Top notch service in purchasing. Willingness to permit multiple test drives/multiple vehicles. Though it's our 5th Lexus in many years, it was initial experience at Koons in Delaware. They do not disappoint! Erik is a good listener and kind, thoughtful salesman. Multiple business managers made it a point to introduce themselves. It's a business, but with a super courteous and interested demeanor.

Since 2004 we have bought 5 new Lexus from Lexus of Wilmington. The primary reason is because of George Shear in their service department. George has made owning each of these automobiles such a pleasure by being so responsive. A week ago I called George late on a Friday afternoon with a question. George returned my call with an answer to my question at 7:00 pm while on his way out to dinner with his wife waiting in his car. That kind of service so above and beyond the call do duty that I had to write this review. I only wish there was a way to give him 10 stars!

We have been Lexus of Wilmington customers since 1997 - 5 cars in total.Our last Lexus (2010 GS) was a great auto but unfortunately I was rear endedby an inattentive driver at 65 mph. The safety design of the GS did exactly whatit was intended to do and absorbed the impact. The vehicle had over $25000in damage and was a total loss but I was left with minor injuries.Doug Horst suggested we send a copy of the vehicle description sheet to the insurance company showing exactly all the components of my auto (specific VIN #) that was totaled. This suggestionsaved us another $1500. Doug also worked very hard to find the exact replacement 2016 GSwe were looking for.

Was the 1 1/2 drive worth the trip? Absolutely! Doug Horst and the other staff made this buying trip the most enjoyable of any car purchase we previously made. Doug has been very patient with my indecisiveness - ha ha! I knew I was going to go over on my lease miles and wanted to turn my lease into a purchase early, understanding I'd carry negative equity. When I came in just to fill out that paperwork, Doug found a 1 year newer model with the same exact features and considerably less miles for not much more than what my payment was going to turn out to be on my current car. When I called Koon's Lexus of Wilmington to inquire about a vehicle I had seen online, I was fortunate to be connected to Doug Horst who treated me with the utmost courtesy. I, therefore, traveled sixty-five miles to the dealership to view their pre-owned inventory which is housed in a beautiful indoor showroom. I am a single woman shopping on my own for a car, and there was never a moment of doubt from Doug that I was capable of doing so. There was never a moment of pressure from Doug, but only questions to learn of my wants and needs regarding a possible purchase. I was interested in a Lexus RX350 and had done extensive research online which led me to Koon's in the first place. Their prices were so much better than in my area. I did not purchase on the first day because the selection was such that I could only narrow it down to three. A few days ago, I entered the Lexus dealership without the intention of leaving with a car. My thoughts? I need to take my time so I don't get swindled into a bad deal. If your salesman is Doug, forget this thought ever existed, and sit in his office with a peace of mind. Doug is an honest, forward, and dedicated salesman. I even dislike using the word salesman because of the negative connotation associated with it. Doug made me feel like I was buying a car from my uncle. He is extremely knowledgable about the vehicles, as well as different buying/leasing options. We sat down and he laid everything out in plain language, precisely noting exactly how much each option would cost. I felt zero pressure to make any decision. He made the process really easy, and I confidently left with what I think is the best deal I could have possibly gotten on my 2016 NX lease. I haven't looked back for a second. I am very pleased with the service I got at Koons lexus buying a mercedes E550 from them on June 4. My salesman Robert Sweet was straight up with me on price and gave me a final price with all fees. I left a deposit and drove from NYC to Delaware to pick up the car and fear that they will try to hit me with charges when we finalize and I wasted a trip. That never happened, the prices I ask for with all the fee listed was the price the car was sold for to me. My interest was a bit higher than I expected but partly that was my fault as I could have arrange my own financing but I decided to refinance with my credit union anywhere so it didn't bother me. So always arrange financing first but I knew my score and my ballpark range and they were in it.I already decided to buy the car but Robert still took me for over half an hour test drive which i felt he really didn't need to since the sale was in the bag. His attention and customer service and low pressure approach really did make the car buying process stress free. I have recommend all my friends and family to them for their vehicle needs and will be a returning customer.

Just recently purchased a certified pre-owned 2012 RX 350 white w/ Navigation. Very happy with the purchase of this car. It has been a week now. Car drives flawlessly, & smooth as silk. The hour and a half drive from PA was really worth it. Transaction went smoothly, along with the trade-in. It was pleasantly nice dealing with the staffs there. Also, got a chance to look around. I found a car advertised by Koons Lexus online. Discussions with Doug Horst resulted in a thorough and accurate description of the car, and me having every question answered. I flew from North Carolina to get the car and Doug picked us up at the airport. The car was even better than i anticipated, and all the paperwork including that needed for a North Carolina title was ready. The experience could not have been better, nor could the price. If you are looking for a car buying experience that isn't upfront, is pushy, and full of surprises avoid Koons and Doug at all costs. BUT if you want the best car buying experience possible get to Koons and Doug Horst as fast as you can. On a scale of 1 to 10 they are a 12+

I was skeptical that I may not be approve due to my credit not being in the best shape, but they were able to get me a pretty good and fair interest rate. I purchased a used ES350....and their price & milage of the vechile was way lower than any other Lexus dealerships. My car drives so smooth as if I brought it brand new. To top of my purchase, Koons presented me and my husband with some cool gifts. The RX350 that we purchased was obtained from another dealer the day after the contract was negotiated and the serial number was different from the one that was given to Koons Lexus. Drew Green reprinted the odometer statement and warranties for the tires, restore wax and stone chips. We had a 1:00 PM appointment for installation of door edge guards and Mo Sidik took us in on time installing the guards lowering the bass on the radio and checking out the backup camera. None of the lines appear on the screen when backing up about 10% to 15% of the time. Every time the car was put into reverse the camera worked perfectly. Matt Stern explained some of the electronics that we were having trouble with.

We went to Lexus of Wilmington wishing we could get a hybrid but resigned to bying a new conventional drive ES350, because of the additional cost of a hybrid. We looked at a new ES350, and mentioned our interest in a hybrid to Doug Horst. He opened the listings of preowned dealer certified cars. We found a 2014 ES300h with only 16000 miles on the odometer. That caught our interest and when we learned the no-haggle price we were sold. We saved thousands compared to the price of a new conventional car and got the hybrid we wanted. We had intended to shop around, but the no-haggle pricing and dealer certification program made it easy to buy without feeling we had to shop to get the best deal. Doug was a no-pressure guy. He made the buying experience a pleasure.

Mo asked me if everything else was fine and I replied that I thought so but mentioned some things that I had observed as I was driving it in for the service. He wrote them down and I left. When I first arrived at Lexus of Wilmington I was greeted by Doug Horst. The fact that I was approached by Doug within the first few minutes of my arrival spoke volumes to me. I'm a 29 year old woman who was on the way to the gym that evening so I was not dressed as appropriately as I had liked. That did not matter to Doug. Not too many people would have taken the time to answer all my question. Doug treated me with the utmost respect. He showed me the many features of the IS 250. Doug also assured me that I didn't have to settle for something in his dealership's inventory and that in the event the car of my dreams was not available, he would be able to find it for me (fortunately my new purchase was available that day). My husband and I purchased a Lexus RX350 in June 2013 from Lexus of Wilmington. While we were buying the car, we experienced excellent service. We were told that the dealership offered loaner cars whenever the car was brought in for oil change or service - and would pick up/drop off the car from our home. We were also told that if we broke down anywhere, to give them a call and they would meet us with a loaner car. The excellent service that we experienced that day, along with the promise of top-notch service in the future, had great influence on us buying the car from this dealership. We recommended them to all friends/family.Fast forward to our routine oil changes. We called Lexus of Wilmington to schedule our first oil change and request a loaner car/pick up and drop off. We were met with great hesitation, as if we were bothering them with our request. We were finally able to schedule. Each oil change after the first one became worse in the service area. Today, we had the car brought in for our 60,000 mile oil change. We were repeatedly pressured to purchase the 60,000 mile service package for $1,100, even once they had our car. When we declined, we were told, "fyi, we don't offer loaner cars for an oil change, so know that for the future", almost as if we were wrong for accepting the loaner car/were made to feel guilty. This completely contradicts what we were told when buying the car.I can no longer recommend this dealership to my family and friends. We plan to buy a second Lexus in the next year, but will purchase from another dealership. If you buy from Lexus of Wilmington, be sure to get everything that they promise you in writing, before buying the car.After posting this review on Facebook, the dealership did call us to leave a voicemail. I felt no need to respond to the voicemail, as it was pretty clear that the "customer is wrong". In the voicemail, we were told that "(they) were sorry if a sales associate told us differently, but that (they) have worked at this dealership for several years and the loaner for oil/service was never your policy." I know what we were told at time of sale, we both heard the same thing, and in fact, we chose this dealership over another due to the policy. Also, I just spoke with a coworker who also is having this issue with this dealership. They were told all about the loaner car program and how a loaner would be dropped off to them for oil changes/maintenance/if they were to break down. They went to utilize the program, and were turned down. Buyer beware and get everything promised at time of sale in writing!!

He convinced me this dealership was well respected. I was doubtful, but they proved me wrong. About a month ago, I called in the morning to make an appointment to buy a used Honda minivan. I was going to be coming from over an hour away, so I asked the salesman to verify that there were no problems with the vehicle. He promised I'd be very pleased. I came in to discover that they hadn't honored my appointment, and the car had just sold. I was offered nothing for my troubles, so I took a moment to gain my composure and asked to talk to my salesman again, who identified himself as the used sales manager. I calmly told him that I was disappointed that I took time off work, was allowed to drive over an hour, paying nearly $20 in tolls alone for the trip, to simply be told the car was sold. Instead of showing any remorse, this manager got heated with me. I calmly explained that I was the one who had been treated wrong, and that I was surprised that he was the one who was the one getting heated. He offered up some reasons for their decision that hold no water when you consider that he was a manager, I'd made an appointment, and wasn't even given a call. Finally, this manager took a minute to think things over. He must have felt foolish for getting heated with me after the treatment I received, so he said he was going to cut me a check for $75. The only catch was that he was going to "mail" me the check. Yeah, you guessed it. The check never arrived. I don't know if anyone even reads these reviews, but I'm a good person who was completely treated with disrespect and dishonesty. Trust me. I'm not writing this review out of anger. I'm simply letting anyone out there know that if management operates like this, Koons Lexus of Wilmington is the last place you should consider buying a car.I absolutely don't need to hear a follow up response from the dealer. Every word I wrote is true.

Initially I was pleased with my experience at Koons Lexus, but the measure of customer service cannot be determined by how well you are treated when youre spending money, rather it should be measured on how well they respond when a problem arises, and in this area they are lacking. I purchased a vehicle from them 3 weeks ago, within 3 days of the purchase I notified Tony of an issue with the aux port and I hadnt heard back, I then called again with a different issue which turned out to be my error and Ollie did a great job assisting me with it. I then mentioned to him the issue with the aux port since I hadnt heard back and he informed me to make an appointment with the service department. I made the appointment only to be told that yes there is an issue with the aux port but that its not covered by the warranty. Tony called me later on that afternoon and the only explanation he could offer me was that the radio itself does work and that they dont check plugs he then tries to tell me of a place that I could take it to have it fixed. This made me really upset because I did not think it was reasonable for him to suggest that I spend more money fixing an issue with the car that he just sold me. Fast forward to this past week I receive a call on a Monday morning from Leigh the manager informing me that she wanted to help me out with the issue of the aux port; she left me a message informing me that it was her day off and she was calling from her personal number and asked that I give her a call backimpressive right? Wrong! I returned her call and left her numerous messages only to never hear back from her. She never even had the decency to return a call and tell me she could no longer help me if that was the case. So Im left to assume that there is nothing that she can do. So while my buying experience was okay this whole issue has left me feeling as though once the ink is dried and the check is cleared they could care less, while the issue may not seem big, imagine you pay 20,000 dollars for a vehicle and with every bump and turn the radio turns off. Its annoying, and to think that you now need to spend more money to have it fixed because per them they dont check plugs. I dont believe that I was asking too much, so I could never recommend them to anyone knowing that if they had an issue it may not be taken care of because once its sold and your check has cleared you are no longer their concern.

My interactions with the Lexus salespersons were exceptionally good. I had some questions about the RX350 I was purchasing which required that my intended vehicle be serviced outside of the typical procedures when purchasing a vehicle. Not only were the salespersons (Doug and Pernell) consistently attentive, receptive, and responsive, but also the Sales Manager (Oliver) personally looked after my vehicle as if it belonged to him! Sidebar: Olliver, the Sales Manager, is one of the most competent, yet unassuming gentlemen I have ever encountered when purchasing a vehicle. My experience with all of the personnel at Lexus of Wilmington...including the Business Mgr (Brooks)..is such that I'd return to them in a heartbeat for another car, and will recommend to all of my colleagues that they deal with this dealership when buying a vehicle.

My 2012 RX 350 lease was ending. Since my 2004 Lexus, now used by my daughter, has never had a problem, I decided to purchase the 2012 Lexus when it went off lease. I was met in the lobby by Leigh and she talked with me until Drew was available. I had told Drew on the phone that time was a premium because of my job. He not only got me a stellar financing APR but completed the purchase process in 15 minutes. Better yet, the team did not try to upsell me on another lease or a new Lexus purchase. I really can't say enough about our recent experience at Lexus of Wilmington. I recently totaled my first Lexus, (RIP) so looking for another was kind of bitter-sweet. Pernell and the rest of the team went above and beyond any and all our expectations. We were traveling from out of state, so he took the time to take a detailed video of the car to email to me prior to going down. Everyone was so accommodating and friendly when we got there. We took the car out for a spin, and they even cleaned it up again before we settled the purchase. It was immaculate to begin with, so I was pleasantly surprised they would take the time to be that meticulous. Pernell made sure we were all set to go with everything, and wasn't at all pushy or anything like you might expect from a salesperson. Their entire inventory is very impressive; only the best cars in excellent condition. You can't beat their prices either. Hands down best car buying experience my husband and I have ever had. I know we'll be going back for our next purchase, even though we live almost 4 hours away! It's worth the drive.

They lied to us! This is a very untrustful dealer. Instead of truthfully saying that they sold the car we test drove and based our negoations on; they said the car had a chip in it. They claimed they didn't want to give us a car with a chip. However, when we asked to inspect the chip, they said it would be difficult to get the car back because it was already at the Port of Wilmington - which was another lie. When we called them on this fact, the Sales Manager blamed the young salesman for this major screw up. I would DEFINITELY not buy a car from this dealership. This situation makes you wonder what else they are up to.

I drove from NJ to Wilmington mainly because of the pricing AND because I felt that Doug really went the extra mile to assist me with trading in a leased car that had payments remaining. Ive updated my review to 5 stars because all of my issued have been addressed by management at Koons Lexus. In my opinion the best way to rate a business isnt how they react when things go great, its how they react when things dont go like they should. I can say with 100% certainty that this dealership is a respectable business that values their customers and their reputation. We will be purchasing our next vehicle from them.So, lets start at the beginning. I purchased a Jeep from their used sales department in November of 2014. The car is beautiful and were extremely happy with it. We were able to purchase an extended warranty that will cover the Jeep until there are over 100,000 miles on it.I filled out the paperwork and left with the Jeep. We got a phone call to come back down because there was a problem with the paperwork. There was an issue with the cost of the extended warranty and the dealership took ownership of the error an honored the original price I was quoted and I was able to finance the warranty interest free. In the end I actually ended up with a lower monthly payment then I was originally quoted. About a week later I got a FedEx in the mail because the dates were wrong on the paperwork, so a few more signatures and we were all set. I did review all the paperwork and they werent playing a bait & switch. They were just simple, clerical errors that can happen to anyone. It really wasnt a big deal, and the inconvenience was minimal. (And, I actually got to skip a payment in December since the paperwork wasnt right so that helped with Christmas!)Since I live in PA and purchased the car in DE I had to get it inspected in PA, and Koons Lexus was going to reimburse me for the cost of inspection and all repairs. I was told this verbally and given it in writing. I was told to take the Jeep to my normal mechanic and forward them the bill. The mechanic advised me that in order to pass inspection the Jeep would need new brakes, rotors resurfaced and a new power steering line. I called the dealership and was told they needed to pull my paperwork and would call me back. The manager (Chris) said to go ahead with the work. After the work was done, he had an issue with the brakes being replaced.After some back and forth, I got in contact with Leigh who put me in contact with Jason. Jason asked me to bring the parts down to him. I did that, and was extremely happy with the result of our conversation. As it turns out, the mechanic took advantage of me, and Jason explained everything clearly. They would have passed inspection, and the brakes should not have been replaced. Jason contacted the mechanic on my behalf, but was having a problem getting in contact with anyone who would assist him.Since I called to check with the dealership prior to authorizing the work, they did agree to cover the cost of the repairs and take up the issue with the mechanic. So, even though the work shouldnt have been done the staff at Koons Lexus took care of me and I honestly feel they have their customers best interest at heart. At the end of the day what more can you ask of a business? They hold their employees accountable for their errors, they take great care of their customers, they value lasting relationships and they take great pride in being a highly rated car dealership.

On my side, it was a "walk-in search for a car" :) I have been interested in RC F model for quite a while, and came to Koons to see the real vehicle to make sure I am gonna like it as much as I liked it on the picture. I really appreciate my sales person, Anthony DiIenno's help in handling my search requests. He was very professional and courteous, and made everything go very smooth and pretty fast. The salesman I dealt with previously was ill and I was greeted by the sales manager Chuck and quickly assisted by John Skehan. To say he was non pressuring, accommodating and just all around friendly is an understatement. Actually, I was hesitant to keep my appointment since Jim Fortgang was out that day; but, there was no lack of excellence with John. I've had TWO wonderful leasing experiences here at Lexus of Wilmington. Both times, John Skehan went out of his way to ensure I had the BEST customer experience. This most recent time - earlier this week - John knew I couldn't get in the for a test drive, so he brought the car to me. Who does that? I felt like Taylor Swift or something.... Then, when I got in there to do the final paperwork and pick up the car, it was as smooth as could be...no surprises at all. Before I drove off with my car though, Matt, the technologist, spent a good amount of time with me so that I knew exactly how to use all the bells and whistles my new NX200t has to offer. When I went to test drive the Lexus, Bob Barrett was my salesperson. He was very professional, patient, and hospitable when we arrived. After test driving the car, he listened to any concerns I had and was able to solve them. When I made the decision to purchase the car, the process was efficient and quick. Bob was very up front with us as he walked us through the whole transaction. We were glad to have worked with him. Awesome buying experience! When my wife and I entered the reception area, we were immediately greeted by the receptionist and received service shortly after. Doug Horst, our sales rep did a fantastic job on educating us on the superb quality and benefits of purchasing a Lexus. There was no pressure to buy, just candor conversation which led to my wife and I owning our first Lexus! All in all great time management. As Doug took us on a test drive, Charles Rayson ran the numbers and credit check. When we returned from the test drive, the paperwork was awaiting us and we were on our way to sealing the deal! My wife and stated our desired price range and it was met with a "can't beat" deal!Matthew Stern did an outstanding job on giving us a run down of all the bells and whistles on the new machine, was very knowledgeable, and thorough covering the features on the GX 470! Cannot say enough about the staffs overall customer service. Doug Horst, Mark Merino, Charles Rayson and Matthew Stern were absolute professionals. I used the true car pricing service via Consumer Reports to purchase a new RX 350. This dealer was far and away the best of all the dealers in the Philly area who responded to my request. They were very clear and transparent with the first quote provided. The quote offered was significantly below the others I received. My sales person John Skehan also was more than willing to communicate with me via e-mail which was my preference. This was a huge time saver for me and much appreciated.The delivery experience was also excellent as John came to my house to deliver the car and pick up my trade. I thought the price offered for the trade was also fair and we were able to do a lot of the preliminary work by e-mail as well. All and all a very positive buying experience.Bob H.

Bought a 2005 Ford F150 at the beginning of May 2014 with 72k miles on it. Around July 5th I realized the transmission sensor went on a couple times but i thought it was nothing because it went off right away. A week later I went to get it checked out when I was told a needed a whole new transmission. There is no way this dealership didn't know about the transmission problems or maybe I was lied to when they said they checked out the vehicle. The truck was supposedly brought in on Friday and I purchased it on Sunday so I don't think they even looked this over like they were suppose to. When I called to asked if they could do anything they basically said it was all on me. So now I have to pay around $3000 for a new transmission.

At first, Jim seemed very personable and professional. His communication was great. He said the Van was really clean, and that the Carfax was also clean. When my wife and I actually arrived after an hour and a half drive, he became very focused on our trade. He pushed for the VIN and mileage of our trade before we had even seen the van we were coming to look at. We had to drive him to the used car building 5 minutes away, and when we got there, we waited another 10 minutes for him to pull the car up. 1st Lie.As soon as we stepped out of the building, we saw a big dent at the bottom of the sliding door and the rear quarter panel! This was after I was told that "this car is really clean", and "it looks like no one ever sat in here". We immediately pointed it out and he said he did not see the damage before. The paint was flaking off where the panel was bent under, and there was rust underneath. 2nd Lie.We asked to see the Carfax, and he told us he would have to pull it up. He never looked at it when I asked earlier!3rd Lie.The used car manager came out to look at the damage. He said he didn't see that when he looked at the car before. When I pointed out the rust underneath the flaking paint, he said, "well I don't get to see every car." So which one is it - did you see the car or not? We then had to drive the salesperson back to the new car building (again in our car). He offered to fill our tank at least, but the $44 in gas was a pittance compared to the time and aggravation we experienced here. I thought coming to a luxury car dealership would result in getting treated better, but it turns out that it's the same run-around.

I would highly recommend purchasing your Lexus from Koons Lexus of Wilmington. The customer service that Rob Nestor provided was excellent. The selection of vehicles was tremendous - they had so many color combinations to chose from and the option to purchase new or certified pre-owned. The entire process was seamless, including the financing. My first service appointment was already pre-set, so I don't have to worry about scheduling that. Love my car and love Lexus of Wilmington!

had to let you know this is real due to that my old job was to go on these types of sites and write great reviews for our so-so restaurants(the group I worked for). Ok now this is what it is really like dealing with this company. To sum it up.... horrible Summary: Purchased a car 2 years ago used, the person I purchased the car from said he would send me some touch up paint due to some minor blemishes on the car. The paint never came and I called 5 times for it each time I was given a different story, and yes still no paint. One time I received an email that he had but could not mail the paint, I called and was more then willing to pick it up.... he had no paint. Secondly I purchased the 1300-1700$ rim and tire warranty package, I was told that it would cover any AND all damage occurring due to a pot hole or such thing. So I bought it, and recently had to use it just 5 thousand miles before it expired, lucky right. Wrong. For one I still had to pay 65$ when I only pay 220 without the warranty.....Then on top of that Otto's BMW informed me that my rim was bent so it is deemed unsafe to drive, but then Koons Tire Warranty told Otto's that they would not be covering the bent rim since it can hold a seal, even though it is still dangerous and as Beth from Ottos said "if you hit another pot hole on the highway that could be it for you". At this point I start to feel that I purchased my car from Deals on Wheels or some shady car mart in Wilmington. So then I call Deals on Wheels, I mean Koons Lexus of Wilmington, asking what the warranty states it covers. The man who I spoke with said he wasn't sure all he knows is that the rims and tires are definitely covered. This is so great but its so wrong. After letting Beth at Otto's know this she informs me that the company still is refusing, so I go back to call Koons. I call Koons for the second time that day (all before 5pm) and I get another man, this time though he informs me that he sees that I do have a warranty on the wheels but isn't sure what all it covers. Callback a 3rd time because I need someone to answer questions not send me on a goose chase. This time I spoke to someone in finance, which was great, but then he informed me that he wasn't sure what all is covered because they use a "3rd party" for the tire and wheel package, I told him to simply get back to me once someone in the company knows what the product that they are selling includes. So at this point, 2 weeks later, my mind is blown. Since the initial calls I have called in as well as 2 other family members, but yet not a single person we have spoke to can tell us what the tire package covers. Not to mention no one in there had the courtesy to call back, that's just bad business. You would think that you were dealing with the 3 stooges, until I google to find out that Koons actually has other locations. I find this appalling and you all should too, we as a whole need to open our eyes to this type of bad business; otherwise America will continue to crumble around these people that are raking in the cash selling, well, nothing and putting a "3rd party" label on it so no one complains.

I had never purchased a car at a dealership before buying one at Koons Lexus of Wilmington, so naturally, I went into the process with many preconceived notions of dealerships and car salesmen. Bob Barrett and Chuck Raysor were NOT what I expected. They were both patient, accommodating, and of course, very friendly. The cars move fast there, so there it's a pretty low-pressure sales approach, which was just what I needed. I can't say enough about Bob and Chuck. Simply stated, they were great to deal with. I have been a Lexus customer for 14 years. I have always liked the fact that when my car is due for service it is picked up at work/my home and returned. I am fortunate to have had Dan Hayes as my sales consultant; Dan knows the business and he was/is a pleasure to work with. I often email him with questions I may have and Dan always responds. A few weeks ago my key fob had a low battery; I emailed Dan. He suggested I stop by the dealership and he would replace the battery. I walked into Lexus of Wilmington 18 months ago and have been driving the best car ever. From Alex Hafer, the General Manager, down to the person that opens my cardoor when I bring in the car for service, I am treated like I'm the only Lexus owner around. Everyone is courteous, efficient, and knowledgeable and they all seem to like being there whenever I come in for service. i had a bad experience with my detailed vehicle on may 08, 2014. the following were discovered when i went to pick up the vehicle:inside of trunk chipped and damagedbug juice on front license platedried wax on accelerator pedalcar not vaccumed under matspuddles of water on rubber carpet matschuck raysor happen to come out the doors of the building with his hands in his pockets and asked me was everthing ok. i politely told him know, and that i feel like crying right now. he came down the steps over to my vehicle, and asked me how can he help. i told him i had my car detailed and they damaged my inside of trunk and all the other things above this paragraph. he politely told me to don't worry. i have a guy that comes in on that friday that will be able to fix that and make it look new, he also said i will baby your car while it is fully detailed again, and let you use one of the cars on the lot until this is taken care of. i told him i had to go to my daughter's college graduation in north carolina, and will not be back until that following monday. he said when you get back, come see me and i will fix this. i came back monday and he brought me inside to took my info (license, insurance) and introduced me to pernell pressey who told me to not worry; we will get this right. pernell broght a car around and told me the gas tank is full. if you bring it back on empty, it's ok. LOL , i put gas back in it though. i came back that following saturady may 17, 2014 to pick up car. my car was on the detail area inside looking like a brand new car. the trunk inside looked new. pernell allowed me to inspect the car. i was very pleased. chuck and pernell helped me and they deserve a raise in pay. pernell even gave me a lexus hat. he brought all colors to me and let me pick the color i wanted and put it in a lexus bag for me. i deal with 140 clients of my own a year and these 2 guys did what i will do for my clients and that is PUT A SMILE ON THEIR FACE after service is rendered

I seem to be unique in my experience but apparently that's because Lexus of Wilmington only want customers that meet their profile of elite wealth and affluence as customers. Everyone else gets treated like utter garbage. I've made my share of mistakes in life, I left a marriage that was abusive and left with a mountain of debt and better off because of it. Alex Hafer seems to believe that even though I bought a car from his dealership and don't have a 700+ FICO score that I deserve to be belittled and bullied. "People your age (I'm 30) shouldn't need a parent to co-sign" and "my fathers a lawyer" and "our customers don't need co signers" and "I've seen your credit and you shouldn't be here" are not things a GM should be recorded as saying. People should not be subjected to this type of emotional abuse from a company of any stature let alone Lexus. Mind you I had already purchased the vehicle from this dealership at this point with the help of my father. The finance manager was apparently new, (the finance managers words not mine), and forgot to tell us to sign one line of the contract. So the contract we signed got bounced around from the bank for a few weeks until we were told we had to sign a new contract, which we understood and cooperated with. My parents live 6,000 miles away so you can imagine how difficult this was to achieve and ultimately the documents were shipped, signed and returned back. The issue arose that my new work schedule was keeping me from coming in during certain times to resign the second contract. This didn't sit well with Alex Hafer the GM and the abuse started. I ultimately was granted an extended lunch hour at my new job and went in to sign the documents at the dealerships requested time. I'm not the best credit wise due to my marriage, but I'm working hard to fix it, and my father was happy to help out his son. But I have never been more insulted and belittled in my life than by the words of this man. He had me in tears with the hate he spewed at me. He was unapologetic and seems to have no empathy for his fellow man let alone a customer of his business. I am happy with my car and with the Lexus brand, I will certainly buy another one when the time is right. But I will never buy from this dealership again. To be treated this way at all, let alone due to their error is inhuman, immoral and unethical. Formulate your own opinion based on my words and my experience, but I will avoid Lexus of Wilmington.

I was interested in a car and had to go out of town on family business and was looking at a BMW and was planing to purchase it when I got back but on the day I got back the car was sold. They never contacted me to ask me if I was still interested in the car or anything. They are heartless sales people and do not care about the customer but about the almighty buck and thats it!!!!!!! Don't buy from them they are really a bunch of people who care about money only not the customer.

We were in the market for a Certified 2011 LS 460 AWD to replace our LX 470 as my wife's primary vehicle. The plan was to trade a 2011 Toyota Tacoma pick-up purchased to facilitate the recently completed renovation of our home. A search turned up a suitable car at Lexus of Wilmington. We met with John Skehan at about 6 PM on a Monday and by 9 we had completed the trade and purchase drove home with a beautiful new car. Based upon plenty of research before the visit, we feel we received top dollar for our trade--despite a Carfax report indicating an odometer problem which resulted from a typo when we registered the car in PA, but the dealer had to spend hours correcting. We were also so satisfied with the condition and asking price of the LS 460, we didn't feel the need to negotiate. That was a first!The service and attention to detail after the transaction was the icing on the cake. John arranged to have the rear bumper cover replaced and repainted to remedy a minor paint defect. When we brought the car in for the body work, Rob Payson, an assistant service manager, noticed a small cosmetic dent in the rear door threshold plate. He ordered the replacement part on the spot and at no cost to us. This Lexus of Wilmington did after replacing all 4 brake calipers which only had 34k miles because we questioned whether the brakes were as smooth as possible! Over the past 30 years, my wife and I have purchased between 15 and 20 high-end luxury vehicles and sports cars. This was one of the most satisfying experiences. The level of professionalism, attention to detail, concern for our total satisfaction, and efficiency with our time was truly outstanding.

I had my Lexus LS430 serviced at Koon's Lexus for the past 10 years and have received outstanding service over the years. They have always been very through and prompt in caring for my car. It was only natural that on March 26th I would go the Wilmington Lexus to purchase another Lexus. I worked with Dan Hayes, Chuck Rayson, and Drew Greene to purchase my LS460 (2011). They were very professional, being friendly, but not overly so. They showed respect for my opinion on the negotiations for both my old car and my new purchase. Dan Hayes could not have been more helpful in taking my wife and to talk to Chuck Rayson at the used car showroom. Chuck was very helpful in explaining all the steps they take to certify the car and what they did to the car to meet the certification requirements. The quality of the work showed in both the test drive and walk around of the car. They were friendly and their experience in dealing with potential buyers quickly came through as caring about my wife and my concerns. They were careful to address issues we brought up and quickly explained the answers to our questions. Dan took his time to explain and go over all the paperwork that goes with purchasing a car and Drew Greene took his time to explain the extended warranty which we purchased for 6 years. In the past, I had worked with Rob Payson in the Service Department and had come to respect his efforts and experience in keeping my car well maintained and I felt completely comfortable yesterday dealing with Dan, Chuck, and Drew and had a great experience purchasing my used Lexus LS460.Thanks To All,James L. New car shopping as female was daunting... or so I thought until I met Bob Barrett! His gentle nature and wish to find my "perfect car" lead me to drive 3 different vehicles on a busy Saturday morning. Bob listened, really listened, to my needs & wishes of luxury & safety in a youthful looking, dynamic, earth friendly car! All were delivered in less than 48hrs after the first "Hello" to driving it home! Honestly, delivery probably would have been in 24hrs except for the Sunday in between. My Mica RED ES300h gives the "sporty" aggressive look to a luxury sedan. Gorgeous rims, rear spoiler & bamboo inlay brightens the overall appearance. The heated and cooled leather seats in the Lexus will be a blessed comfort zone for my always chilly self and my always too warm husband. Safety is predominant in air bags, front and rear parking beepers, blind spot detector and back up camera (He found one without NAV!). My Volvo XC70 was traded in for the appropriate Blue Book price and saved me a lot of running around trying to sell it. Provided financing was competitive, again it negated the hassle of shopping around. So, in summary... an efficient, upscale, eager-to-please dealership. It made car buying fun, without any pressure and now I have only to wait 660 miles until it needs gas!

I test drove a 2014 lexus ES 330 at Lexus of Wilmington on 3/16/14. Charles and Alex were totally unprofessional to say the least. I felt as if Alex (GM) was challenging me on everything. Charles had the attitude of a two year old, when I told him I had to speak with my wife before I made a decision. If it were up to me Alex and Charles would be better off detailing vehicles rather then being on the sales end. Therefore, I will never do business with a Koons dealership and I will be sure to spread the word! Very unimpressed to say the least!

Would I recommend this dealership? Enthusiastically . I have purchased 5 Lexus' from Koons beginning in 2007 : 3 RX350's and 2 IS250C's. From Kimberly, the receptionist/phone person to Lee, the troubleshooter, to my favorite Salesman , John Skehan: everyone at the dealership is concerned, knowledgeable and professional. Of the cars purchased at Koons the last 3 were purchased with John T Skehan, Jr as my salesman and he did a wonderful job with me. I always feel like I got a fair deal and of course the cars are the best around. I have referred a friend to John and he ended up purchasing a car too. Service is never a problem even though the dealership is about 50 miles away. They pick up and deliver. If I can take the time to write this review it's obvious I am more than happy with Koons and John Skehan.

Words cannot adequately describe the unparalleled level of service that we received from Lexus of Wilmington and in particular, Randy O'Brien. He personally delivered our car to us -- we live over two hours away from the dealership -- and picked up our trade in. The price was without question the best price (by a mile) that we could find. Indeed, another dealership told me to take the Koons deal and run. Randy was incredibly helpful, attentive, and responsive. He did everything he could to get the deal done. My entire experience at Koons Lexus of Wilmington was pleasant. John Skehan and Lance Bartel are top-notch. Dealing with them both was a pleasure. They were informative, respectful, knowledgeable, patient, and willing to answer all questions. The test drive on which I was taken by Lance Bartel was 10 miles in length over several different road types. At other dealerships, including other Lexus dealers, Audi, and Subaru, this type of road test was not a possibility even when requested by me. John Skehan delivered my car to me at my home at 7 pm , approximately 30 miles from the dealership. Not only did he take the time to review features of the car and enroll me in all available services, he managed to link my non-standard garage door opener with the car while preserving the linkages with my remote keypad and remote openers, no easy feat. Both John and Lance have followed up with me since I took delivery of my car at my home and have encouraged me to contact them with any questions or concerns. Thus far, I could not be more pleased!

I found a Toyota Land Cruiser on line at Koons of Wilmington. I live in Northern VA. John Skehan made it seem as if I was buying a car in my own neighborhood. He was very attentive, answering my calls, e-mails or texts promptly. He gave me a very fair price and when I came to see the car, it was even better than he described it. John also went the extra mile. To pick up the car, I took the train up to Wilmington with my 8 year old boy. On his day off, John came and picked me up at the train station. He even had a booster seat for my son. Also, on a more technical side, the Land Cruiser was an older car (2004) but with low milage. It was near impossible to find a loan for a car that old, but John worked with lenders and found me a loan at a competitive rate.

I purchased a 2010 Hs250H preowned from this facility. After a week or so, I was displeased with comfortability of the vehicle despite the superior fuel effeciency. I contacted the preowned sales manager, Kevin Glenn, who allowed me to swap the vehicle out at my convenience. The customer service provided is superior and unmatched in any of my prior vehicle purchase experiences. My sales rep was Dan, was a very nice guy. I found the certified used car I wanted on line. Koons was, interestingly, pricing its used cars (at least the specific units I investigated) lower than other dealers, comparing apples to apples. And I note that Koons Lexus is a USAA certified dealership. For me that was nice to know.I contacted the dealership. I was given Doug at random. I went to see car, meet Doug, and get a valuation for my trade. It is clear to me that before Koons puts a car on its used certified list, much energy is spent making each unit as close to perfect as it can be. So kudos to the used car department. Kevin (the used car manager) gave me significantly more for my trade than 2 other dealerships (1 of which was a nearby Lexus shop!). Doug was pleasant and attentive. And NOT at all pushy (don't we all hate pushy car sales folks!) Doug was really more than fair all the way around. Some small adjustments needed to be made for me to want the car (I needed the normal wear and tear on the nose air dam cleaned up at the dealership's body shop, and a shift knob replaced due to wear). That was all done with little more than a single mention from me. And the nose job looks terrific! Having Doug work the deal felt almost like he was working for me rather than Koons. In fact, he told me of an as-of-yet unadvertised price reduction on the target car when I was prepared to do the deal at what turned out to be a higher price. He offered that lower price when I never would have known of it. How often do you hear of that happening! And so far the post-sale follow up is quite solid. Doug and his dealership are there if I need them. Already there have been a few minor questions (like how to get my iphone music running through the Bluetooth system). And Doug and his folks helped me, step by step, over the phone.I really feel that this dealership is not as interested in any single sale as it is in establishing great relationships that will last over time. And from this customer's perspective, that is very soothing to the soul.So if you are thinking about purchasing a used (and new, I am sure) Lexus, make the trip to Koons. Visit with Doug. It will be time well spent.

Got my new RX 350's first 5k service done here. Service intake process has room for improvement compared to the non-luxury brand service showrooms. The service advisor licked his finger in front of me and wiped off a scuff in the car before delivering. Paint near the lug nuts on the wheels was damaged badly during tire rotation. A service loaner's wheels were exchanged for the damaged wheels on my car. The car now drives roughly with these new wheels and not sure if its because of any inherent issue with the swapped wheels.The service manager initially apologized when this incident was reported and mentioned that it was not classy for a Lexus service advisor to lick his finger to wipe off a scuff. The service manager also tried to show the wheels on the car that he was driving mentioning that the paint damage can be expected during servicing but unfortunately, the wheels on the car that he was driving had zero paint issues when both of us looked at them closely although his car was serviced a few times. I was initially skeptical if we can accept the solution of swapping the service loaner's wheels as it did not come with my car. We did not have any choice and I felt that the service manager was not polite during one of these discussions on the phone when he offered this take it or leave it deal. This whole incident could have been easily avoided if proper care was taken while servicing the car. Although the service shop considers this issue 'resolved' , it just left an overall bad service experience for me for a new luxury car having to re-think if this is how Lexus operates their service shops.

This was my 3rd purchase from Lexus of Wilmington. However, it was my first in a pre-ownwed certified Lexus. I had a new salesman this time. Lance Bartel and he was kind, knowledgeable and patient. I came in for service and left with a new car. He guided me through the pros of purchasing a pre owned car and most of all I did not feel mislead as a woman purchasing a car on my own. He was personable and responded to my questions and a follow up service needs. Was greeted immediately when I pulled into the service department. Very clean and pleasant facility with courteous personel. My sales person asked relevant questions and was able to provide me with service options that were within my budget while addressing the issues I was having with my vehicle. I was provided with beverages, snacks, and a comforable area to access wi fi and make phone calls while I waited a short period of time for the results of my vehicle's overview. John is a rare breed of salesperson - he asked the right questions, listened intently to what I had to say and made RELEVANT recommendations and suggestions leading, ultimately, to the right car for me. I felt he worked hard to find the right car, find me agressive financing (I got a great rate through his connections that beat two other banks by 300 basis points and 620 basis points), and sincerely wanted me to leave completely satisfied with my purchase. Everything about Lexus of Wilmington has been a positive experience for me!!! I purchased an '09 IS 250 in February of this past year. When I was eyeing the vehicle I noticed some minor scrapes on the back bumper and side panel. John said that they would take care of it and they did-at no cost to me! I really felt that John was just saying that to get "the sale", but in a short time John called to remind me of the work they promised to do. He said he wants a happy customer and I am!! The day that I picked up my car and signed the paperwork I worked late. I didn't arrive to the dealership until 7:00 that evening. John guided me through all of the paperwork and settled me into the mechanics of the new car I just purchased. It was lated when we finished up, but I never felt John was rushing me. He asked if I had any questions about the car and I had none. If something was to come up to please call him and in typical John style a few days had passed and he called me to see how I was doing with my new car and if I had any questions for him-amazing!!!! I also love their service department. They are conveniently located and can't do enough for you. I had some minor engine issue over the summer and Lexus towed my car and got me a loner car later in the day. They had to keep my car for 3 days so I drove around town in a new SUV for three days on them. A couple of weeks ago I brought my car in for a scheduled service appointment. I met with Todd, the assistant service manager, to explain what my car was coming in for. Todd offered me a loner car. I told him I didn't need it because I live and work so close I would get a ride. He was floored by my response. He said I "made his night". I got a free oil change and my car was ready by 10:30 the next morning after dropping my car off at 7:00pm the night before. The next day when I went to pick up my car, we talked some more and he gave me a Lexus stylus pen for my IPad because I was such a great customer!!! He's giving me a gift when I brought my car in for service. I know Todd appreciated the experience we had, but he made me feel like a million bucks for his kind words and friendly conversation we had.I can't say enough about this place. Dealership is horrible to work with. Do not go there for service and strongly recommend going to another dealership. Brought my 08 LS460 there for brake noise and was told needed a $3800 brake actuator. They were not willing to do anything even though the car has always been serviced there. Called Lexus corporate and finally talked them into goodwill fix and lexus repaired at no charge. Several weeks later, went back to dealership because of same noise and now told needed new control arms and will cost $3200. Tried to explain to service mgr and he just kept interrupting and very rudely said there's nothing they will do and it was separate issue even though noise was same. Asked to speak to GM and he was no help at all. Just kept repeating same thing over and over again. Couldn't believe they would put someone like that in charge of a Lexus dealership. Learn from my mistake. Before you get any work done or buy a car from this dealer, go to another Lexus dealership and shop around to get another opinion!!

I never complete surveys or reviews for companies because the service is just never what I expect. Koons Lexus of Wilmington did a fantastic job in restoring my beliefs in great customer service and treating the customer with care. I worked with Robert over the phone to talk about the car I was interested in. When we arrived at Koons Lexus after our hour or so commute we were very pleased with our reception and treatment. Robert worked diligently to get us the keys for the test drive and evaluate our trade. My husband and I were both impressed with the fact that we were in and out of there in an hour. It was the lease painful car deal we have ever experienced. It was in fact a pleasure to do business with Robert and everyone at Lexus. I would definitely return for another car purchase in the future. I love my Lexus!!!

My husband and I were shopping for a lease at a Lexus dealership in a different location. We were receiving unsatisfactory service at that dealership when a coworker of mine suggested trying Koons of Wilmington. We begrudgingly decided to take a ride to check them out. We met with Tom Rae who was very knowledgeable and patient with us throughout the process. After going over financials, we decided to purchase a certified preowned. The general manager, Alex Hafer, personally came and went over the numbers with us. He was amazing! I cannot say enough good things about the customer service at Koons Lexus of Wilmington. Working with Doug was great, he was very easy to talk to and listened to my needs. In the end we found a way to get me the used car I wanted for a little less than expected. The only part of the experience I that was not excellent was the other associates did not smile when smiled at, which surprised me, given that they were sales staff. I don't know if that's part of the Luxury experience or just a fluke, but it was noticeable. The recenty renovated building is gorgeous and nicely air conditioned.

I must say again, the service at Lexus of Wilmington for the first 2 years were exemplary, especially the Leigh Encarnacion, customer service representative. The January 2012 service fiasco made us very apprehensive but we accepted the following complimentary services:-35000 mile maintenance service-car detailedWe asked while they had the car do they offer Pa.inspection and emissions. We were told they did and the fee would be approximately $70, so we scheduled Weds.6/6 and Thurs.6./7.After they picked up the car Weds. AM we received a call from Todd (service adviser) and were told the inspection could not be done without replacing 2 tires at about $550.00 plus front end alignment at about $150.00. We told them do not have the inspection performed at all but do the maintenance service and detail ONLY. We wanted to shop for 4 tires ourselves.We did not hear from Lexus so on the second day, Thurs. 6/7 at 4:30 PM, we called and were told by Todd that Greg Ritter (service manager) would call us. Needless to say, nobody called us. No call on Fri.AM until all of a sudden the driver showed up at our home about 10 AM. To our surprise the inspection was done with no note or explanation? The driver had no knowledge of any of the circumstances. In addition, the entire front bumper and outside mirrors were filthy and never touched, some detail job? We immediately called Leigh (customer service representative) and she said she would have Greg call us. We did not hear from him until a voice message on our home phone that he called (4:30 PM Friday). That was 6 HOURS after the driver left the car with NO EXPLANATION.Greg called again on Mon.6/11 He discussed with my wife the thirty- seconds of thread on the tire and Pa. law governing inspection criteria. That does not excuse the initial miss-communication, nor shall I say incorrect/minimal/inconsiderate/delayed communication of the service department and its manager Greg Ritter? To make matters worse,I found out later that he took the opportunity to rehash and re-ignite the service fiasco from January 2012 that the General Manager Alex Hafer stated in April 2012: due to its closure ( service fiasco Jan.2012) not more time is necessary to be committed to it. I guess Greg Ritter disagreed with Alex and decided he knew better.

From the moment we walked into the dealership, everyone we came in contact was courteous and friendly. AWESOME Customer Service. I began my search for a RED ROCKET aka Lexus SC430 about a year ago after selling my HD. Due to back issues created in Iraq I could no longer balance a large MC. A nice convertible was in order. I tried out many other brands of hard and soft top convertibles and always came back to the Lexus. A very quiet ride with the top up and very cool with the top down. WOW factor of 10. So now about Koons Lexus, called and spoke with Dan Hayes, very cordial, professional and not pushy. I hate high pressure salesman. I knew what I want and they had it. Checked out shop work that had been done etc. A very beautiful Red SC430 with saddle leather interior. And the best part was it only had 27k on it and a 2003. Emails back and forth and telephone conversations etc. Gave Dan a deposit, flew into Philly, he picked me up and off to the dealership we went. Had to go to the storage facility to see the car first. Just as advertised and presented. Another short ride to the actual dealership, paperwork in order, some orientation, a check of the wind sock and off I went northbound. Made better time headed north than expected (most likely driving too fast but way fun). Arrived home and put this beauty in the garage and pinched myself. Still could not believe I had actually gotten the car I wanted, color and all. Oh actually got a service plan at a very reasonable rate, 3yrs or 36k. Two hats and two key fobs, very nice little additions. On the way home speaker in the front was crackling and I had forgot to have them put on the front license plate bracket as required in NH. Went to the local dealer and had a new speaker and the bracket installed and got a reimbursement check in the mail shortly after!!!!! Love this car, the follow up by Leigh was another great PLUS for Koons Lexus,she went out of her way to insure I was a happy customer. I will always consider this dealership for their honesty and integrity and customer service. SO if you see a red flash go by you and you happen to catch the NH Veteran license plate on the rear R-RCKT that would be my wife Trish and I out just have fun!!!

Over the past 2 years Lexus of Wilmington service was impeccable. Leigh Encarnacion has been a superb Customer Relations Individual. Unfortunately we have come across a very disturbing episode recently. Let me explain:Prior to my 30,000 mile service of January 9, Greg Ritter (service manager) and I agreed on the phone that certain inspection items were to be performed on my vehicle and others were not. The agreed upon price he gave me was $325.00 complete. The next day I called and told him the invoice charges were in excess of $325. He told me he noticed the cabin air filter was very dirty so the technician replaced it at a cost of $46.00, with no charge for installing. Then there was a $10.00 charge for touch up paint. The total should have been $381.00 instead of $465.37 or an overcharge of $84.00. He said he would look into the difference and call back ( that was Jan.9). We waited a week but no call from him. Even after leaving several messages on his voice mail (he rarely responds), and the telephone tag game occurred, he still never took care of the issue for the past 2 months. I gave up on him and entered a dispute with the credit card company and the BBB of Delaware.My wife called the Customer Service Person (Leigh) Friday March 9. She called back to say the $84.00 credit would be issued. She said she spoke with Greg. Greg Ritter himself never had the common courtesy to call us directly nor apologize for his negligence. WE DESERVED THAT MUCH! I believed his word was his bond but now I am not sure? 4/3/12 Update:After a frustrating 3 month period, Leigh finally resolved the issue with the $84.00 credit to be posted to our credit card.

Need to improve customer service. When I call to ask about assistance I'm told "nope" can't do that. Tried to get info on European GPS maps info (no help) and dealer info for Europe--no help at all. Amazingly, I found the dealer on the internet within minutes.If it weren't for Leigh and Lanny Hamilton, I would have had another bad experience with Koons on this last visit. I will never use your services again and tell everyone I know about how bad it is there (with the exception of great service from Leigh and Lanny)

We have been dealing with Koons Lexus of Wilmington for years now. We are on our second RX350. We just love Lexus brand vehicles. We have been working with everyone over the years and have been very satisfied. The most recent purchase was a 2009 rx350 certified. Even though after a few miles we found a couple of items that needed attention the team at Koons jumped right on it and took care of it. Dan Hayes was so easy to work with, he makes you want to come back next week and buy another vehicle from him, the experience was so pleasant.Leigh Encarnacion is outstanding! I have never met anyone quite like her! She makes you feel like family, it is an amazing experience. You feel like you have known her for years....Her follow up to requests are prompt, and she goes way out of her way to make sure you are happy with your ownership experience. NEVER buy a car from this dealer if you think you will ever need to take the car back for service. The service department is terrible. The first time they tried to tell us our tire sensor light was on because our mechanic damage all 5 sensors and it was going to cost over $200/sensor. Took the car back to our mechanic and he fixed the computer chip; nothing wrong with the sensors.Second time our mechanic said we needed a new transmission after 50,000. They tried to say there was nothing wrong with the transmission (warrenty was running out in 6 months). Our mechanic called and threatened the service department. Service called us and said they would put in a new transmission but it would take several days to get the parts in. They wanted us to return the loaner car and drive our car until they got the parts. Wanted us to drive a car when the transmission was going!!!!AND when we picked up the car after getting the new transmission the gas tank registered 0 ZERO miles until empty.NEVER TAKE YOUR CAR TO THIS SERVICE CENTER

With my latest purchase of a 2012 Lexus RX350 John and Doug in Sales were very thorough and patient in explaining the cars many great features. We love the handling and responsiveness of the new Lexus which we quickly tested on a long trip. While I brought my car in for regular maintenance, I asked them to check the blue tooth phone connection as it stopped working for me a few months ago. Leigh Encarnacion and I went to the car to see if we could correct the problem. Leigh patiently tried a number of options until she got the blue tooth working again. Bill was the friendliest, personable salesperson I could have asked for. The only downfall from my perspective is that was overshadowed by the amount of time I had to spend in order to purchase. I arrived at the dealership at around 9 am, only test drove 1 vehicle because that was the vehicle I knew I wanted, and had to leave and come back to the dealership due to a previous engagement because all of the paperwork wasn't finished. Ultimately, I arrived at 9 am, left the first time at 1pm, came back at 5pm and ended up not leaving with my purchased vehicle until 8 pm that night. I think it's a bit ridiculous that it takes 8 hours in all to purchase a car and it's never taken that long at any other company.

I walked into Koons with the intention of buying a new Lexus. I had been and was a current owner of a Lexus which I had owned for 11.5 years. My salesperson, Lance Bartel, was friendly and informative without pressuring me. He answered my questions immediately and provided pricing for the vehicles that I was interested in without trying to steer me to other models. I asked for total prices (including tags, dealer prep etc) for 2 cars which he provided that evening. As I was dealing with an honest and forthright person, and was pleased with the prices, I made arrangements to buy the car of my choice that evening over the phone. I picked up my car two days later and have been extremely pleased with it. Since my purchase, there were questions regarding receipt of my title. Lance offered and made the appropriate phone calls to ensure the title was being processed. In addition, while Lance was on vacation, the manager, Ray Bonhs was wonderful when I spoke to him regarding the title issue and offered his cell number in the event I was unable to reach him. I will recommend Koons to anyone wising to buy a Lexus.

We checked every dealer in the tri-state area within 50 miles. We weren't happy with the lack of transparency from the first dealer we visited on the Main Line in Philly. We checked prices on-line and this dealer responded promptly with all the facts. We were no-nonsense buyers ready to make the purchase in the most efficient but cost-effective way possible. Lance (from Koons Lexus of Wilmington) reached out and within a day we were done.We went down to "test" drive the vehicle and he had it ready to drive off the lot if we were happy with it. They did the state inspection and even come up to PA to pick up and drop off the vehicle for service. Great benefit for my wife who wants nothing more than for the vehicle ownership experience to be hassle free. We haven't had our first service yet, but are looking forward to it. Prior to buying our first Lexus, we owned an Acura Legend. We absolutely loved the car and intended to replace it with another Acura - EXCEPT! Our Acura dealer's service department was a continual hassle. On the recommendation of a friend we investigated Lexus of Wilmington, liked what we saw and bought my wife a 1997 ES300. We have subsequently bought a 1999 RX300 and 1995 RX330. On 4/15/11 I took my 2005 Lexus ES330 into Lexus of Wilmington for its 50,000 mile service and, as usual, dealt with George Shaer, one of the long-time service representatives there. I bought my first Lexus at Lexus of Wilmington in 1993 and we have since bought two more. One of the principal reasons I am so positive about Lexus as a brand is the quality of the service experience. I have been dealing with George for 17 years now. He knows our cars and their service records individually. He provides not only efficient and knowledgeable management of the service process, but expert consultation and advice about service issues as well. It is hard for me to imagine how he could do his job better from my perspective.Lexus of Wilmington understands that time is a very valuable commodity for their service customers, and they have designed their customer interaction process to be very efficient without compromising the quality of the communication that is required. Their provision of loaner cars is a major asset for busy customers, as is their ability to provide those loaners with an absolute minimum of time and paperwork involved. Since many of the loaners are new Lexuses, I suspect a number of new car sales are ultimately generated from people who drive them. I know that was the case for my wife and myself. But the main way the Service Department helps to generate new sales is just the overall ease of the service experience and the quality of the work they do. I would hate to have to go back to any other auto service department that I had experienced before I started with Lexus.

Having had 7 Lexus vehicles to this point, I can honestly say that I have always enjoyed my experiences . From reception ,to sales ,and most importantly service.Though it is safe to say that some experiences were better than others , none were ever unpleasant.Every effort is made to make the customer experience memorable.Youare made to feel like "family " when you walk in and every effort is made to make you feel comfortable while you are there.

We purchased a Lexus about 2 years ago from KOONS which is located almost 3 hours from our home. I was in the area and decided to stop as I was having a problem with the bluetooth connection in the car. A very nice sales person came out, his name was Doug Horst, he was very courteous and helpful. He told me they have never seen a problem with the bluetooth connection and it was usually owner cell phone problem. We walk into the service department and he ask Lanny Hamilton, assistant service manager, his attitude was not very friendly toward the salesperson and it was very embarrassing for him and me. So Doug went to Leigh Encarnacion the customer service manager. She was SO helpful and explained how we disconnected the bluetooth by accident. She was very thorough, friendly, new how to operate the car system. I was very impressed and very appreciated. I was in search of a pre-owned car since my old faithful decided to give up. Jim Koons Automotive was my first choice since my wife had made her last 2 purchases with them. I visited several different koons locations with Lexus of Wilmington being my first. The car i was interested in initially was sold like a couple of hours before i got there, but Doug and Jeff still were more than willing to allow us to test drive 2 others before leaving even though they were past their closing time. We left without making a purchase and continued to search other locations including Koons Annapolis Toyota, Koons Tysons Corner Toyota, Koons White Marsh and others. Representatives from all locations followed up in the days following. About a week later we got a call from Koons Lexus with information on a new promotion. We got there the next day and fell in love with a 2005 ES330 with the super low odometer reading of 15280 miles. Half way through the processing of the paperwork we saw another one that we had overlooked and asked if we could see that one. Doug was more than willing to assist even though we were halfway through the process on one car. We ended up looking at a couple more but in the end we stuck with our original decision. It is no surprise that we ended up right back where we first started our search as Koons Lexus was certainly a cut above the rest. The proffessionality, patience and warmth that Doug, Alex and the rest of the team displayed exemplified what true costomer service should be. In the weeks proceeding, we kept in contact as we took care of the necessary issues to complete the sale. Everytime i speak to a rep from Koons Lexes, whether by phone or in person, i am impressed. I would definately reccomend Koons Lexus to anyone in search of a car.

I visited Koons Lexus is search of a used Lexus LS. The general manager introduced me to Doug Horst to assist me. Doug advised me that they had a new showroom for their used inventory and took me to the location. The inventory was excellent and in no time at all I had selected the vehicle I wanted to purchase. From that point on Doug was amazing in his knowledge of the automoble and assiting me in a hassell free purchase. I must add that the used car general manager was also a pleasure to deal with. Doug's knowledge of the automoble and his overall assistance made my experience truely unique and pleasureable.

I purchased my Lexus in 2000 and it was actually a pleasant experience! The salesperson was SO friendly and honest. She is no longer working there or I'd mention her name. I have been taking my car back to Lexus of Wilmington for 11 years and have always had fantastic service. I am especially impressed with the prompt and courteous attention from both George Shaer in the Service Dept and Leigh Encarnacion in Customer Service. In all those years my car has been ready when promised except for one time...and that time only an additional half hour was needed. I am always provided with a new, clean loaner when I am not able to wait for my car. The waiting room is attractive and comfortable and a wide selection of beverages is always offered. I would highly recommend this dealer to anyone who is looking for quality service as well as wishing to be treated with courtesy and respect.

I would like to commend Leigh Encarnation, who in serviced me on the rather complex blue tooth / cell phone setup, a feature I had not used since I bought the RX about 18 months ago. Leigh did an excellent job both programming and showing me how to program this nice hands free telephone feature. Also, I brought my 350 RX in for its 20M mile maintenance. As usual, the service and courtesy of the service folks was excellent. I enjoyed working with Al over the 11 years and 3 cars I have brought from this dealership. He goes the extra mile whenever necessary.

My daughter saw a 2008 IS250 online at Koons and her and I went and met Ronny. He made my duaghter feel comgortable with our decision to purchase the IS. It was exactky the color she was looking for and Ronny gave us a wealth of information about this vehicle including the certified warranty. It was like purchasing a new vehicle. We just purchased our 4th Lexus, a 2011 RX450H. The first 3 were also purchased at Koon's Lexus of Wilmington.The salesmen involved in our previous purchases were good, but Ron Gibboni was excellent. He answered all of our questions before they were asked and more. Purchasing a new car is usually stressful, it wasn't this time, thanks to Ronnie G. and Alex.Whether we were there for service or just to browse, Alex Hafer always makes us feel very comfortable.The service department is the best around. In the past, before owning a Lexus, we've ventured away from dealership service departments due to lack of or poor service. Since we've owned a Lexus, the only place our vehicles are serviced, is Lexus of Wilmington and we've been very satisfied.We would definitely recommend Koon's Lexus of Wilmington to friends, family and anyone shopping for a new vehicle.

Being a woman, I appreciate the peace of mind Koons Lexus of Wilmington gives me. At the recomendation of my father, I purchased my first certified pre owned Lexus and have never looked back.They have assisted with sales/service and auto body repair. The first thing I noticed is customer service-you are treated with respect be it whether or not you have a brand new car or a 5 year old car. I always have had problems with service-not so at Koons-they listen to you when the car comes in for service to diagnose any issues. They are flexible as far as getting the car getting there which works for different schedules.As far as sales go-Leigh is the face of the dealership-always ready to assist customers to make sure their Lexus experience is one they want to repeat. She does a wonderful job of doing that.

I initially visited the dealership to browse the vehicles on the lot. I was greeted by Doug Horst who took me to the inventory warehouse. The collection and quality of pre-owned vehicles are amazing. But, Doug's professional demeanor, patience and knowlege about the cars got my attention. I was also impressed by the class look of the show room and sales staff. I had a wonderful experience at the dealership and subsequently purchased a 2009 Lincoln MKS.

As indicated in the survey extended experience with the dealership has been GREAT. I had a lease contract for my vehicle that terminated this month. I was not in a position to my a purchase and enjoyed my vehicle. There is little presssure to buy, sales staff are knowledgeable. Service hours are flexible, free loaner is a plus, unfortunately for the buyer, Lexus is able to get good price(s) for their cars and service work, but I still trust the service enough to bring my cars here for most of the work after the sale.

We concur that Koons Lexus of Wilmington is excellent. Not only do they sell a quality product, but also they back what they sell with competent service and support.Our most recent experience with Koons Lexus of Wilmington was for our first service on our new 2010 GX 460. The service was under warranty and we also had the vehicle completely detailed. We had the use of a 2010 RX 350 loaner with less mileage than our own vehicle! At the end of the day our GX was ready, but it was not convenient for us to return to the dealership. No problem ... we kept their loaner overnight and exchanged it for our GX the next day when it was convenient for us.Our previous experience was for the software update that caused Consumer Reports to temporarily recommend against the GX 460. Our GX was the first to be updated, it was done on our schedule and at our convenience while we had lunch at a nearby restaurant. By the time lunch was over our vehicle was updated, washed and returned with a full tank of gas, which was expected. What was unexpected was that we also received a new set of floor mats!Prior to our GX 460 we owned a 2006 RX 400h. We left the RX at home for several weeks while we were on vacation, but returned on a weekend to a dead battery! Not only that, but also a late-December blizzard! We called Koons Lexus of Wilmington early on Monday morning and their service manager Greg Ritter took our call. Before the morning was over we had two emergency crews from Koons Lexus of Wilmington, but neither could restart our vehicle. We were provided with a loaner and our vehicle was taken in on a flat-bed tow truck.As our repair was unscheduled and complicated by record snowfall, we had the use of their loaner vehicle for four days while our vehicle was repaired, plus we had the next service maintenance performed. Our vehicle was returned to us on Christmas Eve with all repairs, maintenance and detailing complete. Meanwhile we were able to finish our Christmas shopping using their loaner.These recent and relevant good experiences with Koons Lexus of Wilmington are typical and have kept us in the Lexus family for sixteen years. We have owned ten Lexus vehicles, not all of them purchased at Koons Lexus of Wilmington as we also lived in Arizona and Florida, but all of them serviced at Koons Lexus of Wilmington when we would visit Delaware. We have had experience with Lexus dealerships across the country, but Koons Lexus of Wilmington is more than their match.Once they have completed their long-awaited remodeling, Koons Lexus of Wilmington will have eliminated their only disadvantage, i.e., their thriving dealership is housed in a cramped and obsolete building that while ideally situated for their customers is limited by the physical structure of the building. Fortunately, that problem can be solved with money, which Koons Lexus of Wilmington is willing to spend for the benefit of their customers.

However, you will NOT get any type of service here at Lexus of Wilmington. I am extremely shocked by the poor service I received. I have taken my car in twice to this service department - but NEVER AGAIN will they receive my business.I have been to two other Lexus dealerships across the country (CA and NY, this is because of moving several times) and I have NEVER had such poor service. I never imagined that I would be treated with such disrespect. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE. The individuals are RUDE and DISRESPECTFUL.Their premises are also extremely outdated. Try another dealership, don't waste your time here. I am never returning.
