I've been trusting my car care to Pape since we moved to Portland in 1991. They have always been courteous and efficient, and I really like the fact that I have been working with the same folks for many years. Low employee turnover speaks highly of the company and reinforces my belief that I have made a good choice in dealerships. Scot Curit (Sales) and Kris Brady (Service) both deserve special recognition for their part in making me a very happy customer.

Best Dealership around (service and sales).Bought a new Silverado last year, they made it possibly financially, best deals around! I have put over 20k miles on the truck and they've handled all of my service needs quickly and without a dollar out of pocket. I've established a relationship with Pape Chevrolet that I know will last a life time. Great people!

To anyone who would even consider taking their business to Pape Chevrolet, I cannot say strongly enough how much you should reconsider.In the two years we have been going there, they recommended the same tie rod end be replaced within ten months of each other, and just recently, they charged us several hundred dollars to replace pads and machine rotors (they originally wanted to replace the rotors completely), only to find out that the front pads weren't even worn and they were doing the work to "chase a brake pulsation" which we had not complained about nor was it ever presented as the reason for the work. When my wife complained about the brake job, a service rep said there was nothing they could do without seeing the pads (we provided our own from Auto Zone). After retrieving the pads, I was told the service manager would get back to me Monday. At 2:30 on Monday, we hadn't heard anything, so we made another trip to Pape to talk to the Service Manager in person. We were told he was out and wouldn't be back until Tuesday (no one bothered to tell us of course, knowing full well we were waiting to hear from him). I was assured that I would get a call first thing Tuesday morning. After calling them at 10:00, I was told he was in a meeting. He finally called back at noon. For the next half hour, the service manager repeatedly jumped in as I was trying to explain my concerns, literally talking over me for several seconds until he stopped to listen. Rather than make a gesture of apology of any kind for any of the past issues, including this one, he continued to talk over me and explain why this was my fault. I said that I wondered how interested he was in keeping this customer, at which point he said he was "tired of playing this game" of who's talking over who and said I was never pressured into buying anything. I told him I was on the phone with the service rep for half an hour talking about ways to keep the costs down and that at no time was I ever told that the pads and machining was in any way unrelated to our original complaint. I said I had to rely on their judgement when they tell me the pads are in need of replacement (I'm not going to drive down there to verify their work). He said given the length of this conversation, he wasn't surprised I was on the phone with the service rep for a half hour (implying, once again, that this was my doing). He said that the issue we complained about was fixed, so they stand by their work, (they could have replaced the radiator and it would still be "fixed" for all we know). He finally asked what I wanted. I said I wanted the labor for the front brakes refunded (ignoring the necessity of having the rotors done as well). He agreed, but tried to fault me for not just saying that up front (I'm not sure why he couldn't have just made the offer if it was so easy to agree to). As we were talking about the payment, he made several passive aggressive comments about my way of handling the situation and made several indications he was about to end the call. I asked him if he was hanging up on me, to which he responded, "No, I'm just done listening." He then disconnected the call.We will be happily taking our business elsewhere from now on.

How do you like a dealership ( Pape Chevrolet ) that you have bought six new $30.000 = 40.000 cars from in the past tell you your service call for a repair was covered. Not once but three times we asked before the appointment and a phone message on 02/17/2015. Today my wife gets a call it's all apart and its $300.00 to fix you want it done. My wife tells them you said it was covered and he tells her well you didn't ask me.

I recently visited Pape to look at trading my Tahoe SUV in toward a used pickup truck. The experience was wonderful! No pressure, no sales gimmicks, just honest values and answers. Brian and Bill spent the time educating me on the process of trading and buying. I would highly recommend Pape Chevrolet.

Do not go here. I complained about something and was denied service and asked to leave. It was the worst customer service I have ever experienced for any type of service.

Everyone in Pape is friendly and helpful. When i go there, I actually enjoy being there! They are unbelieveable, helping with every aspect of car buying, as well as repairs etc etc. I will never buy a car from any other dealership, because I trust them here.

We had heater and Cluster panel recalls from Chevy and they took car of them in record time. Only took an hour and a half to fix both issues and received the replacement parts within 2 days. Quite impressive. We also purchased our last used truck from the dealership and sold it after 13 years. Great used vehicles as well as new vehicles to choose from at a great price. If you enjoy being ripped off and ignored you will love this dealer. I usually get kissed first. Bought our Malibu Maxx here a couple years ago Charged me $600 for a set of tires you can buy at Manny , moe , and Jack for $100. Told me that to fix a trunk opener it would be a 4 hour job, if it was just wiring it would be $250 if it was more we would be looking at $650! Ouch! This was after we scheduled a service appt at least 6 days out. We dropped the car off at 7 AM and told the service person that we had to have the car at the end of the day, 4 PM. Called to follow up at 3:30 and they hadn't even looked at it yet. Picked it up without any work being performed but only their estimate of 250 - 600 to fix the trunk opener. No apologizes, I'm sorry , Nothing!!! I took it home and wow, it was a 25 cent fuse!!!! Keep clear of this dealer they will RIP YOU OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
