We had previously purchased a vehicle from Mike VanHohenstein, when he first joined Crown Toyota. My wife recently was hit by a person running a stop sign, which totaled her car and required a replacement. She insisted on dealing with Mike again. While she was arranging for her new vehicle, I looked over the new RAV4, to replace my 2009 Camry, with the intention of using the vehicle to tow and launch our fishing boat. That day we bought TWO new vehicles from Mike! He is an excellent salesman, and the type you want to deal with...he listens to what his customers are interested in and then provides alternative options. He doesn't "sell", and certainly doesn't push. Our experience with Mike, the F&I manager, was also excellent. He, too, understood the importance of listening to the customer and not trying to upload unwanted additional services, as we have found in past experience. Bravo to the entire Crown Toyota staff.

I drove up from Kalamazoo to test drive a car that I saw on the website. This was my first time looking to buy a car from a dealership so I had done my research and was prepared to play "hard ball" with a cutthroat salesman. What I got instead was Tony VanGelder. He was upfront, honest and willing to work with me to get the financing I needed to fit my budget. It has only been about a month and a half but the car is in great shape and was not misrepresented at all. I would recommend Crown to anyone. Also I had not been to Holland before and found it to be a pretty cool area. We hit up New Holland Brewing for lunch and drinks after I bought the car. I also recommend that. I don't know if I can do that on this review but I just did so...Anyway. Thanks Tony and Crown!

I went to Crown Toyota knowing exactly what I wanted. They had it in their inventory and I asked Mark Doyle for a price, telling him I knew what I would pay. I have no interest in 'bartering' and informed him of such. He came back within minutes with a price--it was fair and I bought the Highlander. Easiest sale he has made in a long time. He paid attention to my needs; explaining what I wanted to a more than satisfactory level. I came back with the vehicle the next day and he gave the same amount of attention to my wife and her needs to understand the vehicle.

Crown always does a great job. After buying 3 used vehicles from them I find that they offer consistent customer service. The low pressure, honest approach offered by their sales staff is really appreciated and I consider it to be one of the most positive car buying experiences I have had. It was not like the transactions I have been used to at other dealers. I have also found that their service department is top notch as well. Trust is very important for me and Crown has earned ours.

Mike McLaughlin sold me a 2015 Sienna. I have been to other dealers in the Grand Rapids area and found that the other dealers either didn't have time for you or put a lot of stress on trying to sell their car. With Mike there was no problem. He went out of his way to make it a pleasant experience. Buy from him and you can't go wrong.

From the very first call to the dealership I felt taken care of and knew that I would have to go to this dealership. Carole was very knowledgeable and caring, responding in a very timely manor to every question I asked. Upon arriving at the dealership we were paired with Lupe R - our salesman. He was a huge blessing to us as he led us through the process of buying our first Toyota sienna. Lupe and the entire staff are very knowledgeable and courteous. I have NO regrets about driving from Kalamazoo to Holland to purchase our van. I would recommend this dealership and all of its employees to anyone looking for a used vehicle. All of the staff here is friendly. The staff that helped me int he purchase, Lupe, was accommodating and friendly. I believe I received a fair price for the car and when I found that the auxiliary port was not working (likely from something when the car was prepared for re-sale) he was helpful in setting up a time when I could get it working at no charge. Overall, I am very satisfied with my experience.

This was my first experience at Crown Motor and Mark Doyle treated me well. He helped me in finding exactly what I wanted, within a price range that I was willing to pay. I did not feel pressured into buying and he was sensitive to my situation. Mike McLaughlin has been the person I have been dealing with since he started at Crown Motors. I have purchased three vehicles from him. I have also had a family member and a friend purchase a vehicle from him as well. I feel Mike is very trustworthy and does not use high pressure sales tactics to get me to buy. He has helped me look for vehicles even when i was not totally sure i was going to purchase one at the time. This last time I called him was Friday October 31st and said i was going to come in and buy a car.Mike had the vehicle ready for the test drive. my husband changed his mind and decided to get a different Rav and Mike was on top of that as well. as you can see i will return to your company as long as the service is as friendly and helpful as it has been for a very long time. the entire staff you ahfe that helped me and my husband were awesome. :) :) :)

We started out looking for a used car but realized that we could get a brand new car only a little more money! Mike Vanhohenstein was our salesman and he was awesome! I like with Crown that you could take cars for a test drive without the salesman breathing down your neck in the back seat- awkward! Mike was friendly and very personable and not pushy- I didn't get a phone call every other day and multiple emails like some of the other dealers we shopped at. Getting the loan was a piece of cake- Mike Ryder was very helpful and gave us clear and solid information and I feel we received the best interest rate- when I shopped around for the car loan at other banks they said Crown was very reputable and would get the best rate out there. I am very happy with the service I received and absolutely LOVE my new Highlander. Thanks Mike V! So far so good!

I recently purchased a used car from Crown Motors in Holland. Carole was kind enough to introduce me to Duane Scholten who patiently helped me over the course of several hours. I informed him of the Highlander I wanted and he did not push me to look at new vehicles or even to look at other cars. He answered all of my questions and saw the process through from start to finish. All the staff was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. The facility is clean and neat. The coffee shop is also an added plus. I love my "new" Highlander! I could not be more happy.

Recently, I purchased a Toyota RAV4 from Crown Motors, Holland, where good service, friendly personnel and bright, clean facilities were apart of the experience. Upon entering the building, we were met by a friendly salesperson, Mike McLaughlin, who gave generously of his time, and in a non-pressure manner, he answered our questions and alleviated our concerns. Mike's pleasant personality, good attitude, helpfulness, knowledge, trustworthiness, and professional manner helped make the experience of purchasing the car a very good one. Even after spending considerable time explaining the many features of my new car, Mike responded promptly and clearly to a question when I e-mailed him a couple of days later. I would highly recommend Mike to my family and friends. Working with Mike Bradford, the financial manager, was also a good experience. Here it is time for us to be bringing our car back in for an oil change and I'm not sure if we will be back to Crown. Last time we were there we had our 40000 mile check... we talked to Ziggy about a "noise" and he never responded or addressed the questions. Don't you think that is odd? We certainly do. What? Are you all going to wait until our warranty in has ran out and then tell us, Oh yes, you need to have this done and that done? WOW! So is that how this business is ran?

I could go on and on about the quality of service I received from Tony Van Gelder. Our family refuses to purchase vehicles from anyone else! I listed all the features I was looking for in my 2014 Tundra and Tony wasted no time finding this truck. He called me two days later saying an employee was on his way to Ohio to pick it up! Tony's passion and professionalism didn't stop there. We exchanged phone calls probably a dozen times throughout the next couple of days outlining my different options for purchasing the vehicle. Next thing you know I am signing my paperwork for a 2014 Tundra at a lower cost and interest rate then I anticipated! I had Duane Scholten as my dealer at Crown Motors in buying my 2011 Toyota. I did not get much off the price of the car so that was the part I did not like, they did not budge with me on the cost. I had excellent service when I was there, Duane was doing his best to make sure the car was all "set up" with the radio; getting my incoming calls with the car system; making sure the car was prepped the way it should be before I bought it; the license was on the car and registered with the insurance; etc. All details were worked out when I was there and this took a few hours. Duane did not miss a single detail, made sure I had something to drink from the coffee shop next door. He took care of it all. I was impressed with the professionalism he showed me during this sale, there was no "dumbing-down" or prideful behavior going on from any of them, I was treated with much respect. I have had my car now for over a month, wanted to make sure I did not get a lemon and regret this review. The car is outstanding, I am really glad I bought this car and am happy with the performance and all the comments I have received about it from the neighbors, family and friends. I would definitely go back to Duane for another car in the years ahead, over all this was an outstanding experience with this car from the time I set foot on the lot to a month after owning the car.

Tony always goes the extra mile to keep us informed, let us know what's going on, and works to get us the best deal--all with a smile! It's been 14 years since I bought a new car. There are so many options and it's almost overwhelming. We looked at cars from several dealers in town. Crown Motors had the most professional sales people. We were fortunate enough to have Tony VanGelder as our sales representative. He was great. He was not high pressure and really listened to what I wanted in a car. He didn't harass us daily on the phone. He really made the experience great. Thank you Tony. I also really liked dealing with Mike Bradford when it came to the finical part of buying our car. And lastly I can't forget the lovely ladies in the coffee shop on site, Carpe Latte. We bought a new 2012 Toyota Camry Hybrid from Mike Hohenstein and were very happy with the car and with the sales staff at Crown Motors. We just recently traded that car in on a new 2014 Toyota Avalon hybrid. We are extremely happy with this new car too! We have told our friends about Crown Motors and Mike Hohenstein and showed off our new car. Every one is impressed! You know we were happy with Crown Motors because we came back there to buy our next car. The only complaint I have with our new Avalon is that the light colored deck behind the back seats reflects up into the back window and makes it hard to see out of the back window. I solved that by custom cutting and fitting a piece of black felt to lay over the deck. It works perfectly to eliminate the reflection! :-)

I called Mike McLaughlin to let him know that I was going to lease a new Camry. Mike got to work looking for vehicles that had the features I was looking for. He called me a couple times on a Saturday because he knew that I wanted the car right away. He got me the car that I wanted at a price that made sense. His follow-up was great. Had a great experience. Took my Pruis in for service and bought a new one. Great price and financing. Mike VanHohenstein was very helpful and respected my request to not be pressured. Sales and service staff were all very friendly and accomodating. Professional, but relaxed. Live in GR, but tried Crown for service since I now work in Holland...very impressed. The GR dealerships should take some lessons from them. Love my new Pruis!!!!! They found the exact car I wanted in less than 5 minutes. Thank you Crown!!!

I had been in the market for a new vehicle and had been looking for a Tacoma for several months. I had contacted Crown online first. They were incredibly responsive, professional, and focused in questions to address what I was looking for in a vehicle. I went down and met Mike McLaughlin and sales team. He is an excellent salesman. Straight shooter, no gimmick qualities, schmoozey, character - great person, honest about the sales, incredibly knowledgeable and non-pressuring. We were respected throughout the process, but had a lot of fun, laughing, and settling in on numbers that worked for us. Mike spent an incredibly amount of time educating me on the features of the vehicle, how systems worked, the technology etc. As a result of trusting him and the group, we decided to purchase a vehicle, rather than doddle around for a few more months or another year. This is a Great Group to work with and I would have no reservation recommending Mr. McLaughlin.

My wife & I could not have enjoyed the experience of buying a new truck any better than we did at Crown Motors. All of the folks there were courteous, helpful & very likeable. The sales person we dealt with was Mike Vanhoenstein who helped find the right truck for us & was very patient & informative, as well as being a nice guy. All of the folks there were very nice, from the finance expert Mike, the service people who added the accessories, the coffee shop, to the manager Scott. You could tell from the atmosphere the feelings were genuine, not just because they had a potential sale. I would recommend Crown Motors to anyone without hesitation. Start to finish, we had an enjoyable experience at Crown Toyota with Tony Van Gelder. I must have asked him 75 questions about the used vehicle that we were interested in, a Honda Odyssey that had only been on the lot for a day or so, and yet he managed to answer every question with integrity. He never once pressured us or made us feel uncomfortable. Tony is patient, knowledgeable and trustworthy. I would highly recommend going to see Tony at Crown Toyota if you are in the market for a used car.

Me and my wife just bought a used car from this dealership and it was a joyful experience. I called the salesman to make sure the car was still available. We made an agreement that he would call if it sold before I showed up that day. When I got to the dealership the car I was interested in was started with the air condition on and the sales associate met me at the door. We test drove the car and there was a minor squeak from the right tire. Our fears were received well and the dealership took care of all our issues and fix the problem with the car. The next day after the car as fixed the sales associate drove the car to my wife's place of employment. Great experience, Good customer service and we will be back in the future to buy future cars. The sales associate name is Brad Shook. Great to work with, ask for him.

After researching their website (easy to use and find the cars i was interested in), I drove out with the intention of test driving a couple of Jettas. Dave Kolean was very easy to work with and not high pressure at all. I got to try the vehicles I wanted and was able to ask all the questions I wanted. After test driving other makes/models at other dealers, I returned to Crown to buy my Jetta TDI Wagon. Other than Saturn (so sorry to them go), this was the quickest and easiest car buying experience I've had. Service after the sale hasn't disappointed either.

Crown Toyota and Mike made by buying of a new car very easy. Mike listened to my concerns and wants and took care of it. Did most of the preliminary stuff over the phone, including the financing. When I went in to pick up my car, I was treated very well, unlike when I went to the dealership in Muskegon, where I was ignored. Will be seeing Mike and Crown again, when I wear this car out.

I absolutely hate the car buying process, so I was skeptical. There was no pressure from any of the staff about anything! All questions were answered to my satisfaction and the process was easy peasy, from beginning to end. Even the finance part was simple. You owe it to yourself to call Floyd. Since last September 2013 my family has purchased 4 cars from Crown. This was my 5th Toyota. All purchased from Crown. I have had 4 Camry's and finally upgraded to a fully loaded Avalon. Which I love! Every time I need advise on some aspect of my car I go see Mike and get taken care of right away. My car has so much technology......I am a senior citizen and Mike has never laughed at my inability to understand some of the gagets...that should answer the question as to why I have to go see Mike. He is so helpful! I can not say enough good things about Mike he is great!!!!!! My grand-daughter also bought her 1st car in September. A Mazda. Then in May of 2014 my daughter needed a new car and purchased a Jetta from Crown in Holland. Which she LOVES! Wanting a VW Passat for 3 years, we finally chose CROWN Toyota in Holland, MI to drive and take a look at their vehicles. Although it was a long drive, it was very well worth it. I had the pleasure of meeting and working with DAVID KOLEAN who found the exact PASSAT I was looking for. It was detailed to perfection just like I wanted; David patiently took me on a test drive going (from a large SUV to the PASSAT) was eventful to say the least. He didn't give up on showing me all the great features of the PASSAT during the drive and actually lived through it. Short story, he found the color with all the options I wanted, was a true gentleman throughout the entire transaction and will forever be MY salesman of choice. I do not live in the Holland Community, but drove an hour and half away to go to this specific dealership when I bought my Jetta in 2009. The sales personnel were terrific, got me exactly the car I wanted. When it came to follow-up service, the delivered as promised with a loaner car for the day, since I was coming so far away. David Kolean was wonderful about this, and always answered any and all questions in a respectful manner. Never talked down to me because I was a woman. I would not hesitate to buy another car here and recommend their service department. Luckily for me, the Jetta is a very dependable car and I have not had any repairs, only regular maintenance.

Purchased a Diesel Jetta Wagon in 2009 when they first came out. David Kolean was my salesman and managed to get me the car that I wanted with all the bells and whistles. David was excellent to work with and the process was extremely easy. Their Customer Service Department is wonderful - Ziggy, their customer service rep is always extremely courteous, helpful and friendly; he has given me GREAT advice over the years. I once got some bad diesel fuel with water on it, and the service crew told me exactly what I could expect to happen, and it did. The facilities are always clean, free Wi-Fi is wonderful, and they have snacks to munch on. When I decide to purchase another car, it will probably be a Jetta Diesel, again and I would definitely talk to Crown Motors - unfortunately for them it only has 60,000 miles on it, and it's just getting broke in. Love my Jetta and the sales and service staff at Crown Volkswagon!

Several days later got report of work done, etc. Was not told at end of service that something was leaking. Was not given chance to have it repaired. Report said I had refused to have it done!!!!! As, we parked our car and started our walk thru the lot the salesman walked over to greet us and called us by name. This young man was the gentleman, who sold us our current car six years, previously. Brad was very knowledgeable of autos on the lot. He provided us with comparisons of fuel economy, mileage and service history. We test drove our 2006 Honda, Civic and purchased it that day. In 2005, I decided my next vehicle was going to be a 2003 or 2004 Toyota Highlander Ltd. I wasn't sure which dealer I wanted to go with so I sent out emails to all local dealerships, telling what I was looking for and asked that they respond to me with whatever they might have available for me to look at. The ONLY one who responded to me was TONY VANGELDER of Crown Motors! He was so informative, personable and trustworthy. We emailed back and forth a few times until we came to an agreement on the vehicle and the price. We did all of it over the emails and phone conversations, including the committment to purchase. I had NEVER done that before, but instinctively knew that I could trust Tony. After just a few days, I drove from Montague to Crown Motors in Holland and finally met Tony in person and purchased "my baby"! I was the new proud owner of my first SUV, my Toyota Highlander Limited!! Everyone at Crown Motors, from the salesperson to the office person, to the service department, whether in person or on the phone, has always been absolutely the most helpful and friendly of any car dealership I have associated with. Tony has kept in touch with me via email, checking every now and then to see if I still liked "my baby". I do! And I still have it, 9 years later!! I told Tony that whenever I do decide to purchase a newer vehicle, he and Crown Motors is who I will go through! I have referred many people to Tony and Crown Motors. Some of them I know and some were strangers, who saw my vehicle and asked me how I liked it. Floyd Badanish was very helpful from the very first day I stopped in to look at a Toyota Tacoma. All my questions at the time were answered so that I could make an informed decision. I was driving another manufacturers vehicle that wasn't that old. But when I saw that new Tacoma truck parked close to the road as I drove past, I had to look at it. Floyd Badanish came out to help me and I traded in my vehicle right then and there. As time went on and I drove it a while I had some questions as how to change some settings or how does this work so while I had the first free oil change, I went to my sales rep., Mr. Badanish an he answered everything and even showed me some settings I could change on my vehicle after my Tacoma was done being serviced. I still go in to see him once in a while when I have my vehicle in for the oil changes and vehicle inspections that are part of the service that Crown Toyota gives to all their clients. He is always ready to help answer all my questions or steer me in the right direction. Great place, great service and great people.

I had a great experience at Crown Toyota and recommend them to all my friends and family. Our old car died on me when my husband was in the hospital having Cancer removed. We were at U of M and he had complications which kept us there for 12 days. I had to go home to take care of some things, since we were not planning on being in Ann Arbor for that long and my car wouldn't start. Since it was a standard, I was able to push start but didn't want to turn it off during my trip home. I then called all over, no one was as helpful as Tony VanGelder. I have been working with him for the last year, at least, since I knew it was just a matter of time when our car, that had 300,000 plus miles, was going to die on us. I explained my dilemma and how I was going to only have 24 hours to do this. Had to also meet my son and his family at the airport since they were coming into town to be there for my husband. I met Tony and seen the car that he had ready for me. It was a VW Passat wagon. I love it. We had all the paperwork taken care of in less then an hour and I was on my way back to Ann Arbor. This was 3 years ago and I still love my car. I am thinking of getting a newer one and will go back to Crown Toyota since the whole group was very helpful in my worse stressful time ever.

We were looking for a new truck and stopped at Crown Motors in a snow storm. Our salesman was out shoveling snow and we asked him about a Tundra. He told us and we started to drive away when we noticed 4 or 5 Tundras setting in the parking lot. We went back and he let us drive one.When we got back he had another cleaned off and ready for us to drive. He did that with every Tundra that was setting there. While making the deal we wanted Toyota running boards installed. They agreed but had to order them. We took the truck back on Saturday to have the running boards installed and they let us use a car to go to breakfast. When we got back they informed us the wrong ones had been ordered so they washed our truck and filled it up with gas. When the new boards came in they picked our truck up in Muskegon (left us a new car to drive) and installed them and again washed our truck and filled it up with gas. We ended up buying a bigger 5th wheel then we could pull with our Tundra and needed a diesel so I called our salesman (Floyd Badanish) to see what they had. They bought our truck back at a higher rate that any trade in offer we had and Floyd found us a truck at their sister dealer ship and he worked with us through the entore process while we purchased the diesel. Crown motors and Floyd Badanish were great and I would definitely go back there again. Floyd is definetly a salesman that was there for us after the sale.

Better late than never, right? I purchased a certified pre-owned 2008 VW GTI from Tony Van Gelder back in 2011. I saw the vehicle pop up on AutoTrader, sent a brief email and received a phone call from Tony that same night, even though it was after closing hours. We struck a deal over the phone the next morning and Tony arranged to have the car delivered to me in the metro Detroit area. The car was exactly as described by Tony - no strings, no catches, and after driving it, I signed the paperwork and Crown's drivers were on their way back. Tony has been great over the years, providing me with regular follow up. Though I no longer own the GTI, I am eyeing the new MKVII GTI and though there are more than a half dozen VW dealers in my area, I won't hesitate to return to Tony and Crown VW.

Bought our 2014 Toyota PriusV here. The salesman, Mike McLaughlin was great. The business/paperwork experience was not good. Rob Ruger(SP?) wrote down our plate number incorrectly (While license plate was sitting on his desk for him to copy off of!!) This prompted an additional trip to the dealership after they called to say the SOS did not have our plate on file, and the plate transfer was not going through. Got that figured out. Then, same guy-Rob- did not complete our Toyota Financing application and the automatic payment plan was not set up as we were told. Got a nasty letter from Toyota USA saying as much and our near perfect credit rating was at stake. We were not happy and let the Crown manager know. I would NOT deal with Rob but would recommend Mike McLaughlin. Rob was too busy trying to sell us the extended warranty to care that anything else was done correctly.

Tony VanGelder takes a genuine interest in what we are looking for and is very helpful through the process. When we leased a car or bought a used car there were no surprises in the final price. Mike McLaughlin has sold us our last 5 cars. He is very knowable and makes the buying process very easy and pressure free. I feel we got a good deal on our cars without having to search and dicker over price. I went and talked to Mike McLaughlin before I was even ready to buy a vehicle. I was concerned about the dealership and he made me believe that this was the place to buy a car when I needed one. Later I came in and they gave me a great trade-in price on my car and a great price on the Toyota Siena that I purchaced. The maintainence service has been great and when I need to leave it for awhile Mike McLaughlin always has a car for me to use while I am waiting. Great dealership.

I think Mike Mc laughin is a great sales person not a pusher has greqat knowledge of the cars and trucks .We have bought 3 form mike and if someone ask me about are car or truck we always say see mike he takes his time to show all the equipment that is on the car or truck and always has time to talk after the sale.

We were informed of all options available and left to make our own decision without any sales pressure. We always deal with Mike McLaughlin on our purchases and would highly recommend Mike. The possitives of our experience: Great price on this used van, worked hard to get good financing, brought the vehicle to us after partial service. The concerns after the sale: We felt the van was pulling to the right, had them check allignment, they said their mechanic said it ws fine and they did nothing to correct this issue, we also requested to purchase a spare key which they said they were currently out of stock. We later purchased two blank spare keys and called them for a price to cut and program these keys. The salesman that sold us the van said he would give us a special discount for this work if we brought them into their dealership because we bought the van there. While he was checking on a price for this work we contacted another Honda dealership in Grand Rapids to also see how much they would charge for this work, when the salesman from Crown Motors called me back with their "Special discounted price because we bought the van through them", they were wanting to charge us $14.00 MORE than their competitor's dealership for the same work. When we told them we could get the same work done at another dealership for less, they only offered to match their competitors price. Poor service after the sale. This is a big part of what we look for in a car dealership. Although we stated in the remainder of this servey that we would recommend their dealership to a friend or family member, it would be with some reservations. For price and financing-Yes, For price and repairs, and taking care of issues after the sale- Not sure we could go that far yet.
