Update ( addition to 1st original post, below this), April 2021: so my 2012 Outback was totaled after I got rear ended a month ago. I replaced it with a 2017 Outback that I took to Lee’s Summit Subaru to be serviced. Always amazing, courteous, honest, welcoming service department. I go out of my way to get service at Lee’s Summit Subaru. I appreciate the snacks. That particular day, I had to skip lunch after a meeting to get to my service appointment and the complimentary snack was a godsend. Post service information was thorough and the people show they really care!!! I highly recommend Lee’s Summit Subaru!!!! ——————————————————- 1st post I want to first state that I did not buy my 2012 Subaru Outback from Lee's Summit Subaru; however, I did receive 5 star service as if I had bought the car new from them. First, I scheduled a Saturday AM service appointment online a week beforehand. I thought it was weird when I never received a confirmation online or otherwise from them, so I called early the morning of my appointment to make sure I was in the schedule. I wasn't, but the kind lady on the other end said it was no problem, that they would get me in that day. Already I was impressed, esp. for a Saturday. When I got there, the folks, specifically Greg R. --was extremely nice and right off the bat, he asked if I would need a loaner car. In all my experiences with other car dealers...even ones whom I have bought from ----new---- I have never been ASKED if I would need a loaner car...I would always have to ask...and MIGHT get one if I was lucky! This was great as it allowed me to get some errands in (with my 13 y.o son, too) that I would never have been able to do without the loaner car. About 3 hours into my car being serviced, I got a nice call from Greg letting me know the status of my vehicle and some additional maintenance the car needed (my brake pads were thin). I never felt pressured or "conned" into getting extra service tacked on...and....when I went to pick up my car, Greg thoroughly went over what was done. Because of this great service, Lee's Summit Subaru is my 1st choice for scheduled service/ maintenance on my Subaru, and it would be the first local dealer I would consider if I were up for buying a new or used Subaru in the future. Until then, I will definitely spread the news of my own positive experience with them. They KNOW how to treat people RIGHT. Thank you all!!! You're the BEST!!!!!

I really enjoyed my car buying experience! Daniel was very helpful to me, he was so nice and polite. He did everything he could to help me get the car I wanted. The process was a quick smooth easy transaction. The other staff was also kind and helpful. I would definitely recommend buying a car from here. I also would buy from them again. Thanks Lee Summit Subaru!

I’ve been coming to this location for service since 2011 for my Impreza. The service has been good, and I wouldn't take my car anywhere else. I have over 140,000 miles on my car and it still drives great, no major issues. My only compliant is, the tire checks seem to be up and down. One check my tires are like new, the next check... the tech tells me my tires are on their last leg, and the next they’ll be fine again. So not sure what’s going on there. Other than that, my overall experience has been great.

I hesitate to share my views, as I see the sarcastic responses below from the business manager. I feel I've made myself clear with every person I've worked with there, so this is not my only "platform" of complaint. I have a very old Subaru that needed a lot of work when I bought it used this year. I got great service from Brad when I went in with my father (a longtime customer) to get major things fixed. A few months later, I had a catastrophic breakdown that ended up costing $5000 at an out-of-state dealership. I do NOT blame Brad or his colleagues for this, but was very disappointed not to hear back from him when I called him, in great distress, after my breakdown. I just wanted his feedback, as his client, on what I could have done and what I should do now that I was stranded at an unfamiliar dealership. More recently, I dealt with Greg S. and received great face-to-face service and frequent updates, plus the use of their lovely loaner car. That said, when I got my own car home, I noticed that all my old, dirty parts had been...tossed in my trunk? I called Greg and he was not too interested. Most frustratingly, I had asked him if, since he had my car for two full weeks, someone could please just spray a can of lubricant onto my very squeaky undercarriage while they were at it. I've now driven it for a week and regret to report that I do not think Greg was truthful when he told me that had been done.

I had a wonderful car buying experience at Lee’s Summit Subaru! Steven Carrol was the sales associate I dealt with directly and he did an incredible job, making sure everything was up to snuff. I cannot recommend buying a vehicle through him and their team enough. Everyone at Lee’s Summit Subaru is dedicated to quality vehicles and customer care. I will definitely be buying another vehicle through this dealership!

We had the best experience at LS Subaru. McCall and Jason Brink were amazing to work with. We test drove a few and then wanted to think on it for a while. McCall was patient and understanding and answered all of my questions. When we came back, she had cars ready for us that she knew we were interested in. The trade in and negotiations were fair and reasonable. Everyone was so nice and friendly. They treated us very well! I love my Subaru too. I had never owned one before my Outback. I absolutely love the car. We have had no issues with it and it is the perfect car for a family in sports. The 6 months of Serius Satelite radio was a huge bonus! I highly recommend Lee's Summit Subaru!

A few bad reviews about the salesmen are prompting me to write this review. We have bought 2 new subarus from this dealership and both times had Courtney assisting us with our purchase. She is helpful and not at all pushy. As a matter of fact, it took us a whole year the first time we purchased our outback to finally sign the papers. We will absolutely buy from this dealership again if she is the one helping us through the process. The opposite of a slimy, pushy car salesman, she is helpful and only tries to give you what you want.

We did a test drive at Lees Summit Subaru. Afterwards, we recieved lits of spam emails from the sales department. One, of which, advertised that they would beat any competitors price by $500, if they had the vehicle in stock. I checked thier online inventory, and confirmed that they did have the car in stock. I contacted Daniel via email, and asked him if they would honor the offer they advertised in the ad. He responded"absolutely". I was contacted by Beth the next morning, who verbally confirmed the deal and asked when I could come in. I was not in town, so I set an appointment for the following Friday. During the time between my correspondence with Lees Summit Subaru, and my appointment, the matching car fron thier online inventory was removed. I arrived at the time of my appointment. I had to get another emoloyee to find Daniel. Daniel did not have any paperwork prepaired. He then went to his sales manager, and came back with the EXACT offer I asked him to beat, and even had the audacity to tell me the $500 off the quote was applied. When I pointed out to hin it was not, he acted surprised and went back to his sales manager. Daniel then informed us they could not honor the verbal agreement because the car was not in stock. I got up and left. One week later I was contacted by Paul, the internet sales rep, and was asked how the numbers looked on the price they had offered. I informed him of what happened, that we had purchased a Subaru fron someone else, and that I would be posting my feedback on the internet.

We purchased a 2016 Forester and went through all the steps required to buy the car. I explicitly stated what I wanted (which was not to be goaded into buying all the "extras" the finance people want to sell you) and said what I wanted in the deal. Got the usual run around that we would still have to sit down with finance, and as expected, got the hard sell on buying an extended warranty. I stated I didn't like what was going on, left to cool off and came back to the dealership. Talked to the salesman and sales manager, who gave lip service to what had happened, then sent me back in the the finance guy who all of a sudden cut the warranty down to less than half his original offer. My biggest complaint with this dealership is no one EVER returns phone calls, unless you become a pest. I'm still looking for the paperwork that further explains the warranty. Very poor follow through!!

Before I explain my experience with Lee Summit Subaru of Kansas City let me first tell you the circumstances of our situation. A situation which we explained very clearly to the people we dealt with at the dealership. My wife is in the army and was stationed at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. She had just gotten her orders and was to report to Fort Drum, NY in just under two weeks from the day we set foot in the dealership. At that point we had not decided on whether or not to buy the car in Kansas or wait until later. The Lee Summit dealership happened to have exactly the car we were looking for on the lot and offered us a reasonably good deal. We were aware that there had been a recall on the 2016 Outbacks that we were looking at but were told by the salesman that this one had not been subject to the recall. This is the series of events that followed;Literally moments after we finished signing the paperwork that gave us possession of the car the salesman came into the finance office and informed us that he had just run the VIN again and that the car was in fact due to be repaired for the recall issue. We asked how long that takes and he said that the repair takes about an hour, which would have been fine. He then says that they dont have the parts on hand and they are waiting for a shipment any day now. We say OK, when can we have our car? Because, as we told him, we are on a somewhat tight schedule though we could wait a few days. He said he would let me know the next day. I got no call. I got no call the day after that either, so I called him and he said they still didnt have the parts but he would let me know. I waited another day and a half and received no call. So I called but couldnt get him on the phone so the receptionist put me through to the repair department. They told me that they had no record of my car, had no idea what I was talking about. After putting me on hold and presumably going and finding someone in sales he told me that they had parts for some cars but that we were 13th in line for the repair and they didnt have that many parts on hand and wasnt sure when they would get more. I waited another day and called back, this time talking to the sales manager and told him that if we didnt have our car that we were going to have to drive the loaner to NY and possibly to WA since my wife was immediately deploying and I was going to WA for the summer. I really didnt want to drive the loaner and deal with whatever complications that would entail. It seemed logical to me that since everyone whose car was in line for the recall also had a loaner that they would not be too put out if they bumped us up in line because of the circumstances. That didnt happen and we ended up having to drive the loaner to NY. Eventually, and after several more phone calls that I had to make to the Sales Manager rather than him keeping us informed, our car was ready to be shipped. At this point he basically washed his hands of the situation, telling me that he had handed off the information to the shipping company and to just deal with them. The shipping company told me we would have the car in about three days which was reasonable. Three days later I hadnt heard anything so I called and they said that they hadnt even picked the car up yet. Once they did finally ship the car the person in charge of the company told me he had no idea where the car was or when it would be delivered and gave me the number of the driver. He also initially said that they would drop our car off one day and send a different driver to pick up the loaner. This made no sense for several reasons, but eventually they worked it out. The driver was the only person in this whole process who was remotely helpful and responsive. He said that he didnt know why they had told me three days back then but that it would still be several days before he made it to us and that he would try to arrange his schedule to get it there quicker and keep us up to date, both of w

He said that he didnt know why they had told me three days back then but that it would still be several days before he made it to us and that he would try to arrange his schedule to get it there quicker and keep us up to date, both of which he did and I greatly appreciated. So in all, once we finally did get our car, it had been over a month since we had purchased it. Which means that the temporary tag had expired. Which leads me to another detail: apparently we had failed to initial something on the original paperwork which was something the sales department needed. To register the car we needed the certificate of origin which the dealership didnt have but knew we needed before we left their shop. They overnighted the paperwork to be initialed but neglected to send the certificate of origin. So that was a couple more days of waiting before we could register the car. In the meantime it was time for her to deploy and for me to drive cross country. Without plates. Thankfully the delivery driver suggested putting the dealer plates from the loaner car on until we got the official ones.Moving, preparing for deployment and buying a new car are all stressful events on their own. Doing them all at once even more so, but under normal circumstances it wouldnt be so bad. The Lee Summit dealership made this process immeasurably more stressful, frustrating and difficult through what seems to be ineptitude at every level. This whole situation could have been avoided by simply bumping us up in line for repair. I would have had very little effect on the other customers who live in the area and had loaner cars. I cant begin to tell you how happy I am that we dont live in that area and have to deal with them any further. We love our new car, now that we finally have it, but would never recommend anyone purchase a car from that dealership.

We had been looking for just a week for a reasonable priced car that was reliable and with low milage. Once we found it online we did our research and then headed to the dealership. The Steve with sales was great. Brought the car out for us to look at and we did a quick test drive. The price was right in our budget and with the car still under warranty we knew it was the one we wanted. We went to talk with Johnny in Financing and he was able to get the monthly payments in our budget. It was the best experience I've had at a dealership. I will defiantly be coming back when we are ready for a new car.

I brought my fiance with me to look at a car. My fiance even noted I was looking for a specific car. When the sales person got out his card I reached to grab it and he went past me to give it to my fiance instead.

I purchased a vehicle from this dealer in 2013 and had a great experience with the sales and service team. The finance department is hit and miss. After I refinanced, my GAP policy cancellation took 4 months when is should have taken 8-10 weeks. But when I cancelled my extended warranty I had it in a week. Be cautious when dealing with the finance department.

They beg the customer to come and see the car. When the customer is there, they make the customer wait and When it was time to offer the price the manager was horribly disrespectful to the customer. I would never go back back there nor recommend my friends and families.

Jason Brink, the general sales manager, made me feel like a valued and respected customer which began my trust in this dealership. Courtney was very knowlegable about all the features of my new Outback and answered all my questions. She was kind, patient and spent much time making sure I was comfortable before driving off. I am looking forward to a great relationship with this dealership! Oh and they also love dogs which solidified my impression.

Went in to talk about a used car they had advertised, took a test drive, then sat down and told the salesman our price target. I was then immediately introduced to "Manager" Jason, who proceeded to try and teach me about car loan calculators like I'm an eighth grader. I wouldn't tell my worst enemy to go here, avoid this dealership at all costs.

I have purchased 2 new cars from Lee's Summit Subaru this year. the first one was a Crosstrek in March and a WRX STi in November. On both occasions i shopped around and did research online to see what is a good price and contacted all the local dealerships around town. On both occasions my salesman, Steve Gove was able to find me the best price as well as the color/trim i asked for for the price i wanted to pay. Having bad experiences with typical car sales people that are super pushy and calls you all day and ask you to put money down for a car. Steve was a very calm, friendly and non pushy sales person. They were also able to give me the best price for my trade in (went to Carmax, another Subaru dealer and LS Subaru). I am a happy customer and any future Honda/Toyota/Subaru purchases i will be going to these guys

Terry and everyone else in the service department are knowledgeable, friendly, fast and accurate. I have never been approached about buying extra parts or services I don't need. They have even helped me install a couple of accessories at no charge.I trust them implicitly and would (and have) recommend them to anyone.Besides, who else will do a free car wash--everyday if you want one.

If you want to be insulted and judged from the moment you walk into an establishment, please visit Lee's Summit Subaru. I can think of several better places to go to be treated poorly and made felt as though I was inferior than LS Subaru. I would avoid this dealership like the plague! On second thought, I would avoid it worse than the plague!

Horrible dealership, horrible management. I found a crack in my bumper the very next day after purchasing a new 2014 Subaru. They blamed it on ME even though it had blue material stuck in the crack from THEIR car wash. Buy a car somewhere else unless you like to be treated badly.

Whatever you do, do NOT have your vehicle services at this dishonest, unethical business. Not only will they do an incomplete job, but they will also charge you more than they initially tell you. Service at dealerships may be more expensive than other mechanics, but consumers should never be lied to by any business expecting to retain customers. We will never be returning to this store, but will instead visit a location that demonstrates its value of customers by being honest and straightforward. YOU SHOULD TOO. Everyone deserves better than this.

This business is deceitful and manipulative. They lied to my husband about the price he would be charged for an additional service to our Impreza, and did an incomplete job changing our transmission fluid, despite our request. We will never do business here again and will be warning everyone we know of their dishonest business practices and general lack of integrity. We expected to pay more for service at a dealership, but we did not expect to be lied to, to our faces. This type of behavior is just unacceptable; hopefully the internet age can help prevent it from happening to others. There are other service departments who would never act this way - don't give your money to crooks!

Bought my first new car in 1986 - it's still being driven by a family member. The vehicle was everything I wanted at the time but the buying process was not great. Fast forward to 2013, my experience with Lee's Summit Subaru has been great from first visit, where all questions were answered, til delivery of my Subaru a couple of weeks ago. The Sales Rep who inspired my confidence from the outset was Tim Stillings. The test drive we took in June in a 2013 was enough to let me know this was the model for me. As I wanted a 2014, I had a few months to wait. He answered every subsequent query I had regarding the company, the vehicle, options, accessories, service, etc. He assisted me in ordering the perfect ride for my life style. Greg, the Sales Manager, phoned to make himself available for any needs that might arise. Courtney greeted me when I stopped by once with yet another question and she was the one who graciously fascilitated delivery of my vehicle when Tim was out and did not want me to wait. Travis explained all options for extra coverage that interested me, all very low-key and no pressure. Terry in Service got me in right away for purchased options to be done, where Nate and John were very helpful. And free washes from now on. I know I received good value for my dollars, I love driving my XV Crosstrek and look forward to continued service from the wonderful team assembled at Lee's Summit Subaru!

I was looking for a new car a year ago, and was debating between the XV and the Impreza. I test drove the Impreza first, and did not like the ride much. The sale person told me that if I did not like the Impreza, I would not like the XV either. I did not even argue and walked out. They also refused to go below MSRP. The XV was quoted to be about $2k above MSRP. I ended up going to another dealership to buy a XV for $300 above invoice. I have my two cars serviced at Lee's Summit Subaru regularly, and I love the service folks. I wanted to give them the business, but the sales guy BLEW IT BIG TIME. I am now looking for a BRZ now, and I am very hesitant to go back to them even though they are just 5 miles down the road. There is a Toyota/Scion dealership across the street. I might just buy a FR-S from them and save myself my emotional turmoil. Buying a car is supposed to be fun. It was the opposite experience at Lee's Summit.

I had a terrible experience at the Lee's Summit Subaru dealership last night working with Patrick Sweeney and his co-worker. My test drive was great and our exchange started off good but things went downhill fast when I asked for a written car price. He and his co-worker said they couldn't give a price unless I was buying a car that day. How is a consumer to shop for the best price if a dealership is not willing to give a firm price? At one point, I was smiling with a confused look when Patrick said "what are you smiling about? I replied I can't believe a dealership cant give me a firm written price on a car. I then said I think I need to go because this is getting very frustrating and he replied YOU SURE DO. Its at that point I asked him for a business card which he refused to give me but verbally told me his name. During our exchange, Patrick even accused me of trying to tell him how to run his business when all I wanted was a price! Very unprofessional - I will NEVER buy a vehicle from that dealership.

I had a very bad experience with Patrick at Lee Summit Subaru. The dealership itself was clean and well stocked. Patrick and I discussed a price preliminarily over the phone on Friday (6/21) but didnt finalize anything, and I really wasnt interested at the price he was offering. I told him I was going out of town on Monday morning and wouldnt be able to take any calls until the following Thursday or Friday (6/27-28) Monday (6/24) morning Patrick calls me, leaves a voicemail, as I was unable to answer, and asks if I can come by and pick up the car. I did not get a chance to call him back, and he proceeds to call me again the following morning and ask the same questions over voicemail.Later Tuesday evening, my wife informs me that someone from a car dealer called her place of work, asking the receptionist for my wife, and telling the receptionist it is an urgent personal financial issue with my wife and I, and our failure to pick up the car we purchased. My wife is a public CPA, and her cases, and professional work is confidential, so someone calling her office asking for her, and saying she is in financial trouble is a serious issue for her. When my wife informs me of this, she is upset that I gave the car dealer her offices main phone number. Thinking on this, I didnt give Patrick her offices number, infact the only number I gave him was my cellphone. However our credit application contained the name of both my Wifes and My employer, and my wifes business office number is listed on their websites for clients to call. So with this, Patrick must have used our credit application to research my wifes place of work and call her to harass her about the car.I find this to be very unprofessional, and against our privacy when filling out a credit application. My wife is still under pressure from her supervisor for a personal phone call on their main client number. I refused to purchase this vehicle strictly because of Patrick behavior. I would not recommend this dealer.

We've been snubbed three times now (even though we're fully financed) at this dealership. Originally we went in to get our current Subaru serviced, and they were completely inept as to what we were looking for and whether they had it in stock (despite us BRINGING IN the part number!). Later, now that I'm looking to buy my Subaru, we walked in and told the receptionist that we wanted to look at the specific vehicle. 15 minutes later, and the sales rep in the building is still standing around looking at the ceiling. Very poor customer service. Before having a Subaru (when we were looking for my husband's car), we went there looking for the model we wanted, never got any attention. I'm never going back to Lee's Summit Subaru. Van Subaru and Olathe Subaru may be quite a drive from Lee's Summit, but at least they aren't jerks!

I never really understood the difference in Used cars vs Pre-owned....I thought it was just a fancy way of saying "Used". Well, the Pre-owned cars at Lees Summit Subaru are just like new! They do not have a huge inventory, but if it is on their lot....I am telling you they are like new cars! Staff was very laid back and easy to work with...I will never buy a car anywhere else. Customer for life!

The sales manager was extremely rude. Rather than counter our initial offer, he just started yelling at us, saying all we cared about was money. We were looking at a 2011 Outback which was a dealer demo and had 4,000 miles on it, and he was still trying to sell it to us over invoice. We bought our new Outback from a different dealer later the same day and love it.

Would have been our fifth Subaru so we had done our homework, knew what we wanted and were ready to buy. I called before we went there---and used USAA pricing (Identical to Consumer Reports)which their CFO Johnny, said "we'll match." At the "close" when we were ready to do business the very pleasant Sales manager said, "NO, we cannot go that low- regardless of what you were told."This harks back to the old days when you heard, "Well I have to check with my Sales Manager to see if we can do this deal."Nice people but frankly there was is integrity issue that caused us to lose 2 1/2 hrs of our time.Oh, and yes, we then purchased a new Subaru, slightly out of town (Check the Inventories on line)--and yes at the guaranteed USAA price- with NO hastle.
