Cool Classic Rides, Dealer #DA8690 is excited to offer another classic with this 1983 AMC Eagle 4x4 Wagon. Considered the first crossover SUV, the Eagle was built as an act of desperation. A real "do or die" moment for AMC at the time. They decided to mirror the four wheel drive system of the jeep and pair it with their passenger cars. The Eagle sits three inches higher off the ground than any of AMC's rear drive vehicles. This went well with the 4x4 and meant increased ground clearance and better off road performance. This particular Eagle is an absolutely excellent example of a very rare and very unique 4x4 wagon. With stated 59,000 original miles at the time of this ad, this is an absolute beauty. We have had the pleasure of driving it over 1,000 miles and can say that she runs and drives like a new car. You just can't even believe how nice it is. Original paint, trim, mirrors, luggage rack are all in amazing condition. There are a few scratches and dings (see pictures and as always, inspections are encouraged) but overall, this thirty seven year old car is in excellent shape. The interior is absolutely excellent and completely original. Everything works great, as far as we can tell. The stereo works perfectly. The seat upholstery is plush, original and comfortable. Door panels, dash and carpet are all in near perfect condition. If you are looking for a cool, classic ride that is like a time capsule of the eighties and big enough for the family, look no further. This is about as good as it gets and these are few and far between. Be sure to check out this Eagle before it flies off the lot.
