I did feel my car that I traded in of less than 1 year (2016 Hyundai Elantra with only 14,000 miles) was worth more the trade in value as it had more options than the new one but agreed to final payment amount in the end. I do love the new car purchased but it does take a little to get used to as it an automatic with the dual clutch thingy. I only drive in drive I don't use the paddle shifters or drive in sport mode. It gives a little shutter at first take off from a stop - this I was told is perfectly normal- but it does take a little to get use to.

Like the song, "Here we go again" Your car, (New or Old) needs to be taken care of. I have the choice of bring it anywhere! But I choose to bring it back to the Hyundai Dealership, "LIA". I can give you a thousand reasons, but the one that sticks out, is the first Sonata I for the first Sonata I purchased. It was a 2006 that I purchased from a non Hyundai Dealer. Just having the oil changed was a pain!!!Anyway, The problem turned out to be an "O: ring around the plug. This ALWAYS NEEDED TO BE CHANGES!!! Every time the oil was changed, the same thing happened!!! OIL LEAK! The dealer I purchased the car from was very apologetic, but I thought If they had to bring it back to a Hyundai Dealer,,,,,, Then,,,,,,,, why don't I do it at my convince .The were several other problems that the 1st. Dealer made excuses for, and Lia took care of for me, I since have purchased a 2009 Verecruz, and a 2011 Elantra "Touring". and a 2014 Hyundai Azera!! All from Lia Hyundai! I would say, that purchasing several cars from the same place, puts me in good with everyone. Maybe so, but I have watched how the service writers work, and take care of everyone. Courtney Mims is so accommodating, I feel as if she was my daughter!!!. Well Done Courtney. As far as the service mgr., well He has to show the way for those who work under him, and I know first hand how he works. Chris Derick is the "MAN"!!! Thanks to all in the Service Department!!! Ira really took time to go over everything especially my bluetooth. I had issues with pairing it after purchase and had to stop back into the dealership a couple times. Each time I came back in Ira made sure to come out and go over everything and repair my phone.

While driving on some nasty roads, I heard noise coming from the front end of my car. I was near Lia Hyundai of Hartford, so I stopped to get it check out. Dane Morissette wrote a work order, and after a road test, and physical inspection, the service dept. found worn front sway bar links. They replaced them while I waited, approximately 3/4 of an hour, and off I went. From the dealership to home I drove on rough roads. Noise was gone. THANK YOU DANE, THANK YOU SERVICE DEPARTMENT.

Promises made at time the of sale that were not kept once the deal was finalized. Then I didn't get a loaner car as promised for service appt and I was sent to Enterprise Lia would pay and when I got there they had no cars. It was a frustrating experience.

My first call was to service manager and was very professional. I was new to Lia Hyundai as a customer. I had an engine light go on that was related to the transmission sensor. The parts had to be order and would be in on mon oct 24. At that time I would come back to have new parts installed. Dane was service writer and greet me and had taken down all my information on my SUV. I was very pleased with the professionalism they showed me.

I found this sale man Ed to be very pushy. I came into to ask about sales promotions I had seen on TV. Oh that car will not cost the 179 a month you saw. Try 280$ a month with 4400$ down for the Tuscan. Next he is pushing the Elantra for 220$. The amount required goes up to 9000$. Finally sale manager comes to speak to me. They basically escorted me to the door. Nope do not visit these people.

My husband and I came back to Lia Hyundai of Hartford and asked for Mustafa Mamedov specifically because we enjoyed both the dealership and our experience with Mustafa when we purchased our first vehicle (Sonata). This time around Mustafa was once again great, professional and patient. I could not decide between the Veloster and the Elantra Limited and as stated previously, Mustafa was very patient with me and discussed all the options between both cars and even went above an beyond to locate a particular color I was looking for. Ultimately, I choose the Veloster and I love my new Hyundai. The entire process was a breeze, and I left with a car within a couple of hours. I could not be happier with the dealership, or my new car! My only complaint was that my salesman told me my Tucson was equipped with a remote car starter through the Hyundai blue like app. He talked up the app in great detail and explained everything that I could do with it; start the car, adjust the temperature and so forth. Come to find out, the phone app is only available with the limited model. He really should have known this and not told me I would have it. But other than that, I am super happy with the experience and would recommend them in the future.

We received a mailing fro Lia Hyundai with what we thought was a deal too good to be true but we decided to check it out anyway. Well, when we arrived we were greeted by a young man who was interested in listening to what we were interested in looking at. He could not have been nicer or more professional. If there was something he wasn't sure about, he found someone who could answer our question. We were very pleased with the entire process. There was no high pressure sales tactics just professional dealings. When we got down to making the actual deal we found out that the mailing was not just a come-on. We received a deal that we were very happy with and walked out of there with a beautiful 2016 Tucson. We will recommend Lia Hyundai to anyone who is looking for a new or used car.

Lets start this review by saying I always have gone to this dealership with my cars. And its near to my work and I will also continue to service my cars there. I will say the service is okay. the shuttle service is great and the driver is awesome. Last day I had my regular service and had my brake job done.. Things were prompt, but the wheels were greasy,had another issue and they opened up the dash and the cigarette lighter cover kinda broke(they didn't even do a good job putting it back after I came back the next day to have it fixed. Its a small thing and idc :- they just need to improve on things like this). Anyways however that is not the whole point of this review. My girlfriend wanted a car and after shopping for some used cars, I thought its best to go for a certified used or a brand new Elantra (2016s are be cheaper now) . I love open communication and I know salesmen are trained to talk too much and butter you up, but I told the guy in the beginning, just to work on the numbers and you will get the business, I hate wasting my time. I have a price range in my mind and I hate playing games. you show me your best and i will work with you. I was very open. They didn't have a 2016 with a popular package so they showed us a certified 2016 for some price. I couldn't accept it as it was too much for a used and I gave them a price and told them we will take it for that price he said he will "work with us" meaning he will just talk and talk and make you feel that its the best deal. So I called up the Lia Hyundai of Enfield , asked if they have any NEW 2016s left with the popular package and I told this too :- that I want it for this certain price. I told them to call me back after working the figures and if you can come to my price, we will come now. or.. have a great day. they called me back.. and tried playing games by telling me to come in.. I told them clearly to come to my price and I will sign today or have a great day. Within 5 minutes they called me and say they can do it. And, I told my girlfriend and her family to leave Lia Hyundai of Hartford cuz we could get a brand new for the same price of the hartford's used 2016. I understand people being pissed for losing a deal. Well too bad I didn't wanna play games and you couldn't work the numbers . Me and my girlfriend left in my car and her parents were on another car. The guy who talked to us went and talked to her Dad and told him to come back without me and they will give a better deal.. like What??? seriously ? And he said I disrespected their salesman. No dude. I told him clearly I don't have time to talk and just work on the figures and get me a good deal. Is that how you talk about the customers? The only reason why they came was cuz of me. Cuz I thought you guys would give a deal. Too bad you couldn't. Its our money. We decide what to spend it on and what to buy. Of course if we get a brand new for the same price of a Used, We will go for it. I don't have any commitment to you. We all work hard for our money and we go where we get a better deal. I hate running around for deals. If you are genuine and want to have the business, give me the best price. I will take it. Saves a lot of time and for me.. Time=Money. I know some people love bargaining and talking too much. But with people like me, give me the best and I will take it. Anyways we got the Car from Lia Hyundai Of Enfield, and trust me.. The people there are not aggressive , but calm . I love that kind of an Environment instead of being pushed. Anyways to sum it up, I genuinely felt offended by the way he talked to my girl friend's Dad and what was he thinking? That he wont tell me? The funny thing is that all of us were there and they were like.. " Did you talk to this guy without us"? "How did you disrespect him?" "We didn't feel so".. The salesman was actually aggressive to us and not the other way. Anyways, hope these guys aren't like that to all and hope my ethnicity was not the reason for the guys to talk like that about me.

Went to look at a new Hyundai Elantra and right from the beginning Hecter greeted us with a big smile and alot of excitement. He made the car buying experience very easy and was very professional. He showed me the car I wanted with the options that I wanted. We took a thorough test drive on the highway and around town. I wouldn't recommend this company to my worst enemy! It has been hell since the day I purchased my vehicle. they promised me my car's navigation would work within 7days and after having the car 2 months I'm yet to have a working navigation system. I have nothing but empty promises and a lack of communication on their part. My engine leak was found within the first week of having my vehicle and they patched it up and my engine was leaking and had the same issues that they claimed to have fixed. I had to bring my car to another dealership in order for it to get fixed properly.

Deen greeted at the door, I came looking for a good deal and a specific vehicle. He was very kind and attentive, gave me a choice of colors and i fell in love with the car. There was no pressure, they gave me time to think and I bought the car that day for a terrific price in my budget. I was stopped by a shopper in walmarts who loved my car. I went in for an oil change, Dane Morrisette the service technician was polite, professional and very helpful. He advised the car was due for 60,000 mile service explained the options and gave an estimate of both time and cost. The work was completed on time and a little less than the cost estimate. As always I was happy with the service which is why I always return to Lia for service.

This was my first time buying a car and I was so nervous that I was going to do something wrong or not get it for the right price. I were first directed to a really lousy salesman, so I went to one of the managers and asked for someone else to speak with. He paired me up with Roger Tebow. Roger was so nice and got me a really great price. I called other dealerships to ask about the price and even they agreed. Roger gave me plenty of time to think it over and didn't pressure me at all. The next time I, or someone I know, needs a car I will certainly be directing them to Roger Tebow.

Most disappointing service I have experienced. Took my car for brakes to be serviced, and walked away with a Huge Bill and interestingly missed the most dangerous issue with my car and that was a Tie Rod that needed repair was not identified. This started with the service department telling me that they could not turn my rotors because they were to rusted. The rotors on my Sonata had never been turned prior. After the manager saying that he would not allow my rotors to be turned, and that if I took the car away from the dealer I had to pay a large amount of labor costs, I was also informed that they had already started unapproved repairs. Finally with the "existing" labor cost hanging over my head I agreed to go forward with the repairs. These repairs included having the alignment done, interestingly the next day I took my car to NY State for Inspection and Emissions testing and was told that I had a bad Tie Rod. How can you align a car with a Tie Rod that is not stable? They tested my battery to tell me that needed replacement, but they never told me a dangerous issue existed with my Tie Rod. My advice, find a good local mechanic or go to another Hyundai dealer for service.

I purchased a Nissan Rogue from them. I wasn't allowed to test drive the car off the lot or I would have noticed the belt on the vehicle squeals when you accelerate. It bucks and loses power on hills. The A/C leaks as well. I was told the car was around 18,999 the paperwork says that it was 24,000 and the payments are super high. My sales person had a hygiene problem also. I went to pick up the car it was never cleaned and has stains on the seats. When I called the next day to complain I was told I signed the papers its my car. Worst experience ever. I waited two weeks for approval and they screwed up my credit just to get an approval. I wish I never went to this dealership. Now I'm stuck paying $44,000 on a car that was supposed to $18,999.

Despite the past experiences I've had with this dealership and their service manager there is nothing better then going in and seeing Courtney, she is very outgoing, smart about her job, when I had an oil change there was one more concern I had on my car, while the mechanic was working on my car she was very kind to keep me posted with what was going on with my car, she is always smiling, also a great shout out to the Mechanic (I forgot his name) very precise to the detail while working with my car, didn't take him too long, my most recent oil change was a great experience

Every regularly scheduled maintenance visit goes smoothly and I continue to be impressed! This oil change I also brought up a strange noise happening, and after they were able to take a look at it they told me what was wrong, the process to fix it, and told me they'll call when the part comes in. My experience at Lia Hyundai recently was excellent. Cortney Mims assisted me with my service. She was excellent. She asked me if there was anything she could help me with. she assisted me with a couple of items. One was the Eco light was going on and off. She told me that was normal. Also she took care of my new iPhone connection which I couldn't figure out. She did it so quickly. I was very impressed. I rate her as an excellent employee at lia Hyundai. I had a very poor experience when I purchased my car from Lia Hyundai Hartford last year. The only way that they compensated me was by giving me 2 free oil changes. I wasted days and days of waiting around for the Sales Rep to finalize my purchase. They hit my credit report 23 separate times which I cannot remove from my credit report for 2 years! Everything the Sales Rep assured me would happen was a lie. He assured me that the car would be certified pre-owned it was not. They assured me that my payment would be in a certain range it was not. They assured me that I did not have to put down a cash deposit because I was trading in last minute they demanded a cash deposit and claimed I was informed of this. I was not. When my purchased car was finally given to me and I was told I could leave, it was FILTHY inside and out with an empty gas tank and did not go through emissions! I could go on and on about my horrible experience at Lia Hyundai of Hartford. This year, I decided to give them another chance and look into another purchase. After all, we all deserve second chances, right? I know I needed one with my credit score being on the lower side. I spoke with the Manager, Gene and explained how I was reluctant to work with them again after my unfortunate experience last year. He assured me over and over again that he would make sure I received exceptional customer service this time around. That was 2 weeks ago. I have been waiting and waiting for a return call for 2 weeks. I have called several times since then, they keep telling me they will have the Sales Rep get right back to me. They claim he was out sick. Then he was in the hospital. Then he was with a customer.. and the list of lies once again goes on and onHorrible customer service. If at all possible go somewhere else. This place treats you like you are invisible. You must beg them for return phone calls or proper consideration and the honesty is non-existent. Even from a Sales manager! I rencently went there to purchase a car, the saleman was nice and did a good job helping me but the finance mananger was horible very rude and he acted like he was doing me a favor. I had a trade in a brand new car he gave me a very low offer for it and say my 2013 vw should be in the auction because tragarse the only place people would buy my 2013 vw. After he spoke to me he i got up to leave he did not even offer me a business card incasse if i change my mind. Like what kind of manager act like they dont need a customer? Horible finance manager. I Would never get a car from lia Hyundai or recomend it to someone.

I was able to call in on a Thursday morning and get an service appointment that afternoon to have the front brakes on my Hyundai Elantra serviced at 68K miles. I was promptly taken care of when I pulled into the Service Area and was out within one-and-a-half hours. I also had a 20% off coupon for the work and everything was done expertly. Very satisfied.

2 times I made an appointment only to be told I was there for an oil change.Had to get the general manager involved to get parts ordered and seat fixedSat for 5 hours on 3rd appt.......no loaner........they couldn't find an electrical problemGot home, seat does not go back....only forwardNot to mention I was on time for my appointment but service people did not sign me in for 20 minutes and then a 15 minute wait before they even took my vehicle into a garageLia Hyandai of Hartford -------no more cars bought there!!!!!

Typically, I don't like the car buying process. But, I have to say this was the most memorable experience I've had. Every other dealership I shopped at made me feel like they weren't listening to what I was looking for in my next car. On top of that, there was pressure from the other salespeople even after I told them I wasn't buying today! Then I ended up at Lia Hyundai in Hartford and was greeted by Brett. I feel I came across a little rude to him at first because I was expecting the same behavior from this dealership. I told Brett that I wasn't making a decision today and he replied "No Problem" with a smile. I told him what my budget was and what I was looking for in my next vehicle and he assured me he would find something within my budget. Brett actually found the PERFECT car for me and it was UNDER what my budget was. He saved me roughly $2100. Even though I wasn't going to purchase a car that day, I did anyway because my expectations were exceeded. Even the Sales Manager Chad greeted me and was friendly and the finance department was pleasant to work with! Since my purchase, Brett has followed up with me 3 times to make sure I loved the car and to see if there were any questions I had for him. No one has ever called me back from other dealerships in the past after I purchased a car. Great job all around at Lia Hyundai!!

Main Complaints: 1. Chris Bushey from Sales made me believe that there would not be a hard inquiry on my credit record when I signed the financing application for pre-approval by their finance department but they pulled a hard inquiry anyway. When confronted, the Sales Manager, Chad Pomeroy, said I was making things up and challenged the truthfulness of my complaint. He asked me to get my official report and drive 30 miles one way to their location again to prove it. I just got the official credit reports from all three credit agencies, which prove me right, and I will have to go there again.2. During our first conversation, after consulting with his manager (possibly Chad Pomeroy, I'm not sure), Chris positively confirmed that the price would be another $2,000 or $2,400 rebate from the price provided by Edmunds.com, which is $26,440. But during our second conversation, they suddenly changed their mind and refused any rebate, citing ambiguous wordings from the Edmunds.com certificate. 3. Knowing that they made several mistakes, instead of admitting it and apologizing, they still denied any wrongdoing, accusing me for my failure to understand the vague language of the certificate regarding to their change in price offering. Chad called in another employee in the dealership, Timmy from Finance, to gang up on me when I complained about the hard inquiry, challenging the creditworthiness of my source ("I couldn't care less about what this software (on your phone) says (about the inquiry)", my definition of hard inquiries, and my integrity ("you are just making up stories"). Absolutely worst attitude I've ever seen from any sales people. Details:I've been in the market for an upgrade of my current car. Did some research on Edmunds.com and they gave me an offer certificate of a new 2013 Sonata SE 2.0T w/ premium package at a price $26,440 from Lia Hyundai of Hartford, which was a decent deal so I decided to go and check it out last Friday, Oct 11th. I was in a hurry so I did not print the certificate but I have the certificate in my phone as an email from Edmunds. The first encounter with the salesperson Chris Bushey was generally pleasant. When closing our first conversation, I was being entirely honest with them by admitting that I still had to check out some other cars before I can make a final decision whether the Sonata is the right car for me. Chris went to talk to his manager (possibly Chad) and came back with an offer of $2,000 or $2,400 rebate. The $400 difference would depend on whether I can successfully apply for financing. I showed Chris the Edmunds certificate and explicitly asked if the $2,000/$2,400 is in addition to the $26,440 price offered by the certificate. He positively confirmed that that was the case. As the $400 difference in that extra rebate depends on whether I can get financing, Chris told me I can just submit a form for their own Finance Department for pre-approval, assuring me that there wouldnt be any hard inquiry, after I expressed my reluctance of getting a hard inquiry on my credit report when I was still not sure I actually want this car. I explicitly asked Chris again right before I signed the form and he again assured me that no hard pull is going to happen. And this concluded my first conversation with Lia Hyundai of Hartford. I got an email from my credit monitoring service, Credit Karma, who pulls data directly from TransUnion, alerting me that on Oct 11th, a hard inquiry was made on my credit by HYUNDAI-HART. And this really upset me. They told me one thing and did exactly the opposite. I drove there again the first chance I got yesterday afternoon (Monday, Oct 14th) to stop any potential further damage to my credit. Chris told me he was unaware about the Finance Departments method of preapproval. At this point, from my point of view, the hard inquiry could be sunk cost, and since the price (26,440 2000 = 24,440) was attractive, I was genuinely willing to go through the process and make the deal happen, with the possible further rebate with financing (24,040). I engaged in deep discussion about financing with Chris but, for a first timer in getting an auto loan, the uncertainties and the complication reached a point that I went back to the option of paying it in full and just get the 24,440, a price Chris confirmed with me again and again. I asked Chris if their Finance Department can take off the hard inquiry, since I was willing to pay in cash and the hard inquiry really did happen without my consent. He went to talk to the manager and that was when everything changed.First he came back, telling me the 2000/2400 rebate was no more, as the Edmunds certificate says Price MAY include incentives and manufacturer rebates. But the certificate also says Lia Hyundai of Hartford is committed to: Additional rebates may be available to those who qualify. And after so many times of confirmation from Chris, I, as a customer, had enough reason to believe in the validity of your additional 2000/2400 rebate and use that as an interpretation of the vague language of the certificate. Changing price offering at the very last minute is not the way to business and everybody knows that. Chris was no longer able to resolve this issue anymore and I asked to talk to his manager. That was when Chad came in. I try to be as objective as possible in this review but I have to add here the experience with Chad is the worst I have ever had my entire life. He was not prepared to help to begin with and became hostile and passive aggressive soon enough. He simply refused to admit that the sales person under his supervision made the mistakes. Regarding to the price change, he ignored the vagueness of the language on the certificate and the fact that Chris was the one that led to my convinced interpretation of the language by pointing that sentence (Price MAY include) out multiple times, implying that it was my mistake to believe in the 24,440 price, which your salesperson confirmed again and again, any way. OK. Thats the way you deal with your screw-ups and thats fine. No deal then. Just take the hard inquiry off my record and I will try to forget this horrible dealership. And then what happened was already illustrated in Point 3 of the Main Complaints. Now I have the reports and I have to go back and deal with these people. Thank you Lia Hyundai for a lesson for life.

This ordeal began with the engine failure of my 2011 Sonata with 54k miles.Iwas first acused of not having any service records since purchase.I pointed out that i have been using a extended range fully synthetic oil that removed the necessity of coming to the dealer ship every 7500 miles.Ifurther explained that this oil was good for up to one year or 25 k miles.I showed him my 3 reciepts for the oil changes and suggested because i had no reciepts from the dealer for service that the warrantee would be invalid. I HAD TO SHOW HIM THE FEDERAL LAW THAT PROTECTS CONSUMERS THAT STATES USING SYNTHETIC LAW DOES NOT VOID YOUR WARANTEE.Imentioned that he needed to remove the valve cover and the failure would be apparent.they would not tell me what failed when the rep saw the damage. theengine failure was found to be a manufacturing defect not oil related!!.To make matters worse they left me without a vehicle for over 6 weeks,only offering me a loaner for 4 days!!!! the other offer was a enterprise rental for $30 a day!!!.I declinded To say i was left stranded was a understatement

This is My email explaining why I would not be going back to them...:Not sure how that deal was good news....Thanks for your time JD .I am looking to deal with a dealer who is willing to provide the best deal out of the shoot, the back and forth does not give me a high level of confidence this is the case... ..first you offer on 13K buy out with high down payment..( the buy out was a very fare offer for sure!). I mention I do not want an out of pocket and I want to try to be about $250 per Month if possible. if you can not do it, no worries, just tell me.........Then you all come back a Min latter you make a no Money down offer I was about ready to go with as I started to fill out the credit application....Then you say oops sorry that deal requires $1,700 down... and I walk after you gave me my keys back... not sure why you had to hold those as you never car out.... ...no problem if the deal can't be done I understand, then you come up with a way with your VM to offer $1,000 down on a 13K pay off at $286 per month , $700 less.? Then I respond with a lower payoff of $11,797 pay off $1,200 less pay off 0 down and now at $282... $4.00 difference ? WhyDo I need to make any down payment I am bringing in a 2012 clean trade?Please try to put yourself in my shoes....Please share this email with your sales Manager for sure....I will not be back to your dealership any time soon,I was born at night but not last night... I wish you all the best.

When potential customers read these reviews, remember, there are 2-sides to every story. As I am limited in my purchasing power due to my age (19). It took me a little while to decide what I wanted. During my visit, I did witness the customers being the unreasonable and rude people. The salespeople seemed to be in the middle. The salespeople doing everything they can for the customer and then the salespeople have to deal with the managers. Finally, I did purchase my car from a very nice lady named Marlene. It was a 2010 Hyundai Elantra and she followed through with everything she said. I think what happens is that so many people hear about or experienced a negative experience somewhere else and then drag all their negative drama from one dealership to another.

They insulted my intelligence by presenting me with a rediculous price after spending 1 1/2 hours with them looking at two used cars. The offer was about $1800 more than the price advertised on their website and it was close to the price of a brand new car with rebates which they never bothered to mention. I was also told the rediculous price included a loyalty discount, since I had bought a used car from them in 2010 -- that was a decent deal then, but I won't be buying from them anymore.

Joe turned what potentially could have been a disaster into the best car buying experience we've ever had and Ira was great! This Lia dealership impresses me in all aspects. I work for a credit union but when I was offered 0% financing for 5 years I jumped at the opportunity! I was able to pay off the loan in less than 1-1/2 years. When we picked up the car, it had a gritty surface so it went back in the shop to be buffed. It was no better the second time around. We spoke to our salesman who had it brought back in the shop. When it came out this time, it was sleek and smooth...just as a new car should be! About a year later, one of my headlights went out and I stopped in to find out just what kind of bulb was needed so my husband could buy it and change it. I was informed that it was covered under my warranty and they took it right in (with no appointment) and fixed it. There was a nice lounge to wait in complete with complimentary coffee. And I was most impressed with how clean the service office was. I've seen a lot of service areas and this was the best organized, clean area I have ever seen. I highly recommend this dealership to anyone looking for a vehicle. Not to mention my car is over two years old and is still running great! A fantastic dealership with dependable cars to back it up. What's not to love?

I bought a 2013 Elantra GT on 9/8/12. It was a great process and I dealt with many great people. I was able to sign and drive away the same day. BUT, I have had electrical issues since buying the car and dealing with the service department has been challenging. The first few times they told me it was just "new car computer issues" and there was no problem. When the car failed to start, I had it jumped and drove it in but they couldn't find any issues. They said if it happens again to not jump it and have it towed. It did and I sat in the dealership for 4 hours just to get the battery replaced. I still have issues with the radio display resetting on start up but I've given up trying to go through the dealership and am dealing with Hyundai directly.

I did not intend on buying a car that day but I did any way. The price was inflated, they offered no discount, it ws a hard sell with an interest rate 1% above my mortgage rate. I did not like the car I wanted a GPS system in it. Despite all of this I bought the car.I'm now stuck with a car payment first one in over 12 years, paying 75 dollars more for a Hyundai than my 2001 cadillac which they wanted to give me only a dollar for, and the sticker price on the 2013 Elantra which I believe was only supposed to be 16 thousand, not 19 thousand.My fault, I listened to an excellent salesman, the features of the car I like, and it is good on gas. I can't afford the $366 car payment, it now takes up all of my discretionary money, monthly. My fault, at one point I did try to walk away and should have continued walking out the door.Excellent salesmanship was the reason I purchased an over priced Hyundai Elantra three months ago, I still regret the decision, because of my financial burden.

I bought a jeep wrangler 2008 from this place, I even got the $2000 extended warrenty. After I,had the jeep for 1 week I noticed small issues with the clucth rubber ans a small leak above the window. I returned it for service and that did nothing. Last week the check engin light comes on I called it in. I only put 10,000 mile on the truck and they tell me I need a $600. Valve repair I fliped because I was sold a bs warrenty. I called jeep they said they will fix it for $150.00 yep that's all! LIA STOP RIPPING PEOPLE OFF

As a satisfied owner of a 2004 Santa Fe with well over 100,000 miles and no major problems, I have been very happy to suggest looking at Hyundai's to friends &amp; relatives who are looking to buy a new car. Sadly, the recent purchase of a Tucson at the Lia Hartford dealership has been a huge embarrassment to me and a cause of great stress to my family.This vehicle has a major safety flaw. To be specific, without a key in the ignition, a driver behind the wheel, or a foot on the brake, an accidental bump can cause the vehicle to shift itself into gear, and roll. Yes, you read that correctly. No key, no driver, and no foot on the brake and it can roll down the slightet slope until it hits a car, house, tree, phone pole, or what have you.The vehicle was taken back to the selling dealership less than a month after purchase because of this safety issue. The dealership claimed not to be aware of this problem and at the insistance of the buyer checked a new Tucson for sale on the lot. Guess what? Yup! Same problem on brand spanking new FOR SALE vehicle!OK, so the dealership took the Tucson, gave a loaner, and was supposed to take care of the problem. So here we are, TWO WEEKS LATER and NOTHING.....NOTHING has been done! Apparently there has been a total change of management (if that's what you want to call it) who seem to be intent on driving this dealership into the ground. They're off to a great start! They wanted their loaner back and went to pick it up, leaving a parent and three children calling for a ride home! This family finally picked up their UNREPAIRED VEHICLE after having been without it for a two weeks. Can it be driven? Yes. Is it safe? How would you feel if it was YOUR CHILD in this runaway vehicle? EXACTLY WHAT IS THIS HYUNDAI ASSURANCE AND THE WONDERFUL WARRANTY THAT YOU PEOPLE PRIDE YOURSELVES ON AND BRAG ABOUT?????I am totally disgusted in the way Lia Hyundai has handled this serious safety issue. Lia Auto Group and Hyundai USA need to step up to the plate and do the right thing, and at this point the right thing is to REPLACE THIS DEFECTIVE VEHICLE WITH A BRAND SPANKING NEW VEHICLE, UPGRADE THEM TO A SANTA FE WITH ALL THE BELLS AND WHISTLES, AND GIVE A SINCERE APOLOGY for all the anxiety and mistreatment you've put them through.It's the least you can do! The Tucson is junk!!THE MANAGEMENT AT THIS DEALERSHIP NEEDS TO REALIZE THAT CUSTOMER SERVICE AND WORD OF MOUTH CAN MAKE THEM OR BREAK THEM. They need to do the right thing. Question is...will they?

There is a major safety issue with the car and this dealership not only refuses to fix it but denies that it exists even after I showed them. I am working with Hyundai to fix this problem and think it will work out but this dealership has worked against me since the day they hired their new GM.

So me and my wife purchased a used 2009 Santa Fe about 2 weeks ago and we are THRILLED!! Paul Hewitt helped us through out the entire purchase and he made us feel so warm and welcome that it made it easy to buy a car there. We never felt pressured to buy a vehicle here and Paul never came accross like we needed to. They gave us a generous offer for our trade in that in my opinion was more than they needed to give us and was more than car max was offering. I wasn't sure I really wanted a Hyundai, I was looking for a sedan and had now been seeing Hyundai commercials pretty steadily for the last 10 years. I ended up going to Lia in Hartford to browse around a bit. I met Paul Hewitt on the lot and quickly felt respected and welcomed. More than anything, how I feel when I want to buy something matters. I am highly sensitive to pushy sales tactics or rude and unresponsive salesmen. Paul was great. I learned a great deal about the car from Paul and was quickly comfortable with the way things were going. After about an hour I knew I wanted the car, and without being frustrated with me one bit through the entire conversation I decided to buy from Paul. I then met his manager Tom Gallant who was just as respectful and polite as Paul. They seemed to have a great working relationship and it stood out to me. There was a nice vibe in the dealership. The transaction went very smooth and I feel I paid a fair price. I am more than happy with my Sonata and even more happy about the experience I had purchasing the car from Paul, Tom and Lia Hyundai. I will recommend and will return for my next Hyundai......(as long as Paul and Tom are there to visit with). p.s. It's all about the Customer's Experience, its the most important part of the story, and this one, it's perfect.

This was my worst buying experience in 40 years of buying new cars. I was told to pick up the car at a certain time and the sales person told me I had a 2 hour wait to see the Business Mgr because they were backed up. Waited 45 Minutes and then was told the car was just being detailed for delivery = would you not think it would be ready for my appointment. Must have lied about Business Mgr to buy time for the detailing. I asked for a lender to go home and will come back the next day to accept delivery which they wanted me to do in the first place = come back tomorrow. Never once was there anything said like what can I do to make you happy = two free oil changes never offered anything. The Sales mManager made me feel like I was the problem and they did nothing wrong. So I asked for my deposit back and immediately he said OK. He let the deal go away - got my deposit back and left with no new car. While I was there there were 2 other disatisfied customers. Lia has a lot to learn about customer service. All they want is the sale.

Recently I was shopping around for a car, and I have visited may dealerships and I can tell you that the most honest and the best trade in, the best price I received at Lia Hyundai in Hartford. Let me start with the sales person Habib, he is very professional nice guy who help me with the selection, answered all my questions, explained the car, and constant follow up. For the my trade in the General Manager Tom Gallant was very fair (gave me the highest offer from all the 6 places I visited, Car Max offered 200 lowest, Hoffman 800, Toyota, 1,000 Hartel Nissan 1600, all in Hartford, Manchester De Cormier Nissan 1400, Manchester Hyundai 800 and Hartford Lia Hyundai gave me the fairest price 2,200). Well in addition I got the best financing as well at Lia Hartford (all the other ones were much higher Hartel one was the second most honest, but De Cormier Nissan raised the financing after we agreed on a rate, they are thief's) To make my point I gave you so much details, the finance worked out well thanks to Tom. I must point out that the service crew in the back they are doing also a very good job and they will call you by first name by the second visit. All in all even they have construction going on these are the best people and I highly recommend them.

We were greeted by the General Manager Tom Gallant before opening, he answered our questions, let us test drive on the lot. After placing a call to Kevin Savage to see if we could obtain the electrolyte green accent in a manual transmission, Sandy and Kevin were on the hunt. My husband had sent out email inquiries also to everyone on the eastern seaboard requesting this car. After telling Kevin Savage (and Sandy)that this car was located in a Mass dealership, they promptly contacted me to say they could get it to their dealership for our purchase. It was super fast. Kevin called my work number numerous times during the day and week to let me know about updates, status, and progress. I was so reassured about this transfer process it was great. I used to be a Honda fan for the last 25 years until now. After dealing with Lia Hyundai of Hartford, I will absolutely go there for my second car. Their financing dept. Phil Gulianni was able to get me a better rate than my credit union, and with all the follow up and follow through from everyone at the dealership I am thoroughly impressed and can't believe how easy and fun it was to buy the car. I/we look forward to calling Kevin again when we are ready for car number 2. As far as I'm concerned there isn't any other dealership to go to. Love me some LIA.

Buying process was simple and painless, just the way it should be! I went to Lia Hyundai knowing exactly what car I wanted but wanted to take a look at some of the features in the packages and to look at vehicle colors. I was TOTALLY not expecting to buy on car on that visit but after aout 5 minutes of painless negotiation, I walked away with what I considered to be a great deal. Maybe it was because it was the end of the month and end of the quarter, I don't know but I got a much better deal than I was able to put together at any other dealer. Also, from reading on some of the Hyundai forums, it sounds like I made out better than most. Beyond price however, was the level of professionalism and integrity that I felt from the dealership. I never felt any of those 'things' that you usually feel when buying a car; from the 'one-time' deal tactics, 'today only' claims; pressure to take the extra dealer markup items, numbers gymnastics to get the car to a certain monthly payment, etc. Just fast, honest dealings and a place the I can honestly say I felt proud to purchase from!

I was searching for a car with great mileage and you can't beat the Elantra. Tom went above and beyond with his customer service to listen to my needs and contact me as soon as a car was available for a test drive. I met Kevin when I went in for a test drive and he could not have been better. We went for a test drive and he explained all the components of the car. I decided to purchase the car after the test drive and everyone at the dealership worked together and I was able to pick up my new car later that day. When I did pick up my car, Kevin went over every detail of the car so I understood how to operate all the fun components as well as the safety features. He even set up the bluetooth to sync with my iPhone. Everyone at the dealership from Tom, Kevin and Eric in Finance were fantastic. We had the best experience at Lia Hyundai! Over the past couple months we've been visiting various car dealers and test driving different cars Honda, Mazda, etc. I wanted to make sure I was absolutely going to love what I ended up getting since this was the first new car I was ever purchasing. Other dealers were incredibly rude to us and made us feel like we were wasting their time and wouldn't even talk negotiations with us. I honestly began to give up on the search until we decided to revisit Lia Hyundai.We first stopped in to look at the 2012 accent a couple months previous but they didn't have any on the lot. The first visit was very pleasant, we didn't feel pressured since we were just browsing and Ishmael answered any questions we had. We later returned to test the Elantra and met with Ish again. He was incredibly friendly and has a great personality. Everyone was extremely welcoming and made us feel very comfortable throughout the whole process. I in no way expected to actually purchase a car that day but the deal was too good to pass up and they gave me an good deal on my trade in. The Elantra is a fantastic car and I couldn't be happier but mostly Ishmael and Phil made the process stress-free and easy. I never felt pressured or unwanted regardless of whether I ended up buying the car or not. I'm so happy I returned to Lia and will definitely be recommending their services to others in the future. Very pleasant experience. I went into look at cars and options during lunch and I left with a deposit on the vehicle. I did not expect to make an offer that day but ended up doing so and was pleased with he final price. I told Habib I did not want this to be a painful negotiation and it wasn't. Offer, counter offer, another counter offer, done; 7 minutes tops. Picked up car 4 days later and was painless as well. Overall I am pleased with my experience and I love the vehicle. Highly recommended.

The people at Hyundai Hartford were great to work with. They demonstrated all the features of each car I was interested in and never pressured me into making a decision. They were extremely easy to work with and answered all my questions. Instead of trying to convince me that I wanted a hyundai, they let the product speak for itself. Hyundai is making some great vehicles for a great price. When it came to buying a car, there was no haggling over monthly payments, interest, unnecessary fees, etc. We just talked about the total walk-away price of the car. It made it much much easier to negotiate.

He went out of his way to make sure that I got what I wanted in my new car. Aside from being very well-versed in the Hyundai brand, Will was also very helpful in the entire proccess of car buying in general. This was my first time purchasing a car and he made the experience truly wonderful and comfortable. We were able to get me into my new car in (less than) 24 hours. Will stayed late with us on a Saturday night and made sure that everything was in order when I picked up the car on Sunday. I went to Lia Hyundai in Hartford on August 23 in the search for a new car. When I arrived I was greeted by Philip and Kevin. I told them exactly what I was in the market for and Kevin brought me to those vehicles. After going for test drives I decided on the Santa Fe. Kevin was so knowledgable about his product and not once did I ever feel pressured. Next was dealing with the finance side of it. Philip was so friendly and answered all of my questions. He explained Siconiz to me and it was the perfect fit because of all the extra people always in my car. I have bought other cars before and working with Kevin and Philip made this experience so much more enjoyable. I have already told other people in the market for a car to go see Kevin and Philip at Hyundai and in a few years when I'm ready for another new car I will definitely be back to see them.

I recently went to Lia Hyundai of Hartford to buy a new car after owning mine for 6 years. I just graduated from graduate school and was looking for a new car to go with my new career! I was hesitant about going to a dealership on my own, as I am female, and have felt taken advantage of at other dealerships when bringing my car in for service. The fees I walked into were more walking out and led to no money in my pocket and a lot of frustration after my visit. This was NOT the case at Lia Hyundai of Hartford! I was greeted by a salesman out front who asked me how I was doing and if I needed help with anything. I explained to him what I was looking for, how much I could afford, what I could get for my trade in, etc. I had done some research before I went in so I would have a good idea whether or not I was getting a deal. The salesman walked me inside and introduced me to the managers who also greeted me with a smile and asked how I was doing. The salesman and managers worked together as a team to help me out and listened to what I was saying. I also worked with a friendly finance manager there who gave me many options on products and financing that was affordable for me. I never felt pushed into buying anything or rushed through the process and I was able to take my time and decide for myself what was best! Overall, it was a great experience!

All of the staff is friendly and really do care about the customer. I couldn't ask for a better experience! I highly recommend this dealership!! I just picked up my 2011 Sonata yesterday. Habib was awesome! He made us feel like we were the only ones there even though he had a few customers going at once. Phil was also great. I have less than perfect credit and he got me an AWESOME rate as well as providing me with his cell so that we could call him if anything went wrong! What service. Worst experience... Did not buy car here...Spoke with salesman several times and sent detailed emails including my schedule, deposit date as well as purchase date to salesman... Was going to use my own credit union for auto loan...He knew the plan from start to finish...Showed up Sunday to make a deposit and close the deal on Tuesday which salesman knew about...Sales manager Chris showed up and told me to buy the car TODAY for previously agreed price...Unprofessional... Rude... Chris tried to force me to use a loan from their dealer/finance manager...They used 'typical' sales tactic.... Did not appreciate it...Just walked out of showroom...Recently bought Acura from Executive Acura in New Haven and infiniti from Harte Infiniti in Hartford...Was very satisfied with them....I hope not all Hyundai dealer is like this...What a terrible unethical sales tactic they tried to use on me...Should give them '1' but I feel sorry for them and will give '2'I will get something else... After all, it is my money and my choice....

We had visited Lia Hyundai four times between October 2010 and June 2011. Each visit produced a better quality of sales/ customer relation. On June 9, 2011, we returned and was greeted by Habib good customer friendly skills and overall performance for Lia. We went home, due to loan issues and applied via E-Loan Bank of America. On June 15, 2011, we returned to Lia Hyundai and Habib arranged for us to purchase a tan 2011 Hyundai Sonata. Eric approaches and asks why did not I fill a credit application through his office, maybe he could find a better deal through his banks. No had offer this and Eric was told so. June 16,2011, met Phil G, loan processor. Phil made everything possible to get the best value for the trade-in and match the numbers to compliment everyone involved with his sale. Bottom line, we drove the Hyundai Sonata out of Lia's driveway.On June 29, 2011, Phil telephones our residence. He wanted me to return to his office on June 30, 2011 by 10:00 am. I reported to the dealer at 8:45 am. At 9:10 am, Phil introduces me a new finance deal that really helped me overall. The fiance lowered my monthly payment. Phil did not have to make the call on 6/29/2011, but he somehow remembered me. I would recommend this dealer to the consumer world. Each of our visit to Lia Hyundai produced a better quality of customer service. Outstanding work from sales to service to shuttle.

Gallant is the GM. Used very shady tactics to get us to purchase a car. Told us to leave several hundred dollars to hold a car and keep it from being sold. We did and when we went somewhere else and found a better deal,he didi not want to give us our money back. Said we would have to wait. Was very rude and unprofessional. We contacted owners in NJ by phone and email and got no response. They don't care at all about customer service here.

My wife and I went to Lia Hyundai in Hartford shopping for a new car. We had visited a total of 4 Hyundai dealerships in our area over 20 times in addition to conducting research online shopping for the best price. Chris was caught in no less than five lies in negotiating the price on the vehicle we were shopping for. First he quoted a price of 29,495 on MSRP of 31880 Santa Fe Limited and said that was the lowest he could go (period). I had asked if he could go lower for a better price... he said no - that he could not go any lower. We had a price from another dealer for same vehicle with MSRP of 31,990 of 28,500 so I knew he could absolutely go lower. Then my wife asked if he could get the same vehicle in green which she wanted vs black which was in stock. He said no - the price was only good for today and only for vehicles in stock. So I told my wife... let's go to the other dealer. I got in my car and left to go to the other dealer and thought my wife was right behind me. She called me on my cell a few minutes later to ask where I was... that he had come down in price... I said I had left and she should leave too. She said she couldn't because they still had the key to her car from appraising in for a trade in and would not give it to her when she asked for it. Chris was basically holding my wife hostage at the dealership and not allowing her to leave by keeping her key from her. Chris continued to lower the price... came all the way down to 26,500 with our trade in which was basically worthless... an american made suv in horrible condition, 9 years old with over 170,000 miles, bald tires, leaking oil, ac sounding funny transmission slipping etc.... Pretty big drop in price from 29,945 for someone who said that was as low as he could go! Then magically he says he can get the green vehicle for the same price from another dealer... and he admitted to my wife that he always could have gotten it but he just wanted to sell the black one that he had in stock. Hmmm another lie... Chris also said he could give us more for our trade because he had a potential buyer in Russia for our car and that the more miles the better... that since it had 170,000+ miles that was even better than 100,000 and he could get more for it. Now this sounds like something a kid on the playground would make up... not sure if this is a lie or not but with all the other lies... I will just say I find it very VERY difficult to swallow. Chris was very rude, aggressive, high pressured, and frankly acted like a bully and tried to intimidate us. Oh... he also said the vehicle we had looked at for the better price the day before at another dealer was probably already sold... which we knew it was not... He said the tires on my wifes car were not safe to drive... trying to scare her into trading it in right away and driving home the new car... We had just been to CT state inspection and tired were fine! Chris will say anything in anyway he thinks he can bully and intimidate someone into signing a purchase agreement and badgering them into buying a car from his dealership. I finally had to have my wife put him on the phone and threaten to call 911 to have the Hartford Police respond to his dealership for him to give my wife her key so she could leave with her 70 year old mother. THIS is how Chris treats prospective buyers... I am so glad we found out how this dealership REALLY treats it customers before spending a penny with them. I can not stress enough how HORRIBLE the experience with Chris at Lia Hyundai in Hartford was and cannot warn you enough to stay away... Every other Hyundai dealer within an hours drive of Hartford treated us professionally and understood we were shopping around for the best possible price. Everyone knew if we got a lower price somewhere else we would return to every dealer and give them an opportunity to meet or beat the lowest price. Once we worked down to the lowest price - the deciding factors would be who treated us the best and geography. The Lia Hyundai in Hartford actually had the geography part down... Unfortunately the customer service even before the sale was to say the least a nightmare. NEVER Waste your time at Lia... if you are smart that is....

I found a used car online for a great price at this dealership. I emailed them for their internet price and got a prompt reply and later a phone call from Chris the manager. He was upfront and I didn't feel like there was any pressure to buy. After talking with him I realized the car had a 5 speed (and thus the reason for the great price as compared with all the other cars advertised) and I told him that wouldn't work for me. He thanked me for my interest in their dealership and I thought that was the end of it. About an hour later Chris called me back to tell me he checked the car and it was indeed an automatic. I expected the "and oh by the way, the price I quoted was wrong", but I got none of that. The price was as quoted. I got there the next day to check out the car and it was exactly as described, no bs, no bait and switch. I drove the car and liked it (except it didn't have any floor mats!!), but wanted my wife to see it since it would be her car. They wanted me to put a deposit down on my CC, but I told Chris of a prior bad experience with another dealer and that I would take my chances in the event they sold it before I came back. He then proceeded to tell me they would hold the car for me for a couple of days until I could return with my wife (with no money down). I figured, yea right, the car will be gone this weekend. Monday came and I called and the car was still being held. I went in with my wife and ended up buying the car for the agreed upon price. Again, no bs. They tried the typical up sell of the extended warranty, but I declined. No problem, no hard sell. The paperwork had a few issues, so pay attention to the details and check their numbers when before you sign. Nothing major, just a few clerical errors. If it wasn't for those errors I would have rated the quality higher. But it gets better. They called me back a few hours after I left with the car to tell me they found a set of floor mats that were supposed go with the car that were accidentally left out when they cleaned it. Bottom line is that they did what they said they would do and stuck to their word. It's tough to find those simple honest qualities in a dealership now-a-days. All in all it was a good experience.

2008 Hyundai SonataI purchased a used 2008 Hyundai Sonata with about 7,500 miles from Lia Hyundai of Hartford, CT. I had the following experience:1. I received a price from the manager that was acceptable and stated I wanted to think it over and would come back the following day. I did come back and a different manager was assisting the salesman and quoted a price $ 400. more than the day before. The salesman stated he was in agreement with me and a half hour later the manager finally agreed on the original price. 2. We picked the car up later in the day after the car was serviced and made ready for delivery. Only one set of keys was delivered to us when originally there were two sets. We were told the keys we saw were probably for a different car. How could that be, we only looked at the one car. We were told only included are the keys that came with the car when the car came into the dealership. Additional keys came with a charge of $ 100. each.3. When we took the Sonata for a test drive, the Sonata four floor mats were in the trunk. When we took delivery of the car, the floor Mats installed in the car were embroidered Elantra. We requested the original Sonata embroidered floor mats and were told only included are the floor mats that came with the car when the car came into the dealership. They gave us the Elantra floor mats4. The Sonata was to be cleaned and serviced prior to delivery. Car was not vacuumed and spill stains were still cup holders. Also:a/ . Mileage on windshield sticker indicated oil had been changed and stated next oil change at about 10,800 miles. The mileage listed on the windshield sticker for the next oil change was about 3,000 miles more than what was on the odometer. I checked the oil stick after I took the car home and the oil on he stick was very dirty. I had the oil changed the next day at a local service station. b/ After the oil change I drove the car for about 1.200 miles. I checked the oil color on the oil stick and it was much cleaner than when I checked the oil after the car was delivered to me be dealer. c/ Car was used by a smoker. Dealer covered up the smoke odor with a spray and the smoke odor was not noticeable during the test drive nor the pick up. But within a few days after delivery it certainly was noticeable. d/ Windshield spray reservoir was empty. e/ We did get two remote control devices with the car keys after a very long discussion. The remote controls work for the car doors but not for the trunk. f/ The plastic light covers for the bottom corners of the driver and passenger doors were missing. When we asked for replacements we were told only included is the equipment that came with the car when the car came to the dealership. We took delivery with no light covers.Reason for review: to alert other buyers of their bad business practice.
