I went to Shaver knowing exactly what vehicle I wanted and how much I would pay for it (this after extensive research and seeing what the vehicle I wanted sold for elsewhere in the local market). I did not know if they would have the exact vehicle I wanted in stock but, surprisingly, they did. It was equipped exactly as I wanted with no additional options. I made an offer before I drove it but the salesman said they could not submit an offer without the car having been driven. So I drove it; it was great...as expected. My offer was fair based on local information (but less than suggested by KBB). The "closer" tried to negotiate but I held my ground and, in the end, bought the car. I'm sure they would have liked to sell me more services but they were not pushy. I'd buy from them again!

Chris and Andy Shaver run a top notch dealership! I have done business with them for the past 20 years, and I have purchased 2 cars from them in the past two years. First was a used Solstice and last week a dealer demo 300s. Process was quick and painless even though they were very busy and it was late at night.

Buying a used car is always a tough decision, but the guys at Shaver really made it a "no-brainer." Robert and the sales manager Mike were honest, responsive and fair. They took care of everything that they were promised and when a couple other minor issues popped up in subsequent days, they fixed the issues without question. The Service dept. at Shaver is top notch, these guys are very professional and accommodating. Thanks guys for taking such good care of us! I just had service and added performance parts to my Rubicon, the guys at the Parts dept. matched competitive prices to local 4x4 shop and got the job done quickly and professionally all on warranty, you can't beat that. Service dept. is always willing to help and do what is required. I have been going to Shaver for over 3 years now for service, parts and vehicle purchase. Thumbs up!

I have taken my Jeep to this Shaver Jeep location for service since 1999. They have taken excellent care of the car, recommending parts when needed and being reasonable quick. I would recommend establishing a service manager as your first point of contact, and sticking with that person, as this makes the process smoother.

I got a pretty good deal on my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee (so I think!! ;-). The sales manager, John, was pretty cool and made the negotiating fun and definitely worked with me. He wasn't the usual a-hole shmuck car salesman that I've dealt with in the past. I definitely recommend this dealer.

What do you think really happened??????? My car had almost 200,000 miles on it so I found one on carfinder, and emailed the dealer, Shaver Automotive. The salesman said the car needed a new radio and they would let me know when it was done. A few days later, I called again, and they said it needed to be smogged. A few days later, I called and they said it needed a radio and to be smogged. I asked them why it took a week to do those two things that should take two hours....they said they had to look it all over. I just asked him not to sell it to anyone else, and he laughed and said he wouldn't. The next week, they called and said they were still working on it. I had looked up the VIN number (at my expense) and no records. I was assured over and over that it was a good car. There were very low miles. I was really looking forward to the car. While I waited, I borrowed a friend's car. The salesman made no effort to have me come in. After two weeks, they said I could pick up the car the next day. He said it took so long because there were presales ahead of me. That was the first I heard of presales. I made an appointment for the afternoon because I play the church services in the mornings. Before I could get there, I get a call from the salesman that he was sorry, but the car was already sold. I told him I had been waiting two weeks for that car. I asked him why he didn't offer me a presale. He said that could have been a possibility. Made me wonder whether they ever even had that car, or what took them two weeks? Maybe they were taking out all the newer parts since there was low mileage, and putting in older parts. I don't know. We also told them we wanted to buy a truck from them, so if they had treated us right, we would have given them more business. At no time did they even offer me another car, or let me know what else they had for sale, want to talk to us about trucks. It was just, no, sorry, your car is sold.

I looked at the car I bought on line. The salesman came in on his day off. He was very pleasant. This was the best car buying experience I have had. The salesman manager was also very nice. Even though Shaver Dodge was 1 1/2 hour drive for me I would go back to them again.

Best customer service experience! I shopped all of the dealers in Thousand Oaks and I purchased my new car here mainly because of the service Lance provided! The Chevy dealer down the street provided the worst service I have ever experienced, while there trying to work out a deal Lance emailed me and pretty much had me sold when I returned to the Dodge dealer. His follow up was about 45 minutes after I left their dealer... that's service! The entire process was great, and they really took care of me!

Bought Fiat 500e at this dealer... sales staff is good however during the signing of final paperwork be sure to check hidden fees ( tire service fees, theft protection fees, ) will not recommend this dealership to all my friends.

John and Mike were wonderful in helping me and my partner. My partner recently had a massive stroke and my Explorer Sport 2 door car was no longer feasible to transport her anywhere. I couldn't get her in the car as it sat to high and was difficult to get the wheelchair into. John helped me with a used minivan and now we can go wherever we need to go. I was interested in a used vehicle. After negotiating and discussing details on the phone for almost a week, I was told it was a done deal. I took their word and drove 280 miles to pick up the car. When I got there, I inspected the car, they even let me test drive it. In fact, they took my trade-in vehicle for a test drive. They asked for the necessary documents to conclude the transaction. After all this, while I was waiting for the documents to be signed, I was told there was another customer offering more than I did. They pretended everything was OK as I was inspecting, test driving the car. DO NOT take their word on anything until you sign the papers. They don't mind USING you by letting you test-drive the car in front of the other customer to get him make a higher offer. After all this, I was offered a full tank of gas and lunch. So, you should go there with an empty gas tank and an empty stomach unless you have enough money to buy their honesty which is worth about $4000.

My experience while buying a vehicle from this dealership was a pleasant one. The entire staff was extremely courteous, as well as understanding. I had a great experience with Shaver Auto Group! My salesman, Andrew W. was fantastic, and helped me find the exact model I wanted. He worked with me through the whole process like a pro, and we got straight to the point and did our deal with no stress or worry. The experience followed through with the finance department, and Lorenzo L. I highly recommend this place... and will tell my friends. Brenton got my order together quickly, processed deposit paperwork efficiently, and had me on my way in about an hour! I had a great experience with Shaver. Timothy O'Hanlon got me into the car I wanted, for a great price, even better than I thought I would be able to get. I was out the door in my new car in less than 2 hours! Octavio Yanez helped me with the car I wanted to sell, he was truly amazing. We ran into a few hitches here and there, and he took care of EVERYTHING. He went above and beyond, and kept me in the loop and reassured until he got me exactly what I needed. Two weeks ago today, my daughter, son in law and myself went to Shaver Chrysler Jeep in Thousand Oaks, CA, after we had looked on line for a reasonable priced car and we saw a Sebring that was priced very well. My son in law was the only one that qualified for a loan. We told them his income and filled out the paper work and they said they had made a deal with him. We went into the financial office and he signed the paper work, where they didn even explain to us the amount financed. They didn point out that they had 10 days to find a bank to buy the contract. We walked out of the dealership with the car. My daughter and her husband took it around showing it off and were very proud of the car. Nine days later the company called to tell us they couldn get a bank to finance the car, explaining we would have to return the car. To me that was a poor way to do business, especially when they are suppose to know what they are doing they knew my son in laws income and when we came back with the car they explained he needed twice the income. Now don you think they should have known that before they let them think they could get it financed. Deceptive sales as I see it.

This dealership is dishonest and totally unapologetic. I had to drive a long distance (~450 miles) to buy a car they had, and once I was there they changed our sales agreement on me. Who does that?! I had no choice but to buy the car on their terms since I had to return home with the vehicle. I so desperately wanted to tell them to take the car and shove it!!!! You have been warned...Stay. Away.

This dealership purchased my son's used car. Tim Ott (Internet Sales Manager) dealt with my son via email, phone and in person over a period of about a week negotiating a deal and they ultimately reached an agreed price that was reasonable. I went with my son to the dealership for the actual transaction. Tim was very professional, straightforward and personable throughout. Tim came through with everything he had negotiated with my son before and had the final check available when he said he would. Other than an an unexpected and unavoidable delay doing the final paper work, the process was smooth and problem free.

Our internet salesman was great! We searched online, applied for financing online and were able to negotiate everything all over the phone! When everything was agreed upon we showed up signed or deal, completed financing and drove off! EXCELLENT experience! Andrew, couldn't have made this whole process and better! I highly recommend asking for Andrew when your ready! My only disappointment (if I'm being picky) is not one sales manager came to thank us for our business when we were finished... I know thats picky but I think it's important! otherwise LOVED the car, the payment & the salesman Andrew!

I was originally looking for a used dodge 2500 diesel but decided to click on the e price tab on a new one just for kicks....I was greeted with pricing, rebates and special financing options that made my payments almost the same as the used trucks. I did the credit application online and they even got me approved at my credit union! The best thing - was the guaranteed tradein offer from their web site, it got me what i wanted for my truck! The worst thing was the amount of paperwork still needed even for my own credit union...

Do not respond correctly to inquiries. Poor customer service. Disorganized. Don't understand the vehicles they are selling. Has to be one of the poorer least appealing car dealerships around. My biggest surprise is that they actually manage to sell cars at all! my advice, non't waste your time!
