My experience with Ventura Volkswagen has been very stressful. After having my new car for over a month , I am still having issues with them even after numerous contacts with customer care at Volkswagen of America who is also actively trying to resolve my issues. With no contact or explanation , Ventura Volkswagen has failed to provide pay off for my trade in resulting in that account going over 30 days delinquent and they have no record of the new purchase I have been driving over a month now. You can imagine the stress and disappointment I am having with my reputation and possible credit score taking a negative hit and having to explain myself to the finance company what is happening. Two things concern me at this point. First is that they can have such a negative impact on so many aspects of your life without consequence , and second , that they seem to have no concern what so ever about how these issues affect people.If you read reviews to make an educated decision about purchasing or leasing a new Volkswagen , I would urge you to read and consider all of the reviews on dealers in driving distance. Going an hour out of your way just might be a good choice specially after you take delivery of a new car.

Im a 30yr old young professional and I have high expectations when it comes to customer service. What drew me to Ventura VW was a 05 E-Class. When I arrived, Joe Salazar introduced himself and asked what I was looking for. I explained to Joe that I was only interested in the E class or a BMW. He did not try and steer me away from what I wanted. Joe made me feel at home as well as the rest of the staff. I test drove the car and loved it! When I was looking to pick up a 2015 GTI the folks at Ventura VW quickly set themselves above the other dealers in the Ventura/Los Angeles county areas from the get-go. I emailed Jim the Internet manager to get some lease quotes and schedule a test drive. I needed to test drive over my work lunch break so I had just a one hour window to work with. I arrived and met Jim who was busy finishing up a sale with another client, but put me in the hands of Victor who was easily the most laid back and straightforward car salesman I have ever encountered. Victor knew the ins and outs of the car very well and was a fun person to test drive with. When we got back to the lot Jim and Victor provided me lease quotes with the exact parameters I had requested in my initial email. Two days later I was back to purchase as they were able to match the lowest price of any dealer in the Ventura/Los Angeles County area while also delivering customer service that went above and beyond the call of duty. I would definitely recommend anyone shopping for a VW to speak with these gentlemen as they will take care of you and make you feel at ease with your purchase.

Victor the salesman made the car buying experience easy and simple. He had a no pressure approach to the sale and we agreed on a price within five minutes. Brought my car in to have the breaks repaired- I ended up leaving in a new Jetta that I was in love with. Customer service in the sales dept is amazing and they were very efficient. I was in and out with in 2 hours which is a little unheard of at a dealership. Joe was great... The only issue I had was after I left the dealership took and my car home I was sent numerous letters asking me to pay more money for my down, I ended up settling this with the manager and all was well.

I'm not sure there is enough space for all my comments, but I'll try to cut to the chase. Victor was exceptional. I reached out to your dealership late on July 4th to help my sister lease a Jetta. Victor seemed like a straight shooter and was immediately available by phone and email. I had put on calls/emails with 4 VW dealerships in about an hour. Victor was on it! He assured me that his dealership would get a deal done. In less than 24 hours, my sister was given a fair value for her trade in and left with the car and color she wanted. This is her very first new car, and you probably have a VW fan for life. Thank you for the professionalism, honesty and painless experience. After my family helped me do some research in looking into leasing a Volkswagon Jetta, I came into the Ventura dealership during a tent sale. Without getting my hopes up too high that I would be leaving the lot with a new car, I test drove one I really liked. I couldn't believe how helpful the salesman (Victor Medina) was in giving me different pricing options and ultimately getting me in the car I wanted for the price I could afford. I felt I was treated fairly and with the upmost honesty. Contrary to many of the stories you hear about dealership experiences, I left very happy.

Recently went there for a new vehicle. The whole thing (including some test drives, decision discussion time, and paperwork) took just a couple hours. The atmosphere was not intimidating and we ended up dealing with Darren, who was great. He let the test drives and features of the cars speak for themselves, so I really appreciated that he was explaining what the cars offer, rather than pushing us to get something and get out of there. Overall, I would highly recommend this dealership and Darren (though I'm sure others in the sales staff are great as well) to friends or family

My wife and I came to Ventura Volkswagen with the intent to purchase a VW GTI. Jim Perez assisted us with complete knowledge of all the Golf models and spent time letting us test drive the ones we asked to drive. He covered all the features of each and expertly compared the different models which allowed us to easily make the decision on what we wanted to buy which was the GTI that we came for. We sat down to negotiate terms and did not feel pressured or the need to go elsewhere. We worked out a very low interest rate and a reasonable monthly payment. They only thing I would recommend for others' is to know more about your Auto FICO score prior to negotiation which will make things even more smooth in working out a mutual deal.When we got to the finance portion Sean Holguin was our associate and he was quick but informative and wrapped up the deal with good conversation which made us feel good about the purchase since it was more than we initially planned on a new car (not because it was overpriced but newer than we were originally looking for)and because it was getting later in the evening. He was very comfortable to work with and just as friendly as Jim!

Would not recommend this dealership not because of the sales person but because of the finance department. Had the pleasure of working with Shawn Holgwin and hope no one ever has to go through the hassle that I did. This man either has no respect for a man in the military or a youth in societies being 26 years old. Was pressured into buying a car. Nonetheless bought gap insurance and extended warranty insurance on a new 2014 VW Jetta TDI and within three days went back to take it off and Shawn told me verbatim that both parties had to agree to a change in the policy and he was not going to do it for both insurances. After speaking directly to both insurance companies and being told otherwise I spent three months going back and forth with these companies without little to no help with VW dealership to get reimbursed. Don't expect to get thru to anyone during the working hours on the phone. You literally have to walk into this dealership to get anything done. That was only the finance side of the car. The car itself had diesel tank installed upside down, there was glue still on the car from the paper and was told that was the best they could do and the handle for the hood of the car was bent. The only upside of this dealership is a receptionist named Analesha. This dealership needs to take pointers from this young women otherwise I don't see too bright of a future for this dealership especially it's employees.

Brought my jetta TDI in for oil change and diagnostics. Customer service was great! However the cost for labor is astonishing, just to estimate what's wrong with your vehicle, they will charge a ungodly amount. I would not recommend going to Ventura Volkswagen for vehicle maintenance.

I never got a call back so I drove down to the dealership and spoke to the sales manager and he promised me he would call me with a answer the net morning. Still no call. I again had to drive back down to the dealership to get the answer to my question. I wish I never got a car from those idiots.

My first experience found myself not caring for the female service advisor who was slightly abrasive in her attitude, insisting it was my responsibility for cost to repair. I had to prove I had an extended warranty. It should be in the computer at any dealer. I expect better treatment than this dealer can offer. Second experience required my Jetta TDI to be serviced and of course I get the abrasive attitude, it will cost you $890.00. What? So I left, called Capistrano VW that has serviced my vehicle in the past and there price???? $547.00 and a free rental. I'm staying as far away as I can from Ventura VW.

I spoke with Gary at the service department and I am very sad to say that I now regret buying a Volkswagen and am very happy that I didn't buy it from this dealer. They do not stand behind their vehicles at all unless you buy it from that lot. They will not offer to help you out in anyway, so if you bought a Volkswagen from any other dealer or location they will not help you out at all. I am very disappointed in this as my tires are woren and there are only 22,000 miles on my tires. If this is what I can expect from a Volkswagen dealer then I will make sure that no one buys a car from this location or goes there for any type of service. Gary could have at least offered a 5% discount on the tires and would have had a happy customer but instead he was very unhelpful.

We were out looking to lease a new car during the Labor Day weekend sale, and after negotiations and weighing pros and cons, actually ended up buying the car at a reasonable price (Jetta S, basic model, with 32 miles). We were a liitle apprehensive since we have never owned a Jetta before and were initally looking at Toyota, but big thanks to Louie Guevara who made sure all our concerns were met and was very helpful in making the process go smoothly. Dealing with Barber VW of Ventura was the most dredful experience we have ever had in the purchase of a new car. The paperwork was mixed up with someone else and we received a nasty letter directing us to return the new 2014 VW we purchased. Calls to the dealership were not always return, it was necessary that we go direct to VW for some answeres. VW assighed a reginal inverstigator to our problem. Only then did we get the issure resolved. The other issues were the same one hears alot of. Once the deal was made the salesman was no where to be found, the person who was suppose to explain the care features did not know half of how things worked. Personally I will never deal with this dealership again, nor recomend anyone else to go there.

The sales rep and finance department made me feel comfortable and welcome. I felt supported with the purchase of my vehicle. The staff was friendly and outgoing. I was made to feel like part of the VW Family!

Very pleased with my experience at Barber Volkswagen. The transaction was easy, quick and hassle free. If I decide to buy another Volkswagen again in the future, I would not hesitate in returning to Barber or my Salesperson, Ryan. Ryan was very helpful, easy to talk to and answered all my questions.
