Check engine light came on 5 miles later, transmission. Mechanics at home say stored code, it was erased by someone recently. Also needs new front end, $2,100, brakes-shocks-etc. Called them, asked why they erased it. They repeatedly claimed they didn't. They had the truck for 2 months- liars! Now I'm out $5,000, and I can't even "drive their reputation " Liars!!

So have went through 3 trucks with dan. First one wouldn't go over 55 left me stranded with a load of hay. They don't inspect before sale like they say that is a lie. Second truck had male genitals scratched into it. 3rd truck just put new motor in said they test drove it. But we picked it up got 5 miles and diesel was pouring out like a water hose. So no test drive like the man that built the motor said needed to be done. And then 600.00 in new brakes and when she tried to stop there were no brakes. He was supposed to do a alignment and we tires truck sat for 2 weeks and he did nothing. Took insurance money and did absolutely nothing to the truck pics to follow you guys will love this piece of work. All of this is true and can be proven to anyone at anytime. And honestly this isn't even all the crap we have been through while our payments have always been current

I bought a truck from this dealer that they claimed was a Harley Davidson edition, it was not a H-D edition. it had H-D placards glued onto the truck body, the salesman said it was a H-D edition while negotiating the deal. The dealer response was that i should have known it was not a H-D truck and they had no obligation or responsibility to fix the problem. They later said i waited to long to complain, what they did not acknowledge is that i am a 100% disabled veteran and have been incapacitated due to my injuries/illness from my service in of the war on terror for several months. Simply put, this dealer was dishonest and more interested in making money than making the customer happy.

I have reviewed their inventory a couple times. Typically work trucks and larger platform pickups. Found one the I liked and made an offer. Wade, a very good Rep. of the dealership presented my offer and made it work. Very happy with the experience and if I need a truck and they have it, I will be back. I will also ask for Wade, as I said a great Rep. for the dealership.

Me and my wife just purchased a truck from this outstanding dealership. We live 6 1/2 hours away, and we are seriously impressed with the buying experience with this dealership. Todd is an awesome individual who was very patient with us, and always kept me up to date on issues with one of the trucks we were previously interested in. Due to some small issues we were unable to purchase that truck, so we decided to purchase another truck not only was he super fast to get it done, it was also delivered to us at our home. That's how you WOW a customer, with integrity, patience and with outstanding customer service. Just want to say thank you toTodd and owner for what you have done for us. Very happy customer's Sam & Maria

I recently bought a mini bus off these guys and everything went way smoother than expected!I showed up at the Castle Rock location after being very frustrated coming from a different dealership in Wheat Ridge. The salesmen in Wheat Ridge were very typical "high pressure, only give you the time of day if they know you will make them a buck" d-bags. Salesmen at Berkenkotter were soooo down to earth. There was 0% pressure, 0% judgement, and they didn't care how much $ I could potentially make them. They were just genuinely friendly...also I got the EXACT same model/year bus from them with only 8k more miles for almost $10,000 cheaper than the Wheat Ridge dealer! I have done very much research into buying a bus to turn into a camper. Once a bus is 12 or 13 years old the school must legally sell it at auction no matter what condition it is in and buy a new one. So finding two IDENTICAL decommissioned school busses of the same year means 99.9% chance they were both recently bought at auction. One company went with the KBB price (ugh I wish I remembered the Wheat Ridge dealerships name hah) and Berkenkotter went with a very reasonable price over what they got at auction to compensate for their services. So long story short, was an excellent experience!

A rare breed, indeed, are honest car dealers. But these guys are definitely the real deal! They listen to what you need, what your budget is, and don't try to push you further. They make the whole frazzled car buying experience go smooth, from when you walk in the door, to when you leave with your new vehicle. They should definitely be your first (and only!) stop when car shopping h!!

The kids just left the nest and are on their own, its our time now to indulge in a few toys and recapture the adventure of our youth. We set out looking at campers at all the retails stores in the Front Range, the internet including Craigs list, RV-Trader and newspaper listings. On a limited budget when you factor all the hidden costs of owning a RV we had a dollar figure in mind and were ridged. We found ours at Berkenkotter who was excellent in every way from letting us crawl through their selection un-monitored and unhindered. They were there to answer question when we had them, and if they didnt have an immediate answer went and found it and most importantly followed up even if it took a day. We felt valued, were treated with dignity and respect throughout all phase of our search and purchase. Most importantly they earned our trust and I valued their integrity as a trusted partner in our search for a RV that suited our budget. I am thrilled with our purchasing experience not only at the beginning but also throughout the negotiation process and most of all at the closing. I even was provided a warranty beyond my expectations at no charge, granted for a limited time. I highly recommend this dealership and their staff. We earned our little piece of heaven and are excited to get our adventure underway.

The folks at Berkenkotter have been exceptional. I had just crashed my car after moving to Colorado and I had a poor credit rating. I spent several days frantically searching for a dealer with quality vehicles who could get me financed . Every dealer I went to either had decent cars or could finance me, but not both. Then I walked into Berkenkotter. From the moment I walked in, they made me feel at home. Franky and BJ assured me that we would not only get me a loan, but also get me into the right vehicle. After the second trip there, I was signing the paperwork for my new minivan, at a reasonable rate with payments I could afford. After 3 months, my minivan encountered a fuel pressure issue. Having bought their extended warranty, I had the vehicle towed to their shop. I called Dan, the owner, and conveyed my need for my vehicle. Dan immediately called his shop and had my vehicle pushed to the front of the docket. A day later, I was driving out of the shop, and haven't had a problem since.I would like to personally thank Dan, BJ, and Franky for all of their help in the most seamless car buying experience of my life. I will buy my cars at Berkenkotter for years to come.

My wife and I were searching for a used 4x4 for our son and had no idea what we wanted; just a price range. The staff at Berkenkotter Motors helped us narrow down the perfect vehicle based on OUR needs, not theirs. The entire team was professional, knowledgeable, and most of all honest. We got exactly what we needed at a fair price and our son is very happy. While driving home my wife even said, " that was the best car buying experience I've ever had". And I agree. Thank you Berkenkotter Motors!

We went to the Castle Rock (south) store because our son needed a used car to commute to work. Frankie showed us a number of different cars, and we settled on a used Volvo. It required a few repairs that were obvious, and they were willing to fix those items. In addition, they allowed us to take the car to our mechanic, who suggested some other repairs that were not so obvious. Frankie, B.J., and Dan were very fair and accommodating in working with us to deliver the car to us in the condition we wanted. We felt good about the final price for the car we got, and we will certainly go back the next time we need a car. -Andrew J.

Being in the customer service business for almost 30 years, Im extremely critical on how companies treat their Clientele and my hat goes off to Dan and everyone at Berkenkotter Motors. They truly understand what customer service is all about, and furthermore they understand the value of a Client. I bought a used pick-up from Berkenkotter 2 months ago and since the truck had high mileage I purchased the extended warranty. Unfortunately, I started having problems right away with how the truck was running and wouldnt you know it, the issues I had were not covered in the warranty. I wasnt upset because I understand normal maintenance and the warranty paperwork is very clear about what is covered and what is not. However, the way Dan and his crew responded has earned them a Client for life. They got my truck in and out in one day and its running like new again, but the best part is the follow-up call I got from Dan, because he wanted to know if my experience was a positive one. I told him everything went great and his employees were top notch. Then Dan blew my mind. He felt bad that the work was not covered under the warranty so he offered me a discount to help me out. This is not something I asked for nor expected. My experience had been excellent from the time I walked on the lot and used cars are sold As-Is for a reason. I guarantee the next time Im in the market for a car or truck, Im heading straight to Berkenkotter and I would recommend the same to anyone reading this post. Thanks again Dan, Chris, Berny, and everyone else who helped me. You guys are the best!

I was looking for a specific Diesel truck when I walked into the Parker Rd location. The salesman Todd (military vet) was able to find the vehicle I was looking for at their northern location. He was very accommodating and eager to help. We picked the truck up and purchased it that day. The over all buying process was fast and efficient. I would consider using them again on my next used vehicle purchase.

We're in the middle of a long-term, long distance road trip, and we needed a new car. Frankie, BJ, and Dan were great to work with, and let us test drive the truck a couple different times. They were very knowledgeable, and put up with my many questions about the vehicle's mechanical state. They gave a more than fair price on trade-in, and we left with the truck we wanted at a price that worked! I would recommend Berkenkotter over any of the bigger dealerships. This place was nice, family owned, low pressure, high knowledge car lot.

I have been to many dealerships and by far this has been a perfect experience. Stopped in to check out a Honda Ridgeline and a Acura. The Acura sold before I could check it out. But I was after the Honda :) Allen and "Cecil" where kind enough to take the time out and give me the best service. If there is any place to go this is the place. Check out the big dealerships and feel that stress as you pull into the parking lot or be stress free and relax with good conversation. It's a no brainer!

I bought a Honda Element last week from Berkenkotter Motors in Castle Rock CO. It was the best car buying experience I have ever had. Not only were Frankie and Dan extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgable, they came up with ideas that solved some unique problems that I had to overcome to make the purchase. Frankie even went so far as to help me with my insurance company down the street, who were stalling in paying a claim, so that I could get the car I wanted. That was way above and beyond what I expected. I have never bought a used car before, only new ones. So I had a particular mind set (not entirely positive) walking into this dealership, about what it would be like to do business with a used car company. All of my worries were quickly put to rest. I drove out the same day with the car I wanted and I actually had fun doing it. And it turned out that Frankie had been a long time customer of Berkenkotter Motors for many years prior to working there. That speaks volumes to me. These guys are the greatest!! I would do repeat business with them in an instant!!

This is the second vehicle I have bought from Berkenkotter Motors and I am very happy. The first was a F250 about 5 years ago and this time a clean 2011 VW Jetta. The truck has been great and the Jetta is very clean. Drove it back to Grand Junction where I live and it ran great. I will always give them a shot to sell me a car.

Bought a truck through Roman. Was told the truck just had extensive work done by the ford dealer before they got it and would supply me with reciepts. They also said they would replace the windshield as it was cracked in many spots. After I had signed all the paperwork it became very hard to get ahold of anyone there. Over the weekend the truck broke down. What broke was the part they said ford had fixed. After trying for multiple days, I was finally able to get ahold of Roman who informed me that it wasnt at Ford and there was a miscommunication. He also had informed me that they wouldnt be replacing my windshield because they gave me there cost on the vehicle. This was the second truck i bought from them and the first time was great. I would stay very far away from them as my buddy used to do all there repair work on the junk they buy from auction and nothing ever gets fixed. Only a bandaid is applyed. I feel very sorry that a place with a reputation like CARS.COM got involved with a fly by night dealership.

We purchased a 2002 VW jetta from berkenkotter motors Castle Rock on 5/19/14, it was a car for my youngest son Kyle. It was an "as is" sale, no warranty, 3 days after sale the transmission went out. I went down to the dealer and explained problem to the Manager, he came back to the house and drove the car to his shop to see if i could be repaired. A couple of days go by, so I called to find out what was going on, the Manager Dan explained the transmission as shot and needed to to be replaced, he said he would take the car back as a trade for another vehicle...very cool as I was looking at a $2000+++ bill to get car repaired. We found another Jetta that had 20,000 mile less than the 2002, and he traded straight up for it. Everyone was very helpful and friendly at dealership.

I would never consider buying a car from this dealership. They have no interest of what you are looking for or helping you out by showing you other cars. There is no customer service at all and if you don't tell them what you are looking for you will be diffidently be there all day listening to there friends dropping by about what they did for that weekend. I would NEVER buy a car from this agency.

Have bought 3 cars and trucks from these guys, about to buy 2 more trucks. Never had any issues with the dealer, in fact they've gone out of their way to fix problems with one of the vehicles, even though they were pre-existing, and still sold it to us at a lower price than sticker. After reading other reviews from previous customers it is clear to me that the people who have had bad experiences with the vehicles they've purchased are inexperienced or just ignorant. These are used cars and trucks, they didn't just come off the assembly line. You not being responsible enough as a consumer to research your purchase and have it checked by a licensed mechanic prior to buying it does not make berkenkotter motors a bad dealership. It makes you an idiot. Both castle rock locations are great places and people to buy vehicles from. We've dealt with the Brighton location, very helpful and friendly up there also. The parker location has not given the same helpful and friendly service to me personally, however they were not overly rude, I just have a better relationship with the people in castle rock. Do your part as a buyer and let them do their's, then you'll leave in a good vehicle at a good price and it won't cost you in the long run.

Back in Early November of 2013, My truck my father had given me to drive through College had accumulated over 270,000 miles and was giving me fits from time to time. Seeing how I was now out of school and had a full time job it was time to purchase my first vehicle on my own and give him back what was rightfully his. After searching the web I found Berkenkotter Motors and they had the perfect truck that fitted exactly what I was looking for. It was a clean 2007 Dodge Ram 3500 4-wheel drive with only 65,000 miles. After making a few phone calls and arrangements with the salesmen Alan, he assured me it was a good sound truck I could rely on. So I went to go pick up the truck for a test drive and show my prospect truck to the credit union I was going through to get the loan. After driving it I told the salesman I was negotiating with, that if he wanted to make a sale the truck would need to be detailed and cleaned just like you would expect a new car your buying to be and a few small things repaired such has a fender light, electronics in the chair adjustment, cigarette lighter, and a few other small things. After being promised and assured that it would all be taken care of and taking a day off of work to finalize the paper work, I found out that was not the case. The mechanics at Berkenkotter only fixed half of the items on my list due to the fact that was all they knew how to fix, and on top of that they didn't even detail or clean out the truck like they said they would. All they did as far as cleaning was wash some seat stains out. I was finding used chewed bubble gum under the seats, McDonalds wrappers, and even some of the previous owners information as far as registration and a insurance card. All said and done I felt like I was rushed into signing the papers and getting me and the truck out of their life. A Little over 30 days after I had purchased the truck, lights inside the dash cluster quit working, turn signals were sticking, I had a security system that went off in the middle of the night that i could not get to turn off and caused the truck not to start until I reset the batteries, rear door lock motor went bad, and lastly I had a knocking sound coming from the truck and I knew that it was not good. The first thing I did was call Berkenkotter Motors and notified them of the knocking issue and would like it fixed. After several phone calls the response I got back from the owner of Berkenkotter Motors and their salesman Alan was bring it in and we will not overcharge you to look at the truck and will try to fix the problem with consideration that you bought the vehicle from us. I told them I did not have any days left to take off from work and had no way of getting it to them due to the fact it was broke down and making a knocking noise. I live in cripple creek and they are out castle rock (which is a two hour drive). I took it to the nearest Dodge Shop I could get it into and found out what the problem was. It turned out the trucks transmission, torque convertor, and flywheel were trashed. The mechanic said he was almost positive my new pickup I had just purchased had been slipped into a transmission shop at one point in time to get a quick fix. None of these issues by the way appeared on a Car Fax Report. After this whole ordeal it cost me approx. $3700 dollars to make the repairs and Berkenkotter Motors still refused to help me out one cent, because I bought the truck in as is condition and did not give them a chance to fix it. If they would of been able to tow the vehicle to their shop and fixed the truck they sold me I would of not a problem with it, but they did not offer me any of those services. All they could tell me, is that If I took the truck to them, they would look at it and try to get fixed at a discounted price. Why would I do that when they sold me a unreliable truck and couldn't even fix the small things I had asked to get repaired before I bought the vehicle in the first place. I even tried to get them to take the truck back and put me in a different one but of course they said they could do it but it would cost me more money. Now just in the last month my seals went out on my rear axle causing me to lose and saturate my brakes in gear oil . Now to the tune of about $650 I have new set of rear seals and a set of brakes. This has all been within 4 months of purchasing a used truck from Berkenkotter Motors where their slogan is "Drive our Reputation". After Driving BerkenKotter's Motors Reputation I have determined that it is not worth a crap and I personally will never do business with them again or recommend anyone else doing business with them as well.

I went looking for a vehicle and thought I would give a local Castle Rock dealership my business since I live in Castle Rock. I found a truck that I liked but had a service engine light that I was told it will get fixed and that it was not a big issue after several attempts of taking my vehicle to get serviced I was told by the mechanic that they had approved half off the work and they decided to approve third party parts after the mechanic had recommended them that genuine parts are needed for this particular code and that the whole work was needed as well.Needless to say after 6 times of taking my vehicle to get repaired because the service engine light kept coming on I asked to speak with the owner and was confronted by him telling me I've been coming in and asking for too much and that the truck runs well anyways and it passes emissions all time this time I've ask for only the light to be fixed very poor attitude and poor customer service this was also my second time speaking with the owner telling him I was unhappy with the vehicle, to this point I am uncertain that my light has been fixed since I just recently pick up my vehicle, and to add to this my vehicle wouldn't start one morning and found out that I had a bad battery so I spent some money on a new battery.I would not wish this experience unto anybody hence the reason why I am posting this.

I was looking for a nice used Ford F350 without spending a lot of money. I found one on there lot and from the 1st phone call to the transport process I was very happy. I was able to finance the truck through them which made the whole process very easy. I live in Omaha, NE and had the truck transported to me. When the truck arrived it was everything I expected. Customer service was awesome! Thanks so much BerkenKotter Motors!!!Jordan Wrieth

Sam was the quintessential used car sales man, promising us the moon, up until we sign on the dotted line. We needed the remote starter removed because it was blowing the fuse for our turn signals and brake lights. Being the end of the day, Sam PROMISED to have that issue fixed if we brought back the vehicle later in the week. He was going to have the vehicle taken to his mechanic, and offer us a loaner car until the issue was fixed. We live 45 minutes away, and I called Sam each day to remind him of our appointment, because I was going to have to take time from work to make the trip back to the dealership. For some reason, the ever friendly Sam who was our new best friend two days earlier, suddenly did not want to talk with us. Why would he, he sold me his car and now he was done with us. The sales man, Roger, who was now the middle man and speaker for Sam, handled our verbal assault professionally when he informed us that Sam was only going to glue back in place, a rear window defroster cable that came loose. We had given Roger a small list of other things we wanted address since we were under the impression that he was going to send our car to his mechanic for a few days to fix the remote starter. The list included minor things like replace a small light bulb on the bottom of one of the rear view mirrors and re-set the tire pressure sensor. After waiting around nearly an hour, stewing in our bad decision to doing business with Berkenkotter motors, a service tech/sales person by the name of Eddie asked us if we needed help. We explained our situation with disgust with him and he asked if he could look at the vehicle. We handed him the keys. Within five minutes, Eddie was able to remove the remote starter feature. The dealership did not have any adhesive to fix our rear window defroster, but that seemed such a small issue after waiting round nearly an hour. In the end, we left Berkenkotter Motors in Parker Colorado upset, lied to, used, and abused. For less than $20 for a bulb, a smile and warm greeting, Berkenkotter Motors, whos tag line is Drive our Reputation lost any future business from us, and from everyone I know in Douglas County. Our lesson learned, make sure the dealer ship FIXES anything that may be broken first, before signing the dotted line. I will have to keep that in mind next summer when I have to buy another car for my high school child, at another dealer ship of course.

Worked with Steve and Alan to get me back in a diesel. These guys got me the right truck for the right price and I would reccomend stopping by any of their locations and especially the castle rock one. Even my bank knew the owners name and said they would take good care of me. Give them a shot they'll set you up.

I went into Berkenkotter Motors looking for a used truck. Glenn was the first person I saw and he immediately got to work on helping me find the right truck. He listened to what I needed and showed me some trucks that were on the lot. None of the trucks were quite within my price range so we went inside & he showed me what they had to offer at the other locations in and around denver. One truck caught my eye but it was all the way in Brighton. He offered to drive it down just so that i could take a look! We ended up buying the truck. He made the process easy and he listened to me throughout the entire process. I would definitely recommend Berkenkotter Motors to anyone looking to purchase a vehicle!

We purchased a used truck recently from Berkenkotter Motors in Castle Rock CO. After having bought a piece of junk elesewhere, we wanted to get rid of it and find a better value used vehicle. We visited a few dealerships, and found the services and inventory best at Berkenkotter. The people at Berkenkotter Motors are genuine and interested in being helpful - not just in moving their inventory. They had a good variety of inventory, and took time to talk about pros and cons of different vehicle choices, being honest and transparent about the weaknesses versus the strengths of the cars we were considering. They were willing to brainstorm different purchase / financing scenarios, and never made us feel pressured or frustrated. We walked away being glad we had given them our money, and knowing we would buy from them again, as well as recommend them to other people. Good people, great business philosophy, honest and simple place and process.Thank you Allen and Dan!

I put money down on a truck for them to hold, as I live 3 hours away. We showed up at the dealership around 10:30 am, took the truck for a test drive. Right away we notice it's out of fuel, they sent me out in a truck with no fuel? OK, no big deal I'll put 10 bucks in it. Go to leave the gas station, no turn signals, no brake lights, and dash lights are going off like an amusement park. Understandably I'm a little upset when I return to the dealership, they sent me out in a truck that was not street legal! So the truck needs a few things, we put it in our contract that he will fix those things. When it's time to negotiate a price, the guy refuses to budge, and I feel treated me like an idiot for even trying to negotiate. At this time it's about noon, I already put a down payment so i'm obligated to buy the truck or lose my 500. Sign the paper work, and they say it'l be about an hour before it's repaired. I come back in an hour and a half... they're waiting on parts. About 4:30 we get a call, after we've been driving around Denver all day, saying it's done. Awesome. Get back to the dealer ship, take the truck to fill up the tank and head back for our 3 hour drive, turn into the gas station, and still no turn signals. WTF. Went back to the dealership, they dug around under the dash and hood, telling me he wants to take it to another shop cause the shop he took it to is full of idiots, then the tech asked what my time frame was?? Seriously? I explained that we'd been there since 11, and at this point weren't going to get home till 10, as it was after 6:00 at this point. Finaly they found some wires that had been cut from an old brake controller. During this whole situation, I was approached by one of the other sales man who gave me a hard time about "making" them fix the truck. I myself am a certified mechanic, and have bought and sold many vehicles, this by far being the worst experience I have ever had.

In November 2012 I went to Berkenkotter Motors South, in Castle Rock, Co looking for a good used car, and Glenn Young help me find my 2002 Saturn L300. He asked what I was looking for at the time, which I didn't have a clue, and he let me test drive a few cars, "WITHOUT" that Car Sales man pressure. Glenn had a very friendly personality, and was really easy going, which I likedHe also, searched his inventory at the other 3 locations Berkenkotter has in Castle Rock North, Parker & Brighton. He was able to have the cars I thought looked good, brought down to his location for me to test drive. A few weeks later and a few dealerships later as well, I went back to Glenn and I bought my 2002 Saturn L300. It was clean, and ran awesome, it looked like it was new, instead of a 10 yr old car. Even when we were signing all the paper work, he was able to explain everything clearly, without that "Just sign here & here" that I have gotten in the past from other dealerships. My only problem I had was 6 weeks after owning the car, I had totaled it in an accident. I really loved this car, and it was a no brainer on who I was going to buy my next car from. I called Glenn, and told him about the accident. That same day, he sent me links on cars that I might like. He bent over backwards trying to find me something I would like, and I have to tell you, I'm a very picky person to please. About 10 days later, and about a dozen or more different test drives, he was able to find me an 2003 Acura TL which was loaded to the max. He worked with me on price since I was a repeat buyer, and had everything fixed and ready to go. He even delivered the car to my job and handed me the keys, which was awesome service. Berkenkotter needs more employees like Glenn. Whomever reads this and needs a GOOD USED CAR, see GLENN YOUNG at Berkenkotter South in Castle Rock, Colorado you will not be disappointed.

My name is Clint, I bought a 2007 Dodge from Berkenkotter Motors on January 16 2013, I felt better going to a car dealership WITHOUT pushy and aggressive sales tactics, Allan has EARNED my business from here on out. I am from pueblo and found that the drive was WELL worth it when it came to prices and the dealership's willingness to let me think about my decision instead of trying to push me into it. I loved that there was nobody with the Pushy "buy it today" attitude. Alan was friendly and helped me get a great truck for a really reasonable price! great selection and even better service, I highly recommend them if you are looking for a vehicle and want to be dealt with fairly, its nice to not be taken advantage of!!!

Working with Glenn and BJ has been one of best experiences I have had when buying a used vehicle. When I called Glenn looking for a truck, they did not have what I was looking for. However, he remembered me and when one came in he called. If I could only count the dealers that did not follow up; they were many. The price of the truck and trade-in of my vehicle was as good as it gets from the start. No inflated prices and high pressure. I had researched the values before comining and they made me a good deal without haggling. Here is the best part. When I test drove the vehicle, I noticed a rumble when I turned to the right. I told BJ about it. He agreed that he had heard it too. The next day the veheicle went to the shop and they had it repaired before I took delivery. Credit goes to the owner as well as he was the one giving the OK for everything. All thoughout the transaction, I got good service and they always did everything they said they would. Berkenkotter Motors is run they way I would run a dealership. They have my highest recommendation.

Working with Sam and his folks has been my best vehicle purchase experience, by far, that I've had to date. Here are the highlights:During the purchase: 1. I went to Sam's lot looking to trade my jeep for a used Ford F350. I ended up purchasing a low-mileage 2004 F250. We were able to come up with a deal for trade in and purchase price right there in the parking lot.... no, he didn't need to talk to his supervisor and counter my offer over and over again. I told him what I wanted, he told me what he wanted, we shook hands and it was done.2. The vehicle needed a Cat Converter, so I agreed to pick it up later that afternoon. When I picked it up, he had the vehicle finished on time, AND he had the emissions test complete! He charged me nothing extra. After the purchase:1. After I had put 20K miles on the truck, it suddenly wouldn't start. I googled the symptoms, and came up with a fuel pressure problem. I was terrified that I'd have to have the fuel pump replaced right before Christmas, which I know is an expensive repair. I called Sam to get the name of the diesel mechanic he used. Sam not only had one of his folks pick me up from where he was stranded, he let me borrow a car for two days while the truck was getting repaired. When I got the bill for the repair, it was missing a few things. There was no charge for towing. There was no charge the the car I used for two days. And, instead of them replacing the fuel pump, the mechanic, Mark, found it was a smaller problem, so overall I paid less than $500. Incredible, because I am a female, and have been "taken to the cleaners" on several occasions over vehicle repairs. Sam has an integrity and customer service ethic beyond all I have ever dealt with before. I won't buy a vehicle anyplace else. Thank you Sam!

I have purchased 5 vehicles from Berkenkotter Motors in Castle Rock and Brighton over the past 14 years for my family. 91 Mazda 626, 95 Honda Civic, 97 Lexus Es300, 2001 Acura MDX, 2003 Ford F350 6.0 Diesel. Each vehicle had over 50,000 miles on them when I bought them. I still own the Ford and the Lexus. All the other vehicles had over 120,000 mile on them and I sold them myself. The lexus has over 220,000 miles on it and I am planning to trade it in on a different vehicle at Berkenkotter Motors. When I buy vehicles I do the research on them Because I am buying vehicles used and as is and do not know how the vehicle was treated by the previous owner I have it checked out by my mechanic. If my mechanic says that the vehicle is in good or excellent shape then I look to the reviews for that make and model on the internet for problems and take the positve and negative reviews with a grain of salt so to say. If it looks like the vehicle has had the same issues then I negogiate the extended warranty into my deal. So far I have purchase two warrenties. One on the 2001 Acura MDX because of transmission problems and one on the Ford F350 because of 6.0 diesel problems. I used the warranty on the MDX after owning it for three months. The Acura dealership put in a brand new transmission with my warranty. I have not had an issues with any of the other vehicles I purchased. I continue to return to Berkenkotter Motors because I like their selection and I like working with them and I know that I can always get into a vehicle for the right price. I know that when I purchase a vehicle that it is purchaded "AS IS" and that is why I will take it to my mechanic first and if there is a problem then I will look at something else. I have never had a problem. I am a family of five with three teenage drivers on a limited budget and cannot afford problems. The other reviews I have read come from people who will have problems with any used car dealerships because they dont seem to understand the term "AS IS" and that it is regulated by the State Of Colorado. Vehicles are an expensive need. DO YOUR HOMEWORK!

I got a 2006 dodge cummins from them 3 days later 2nd gear went out. I took the truck to a performance shop and got a ats aftermarket tranny for $5950. While the truck was there the mechanic did a compression test on the engine and the results where very bad. So now I need a engine!! Took the truck home and noticed the paint on the bed had some bubbles in it so it started chipping off and there is nothing but rust! they painted over alot of rust. Also the truck needs 2 injectors and a new turbo. The list goes on and on like the seat belt are broken. One in the back is missing!! All for $20k. So if you are thinking about a truck from them take your time to inspect it carefully. Get the car fax report! Have a mechanic check it over.

Dan and Glen were great. I had a 10 year old GMC Envoy which I was selling in order to buy a new car. Obviously, I wanted to maximize my sell price while also minimizing the tax hit. Dan came up with a plan where I could trade in my vehicle through the new car dealer and he would buy it directly from them. Worked out great! Dan and Glen are good folk and trust worthy. Which was not my expectation when I originally pulled onto their lot.

Drove six hours to get to this dealership to trade in on a new truck. Sam was polite but gave me a bad taste in my mouth immediately... Test drove four trucks and finally settled on one. He said no problem on financing so got to work with Ed on the paperwork. After refusing to falsify information, I'm two weeks into this tuck and still have no final contract. The truck is in the shop for service to be covered under thir after market warranty, but they have still not paid the warranty and though they say they have sent the paperwork in, nobody at the warranty company has received it. Loan has also still not gone through because Ed messed up the paperwork and had to overnight it to me ten days later for more signatures.Decent prices on trucks, and he gave me a killer price for my trade in, but overall very displeased with the level of service. I've bought from a number of dealers and finally understand the slimy snake reputation so many dealers have,

Recently Bought a Dodge Pickup at Berkenkotter Motors. The sales process went great, during which they not only let me take it on multiple test drives, use it for an afternoon, but offered it to me for a whole weekend before I had made a decision. But that's not the half of it. Three days after I took ownership, I was told my tail lights were out. Replaced the fuse, nothing happened. Had a local shop take a look at it, and they gave me an estimate of close to $700 to fix a fuse box and module. I was a little upset, called the dealership, and to make a long story short...they took in the truck, repaired it, and took care of it totally, and on top of that, they gave me a loaner truck for 3 days while they did it. Never have I had a dealership do something like that for me in buying a used truck or car. Dan, BJ, and Glen....You guys rock, and so does your dealership!!! I will buy my next truck from them and recommend them highly.

Passed by this dealership many times on my way to work and stopped in to see about a Jeep Grand Cherokee I saw. They let me look around without hounding me. I have been buying used cars for many years and dealing with Berkenkotter motors by far has been the easiest thus far. They were recomended to me by a friend and I can honestly say I will purchase from them again. The Car a 2009 Acura MDX was super clean and well maintained with a good price to boot. All in all I feel they treated me vey well, always were honest (No Tricks) and had a good selection of quality cars to chose from. I will be buying a second car soon and it will be from them!

I was very surprised to see a couple pour reviews and felt obligated to say something. I have yet to buy a truck from Berkenkotter, but I have purchased four trailers from them. I own a small business in castle rock, and am always in a hurry.... I have never had an out the door sale that lasted greater than 45 minutes. The last trailer they sold me was a keystone raptor 3612 toy hauler. The trailer was about $6k below blue book to begin with, but atop that Bj put new tires on it (6 total not cheap!) fixed a jack and the stairs.... Things that they did not have to do for the price of the trailer! On a different trailer, I had to transport some specialty product to Wyoming the following day and uhaul was already closed. Bj hooked me up with a motorcycle trailer 5 x 8 brand new for a little over $600 bucks! I couldn't find one on Craigslist for less than a grand! I have purchased a 24 foot car hauler and skid steer dump trailer with similar experiences. The other day I was in with an itch for a mid life crises car.... They threw me the keys to one of their corvettes...l after me driving it for a good hour, I came back and said it was not the right fit for me. Now I have never test drove a car for an hour before without that dealership trying to keep me at their establishment until I was driving home a mistake.... Not Berkenkotter Steve just told me to keep checking back they would get the right one in, when they do I will buy it from them!

Buyer BEWARE!!!! This "dealership" as they like to call themselves is to be avoided if you value your hard earned money! We recently purchased a truck from them and have had nothing but mechanical problems from day one!!! When taking it to Douglas County Diesel(what an awesome company) for the emissions test, they noticed that there was a problem with the brakes. Upon further inspection, they showed us how bad the breaks actually were. This truck should have never been on the road with brakes like these! It would cost $720.00 to fix just the back brakes. Berkenkotter didn't care as that was part of "routine" maintenance not covered in the warranty we asked for as it was a USED - SOLD AS IS vehicle. A month and a half into owning this truck, the fuel injector has gone out in it. The truck also appeared to have a newer bed lining in it, that was only there to cover the large hole in the truck bed from where there was once a Goose Neck Trailer Hitch. HAVE A MECHANIC INSPECT ANY VEHICLE BEFORE BUYING FROM THIS DEALERSHIP!!! The vehicle is now back in the shop and now we find out that they never added the warranty to the sales contract. Can't wait to see what that estimate comes back as. We agreed to sell our other vehicle thru them on "consignment" ... what a mistake!!! Little or no effort has been made and we are on our way to pick it up and sell it ourselves now that we have two car payments. They have their money and that's all they care about - padding their pockets and not about the customer! They could care less about you once they have your money!!! Please learn from our VERY COSTLY ERROR IN TRUSTING BERKENKOTTER MOTORS and go some place else to purchase your vehicle. I would be willing to bet that the 5 star reviews I have seen here are from employees, not actual customers! Other reviews from another site: "So an advertised Ford F350 Diesel truck for a very good price at Berkenkotter Motors in Parker. As I was approached by the salesman who might I ad was very personal and polite. Sam the sales man new quite a bit about the truck and its history, which made me feel like I was working for a reputable dealer and this would be a very good experience. I requested to have the vehicle checked out by a mechanic and then make a fair offer with my current trade in. As I left the dealership Sam had mentioned that he could assist me in selling my trade in on the side or under therir consignment program and I was thrilled that he as able to offer me more money by working this program instead. It sounded great. Well the nightmares are just starting to begin, the Ford truck I was trying to buy was a roach as quoted by the mechanic and service shop and they even wen to the extent of saying we wouldn't even know where to start, their quote to make the vehicle safe was $2890 and that would only be repairing 60%, and the truck only cost $7900. How crazy. Can it get worse, I call the dealershio to speak with Sam and Scott, who is the part owner said well we don't an agreement to sell your car and we require that on file; and that I will have to get back with you. To no avail after six calls to Berkenkotter they finally said come pick up your trade because there is no interest. Well I don't thin the vehicle was ever being sold by the dealership and that after reviewing all the comments I understand how crooked these people are. Don't ever buy a car from Berkenkotter." "Apparently, I am not the only person that has experienced a good face to face meeting and vehicle that is sub par. My temp tags are currently still on the vehicle and the transfer case has started pouring fluid from it. No response, other than Sorry bout that....Sold AS-IS. I'm not sure that that posting anything here is going to make a difference but maybe it help steer other people away from the lack luster workmanship that seems to be a trend. I bought two different cars from them as well and both gave me issues from the beginning. I wont buy a third. I tried to give them the benefit of doubt buying the second but they are the reason people don't like used car salesman." "My Review of Berkenkotter Motors: What would you think of a Parker business that would be so low to sell a used truck to a partially disabled veteran and not stand behind it when the transmission fails in the first month (with temp tags still on it)? Did I mention that the disabled veteran (me) needed to have the bigger vehicle to get to needed medical appointments that would be much more dependable, and could get in and out of easier, while also reliably transporting children to school and activities? Did I note that we actually purchased two trucks from them in an effort to support local businesses/economy, and because we needed them?! Did I also mention that all money that was available went toward the purchase of this truck? And then..the impossible happened.THE TRANSMISSION FAILED, costing a considerable amount of money to fix. Money that was not readily available. All that Berkenkotter Motors (Parker, CO) offered was a Sorry about that. It was sold AS IS. Heres our number for a transmission mechanic. NOT GOOD ENOUGH I SAY!! Another brilliant comment to cite to me as I was stuck in the middle of rush traffic waiting for the tow truck and Douglas County Police to arrive. Regardless of sold AS IS I believe that there is still an ounce of integrity and business ethics that needed to be employed during this type of problem (especially given the uniqueness to the situation). I have even written them to encourage participating to help resolve this crisis. However, as I figured, the phone lines remains quiet and no email traffic either. If youre planning on buying any type of vehicle (even a push-bike) from Berkenkotter Motors.DONT DO IT!!! Run away fast and go someplace else. Dont let this happen to you!! Thank you Berkenkotter Motors! You have taught us a HUGE lesson that we are going to continue to share with others (in every way possible)! I would change the Berkenkotter motto from Drive our Reputation to Tow of Reputation to the Closest Mechanic. Thank you to the Berkenkotter Motors staff for ruining our family Christmas and the charitable season that we always do for others..maybe next year..

Went in to see if they'd be interested in consigning my 2005 Ford F250, fully loaded and better than anything they had on their lot for sale. The guy didn't even want to see it let alone talk to me. Poor service and not a good way to do business in Parker, especially, when you rely on local businesses being supported by the community! That may be why their lot was full of cars for sale to begin with...

We had Sam looking for the right truck for months, and then when he got the right truck, we drove it, loved it and made the deal. We got a great truck (Ford F350) loaded and got a great deal. They are even going to replace the running boards at no charge because we didnt like the ones it had. Sam is extremely knowledgeable, really knows his facts on trucks. Nice guy too.~Scott Rothleitner

This dealership is horrible. I was trying to purchase a truck from them. I did have bad credit because of rough times, but they told me from the get go that they could get me approved. After spending 2 days in their office, I finally had to leave and go out of town. They told me that they were close to getting my approval and that they would call me when the deal was done. They asked me to give them a check for $500.00 for a deposit on the truck I was buying and that they would not cash it since they didnt have approval on a loan. I gave them the check and left for my trip. While I was on my trip, I found a much better deal on a truck, so I purchased it. I never did hear back from the Berkenkotter and I didnt bother calling them and telling them that I didnt want to purchase a truck from them. After a few months, I noticed that the dealership cashed the $500.00 deposit check. When I called to talk to Scott, he said that I never came back so they had every right to cash the check and that he doesnt give refunds. When I explained to him that he never had a loan for me, so how would you just cash the check. He said that he would look over my file and call me back in a few days. Well, Scott has yet to call me back or return any of my calls. This dealership is horrible. Scott does shaddy business. I just had a friend purchase a truck from the Berkenkotter dealership in Castle Rock. It was a great used truck, with good salesman and they were straight up with him on everything. It is a shame that Scott doesnt do the same type of business like the other Berkenkotter's in town, instead he uses their reputation to screw honest people. I will be filing more complaints with the dealer board. Thanks Scott! JERK

This is the way that business should be done! This dealer anticipated my needs being intuitive, useful, and fun. The value received was beyond all expectations. I also was extremely pleased how they treated my wife, she felt so comfortable here; which is usually uncommon at a dealership! Thank You Scott and Diann for doing business how it should be done!

After looking at several dealerships, Berkenkotter Motors gave me the best deal hands down. They made sure the truck was the right fit for me. Dan had me drive several trucks and explained the pros and cons of each type. I never felt like he was not trying to sell any one truck to me, just showing me the options so I could find the best one for me and my budget. I am very happy with truck I left with. No pressure, good selection, good value. It was what I was looking for and could'nt be happier.

I bought a 2007 nissan versa with only 39,000 miles on it had it 2 months and the air conditioner evaporator went out I talked to the owner and asked him to meet me half way on the cost of repair and he basically said to bad. We sell the cars as is and its your problem. I have every intention of telling all my clients not to do business. I'm am in a public business locally and I know a lot of people and would have referred my clients to them now I will warn them to stay away.

What would you think of a Parker business that would be so low to sell a used truck to a partially disabled veteran and not stand behind it when the transmission fails in the first month (with temp tags still on it)? I was in the market to replace my gas V10 with a Diesel. I shopped around online and came across the truck i was looking for at Berkenkotter motors in Parker, CO. Let me tell you now DO NOT BUY FROM THEM! When i test drove the truck i noticed that the fourth gear was grinding a little. But overall the vehicle was in good shape. I asked ZAN about this and he supposedly called his transmission expert and they said they were pretty sure it was the synchros in the tranmission which wouldnt be a big deal. I fell for this especailly becuase their add on the truck said "i would not hestitate to drive this vehicle accross country." Additionally i asked Scott (the owner of that location) about their process of making sure the vehicles are in good shape. He said that they go through them and if something major is wrong they fix it but if its little, they dont worry about it. So i went ahead and purchesed the truck and less then 45 days later the truck is in the transmission shop and needs a whole new rebuilt transmission. ZAN and more-so Scott lied to me. I tried calling them and discussing the situation with them and requesting that they help me out with at least half of the $3200.00 cost and ZAN hung up on me. These people are rude, disrespectfull, and have no customer service skills what-so-ever. My father is looking at purchasing another truck and was interested in using Berkenkotter but will not be now. I know they have several Berkenkotter locations and i am not sure about those, but unless you want to get treated badly and waste your money, DO NOT BUY FROM the PARKER BERKENKOTTER. I called Dan Berkenkotter (the franchise owner), he was civil, respectable, and heard me out. I am waiting to see if they decide to help out with at least half the cost of the transmission. Based on the Parker stores response "I need to grow up", which tells me they want me to just eat it. See the other reviews. They are very similar to my experience ironically enough. Looks like a DUCK, talks like a DUCK, walks like a DUCK, its a DUCK!**Update**It is 1-21-2011. I wrote the initial review in November of 2010. I have called Dan at least 3 other times. He has answered each time but pacified me each time by saying he would talk with Scott, or he wanted to talk with Scott a little more. Not this time! When he answered I told him that its been two months and everytime he says he will call me back he doesnt. He brought up that fact that I wrote this review on the internet and was upset by it. Proceeded to say this is the reason why companies get a bad name is for "FU** A** Customers like you". I reminded him that back in Nov. of 2010 I told him I was going to write this review if they didnt at least try and make it right with me. Dan turned real disrespectful and rude, so I gave it right back to him. He asked why I purchased the truck if I new the tranny was grinding. I told him that not only was this the first time I drove a manual diesel and was shifting gears to fast (any stick shift will grind if you dont shift right), but that when I asked Scott, and ZAN about it they both lied to me as stated above. On top of that their add said you could drive the truck across country (there was no way, my mechanic can vouch for that). He brought up the fact that I bought the truck 'As is', and he is right I did. But 1, I bought it as is under lies that were told to me and 2nd, I never said I didnt or wanted to do anything about that. I just wanted to give Dan the opportunity to fix a customer service problem and meet me half way with the cost of the replacement tranny since I was lied to. He doesnt understand the basic principles of good customer service and problem resolution. I wasnt looking for the 'farm' to be giving away, just an apology (which I still havent gotten from no one to this day) and a solution to the problem. The fact that he never called me back, and the way he acted when I talked to him today, Dan is just like all the rest of them. PLEASE BEWARE. I wouldnt put anything past these liars. For all we know the positive comments about them could be them or their employees writing good reviews to try and cover up the true reviews. Dan and Scott have had several opportunities to make it right and try to work this situation out as FAIR as possible. But instead he would rather call his customer names and not try to come to a resolution.

This dealer has good bargains on used, low-priced, as is cars. There are a good number of trucks and luxury vehicles on site. Before buying any used car, have it checked out by your mechanic, especially if the car or truck you're looking at has over 90,000 miles on it.

My husband and I purchased a vehicle from Berkenkotter motors in Parker. Scott and Diann, the two that run this lot, were rude, short and VERY UNfriendly to my family and I. We were nothing but nice and curteous to them, constantly apologizing for keeping them later than closing, but no respect in return. FYI, if you have young children, DO NOT GO HERE! They are NOT kid friendly, or adult friendly for that matter. We bought a nice truck from them, we gave them OUR money. The least they could have done was be nice to us and show us respect. We got nothing but a sinking feeling after buying our truck because we felt they didn't deserve our money. I would not recommend buying from this particular Berkenkotter.

I went to look at a truck traveling from another state and the truck was not as described, not even close. It was in terrible shape, I didn't think it would even make it around the block on the test drive! They were incredibly rude and were offended that I wanted to have a local dealer take a look at the vehicle. Red flag! They wouldn't even offer to call me a cab! I am completely shocked by their unprofessionalism, they are the epitome of a bad bad used car dealer. If you want an unreliable, abused truck, by all means, shop here!
