For as long as I can remember buying a new car was always an experience I placed in the same category as going to the Dentist. I could always feel myself not breathing. When would the shot come? The pain? The bad news of cavities.. I'm sure you get what I saying. Well, I'm happy to say that all changed in December of 2015 when we had a fantastic experience and joined the VW family. Fast forward to October of 2016 and back again without thinking twice.It's a crazy weather day for Salem. And we are car shopping again. My sons lease was about to expire and he decided after seeing how much I loved my Jetta to explore VW for himself. Like I said, crazy weather.. Batman sky, wind, rain, just nasty. As we entered the entrance to the sales area we were greeted by the salesman that would be our guide on another fabulous journey at VW. Jose Robinson was his name and much like Nancy Drew he immediately began to ask questions, fact finding, he would solve the mystery and figure out what my son needed! So, the search began. It was crazy fun, running around the lot in the rain. Jose wanted to make sure he found the car my son was looking for and wind nor rain would stop him!Once my son found what he was looking for we sat down and began the finance process. Jose was honest with us every step of the way. My son is a college student in the Pharmacy program at OSU. He needed a payment that would work in his budget and Jesse, the amazing numbers man made it happen!So, yes my son is so happy with his 2017 VW Golf. Jose made sure he was comfortable with all of the features and answered all questions. In talking with Jose about my Jetta he gave me some information about the leasing process that I was unaware about. The last year had brought some unfortunate life circumstances. As I shared my story with Jose I could tell he really cared. He said that he would do some research and get back to me. Jose wasn't blowing smoke about helping me! He called me the next morning and had some options to discuss. I couldn't believe it!! Long story short, I've ended up with a new 2017 Passat and a lower payment on top of it!!In conclusion,I can't say enough about these guys!! They are genuine and they say you'll always remember your first, but the second experience with Jose & Jesse was definitely the best!!!!Thanks guys!!

Because I was also informed when I came in for the oil changed I also needed some belts replaced. I was leaving town the next day so I was very nice to know that they also noticed that as well. I need to clarify my rating is for the sales process not the service department. I could not give them higher ratings. They have always been effective and helpful. I traded my 2012 Passat in for a new 2016 Passat. I got a very low trade in value due to the air bag recall which could not be fixed at the time. This lowered my trade in value by at least $3000 I travel thousands of miles a month and could not wait for the repairs so I accepted the trade in. I feel this should be covered by Volkswagen and in the past when they were at fault they compensated me for any factory issues. I was told my car had a low value due to the fact it could not be resold until the repairs were done. Why is this my fault? I think with Volkswagen's current legal issues over their diesel problems and the airbag recall that could not be resolved at the time of the recall they have pushed their problems off on their loyal customers. I have owned over 20 Volkswagens but, I feel this will be my last. I contacted VW directly and for the first time never received a call back or response to my emails. I have purchased fleet vehicles for my company at times and will no longer include VW for consideration.

Overall good experience will buying process. Still waiting for a call on when the issues that fall on my warranty will be fixed (Missing or faulty tire pressure sensor, AC is not functioning correctly - blowing hot air, and back hatch will only open on occasion when button is pushed.) I talked to Omar (my sales rep) and he was going to reach out to service department and get me scheduled in. Waiting to hear back, I am confident that all problems will be rectified.

I just paid over $3000.00 in repairs to my VW Jetta. The cost that was charged to simply replace an air filter was $45.95. I could have done that myself for nothing. The repairs included a full service and oil change, fluid checks etc. When I got home, I checked over the car to see how things looked in the engine compartment. I found right away that the washer fluid reservoir was dry as a bone. My paperwork from the service dept. showed that it had been checked and with no leaks. How is that. This leads me to believe, what else did I get charged for that really wasn't completed. I do not trust auto mechanics anyways. This just makes me not trust them even more. What a rip off. I went in there in good faith willing to pay for the repairs and this is what I get.

After hunting for a very specific vehicle (Saturn Outlook FWD SUV) for months, one popped up at this dealership with every feature we were seeking. We had a packed weekend, preparing for a long out if state trip, planning a memorial service for a recently lost parent, and a work weekend to help out a friend clean up a house. Despite all of this, the vehicle was so perfect, we chose to fit it in our schedule. To ensure we were not wasting our time driving over an hour each way to this location, an appointment was scheduled through their online service. As an extra precaution, we called before leaving to confirm the vehicle was still available and we had a test drive on their calendar. The sales person assured us all was as we understood. Upon arrival 1.5 Hours later (Beavers game day clogged up I5 terribly), we arrived and was handed off to three different sales people before being told that we should not use the Internet/chat scheduling service because it was unreliable and that the vehicle we sought had been wholesaled. SAY WHAT? Then of course they wanted us to look at a new VW "equivallent" and downplayed the vehicle we've already researched and decided is the best feature and financial fit for our family. Basically, my husband and I lost a half of a day during an already stressful and packed weekend despite double checking TWICE so I wouldn't waste my time. And we're still looking for our next vehicle. Needless to say, I'm not a fan of this dealership and it's internal communication and organization.They were nice enough, the facilities were quite upscale and being a holiday weekend, there were plenty of sales guys talking smack about their wives and sports while loitering in the parking lot waiting to pounce on the next arrival.They did offer to fill my gas tank for our trouble, but as I was already full, it was a mute point to an already very irritating situation.Please, please, please talk to your team about providing accurate information to those who call to inquire. Inaccurate information messes with people's lives, wastes their time and does nothing to encourage warm fuzzies toward your dealership for a future inquiry or eventual purchase.

In this troubling time for Volkswagen TDI owners, it's refreshing having the peace of mind that Greg and Matt have provided. This time all we needed was a simple battery replacement, but Greg made sure I was updated on all of the needed services for both of my VW's, and quickly blocked out the time to get the 2013's oil changed in the same time as it took to get the battery changed. Cars in Central Oregon tend to be more expensive and they are not very competitive. The same car was $1500 more in my town. I started researching where I could get the exact same car (2016 VW Golf Sportwagen SE) and Salem VWs listed price was a lot less expensive. Anthony was knowledgeable and did a lot of the work for me. Most of the transaction was over the phone, email and text. Thank you for your help! I love my new car and just yesterday got 42.6 mpg on the way to work.

While researching on-line I found Volkswagen of Salem had several trucks I was interested in as well as great customer reviews. So my wife and I made the 60 mile trip from Vancouver WA. I found several very nice trucks on their lot to choose from at a fair price. I selected a Ram 3500 to purchase. My wife also found a Ford Edge she was interested. We decided to purchase both. The negotiation was low pressure and we were treated with great respect the entire time. They also agreed to some additional maintenance and repairs to the vehicles. We were given good values for our trade in vehicles.We did not realize prior to the purchase the touch screen on the Ford Edge was not working properly. When this was brought to the attention of the General Manager he worked with us to get a new unit installed in the vehicle. Thank You J.J.It was great to work with sales representatives Richard Ledgerwood and Joseph Homkow, Finiance Manger Ryan Rush, Internal Service Adviser Matt Reid and the General Manager J.J Hunsaker. They were all very courteous and very helpful. In particular Matt Reid and J.J. Hunsaker went out of their way to provide exceptional service. I highly recommend Volkswagen of Salem. I had my 30,000 mile service completed at Volkswagen of Salem. The car was returned clean and vacuumed. The service people were helpful and friendly. We had the tires rotated, and one wheel needed to be re-torqued after we left the dealership. I was able to have this done promptly when I returned minutes later after the service appointment.

I had been shopping for a used Audi Q5. I went to a couple of Portland Area dealers and drove a few. I found one I liked and tried to buy one up there and couldn't reach a deal. When I wanted to purchase a Golf R in the hard-to-find Lapiz Blue, dealers in Portland were asking for 5000, 6000, or even $10,000 over MSRP. I had just about given up when I decided to call VW of Salem after seeing they had an incoming car that matched my specs. Over the phone and email, I worked with Joseph Homkow to negotiate a final price with no mark-up. Delivery for the car was expected about 2 weeks out, but it arrived 5 days ahead of schedule. Joseph and the finance guy stayed late for me to drive down from Portland after work, and delivered my new "baby". It is truly a wonderful car, from a wonderful dealership.

Thanks to Jim, the process of buying a new car was straight-forward, pleasant and free from stress. Jim's honest, easy, no pressure manner made the experience positive. We appreciate their willingness to open up shop early for us to complete the transaction so that my husband could purchase the car and be back to work at a reasonable time. They were not our closest VW dealership, but we felt it was worth travelingl the extra distance to work with VW of Salem.

I could not be more thrilled with my experience at Volkswagen of Salem. I work in Portland and live in the valley and so I had spent the morning looking at VW's in Portland and left the dealership there more than upset from the way the handled the entire experience.As I drove home I decided to stop at VW of Salem to see what they had in stock. I was very happy to see that the car I was looking for was on hand. In a brief meeting, lasting no more than 10 minutes, I explained to Curtis Goodwin, my experience in Portland earlier in the day, the deal and financing I was looking to make. Curtis assured me that the Team at VW of Salem not only wants to make a deal that makes financial sense but also balances the human element of business. I went home and within 15 minutes of arriving home, Curtis called to inform me that not only could they make the deal they would beat it on both the net price and the financing. Curtis continued to update me via text as he and the team worked on even bettering the initial deal that he appraised me of. The very next morning, I met Curtis and after test driving the vehicle I was quickly on my way home, thrilled not only with my new car but at the level of professionalism and respect that the entire staff at Volkswagen of Salem displayed. Curtis and the Team went above and beyond and they have my current and any future VW business.

Recently in for service and liked that they got the work done quickly, cleaned my car, and communicated with me clearly. When they found my tires were in bad shape they were able to replace them on the spot for same price as a tire shop and it really did not take much more time at all. The staff are just nice, mellow and friendly- really nice to deal with.

The service I get from the VW dealership in Salem is always awesome! They fixed a faulty replaced oil plug from my previous service in Eugene and completed my 40,000 mile service that Eugene failed to do. Greg is always courteous and accommodating to my schedule and I was in and out faster than I expected. The waiting area in the new building location is pleasant. Its easy to wait for an hour with great coffee and good wifi.I'll never go back to Eugene or another service department if I dont have to.Thanks

I went into the VW Dealership in Bend, OR to have the service and was told by the Receptionist they were booked for two weeks and could not service my vehicle until after that time. I contacted VW Salem and was told I could bring my car in at my convenience and no appointment was necessary. I arrived at 2;30 in the afternoon and was promptly greeted by the Service Advisor in a most courteous and professional manner. The service was completed in slightly over one hour while I waited with my pet dog in the comfortable lounge. My vehicle was returned washed and vacuumed, and the service was reviewed with me in a professional manner. I was on my way in less than an hour and a half. Why such great service in Salem, and not in Bend? I will not go to Bend again and I plan to be a regular in Salem. I will recommend the Salem Agency to my friends and family and let them know of my unsatisfactory experience in Bend.

Had my front passenger window regulator replaced on my '13 GTI. Parts were ordered and several days later parts installed and everything is working like a charm. Except for the small snag about having to order the plastic rivets and having to keep the car over night, A+ service.

These folks have taken great care of me for well over a decade. Most recently, they helped me get a repair on a fairly minimal body damage that my insurance company's estimate company over-inflated and caused them to "total" my car. A car with no mechanical or frame damage. Greg and Steve helped to repair my car with money to spare, despite the fact that the insurance company docked me my deductible and a "Salvage fee", the money they WERE NOT going to get for totalling my car. With the extra money, I got a much-needed full-service on the fuel injectors that I could now afford. Car's been driven over 6,000 miles since I got it back in February, Beware of even the highest-rated auto insurance company - they're in bed with dealers and junkyards, all to make money and get you back in car-payment hell! Thank you VW of Salem, for saving me from this!

I have been doing business with Salem Volkswagen service department since 2011 for my 2001 VW Beetle diesel. Even before Lithia took over ownership of the dealerships in Salem, I always received really good service with the VW service department. My Beetle has had an ongoing electrical problem and they can be a nightmare to track down and repair. My car has been in the VW shop 6 times for hard/no starting problems since about July, 2012. They tried different things while attempting to diagnose the electrical problem, and I paid the service bill each time. My car ran just fine after each visit to the service department, but the electrical problem persisted. May 13, 2015, I tried to start my Beetle to go to a medical appointment, and the car would not start as the battery was totally dead. I called the Salem VW service department and talked with Greg Bell. He was very accommodating and patient with me as I was a little abrupt with Greg because my car had been in their shop for the same no start condition previously. I am handicapped and cannot drive my VW very often, except to and from medical appointments. Greg knew about my medical condition from my being in their service department many times before, for oil changes and general, required service/maintenance work. Greg offered to send service personnel to my home to jump start my car and drive it back to their service department. I was very pleasantly surprised at Greg's offer to come get my car. They kept my car for several days and when Greg called me, his service staff(Steve Foster)had diagnosed and found the real electrical problem with my Beetle. My car had a slow electrical draw or drain on the electrical system. The car stereo system was the culprit. Greg had his service staff bring my car back to my home so I could use it until they got the stereo system rebuilt. Greg called about a week later to tell me the stereo was rebuilt and ready for installation. Greg, again sent his service personnel to my home, and drove my car back to the dealership. The next day Greg called to advise me that my car was ready to be returned to me and that the electrical problem had been properly diagnosed, and there was no longer an electrical draw on the system. His service personnel drove my car back to my home. I said all this to say, I was blown away with Greg's outrageous and outstanding service to me. No dealership provides such outstanding and powerful customer service these days. WOW, impressive! I cannot say enough about the great service I received from Greg Bell, and his service team at Salem Volkswagen!! I was a loyal customer with Salem VW before, but now I will never take my VW service needs anywhere else....ever!! I also want to thank Steve Foster, the mechanic/technician, who performed all of the work on my Beetle. I have always requested Steve be the only person to work on my car because he is so highly skilled and well trained. I also called the General Manger of Salem Volkswagen, J.J. Hunsaker, to share my extremely positive, and pleasant experience with Greg Bell and their service department. I hope this letter and my sincere gratitude reaches Greg Bell, Steve Foster and the men who drove my car back and forth from my home, and the Salem VW service department. I also want this letter to reach the service manager, so he knows exactly how much I truly appreciate the great service I received from his department staff. Steve Foster spent a great deal of time, diagnosing and repairing my car. I was charged a very fair price for the professional work performed on my VW diesel Beetle.I highly recommend Salem Volkswagen to anyone who owns a Volkswagen, for all of their service needs.wally westSalem, Oregon

I originally visited VW of Salem looking at a used Audi Wagon. Anthony was my salesman. I've always found buying a car a stressful experience. I prepared myself with knowledge of the Audi I was interested in buying and the value of the Subaru I was trading in. Anthony and his manager Ryan worked with me on the numbers and I felt really good about the deal. The afternoon after I drove off in the Audi I took it for a road trip to the beach. I realized during that trip that it was not the right car for me. The next morning I took it back and asked them to sell me something else. They were awesome about it. I ended up leasing a brand new VW Tiguan. Anthony refers to himself as a VW Specialist and he definitely knows what he is talking about. He was awesome to work with and I'd definitely refer my friends to him. Ryan, the sales manager, worked hard to earn my business and to get me the very best deal, not once but twice. I'm super appreciative of these guys.
