It is a must that I add to my original post as LT has once AGAIN, gone beyond! A great Salesperson has follow up long after the sale and this is truly what LT does, follows up. I was advised to purchase a 1 year warranty when I bought my car. I experienced an issue, reached out to LT and he and Williams Subaru took care of my issue. Service like this is what brings a Customer back and gives us the confidence to refer a person. 3/2/21 My experience was GREAT! I had been thinking of purchasing a car since the beginning of the year. I was approved quickly and then the climate changed. My interest had not dropped, my focus had just changed. After many, many months, I was not forgotten, my Salesperson had the car he felt was for me. I received a call from "LT" and he said, "Donna, I have your car" I trusted him and 2 weeks later, end of July, I was in my car. They even beat my banks terms, which were GOOD and I ended up financing through them. Thank you Lord!! Thank you LT and thank you Williams Subaru of Charlotte.

This past Saturday I purchased a new 2021 Outback. We went to 3 different dealerships, our choices were between the Volvo, Acura and Subaru and in all honesty we were NOT expecting to fall in love with the Subaru. Our saleswoman Aimee Clark was a fantastic help, very knowledgeable on the car and knew how to explain everything to us. They were all very friendly and were able to negotiate with us on the price we wanted. Customer service here was absolutely wonderful. At the Volvo we received horrendous customer service. We visited for a test drive and purchase one of the cars , but after visiting the place we checked out another vehicle out of our interest. LT was patient in showing up the vehicles of our choice. We spoke with William Hicks on the phone to set up an appointment. After introducing himself in person, he turned us over to Shane Wolven, one of the newer salesmen. Shane was friendly, extremely knowledgeable, and very helpful in assisting us to find the vehicle we wanted. He was extremely accommodating and never failed to smile through all the times we sent him back to management to work out the perfect deal for us. Once we had everything to our satisfaction, Brian Purser came over to meet us and spent time talking with us, never once acting like he was in a hurry to move on. John Dew made our time in the Finance office comfortable and painless as well. Trading our 2013 Outback for a brand new 2017 was a completely pleasant experience, and we highly recommend Williams Subaru.

When you have car problems and have to get repairs, this is the place to go! Every person I talked to throughout the process made me feel like they cared about my satisfaction. I thought the sales person was really good. I explained to him what I was interested in what I needed my payments to be. Although we were not able to make a deal. I thought he was knowledgeable and really tried to earn my business and he did not play the waiting game. The only criticism I would offer to the sales person is to find out the bottom line payment before he tries to negotiate with the customer. In our negotiations we actually reached an agreement however, once he presented it to the finance manager even though he had all the information the finance manager stated he could not make the deal. It was kind of one of those situations of don't offer it unless you have approval to do so. But outside of that it was a good experience.

If you purchase here they want to charge you $899.00 as a "security fee". They do this so if your car is stolen and someone removes the VIN number they can still retrieve your vehicle. I told them that I didn't need that since my insurance company would buy me a replacement car. They refused to drop this fee so I went elsewhere and found an honest dealer that is BBB certified, unlike Williams Subaru.I would stay clear of this place. When visiting other dealers and asked if they charged a "security fee" they immediately told me that it sounded like I had visited Williams Subaru. It appears that their reputation is well known in the area.

E-mailed on Thursday to look at a car on Saturday. Drove up to find the car hadn't even been cleaned and was filthy. Explained that due to how far a drive it was I would be looking at 2 other similar cars while in the area. Sales Manager told the sales associate that they wouldn't give us a trade value unless we were going to buy their car. Well, we didn't buy their car and I wouldn't go back there even though I had bought a car there in the past. Glad I didn't deal with them because the other dealership that had a similar vehicle was an absolute pleasure to deal with.

My wife and I had a great experience purchasing our 2014 Lexus RX450h at Williams Subaru in Charlotte. Our sales rep, Julius was a pleasure to work with - not pushy to get a sale, but soft-spoken and helpful. We had many questions about the vehicle and he provided documented information regarding such inquiries. Even though the dealership performs a market based sales price, they were willing to negotiate the price a little in order to get us into the vehicle in our comfort zone. When we returned to the dealership the next morning, the vehicle had been freshly detailed, refueled and they arranged for their interior trim company to meet with us to remedy a very small blemish. Very nice experience overall.If Williams Subaru has another vehicle in the future that we are interested in, we will be back there in a snap.

Our Subaru was on the recall for air bag replacement. We were told that it may be a month before we could get it . My wife has a hip problem getting in and out of the back seat. I called back a second time and Mike told me he would be able to take care of us. A couple of days later he called and said the air bags were in and to come in for the replacement. We were in the next day and the work was completed in less time than we were advised We have been serviced by Folger for the last 16 years and appreciate the service we have received during that time. .

I found a used truck on autotrader. Called and spoke with Mike Melton, the parts and service director, to inquire about the condition of the vehicle. Mike was instantly familiar with the vehicle and answered specific questions I had about the truck's condition. Mike was extremely professional, polite, patient and knowledgeable. Mike offered to contact the sales manager to inquire if the truck was still available and return my call. A few minutes later, Mike called and said the track was available and gave me Jim Gamble's direct phone number. Jim, the sales manager, and I spoke and I drove to the dealership. When I arrived, Jim Gamble and Fred Bowman (manager) greeted me and showed me the vehicle. The truck was in better condition than it appeared in the photos and I decided to purchase. I've been searching for a this exact model truck for months and can honestly say that this truck was in like new condition and was very competitively priced. The entire sale process took less than an hour, went smoothly and professionally. Everyone in the facility said hello and offered me a water. The truck was detailed and had a full tank of fuel upon delivery. This was the best experience I've had at any dealership and I would highly recommend them.

My wife did a lot of research for her next car. We looked at replacing her current car with a newer model of the same brand. After looking at Subaru's, she and I were hooked on the safety issues built into their cars. We were also impressed with the quietness of our Outback. I met Jim during my car-selecting process. I had been doing research on many Makes and Models of vehicles. Folger Subaru was going to be my last stop (after visiting 5 dealerships before this one). As can be imagined, I dealt with an array of sales people. Anything from pushy to overly laid back, but they all had one thing in common; they didn't know anything about the vehicles they were attempting to sell. Jim was different. It only took him a few exchanges of words to realize I, not my boyfriend who was with me, was shopping for the car. He was also friendly but best of all, he was KNOWLEDGABLE. I learned more about Subaru and their vehicles during my time than a combination of information from any place else. Amazing. I have not purchased my car YET. When I do, I will be going to Folger and I will be asking Jim all of my remaining questions. (IF any).

Update to my first review (below)After speaking with the Customer Service Dept. Mgr., Morris Maines, I brought the Cross Trek back in for a 2nd visit. The backseat was tightened, the seat belt chime was turned off and the tire pressure was corrected. I still feel the car pulls to the right but overall it is better. The rear view camera still shows an angle at the bumper but this is more of a design flaw via Subaru and not the fault of the dealer/department. I am still unhappy with Larry Atteberry's ability to explain things so I would request dealing with different Service personnel. First reviewI bought a 2014 CrossTrek and for the most part the Sales staff was fine. My complaint is with the Customer Service dept.....they are pathetic. Alignment was off, backseat was loose, rear view camera view was not explained properly and tire pressure have (and still are) issues. I took the vehicle in for servicing and nothing was fixed even though I was told it was. Issue #1 - Due to poor communication by the Service Dept I almost did not even get to pick it up on the day I was told it was ready; Issue #2 - I was told the alignment was adjusted yet the vehicle still pulls to the right. I highly doubt any adjustment was made; Issue #3 - The backseat is still loose and I know that wasn't tightened or made correct; - Issue #4 - the rear view camera was replaced but the view on the dash still looked the same. I was later told that due to the camera's specific placement my view was simply the way it is going to be. If that is the case, then why was the original camera even replaced? Again, poor communication. Issue #5 - I wanted the seatbelt chime disabled. Even though the owner's manual indicates this can be done the Customer Service Dept would not disable it. In my opinion, once they sold the car to me it is not up to them to make this decision. It is my vehicle and my decision to either keep or disable the chime. Issue #6 - After about 2 weeks the tire pressure light comes on but not consistently. Sometimes it flashes and stays on and sometimes it stays off.

The salesman Name Jordan was very helpful....It was the manger of the store that would not budge when it came to price and i had CASH. I could not get them to lower the price so i asked for some new tires because the ones on the jeep were balled. The salesman went back to the manager for the 5th time and he even denied that request. So I went down the street to LIBERTY AUTO. I found a 2012 JEEP with less miles and at a lower price. I liked LIBERTY at least they worked with the customer.

After doing much research and being a long time Volvo owner, we narrowed down our choice to a 2015 Outback Limited or Volvo XC60. We fought our way through the construction zone to get to the dealership. We were greeted immediately by a young eager sales person. We told him our story and that we were ready to make a decision after driving the Outback Limited. None were immediately available but after waiting 30 minutes he was able to find one but had to put gas in it. Another wait. And boy did the scavengers come out while the sales person was gone. I felt like I was at a used car lot. He finally came back, irritated with us because the other sales people were talking with us. We test drove the Limited and LOVED it. When we returned to the "showroom" as it is, we told him we wanted to pursue a purchase. We told him the color we wanted and the extras we did not want such as navigation and brake assist. Not worth the added money. I told him to see what he could find and call us. Of course the scavengers were circling. We left, and a month later, we have heard from no one, not even the scavengers. My conclusion is that Folgers is not really into satisfying customer needs and apparently does not want to search for the exact vehicle someone wants. They want to sell what is on their lot (not may Limiteds, ever!!) We have not made a purchase and will probably pursue another dealership after the first of the year. Sad

I confirmed an appointment with the sales manager to purchase a vehicle the following day. Told the rep that made the appointment with me to call me if the vehicle happened to sell before the following day. I was told that they would call me. I drove to Charlotte from Kernersville, NC Saturday morning only to get there and be told that the car was sold the night before. I could not believe it. The sales manager was apologetic but could have cared less. I sent an email to Rick Burleson who is the general manager there who was very kind and apologetic. I will never go there again.......

Jim ordered exactly what we wanted on our 2015 Outback, keep us current on the status and had everything ready to go when we got to the dealership. He and Shawn did an exceptional job on meeting our expectations regarding our 2013 trade-in. Everything from purchase price, trade-in and financing was ready to go when we arrived. Shomari, came over from the Kia side to help with a great financing plan. Between my myself, wife and son this is the 5th Subaru from Folgers and our 15th in the family history. The 2015 Outback has added features and improvements that are truly outstanding and heads above the vehicles in its class. As for the rest of the dealership, our 2011 was highly damaged from a tree, Crystal and the body shop staff made it look it had never been touched. Any time we have had service questions (never a problem), Mike has always been helpful and very patient in helping resolve any issues.I will be back next year to upgrade my 2013 Forrester.

First visited Folger Subaru in Fall 2013 looking for a family friendly car. Kevin maintained patient, unassuming but regular contact till we were ready to make a decision. We were all over the place with what we wanted from Forester to Outback. Kevin was willing to let us take cars home overnight to consider and ultimately located and transferred what we wanted from another dealership in NC. We love our new 2015 Outback and feel like we started a great relationship with an honest and fair dealership. Kevin gave us the best price in all my comparisons to other Subaru dealerships in town, and I literally spoke with them all at some point or another! I never sat at his desk once, while he went 'behind the glass' to talk with a sales manager. We are happy Honda to Subaru converts!

This dealership went above and beyond to meet our needs! We live 2 hours away so before we ended up making the long trip we communicated via email/phone with Mike. His responses were always quick- sometimes within minutes! We were serious buyers and knew exactly what we wanted, but were unable to make it to the dealership until a particular day. Mike offered to hold the vehicle for us, all we had to do was make a deposit over the phone (it counted towards the down payment). It was quick, easy, and very reassuring to know that we wouldn't be driving all that way for a car that could potentially get sold before we arrive.On purchase day, we weren't able to make it to the dealership until 7pm (an hour before closing time). We received excellent customer service, a great trade-in offer, and extremely good sales price. We never once felt that we were being rushed and the employees ensured that we were well informed about all of our options. They even beat the low interest rate that our bank offered! We ended up leaving at 10pm and were 100% satisfied with the purchase we made. We recommend Folger Subaru to any buyer!

After a really bad experience at Town and Country Ford, I went into Folger Subaru and was quickly helped by Bill Barber. He was very sweet and I was quickly test-driving a Forester. I had been searching for this particular model for months and I found the perfect one at Folger. The atmosphere was NO pressure, and I know I negotiated a great price. (They made it easy). They even threw in all-weather mats. Even the service manager stopped to introduce himself and gave me his card, should I ever need it. Shawn, the manager, was so friendly, and quite the dog lover. The whole experience was great, and easy, and I will be come back in ten or fifteen years for my next Subaru! (Because that's how good Subarus are.)

I first visited Kevin at Folger Subaru in October. He showed me a number of vehicles and the 2014 Forester became the standard that I compared other cars to. I tend to keep a car for a number of years so I wanted some bells and whistles this time. When I compared the Forester to similar size SUVs, I liked the Forester's styling and amenities better than those of other brands. The seat is high enough to make entry into the vehicle easy as I get older. The visibility is great in all directions and I liked the view alignment given by the back up camera. Near the end of the year, I called Kevin and told him the specific options that I wanted included on my car. He said there was one on the lot that fit my description. He actually brought it to my home because he knew I was serious about buying. He was patient and demonstrated all the amenities to my wife and I. We made the purchase that day. A big part of my experience was that I trust Kevin and thought he would be honest with me. I recommend him to help you get a vehicle that fits your needs at a fair price.

I'm extremely dissatisfied with the Folger Subaru Service Department. They consistently demonstrate slow, disorganized, discourteous service. When we purchased our vehicle (new 2013 XV Crosstrek), we were told we'd get the first two oil changes free. We called and made an appointment to bring the vehicle in for the first oil change. We showed up on time (8am appointment). Though there were no other cars in line in the service bay, we waited for more than 10 minutes before someone came out to greet us. It then took more than 90 minutes for them to complete the 15 minute job. Once the car was returned, we were charged 70 dollars. We explained at the checkout counter that it was a new purchase and we were told we got the first two changes free. The woman at the checkout was very short and terse and said she had no record of that and that we had to pay the 70 dollars. We begrudgingly paid. I called the sales department the next day to complain and was told that it was an error and that we would get the next two oil changes free (again). Several months later, we returned to try again for the next oil change. Again, we made an appointment and showed up early (9:30 appointment; we got there at 9:15am). Again, there were no other cars in line in the service bay. We pulled in and saw a service representative (who I now know as Shawn) sitting at one of the computer kiosks. He did not look up or acknowledge us in any way. We rolled down the window and asked if we should pull forward and again received no acknowledgement. We parked the car, got out, and stood and waited. Still no acknowledgement. No "Good morning, I'll be right with you." Just no greeting at all. He completely ignored us. After more than five minutes of us standing there talking about four feet away from him, I raised my voice and said, "You realize were standing here, right?" at which point Shawn nodded with a smirk, pointed his finger up, and said, "I'll be right with you" in an ascerbic tone. This, naturally, ticked me off, so I sarcastically threw my hands up and told him to "take his time." Shawn then walked away behind the glass separating the service area from the checkout area and began a conversation with a coworker. He pointed in our direction and gesticulated aggressively. After another five minutes, he finally came back into the service bay. By this time another car had pulled in. He then helped that gentlemen BEFORE us and had us wait longer. He then finally made gesture toward us and muttered, "So how can I help you?". By this time it was 9:50am. We explained in great detail the free oil changes agreement and that we were erroneously charged the first time. He looked it up and did see in the system that we were entitled to the free oil change.After another two hours to change the oil... we got a call that the car was ready. We returned to pick it up and at the checkout window were presented with a bill for 90 dollars! We again explained that the oil change should have been free and were again tersely told we had to pay the bill. We asked to speak with a manager, and only at that time did the cashier pick up the phone and call someone to check on our account. She spoke with someone (presumably Shawn) and was told that it was, indeed, free. She finally gave us our key back and let us leave with our car. I like Subaru as a brand and the sales staff at Folger Subaru is fantastic. But the Service Center is a joke. They're damaging any positive reputation the Folger Subaru dealership may have by association. In all of my interactions with them I have felt nothing short of insulted and disrespected. I will never be returning there.

I visited a number of dealerships in the Charlotte area. I had some good experiences, but the best experience was with Mike Martinez at Folger. By the time I got to Folger, I was pretty sure I wanted to get a Subaru. Mike was very informative and helped by explaining the benefits of the Forester and the Outback, the two contenders for me. He explained the differences in each trim line for both vehicles. We test drove both and he even let me take one home for the night. From the moment I stepped onto the lot until the time I drove away, Mike was very helpful. An excellent experience overall.

My wife and I drove 2 hours each way because Folger had the Subaru in stock that we wanted. Mr. Gamble was quite pleasant and the price of the Subaru was adequate. Our problem is that they valued our trade at "Auction Price". To my dismay, auction price is less than rough condition NADA or Kelly Blue Book. My low mileage trade in vehicle was a 2010 model that was immaculate and as clean as the 2014 that I was trying to purchase. When I balked at the "Auction Price" I was told by Mr. Gamble that was all that my vehicle was worth because that is all that my car would "bring at auction". My wife and I drove straight to another dealership Mooresville and we got a better price on the Subaru and got thousands more on our trade and had a much better experience than we did at Folger. If you want to go to a dealership that still operates with a "Sales Tower", bloats the price with Cop Dots, and receive an "Auction Price" for your trade then go to Folger. Otherwise, I would suggest that you go elsewhere.

The experience was great, I walked into the dealership looking to get more information and go for a quick test drive, and walked out the owner of a new car! The experience was great, everyone there was very friendly and helped in any way possible to make my experience go as smooth as possible. A lot of dealers' finance departments can be a real pain and a "hard sell" but everyone, especially Jason, were great to work with when it came down to the numbers side of the deal. I would 100% recommend Mike and the entire Folger staff for any car buying experience. I will for sure be back for my next Subaru.

We purchased a 2014 Outback at Folger on Labor Day. It was extremely busy that day vs. the staff that they had on hand, but our salesperson, Peter Holsten, worked extremely hard to earn our business and to make sure everything went well. He was handling at least two other customers simultaneously in addition to us but never dropped the ball and somehow made it all work. We had visited the dealership three weeks prior to our purchase and told Peter at the time that we were only shopping and not ready to make a decision. He honored that and applied no pressure that day or for the three weeks until we came back to buy. He kept in touch with us and made us aware of several offers but we never felt pressured to do anything. This is our first experience with Folger Subaru after being Honda buyers for 26 years, and so far we are impressed. One last comment: don't let the street appearance of the dealership deter you from doing business with Folger. They have been caught up in the Independence Blvd. reconfiguration and I believe spent some time fighting the city's attempts to seize their property. Hence, the building is in need of some modernization and access is a little difficult with all of the construction barriers. If you can get past the lack of curb appeal, you'll find a great bunch of folks inside ready to work with you.

I could not be happier with my new car, or my sales rep, Elizabeth Ziegler. She surpassed my expectations many times over. She took my every wish seriously. She made the difference between a happy customer and an IMMENSELY happy customer! I stopped by on my lunch hour, just to take a peak. Before I could get away, someone dragged me inside to meet Elizabeth. Within five minutes, she put me completely at ease. Together, we nailed down the specifications over an (admittedly long) lunch hour. That was a Friday. I would have been content to wait months for a factory order. But, by Monday, Elizabeth had the exact car on the lot and the papers were signed. My husband and I got a very good deal, especially since it included a custom leather makeover in my favorite color. But that was only the beginning When plans fell through on the interior leather due to circumstances beyond her control, Elizabeth could have said "I'm sorry" and I would have understood. But instead, she called to say things were still on track, only through a different company they hadn't used before. She convinced her management to step outside the box just to keep one client happy. We had fun mulling over new color samples. She even had the company stop by to show me thread colors for the contrast stitching. Unbelievable service! Elizabeth cared about my car as if it were her own. Now I have a car thats tailor-made for me. Elizabeth made it all possible.

We purchased a new Subaru Outback from Jim Gamble the day after Easter. I went prepared to have to haggle over the price, but Jim's price offer was below what my Consumer Report's suggested price was. We were on a tight schedule that day and told Jim that we needed to be out of the dealership with the new car because we had to take my neice to the airport. Everything went smoothly except the car was not ready when we needed to leave. We told Jim we would have to come back and get the car after dropping my neice at the airport. We had only been away from the dealership a few minutes when Jim called and asked "would it help if I met you at the airport with the car"? I was very suprised that a salesman would even offer to save us the aggrevation of coming back to the dealership. He kept his word and was there waiting for us after we got away from the airport. He synced our phones with the bluetooth feature in the car because neither my husband or I are very knowlegable about that kind of thing. But the best thing I wanted to share with you about Jim was that he even drove from Charlotte to Weaverville on his day off to help us with the home-link feature. We couldn't get it to work with our garage door opener even after having read the instructions in the owner's manual. We were very frustrated so when Jim called to see how we liked the car, we told him we were not able to get the home-link feature to work. We also wanted to have the side moldings and wheel locks put on the car and Jim brought them with him and put them on in the driveway while he was here, saving us a trip to the dealership. He got the home-link to work in no time. He also synced our tablet with the car and spent a good deal of his time trying to find music I had downloaded onto the tablet. If in the future we decide to buy a new car, Folger Subaru will be where we buy and Jim will get the deal. I was rear ended about a week ago. I took my car to get an estimate at like 440, which I believe they close at 5. I figured I would have gotten turned away because most people do that around closing time. However, Mr. Eaves looked at my car and gave me nm estimate. He told me when the parts would be in and when would be best to come back. I dropped it off on Monday and unfortunately there was another part they needed so it was delayed a little but they couldn't help that. They kept me up to date on everything, through phone calls and emails. I just picked up my car today and it looks great. I am very pleased with there work and how well they worked with me. Everyone I spoke with was beyond nice. My car was also cleaned for me, which made me extremely happy! Vacuumed, wheel shine and all! Wouldn't have picked any other place and in the future I will go back. I would also recommend them to my family and friends! Thank you Folger!

This is the second time I have had to have collision repairs there, and they even remembered me! Their work is better than any I have ever had done elsewhere, and they even cleaned my car inside and out (my tires even looked new). They even finished early and called me to let me pick up my car before I thought I would. If I ever need collision repairs again, regardless of what car I have, I will definitely go there again. I had my 2002 WRX serviced for a passenger side valve cover gasket that was slowly leaking, from the moment I first called i was treated with disrespect and attitude by the service advisor with sentences like "are you asking if we have the ABILITY to fix it, or if we have the time?". reluctantly I drove from mooresville to charlotte and sat at the dealer for 4 and a half hours while my car was being "repaired" i stated that i wanted all the parts and pieces associated with the gaskets on the top end, including cam seals, spark plug seals, bolt grommets, and the valve cover gasket. after the service was performed I was told if i still smelt oil or saw smoke that it was residual oil burning off. fair enough, i left and the car was fine for two weeks then began smoking much more than before. i picked the car up myself and found all the bolts on the valve cover that had been serviced backed out and completely loose. I had to look up torque specs and torque them myself. a few weeks after this, i was traveling down the freeway and the car began to flash the check engine light indicating misfire and bog down and not accelerate. when i was able to limp the car to a safe spot i opened the hood and saw the cylinder number 3 coil pack completely off the spark plug and resting on the frame stub (with no broken mounting tabs, appearing to also be caused by improper torque of the bolt). I called Folger subaru and informed them of this situation as well and Mike Melton was rude on the phone when i had asked him if there was any way to find out specs on the bolt (as it appeared to have come out of the coil). He finally agreed that he would call me back with more information. Over a week has passed by and i have still heard nothing back, I have called the dealership multiple times and left messages with no return. I had to get my car to Randy Marion Subaru in mooresville where the service manager Rob verified the issue and had to replace the coil pack as it had been damaged, upon working on my car, i was told that there is still a leak coming from the valve cover that would require redoing all of the work i originally paid over $400 for at Folger.So now after the initial $400+ at folger, and the $275 at Randy Marion that Mike Melton refused to offer any help with, I am out nearly $700 and still have the same issue I had before ever taking my car to Folger Subaru

I originally contacted Folger Subaru through their website to join the preorder list for a Subaru BRZ. They happened to have a car available for showing for the one day I could go and so I stopped by to take a look. I had talked with Ned over the phone and at the dealership placed a deposit. They were clear with me about my chances of getting the car but were still willing to work with me even though I would be out of the state at the expected time of availability and would require my parents to pick up the car for me.A few months went by and at last I get the phone call that the car is available. After a few phone calls and some overnight mailings (covered by the dealership) I now have a car waiting for me when I get home. I appreciate the willingness and patience to work with me and my parents.

I had a car accident and needed a new car. My brother-in-law had recommended Folgers Subaru. Of course I did my own search for a car and after 2 months I still had no car. It was mainly due to the terrible customer service and bogus car deals. Finally I decided to take a drive to Folgers Subaru. I met with Mr. Barber, enjoyed the freshly popped corn and a cool bottle of water. Mr Barber showed me a very nice vehicle that I was interested in but I had to wait to see if the previous customer would come back for the vehicle. We continued to talk and I shared with Mr. Barber details about my car collision. The next day, Mr. Barber had a vehicle by the same make of the car I previously loss. It was classy, clean and nice. Mr. Barber, is good; to my surprise he was listening and listening really well.

Folger Subaru made my automobile purchase not just a good experience, but a great experience. Much of this can be attributed to Bill Barber. I preferred to have most of my initial contact online via email, something that should not shock many in this day and age. Unfortunately, most other dealers and car salesman were not responsive to my inquiries, with some not responding at all or replying with one word emails. Bill was just the opposite. Bill quickly responded to my emails and any questions in them within an hour. Bill also did not make me feel like I was a nuisance or that I was wasting his time contacting him online. Bill negotiated a PHENOMENAL price for me, one that made me get in my car and drive four hours to buy a vehicle. They beat the price on every similar car within 500 miles, including private party. When I arrived to make my purchase, the car was shining, in fantastic condition and nearly full of gas, an added bonus in the times of $4/gallon gasoline. The paperwork was completed within an hour and I was on my way back home. If you are in the Charlotte area, or even within four hours of the Charlotte area, Folger Subuaru should be at the very top of your list the next time you are considering an automobile purchase, be it new or used. When you get there, ask for Mr. Bill Barber. He will greet you with a smile.

After several years of positive dealings with the service department of Folger Subaru I had the opportunity to buy a used car from them this week. It was a spur of the moment decision -- right car, right time -- and Jim Gamble was wonderful. Jim gave me a good price on the car I wanted and even managed to find some trade-in value on my old car -- a well-used 13 year-old Outback. The Outback I purchased was a recent trade-in. Already in good condition but some minor repairs had been indentified so I was given a "loaner" while these were done.Robert Pebler, the finance manager, explained all options clearly and there was no pressure to add extras I did not want. It was my most painless car buying experience to date. I am also happy I will not have to change service departments. Folger Subaru is a great dealership overall.

When I found myself in need of a new car, I had no idea where to start. My parents had an excellent experience with Folger Kia when they bought their van, so I decided to start there. I called the dealership and had the very good fortune to be connected with Gary Guine. I told him spefically that I wanted a good used car, with few miles and at a good price. I set up an appointment to meet with him a few days later. When I arrived at the dealership, I was amazed to learn that Gary had given up his only day off to come in and meet with me, just because it was a better time for me. He had a list of several cars that met all the criteria I had given him, and he showed me all of them! He took his time and never rushed me once. Once I had found the car that I wanted, he worked his hardest to help my husband and I secure the price that we wanted.Despite all these things that Gary did for me, the thing that impressed me the most was that he was not pushy in the least. He did not try to force me into a car that I did not want just to make a bigger sell. He worked so hard to make sure that I was happy with the car that I purchased. I could tell that he truly care that I made the right decision about what car I purchased.I had an absolutely fabulous experience with Folger Subaru/Kia, and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone! And I most definitely would tell them to ask for Gary Guine!

I took my wife here to buy a car. She was upside down in her current car and didn't know what she could do. We came in 45 mins before closing, so we thought they would just rush right back out the door. But they did no such thing! They let us tell our story and when we were through they said they would take care of everything. They spoke with the car company she had her first car threw. Got them to come down on the price that she had left. Traded her car in an got her in a 2010 car. With the same monthly payments. All that same night. Everyone one stay late to help. It was wonderful to see people go above and beyond to help out. Especially car salesman!! They even had us bring the car back the next day to get it detail. (For Free)!! I had a great experience working with Rodney on this purchase. I really appreciated the extra time he took to find the best scenario for me. Even though I would have purchased the 2012 Forester that was already on the lot, he took me back and showed me a model for the same price but with additional features. This Forester had just delivered and was not available to take home. But he worked it out so I was able to drive home with the 2010 Forester off of the used lot for the weekend. This was awesome because I know He was trying to sell that car (I almost bought it myself), and He could have given me anything to drive until I could pick up our 2012 but He wanted me to drive away in a Forester and that's just what he did. Previously I had a bad experience at Folger Subaru about 6 months ago when we came in to try and trade in my leased vehicle. I ended up getting dragged along for at least 4 hours looking at new cars I wasn't interested in and found that they hadn't found the time to look at my leased vehicle for an estimate. Needless to say, I was a little apprehensive about going back. Thankfully, I got to work with Jim Gamble. The guy is a quick, no nonsense kind of guy. I told him what I wanted in possible options for a new vehicle if we decided to trade-in. He found all the options that fit what I wanted and didn't try and sell me on something I knew I wouldn't like. And when I ended up deciding to buy out my lease, there wasn't any more mention of trying to get me in a new car. I respected that a TON. That was just the beginning. Jim kept everything moving smoothly and let me know what was happening (paperwork, the car getting cleaned, etc.). Explained everything to me clearly. Even my dad, who HATES having to go to car dealerships enjoyed our experience with Jim. (That and he definitely enjoyed the endless supply of popcorn provided...)Also, I need to give props to Rob Pebler because he was extremely clear and forthcoming about how the billing, tags, and transfer were going to happen. We've got a weird situation were we actually had to get the tags and sale to be compliant with VA sales tax and registration. Jim was willing to sit on the phone with the DMV (which is something I'm never willing to do) to figure out registration stuff and also helped figure out the correct sales tax for Virginia. Rob also made everything so easy for me that I may not even have to do anything else to complete the registration when I'm back in Virginia. All in all, a great experience. If you go there, work with Jim and Rob and you definitely won't regret it. I'll definitely be back there when I'm in the market for a new Subaru.

My husband and I have researched the car we purchased for our son for Christmas for several months. My husband emailed several dealerships, and we visited the local dealerships. Mr. Scott Brennan by far was the most courteous and quickest to respond to our emails. He worked efficiently with my husband to make the best deal possible. We talked with him during the morning and by the same time the next business day, we purchased the car. We were welcomed by extremely nice and friendly employees in the dealership. Mr. Pebler was very thorough with us while explaining all the extended warranty offers and financial issues. We were introduced to Mike Melton, service department, to answer any service question we may have had.One of the most pleasant car-buying experiences I have ever experienced.We will probably drive the 2 1/2 hour trip to have the vehicle serviced at Folger Subaru just because of the integrity of the staff.

Thanks to Jim and Rob, we can honestly say this was the bet car buying experience we have ever had. We never felt pressured to buy. Nor did we have to endure a long backand-forth negotiation or haggling process. The numbers came back right the first time around. Paperwork was accurate. The amount for our trade was a solid number from the beginning. Folger never played the game that so many dealers play - of shooting low on trade in and only moving up a few dollars at a time and/or shopping us around to multiple lenders. At first I was very apprehensive about visiting a major car dealership after a terrible experience and had been visiting smaller dealerships. My mother suggested that I stop by. Even though being told "No" was the only thing that could happen, "No" was something I couldn't bear to hear. The need was simply too great. However, my visit went perfectly, which is why I gave a perfect score. Jim Gamble met me immediately and asked about my car needs. I told him and felt comfortable doing so. He explained the process and the documentation I would need. I honestly thought that I would be at the dealership all day. The process was the quickest from beginning to end that I have experienced when purchasing a car. Mother even remarked about when I called her to share my experience. (She was the one who encouraged me to visit the dealership.) I left the dealership with a reliable car and a notion that I would definitely recommend the dealership and Mr. Gamble to my closest friends and family. I showed up at this dealership numerous times, always looking and test driving but not buying. Each and every time, I was greeted without pressure but doing what I wanted and letting me set the criteria for the cars I was looking at. I ended up finally buying a new Outback and traded in my old car. My salesman, Bill Barber, was the perfect gentleman. He was very informative about the car and answered all my questions with a big smile. All paperwork was thoroughly explained by Rob Pebler, extended warranties were offered with no pressure to buy, and I felt as though I got a good price for the exact car I wanted. I looked at many different cars and went to many dealerships, but Folger stood out for it's honesty, lack of pressure and friendliness. Other dealers ranged from insulting, to high pressure to neutrally friendly but didn't stack up to Folger Subaru.

I had been searching for a particular model and color of Forester, and found the one I wanted at Folger Subaru after searching extensively on the internet, as I was unable to find this vehicle anywhere close to my home. Email responses and phone calls were always prompt and courteous. The dealer I worked with was Jim Gamble, and he made the car-buying experience easy and stress-free. I got the financial deal that I wanted, he delivered the vehicle to my doorstep (which was 6 hours away) and drove my trade-in back to North Carolina- all saving me a lot of time and money. I live an hour and half from the dealer, (I found the car I wanted on their website), I was able to do all of the finance stuff online, so when I got to the Fogler all we had to do test drive and sign papers!! Let me begin by saying I am very hard to please. I have ridiculously high standards for salespeople, considering I'm a salesperson myself. I feel as though I have mastered the art of sales without obnoxious pushiness and thus expect others to match that standard. I was incredibly overwhelmed by the service and sincerity I received at Folger Subaru by Jim Gamble and Rob Pebler. I appreciated the fact that they treated me with respect and as a potential prospect instead of making assumptions and being pushy. It made me feel great to know that there are people out there that don't have to be dishonest OR obnoxious in order to be successful in the car business. I had a WONDERFUL experience at Folger Subaru and will be recommending this place (and Jim by name) to anyone who mentions to me that they're looking for a car. I feel like the price was very fair and most importantly, thanks to Rob, I understood everything when I walked out of the door. I was clear with both of them that I have never financed anything in my life---and I feel as though they went above and beyond with regards to taking care of me and making sure I was completely aware of how everything worked on the financial end of things. Rob also put in extra effort and managed to get my payment UNDER the aforementioned arrangement/contract. I truly felt like a member of their "family" when I walked out of the door. Besides excellent customer service and a very fair price-point, I LOVE MY KIA!! I bought a pre-owned KIA Forte and it is in WONDERFUL condition. I keep finding more and more things I love about it and it's so nice to be able to trust that i've ended up with exactly what it is that was sold to me---sometimes the concept of "true face value" is an anomoly in the car business. Over all my experience with Folger Automotive was a good one. I traveled from Wake Forest NC to buy a 2011 used Kia Sorento, which i am happy with so far! Because i live in Wake Forest, i had to make it work over the phone for the majority of the compromising. Ruck was awesome, and did nothing but work with me and tried to find every way and anyway to help me with my situation. Under two weeks from my due date, and being a first time car buyer, i was very stressed and worried about being able to get the car. My Subaru was due for its next maintenance and the annual inspection. Charles sent me a reminder of the maintenance needed as well as helpful coupons as always. Upon my arrival at the dealership today, he quickly provided a consultation that included taking my service request and reviewing my maintenance history in order to determine any additional services needed. His consultation was handled in a timely manner so that I could be on my way to work quickly. During the day he followed up with me as he found additional repairs that needed my approval and promptly notified me once my vehicle was ready. Charles is friendly and provides knowledgeable, thorough explanations for any recommended service, he quickly has my vehicle serviced and ready to go. All in all, I am extremely satisfied with the customer service, professionalism and care provided.

I had some issues with being presented with payments that didn't include all the information about interest rates, etc, but I suppose some people don't care about the final price as much as the payments they will be making.

As always this service experience was excellent. Charles went above and beyond to fix the side mirror on my Outback and repair a tire for me. He successfully repaired the mirror - even after he discovered some slight bodywork was needed. He continually checked on me in the waiting room and kept me informed of the progress. This is not the dealership where I purchased the vehilce, but will always be the one where I have it serviced - thanks mostly to Charles.

My husband and I are careful, analytical buyers. Our first Folger experience was with Ron Strum in Sep 2010. Ron showed us several 2011 Subaru models, gave us a wonderful tutorial on the engine, all wheel drive and safety of Subaru vehicles and answered our many questions. He was very knowlegable and explained (to me) complex engineering terms in simple everyday English. We took a test drive and then decided to wait on a purchase when Ron left the firm.The next Folger experience was with Jim Gamble, who is equally knowlegeable, helpful and very experienced. This time I worked alone with Jim since I would be the primary driver of this vehicle. He provided complete answers to my new questions as I test drove more vehicles, and finally decided on one. Then I was able to take the car for 24 hours to confirm it was the vehicle I wanted.Jim is friendly, low pressure and wants only the best experience for his buyers. And, it certainly was for me!

I was driving down the road looking at many dealerships for a used vehicle. When I pulled into this dealership I found a friendly salesperson. He was very understanding about my price range and respectfully showed me cars only in that range. After finding a car I liked we took it for a test drive. The salesman took us on a route that did a great job showing how the car handled and how the suspention handled. The negotiations are what most people hate most about buying a car. The process here was painless. The salesman walked me through every step and gave me all the time I needed to talk about the price. In the end the dealership was reasonable with their negotiations and we were able to walk away with a good deal. I would recommend Folger Automotive to others who are looking for a car. I was not in the market for a new car but they had a great Subaru selection.

I had done a lot of research prior to entering the dealership and there was no attempt to steer me towards vehicles or features that I was not interested in purchasing. Answers to my questions were consistent with prior research. I was allowed to take the vehicle on multiple test drives and the dealership did a good job explaining the standard and optional features. Once it became clear which trim line we were likely to select, the dealership located multiple vehicles in the area that matched the requirements and advised me as to their location and availability. Everyone at Folger was friendly and helpful. They were also very kind to my dog which came with me to the dealership almost every time. As Subaru promotes it's "dog approved" vehicles, it was nice to see the dealership supporting that message.As this is my first experience with Folger and Subaru vehicles, it is too early to comment on the long term relationship, however based on my initial experience I have no reservations when recommending Folger as a dealership. To date, they have delivered on every promise in a timely fashion and, when it comes time to replace another vehicle, Folger will be one of the first dealerships I intened to visit.~Brian

I was looking for a used car but had no intention of buying till I saw a Tahoe I liked. The price was a little steep but I decided to see what I could negotiate. From the moment I arrived Don was very helpfull never pushy and was very patient. We agreed on what I felt was more than a reasonable price with his mgr. After having my mechanic inspect the vehicle he discovered some minor repairs that were needed. I called Don and he said bring it back and never argued or made me feel uncomfortable and offered me a loaner. Jeff was in the service dept. and he repaired the Tahoe in a very timely manner. Bill was curtious and gave me a very nice loaner, a 2008 Subaru! My overall experience was great with this team! I will never shop anywhere else for a car. I'm 48 and have had my share of buying cars and never has it been easier or more pleasant.

Rob worked with us to find the car (at another dealer) that had the option package we were looking for, which happened to be a little scarce. The price with the trade included was close to what I was expecting based on my pricing research, so he worked with us on price in an effective manner. When we looked the car over upon delivery, there was a cosmetic defect from the factory on the grill. Late in the afternoon, Rob had it replaced with one from another car on the lot, and we were on our way in the same amount of time it took to process the paperwork. Lastly, we are thrilled with the car itself and its terrific performance in the snow. In summary, we had an efficient and pleasant sales experience and would recommend Rob Pebler at Folger Subaru to anyone in need of a great AWD vehicle.

I would like to say my experience with Folger overall, and Rob in particular was nothing short of fantastic! I live in TN and was working with the dealer here, but not having the best of car buying experiences. I had decided I wanted the Subaru Outback so my family and I started to call around to see what other kind of deal we could put together. I have to say that our interactions with Rob were very professional. At no time did we feel pressured and he answered all of our questions with a vast product knowledge.Most impressive to me was his attention to detail when we picked up the vehicle. We inspected the vehicle when we arrived to pick it up and noticed some cleaning stains on the seats. Our new car (2011 Forester)was quoted with an excellent no-hassle price that we were happy with accepting. There was no pressure at any time. Jim was helpful and responsive. Trade value was initially quoted low but negotiated price was reasonable with minimal cycling. Introduced to service department personnel. Explanation of vehicle features and new operations was thorough. Time to process entire transaction was consistent with most experiences (approx 3 hours). We researched the vehicle extensively. We did multiple comparisions across similar vehicles. We test drove the car and other cars. The Forester is an exceptional value. The SUV is #1 in Consumer Reports, has excellent reliability ratings, excellent customer feedback, excellent safety features, and nice trim choices and options. Our experience tells us the reports of the car are accurate.We researched price through several services and understood MSRP, Dealer Invoice, and true options cost. We could have probably pressed for some reductions in price. Admin fee ($600) and data dots ($250) could probably be negotiated if desired. Likewise, we could have tried to drive a higher trade-in. We essentially rationalized we were happy in the overall experience. We did take advantage of the current 2.9% financing. We are totally satisfied. We may have been able to cut a few more dollars from the overall price. The Forester can still be purchased as a buyer's market vehicle now. I expect this will end with a successful 2011 year for the brand. Yes, we will consider making Folger a part of future decisions on cars. We are very excited with owning the new Forester.

This had to be by far the very best experience of buying an automobile I have ever had! Jim was very understanding of my situation with my credit and we talked about what kind of automobile I needed. He was rather prompt in calling me back if he was busy. He has to be one of the friendliest people I have ever worked with. I would recommend this dealership ANYONE even if it was out of the area! During the week and half that Jim worked with me, I did not have to wait very long to wait on anything including paperwork. He even let my roommate look at the car. I purchased a 2005 Nissan Altima! I LOVE IT!!!!! So does my roommate! Jim bent over backwards to make sure the deal was completed. He picked us up from where we dropped off my Dad's car so that we would have a way to the dealership and they even provided a loaner car for me to get to work so that the deal could be completed. This deal took a while longer because I had to go my hometown about an hour from here to get my Daddy to help with this deal. Their quality of work would have to be great--they had my very clean and all of paperwork was good and organized too. I had originally called about an automobile online and and Jim and I kept playing phone tag until he found me at the Kia dealership next door and my wonderful experience started there. The customer service was great and even one person that was not directly working with me spoke to me too! My price on my Nissan was just perfect! It was well beyond that I thought I would be paying a month. I am one happy customer and when I finish paying off the Nissan and drive it for several years after it is paid off, I will most definitely come back and purchase another automobile for Folger Subaru--this dealership is second to none!

All questions where answered and the final product was well above avg. The only negative is that I would have liked to know about the dealer fee upfront, Im know this is standard but since I do not buy cars daily the extra $700+ dollars as a little shocking. Out side of that everything was great.

I had a good experience with this salesman. This was my first time buying a car from a dealership, and I feel that the mentioned employee was indeed a low pressure salesman. He worked with me at least moderately with the price, and was easily accessible by phone. The only issue was the fact that there was a lack of negotiation upon face to face communication. This could be due to the fact that the price was already good, but I had hoped for a bit more of a break upon arrival at the dealership. This is a buyers economy, and if it were not for the fact that I truely wanted this make and model, I may have passed up the deal. Also the manager, whose name I do not recall, was very short and almost rude to my companion. He gave off the aura of the textbook definition of a sleazy car salesman. The rest of the staff was accommodating.

I deeply appreciate his very effective communication skills and his taking a genuine interest in me and my car. I am a senior citizen and so often I feel ignored or discounted by service people. Extremely nice and helpful. Michael worked hard to make sure the work was thorough and also worked to make sure it was all covered by applicable warranties. Any questions I had were answered accurately. The only minor complaint I had was that they didn't readily answer their phones all the time - however, that seemed more because Michael was actively monitoring the repairs and not just sitting around waiting for phone calls.I would trust their judgment and the quality of their repairs.

bought our first Subaru last week, a 2011 Outback Limited with all the bells and whistles. We have been looking at this vehicle for 6 months and absolutely love it. We exhausted many options but ended up voting with our wallets and going with Subaru. We have high expections for this vehicle as it relates to longevity and overall satisfaction as we begin a family. Our experience with Neil and Jim thus far has been great. My husband emailed several dealerships on a Saturday and Folgers was the quickest to respond. We were able to do everything via the Internet and it was very easy. It was a hassle free car buying experience. We had everything we needed before we went to the dealership and everything was the same as what was negotiated in advance. There were no hidden fees or price increases/changes. It was well worth the drive from Asheville to Charlotte to buy the car from Folgers. The Internet made it so a lot less time spent at the dealership. Normally, you can spend two to four hours to buy a car and we spent just a little over an hour. . We had a few features upgraded on the 2010 Forester and that added to the time a little. Tom made the financing paperwork quick and accurate. Jim was helpful and knowledgeable. The staff worked well with our family. We would buy another car from Folgers and also utilize the convenience of the Internet again.

I was looking for a car with good mileage and a low profile into which I could easily load a full-sized pedal harp. Bill was nonplussed when I lowered the rear seats, slid in my foam mattress, and proceeded to shove my 6-foot-2 inch instrument into the back of a new Outback. He was gracious when I declined his gentlemanly offers of help, since I had to do it myself. Neil, who was watching from the window, said it would make a great Subaru commercial, although I am still waiting for my casting call. I had a positive experience with Folger because they made it so easy to take the car home where I could try loading other things, like dog crates; they were great about calling me as soon as the exact car I wanted came in; and they (or their computer) was attentive enough to send me a happy birthday email based on the information on my driver's license. Which is more than I can say for my son.

Was just beginning a search for my first new car in 12 years. Don made my son and I feel comfortable, and we really appreciated his kindness and sense of humor. He is someone you want to buy a car from. Tom and Neal were also attentive and professional. When I returned the next day to deliver the title to my trade-in, Don wasn't there, but Neal and Tom stepped in to take care of the details. Don also made a very nice follow-up phone call and sent a congratulatory note in the mail. They all made the experience much more pleasant than I had anticipated. I also really liked the fact that they were all neatly dressed, but not wearing suits - which seems a little formal and off-putting to me. The facility was neat and attractive, and I was not talked down to. They offerred reasonable finance options which were clearly presented.

Purchasing a vehicle is something I take very seriously. Upon entering the dealership I had certain expectations all of which were met by the team at Folgers. Opposite of what I expected, I was not swayed or convinced to make a purchase that I was not confident with.I had previously made an appointment to meet with Bill Barber to view a 2006 Jeep Commander. On the day of our appointment, he not only made a courtesy call, but he had the vehicle detailed and ready for viewing upon my arrival. He was extremely knowledgeable about the vehicle and had the car history ready for my screening.The customer service at the dealership was stellar. The employees at Folgers really made a team effort to provide me with all of my needs. In particular, Bill showed extreme patience during my rare car buying experience. His personality made the experience enjoyable and eased my nervousness about making a purchase. The next day I called my insurance agent, only to find out that Bill had already contacted them with all of the details. My policy was already in place. Bill had also made arrangements for my trade in tag to be mailed to the DMV, saving me yet another step in the process.Steven Bell and Neil Gelbert were also invaluable. They patiently worked with my situation until we had a deal that I was comfortable with. Without their help, this deal would not have happened. The personnel at Folger Subaru went far beyond that of any usual dealership that I have ever worked with in the past. Our experience at Folger Subaru was the best car buying experience we've ever had. Robert Pebler was a PLEASURE to work with! Rob was amazing from start to finish. It was like working with a friend not a pushy sales person.Regarding Question #2 Above...The car was not as clean as we would have hoped. The outside looked OK (not great) and the interior front and back windows had a film on them as if they'd been cleaned with the same cloth used to wipe off the dash. If we lived closer we would have brought it back.The only other thing we feel Subaru could improve upon is being more transparent about their 63 month in lieu of 60 month finance agreements. As we live several hours away, all of our correspondence was via email regarding the price and finance offers. It was never disclosed that a 60 month loan was not available until we were face-to-face with the manager ready to sign the purchase agreement. Overall, Rob's friendly nature made this experience one we are still talking about today. I came across a used Eclipse on Autotrader.com and went to look at it the very next day. It wasn't long after I started looking at the car before Bill Barber came out there to give me a better look at the car. I was new with 5 spds so Bill offered to take me for a ride so that I could see how it drove. While riding, he explained to me a little better as to how to drive a manual car. Even though I wasn't driving I could tell that it was a smooth driving vehicle. At this point I was just looking and was not ready to make a purchase. He saw how much I liked this car and I could tell he worked hard to make sure I got it and at a very reasonable price! However, I felt the Legacy was not sporty enough for me. Jim suggested the WRX, and I fell in love with the car. In May 2010 I took my 2001 Forester in for an oil change. Leaving the parking lot,I spotted a 2008 L. L. Bean Subaru on the lot. Jim Gamble walked over. detail shop was lacking in there commitment to the dealership to put out a quality used vehicle in cleaning it. the out of state sales paper work training is needed so the customer is more happy with the sale. the dealers price of the vehicle was in line with what i was looking at. the two sales people rick and robert were both very nice and to deal with on the sale.

I had to find a car in Charlotte for my daughter who was moving from California to teach. Jim Gamble worked with me to find the right Subaru for her, emailed me photos of the car and window sticker and gave me a great price for her. He kept up excellent communication with me and I never felt like I was as far away as I was. Normally I would not feel comfortable buying a car sight unseen but he made it work and took the fear of making a big mistake away. He never used pressure tactics nor did he hound me. The service he provided was above and beyond, he made sure my daughter had a ride to the dealership from the airport to her new car. He took care of every detail for her. I originally came in to get my 11 year old car repaired, but there were so many problems that we decided to purchase a new car. The service manager (Charles) brought us to Jim who was extremely attentive and only needed to show us two cars. The prices were lower than we thought they would be, so we purchased the second car which was better equipped Jim helped us through the maze of trading 2 cars and stayed with us after we finished the financial paperwork. He also helped us move all our "stuff" from the old cars to the new - there was a lot as we hadn't intended to buy a car when we started out. I originally saw "my car" a couple weeks prior out of the corner of my eye as I was driving down Independence...A beautiful blue Subaru STi. I finally decided to stop and look at it as Id never seen one up close and personal. Jim was at my side within a matter of minutes telling me about the car and asking if I wanted to drive it. Sure, why not! i liked the car but felt it is was a bit out of my league. i had a lease vehicle with a couple years to go. Jim asked if I wanted to get it appraised, you know, just to see where I stood. The numbers came back and I was not in the best shape trade wise, but not awful. Jim offered to give me a loaner vehicle for the night and have some buyers come and look at the car seeing if they could get anymore out of it. Meanwhile I put in a loan application with my "military bank". The next day, he informed me he was able to get more money for my trade. I informed him about my loan request being approved, but not to the extent to make the deal happen. We ended up working on all the numbers and submitting a loan application through his channels. Long story short, the deal went through as a result of Jim, Rick and Chris' resourcefulness and I was all wrapped up in a matter of a few hours.

Helpful sales people-did not have to wait to be shown a car. Willing to negotiate on trade in values to bring the price in line with what we wanted. Price specials brought us back to buy the car sooner than we had originally planned. Folger Automotive has been in Charlotte a long time-good reputation. Ordered the car and was kept up to date on the status. Purchase and transfer of title, license, etc was extremely seamless. Paperwork was done ahead of time. Finance manager, Tom, was extremely efficient, professional, and courteous. No "high pressure" uncomfortable shenanigans with this dealership. I would highly recommend them to anyone. Bob was very thorough in going over the mechanics and features of the vehicle.

Our first Subaru ever, and my first new car in over 10 years. When we decided our old car needed a break I began an exhaustive study on what to buy to replace our Buick LeSabre. After weeks of internet research we narrowed our search to the 2010 Subaru Outback. My wife had bought another brand from Folger several years ago and was not afraid of the experience with this dealer. I scheduled our test-drive using the internet form and heard back from Jim Gamble promptly. Jim was helpful and knowledgeable during the test-drive and I was most impressed that he did not try to "oversell" the car. We already had a good idea of the color and features we were looking for and Jim was happy to try to locate one for us. We ended up ordering "our" car. The car arrived sooner than anticipated and Jim walked us through the pre-delivery process. Tom completed the financial transaction and was knowledgeable, helpful and polite. He did not "pressure" us on any additional features but we bought extended coverage anyway. The price of the car was actually lower than I had anticipated and Tom was able to secure a better interest rate than we had been pre-approved for through "our" bank. All around this was as enjoyable as a car-buying experince could be.

They gave me as good a deal as I could find in the Subaru forums(the same as quoted from that New York state dealer). I did everything over the Internet and finally telephone. When I went to pick up the car, Jim Gamble(the Internet salesman) went the extra mile in giving me detailed explanations of how all the bells and whistles worked and even took me on a test drive to show how those paddles worked on the transmission. After owning Hondas exclusively for more than 20 years, we were considering buying a Forester after seeing its high rating in Consumer Reports. Salesman Robert Pebler did an excellent job educating us about the car's safety and engineering features. Even though we had already done a lot of research, we learned a lot more from him. In addition to being very knowledgeable, he was very friendly and easy to work with. We decided to purchase. At this dealership, even the "dealing" portion of the transaction was very friendly and low-key. We did not walk away -- as we usually do -- with a bad feeling about the experience. Visited first time on a very rainy Sunday. Dealership wss not officially open that day, but there were a couple salespeople and a sales and marketing director there that day. A salesperson was not available, so the sales and marketing director gave me great assistance, and allowed me to test drive several cars. He nicely walked me to the cars with an umbrella and gave fantastic service.When I returned a couple weeks later to test drive and look at other cars, the salesperson did a fantastic job of showing me all the features on the car. Very relaxed atmosphere and they are "straight up" - Neil Gelbert is especially fair and candid about the amount of consideration they can give.Bob Matzke was very helpful and pleasant to deal with. I took my Subaru in to be serviced as part of it's extended warranty which was issued for the fuel line. The serivce department did a great job, and even got me a rental car until my repairs were finished. The service department also kept me updated on how the repairs were going. We returned to Folger Subaru to purchase a 2010 Subaru Legacy. We had previously leased a 2009 Subaru Outback from them in May 2009. There are several other Subaru dealers in the area, but we have always felt comfortable with the group at Folger. They have treated us as part of their family and have always worked hard to earn our business. They are very willing to do what it takes to get you the car that you want. I would highly recommend the dealership.

They were ready when I arrived for my appointment. Took my vehicle in immediately. Made sure if I needed a ride home or if I wanted to wait. Polite, but professional.Checked on by other personnel, but didn't take their names. Check out simple and fast.I would recommend and have to my neighbor who bought her Subaru a year after mine. She has already had her car serviced.

bill barber and tom pauley were very nice to me and more importantly they did not sound like your usual car salesman. they were down to earth and they meet my requirments that i had set before i even walked through the door. i will by my next truck from them and i would recomend anybody else to at least talk to them before they make a choice. price was fair. all my paperwork was done correctly the first time, it didn't take long at all to get through the paperwork. they answerwed any question i had and provided all information i requested on my new truck(carfax).

I would recommend Folger Subaru for service,I recently visited their service department and I was treated very well. I had major service that was done and they provided me with a free loaner and when I picked the car up my car it was cleaned and the price for the repair was exactly what I was told over the phone with no hidden charges..
