I came to Heritage for a great deal on a 2016 Subaru Impreza. I test-drove it but foolishly did not put a deposit on the car while I consulted with my wife. Sure enough, it was sold within the hour! Thank goodness for May Farris - she took the initiative to scour the area for another 2016 manual Impreza, found one near Pittsburgh, arranged a dealer swap and had the car ready for me 2 days later. My review - I was in the market for a new subaru and this was not my first dealership to stop at. My intention was to shop 3 different dealership and compare. Heratige was my second stop and I was satisfied the third dealership stop was not neccessary. I was satisfied with the price but equally important to me was the salesman's manner and his knowledge. The experience was very good, I would recommed Steve Sherman to family and friend with no hesitation.

Throughout the course of my most recent car-buying experience, this dealership stood out to me above many others, and I was very impressed with the experience I had at Heritage Subaru in Catonsville for many reasons. I was treated with kindness and respect and felt that my voice was truly valued through the entire process. The individuals here were flexible and patient and were happy to review all components of the process with me multiple times. Most important of all, I felt that the individuals here had integrity and were very honest. This is our third Subaru from this dealership, and we have been getting a very good price for very good cars. We purchased the last two (a 2013 Impreza and a 2017 Forester) from May Farris, and she has been helpful, cooperative, and low pressure (her highest pressure pitch was "tell me what you'd like to pay for the car you want and I'll see if I can get it for you"). We didn't need a car with all the features we purchased, but May and her Manager Kevin Engle were able to bring the price down, so the price was good for the model equipped the way we wanted, but great for the model they had on the lot with more features.

My husband and I bought a Subaru Outback from Heritage. Richie was great at answering our questions and very easy to work with. He made the experience easy and comfortable. He also made sure we got a really good trade in value for our old car, which made the buying process that much easier. CJ was the best finance person I've ever worked with. He was quick and knowledgable. And he gave us some great advice about our insurance. May walked us through all the features of our new vehicle after we bought it. She was extremely helpful. Overall, I love my new Outback and I loved my experience at Heritage!

I wasn't planning to buy any cars this year, but I have now bought 2 new Foresters in the last 5 months. The reason? This dealership and its personnel. They make you feel welcome from the minute you walk in the door. There is never any pressure whatsoever. May Farris is absolutely wonderful to deal with - from her warm, sweet personality to her extensive knowledge of the vehicles. She won't let you go home until she's sure you're 100% comfortable with the operation and features of your new car. She invites you to call or come back anytime with additional questions or just basic training. She even set my phone up in another car I hadn't even bought there! Sales manager Kevin Engle runs the showroom operations like a fine Swiss watch. All questions are answered and calls are returned in a timely fashion. All paperwork and financing is handled quickly and efficiently. By the time we sat down with Gabe in finance, all that was needed were signatures and a little bit of money! Buying a car from here was easy. I walked in expecting to just look around and I left the same day with a new car. My sales rep May Farris was very polite and helpful. She did not rush me or try to make me feel as if I needed a car at that moment. Her manager Kevin was the same way. What I appreciated the most was thier honesty and willingness to work with me to get the right deal. I appreciated what they did and enjoyed my car so much I brought my brother back to May and Kevin to get the same car. Whenever I bring my vehicle in foe service everyone is friendly, they compliment my car and the service is fast. This delearshio is amazing. Most cares I see are bought from here (or so I think :) )

I was referred to Steve Sherman at Heritage Subaru Catonsville by both family and friends. Steve was a pleasure to work with and I would definitely recommend his services to others. If you want someone who will treat you with respect, not talk down to you, and even allow you a minute (hour, day, etc.) to think on it without harassing you, then Steve is your guy.The dealership itself was nice although parking can be a challenge depending on the day and time you arrive. As for the remainder of the staff, I had minimal interaction with them but when I did they were friendly.

While waiting for our Forester to get an oil change, we exchanged pleasantries with May Farris, whom sold us the car. She asked if we had questions about anything, and I said I've been wondering about pricing for an Outback, and would it be about the same as our current monthly payment. She said "let me check". Well I knew there was no way we could get a fully loaded Outback at approximately the same monthly payment. Let me tell you that we absolutely love our new Outback! And we love May Farris! There is no one else we will ever buy from, and no other dealership will do.

This is the second car that I have purchase from Heritage and the third in my family (my father also purchase a car from this dealership). I recently moved back to the east coast and although there are Subaru dealerships much closer to me, I drove the 300 miles home to this one on purpose. I negotiated a price before I made the trip up and they were true to their word. On the morning of my appointment I showed up, looked at the car with all the factory installed options, signed all the paperwork, and was back home in 90 minutes. Ms. May was professional and a pleasure to work with during this process. Could not recommend this dealership more for anyone who just wants to have an easy, straightforward car buying experience.

This dealership did my oils change and they did not put the plug back on correctly on my 15 month old 2015 Subaru Forester and the engine blew up. I know nothing about cars. I was driving on the highway going approximately 65 mph when the car engine choked a bit and plumes of black smoke came out of the back of the car. My 5 and 3 year old were in the vehicle. I panicked because I thought the car was on fire. This was a frightening situation. I didn't know what was wrong. When the tow truck driver came and lifted the car, I asked him to check under the car. Within 20 seconds he said, "your oil plug is gone". I wiggled my way under the car and took pictures. Oil plug was gone, the entire bottom of the car was covered in oil including the back of the car. Instead of taking apart the engine to see what damages were done, they hooked the car up to a machine and tested the engine pressure (PSI) at different RPMs. Dealing with Chris Maloney is also another story. He and my service agent Jennifer kept saying "let us help you". Do not tell an angry customer that when you messed up. You are not helping me! You are responsible for fixing the damage you guys caused! And when I brought my ruined car in, Chris told me "if we find that we did something wrong, if we find that the engine needs to be replaced, if, if, if"!! Nice way of trying to cover you ass. But honestly, the fault was with the service and I probably would have reacted different if some sort of apologies and good faith words were provided to acknowledge the error and make me feel as though that you will be covering me for your mistake. In addition, telling me that the person who preformed my oil change was terminated doesn't make me happy. It isn't justification for me. He relied on that income. Maybe he had a family? And if he did have performance issues, why wasn't anyone checking his work? What are your procedures so that these types of simple mistakes do not happen? Also, when I got my loaner, it was mentioned to me to bring back the loaner with a full tank a gas... Until I gave her the "look".. Like really? Mess up my oil change and tell me that I have to fill up the loaner car tank. Excellent customer service. What was offered. The service department offered an extended 100k warranty which I already had on my vehicle when I purchased the car. I already have the extended warranty. So, what now?! I refuse to drive my kids in a car with a messed up engine. Who knows what the extent of the damage is when you just test PSI? I called a few mechanics and they also said that the engine needs to be taken apart to assess the damage. Most likely engine does need to be replaced. Still haven't received an apology. Do not take your car here to get services. I looked up the ratings and it's low. A huge change needs to be made for both mechanical and customer service. Bunch of clowns are working on the car. They don't care. And will it do what is right by the victim. In addition, they have insurance to cover these mistakes. But it's the consumer that gets dinged. I have spoken to a couple lawyers and I would most likely win in arbitration. If you made it this far, you deserve a cookie. If you do decide to take your car here, beware. This probably will not happen again, maybe it will, but this is how I felt about the ordeal. Just a huge menace and a headache! I want a service dealership that cares about their customers and experience.

My car buying situation was a little different. I wasn't in the market for a new car because the Service department at this dealership did not place the oil plug back in and the car's engine blew up as I drove down the highway with my 2 small children. I believed the car was on fire from all the smoke. The service department did not really do much to replace the engine and offered me an extended power train warranty which I already had on the vehicle. I refused to drive away with a car that had a blown engine. So, who came to clean up the mess? Sales. Honestly, trading in and negotiating is always a pain in the xxx. But in the end, I ended up with a 2017 forester for trading in my 2015. I lost $3,000 which totals to $200 a month for 15 months. May Farris was the sales consultant and Shawn was the sales manager. I liked May. She was empathetic to my issue and so was Shawn. I wasn't easy to deal with because I was so angry to how I was treated and because of what happened to my car. Also, Kirk Patel completed my finance paperwork and my tags. I am sure that they are glad it's over. Because I am. I am giving the sales experience a 5 -- I would not say 5 because I shut down completely negotiating the offer. But I wouldn't have been in this situation of the service department didn't mess up my oil change. :/

May Farris helped me choose the right vehicle, took me out on 2-3 test drives, answered my questions, and negotiated a fair price. She was pleasant, attentive, knowledgeable, patient and low key. My wife commented to me that she liked that Ms. Farris wasn't pushy or aggressive. The manager greeted and thanked us, and the financial person efficiently did the paperwork, went over some options, and finalized the sale. All were very professional and helpful. I've enjoyed my new car for about a week now and everything seems to be working fine, but it will take me months to figure out all the bells, whistles, and adjustments. May has invited me back anytime for further help or instructions. I had been a Nissan customer since 1984, but my daughter recommended Subaru. Afterwards, I found out that coincidentally, she had bought her Legacy from May Farris in 2013! I hope that my use of the service department in the future will also be a positive experience.

I came to the dealership to look at and/or test drive the new 2017 outback 2.5i touring model. I didn't have an appointment; however, Ms. May came up to my parents and I and helped us out. She was able to the locate one of those outback (in particular the black exterior) that was on the lot. The test drive was awesome. I ended up getting the brilliant brown exterior (which arrived a few days after my initial visit). Even though, I paid a little more than I had planned, but overall I am very satisfied with my purchase.

Because we bought several new cars from Stephen Sherman, we went back to Heritage to ask him to help us find a used car. As always, he took the time to explains all the features on several cars and answered all our questions so we could make the right choice for us. We decided on a Crosstrek. He went above and beyond to find us the right car and in the color we wanted. The day after we took the car home, he followed-up with a phone call to ensure we had no questions concerning the car. I took my 2015 Subaru in because of a recall. My car was working just fine but they needed to keep it for the better part of a week because they apparently blew several fuses in the process of replacing an ignition relay and destroyed the BIU. When I picked it up, they hadn't put the car back together completely. They had left parts in the cupholder (there are still 2 screws in there). Now, I have no seat belt alarm for the driver's side and the passenger seat belt light and air bag light remain on. The service manager didn't really seem interested in the poor quality of the service he was providing. All he did was apologize. My advice: don't have your car repaired at this dealership.

We recently came in to look at a crostrek or impreza used. Our salesman steve sherman was extremely helpful in looking at any vehicle we chose and let us take a test drive. We debated on new verses used. He was very patient and helpful in answering any questions we had. We decidedon a new crostrek. I had the easiest car buying experience ever. My salesman Jorden Edwards was the best. I am visually impaired. (No I did not test drive the cars) my husband was with me. He was so kind and explained things about the cars clearly and made sure I understood as well as my husband. It was great. Other places we went treated me like I did not exist. They would ignore me becuase it is obvious I will not be driving. This dealership treated me the way they would treat anyone. There pricing was fair, they gave you time to consider, they were not pushy and most of all they did not try to sell things you did not want. It was great I recommend this dealership and I recommend asking for Jorden Edwards by name.

It was a smooth stress free car buying experience. The dealership was busy but the manager found someone to help me with my purchase so I didn't have to wait long. I drove up from Northern VA to see a vehicle I had seen online and wished to purchase. I submitted an online request after-hours and was contacted by the Sales Manager Lola first thing the next morning. She arranged for me work with May as my sales associate. May confirmed the vehicle was in stock and was available for test drive and/or purchase. I told her when I'd be there and she confirmed she'd see me as soon as I arrived.Once I arrived, she was finishing up with another client but pointed me in the direction of the vehicle that she had had retrieved around front for me to view. It was 100% what I wanted! Moments later, she finished with that client and she asked if I wanted to test drive but I didn't need to because I had already test driven it 2x at another dealership. I asked her if we could get it to a certain price, I'd sign the deal (I had done my research and was ready to buy!) She took the offer to her mgr and they agreed to it. We started the process of the paperwork and I was out the door in my new Subaru within 2 hours, which was GREAT for a busy, end-of-month Saturday! Everyone in the dealership was friendly and pleasant (including CJ who did my ppwk with me). I also had my young son with me and they were great entertaining him, being patient with him and giving him fun little things to play with.When we were all done, May gave me hug and my son and I were off in our new car! BUT IT DOESN'T END THERE! In the transaction, I traded in my old car and thought I had cleaned it out thoroughly. Only after I got back home to VA did I realize I left my office garage parking card in the center console of my old car. DOH! I needed it to get into my office garage and would incur a fee to replace it. I emailed May at the dealership the next day and described the item and asked them to go see if she could find it. Since I don't live in the area, I didn't have the luxury of going back to the dealership easily. May emailed me back and found my card and sent me my card!! Fantastic service!!

Customer service is poor, lazy and unresponsive. Took 5 weeks to get a part and complete repair. Left a pristine car absolutely dirty and greasy with hand prints and footprints on interior leather. Called for Manager to give feedback leaving a detailed message. Never bothered to respond. Will not return.

Buying a car is always a very stressful experience apart from being a big financial commitment there is always buyers remorse did I get a fair deal. I was forced to look for a new car having been rear ended badly just a week ago. I did my basic research True cars; KBB; Edmunds etc. and contacted the nearest car dealer in my area was referred to work with Ms. May Farris. From the moment I walked into the showroom she put me at ease. She explained the differences between the Forester and Outback as I had narrowed my choice down to those two models. Once we agreed Outback was the preferred model she walked me thru the very different features within the Outback covered all kinds of information on build of the wagon; interior features; safety gadgets and different trim levels and what they meant for me. She offered a test drive and ensured I used some of the great features like lane change warning; blind spot monitoring; automatic brake system etc.Once we were back at the showroom she was very patient with me no hard sales tactics; she scanned other locations and found me the car with exact specs that I was looking for. At the last minute I changed my mind and requested a car with additional features again she was very responsive and had no problem crunching the numbers again luckily she found a car in their lot. I never met the manager throughout the sale process I was so glad we never went back and forth on the price. At the end of the process she introduced me to her manager Mr. Kevin Engle. He assured me that they dont believe in haggling with customers in all my years of buying new/old cars this was the first time I never had to meet the Sales Manager and plea for a better price. That made me feel so much better coming out of a car accident barely a week ago -- where I lost my previous car for no fault of mine. The Business Manager was Kirk Patel very pleasant to work again he did not hard sell any of protection plans; warranty yet was assertive as to what Subaru recommends among the so many options. He was very flexible to work with on the financing options, down payments etc.May is extremely knowledgeably about Subaru corporation and its cars. She is very approachable, takes time to explain everything; reassures you at every step are you happy; do you have any questions; what else can I do for you. Hope to be back at the dealer for servicing soon and am praying I dont have to seek another car anytime soon but if I ever need to then I know where to begin Russell Subaru in the safe hands of May, Kevin and team.Note - this dealer's location is very deceptive -- they share a building with Mazda and I was wondering would they have a good number of new cars to sell -- I was very surprised to see they have a huge parking lot of new/certified car inventory at the back of the showroom -- May had to drive me in a car to get to the model car we had shortlisted. It was like being in a Walmart parking lot.PS -- I was not paid for this review!!!

Overall I had a great car purchasing experience with Russel Subaru and May Farris. May was incredibly helpful and was quick to reply in email (which I very much appreciated since it is much easier for me to communicate via email). I wanted a specific model that was a 5 speed manual transmission and the dealership was very active about finding one and alerting me when it came in. All in all I left the lot with the exact car I wanted at a very fair price. I will definitely return to Russel Subaru in the future and would recommend the dealership to friends and family.

We shopped at four different Subaru dealerships. Many of that salesmen could not explain the different package/options as they just didn't seem to know their stuff. Before purchasing, we negotiated the prices with the other dealerships. Russel matched the lowest price we got. I worked with Jason Brooks over the phone on several occasions and he was always helpful and timely in answering my questions. When we got to the dealership, May Farris knew the answer to every one of our questions. She walked us through the number of options we could get with each car, and was able to get us a car that had the ideal options and packages for our family. She is the most knowledgeable and kind person we have ever bought a car from. I would buy a car from her because she is open and honest and not at all pushy. We had a fantastic experience!

This is the second time in my 62 year life I have written a bad recommendation. My 5 year old outback started last weekend the check engine light started flashing, brake light, traction control lights all flashing came. Towed to mechanic who contacted subaru and reported Sub Service program upgrade WVU-31 was needed cost about $250. because I have an extended warrenty, gold Plus extended coverage took to Russell Suburu , where car was purchased, with all information. I must say that everyone at Russell was very pleasant to work with, friendly and seemed very interested in my being happy with the service .Today Russell charged me $80. to check engine codes, Russel refused refused the software upgrade because "it was "not needed" and said the check fee was not covered under warranty. Even with supporting documentation from Subaru explaning this was the problem and it was occuring frequently in alot of subarus they refused to upgrade. I am not that worried about the fee but I will not be able to enjoy my vacation because I am worried about the car. I have never used my warranty, I have only been to the subaru service once when I had to go for new car service. I will now have to seek out another subaru repair service that may be able to help me or pay for the upgrade myself. Shame on you.

HORRIBLE TEST DRIVE EXPERIENCEI scheduled a test drive for today with the internet sales manager. I had emailed him several times over the last week and specified very clearly the model I was interested in. When I arrived, I met him, who arranged for a rep to set up the test drive. We sat down at the representative's desk, who informed us that no cars of that particular trim were available for test drive. He asked me whether or not I'd be interested in test driving a different trim and I said, "No," since as a buyer, I'd like to know exactly what I will be buying.He then said he would "go back into the key box" and see if he could find me a model of the same trim on the lot. He indicated that he had a model with the same trim (waving the keys at us) and that he'd be back with the car. 10 minutes later, he walks into the manager's office and engages in a heated discusson with the manager.The manager (I believe his name was Don) walks out and says, "The last model with that trim rolled out last night. We have another model here that is in the shop getting scrapes on the bumper fixed. My question to you is what kind of equipment are you looking to get for this vehicle?"I replied that I wanted to drive the trim that I had requested (Subaru Outback Limited) and that it was clear to me that no such trim was available at the dealership. I also politely expressed my frustration that Jason had arranged a test drive without checking to see whether there would be Subarus of the same trim on the lot. I told the manager that I felt as if my time were completely wasted.The manager, without a beat, said that my time was not wasted - he did not acknowledge my frustration in any way, and not once did he say "I'm sorry that the trim you requested is not available for a test drive today." Message to Russel Subaru: If you schedule a test drive with a customer in advance - and the customer specifies the make, model and trim of what he/she wants to buy - then make sure you have that trim available when the customer comes in to do the test drive. If you don't have the trim available, APOLOGIZE and reschedule. The Subaru manager I dealt with today needs to learn two words - "I'm sorry."I bought my first Subaru at Russel 10 years ago - and it will now be the last Subaru I buy from Russel.

She has such a pleasant, warm demeanor and she never pressured me once (I dread car shopping and was harassed by other dealerships in the past). We bought a Subaru Forrester from Russell Subara/Mazda. Our sales rep was Nick Barnes. He was excellent. We brought in a printout from the internet for the specific car we wanted. He brought it out and took me, then my wife, on a test drive and answered all our questions. He didn't rush us nor did he try to steer us towards something more expensive. He was respectful and courteous and was pleasantly playful with our 5 year old. He offered a paint and upholstery service for the car but we said we were not interested and he didn't bring it up again. It's a great place to buy a car, and when you go there just ask for Nick.

I'm a reasonable guy and I wanted to purchase a car from this dealer but I went to Herb Gordon instead. Here is why. I had to deal with 3 different sales representatives because none of them was able to communicate with me in timely manner. If I ask questions I expect answers but what do they do? They ask me same questions over and over again. I hate to leave a bad review but they need to do something about their lack of communication.I emailed the general manager and the sales managers about my poor experience with their sales representatives but I get no reply from them. That shows a lot of respect for customers.

My car was stolen last month and my sister recommended that I contact Frank Tilghman at Russell Subaru to take a test drive. I explained the situation to him and he was very gracious and took me on a test drive knowing that there was no way I could buy the car at that time. He explained every part of the car and the options. He took his time on the busiest car buying day of the week. When I was ready to buy, Frank was on vacation, so I explained my situation to the Sales Manager and he was fabulous! I believe it takes several things to be in place before you buy a car. Finding the right type of car for your needs, cost is always a major consideration, and the right salesperson/dealership. You know what I meanif the salesperson is too pushy or insincere you just want to leave. Then you are annoyed because you were really interested in a car on that dealer's lot. At Russel Subaru my experience was the perfect mixquality car, good price, and great salesperson. Steve Sherman is undemanding, informative and made the car process less daunting. I will recommend Steve and Russel Subaru to my family, friends, and anyone who is looking for a car.

When my current car started acting up, I went to Russel Subaru to look at my short list of cars. Steve Sherman was very helpful - unlocking cars and answering questions - even though the dealership was very busy and I wasn't looking to purchase a car that weekend. When I was ready to test drive cars, he was great about finding me cars to drive (I was originally looking at the Forester and Crosstrek and particularly wanted a manual transmission). When I decided on a WRX, he found one with exactly the features and color I wanted. The dealership matched, and eventually beat, the price from neighboring dealerships. Had problems from beginning, they put wrong vin number on paper work. We found out when they sent text stating your tags are dead come in so we can issue new tags. Took 3 weeks to schedule 1st oil change, then took 3 1/2 hours to do oil change. Having problems with starlink, told us they were too busy in service department to go to another dealer to have it looked at.

I wanted to take a moment to extend my incredible gratitude and praises to the staff for all of the hard work and persistence they showed with my recent extensive repairs on my car (2011 WRX). It was some challenging work as there were some complicated repairs that I feel were a result of the previous owner before I bought the vehicle used. Their technicians did excellent work and the engine runs and drives like a new car now! It is even running with better power AND fuel efficiency!Additionally, I would like to extend my highest and sincerest praises of Heather and her level of above and beyond service" that she showed to me. Steve Sherman is undoubtedly the best and most congenial car salesman I have ever dealt with. When my wife and I were wandering around the Russel Suburu/Mazda lot looking for Subarus, Steve came out and took us in hand, explained the features of vehicles that were available, took us on test drives that enabled us to get a feel for the cars, and helped us determine which ones suited us best. We narrowed down the options, and decided on an Impreza Limited. We went through TRUCAR come up with the best price, which Russel honored. After we decided on the color and model, I found out Steve was tied up with another customer, so I contacted Kevin Engel, the sales manager, who we had met earlier. Kevin obligingly checked to see if what we wanted was available, and gave me the options. When we went back in the next day, the car we wanted turned out to be in Delaware, and they had sent a retired employee to pick it up and bring it back. Friday afternoon traffic delayed getting it in, so we went back and picked up the next day. Steve had it all ready for us and explained the cars features while standing out in the rain. All the good things written about Steve in the dealership reviews are true, and we were very happy with our experience at Russel Subaru.

Showed up for an 85,000 mile oil change at the service department of Russel Subaru on time...except that I was one week early.. When I realized my mistake and offered to leave and come back on the correct date, Service Manager Heather Wingerd told me to stay and she would fit me in. While waiting to have my oil changed, she came to tell me that the technician noticed a few problems regarding my Subaru Forester. She fully explained the cost and what could be held off until my 90,000 service. I decided to have the work done at this time. She arranged a ride back to my home. When I returned to pick up my Forester, Ms. Wingerd noticed that I had not provided her with any coupons, even though some were applicable to the work done. Noting that I had initially brought in the Forester for an oil change only, she appreciated the fact that I would not necessarily come prepared with coupons for work I was not asking to be done. She then took my total bill, worked in a few available coupons and saved me about 12% off my bill, Clearly, Ms. Wingerd went the extra step for me. This was customer service at the highest level!!!

I recently purchased a car from russel and was pleasantly surprised at the experience. Usually I hate the haggling, upgrades likefire proof wax and just idle xxxxxxxx. Lola removed the majority of this( they still have to sell upgrades for spiffs ) and handed me over to Kevin James who finished the process almost painless.because I was tied up in a refi I had to order the car because I couldn't sign a loan. Lola/Kevin were able to find one locally so that as soon as the refi was finalized the car was available.Unfortunately some where along the line the second key was lost. Hopefully because of this inconvenience I hope they are willing to offer a third free. I will complete the review after the entire process is done

Mr. Lee was very friendly the moment I met him. I have been car shopping for a Subaru Outback 2.5i Limited, and he was able to provide a good deal compared to other Subaru dealerships. He was very kind and showed the new features that were inside the car and showed me how to maneuver and connect to all the new apps that were provided on the dashboard. I came in to test drive a Forester after comparing it to another vehicle I was considering. Steve really knew his stuff and was an absolute pleasure to work with! He was able to answer all of my questions about the Subaru itself, along with questions of how it compared to similar vehicles. He was able to not only match a deal I had from another dealership, but beat it - by a lot. I got more money for my trade in here than anywhere else, and got a great deal on the Forester itself. Since then Ive purchased two other new Subarus and have been pleased with pricing, delivery prep and overall customer service. Steve Sherman is the sales guy that I worked with and he is outstanding. Steve takes time to ensure you fully understand the features and capabilities of the car you are purchasing, and most importantly, he follows up with you after the sale! Danny the sales manager runs a tight ship and he is always to take a few minutes with the customer directly when questions come up. In summary, after purchasing 27 new cars from 11 different dealerships over the past 40 years Russel Subaru is now my go-to dealership when it is time to purchase a new set of wheels.

My fiance and I just purchased our first Subaru from Mr. Yong Lee. We did about six months worth of research before making our big purchase and Mr. Lee was able to get us the best deal for our 2016 Outback. The process went relatively smoothly; however, we did not have a great experience with the Sales Manager, Dan, to the point where we almost cancelled our order. Our experience from this purchase was shall we say interesting.First of all let me say that we were extremely pleased with our sales agent Bettie Jackson and the finance agent and we love our 2015 ForesterOur concern was the lack of professionalism shown to us and more importantly toward Bettie Jackson from her sales support team and or management. If it weren't for the fact that I told Bettie Jackson I'll be back, I would've gone to another Subura dealer.The negotiation process displayed by management and others, were as they work as individuals vs a team. It was this lack of team unity displayed on the sales floor that disappointed us.My suggestion to Russell Subura is to reevaluate there management's professionalism , customer service and more importantly their team building skills - when it is displayed on the sales floor for customers to see and hear.Kudos to Bettie Jackson and other well meaning associates to work in an environment where employees are not treated as the organizations number one asset.Like I said, we Love our 2015 Subura Forester and look forward to when I can trade my 2015 Toyota Camry in and get one too.Richard Hooper

We sat down with Bettie R. Jackson and she found out what we had in mind. We test drove almost one of everything. We found the one we wanted in the color we liked and the options that appealed to us. It was getting late when we sat with Dellare Mclaughlin and found our finances in order. I got to drive our new Subaru Crosstrek home well after midnight. It was quite a pleasant experience. Based on the Consumer Reports review, especially the safety rating and eyesight option, we bought a Subaru Forester last February for our teenage daughter to drive. Our salesman Steve Sherman was genuinely nice and friendly and fair, and made the buying experience straightforward and stress free (which is not always the case when buying a car!). We got a great deal on a great car. We liked the Forester so much that we traded in my wife's car and bought a second Forester from Steve last week. If I didn't need a truck for work we'd probably have 3 Foresters.

We came in on Saturday to look at a car we saw online. We were told the car was in service, but that it was available. We did a test drive. We made plans to come back in today (Monday) to buy the car. After waiting for two hours this morning, we were finally told that the car was sold to someone else. We inquired about another car and were told it was $21K, but we had seen it online for $19.9K. We were given the run around and had our time wasted over a car they had already sold to someone else. They did nothing to try to make the incredibly bad customer service right, they just kept wasting our time. I would not waste my time here. Go somewhere else!

I appreciated the professional way everything was handled and willing to accept and match my USAA pricing. There was an understanding that I knew what I wanted and only needed to see what the cost would be for the Outback. The whole process was excellent without the games. I did not have to be sold on the automobile I wanted as I was replacing an Outback and wanted another one. After I picked the color, extras and price, Steve went to work and got exactly what I wanted. After the purchase, I also thought everyone I worked with were pleasant and explained everything well.

Great service, great SUV and I fell like I got a great price. The entire team were so friendly and caring. I started shopping for a 2015 SUV and did not have any specific model in mind so I started researching. I stopped in at Russel Mazda to drive a drive a Mazda CX-5 and ended up also driving a Subaru Forester and learned so much about it from the salesman Steve Sherman. He spent nearly three hours with me showing me around, driving the vehicles, talking about our daughters and life in general. Yeah, I realize that is what salesmen do but it was truly a great experience. In the end of all of my researching, driving different SUV's I honestly still wasn't fully decided but I ended up coming back to Subaru and getting an awesome deal and I now have an awesome 2016 Subaru, not a 2015 SUV in my driveway! Best experience ever so anyone searching for a Mazda or Subaru should stop in and I bet you will receive the same great experience that I received.

I've had 2 used Toyotas and 3 new Toyotas but decided to switch to Subaru as they have a better safety rating. This dealership is great. My salesperson, Steve Sherman, was amazing. He was knowledgeable, professional and funny. Will definitely go there again! Highly recommend my guy!

I feel compelled to write this as I have not had a worse experience purchasing a vehicle. It started well as I had taken in another vehicle into service, a 2006 Subaru Legacy, and my service guy was Finn. Finn gave me a loaner vehicle while my vehicle was being worked on. My vehicle was in service for about two months when I decided that I would just trade it for a newer model. I met with a sale associate on Wednesday August 5th and decided on a vehicle. I came in the next day to test drive my vehicle as it was in another city. I test drove a 2013 Subaru Legacy Sport and then purchased it. The problem came when I was working on the deal with my sales associate. The sale price of the 2013 was $18,900, and I was offered $8,000 for my trade. I did not want to fiance more than $10,000 and was looking for $900.00 more on the trade, or for the car to be reduced by $900.00. After some back an fort my sales associate, Mr. White, went to his supervisor and when Mr. White came back he gave me the typical "Congratulations". Mr. White stated that my offer would be accepted and I was ready to purchase. Mr. White then left to work on the financing piece and then came back with the details of the purchase. As I looked over the details I realized that I did not receive the other $900.00. Mr. White did not tell me that the purchase was not being reduced by $900.00, and when I questioned him about it he said that the district manager was in and over ruled his supervisor. I told Mr. White that we shook on the previous deal and that he told me I would be getting the additional $900.00 of help and that he needed to make it right. He then went to the district manager who came to speak to me and he told me that several people messed up on my deal. He told me that my trade in was not worth $8,000 and that it was worth $5,000 at the most. I told him that me and the sales associate shook on the previous deal and he then asked the sales associate if this was true. The sales associate verified that we did shake on the previous deal because his supervisor approved it, but the district manager was not willing to honor it. He stated that if I did not want to make the deal without the extra $900 of help then he would be happy to just let me walk because he was losing money already. My current car had already been at the dealership for over 2 months so I just took the deal. I could have not been more unhappy with the district manager and how I was treated. I also work for a local hospital that has purchased 7 Subarus from the dealership. I like Subarus, sadly I will not be back and I will ask that my hospital take the business elsewhere as I was the one responsible for obtaining all of our Subarus. I hope $900.00 was worth it Mr. District Manager.

Our salesperson was Kevin James. He was excellent in his ability to make us feel comfortable and very knowledgeable about all the models. He was very patient with us and our questions and spent all the time necessary to make sure we understood. There was ever any high pressure or pushing us in one direction or the other. Ten years ago I purchased 2 Subarus from Steve Sherman. One for our daughter then a Senior in High School and one for myself. It was like parting with a old friend when I decided to get a new Subaru. How do you say good-bye to a car that never let you down. My Subaru never had a sick day only well check up appointments. Steve Sherman hasnt changed a bit. Which is a good thing. We picked up right where we left off ten years ago. Only my car had aged not Steve or I. Lol. Steve still had his great personality. It was and still is a pleasure to do business with a man of Steves high quality of care and concern for his clients. From test driving to sealing the deal Steve made it a good experience . Cannot say enough good things about our salesman, Steve Sherman. We love the cars, but Steve is the reason we keep coming back to Russel to buy and service our vehicles. Working with Steve, you will get the car you want at a fair price and someone who will be there to make sure you are treated right, long after the sale. Service prices are reasonable for a dealership, especially when coupon specials are available. There are several closer dealers (Russel is about 40 miles from home), but are satisfied with the service, so keep coming back.

This was our first Subaru purchase and the process went smoothly. I wanted a 2015 CrossTrek XV with specific features and one matching my requirements was not on their lot so after trying to find one locally my car was ordered with a short wait (with their apologies but I understood I would have to wait for what I wanted.) I had negotiated a price for the vehicle and my trade-in, and when the vehicle on order arrived it had additional features I had not negotiated to purchase, but the original price was honored without a hassle. My trade-in was also not in the same condition as it had been when we negotiated it, but the value there was honored, too. Mr. Lee (our salesman) kept us informed about the order progress and did everything they could to expedite delivery of the car I wanted. They were honest and helpful throughout the process. We had bought a Mazda from Russel and had a good service experience so we will be returning with our Subaru, too, for service. The car is spectacular, could not be more pleased with it.

If you are looking to buy a new car, go to another subaru dealership. They will want to check your credit score before letting you test drive a car. Then, you will get a test drive around the parking lot. We have owned many different cars and have been to many different dealerships - this one was the worst experience. Buying my car from another subaru dealership and so should you, trust me.

I had narrowed my Subaru model down to only the Crosstrek before I visited; Steve Sherman listened to what I said and the visits went smooth, culminating with me driving away with a new Subaru on my 3rd visit. I was lucky that a Crosstrek with very similar options to my desired list was on hand. I got what I wanted (the differences were minor and inexpensive); I'm sure they were happy to sell a car from the existing inventory. My experience could not have been better; this is my first Subaru, what a nice way to start my ownership experience!

I would avoid this service department at all costs. In my opinion, they are incompetent. I recently went through an absolutely terrible experience there that involved the whole department. Thankfully it all worked out but only when I took my car to a different dealership.I would strongly advise against taking any vehicle to this service department.

DO NOT EVER BRING YOUR CAR HERE FOR SERVICE!!! I had my car here more than 10 times in one year to fix a problem from the body shop which service dealt with that they should have fixed in the very beginning. Oh forgot to mention when I got my car back from the body shop days after they did not even fix the axle right which I had to bring back which wasn't even the main issue. They have real good techs and some decent techs that do a half fast job with a service manager named Jim something who just wanted to throw me under the boat. One should not be bringing there vehicle here where they don't know how to diagnose the problem and wants to charge you for the diagnostic fee for something that started from this company!! I finally decided to take my car to another place pay them the diagnostic fee in which they new exactly what the problem is and fixed it the correct way!! What bothers me is how people here at this dealership could not figure out the problem and did not want to take the blame at all for what they did wrong. I want to be discreet so I am not going to tell you in detail what part but its a part that should have been replaced when the car was in the shop from the accident. Oh by the way this part costs over a thousand thousand dollars that affects the drive-train of the car which thankfully since it was accident related my insurance covered it a another dealership. If you do not want to go through what I went through do not come here.

Ready to buy, pay in cash - no one seemed interested in closing a sale. The sales person had limited knowledge of the cars. Overheard another sales person complaining loudly about customers - if you don't want to work with customers, then don't be in sales, but certainly don't gripe about them when other customers are in the store! Went to a competitor to buy the car and check on their pricing. Unfortunately Russel was the only dealer with the car I wanted. Russel put a hold on the car, knowing I was going to another dealer to check competitive pricing, so that the car couldn't be transferred. I have heard complaints from other buyers about this dealership - don't give them your business.

Customer service even from the manager was poor. Superficial attempts at good service are condescending. I had a check engine light come on that was never resolved. My complaints were not taken seriously and now I have engine failure. The mechanics didn't seem to know anything about my car. They simply follow a checklist procedures that gets spit out from a computer. I received no service recommendations. I asked about a 90k service but no one ever followed up on it or helped me explore that service option. My car was never washed although I have returned for service four times. The sales person in parts was rude. The cashier seemed annoyed to be asked to do her job. Isaac was very nice and the loaner car lady was great. Ultimately, I had to take my care to Agile Automotive where the problem was addressed immediately.

I came to Russel for a routine service of the Mazda I had purchased from them 6 years ago. While waiting in the waiting room, I decided to go look at the new Subaru Outbacks to kill some time. A new sales person approached me and was very friendly and so non-pushy that I thought perhaps she wasn't a sales lady at all. She let me get into a few different versions of the Subaru Outback and sort of just let me look which is all I wanted to do. I wasn't there, afterall to BUY a car, I was there doing a maintenance repair on my existing car! She seemed to understand that but yet didn't make me feel like I was wasting her time.Turns out, I fell in love with the car. Voilet worked with her manager Bill to evaluate my existing car's value (as a possible trade in) and they put together some numbers and options very quickly to meet my desired monthly payment. No hassle, no haggling, no guilt. I even ended up going with their finance offer as they came in at a lower interest rate than my normal, long-time bank, USAA, which was surprising to me! I felt good when I walked out of there although my husband jokes that I acted a bit impulsivley. I blame it on Russel for making it so easy.

I wanted a quality automobile with head room, leg room, nice interia with power that would last. So I went to Russel Subaru. I met Violet (sales Lady) who had only been selling vehicles for three weeks. Violet was suchA pleasure to work with. She was very honest with me during the whole process. I met Bill (Manager) who came out to put the tags on my car. All of the folks at the dealership went out of their way to make the car purchase a pleasant experience. I have had Subaru vehicles since I could drive. This is the only dealership that has treated me with respect. I have walked into other dealers where they just lie to my face. I know I'm a woman but I am far from stupid! Bobby helped me with the purchase of my new Impreza. Throughout my whole experience, I was treated very nice. Thank you! Without a doubt the best car buying experience I have ever had. Bobby greeted us, ask us what we wanted and the deal we were expecting and he made it happen. It happened just like that. They had the exact car and model with the right options and we were done in a matter of a couple of hours.If you want a no nonsense approach and want to get away from the greasy, cheesy car sales guy then you should just go directly to see Bobby and get it done right.

The bottom line is, he took my information, spoke to his finance person and his sales manager, and was gut level honest without wasting anyone's time about whether or not they could get me financed.They knew they couldn't, so he was honest.HOW RARE FOR A CAR DEALERSHIP!!Someday, I will go there for a car when I can get the financing.Jorge...an honest car salesman.

Monday I took my Outback in because the tire pressure sensor kept blinking after 15 minutes. The technician reset 7 codes and took it for a test drive for 25 minutes and told me it was fixed. I got 15 minutes down the road, and it started blinking. I pulled over and called the dealer and they insisted it didn't come on. I found out later, from the technician's supervsior, Walter Porter, that the tech had the afternoon off and wouldn't be able look at my car again. It's obvious that he said it was fixed only because he wanted to leave and didn't want to take the time to do the job right. I was charged $60 for nothing. I took my car back 2 days later and they told me 3 sensors were bad but encouraged me to replace all 4 "just because". These sensors are supposed to last 10 years/100,000 miles and my car is only 3 1/2 years old with 38k miles. It is obvious that this dealer is skimming for every penny while providing inferior service.
