I had the best experience buying a car,thanks to Steve Warren.There was no pressure at all from Steve. I was looking on facebook and just happened to see a post from Steve Warren selling a Honda CRV. I responded to the post and Steve replied .We set up a time to see the car. I took it for a test drive and realized it was not the car i wanted.Steve told me about a few more cars. I then test drove a VW Tiguan. I fell in love with it. I feel very safe in my car. Steve worked with me and my budget to make this possible . It was the smoothest car deal i have ever had. This is a great dealership. No pressure, they are transparent, have a huge selection and a solid team. We purchased a 2017 Tiguan and initially the color and interior we wanted was not available. The VW Medford team went to work and took care of it, locating and securing the exact one we wanted, we took delivery within a couple of days of our initial visit since the Tiguan we wanted had to be acquired by the dealership; they communicated well with us during this process so we knew exactly what was going on. The initial price they quoted turned out to be a very solid and honest offer after I did my research and realized no other area dealer could touch the price. We got a fair amount for our trade, even though it was beat up a bit (2007 Honda Civic - city car). I would highly recommend this dealership... Ask for Michael Magner.. straight shooter, no BS.

Bought a new 2017 Golf R from them and it was the best car buy-in experience I've had in 30 years of buying cars. One reason was that it was a car that needed to be ordered and this particular line of Golf's only is sold at list price, so there was no negotiation. But I kept waiting for something to go wrong, or someone to try to trick me, or something to go wrong (because that is what I feel like always happens with dealers), but it didn't happen. These guys were honest, responsive, and did everything they said they would do. Very happy.

Colonial VW Medford is the least customer -facing an customer need Car Dealership I've ever encountered. HOWEVR they have my ETERNAL GRATITDUE for being so wholly focused upon what THEY WANTED/REQUIRED versus MY NEEDS, even when they offered, at the time, the lowest quote. I scheduled a test drive for a 2016 GTI 6-speed with Tito. I arrived on Sat Aug 27. Tito was very pleasant, but he immediately handed me off to Quentin my "Sales" person who was equally pleasant and gracious. Quentin & I went for a drive. I was happy/impressed. Once back at the Colonial VW Dealership, it was time to discuss price on the specific GTI I had driven. It was a "simple" deal ($14K-$17K cash, $1K credit card, remainder financed).Quentin went to a Manager & 5-10 mins later returned. The quote was $23,049.94 "out-the-door" (incl Tax,Dealer Fee, Title/Tag/Reg). I literally took my credit card out. However, everything "froze" when I indicated it would take 4-5 Biz Days to have the $14K-$17K wired into my Checking Acct. Quentin got a Manager Josh Jeffres who was also very pleasant. Josh's first remark "I didn't know we even had any 2-door GTI's in stock" was off-putting (A Manager who doesn't know his inventory?). I didn't respond. My purchase was literally a done deal. However, Josh was adamant that it HAD TO BE AN AUGUST SALE. I explained that I had zero control over the transfer of cash to my Checking Acct, that I didn't know my liquidity in the Acct the funds were being transferred from, & that it always took 4-5 Biz Days. This was unacceptable to Josh, even though I had my credit card on the table. He warned of "Incentives" being dropped at the end of the month, I HAD TO BUY IN AUGUST (Incentives? None existed on a GTI! VW was going to pull any DEALER-different from CUSTOMER-INCENTIVE leading into the Sept Labor Day Sales Event? Unlikely). Due to my enthusiasm for the car, I engaged in several different possible means by which I could possibly succumb to Colonial VW/Josh's absolute dictate. We discussed a down-payment with my card card & then financing the balance owed, & then paying off the entire balance when I got the cash transferred into my checking account. We discussed a credit card, some funds that were in my checking account, & then financing the balance. A jumbled mess. MORE CRITICALLY, It was ALL about WHAT Colonial VW & Josh were demanding! Did I care about Colonial VW's "August Sales Numbers"..YES, as much I do a grain of sand on a beach in Sri Lanka. Josh actually let me walk out of Colonial with the promise that I would call my finance guy on Mon Aug 29th & see what could be done expediently to get the funds by Wed Aug 31st. I didn't make the call on Monday. I decided to wait until Sept 1st. When I made the call, I was surprised to find out that I had sufficient funds that could be wired immediately without having to sell anything in my portfolio. Had I called on Mon Aug 29th, the Colonial VW car would be in my driveway. I decided to call Wellesley VW "a sister" Dealer to Colonial VW. They dropped the price on Sept 1st to $22,840 "out the door". I was SOLD. However, I also called Minuteman VW, and by "days" end---I hadn't considered Minuteman because no 2 door GTI's were in stock---they had agreed to source and swap for a 2 door GTI, and the price? $500 lower than the Wellesley price. I bought from Minuteman immediately & I only ever dealt with one person, Timmy Pullo. As for Colonial and Josh, the GTI I was on the verge of buying, is still on their lot. I wish to thank Josh profusely for being so blindingly focused upon his absolute WANT/NEED/DICTATE! Thank you Josh, you saved me $700.00!! It's a sorry circumstance when a price is agreed to, the Dealer is honoring it, yet they place their WANTS/NEEDS/DICTATES ahead of the Customer. But, that is Colonial VW Medford. Pathetic.

Outstanding experience. Called ahead to get best pricing on lease of a 2016 Tiguan. Telephone service was excellent, got price with call back in 30 minutes. Made an appointment to come in which was confirmed by text. Arrived at dealer and did a quick test drive as that's all the time I had; Steve Warren was professional, thoughtful, considerate and made the process easy and convenient. I returned later that day and signed the paperwork. Everything was transparent, no one was pushy in the least bit, and Steve was a real pleasure to work with. I highly recommend him. The dealership is in a great location and the space is clean and impeccable. Couldn't be easier, definitely feel like a got a great deal and was treated in top notch fashion.

I just leased a 2016 Jetta 6 speed manual 2.0 GLI that is exactly what I wanted. Both Dan and Jason worked the phones to find me the car and get it up here from PA, which was not an easy feat. Though there was no that kind at store, all the service people including salesman Caduste, Dan and Scott helped me a lot to find a one at port. For some reasons, it didn't work out. Started with looking online, responded to a car they had listed, dealt with Tito on the internet team and was then handed off, very nicely I would add, to Caduste. We sat and talked, I knew the car was what I wanted and the price was pretty good. My car 2005 Subaru Baja with 259,500 miles. They came up to a level on the trade that I was happy with. Financing was done with them and they even got me a better rate than I expected, with the divorce and financial issues the ex wife caused.

I knew this was a great dealer when I arrived late to my appointment because we ran into 4 accidents (Mass drivers) on our way to the dealer and arrived right after they closed. After hearing what happened, Caduste got right to business even though it was time for him to go. Test drove the car, fell in love, and came back the next day to purchase. I had read good things about Colonial, so decided to give them a try. From the moment I walked into their spotless showroom to the time I was driving my new Golf Sportwagen, the experience was excellent. Ron was helpful without being pushy or condescending. He seemed to genuinely care about what I wanted and didn't try to sell me on something I didn't need. In fact, he told me about a brand new trim option that would cost me less than the trim I asked about. After we made the deal, the insurance company failed to send the necessary paperwork and I had to leave the dealership without my new car. Ron made sure it was all sorted out the next day and went above and beyond by personally delivering my car to my workplace. Love the car and would definitely recommend Ron and Colonial!

He is very knowledgeable about the VW brand was able to walk me through many of the different packages offered on the vehicle. Despite their very large inventory, the exact car that I wanted was not in-stock. However, Caduste was more than happy to track one day for me and got it over to the dealership sooner than either of us expected. I really appreciated his willingness to go above and beyond to find the right vehicle for me. The Sales Manager at the dealership, Scott, was also incredible to work with. He gave us an very fair price on the car and started out with the best price in comparison to every other Boston dealer I visited. He is someone who wants to earn your business and will do anything within his means to make sure you leave as a happy customer. The dealership itself has recently been constructed and is absolutely beautiful inside and out. This dealership is a disgrace to VW of America! The General Manager, Ken, is highly unskilled, very unprofessional, and incredibly disrespectful to his loyal and respectful customers. The Service Manager, Leo, gives some effort but fails miserably. One of the front desk service consultants, Tom, also tries but fails to have some customer service skills. If two of the main managers do not provide a good example for their employees, what is to be expected from this dealership? Enough said. Do yourself a favor and go to a reputable VW Dealership that will treat you with the deserved respect and professionalism.

Couldn't be happier. Joe R ran around in the pouring rain grabbing cars for us to test drive and picked a winner with a CPO Passat. There was a little mark on the back bumper that they said they would have their paint guy touch up. I wasn't in a rush to get it so I left it there for the week. When I picked it up this past Saturday it was like nothing happened. The bumper looks brand new! They really took care of me here and will definitely recommend them.

I am disappointed with how the dealership is taking responsibility for the fact their company sold me a car that was different from the one they told me I was buying. I bought a diesel for the: (1) MPG; (2) resale value; and (3) the environment. I paid a premium for these reasons. I don't want them to pass the buck to VW USA and profess they are helpless to take ownership of the fact they sold me this car. I also don't want them to tell me I should not be upset because the car is "safe" to drive. There are financial ramifications that are mine now due to the fact this dealer and this dealer alone sold me a car that is different from the one they professed to sell me, and they should be better about owning that right up front. And, by the way, Greg Cohen from the start was full of puffery about the mileage capabilities of the car that were not true. He said that the estimated mileage was xxx, but many of our customers get in the high 40s or even 50. That set my expectations, and even with the cheated emissions process they employed to keep the mileage up there, I found Greg's statements to be prototypical of your "classic salesperson" and not true.

Let me preface this with saying that this is the first of two reviews I will be writing about my car buying process. My first dealership experience lacked something to be desired **cough**cough**Quirk VW**cough** and they will be getting their own review. Colonial VW was a complete 180 from what I experienced before. I my first interaction with Colonial was with Jason the Internet Sales Manager over the phone. I was in the market to lease 2015 Jetta GLI with the SEL trim package and a manual transmission. Nothing else. I did not NEED a new car. I WANTED a new car. Specifically that car, and the VW site said they had one. After hearing that I had been bait and switched earlier in the day, he was upfront with me and noted that the car I saw online had been sold the day before. Bummer. He then informed me that the there were a few available with their partnering dealerships but he needed to do a little looking. Before I he could even suggest coming in to chat, I was in the car driving. Once in the dealership I was greeted by Jason, and introduced to my man Ron who gets this game's VIP nomination. His opening line was "What can we do to make sure you have a better experience than you did earlier today?" It didn't take much. Fortunately/unfortunately for him I did my homework and the car had already sold itself. After laying all the cards out on the table and getting manager to quote my trade in it was time to talk turkey. He asked me what I wanted to pay and made that happen. He factored in the factory promotions going on, my trade in, and suggested I put down the insurance money I would have used to fix my trade-in's side swipe damage. It was always a conversation, never a lecture. As a person who doesn't do well with confrontation, I really appreciated that. Keep in mind, this was all at 7:30 PM on a Saturday night. Props for that kind of patience.We agreed on the price, and I put down the deposit for them to secure the car if they could find one. If they couldn't by the end of the week they'd return it to me no problem. The wait began. Ron and his team scoured the northeast for my car and were able to find one by Wednesday evening. They could have done it sooner, but I was stubborn and wouldn't budge on the color. I gave in and for the better. Black looks much better in person. Ron was very patient with me through the process even though I was texting him for updates. Once the car was back to Medford it took them less than a day from when I got in to sign the papers to when they handed me the key to a licensed, insured and state inspected car with a full tank of gas (also running with the AC on 15 minutes before I arrived). He even helped me remove the parking permit sticker that I had to return to the City of Boston. At this point I'd like to include one honorary mention. Kaser from finance friendly and informative throughout the entire process. Was never impatient and helpful/genuine about explaining various plans I could add on to make sure VW didn't charge me for damage when the lease ended. He bundled a couple things that will probably be necessary with street parking and MA potholes. Again, I kept another employee 20 minutes after closing and he acted as though it were still 2 PM. Nothing rushed. Overall an amazing experience from Ron and his team. Would recommend to anyone. They treated me like an old friend and were all about the followthrough. I hope I won't have to see them for another 10,000 miles, but if I do I won't exactly be upset about it.

This past week I went to Colonial VW of Medford repair my old car, but instead drove away in a new car and couldn't be happier. Long story short, my car needed extensive repairs so I decided to explore my options, which included meeting with Greg Cohen. After chatting for only a few minutes he suggested a couple of cars, which I took for test-drives while my old car was getting diagnosed in the Service Department. Meeting Greg was time most well spent that I can remember. He is a great listener, no-pressure, knowledgeable, friendly, and one of the easiest people to get along with I have had the pleasure of meeting thus far. I never felt comfortable walking into any other car dealership regardless of the reason. At Colonial VW of Medford I felt welcomed and free to look around, talk with anyone, and sit in any car. Never felt a drop of pressure, which is why I was bringing my car there for repairs. These guys are the best! I arrived on a Saturday morning around 9:30 to trade in my previous car and lease a new Passat. Between the running around (literally) done by Greg and the professionalism of Ken Cataldo, the GM, to the finance mgr.every possible effort was made to make it all happen within my 3 hr. time frame and that's just what they did. Evaluating my vehicle was agreeable and fair, all the paperwork, cleaning the new vehicle, giving me a free fill-up, free pizza, etc. All I can say is you will not find a group of folks more committed to putting you in the vehicle of your choice anywhere in the Boston area.

When I walked into the dealership I wasn't too thrilled that the person I had been corresponding with via e-mail passed me off onto another sales person and didn't prepare for my scheduled appointment when I was very specific with what car I was interested in but thankfully I was passed into the better hands of Caduste. Caduste was fantastic to do business with- he was professional, polite, he minimized the haggling and was very prompt when responding to questions via text. He was very transparent with the status of the car, always providing updates. He even brought the car to a different service center to get inspected because their machine was not functioning and he didn't want me worrying about that. I will definitely consider purchasing a car from Caduste again.

I called Greg Cohen on Saturday afternoon when my light came on in my car about fluild being low in the engine. Greg advised me to bring my car in at 12n on Sunday when he would be at the dealership and would be glad to put the fluid into my car. I showed up at 12n and Greg couldn't have been more helpful. There used to be a time in my life where I believed I would never own a nice car. I thought to myself "Oh, I'm just going to have lower end vehicles all my life, and that's okay". That is, of course, until I went to Colonial Volkswagen and dealt with James Pelham and Jason Bradley. On the day I was in the dealership, there was a man buying a car, and he was showing off some card tricks while he waited. Though a magical sight to behold, this isn't magic. What Jason and James did for me is the true magic. I walked in on a Friday, and left on a Saturday with my new vehicle. I was able to finance a 2012 Nissan Maxima (used of course, but gosh is it beautiful), at an amazing rate thanks to the efforts of these two men and this dealership. As long as I live, and/or as long as these two men are still selling vehicles, no matter the dealership, I don't think I would be able to go anywhere else. I would recommend this dealership, and the people that work there 10/10 times to anyone, anywhere and at anytime.

I've dealt with Greg Cohen in Sales on two separate occasions and have had nothing but positive experiences. I highly recommend this location, but specifically Greg Cohen!Last year my Mother decided she wanted to buy a new car (which for her means a ~3 year old car usually off a lease). I had been driving a leased 2012 Jetta SE that I got from Boston Volkswagen in Watertown (not a great experience there) and decided I wanted my Mom to have a good, safe car. So I called Colonial Volkswagen in Medford for their help in doing the paperwork for having my Mom purchase my car off the lease. Greg took fantastic care of her and the experience went very smoothly and exactly as promised.About a year later I decided I wanted to trade in my Mom's old car and upgrade to a new car. I spent many months researching, test driving, visiting other dealerships, etc... What I found was most of the dealerships I went to used the same tired sales tactics: high pressure, disappearing with keys during appraisal, bait and switch, etc... I also found out all I wanted was another Jetta. So I called Greg at Colonial VW just to get him to run some numbers with me over the phone (I had grown tired of going to dealerships due to the aforementioned reasons). Greg ran some numbers, called me back, and we were in the ballpark of what I was looking for. He also quietly suggested that I come in and take a test drive of the new 2014 Jetta with the new engine spec, electromechanical steering, etc...I called him a day or two later and scheduled to come in later in the evening for that test drive. I got there and sat down with him where he asked what I was looking for. We went out to the lot to look at some different trims. No pressure at all, he took a copy of my license got a plate and some keys. We sat in the car and he showed me what had changed...he then told me to drop him off at the front door and sent me out on the road by myself to test out the new Jetta. I've been to many dealerships before and never had the pleasure of a test drive to myself. I came back, told him I needed to think about it and he was completely understanding. Didn't try to stop me, didn't try to have me put down a deposit. Even had the GM come over before I left and say hello. Scott (the GM) was equally low pressure and just wanted to help however he could.The next day I went to get back a deposit I had made at a high pressure car dealership just so that I could leave. They tried throwing everything at me to not get my deposit back. So I called Scott (as Greg was out of the office) and bluntly told him what I was offered at the other dealership (for a different make & model) and where I wanted to be with the Jetta. He told me he'd make it happen and that Greg would call on his next day in. Greg called as promised and I made an appointment to see him. I must have asked him 50 questions and he patiently answered them all. Never did I feel like I was being rushed or wasting his time. When I decided to purchase he stayed equally as attentive and responsive to calls (to his personal cell phone) or emails over the next couple days. The car came in, he had it detailed and personally met me to show me around the interior again. He even helped me move things out of my old trunk, to the trunk of my new car...in the rain! I'm still not a fan of car dealerships, or car salesmen. But Greg Cohen is of a different mold. He is up front, transparent. He says what he means and means what he says. They say making it in life is all about who you know. Well I know I have a trustworthy "car guy" and that's saying a lot. I look forward to the next 2+ years of my lease, and would absolutely purchase or lease another car from Greg in the future.

He listened to what I was looking for in a car, and even when I decided to go with a used Honda Accord that was on the lot instead of a Volkswagen, Mike was understanding. All of us have had bad car buying experiences and I really was not looking forward to purchasing a vehicle from a dealer because of past experiences. While looking for a small used pickup truck in the Boston area, I found one at Colonial Volkswagen. Mike Kingsley was my salesman and was immediately friendly, not overbearing or high pressure. We took the truck for drive and I was interested but felt for the year it was a bit overpriced. Without me even asking, Mike agreed to replace the tires as they were fairly worn. Then he indicated that the dealer would do a complete go over on the vehicle, which they did, and fix anything that was not working properly. When it came to the bantering for the price, which to me is the absolutely most dreadful part of buying a car, Mike asked what I thought would be a fair price. I made and offer and they accepted. No back and forth at all! Thank you! They serviced the truck, replaced the tires, recharged the AC, changed the oil and topped off fluids. When I picked it up the vehicle had been completely detailed! This 17 year old truck looked almost new. Without a doubt I will purchase my next vehicle from Colonial (and Mike). Customer service is truly valued at this dealership.

I searched online for several weeks for an older but great condition used 4x4 pickup in New England. Colonial popped up one day with a low price so I read some online reviews of the dealership and decided to check them out. I'm out of state and they handled almost everything over the phone including final price. I have bought many new cars over the years, VW's, Toyota, BMW, Acura, Jeep, Honda, Nissan etc.. Like many others my experiences have been good and not so good. I actually enjoy the new car pursuit but I don't have the interest or the energy for lots of sales noise and BS. Working with Steve Gill at Colonial was a pleasure. Steve is polite and yet direct. There was no nonsense and no games. Steve is knowledgeable of his product and communicates clearly and concisely how the product works and unlike others he goes beyond and provides some insight into why certain features are configured in specific ways. What I especially like about Steve is that he listens, takes notes and then follows up as discussed. That showed me that he was willing to work for my business.Steve made it immediately clear that as a "local" getting my business was important to the dealership. This may sound like some car salesman's line but when the deal negotiations "hit the wall", and they did, Steve fought for my business and earned it.When I came to pick up my Jetta Sportswagen TDI Steve went through all the essential features and configuration settings but also the little details, the things you would only find buried deep in the manual. I may not remembered it all but I will remember that Steve showed this to me and I'll know there is a solution somewhere in the manual. Or maybe I will just call him and ask.On Monday night I drove away at 8:00 PM with my iPhone paired, my radio rocking and my Nav leading.

Four weeks ago, Jason left a message with me inquiring about my 2011 Jetta TDI to see if I was interested in a trade. When I finally got back to him, he was prompt and polite in explaining the dealership's interest in my vehicle. I had been contemplating a refinance of my payments, as well as moving away from the diesel price premium, not to mention I was reaching the end of my original warrantee. I agreed to bring my TDI in for an appraisal and take a look at the options they had on the lot. As with my previous buying experience with Colonial VW, Rob Cherubino helped me through the process with the characteristic no-pressure high-professionalism approach that marks that store. Going in, I was concerned the deal would require purchasing new stock or some other premium vehicle, but there was no such expectation on their part. They wanted my car, and if I wanted to take the money and walk, that was okay, or they would carry through with a good offer on a used vehicle. After some consideration I ended up buying a certified pre-owned 2012 Jetta 2.5 SE with fewer miles than my trade-in, an extended warrantee, and improved audio system, along with all the other goodies I grew accustomed to as a VW driver. While a buyer could conceivably find a slightly better price somewhere in the universe for the deal, I feel the transaction was incredibly fair and above-board throughout the process. Plus, I have the piece of mind that no matter what might come up through the next few years, I feel not just like a customer of this team, but a client.

We went to Colonial VW on Monday night (after the Presidents weekend) during the snowstorm to look at pre-owned vehicles. Ryan Hawkins (salesman) was exceptional by greeting us when we arrived to helping us trading in our 2011 Honda to purchasing a 2013 pre-owned Passat. The purchase price was well below the price offered at another dealership for the same vehicle but a different color. All the sales staff including the finance manager Chris were excellent. We strongly recommend visiting this dealership first when considering either a new, old or pre-owned vehicle of any make or model.

As a first time new car lessee I could not have asked for a better experience than I had at Colonial VW of Medford. Never having gone through the new car from the dealer process I was reluctant to get started. I did a little homework on line and then met with James Pelham at Colonial VW. James is a peach. He was patient with all of my questions and used lay terms vs. car jargon when explaining everything from lease agreement details to functional attributes of the car itself. He is friendly and helpful with a good sense of humor. I found a genuine personality goes a long way in selling a car (read: no BS). After making the initial decision to go forward with the lease the rest of the process could not have been easier or more efficient and I am now the very happy lessee of a brand new black VW golf! Every person I encountered at Colonial from sales to finance was great. The one thing they need to improve is getting some type of shade/window covering for the glass window in the showroom. When the sun is out its blinding inside and has the potential to overheat customers even when its 23 degrees outside, this makes sitting and negotiating for an extended period of time less than ideal. I told the sales guys Id mention it on their behalf too. Otherwise my time at Colonial VW of Medford made for the perfect car buying experience.

I leased a Golf from Colonial VW Medford, working with George, Jason and Chris and the whole process was great. I put this review on Yelp first, because there are a lot more negative comments there, but I also wanted to put it here as I looked here before going in.I went in knowing that I wanted a Golf after having done a test drive previously. I'd spent a bit of time before I came in looking at different feature options on VW.com and had also gone over what was on edmunds.com and other dealer sites to get a sense of what I thought the car would go for. This helped a lot with both negotiating for a good price and knowing when I had gotten a good price, so I highly recommend doing this research for your own peace of mind.I also went in knowing that my issues were going to be with finance and car insurance: as an Australian expat coming to the US with no credit score, it's a huge hassle to find out that you are treated like a delinquent 18-year-old when it comes to getting credit and car insurance. I had one quote online for insurance at $10,000 for twelve months! I had also been told that registering a car on a foreign license would take weeks. And I'd been looking at paying in excess of 9% APR for lease finance.So you can imagine how happy I was when Chris was able to get me approved with the VW dealer finance program for foreign professionals at a low APR, and George and Jason not only got me a good price on the car but also helped find a good insurance plan at a fraction of the online quotes I was getting, and all up managed to get me into a car and on the road in less than 72 hours of first turning up in the showroom.Overall the sales environment was comfortable and considerate and I really felt the guys went above and beyond to make this work out.

My experience is very different than most - I had a brand new 2014 Sportwagnen S totaled due to a unfortunate accident. It had 1,300 miles on it! The car held together well and everyone was safe. I needed a replacement fast and Colonial had one of the few with a manual transmission.Colonial and its quality sales staff was able meet my needs at a price that also met my needs and deliver the car with financing quickly in less than one day.Bill , Jason and Chris all worked with me to make it happen.

When I went to look at the 2012 Volkswagen Beetle, Bill Burns greeted me with a smile, explained some of the features of the car, and got me on my test drive. With a friendly and casual manner, he walked me through the buying process. I felt very at ease purchasing the vehicle. It has been the best new car experience of my life. Tim jumped through hoops, including driving to Rhode Island on his day off to get a stamp needed from my Geico Insurance company, all so I could keep my Army Veteran Plates. I was leasing and traded in my car for the deal. The first time I leased a car, in 2002, I lost my veteran plates because the Salesman I worked with then (another dealership) couldn't be bothered and didn't even try to let me keep my plates. I was so disappointed back then. It made working with Tim at Colonial so much sweeter. I have bought the exact car I asked to test drive and am throughly pleased from head to my little toe. Jason (Sales Manager) and Derek (Finance Manager) helped seal the deal with their competence and attention to detail. I love Colonial Sales. I throughly adore my new 2014 Golf TDI (diesel) and I already know how awesome the service department is, since I used them with other Volkswagon's I've owned. This is my 4th new VW since 1987 and the most fun to one to drive yet. Go Colonial - your employees do it right!

He helped me set up the bluetooth in my car, volunteered to take me personally to introduce the body shop and was amazingly helpful and patient. I worked with Sean O'Conner. He was just great, he didn't waste my time. He was very knowledgeable, friendly and personable. Sean really listened to what was important to me and narrowed down the selection to exactly what I wanted. Then we went on a test drive and really put the car through all the paces, it cornered well and had the pick up speed I need to get around those trucks on the highway. Sean took the time to explain each feature to my satisfaction. When it came time to do business, Sean really made sure I was comfortable with each and every detail. Then Sean introduced me to Chris Ployer, the nicest finance guy around. After a painless process, I had the car that I wanted at a great price. Then Sean spoke with me again just to make sure that I was happy with how everything went. I would definately go back to this dealership again, and I would recommend them to family and friends. I went into VW of Medford to test drive a Jetta after a long day of visiting other dealerships in search of a good ecomomy car. I was greeted by Sean OConnor. Sean was a very helpfull young man and a straight shooter from the start. I was pleasantly suprised after getting beat up all day at other dealerships, and leaving with a bad taste in my mouth. I was contemplating wether to buy a Honda Civic or a Toyota Corolla until I drove the Jetta. Jetta was a much smoother, safer ride all together with better options on there base model. Sean did a great job of showing me all the different aspects of the car and explaining the safety features. I told him where I needed to be with my trade in, and he made it happen. Overall it was a good experience, and I highly recomend dealing with Colonial VW, and Sean OConnor.

I had never been to Colonial before, but read reviews and that is how I made my choice. I was not disappointed in any way. I was met by the very cheerful Bill Burns. He was helpful in explaining and showing me everything about the Tiguans. Bill was fair and not pushy at all. I feel I was given a fair trade- in on a 10 year old Passat wagon with 107,000 miles on it and discount on the new car. Bill got the car the next day from their Wellsley store. When I arrived to pick it up, he walked me through everything. I left Colonial feeling confidant about my new Tiguan.Bill has even called and emailed me already and I have only had the car 3 days. This is the only dealer I have been to (and I've done business with almost all the major chains in Mass!) where the experience was relaxing and enjoyable. My wife and I had been getting our VW Beetle serviced at Colonial VW of Medford for a few years - Colonial went above and beyond and in the service arena, so when the new Beetle convertible came out in 2013, we knew we wanted to get one from Colonial.We went in knowing exactly what we wanted and what we thought was a fair price for it. Dana didn't pull any of the typical salesperson garbage, we talked about option packages, checked out a few cars that were on the lot, and decided to locate the exact car we wanted - which did include a package we hadn't intended on, so maybe Dana was working a little salespersons mojo.Dana found our car, then on a boat, arranged a dealer swap and clear bra install, and we were golden.Dana was just as picky as me when it came to that clear bra install, actually not letting me take the car home, because HE wasn't happy with the clear bra install - nor was I, but I didn't know that until after he showed it to me. I like it when a salesperson has a commitment to their customer's like that. A few days later the clear bra was re-installed properly, and we had our new toy. We've had it for about 6 months now, and it's been great. No problems. And purchasing from Colonial VW was one of the best automotive transactions we've had.

I could not be happier with the whole process. They were nice and understanding from the very first contact i had with them and they gave me a price that was far better than any other dealer. That was not the only reason I went with them for my new car, i also was very happy and satisfied with the helpfulness and treatment i got. I mainly dealt with Jasson McNallie who not only got me the car i liked for the price, but also put in the extra effort to get me out of a lease that, let's just say, was a project on its own. One of the other pleasures of dealing with Jasson was the constant communication and updates. He always called to let me know the status and what the progress was. I decided to go to Colonial for a test drive based on the reviews here and I was not disappointed. The great deal on my new Jetta helped get me in the door too. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by Ryan and Jason and in just a few moments we were out on a test drive. They had the car waiting for me so there was no waiting around, something I appreciate since I work third shift and had just knocked off work that morning. Ryan worked with me on my trade and was able to come up with figures I liked almost immediately, I was fully expecting to have to haggle a lot more than that! I bought the car on the spot and couldn't be happier with it. I really have to commend Ryan for his patience and perseverance, he went above and beyond dealing with my less-than-stellar insurance company to make sure I could take the car home that day even though I was expecting to have to come back to receive delivery. When it came to the paperwork Chris was awesome. He explained everything to me and showed me exactly what I was signing for. I cannot speak highly enough of the staff at Colonial. Friendly, attentive, honest, I will definitely be back and will be sending my friends.

My husband and I knew that we wanted a Volkswagon and decided to visit Colonial after reading the exceptional reviews on their website. The night we went we were greeted by Ryan Hawkins. We told him we wanted to test drive some cars. He looked frazzled and explained there where no sales people available because they were short handed but offered us a drink and seats. He came back to us promptly and helped us around and answered our questions. Frankly he was so warm and welcoming that even after looking at some other cars , we came back and asked for him. He was so professional and even sent me a thank you card in the mail. When we went to fill out the paperwork , the Sales manager was delightful. We came to pick up our brand new 2014 Jetta and Ryan went through every feature thoroughly with us. He was so patient and everyone pitched in to make our experience a memorable one. I highly recommend Colonial Volkswagon. We have had emails since getting the car to remind us of our first service visit and to answer any questions we may have. They are a Class Act.

I went in to Colonial in Medford a few months ago when my friend bought a car. She got a good deal, but wasn't happy with her salesman (Shaun), and I agree. He fits the description of what you think of as a 'typical' car salesman - he came back with an offer and seemed upset that she wasn't going to buy the car that day. Once he realized she wasn't buying the car, he got impatient. She did buy the car a week later but only because Colonial had the color and model she wanted, which supposably wasn't available anywhere else in the area (they told her that, but she called and visited a number of other dealers to check anyway. There was another dealer that had the car she was looking for but they gave her a higher price.). When I was ready to buy my Volkswagon, I went back to Colonial. I was approached by Shaun - I lied and said I already had an appointment with someone else, and Steve was at the next desk, so I went there. I told Steve we spoke on the phone - and he was happy to help me. Steve answered all my questions, and I ended up buying a car from Steve that was from their used cars since it fit my budget. He answered all my questions. He acted like he was working to get the best deal for me, instead of the best deal for him or his company. Maybe Shaun treats all his custmoers that way, but not me - I don't accept that kind of treatment from anyone and neither should you. So, go to Colonial for a fair deal, but choose your salesman carefully.

My service consultant John Zych at Colonial VW of Medford explained the work to be performed on my vehicle and related charges prior to performing the work in full detail and without any issues. I received multiple updates and notices throughout the day explaining a step-by-step analysis as promised, in full detail and with a clear understanding. Everything that needed to be repaired or replaced was still covered under my warranty and was replaced without any questions, issues or concerns. Colonial VW of Medford took the short, necessary time to complete the repairs on my vehicle which exceeded my full expectations. I was able to find a parking spot every time I entered the dealerships lot. There was plenty of seating and amenities for customers and the cleanliness of the waiting area was beyond superb. I would more than likely recommend Colonial VW of Medford to my close family, friends or colleagues based upon my past experience in the Service Department particularly with John Zych and Leo Felipe. I was very pleased with the overall customer service and communication from this dealership. The Colonial VW of Medford Service Department truly went above and beyond my expectations as a customer and I can now say I wouldn't go anywhere else to service my vehicle.

Last week my wife and I decided we needed to retire the ol' 99 Land Rover Discovery. Once something of great beauty, it had devolved into a malfunctioning disaster. Everything was broken, especially my wife's heart. She had purchased this car upon graduating high school and cared for it enormously. But everything has it's time, and she resolved to get something new. We found Colonial Volkswagen online and traveled to Medford to check out a 2013 VW Tiguan SE. The SE was awesome. And so was our salesman, Bill Burns. He was informative, relaxed, and just a terrific guy to do business with. Having never leased a vehicle before, Bill was able to walk us through the entire process and make it easy for us. I can't help but chuckle when I think about how much things have improved for my wife and I in the past week. Functioning breaks, air conditioning, better gas mileage than a tractor; all thanks to our new car. The other day looking out the window at our new 2013 VW Tiguan SE, I smiled at the car. And you know what? I think just maybe it smiled back.

Bills Burns is a great salesperson. He told me the advantages of buying a volkswagon and some disadvantages, such as he doesn't recommend an automatic start because volkswagon's wiring is so intricut and is complicated to install, which tells me that he is honest and doesnt want me to somehow be unhappy in the future with my purchase I did not feel pressured at all. He did not call me twice a day like other dealerships did, in fact I think I was the one calling him asking questions and he was very knowledgeable. We also shared some personal stories and kept the conversation light. Bill is easy-going, friendly salesperson. He lets volkswagons sell themselves. I loved my experience at Colonial Volkswagon, and I hope to see Bill there during my oil changes. Love, Mighty Nurse 1 :)

Initially I started working with Greg Cohen to return my leased vehicle and possibly lease a new vehicle. He continued to say he was trying to "help me out" but in fact was charging me a rediculous amount of money for the damage to my lease as well as giving me a poor deal on a new lease. He moved the same figures around in different configurations and was not up front about the cost of my lease damage. I decided to buy and returned to the dealership asking about new monthly APR specials of which he reported there were none. Once I did some research I found that there were in fact APR incentives on the vehicle I was interested in. At this point I was moved to working with Jason. Jason Giacoppo was even more aggressive and rude than Greg Cohen. He was completely dishonest on multiple occassions - although asserting that he was very upfront and honest. At one point he said he would take me to a body shop to prove the cost of my damage and after working this into my weekend schedule, told me that would not be possible that day. I still planned to come in to discuss their best offer on the new car and when I told Jason I would be comparing his price to another dealerships offer he refused to meet with me or give me a quote. I have not been treated so disrespectfully in my life and I will tell everyone not to go to Collonial VW of Medford. I am quite thankful that this all happened in the long run. I was able to get a fair deal on my trade and good price and apr at Minuteman VW of Bedford. They all were respectful, polite and fair. It is a shame that dealerships treat buyers so poorly at times.

I knew I wanted a 2013 Jetta TDI as I've been looking into VW's TDI models over the past several years, and I knew exactly what I should pay for it. From the beginning, Mike was very honest and up-front about the pricing and I was given a very fair deal. I'm very happy with my car and felt the buying experience was very open and relaxed. I cannot rate this place low enough. Do yourself a favor and do NOT even consider this place an option. I took my 2003 Volkswagen Golf TDI to be serviced because the check engine light came on. After a thorough discussion of my options, they told me that the proper fix would be $1,100. On my way home, the check engine light came back on. I took it back the next day, they "fixed" it and a few days later the light came back on. After a third visit, they told me that it was going to be another $2,800 to fix it! To make a long story short, my check engine light is STILL on, and I am out $1,100!!! I took it to a dealership because I figured they would know better than anyone how to fix it but I got SCREWED. These people DON'T know what they are doing and they should NOT be fixing cars. I cannot speak for the sales department but I would steer clear of this place!

I was looking for a car and stumbled upon this dealer on Mystic Ave. I saw the VW and figured I would give German engineering a shot - the Germans are the best after all, right? But really, I don't know that much about cars. I walked into the showroom, checked a few models, before being approaching by GREG COHEN.He asked me whether I was being helped, what I needed, and so on. I said, I need education. Well, he said, I can certainly provide that. And provide that, he did. Greg was a very informative salesperson. He knew how to explain things in such a way that did not tax my technical understanding and allowed me to gradually adapt to the automotive lingo. Greg was very friendly and made sure I was comfortable before getting into the details of the sale, the numbers, the terms, etc. For example, he offered me coffee and took his time explaining all the features.He did not want to bore me with technical details. He wanted to give me all the information I needed to make an informed decision. He wasn't just trying to make a sale, he was trying to teach me as a person.I haven't decided what to do yet. The VW's have a bit more functionality than I really need as a driver at this point, so not sure I want to fork out the money for these features. But all the cars I test drove felt great. And all things being equal, I would not hesitate to do business with GREG COHEN.

I emailed through Cars.com, and Jason was quick to respond, and unlike many of the other dealerships did not continue emailing/calling every day after I responded to his initial email. I set up a test drive, and Bill was knowledgeable, friendly, and straightforward. I ended up financing with Derek, who was also incredibly friendly and took me through every step of the process. The whole purchase process could not have gone more smoothly, and the car is wonderful! Very fair price for both the 2009 Jetta I went home with and the car I traded in to get it. I can't say enough good things about my experience.

I have been going to Colonial VW of Medford for several years for service on my '04 Passat after stumbling upon them when I had an issue with Boston VW. The service department has always been great, and the fact that they have a shuttle to a number of different T stations is a big bonus. There are also always coupons on their website for service and repairs, so I have saved a ton of money.When my Passat died last Saturday (drowned in a puddle on Storrow Drive), I decided to check out the sales department. Sean was extremely helpful. I told him what I wanted and the payment that I was looking for and we got within $14 dollars a month. Extremely satisfied, plus my new Passat is awesome. I couldn't recommend them more.

Just traded in my Pontiac for a SportWagen. I began the process via email inquiry, and dealt with Steve Gill. He answered my questions in a professional manner, and I came in to start the ball rolling on the trade. He's knowledgable and enthusiastic about VW products, and drives one himself. We worked a bit to balance selling price vs trade-in value. It wasn't the deal of the century, but it was pretty fair, considering I was trading in a convertible with winter coming, for a desirable 40+ mpg diesel wagon with a stick. He even came in the evening of his day off (and I'm assuming salespeople here only get one day off per week) to finalize the deal, and didn't seem the least bit put out by having to do so. The only slightly negative part for me was sitting through the always uncomfortable "add-ons speech" that seems to be mandatory when buying a new car (I'm talking about the dreaded SIMONIZING, and all the other doodads you can purchase yourself if you really want them for much much less). But this came from the financing department, not Steve.Interestingly, I had purchased my Pontiac from Colonial in Watertown a few years ago and had a relaxed, painless experience there as well.

I wanted to buy my new VW here because the dealership is close to my house, however, after multiple phone calls, I couldn't get Greg to call me back. In our last phone call I was asking about how much the car would cost, and he couldn't even tell me. He never called me back. I went to Commonwealth VW and bought my car there. They were fabulous. I'm not sure if Greg is disorganized or just didn't want to sell me a car, but I wouldn't recommend shopping here.

I walked into the dealership on Friday August 24,2012 and a very nice young man greeted me. There was no pressure, which I really loved. The young man intrduced himself as Sean O'Connor. Sean had a wonderful happy aire about him and a beautiful smile. He was knowledgeable and helpful He answered all of our questions with ease.I purchased a 2013 VW Passat SE. I absolutly love the car. I was in the market for my first new car when I came across the new Passat in a commercial on TV. I went to Colonial VW of Medford initially just to test drive some vehicles because it was the closest VW dealer to my house in Boston. After speaking with Jason Giacoppo through e-mail and promptly scheduling a test drive, he handed me to Rob Cherubino so a salesman could show me the ins and outs of the vehicle. Rob was very knowledgeable and accomodating, offering his personal number for appointments and questions I might have. This is a very big purchase, and I didn't want to rush anything, so i went back for a couple more test drives and discussions about options, trims, and pricing.As new buyer, I did as much research as possible to make sure that this was the right decision. The Medford staff seemed like more of a close-knit unit than I was originally anticipating. Everyone that I met there was selfless and focused on giving each customer the satisfaction that they expect from such an important decision. Through exceptional customer service and allowing me the freedom and time I needed to go through with my conclusion, I'm very glad that I went to Colonial and would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking to drive a German engineered, American manufactured Passat.

I worked with Rob C. and had nothing short of a fabulous experience here. I went back three times to test drive the Passat and the Jetta and he never got frustrated with my inability to make a decision! Ultimately, I chose to lease a 2012 Jetta SE based on the lease payment price. Rob and Anna worked with me relentlessly to get my payment to a price that I was comfortable with. Not once did I feel pressured to sign papers, cut my 15-20 min test drives short (although if I had wanted to take a shorter route it would have completely been my decision), or feel rushed out of the dealership because they had closed 20 minutes ago. Even though Rob is one of the younger salesman that I met with in all of the dealerships I went to (Herb Chambers of Burlington, another Honda dealer, and a Nissan dealer in Medford) he blew the others out of the water in terms of customer satisfaction, politeness, knowledge of any VW vehicle (other salesman I worked with couldn't even tell me if the back seat folded down and they expected to win me over?), and pretty much anything else I asked. Rob follows up with phone calls or text messages, carries himself well and respects those that he works with, and isn't pushy - which is what won me over in the end. I'd recommend this VW dealer to anyone who's looking - a fabulous experience for something that is normally so stressful!

I would like to strat off by saying that out of all the various makes and models of cars i've owned this by far has been the most pleasant and easy going. Rob is an extremely knowledgable salesman and is an all around great guy. I was very impressed about every single detail Rob was aware of from my GTI, how it compared to other vehicles, the vehicle safety features, it was a really good experience talking to someone who represents their product so well. Well mannered and professional are two words that stick out for Robbie, he has a bright future ahead of him and has a good head on his shoulders. Salesman like him are truly one and a million and am glad he helped me choose this fantastic little car. The individuals I worked with were genuine, and passionate about their job.Jason, the internet sales manager, was very attentive to my initial needs, and found me a car that suited my needs. He then referred me Greg Cohen, the sales consultant.Greg took me out for a test drive, and detailed the various features of the car displaying expertise and passion about autos. Not once did I feel pressured to buy the car. Greg informed me of Colonial's large inventory of cars (thanks to their 2 sister dealerships), and let me know that my car would be available within 2 days.When I came back to finalize the purchase, Greg took me out for a second test drive (this time with my car), again answering all my questions with genuine enthusiasm. We negotiated a deal that included a trade-in without the typical back-and-forth gimmick with the sales manager. Greg was honest about what he could offer, and we came to a agreement within 5-10 minutes. To sum it up, this was an exceptional car-buying experience that I would recommend for anyone buying a car !

I have now bought 2 cars from Colonial. The first was a New Beetle in 2008 . I had all my scheduled maintenance done there, and was very happy with the service. I also had a couple of minor issues which were covered by warranty (power windows weren't working correctly) and they fixed everything in a timely and friendly manner. Hours ago I bought my second car from them and am also satisfied with the experience. Al Abramson was my salesman, and he was very friendly, not high pressure (I actually had to tell him I wanted to buy the car instead of him trying to force it on me) and if I asked a question he didn't know the answer to, he asked someone who could answer it. The four out of five stars is for the normal annoying buying-a-new-car dance, and not for anything I'm specifically angry about. I've had some terrible experiences with car dealers (Going to Commonwealth Volkswagen in 2008 was like a visit to hell.) but Colonial is not one of them, and I would recommend them and Al specifically to anyone looking to buy a VW.

My husband and I have never purchased a car from a dealer before, so we were nervous about being ripped off or being pressured to purchase before we were ready. We kept waiting for the pressure to come, but it never did. We wanted a hybrid and shopped online for a Toyota Camry Hybrid before deciding that Colonial (by far) had the best price on the model we wanted. We worked primarily with Jason Giacoppo and Al Abramson. Anna, the finance manager gave us equally excellent service for the financing component.Jason was responsive through both phone and email. He put us at ease and gave us time to consider our purchase before proceeding forward. When we test drove the car, Al allowed us to drive on our own, so we could talk openly about what we liked and didnt like. He offered us alternatives that they had in stock. I had researched the car and the dealership prior to stopping in, so I was able to ask educated questions. Al has a ton of experience with a variety of car makes, so he was able to answer all our Toyota questions, even working at VW. Even after he had closed the deal, he explained all the bells and whistles in the car, filled it up with gas and got us an inspection sticker! Anna was able to match the great rate we had secured through an outside bank, so we decided to finance the purchase with Colonial.We left Colonial VW feeling like we made a great purchase, rather than feeling guilty and pressured. Well definitely be back in a few years when it comes time to replace our other vehicle.

Thanks to the friendly and service oriented staff at Colonial VW of Medford I had a refreshing experience compared to many other high pressure dealerships. The assistance Al Abramson offered was impressive. I felt no pressure and enjoyed all the conversation and generous information Al provided during multiple test-drives. Pleasant, easy, quick experience. Got a new Golf on a lease, got the lease worked out in just a couple of hours, and Al, our dealer, was cool enough to drive us back and forth to the Medford dealership to finalize the papers. Then he delivered our car to us the next day, which was just really helpful but also an exciting way to get your new car -- which almost offset the economic pain of buying a new car.

Unfortunately for me I was diagnosed with Parkinsons disease this past June. Unpredictably, it will rear its ugly head when least expected. Such was the case a few Saturdays ago when, exiting my car, I went down liked a leaded sack of potatoes (Frozen Right Side Syndrome of PD). With my jaw and chin bleeding badly (16 stitches were eventually used) two individuals, people of superior character, came to my assistance: Adam, the great service writer, and one of the salesmen, Michael Dino, who went so far as to remove himself from the floor (and an opportunity to sell a car) and drive me to the ER at Mass Memorial. My sense of gratitude to these two gentlemen defies my ability to express in simple words. For years to come, I will never forget the goodness and concern shown to me that morning. Finally, I truly believe (just my little ole opinion) that car sales are based on two things, namely: the quality of the product itselfand I have never owned any other car then a VW, and Im old--and the quality of the character assisting you. I too have been meaning too write a review and I never write reviews but in this case I want to scream from the rooftops to anyone who can hear me to not go anywhere else if you're looking for a new or used car. Go straight to Colonial VW and make sure you see Anna. She is the most honest, professional and knowledgeable person I've ever met in a car dealership. I've purchased at least eight cars over the last 30 years and have helped many friends shop so I know what I'm talking about. This time I was worried because of the economy and my mortgage being modified, I have some credit issues. That was never a problem for me before. I was embarrassed to start with and it didn't help when several dealerships I visited couldn't or wouldn't help me. Everywhere I went, as soon as I mentioned my credit concerns I was treated differently. I was told by one dealer, I could only get approved if bought one particular car. It was an old looking Chevrolet Malibu with dents all over it and a funny sounding motor. I asked why I couldn't look at others in the same price range and was told thats the only one the bank would approve me for. this was BEFORE i had even given them my social or any credit info. (Found out later they were asking $5000 over book value which is clearly why he wanted to sell it to me) Needless to say I left that store. I think sales people must think if you have problems that they can make more money. I was discouraged and waited a month before looking again. Next stop was just as discouraging only this time, the salesman was nice to me because I didn't mention any of my issues upfront. When I agreed to buy the car and talked to the manager, he treated me like a criminal. Lectured me about my credit score and said if I was lucky I could get 21% if I had half the price as a downpayment. Told me I needed to pay more for the car and the bank required me to add all kinds of things to the loan like credit protection and warranties etc.. Otherwise, I couldn't get approved he said. I wasn't born yesterday. I asked him to show me where it said that. He quickly changed the subject and basically implied it wasn't relevant since I wasn't even approved yet anyway. I felt like he was rubbing it in. Obviously I didn't end up buying the car. After several more failed attempts I had given up. Decided to buy a cheap car and drive it for a few years until my credit improved. I ran into an old friend in a parking lot and by sheer luck I found out about Colonial VW. My friend had just bought a beautiful new Jetta and was showing it to me. I had never considered VW before but the cars are amazing! She told me before I completely give up to go and see Anna at Colonial VW. She said Anna in finance was really nice and helpful and that at the very least I could get advice about my credit. She recommended the dealership highly and said everyone that worked there was nice. I made an appointment with her from my friends phone in the parking lot. Thank god I did that! What a big difference! She was really nice and cared about what I wanted. She didn't judge and assured me that there are a lot of people right now in my exact same situation. She asked me to give an example of a dream car and dream payment and then to tell her the things I had to have. All I really cared about was a Jetta with a sunroof, but it would be awesome to have other options like leather and a nice radio. During the 20 minutes we were talking she was working on her computer sending my credit to banks she knew. To my shock after she made a few phone calls she said, congratulations, you got approved and the rate isn't too high so you can even have the one with the leather and sunroof and be in a lower payment! I couldn't believe my ears! I picked out my car and the next day I took it home! I can't even tell you how happy I am and how different Colonial VW is! Especially if you have any credit issues, don't go anywhere else! The service department is also excellent. I have gone for one free oil change so far and it went very smoothly.

We purchased our car from Greg, it was our best car buying experience ever and it's the way all car buying should be. I took my car in for it's first service (no problems with car) and, imagine my surprise, when I was actually greeted by Tom when I went into the service department! He asked me some questions, noted what I had to say and said the car would be done within the hour (I was waiting). While I was in the waiting area both Greg and Tom came in, at different times, to let me know that the car would be done shortly and to see if I wanted/needed anything. What a great way to be treated, as opposed to other places where I felt that I had entered the Bermuda Triange of auto service! The car was done, as promised, Tom told me what had been done, asked again if I had any questions, shook my hand and said it had been a pleasure, Greg then took extra time to go over my bluetooth with me,again,which was most helpful. While in the dealership we have noticed that it is a very pleasant, no pressure enviroment. All the employees that we have interacted with are friendly, helpful and seem quite happy at their job. All in all, this has been a very nice change from our other car sales/service dealerships. Keep up the good work and the good music.

He (and everyone else I worked with) are professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and most of all really nice people!I bought a 2011 GTI for a great price and I got a great value for my trade-in. The car was delivered on time and was well prepared. I also received an excellent walk-through of my car's features upon delivery. But what really cemented my opinion of them was what happened after I got the car. Within 2 weeks I curbed one of the rims (huge 18s), and Jason has worked with my wife and I to get the problem solved.I would buy another car from Colonial VW in a second.

The people working behind the desk in the Service Department are very nice. I love my VW car and I have had no problems with it. The only problem I have is with the Service mechanics and how busy the place always is.First off, getting an appointment is hard, you usually have to drop your car off and spend the day without a car. They do offer shuttle service to the T but with the problems the T has had with trains stuck in tunnels. No, thank you.Second, they are always SWAMPED. I brought my car in for an oil change and to have the breaks inspected (this took a whole day). I got my car back and the seat was wobbly due to the mechanic not screwing the seat back in. It was after 5pm on Friday so I couldn't go back and ask for a quick fix so I called them and left a message. I didn't hear back from them until Monday. They told me to come in any time and they would fix it. I went in today and per usual they were SWAMPED. The guy said I could leave my car but I didn't want to since this was their mistake and I'd rather not leave my car again. He was not able to accomodate me so I unfortunately stormed out of there and won't be going back. It concerns me that something as easy as an oil change and brake inspection can lead to a wobbly seat. They aren't doing their job 100% which is probably because they are so swamped. Either way, if they don't have time for me, I don't have time for their shenanigans. Nice people but shady service.I could fix the seat myself but I don't have the appropriate tools and why should I fix something that shouldn't be a problem in the first place?

Colonial had many copies of the2011 Jetta SportWagon TDI I wanted in inventory. Alan and Jason were helpful, not pushy, and helped facilitate the deal. Their price offer was reasonable from the get-go. Very little haggling to get to yes. Ann (right name?) got us a very good financing deal. Car and financing were ready to go the next day. That simple. A young associate (Billy? Bobby?) demonstrated all the features of the car to my satisfaction.The vehicle has delivered on all my expectations. Easily 50+ MPG on the highway. Great handling. Solid. So far so good at 3400 miles.Took the vehicle back 90 days later for its courtesy checkup. They fixed one little electrical gig and removed a nail from one tire. We were recently faced with the unexpected need to purchase a vehicle after the fuel pump failed on our existing car. Given the expense of repair versus the age of the car and the fact that I commute almost 400 miles per week, a new car made sense. We knew we wanted the Volkswagen Jetta Sportwagen based on its appearance, size, and incredible gas mileage. Now the only question was finding a dealership who would help us reach the price we needed and also help us with our somewhat unusual situation of having a trade-in that was in need of some repair. Colonial Volkswagen of Medford was our last stop of a 3 dealership tour, not to mention multiple internet inquiries. We had to move fast but we also had to move smart. From the initial phone-call they were friendly and responsive. They understood that our current car did have value and they never tried to make us feel otherwise. In fact, they handled the towing of that car, without even involving us with it. Other dealerships said we would have to get the car to them if it was to be considered for trade-in. As far as the pricing goes, it all felt very upfront and in the open. Rather than the salesperson going away to "talk to his manager", he brought us into the office with his manager and we all sat together. When we told them our bottom line, they met it with no back and forth. Our salesperson went over every inch of the car, showing us how everything worked and highlighting all the fun features. There were no surprises at the end of the deal, except for a wonderful new car.

I am 22 years old and just graduated from college in May. When my current car (at the time) was not going to pass inspection, my dad said we had to look at some new cars. All the guys I worked with at Colonial were the best I have dealt with in terms of finding a new car. Fred Festa was an excellent and informed rep for the car and the company and sold me on the GTI, my first VW. Later, Alan Gallagher was excellent as well, and spent a lot of time with me explaining many details about the car. It was clear he knows his business. He is also a great personality, instills customer confidence and is fun to deal with. Most important, no one at Colonial pushed to hard to sell me. Jason was the best car sales person I've ever had the pleasure of working with. He was very knowledgeable ab out the car I was looking at, very friendly, and there was no pressure. Price negotiation was easy and transparent, and based on my experience with other dealers, the price was very good. Even after we negotiated a price, there was still no pressure to buy that day. I did purchase that day because I got not only the best price on the car, but also better service then I expected. They even took the time to track down the exact car (color and options) that I wanted, so I have exactly what I was hoping to buy. Jason even went through all the features and controls on my particular car when I took delivery, which was very helpful and better then reading through the whole owner's manual. I definitely would refer anyone to Jason that is looking for the most positive car buying experience possible.

We came from NH to look at a used 2007 Passat wagon. I called ahead of time and Alan had the car waiting out front for us to test drive! The negotiation process was completely relaxed, and we were very happy with both the trade allowance and price of the vehicle. Anna, the finance manager was fantastic and even came in on her day off, so we wouldn't have to make mutiple trips to the dealership! And it certainly wasn't the usual finance office experience. Anna was very friendly, relaxed and helped us choose a warrranty that fit our budget and needs. Both Al and Anna were great with our 3 1/2 year old daughter. Supplying her with stickers, and a balloon when she started getting cranky. Our new vehicle was cleaned and gassed as promised when I picked it up. Al helped me transfer the car seat into the new vehicle and gave me an overview of the accessories. I wouldn't hesitate to send a friend or family member to this dealership! Our whole experience was awesome and we love our new VW!

Bought a new jetta sport wagon with this dealership recently. I went through a number of dealers before settling on them. Some dealers didn't answer my questions accurately or fully, some didn't take the time to consider my needs or budget and make helpful recommendations, some gave me the run-around when it came to price. In the end I settled on this dealership even though it was not the one closest to me because they helped me understand the price they were offering, and showed me how other quotes I had received from other dealers were dishonest. And when I checked myself I found that they were right. The buying experience was completely painless, and the review of the vehicle after my purchase was thorough. They even noticed that my drivers license had just expired, and got me a new one online. Since my purchase they have followed up with me several times. I continue to appreciate the attention. I will happily return should my family need another VW.

I had an excellent experience working with Greg from the start. Even though I walked into the showroom just before closing one night, Greg greeted me with a handshake and a smile, and stayed late to explain the CC packages to me. It was refreshing that a salesperson actually knew about the car they were selling, and he knew about the competition enough to have a constructive discussion about the other cars. When I came back the next week, Greg was very helpful showing me the models they had in stock and what was available in their system. He found what I wanted and we eventually sealed the deal over the phone. I never felt pressure which was refreshing, and all of the staff seemed to work well together. If Greg was busy with a customer when I stopped in, someone was more than willing to show me around, etc, without the sense of "stealing" my sale. Anna was straight forward, informative, and quick during the financing and paperwork stage. I have no concerns recommending the team and dealer to someone else.

He was straightforward and didn't try to sell us anything we weren't looking for and gave us time to look at other car dealerships to compare other small SUVs in our category. It was nice to feel like we could trust him to give us honest answers and advice. We decided to lease and got what seemed like the best price out of all the dealerships we looked at. When we picked up our car, Greg spent about an hour with us showing us the control panels and setting up our phones to the Blue Tooth and our IPod with the radio.

I had an unexpectedly good experience buying a new Jetta Sportswagen at Colonial VW. Jason, the internet sales manager, was responsive and knowledgeable and not pushy at all. We worked out a good price and there wasn't a lot of unpleasant haggling. I also appreciated the time he spent with me showing me the features of the car. Anna, the finance manager, was pleasant and helpful in making the financing happen. She offered me all the usual extras, but didn't push them on me or use scare tactics. Jason contacted me early on in my search, and with little or no pressure, convinced my husband and me that leasing was probably better for me than buying because of my circumstances (low mileage, like newer cars, like lower monthly payments, etc.). Jason and Anna took the necessary time getting everything in order for me and made me feel welcome and important as a customer. Later, Jason and Leo fit me in right away when I needed a wiper replaced. I was in and out of there in less than half an hour during my lunch break without an appointment. I don't know how everyone there keeps such a good spirit on hand, but it sure is a pleasure to see--as if everyone there actually enjoys their job! I have owned or leased many cars in my life, and I can't recall a more pleasant overall experience. Oh, and did I mention that I LOVE being back in a VW after having been away from them for 30+ years?

My past experiences with buying cars from dealerships has been awful at best, so it never occurred to me that buying a new car could actually be pleasant. Working with the crew at Colonial in Medford changed my perception. They were friendly, responsive, professional, and ultimately got me a good price on the TDI Golf I wanted. I went in prepared for the worst, ready for a fight. Tony initially showed me the car, took me out for a test drive. Tony was great, super nice, no pressure. So far so good. On my next visit I negotiated a price and started working through the paperwork. I kept waiting for them to unleash that guy from the back room who comes out and tries to screw you at the last minute... but to my amazement that guy never came out. Instead we negotiated a fair price, flew through the paperwork, and the next day I drove off. Super easy.So in summary, I'd highly recommend this place. Professional, no drama...

I knew that I would have a great experience with the dealership once I got off the phone with the dealer after searching online for a VW dealership. I quickly scanned Colonial Website and found a couple of cars that I was interested in. I spoke with Sean OConnor and told him exactly what I wanted. To be honest I did not feel pressured to make a decision on the spot. The only issue was that there were two exact cars that I was comparing and contrasting. Sean let me take my time and did not rush me, I would also like to add this was on a Tuesday. I finally negotiated on the car I would like that night with no pressure from Sean. The elapsed time had to be about 2.5 hours. I left feeling great about my purchase. I was to come in on Monday of the next week to pick up the car however there was an issue, the previous owner was in an accident which was not reported to the insurance company, which CarFax did not pick up on. Im pretty sure if it was any other car dealership they would of just sold me the car. Sean told me that the reputation of Colonial would be on the line if he sold me that car knowing the information that he knew after we signed papers. He told me that he had the same exact car at another dealership and that I would be able to look at it. The turn-around time for that was 2 hours. I inspected the car and felt that it was to my liking and was able to drive off the lot that night. He literally jump through hoops to get it registered for me before the close of the registry that night. I would also like to add that Sean spoke to my insurance company to make sure that they had the new VIN number. Sean was upfront and honest and man of his word. I had the car a few days and had to take it back in to get my inspection sticker he made sure the tank was full as promised. There are a couple of minor scratches on the car that he said that would take car for me, I have yet to do so but im sure when I bring it in he will honor his promise. I am completely satisfied with the purchase and am glad I worked with Sean OConnor.

I went to this dealership because it was closeby; I had already gone to the sister store in Wellesley just to check out the GTI and TDI, but Medford was just much more convenient for me. I walked in pretty late Tuesday night, but Greg Cohen was still willing to take me for a test drive. I met with him on Saturday to work on the purchase, and he was extremely patient and willing to get me a deal that was satisfactory. After I made the purchase, I looked around to compare the price I paid with other people on Edmunds, and my price was definitely lower. The people here are very kind, not pushy, and have been extremely pleasant to deal with.

Let me just say walking in on Monday morning at 7:30am I was less than optimistic about what would happen next. I am moving out of state on Saturday and this weekend my car started to act up. We had the car towed in on Sunday and I was on their doorstep Monday morning ready to cry and praying this would not delay my move. David took all my info as well as inform me that there were 6 outstanding recalls on my car. (I just purchased my car from a small independent lot in June and have not put 2000 miles on it yet. This is also my 3rd VW my last car was a bug with 178K miles on it before I got the Passat)I was assured I would be called on Monday afternoon with some info but there were 31 other people ahead of me. Crying was a real option at this point. I called and spoke with David around 3pm and was informed that it was a recall on my car, there would be no charge and everything was fixed and ready to go by 5pm that same Monday. I was shocked!!!! and so very pleased. When I arrived at 430 David said he would work on the paperwork and I went to go wonder the show room. I spoke with a very nice receptionist who was friendly and want to tell a manager how great the service was. The manager was busy and the receptionist and I were talking. I told her I wanted an EOS next after my kids got a little older. She called over a sales person to show me the car. I would have met with Greg but his customer had come back in and another young man who I am embarrassed to say I dont remember his name showed me the car. He spent time showing me what the buttons did and how cool the transformation is. SO COOL. When I was done looking at the car and having a hot coco I went back in and my paperwork was ready. I had a great experience of what could have been a really disaster. Thank you so much. I highly recommend this dealership to any one who needs service for their car or sales for a new one.

Bill was a nice guy and had good sales skills. Anna was understanding and helpful. Overall the quality of the sales was great. However, I was not walked through all the features of the vehicle but that was due to my lack of time. Hopefully when I get sometime i will be able to go see bill to go through some features I did not figure out in the car. Overall great people to work with. My first contact was online and I did the full financing app and then was contacted by phone. I was told that my credit rating would open me to more financing options than normal, inclduing those I had seen advertised online and that I would just have to confirm that I was who I said I was when I got in there. I confirmed that they had vehicles that would fit my needs and the financing plan.I was on a short timeline(my mistake) so I showed up more or less ready to buy. I had done substantial research on the vehicle I was looking for so I wasn't a complete babe in the woods. Salesman was new and didn't have all his facts straight and wasn't the best listener but ok, I found a vehicle I liked and that fit my description. I got a good deal on the vehicle--nothing spectacular but solid. Negotiations ensue and I'm told they have no record of my financing app mentioned previously, and that the vehicle doesn't qualify for the financing I had discussed before anyway. So someone was bs'ing me somewhere along the line. Long and short is that I buy the car that night at a price I was comfortable with. When I go to pick up a few days later at a pre-arranged time the car isn't exactly ready. Tank isn't full, sticker hasn't been received, and there was an upholstery issue. I got credits for the teank and sticker but that meant I needed to do that on my own time. I pick up the car but I need to go back a week later for service for the upholstery issue--again if I hadn't pushed the issue it didn't seem like anything would happen and when I did show up for that service the service folks didn't seem to have a record of me. A call tomy salesman straightened things out but not exactly a good first service experience.Love the vehicle not a huge fan of the dealership. During purchase I had my dad with me, who had an expressed interest in buying also, so I figured they would have really tried to do right by me but it was just ok. That said, the car is sweet and I'm loving it.

This was my first new car purchase and my first car purchase on my own- everyone (even those not directly involved!) was incredibly friendly and welcoming and made the experience a lot less intimidating. I emailed back and forth with Jason for a few weeks prior to coming in and I was really impressed with how quickly he responded, his honesty and how willing he was to talk me through the whole process. When I got to the dealership Bill was very welcoming and walked me through the whole process, making sure I understood everything. He worked with me to get a good deal and he thoroughly described the financing so I could make an educated decision. I can't say enough about this place!! I had never bought a car from a dealer before (always bought my older brother's car from him when he upgraded!). I bought my 2006 VW Golf there 6 weeks ago.I called about the car and was able to test drive the same day. Anya was the sales person and she could not have been friendlier. She was extremely knowledgeable about the car and the whole process. I really felt comfortable with her. She made the whole experience easy. She walked me through the dealership and garage and answered all of my many questions. She did not try to up-sell and was very respectful of my price range and interest. The whole office staff was also very welcoming. They gave me time to think about it (3 weeks) without being pushy. I had to bring the car back in two days after I bought it to get the 12 volt fixed. They knew I was in a hurry and the mechanics and staff had me out of there in an hour on a busy day. It was a hot day as well and the owner of the dealer brought all the employees slush and offered me one as well. It's the most welcoming waiting room I've been in in a long time. All the employees seemed to get along well and there's a very friendly vibe in the whole establishment. They helped with financing and all the paperwork -they take care of EVERYTHING from registration and inspection to changing the plates - Anya even personally scrubbed my old plates so they'd look clean on my 'new' car. I would gladly send my own mother here to buy a car and know that she would be in good hands.

After moving back to Boston from Georgia, I was looking to move on from my 2004 Passat to a 2010 Tiguan for the little extra space and the 4-wheel drive in the winters, without the car being too big for the city. I chose Colonial because they had the widest selection of Tiguans available according to my online searches. I had done enough research beforehand to know what options were available, what I needed, and how much I wanted to pay. Greg listened to what I was looking for and was able to put me in the exact model and color I was looking for. He got me a good value on my trade-in and worked with me to get to the price I was comfortable with. He took me on a very long test drive so I could really get a feel for the car and took the time to explain all the features and nuances of the vehicle. Once I made the decision to purchase, Anna guided me through all my Financing offers and was able to get me into a lower monthly payment than I could get from my company's credit union. And as a big plus, since the car I wanted was on the lot, I didn't have to wait 4-5 days to pick it up. I was able to go out to lunch, come back an hour later, and drive home in my new car. This is the third new car I have purchased and was, by far, my best buying experience.

Asked for leasing quotes on a VW Tiguan via Edmunds.com. Two of three dealers responded via email, the third wanted me to come in before a quote. Having just moved to the US from abroad I found it difficult to find anyone who could deal with me. After a 5 minute conversation with Greg he had a good feeling he could help me. By the next day he had the wheels in motion and the day after that I signed for the car. It was exactly what I was after. Essentially within one week I was able to drive away the car. I visited two other dealerships before Medford VW (one because I had previous experience with, one because it was in the next town over) Both were horrible -- couldn't drive the car I wanted to buy, questions about my seriousness, general suckiness. I searched on this very site for a highly rated salesperson and came across the glowing reviews for Anya. They were correct.I went over, drove the car I wanted, casually talked about price (which resulted in a really good price from my perspective), told her I needed some time to think and was respectfully given that time. When I did purchase the dealership went out of their way to hunt down the exact model I wanted. When there was an issue with the terms of my lease Anna, the business manager, worked those issues out in my favor. Throughout Anya was able to move the deal along without the stupid application of pressure or the rude and pushy pettiness that so many car sales people seem to fall into as a default way of operating.The point is if you are looking for a new VW you owe it to yourself to visit Anya. I have bought a lot of cars and typically am not the kind of guy to write one of these reviews up, especially one this positive and glowing. But she and VW in Medford earned the praise. They earned my business. And I think, if you visit them, you'll find they will earn yours too.

I have not had a VW in a long time (my lastone was air cooled), but based on this experience I'd buy another car from them.I got a chance to tour the service and parts department; both seemed clean and organized.The whole place appeared to be well run. Everyone working their was customer oriented.I have not used either yet, but I plan to do all my service at their facility.I picked Colonial because they are close to my house, but after talking with thestaff (and buying the car) I would work with them even if they were not close to myhome.

In June 2009, after researching various VW dealerships in my area, I decided to go to Colonial VW after reading the reviews of Anya as a salesperson there and the service comments. After being a Nissan "family" for many years, having purchased 6 Nissans over the years, we decided to look into buying the new Turbodiesel VW Jetta. Anya's outstanding knowledge and service closed the deal, I orderd my new 2010 VW Turbodiesel Jetta stationwagon, and waited for it to be delivered, which was going to take a few months. Shortly thereafter, my daughter was planning a move to California, and we felt that her 2001 Nissan Sentra was not up to making the trip with all the miles that it had on it. Instead of buying another Nissan for her, I brought her to Anya, and purchased a VW Turbodiesel Jetta sedan. for her. She couldn't be happier with her new Jetta, along with the fuel mileage, and all of the features that it has.I have been in to have my new 2010 Jetta for a courtesy check, and met Dave the service manger for the first time. He was ever so friendly, and treated me with so much courtesy. I can't wait to go back and see him again!All the the people involved with the purchases of our cars were great, including Anna in finance. I initially called about purchasing a left over 09 sel routan they 2 of them for sale which were marked down alot from the original price. Unfortunateley I called a little late inquiring about them because the routans were already sold. Thankfully Tony Kennedy was very helpful in accomodating me with locating 3 more sel 09 routans 2 of whch were black and one silver. He toldme they were equipped the same as the models they previously sold. He gave me an awesome deal on the black sel 09 routan. It's a beautiful vehicle my wife and I love it. So with no initial plan of buying, I discovered an 09 VR6 cc (new) with a wicked discount. "No pressure" is what their hold message says on their phone system - and they mean it. Our salesman Tony was the anti-salesperson. He gave us all the info we needed and didn't pressure us at any point. He was polite and respectful. After the purchase, he took me on a tour of the entire dealership and explained every feature of my car. We had a couple early issues with this used car but Tony followed up to make sure they were resolved and that we were happy. Everyone else at the dealership was friendly and helpful. I highly recommend Colonial Volkswagen of Medford.

Jason was by far the most prompt in responding to my "Quick Quote" request. He was also the clearest in answering my questions and understanding my needs about the kind of car I wanted. Competent salesperson with a no-nonsense, friendly approach. Determined what I wanted, outlined available options, but never pushy. At purchase time, I declined the offered extended warranty/anti-theft system/wheel warranty/etc, and did not feel pressured to purchase anything I did not want. I bought a 2008 EOS but it took me awhile to figure out if I could afford it and wanted it. The salespeople were very decent, but even more important when issues came up, they were very responsive,arranged a rental, and explained the particulars of the car. An error was made on the title, and they accpted repsonsibility and went right ahead to correct it. I have bought many a car, and I must say this is the most civilized dealership yet.

I already set Colonial VW of Medford in stone as my one and only VW dealership to go to for service, but to walk in and see my favorite service manager from Boston VW, I absolutely refuse to go anywhere else. Dave was let go from Boston VW nearly a year ago due to Boston VW sucking at everything and losing business. Boston VW's loss is Colonial VW's gain. This guy goes back to an old school one-on-one customer service and works with you personally to get your car back on the road to get a simple oil change. An actual honest service manager.A few years ago when he was at boston VW, my Girlfriend at the time had a Jetta with a questionable warranty and he worked with them all day to get the problem covered on her warranty. When her car broke down and the tow truck company charged her $3 for the tow that wasn't covered by AAA(that's a whole nother story), Dave reached in his pocket to give the driver the money when she didn't have it. When I came in to get my regular oil change I wanted to have a simple gromet installed, other places wanted to charge me $50 for a simple 3 minute installation. I wasn't charged for it. When you come to colonial VW of Medford for service, ask for Dave with the Dreadlocks. You'll never have a better service experience.

As a person who sells for a living, I find it refreshing when someone embraces a partnership as apposed to, sign here, get the car and on to next one. I was in bind with a vehicle I was not happy with that I purchased last year. Ed, Larry and Anna work very hard to get me out of the bad situation. They are true professionals and I highly recommend to anyone looking for a VW, to start the process at Colonial. You may find you would not have to spend time at another dealership.

I was about to give up on VW after being lied to by several dealers about the price of a lease for a new Jetta. I sent out a few emails and got a few quotes. After going to Boston VW in Watertown and discovering that they had just outright lied to me and then going to Quirk and realizing that they had left out about half of the due at signing fees, I was really discouraged. I called Anna at Colonial VW and she was very straightforward. She explained everything to me, gave me a very fair lease quote and when i got there - nothing changed. It was such a big difference. Colonial VW is the only dealership in the Boston area that gave me the same payment when I walked in. They hid nothing. It was very busy when I was there but Anna and Mark went out of their way to make sure I was being helped and found me my new car. I am so happy, I love my Jetta and will tell all my friends to go straight to Colonial VW when shopping. Thanks!

Everyone I met here was friendly and helpful. The showroom is nice, and they get the job done.It was such a contrast to Boston (Watertown) VW, where I bought my car. I took it there for service for a long time, until I finally got fed up with their lame service. My wife and I were looking to buy our first car, and did not know what to expect from the experience. Everyone has heard horror stories (and there are many on this site) from all sorts of dealers of all sorts of cars. We were pleasantly surprised by all our dealer experiences, but we couldn't have asked for a better experience with Anya at Colonial Volkswagen. She set us at ease immediately, and was incredibly friendly and genuine. She wasn't the least bit pushy or smarmy, and she gave us the space and time we needed to discuss our options and make a decision. She also let us drive three different cars and stayed well passed the closing time for the shop to help us out. She also took the time to review what was on the lot while my wife and I discussed our options, and turned up the perfect car for us. She has followed-up with us since our decision to buy to make sure all our questions got answered and we were comfortable with everything.We've only had our car for a day so we can't be too specific about that part, but the delivery was just as positive as the rest of our experience with Colonial Volkswagen. I'm confident they will help us out if anything goes wrong. Anna was equally friendly, and also gave us the room to decide our options and our financing plan. I would highly recommend both Anya and Anna to anyone looking to buy a car who doesn't want the hassle of an off-putting or condescending sales experience. The whole process proceeded much more smoothly that we expected. Although I'm not an expert on maintenance, I was also really impressed by how clean and orderly the shop was -- this also gives me confidence that they care about service and repairs. Highly recommended!

Chris was friendly, honest and helpful. Deal was good and fair and didn't take too much time to negotiate. Kept all promises and introduced to parts and service managers. A bit of running back and forth for me due to moon roof add on back up and Chris day off. All in all a decent experience for one who doesn't buy cars often nor trusts dealers inherently. Glad that dealership is located in my town!

I had to go the a VW dealer to clear a "chech engine" light so i could get a new state inspection sticker. From the human ( Ashly) phone to finding service bulliten for my 2001 to cover some of the cost, this place is really good. It really cost me less than the independent guy I have used who did not correctly diagnosis the engine error and who could not charge back VW. This has me rethinking my adversion the dealer shops. I will use these people again. This for real, NO "typical deal gouging" and NO hype, GOOD service GOOD price, GOOD people.

They type of guy I was happy to give my business to. My first Volkswagen was a Fox, purchased long ago from a south shore Massachusetts dealer, and while I enjoyed the car, to put it mildly, I did not enjoy the purchase experience. Since then I have been leery of car salespersons and have approached car purchases with dread. I was recently shopping for a new car and looked at many models and visited many dealers. As a woman shopping for a car alone, it can be a very intimidating process. I just wanted to familiarize myself with the vehicles, maybe take it for a test drive and if I did have any questions, have them answered. I found that I couldn't even get in the door without being rather aggressively approached. At one dealership when I said to salesperson, that if he didn't mind, I just wanted to look around, he aggressively said, only if I didn't mind that he wanted to sell a car. These are the kind of tactics that absolutely put women off. I did not want to go into anymore dealerships to even consider the models that they might be selling. If a customer isn't willing to even look at what the company is offering for fear of how they may be treated, then how can such a company, or an industry for that matter, be successful. Finally when I decided that I really did want a Passat; I was fairly jaded. I have long been familiar with Volkswagens, and I found the website to be excellent. I had concluded that I only wanted to deal online because of how uncomfortable I had been going into dealerships. I had several email exchanges with Chris Ployer, from Medford Volkswagen, and to his absolute credit, he stuck with me. We had stopped discussing the car because I had thought it was outside of my budget. But he expressed a genuine interest in my reasons for only dealing online. I told him that my experiences in dealerships hadn't been the best and I didn't want to waste his or my time. He responded honestly to my concerns, which I found very surprising and it made me think that perhaps I could trust him. I decided to give him a call, I told him that this was just a last effort, that I was about to purchase a car that I liked, but didn't love. I had put a deposit on a car at the dealership across the street from where I worked, and that visit was bad enough. All men yet again, and quite frankly I had put the deposit down because I felt pressure and wanted to get this process over with. It was conveniently located and I could not bear the though of visiting one more dealership. Chris, answered his own phone, was articulate, well spoken and engaging. I told him what I could afford and if he could do that then I would have the car that I loved, instead of one that I just liked. He said he would get back to me promptly and he did. He called right back and said we have a deal, because of our earlier interactions, I believed him. That very night after work I went over to the dealership which at first glance made me a bit nervous, because it is under renovations. When I walked in and finally met Chris, suddenly it was a really safe and comfortable place to buy a car. Chris was wonderful; he was professional, prepared, and absolutely true to his word. He made sure that I was fully informed of how the transaction would take place, all the paperwork, and the process overall. I felt completely at ease. He introduced me to Anna Giacalone, the business manager for that part of the process and I thought, finally a woman in car dealership!!! I was not disappointed; Anna was great she made the credit part of the process so easy. She really listened to my preferences and comfort level. I felt genuine interest in my opinion and she was extremely considerate. Her knowledge and experience was evident and she conducted herself in what I can only imagine is a tough business for woman, with a level of professionalism that is to be admired. Sometimes it is just a small thing that someone may do, that makes a big impact on someone else. For example, when the monthly payments came up it wasnt a rounded number, she simply redid it and made it round out to the nearest 10. So now every month for the life of the loan, I can write a check that doesnt contain cents and is rounded out. That is a big deal for me, and I will remember the nice thing she did, because every month it will make balancing my check book that much easier. The little touches and big gestures of both Chris and Anna, have made my interaction with Colonial Volkswagen, something that I thought that I would never say in connection with a car purchase, truly enjoyable. I would highly recommend them to my closest family and friends because they were true to their word, honest and genuine in their actions, and treated my wishes and preferences with the utmost respect.

I recently had to replace my car after an unfortunate accident that totaled it. After visiting several shady dealers who lied in their advertising, it was a relief to work with the relaxed professionalism of Colonial VW. I had found my new pre-owned car after first seeing it online with clear descriptions, pictures, and reviews. It turned into the best and easiest experience I've ever had purchasing a vehicle. They were friendly, courteous and honest in their business practices and I would recommend them to anyone that needs to buy a car but hates the typical pushy dealership.

I've never written a review before but the business manager at tis dealer was SO nice to me that I had to take the time to do it. I had my car towed to this dealer on a rainy night. I needed a ride home and planned to call a taxi. Even though the dealership was closed the manager, Anna Giacalone, invited me in, offered me a warm drink, made small talk and then drove me home. I was so impressed with her dedication and great service. I've taken my VW Passat there twice for service and they've done a great job, been prompt about calling with a diagnosis and estimate. We recently purchased a brand new 2009 Tiguan SE 4Motion from VW Colonial of Medford. We visited another VW dealer on the South Shore area prior to coming to VW Colonial of Medford. The VW dealer on the Shouth Shore did not have the exact options that we were looking for, so we decided to visit Medford (we were pleasantly surprised to find out that there was a VW dealer closer to Cambridge/Somerville). Although VW Colonial of Medford did not have the exact car that we were looking for on their lot, they immediately told us that they would be abel to get the car we wanted from one of their sister dealerships - the other VW dealer didn't even bring this up as an option, they only kept pushing the cars on their lot and specifically one that we were not at all interested in!Chris and Mark were great to deal with, no sly sales tactics, just straight up answers to our questions, straight up and fair price negotiation. If we said no, they didn't push us.We are happy that we went with VW Colonial of Medford and will definitely recommend them to other VW fans!

This was my second trip to the dealership. This time I needed two headlights - an emergency, of course. Bob (Parts department) was friendly and remembered me from my last visit. He introduced me to Sal in service who was also friendly and had my lights installed quickly and professionally while I waited. Meanwhile, I sat in a beautiful 2009 Eos during my wait and Chris was the friendly sales person on the floor who I chatted with about the possibility of me owning that car sometime in the near future. I have already recommended this dealership to my 2 Jetta-driving sisters. Fast, friendly, professional and helpful - what more could you ask for?

Anyone who has owned a VW for any length KNOWS what a technical pain they are to maintain. And expensive. Summary for Colonial VW of Medford:FRIENDLY and ATTENTIVE; UNDERSTOOD the issues; FIXED the stated issue in the timeframe stated; Assessed other items and FIXED the warranty issues; made NO PRESSURE recommendations on other items.Prices? Well, VWs aren't cheap, and dealership prices are outrageous, but that is not necessarily the fault of the particular store.Now, on to the qualitative assessment:Wife calls the office Thursday morn: car is kaput: no start, and "STOP" on the info center.I call this new dealership I had seen a month prior, so new that a plastic banner still covered the name of whatever dealership they took over. Colonial VW of Medford MA.Service Guy says "C'mon down! We're not busy." (I guess no one knows yet they are there.)WarrantyDirect (WD is my extended warranty company) sends the flatbed.I am thinking Comfort Control Module (climatronic had been acting up last few weeks; no a/c and blinking display; been meaning to get to that...).Service Guy calls: car wouldn't start because battery was dead (VWs have a way of losing their batteries all at once, and it *had* suddenly gotten cold hear in Beantown). He said the *STOP* was unrelated--coolant bottle had cracked and the coolant was low. As for the A/C, the Tech had diagnosed that *other* dreaded-but-common failure: the A/C flap motor (+ pressure valve in my case). Service Guy had already okayed repair with WD. He was surprised that they were going to cover everything (except the battery, of course).That said: being a VW dealership, they of course do not have the parts handy... Service Guy has already ordered them; thinks car should be done by Monday.Saturday morning, I realize: I have no car! I call Colonial, hoping for a loaner (or at least a cheap rental). He says that the Tech is "finishing up now"; states car should be done by noon. (Yeah, RIGHT!). He calls me at noon to tell me the car is ready (Hmmm....). And. it. WAS!Another $1000+ from WD (VWs NEED an extended warranty!). "But WAIT: There's Still More!"During the job, Tech had noted a transaxle leak (I had been meaning to get to THAT, too), input/output shaft leaks, and an oil-cooler seal leak. The Service Guy had ALREADY okayed it with the area rep (under my VW powertrain warranty) and completed all services! PLUS he had the Tech do an outstanding heatshield recall (which my previous dealership had ignored, even when I asked "any outstanding recalls?")So, seriously: I don't know if it's because they are new or what, but I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Colonial VW of Medford: it's almost as if they UNDERSTAND the car and RESPECT the driver. Too weird. My new dealership: Colonial VW of Medford. Major kudos.
