate via phone or in person. No one today has the time for that! He came in with the best price, was nearby location and when our car was delayed at the port he arranged a loaner for us. Overall very happy with the experience and will recommend them to our friends. Not to mention if the service department does us well our next car for sure will be another volvo! Just a side note I can not tell you how many woman are buying cars and are being treated differently from men...didn't feel this way at all at this dealer! Kudos i'm tough and don't give praise easily!

He is knowledgeable, friendly and understood exactly what I was looking for. He had been recommended to me but still exceeded my expectations. This was our second purchase from University Volvo. In both cases, we were so pleased with the warmth, friendliness and "eager to please" attitude of these guys. There was NO pressure, only a willingness to work with us to close the deal. These guys continue the warmth and friendliness after the sale, as well. We would highly recommend them!

The owner-Steve-even made a point to meet and greet us after we had made the purchase. AJ is one of the nicest, most professional salesperson I have worked with in my life. I researched the verhicle I was interested in purchasing online prior to contacting the dealership. AJ was very responsive to my email questions and provided timely answers with detailed information that satisfied all inquiries I had. The only complaint I would vocalize with the experience is a 720 beacon score did not qualify for the 1.99% financing deal when I was assured it would through my correspondence with AJ.

My expereince at University Volvo and with AJ Varrichione was nothing short of spectacular. My wife and I were looking for a convertible and inquired with University through the internet as to their current stock of C70's. AJ worked with us to narrow down some choices as far as options, color and packages were concerned. We test drove the C70 and were hooked. We pulled th trigger that day and AJ and his mananger worked late in the evening to find us the very lowest rate possible for financing. We were in our new red convertible the very next day. We got a great car,a great price and a very low intereast rate. AJ has since followed up to make sure we were enjoying the vehicle and to see if we had any additional questions or concerns. In all it was a great expereince. No pressure, just great effort on AJ's part to insure he was meeting our needs. University Volvo has proven they are best in class. I have dealt with University Volvo for over 20 years and have never had one complaint of the service they have given me. They are service professionals and always provide the appropriate service in a timely manner. Tonya, the service manager is my go-to person and she and the entire staff go above and beyond to help me. As a single woman I appreciate that more than they know. I will never drive any other car but a Volvo and will never buy from or have mine serviced anywhere but University Volvo.
