Recently leased a Touareg from Berge. Was a pleasant experience dealing with Jeremiah. He's a very nice guy and never made us feel pressured. Got a good trade in value and the overall transaction was very smooth.

We leased a VW Jetta from Berge, our salesman was Manny. We had a great experience. They gave us a very fair price, right off the top, and there was no high pressure sales feeling. We actually stood around, before we even bought a car, with Manny and a sales manager and just had a conversation, and joked around. We left without buying a car the first day, but they never attempted to corner us with the old 'what do I have to do, to sell you a car, today'. I did get a courtesy call the next day, but had already decided to by at Berge, because the best selection, and a really fair price. I would recommend buying a car from Berge VW, anytime.

My 2006 Beetle Convertible VW (no warranty left) has been chiming when the top was down and locked for the past year and aside from ruining a great ride with the wind in my hair, the chiming was driving me crazy! , I've had other mechanics look at it because I was afraid it would cost me an arm & two legs if I brought it in to the dealership. But NO ONE could find the reason...so today, I reluctantly went into Berg and I spoke with Chris Kahrs, (great name!!) Service Consultant. I explained my saga and he said before we send it back to get diagnosed let me look at it myself. We went outside, he first looked in my trunk to make sure nothing was in the way, he removed the tissue box from the back area and told me to lower the top, slowly raise the top, hearing the chime all the time. I parked it and he started having me slowly raise and lower it so he could see the how the locks we engaging and they both were locking!! BUT THERE WAS A THIN CABLE THAT HAD SNAPPED LOOSE OF THE TOP AND WAS LODGING ITSELF IN THE LOCKING MECHANISM AND EVEN THOUGH IT LOCKED IT STILL SET THE SENSOR OFF THAT SOMETHING WAS IN THE WAY, CHRIS SHOWED ME THE CABLE, WHERE TO FIX IT AND HOW TO MAKE SURE IT WASN'T GETTING STUCK IN THE WAY UNTIL i GLUED THE PIECE BACK TOGETHER. He was amazing! I just had to hug the man!! The personal service was wonderful and I'm not afraid of going to Berg VW because I know, as a female, I won't get taken advantage of. Thank you Chris Kahrs for looking out for me and making my drive a whole lot sweeter, especially as it cools down!!

Overall great experience. Friendly workers. Non pressure environment. Great with catering to your life/needs. Dianne was the sweetest lady, very very very nice, great customer service. I'd have to say that the only thing I wasn't satisfied with was that there was a crack in the windshield that they did not fix before selling to me and so I have to replace the windshield. Also, I have to replace the brakes because they squeak. So, I feel that they should have fixed these things before selling the vehicle. However I still went with it cause I know someone who can fix these things. However, I still feel that most dealers would have fixed these problems before selling. Just throwing that out there.

This was my first car buying experience at a dealership & it was fantastic, everyone was super nice & helpful. Manny sold me my car & he was wonderful, so personable & extremely helpful! I absolutely love my bug! It drives wonderfully! My first experience at a dealership was a good one thanks to Berge VW, and after everything you hear about dealerships I was nervous, but everything went smoothly!

Hmm... you purchased a new VW and found out your service department is awful. Well... do I have a service representative and dealership for you. His name is Chris Karhs and he works over at Berge VW in Mesa. He is old school honest, straight to the point, and cares about client satisfaction. Most recently, our Passat developed battery failure. We called him first and the service dept immediately answered our call, advised us on our warranty, replacement choices and got us back on the road. The Berge service department staff are polite, curtious, and work together as a professional team. We have never gone to voice mail when calling Chris. We never experienced service overselling or job overcharging either here. We are informed and demanding car owners-respectful always, but hold high expectations when promised job complition in the time agreed and done correctly the first time. So for about a year that we have been going here, they have been very fair with pricing and actually competitive for the repair quality and time line promptness with all work competed. Most importantly... our Passat is always given back running better and cleaner then we left it at service. If you call Chris and he is not available, other team members help determine your cars needs and Chris will call back ASAP, briefed and prepared to solve your car's issue. He has helped us feel more confident in our Passat TDI choice (especially from all the recent negative press) and that VW will have the fix soon for all TDI owners. Call Chris next time you require warranty/scheduled service or repairs on your VW, and you will be pleased to have done so.

I brought my car in for a basic oil and fuel filter change and upon return my windshield was cracked all the way down. I had my insurance replace the windshield and they went to the service department for the repair costs. I called today and talked to the sales department about trading my car on on a new TDI which are not available at this time because of the emissions issue. I then called the service department to setup an appointment to get my car serviced and they said they can't service my vehicle anymore. I had them have the service manager call me and he said that they are cutting ties with our relationship and will no longer service my vehicle due to my insurance going after them for the replacement costs of the window. Was just about to buy another vehicle from them I have had all my maintance done by them and they are willing to throw me away as a customer because they had to fix something they broke. Don't buy from these people!

Great communication with our salesman, Jerejiah, scheduling a test drive. He went out of his way to answer all of our questions. We had warned him upfront that we were "Ford people" and had used the same salesman for our last 8 car purchases (including our children's first cars) even following him to two different dealerships. In other words, we were used to being taken care of. Jeremiah met and exceeded our expectations as a trusted salesman. He simply made every thing happen for us so that we could purchase our new car.

I've been getting my VWs serviced at Berge Volkswagen for several years now and I am glad I found them. They get me in quickly and do the job right. Their staff is knowledgeable about VWs which is more than I can say for other dealers I've been to. I know I can trust the work to be done right.

I had looked at a car at Berge on Tuesday 10/21, had to leave to make a meeting but promised I would return 10/22. As promised I returned, I made it a very easy process for everyone. Truth be told I most likely know more about Volkswagen's than the majority of their staff. I knew what I wanted, researched a fair price and we settled on a price. Again, I had given them my time restrictions. They waited until well after I said I NEEDED to be done. Then tried to rush me through financing...That's when they tried to sell me add-ons, luckily I had noticed the adds because honestly, if you don't want or need something why pay for it? When I had asked for what it was and expressed how I did not want it, I was told it wasn't an option everyone has to pay it. Mind you this was a used car so if anything was added it was done purely for markup. The finance manager Derrick Lett argued with me about theft of Volkswagens (highly unlikely, unless it's towed away on a flatbed). Once I was told it wasn't optional, I collected my belongings and left. Of course within minutes the sales manager realized I had left and called me. Amazing how optional something gets after you leave. Too bad I realized how dishonest their practices were before they made it optional.I just feel bad for the salesman who helped as he was very easy to deal with and his commission shouldn't have been ruined by the finance manager.

I was at Berge Volkswagen and was blown away by the service, knowledge and humility shown to me by salesman Taylor Stephens. Not only was he very professional and personable, but he was extremely well-versed in his product and interested in finding me a vehicle that met my needs. I had also viewed another Volkswagen at another dealership and decided to do business with Berge, not solely because it was a better product, but for the experience and great service that they portrayed from the time I pulled up on the lot. It was very clear to see that Taylor was very much invested in his work and that further persuaded me to make my purchase. I love my new car and and confident I will be back in the future to do service with them again!

The salesperson I had was Joshua at Berge Volkswagen, and I was well taken care of in the process of purchasing my car. I have now had the car for 1 month and have received a couple of calls ensuring that I am happy with my automobile purchase. Each person who purchases a car will have different experiences. This is the first time that I have left a dealership feeling great about my purchase. I have financed 3 cars over a 10 year span (call me crazy, I just like cars) and this is the best experience that I have had.

Sales manager Brad Felice promised me an exceptional deal, and he delivered as promised. Our salesman Kevin followed up on everything insuring that the delivery was perfect, and took plenty of time to help set up all of the Passat's features for me. The finance department offered superb service as well. I will never go anywhere else for a Volkswagen. The staff at Berge VW earned a customer for life.

We received really great service here, recently purchased one of their Certified Pre-Owned VWs. We went by the dealership twice before visiting a third time to purchase. Joe helped us, and was always very nice and helpful and patient while we were trying to make our decision on whether to buy here or another vehicle from another dealership. Everyone else we met have also been very nice and committed to service. Not an overbearing dealership with "meat market" style salespeople - they are all genuinely nice and seem interested in finding you the ideal car for your needs. We would definitely recommend, so far our relationship with the dealership (and Joe) have been nothing but positive!

I met Terell six months ago when I came into Berge in a frenzy. He assured me that when the time was right if I came back, he would deal with me honestly. Terell did not disappoint. I came back to deal with him.He was kind, patient and curious. I appreciated this especially since I had a rough time at another dealer and he stayed late to help me obtain a car. Terell truly went above and beyond and did not take advantage despite knowing I had a tough personal situation necessitating me to buy a car.

Every time I have an appointment I don't think the customer service could get better, but it does. Greeted as if I was the most important customer. That goes for my Service Rep., Bob as well. When I'm there and when I leave I always feel good. I never worry that the work isn't done correctly, it always has been, which is very impressive. I have always neglected to add my comments on the drivers that brought me home and picked me up but they have all been extremely polite, pleasant and made you feel comfortable. This time was no exception both employees were good representatives of Berg. My Service Rep., Bob has built a very trusting relationship with me and that matters a great deal. I have talked to several friends and relatives about the service I receive, they have said they will go to Berg when looking for their next car.

I purchased my car in January of 2014 Berge VW. Upon purchasing and PDI, I noticed the passenger window was not operating correctly in it's one touch up and down features. So, I notified them and they offered to fix it then, but I would not have the vehicle for another day or two. I needed the car for work and told them I will come back later. Well, I did and they said the part would need to be ordered as it is on back-order nationally. But, no one told me this until the day was half over. I called them, asking what is the status was when they said it needed a regulator and would have to be ordered, pick up your vehicle tomorrow morning. I am sorry but my work does not allow me to operate on a non-scheduled week so I needed to ask a relative to pick it up. That was in late February. YESTERDAY, March 31, I call, not them calling me, to ask why this strange email telling me SP Part 097 has arrived and I have been scheduled for Tuesday to have it repaired was sent? They said that the part was here and can be repaired. Great, right? No. Today I take it in to be repaired at 8:07 AM and was told it should be done around noon. I get a ride to work and skip lunch hoping for the car so I can take it instead. So, at 1:45 PM, I once again call them to find out the status. Response? Oh, your car needed another part that we had to order, it will not be done until tomorrow. Not once did I receive a phone call about the status and was hedging my day on getting it back before 4:30 PM, or when I head home. Now I was left wondering about transportation. Did they even remotely offer me a loaner? No! Did they ask if I needed a shuttle ride? No! Just be back tomorrow. Now I am left to bother my relatives to give me a ride. Brand new car, pathetic service. Never going to Berge VW after this.

Thanks to Bob Donaldson's pro-active thoroughness in checking over my vehicle while it was there, I was able to save time by not having to bring the car back, and oney by not having to pay another deductible under my warranty - he also gave recommendations for my next service and suggested another thorough inspection to catch any issues that could potentially crop up. The fact that he was willing to take my vehicle in for me was truly exceptional. I am very protective about my car, but he took care of her like she was his own.

I had such a wonderful experience with these guys! I came in with a busted Ford Focus that I had purchased a couple years back and was so worried about having a mode of transportation. The sales lady was so sweet and funny that it really made me feel better about my situation. Well they were able to get me in a new Jetta with a payment that I could afford and I got rid of my bucket Focus! I'm so excited that I don't have to pay for an oil change for the next three years.

I bought a new Volkswagen from Berge and it was a great experience. Our salesman, Reuben, let us test drive a billion cars. And he was no pressure whatsoever. When we came back the next weekend to actually buy the car, we were totally treated with respect. The negotiation process took a little while, but they ultimately agreed to what we wanted. And the process of waiting for and signing the paperwork took way less time than I have ever experienced at a car dealership. There was no shifty pressure to buy "clear coat" or anything like that. And Reuben spent forever showing us everything about the car. It was altogether a delightful experience.

For over eight years I drove the very same car, a 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier that was handed down to me on my sixteenth birthday. It was a manual and although it was nothing to look twice at on the inside, it did well on gas and it was better than having no car at all. It was a workhorse, it even made a cross country trip from Ohio all the way to Tempe, Arizona. How it managed to last as long as it did, I'm not quite sure, but it must have been so I could have the experience I had at Berge Volkswagen. Patience truly is a virtue. For financial reasons, I had to stick with the Cavalier for as long as possible and make it last until the last mile. Within the past year I was finally able to become serious about purchasing a car so I've been doing extensive research on what car I wanted for quite some time. For most of that period I had my eyes set on a completely different car, the 2013 Dodge Dart. I feel in love with the car online and was convinced right up until two days ago that this was the car for me. However, that deal fell apart when it came time to search the dealerships. I went into two different Dodge Dealerships and the first experience was similar to shoving a pencil in your face and the second experience wasn't far behind. The staff was unmotivated, refused to take me seriously (probably because I am A: Young and B: A first time buyer.) The last salesman I spoke to didn't even have a business card to hand me after the test drive...at this point I was reaching for any lipstick to slap on this pig because I wanted so badly to love that car and love that dealership, but I was running out of benefits in the sea of doubts. Fast forward a couple weeks (still no call back from either Dodge Dealership). I was officially able to pull the trigger on a car and I finally wanted to go to a dealership and get something done, preferably that day. I called the Dodge Dealership only to find out that the card-less business salesman was not there, so I was forced to explain what I wanted to someone who, instead of sounding professional, sounded like he should be ripping my ticket stub at the cinema and telling me which screen my movie was playing on. Eventually he was able to explain that they not only did not have the car I wanted (six-speed manual, sound system) but that I was also unable to order anything without knowing what I was actually paying a month due to the 2014 models arriving soon. This was actually understandable, so I decided to fish for another benefit in the doubt and drive out there anyways and see if I could find anything close to what I wanted myself, since these people couldn't find their right shoe if it was on their foot. On the way to purgatory, I mean the Dodge Dealership, my dad called me and casually mentioned something about Volkswagen and how they had their "Sign Then Drive" event going on and it would be worth at least checking out for a test drive, I took the bait. I figured since all of the car dealerships are all next to each other like their own weird little versions of suburbs it wouldn't be that big of a deal to stop in. Dodge was suppose to be first on my stop but the VW Dealership just happened to physically be closer and since I didn't know when they closed and I knew I had a couple hours to spare with Dodge, I'd check them out. My expectations were at about the level of a first date, which means I was already figuring out how to awkwardly say goodbye before I even walked in. Take a test drive, talk some numbers and walk out in twenty minutes, thirty max. No big deal...I ended up staying for two hours after the dealership closed. This experience started when I got out of my old car. No one harassed me. No silent alarm went off, alerting the nearby salesmen fresh new bait has flown into their web...no vultures in sight. I was able to blink more than twice before I took my first step and I was actually able to look at a few cars until I decided I was ready to walk into the show room and ask someone for help. I'm a big boy, I can find help when I need it. I don't need someone to remind me how to breathe. I was greeted by two lovely sisters who worked at the "receptionist" desk. They...wait for it...actually had conversational skills! They were enjoyable to speak with while they were getting someone to help me take a test drive. A few minutes later, a young gentlemen by the name of Christian greeted me and started showing me a couple of cars.Right off the bat I told him don't bother showing me an automatic, I will walk out right now if you try to sell me on that. I think they drive horribly and they never hit the right gears (I'm a manual snob, no shame about it) he understood this right away and we never revisited that conversation, which was a great relief. I then told him I've always wanted an audio system in my car and that was as important to me as the doors were. From there we searched the entire lot specifically for what I wanted. And this is where they set themselves apart, instead of trying to sell me down to a car he thought I could "afford" he first and foremost found the car that was right for me and the car I wanted, with what I wanted. His primary concern was making sure I had the car I wanted, from there we would work on the price (which he knew was firm for me and was aware of what I was going to pay). At the time I wasn't sure if this was salesmen "BS" or not, but I played along and it turned out to be true in the end. After test driving the VW Jetta SE with Convenience package, I was sold. As far as the car goes, incredibly smooth shifting, just enough horses under the hood (174, if I was concerned about this I would be getting a Camaro, not a Jetta.) Grips curves and corners extremely well and is just overall an incredible driving experience. After some talking with Christian and the "finance guy, Dave" the offer in the commercials appeared to good to be true. The "catch" finally reared it's ugly head and it seemed as if the car I was looking at wouldn't come in anywhere near the monthly payment I was comfortable paying. I was okay with this, I'm smart enough to know that the sticker price is not what you're going to pay, the least of which is the fact that no offer includes the tax, title, license etc...I was of course bummed out about this development, but I had a price point to stick to, the fact that I loved the car was rather irrelevant because I wasn't going to get myself into a loan I wasn't comfortable with and I wasn't going to base a decision off of emotion, there's no point in having a new car if I'm stressing out over the payments every month, that completely takes away all of the joy.At this point I thought our visit was through and I was okay with that, after all I was still ready to pull the trigger on the Dart. It offered more features for a smaller price and it was my original objective. Instead of trying to twist my arm and get me to come down in standard of what I wanted, like God forbid trying to sell me on a Beetle or something atrocious like that they understood where I was at in my price and genuinely started to work with me on the price (a term far too many shady salesmen slimly use). Dave asked me if I liked the car I just got in, I said yes of course I do, but that's irrelevant because it's a hundred dollars more than what I was going to pay. No hurt feelings here, I understood and I don't expect them to give me a car, this is America, they are a business and they have every right to make a profit. He told me (and this was an hour and a half after close, by the way) hang tight, we'll figure something out.My Cavalier has been through a lot...and you can very obviously see that when you look at it. I was asking for a certain amount for the trade-in and I knew it was more than it was worth, but I wasn't going to budge on it. If they wanted a sale, they had to take this off of my hand. And they did. He came back with four options, each with a different amount of cash down and with the amount I wanted for my trade-in. Car dealerships are flexible, you just have to be patient and find a place that has good human beings working there. Berge VW was that place. They found me a car I wanted, a car I needed and not once did I ever feel like they were doing anything sneaky behind my back. The price was honest, out in the open for everyone to see and it was final. It included what I was actually going to pay and no hidden fee's or tricks when I finally signed the papers. They met me where I was comfortable, agreed on a price verbally and on paper and I came back the very next morning and purchased my very first car.Buying your first new car can be very stressful. Most people take advantage of this fact and make you feel uncomfortable and uneasy about the entire decision and you just end up regretting the payment a few months later. This won't be the case with my VW Jetta SE. Not only do I enjoy the car (I've spent most of the past day and a half in the car, I'm surprised I'm not typing this review in there right now), but I truly enjoyed the entire experience at Berge. From the moment I walked in to the moment I drove the car off the lot. It took a total of over seven hours over two days to get the deal done, but I never felt like I was in xxxx. I loved the entire experience, it was genuine. You can't fake genuine, no matter what. They treated me with respect, understood my reservations about buying my first car and didn't talk down to me. Frankly, they didn't screw me over, and in the world of car dealerships, that's really the most you can ask for. If they treat you well along the way like Berge did, well that's just a xxxx good bonus I'm extremely grateful for. Visit this dealership. Even if you aren't looking for a VW, not only do I think you'll find their cars impressive, but you'll be so impressed by their treatment of their customers that even if you really, really want another car (like I did) you'll be won over by this staff. I wouldn't be pressed to say that I will drive back to this dealership to purchase two or three more cars from them in my lifetime. They earned that loyalty when they treated me like a human instead of a credit card. A tip of the hat to the Berge Dealership, and specifically Christian. You gave me an incredible first car buying experience. I enjoyed every minute of it and I love my car. I will recommend Volkswagen and your dealership to all of my friends and family.

We live in Tulsa, but were in Chandler at the time and needed service to our Routan. I only wish this was our home dealership! The service and professionalism are extraordinary and saved my opion of VW. The Tulsa dealership is an embarrassment to the brand, but the Chandler location saved the day. It is an impressive place.

We had been negotiating with several dealers looking for a very specific car at a very specific price. We had all but given up, when the internet salesman Pete found our car even though it wasn't even inventoried into their system yet. He ran through their oversized lot on a hot day and was able to find the exact car we were looking for. The general manager approved the sale at a terrific price. By the time I got to the dealership, the paperwork was completed and I just had to pick up my new car. Berge was a pleasant experience and we didn't feel like we were being haggled or harassed. Which we could not say the same for some other dealerships in town.

You should not go to this dealership. I went in there to check out their cars, and the dealer did not even know what he was talking about. I was looking for a jetta s with a sun roof. The dealer tried to tell me that the vehicle did not exist. The dealer also argued with me when I stated the VW website said they did. He also tried to tell me that a certified preowned vehicle is not considered a used car. He then argued with me when i stated what my bank believed what a used are was. Finally he tried to tell me that a vehicle had a detailed warranty when on the side window, the car stated "NO WARRANTY AS IS". He continued to try to tell me that the vehicle had a good warranty. Finally when i spoke with the sales manager he had an attitude.

The sales team here at Berge is decent but the service dept. Is full of in-capable fools. Three seperate times I have come to.this dealership for service on my car as this was where it was purchased. The first incident happened on a friday night, it was around 5 and I guess the mechanics had already checked out for the weekend when it came to my vehicle. All I needed was a simple oil change, by the end of the night my car was stuck in a parking lot at the local mall with the tow truck arriving in the morning. Someone forgot to put back in the oil plug and consequently all the new engine oil drained out of my car while I was driving causing the engine to cease up. Long story short they towed it in and said it was fixed.. and i was just supposed to take it at that.I wasn't offered one thing for their screw up. Only after I complained repeatedly I was given credit for an oil.change. wooo hooooo, I hope my.engine wasn't damaged permanently. I decided to just move on and try not to.make a big deal.. fast forward to today which has caused me enough frustration that I decided to say something. This is about the 5th time its happened, I show up for my appt. That I called ahead for.and they seem to know.nothing about it. They tell me oh well we don't have u down to.come in... Uh seriously... someone with some flippin brains needs to take over before something serious happens...i have one more oil change till I get a free one with Berge( im nervous to even bring my car here anymore but its $80 in my.pocket) and then I assure all who read this. I WILL NEVER COME BACK HERE AGAIN.. Im thinking of trying a different dealer that has their shit together..anyways there's my 2 cents. Hope it helps.

This is in regards to the most horrible customer service I have ever received! I visited this dealer on 8-5-11 and spoke with salesman, Travis and manager Dan. I was in the market for a 2011 Jetta and was greeted promptly and given a very good tour of the new Jetta. We then sat down to discuss financing and I informed Travis of my credit situation which was why I had a possible co-signer with me. He said it wouldnt be a problem and we both filled out a credit application. At time I was informed that our credit was not up to VW standards but if I could come up with a down payment it would work. I proceeded to jump through hoops for the next 4 hours!! I finally asked to speak with the sales manager because obviously there had been some serious misunderstandings. I spoke with Dan and he informed me there was no way I was going to get a loan on a new car. I asked him of all the different options we had previously talked about which was a co-signer with 700+ credit, down payment to get total price to $15000 like he had said or someone else buying it all together. At that point I was told that he would have to try and convince a bank to do any of that and it would take at least a week. I told him I didnt have a week due to my selling the vehicle I was currently in. He then told me I would never get anyone to finance me and they wouldnt do it no matter what I did. I asked why then I had been jumping through hoops for the last few hours and he just looked at me with no answer. I expressed my anger with being made to jump through hoops for no reason and left the store. I truly felt since there was no one else in the building buying a car that I was being strung along and possibly being made fun of ex: lets see how much we can get her to do. I have never been so humiliated by a salesperson ever! People with less than perfect credit should be treated with the same respect as any other customer. If a loan cannot be found all I ask is to be honest so I go somewhere else. That little escapade made me not be able to find another car that day in turn making me unable to go into work. I am a previous VW owner and loved my 04 Jetta (which I had issues with this dealer during that purchase as well causing me to buy it from chapman instead) however after this experience I will be reconsidering another VW purchase and will NEVER purchase any vehicle from any Berge dealer. This kind of customer service is not acceptable and has permanently lost them a customer and probably more since I will be telling as many people as possible not to do business with any Berge dealers. On an end note I was able to finance another new car at a different dealer without any issues.

I visited another Volkswagen dealership in the area and had a terrible experience. The salesperson was the rudest person I have ever met in my life. She was angry that I was there and every question I ask she had a very snide remark. After leaving that dealership I was very upset and had a bad taste in my mouth. I decided to give this car buying thing one more try and I stopped by Berge Volkswagen. Berge Volkswagen gave me the best experience I have ever had! Robert, my salesperson, was excellent!!! He has been there for 4 years and he knows what he's doing and how to treat a customer. He helped me feel welcome and he put the fun back into the buying process. Dan, the manager, was great! He did not hide anything, he spent time explaining everything to me and he helped me feel like family.I would highly recommend Berge Volkswagen and I would not send my worst enemy to the "other" Volkswagen dealership in Gilbert!!!

I wanted to buy a Jetta but they didn't want to sell one to me. I had gone into the dealership last November to look at the new 2011 Jettas because I was thinking about trading in my wifes car for something newer. We were interested in looking at the base model because we knew that would be all we would be able to afford payments on since we were upside down quite a bit on the old car. The sales person showed us the only S model they had on the lot and we liked it a lot. We started the financing process and as suspected they were not able to get us in the payment range we wanted to be in since we were upside down on our old car so we left. No harm, no foul. Fast Forward to January/February this year. I get a call from someone at Berge VW asking if I was still interested in buying a new Jetta. I told her I was and what my situation was last time I went and told her that there is no way that they would be able to get to the terms I wanted. She assured me that they had some great incentives and promised me the moon to try to get me to come in and try to work a deal again. So I show up and ask for the lady who called only to find out she is in marketing so I was quickly whisked off to one of their sales people. I told him my story and how I was looking for the base model which was priced below $16K, and he told me I wouldn't find a new Jetta anywhere priced bellow $16K. So I said I must have been dreaming when I drove the one with the sub $16K sticker back in November. We looked around the lot for a bit but we didn't see any base models so I told him that I would be willing to try a used VW as long as it had a warranty and it was in my price range. He started telling me all about this awesome Mazda they had on their Mazda lot that was only $20k. I told him A: I don't want a Mazda, I want a VW, and B: If you guys cant get me the right payments on a $16k car how the hell are you going to get me the payment I want on a $20k car. Again he promised me the moon and I said I would consider taking a test drive. We went on a test drive and I said that it was a nice enough car that if they could get me the terms I wanted then we would have a deal. But then somewhere between the parking lot and the front door of the Mazda showroom he suddenly had to take care of some other business so he pawned me off on another sales person whom I had to tell my whole story to again. Anyway, long story short (Too late!) this third person took all my info and went to go run numbers and came back with a figure $200 more a month than what I was willing to pay (Surprise surprise). I thanked him for wasting my time and started heading toward the door. Then the sales manager came up to me and did the sales manager thing where they say "If we can get you payment X then will you consider buying this car?" Payment X was still way more than I was going to spend so I thanked him for wasting my time and got in my car to leave. But, instead of leaving I went back over to the VW showroom and asked for the girl who I first spoke to on the phone. I told her about how everything that I told her was going to happen, happened. I told her about how the whole time I was here looking for a Jetta, all they wanted to do was pawn a Mazda off on me. Then I told her to take my phone number off of any list she may have me on because there was no way I would ever do business with their company. If you want a new VW do not go to Berge VW. If you want a used Mazda, then you might get lucky at Berge VW.
