Last weekend, I decided it was time to get a new car. Like a lot of people, I usually put car shopping on a par with getting root canal work done. To ease that pain, I began researching my vehicle of choice on the inter-webby thing, and used the free car buying service TrueCar to build the car, and gather quotes from local dealers. Being a NJ resident, I had initially discounted buying a car from an out of state dealer fearing a lot of hassles with taxes, etc. After a particularly frustrating visit to one of the local dealers, I figured I would reach out to Island Hyundai. The exceptionally knowledgeable and helpful staff at Island Hyundai answered all of my questions, and calmed my fears about buying out of state. I made arrangements to visit the showroom, and was met by Richie, who introduced me to Anthony Rodriguez. The Truecar deal that I had selected from the emailed choice of cars, was discussed and honored. Anthony went above and beyond to assist in any way he could while in no way pressuring me. Everyone else I met there was genuinely friendly to a fault. I felt more like a guest at a family gathering, than a sale target at an a auto dealership. I am very happy to have made the call, visited, and purchased my vehicle from Island Hyundai. While some other car dealers may rank on par with root canal, my experience here was pain free dentistry. This is my fourth lease and have never experienced any mechanical or other problems with these cars aside from a minor odor in the car which I was able to repair myself by replacing the cabin filter. I feel you can't get a better car for the money and highly recommend the Elantra.

I bought my 2016 Hyundai at a dealership other then Island Hyundai but brought it to island for a service repair. When I gave my vehicle to Island my vehicle had perfectly fine undamaged like new license plate frames on it from the dealership where I purchased it from. When I picked up my vehicle the License plate frames were switched to Island auto group frames without my knowledge or consent. The work was not recorded on my receipt or work order and was never mentioned to me. Also a rim was damaged with a deep scratch. I returned to the service Dept, addressed service manager Dante Lopez, and demanded my license plate frames back. He said he doesn't have them and said he will remove the frames they put on my vehicle. I told him no, I don't want them to touch my vehicle ever again and he responded fine we don't want your business anyway. I notified Hyundai corporate headquarters and filed a formal complaint, they told me the service Dept has no right to do what they did. I also contacted my attorney. Beware check your vehicle over very closely if you do business with this, in my opinion, crooked place.

This was the 6th vehicle I purchased/leased from this facility (5 at Manfedi Hyundai and 1 at Island). The biggest downfall is having to wait 3 hours for the vehicle to be ready for delivery. In every other past vehicle, I would make a purchase 1 day and pick up the vehicle the next day. This time around, everything (from lease to pickup) was in 1 day. This is one area that needs improvement.

Having dealt with Manfredi since 2008 I thought they were good. However when Manfredi sold his interests in his dealerships and Island took over I was really concerned on how this was going to affect me since I was leasing. As it turns out I didn't have to worry because the minute I went to see Larry Farina he put all of my worries aside and assured me that Island was very good a d that I would receive just as good treatment as before and probably better with Island. He assured me that Island works well with their customers and everyone who was a Manfredi customer has felt the change and the good treatment that they give. Larry and his coworkers were very friendly to anyone walking in. I will be a customer with Island as long as Larry is on board. I met some of the other salesmen and saw how well they were taking care of the people as they came in. I hope they are all there for a long time.

Getting our new car at Island Hyundai was one of the best experiences over more than 20 years leasing different makes of cars at multiple dealerships in New York City and Long Island. The sales staff are very professional and very nice people do deal with. We completed our deal including test drive within about two hours. Two weeks later the car was waiting for us at the dealership's door when we cameto pick it up early in the morning and an hour later we were on our way for the first drive in the excellent Hyundai Genesis. Overall that was very pleasant experience.

I brought my 2007 Santa Fe in for servicing with no intention of replacing it. I was reading my book in the show room waiting to hear about my car when I was approached by Mr. Poma who volunteered to inquire about the status of my car. While waiting with me for an answer John very casually asked if I would be interested in looking at a 2017 Santa Fe turbo sport, which I did and test drove. I told him my wife would have to see the car but she was not with me then. John said he would drive the car to our house so that my wife could see and drive it. This car had all the bells and whistles which we would be interested in if we were in the market foe a new car. PS. We both went back to the dealership, trade in the just reoaired 2007 Santa Fe and bought the 2017 turbo. Easy peeze, no hastle experience which was far diffenent from other dealerships we had delt with in the past. Both Hyundai and others.

I must say that I have had several cars and been to several dealerships and my sales guy pete Scala will be the only guy I recommend from now on. Honestly he was funny, he helped me figure out what I needed in my car because I'm about to have my first child. Finding a car that's safe and big enough for a car seat and room still for bags and other needs I'm going to have, is huge! It's rare you find someone that takes their time to hear you out because I can be a handful, I know that. "I co-signed with my daughter for the 2016 Tucson. Her Mazda lease was about to end and we started shopping around; we wanted a safe vehicle as well as a fair price. We went to a few other dealerships the same day we went to Island Hyundai, which was our last stop of the day. We were nicely greeted by our sales consultant, Darren Velez. From the moment we were invited into the showroom (we were looking at the Tucson outside) we felt comfortable and at ease. We got to see, learn about, and test drive the Tucson, which was the vehicle my daughter ultimately chose. He took his time with us and answered every question, all the while making us feel at ease. We knew we weren't being pressured into something we didn't want or extras we didn't need. We discussed some possible estimated numbers and left for the night, as we needed to get in touch with the company we leased the Mazda through and find out some details about the end of lease agreement. Darren Velez contacted both myself and my daughter about the details and a pick-up date for the Tucscon that worked for us and our busy schedules. On the day of pickup, Darren did not disappoint as he greeted us and got us ready for our meeting with the Financial Manager, Peter Barone. Peter was another excellent addition to this whole experience - not only was he friendly and knowledgeable, but we had a lot in common, which made the process of signing paperwork the complete opposite of the usual long and often draining to the comfortable and enjoyable. Once we completed our paperwork, Darren took us to see the new vehicle! He went over every single solitary detail one could think of as well as answered more of our questions. We would like to give Peter Barone and Darren Velez the highest review possible. Our only regret is that we cannot give them a review score higher than a 10! Originally, I had went to Freehold Hyundai to look at the 2017 Elantra. The man I dealt with was completely pushy, and made me feel very uncomfortable. He refused to go any lower with price and was completely ripping me off. I left that place with never looking back. I then went to Island Auto Hyundai because I originally leased my car from Manfredi which was prior to Island Auto. Anthony C., was so nice and did not make me feel uncomfortable at all. He was not pushy at all, he was extremely willing to work with price, he wanted to help me with what I was most comfortable with and he was very honest and trustworthy. He informed me about everything I needed to know about the car and showed me everything when we went for a test drive and when I was about to take the car home. Whereas Freehold, took me for a test drive, but did not show me anything I needed to know about the car, all he wanted was a sale and that is all he cared about. Anthony, is always checking up on me to see how I am doing and how I am doing with the car. He constantly tells me to call him if I ever need anything and is extremely helpful. He always keeps reminding me to call him when I need my car serviced and when it needs an oil change so that he can set up the appointment for me. I absolutely had such an amazing experience, I will highly recommend it to everyone.

Darren was our sales representative and was very informative on the vehicle and not pushy at all. He allowed us ample amount of time to make our decision and spent an adequate amount of time with me upon receiving the vehicle. He explained everything thoroughly and helped pair my phone with the Bluetooth feature as well as the BlueLink feature. Overall, I had a great experience at Island Hyundai purchasing my first car and will likely recommend them to others!

Richie Armstrong called me and invited me to come into the dealership as the lease on my 2013 Sonata was soon to be ending. I set up an appointment with him and he spent hours with me seeing to it that I received the car the same day. This is the 3rd card I've purchased with Richie and he has maintained my trust. Love the new car so far! Richie helped me to set up my appointment for remote start up. He's continued to demonstrate professionalism and follow up since I've met him. He also contacted me a couple days after my purchase that my registration was set to expire in a few weeks and helped facilitate that for me as well.

Thanks for a great car. Later I discovered very interesting thing in the car:on the floor where the seatbelt in connected to the body of the car there were pieces of broken glass. It might be that the window or smth was broken during transportation. It's minor thing but still catched my attention

Do not trade in your old lease with them. They are a scam and you will have your old dealership harassing you looking for the returned lease and charge you unbelievable late fees. They pretend they are returning the car and once you sign the paperwork for the new car, they wont return your phone calls and leave you with unbearable amount of dept.

Freddy Bosco was the bomb! I got a chip on my trunk of my car and I didn't know what to do so I gave Freddy a call and he asked me for the color so he could match the paint and told me to come down the next day. I had left a Hyundai dealership in New Jersey feeling pressured and disappointed. I had dealt with Steve Scordato on a previous car deal and again he treated my husband and I with the same professionalism. We never felt pressured and he, as well as Ignazio Giuffre went out of their way to spend a lot of time with us and offered us many options and made sure we were happy and comfortable with our purchase. Steve also spent a lot of time explaining all the great features of our Tuscan. Overall a great and stress-free experience and I would recommend them highly!!
