We bought our first Gibson truck in 2012. We loved our Gibson Truck so much that when we decided to purchase a new truck, of course we called Leo. That truck was supposed to be our last truck. Unfortunately, our truck was totaled in a wreck recently. We knew exactly what to do, we called Leo at Gibson Truck World! Leo was extremely helpful and found us the truck that would fit with our needs, not the truck that he wanted to sell. All the way from the selection process to the purchase, everything was smooth and very easy!!!! Seeing as how we had to drive from Inverness to Gibson Truck World (about two hours), Leo scheduled a time and day for delivery of the new truck. When we arrived, even though we were a little later than expected, Leo was there waiting on us (I think he stayed after work waiting on us). The truck was clean and ready to go! Thank you Gibson and especially Leo, you are the greatest! Hopefully we will not need to buy another truck, but if we do, we will be calling you!!!

To be honest I dreaded the thought of truck shopping having had some bad experiences in the past. But when I drove up and got out I was immediately greeted by Scott who listened to what I was looking for and showed me the perfect truck for me. He was very knowledgeable about the truck and was able to answer any questions that we had. I was able to test drive it to my wife's work, we returned to the dealer and was given a tour through the whole Gibson process. Afterwards the whole paperwork process was painless and pressure free.

After searching for a truck for some time, I made the decision to purchase a 2006 F-250 from Gibson Truck World based on the Warranty, and the marketing that Gibson Truck World presents to prospective buyers claiming that they inspect their trucks for major problems, and repair them before selling them to their customers. I was impressed with this claim, and thought I was purchasing a truck that would give many miles of trouble free service. The day I drove the truck home I discovered a massive power steering fluid leak that left a large spot in the garage. I contacted the service department, and they offered to repair it free of charge. It was a hassle having to bring a truck that I just bought 90 miles from my home for a repair. A week later, a rear main seal oil leak was discovered leaving another spot in the garage. The rear main seal diagnosis and repair took two additional trips to your service center. I should have taken you up on your 15 day exchange policy at that point. However, I was greeted professionally, and the repairs were performed free of charge. The first time I hooked a 6000lb trailer up to the truck was about two weeks after I purchased the truck. On the first trip towing a trailer, the truck began to lose coolant. I had to add coolant two times during that 1000 mile trip. Not wanting to bring the truck back to Gibsons for a fourth time for something that might be minor, I began to research what the problem might be. I replaced the coolant bottle cap with a brand new OEM cap, yet still the problem persisted. At that point, it appeared that the Oil cooler was bad, or the head gaskets were blown. To diagnose, I did a coolant pressure test. The coolant system pressure rose rapidly when the truck was put under a load. This is an indication that the head gaskets were bad. I then contacted John Garrity in the service department-Again. When I explained what was happening with the truck, John made a snide comment in a very unprofessional manner, I didnt know you were a diesel mechanic, and hung up after telling me hed have to look at the paperwork for the truck and give me a call back. He did give a call back, and told me to bring the truck back in for a diagnosis. When I brought the truck back in for a diagnosis, Adam and John did a BlokCheck type combustion leak test, and insisted that the head gaskets were fine. They put on a new degas bottle and cap, I paid for 50% of the bill per your warranty, and I was on my way. The new bottle and cap began leaking on my way home. At this point I was extremely disappointed with the service I received, and began to question whether your technicians know what they are doing. I took the truck into an independent diesel shop near my home, and they diagnosed the problem as blown head gaskets. When I told them about the negative results of the BlockCheck test that Gibsons Truck World had done, they said they had used those tests before, and they rarely work for diagnosing a head gasket problem. They told me the best test for diagnosing that problem is testing system pressure-the test I had done before taking the truck back to Gibsons. At this point, the truck was still under warranty with Gibsons Truck World. However, because of the service I received, I did not want to bring the truck back to your service department. There are two possible reasons for the service I received while trying to diagnose the head gasket problem: Your technicians do not know how to properly diagnose a head gasket problem, or your service department is dishonest, and intentionally denied a head gasket problem knowing that the truck was still under warranty. Regardless of which one of these statements is true, I did not feel comfortable having your service department do any more work on the truck. Because of the unprofessional service I received, I would NEVER RECOMMEND your company to anyone looking to purchase a truck.

Gibson Truck World was great. We walked away with a beautiful 05 F150 Lariat. Yves came out to introduce himself, and he was dressed to work. No, not in a 3 piece, but in sweats and a t-shirt. He is in and out of the garage making sure his trucks are in top condition. Long story short, they've earned my business for life. We live in NC, and GTW is located in FL, but after the experience we had, we'll be making multiple trips down there to purchase their trucks. GTW ROCKS!

At first I was happy with my purchase from Gibson, the people were polite and respectful but once I put a few miles on the truck things started to happen. After only 5000 miles the transmission began to slip badly and wouldn't shift correctly. (new transmission needed) And no it wasn't covered by the warranty (they only cover half of what it would cost them and it has to go to their shop, not worth the trouble being hours away from the dealer) All the U-joints began to make noise and needed to be replaced, and only two tires on the truck were new when bought. The other two had maybe 20% tread left. The trailer tow package also gave me problems and could not communicate with the trailer. Overall, I would consider buying another vehicle from Gibson but I would do a lot more checking over the vehicle. They also don't negotiate on price so don't even try.
