Timing chain tensioner failed at 73k miles on a 2012 CC, causing major engine damage. Tom Wood initially tried to charge $115 for a diagnostic when nothing was done but trying to start it and put a scope down in the valve cover. From that they estimated $7,000! They never even pulled the Technical Service Bulletin. Found out VW has had problems with defective tensioner causing premature timing chain failure. Maintenance book shows check and replace timing 'belt' if needed at 60k, this vehicle has a timing 'chain' not timing belt. A Class action lawsuit is currently in the works for the tensioner, which has been known by VW since the 1999 Passat. Asked TW for assistance to get VW to stand behind their product and cover the repairs, their response was 'no', only giving me a number to call. They also denied any knowledge of problems with timing chain tensioner. However the service writer immediately suggested it was probably a timing chain problem. I spoke with multiple mechanics who all were surprised a timing chain would fail at that low of mileage. According to an independent mechanic, who I gave a copy of parts list to, indicated their 'worst case scenario' estimate was padded with new items not damaged or needed, and also indicated it wasn't complete with other items they would have charged for making their 'worst case scenario', actually their 'best case scenario'. I will never step foot in any Tom Wood again! If you need a VW dealer, make the drive to Falcone.

I purchased a car with Anya and found the process very easy and pleasant which is why I didn't make the overall a single star. This review is not a reflection of the sales process. The car is a quality used car however after its first washing a large area of clear coat peeled off the front bumper that requires the entire bumper being removed and repainted. I immediately notified Anya about this and she referred me on to the manager Allen for further direction. Unfortunately, this started with a referral to have a warranty claim submitted to Audi with no response from them almost three months later. Long story short, there was no offer by Tom Wood Volkswagen to provide a solution other than paying for it which is very sad considering this happened within the first month of owning it. This is one example of why dealerships get a bad name when they don't take care of their customers when their is a definite flaw in their product.

Make sure you get any thing they say in writing:I delt with Tom Wood as my "preferred" dealership in the area to receive my TDI Customer Goodwill Package. This package had been provided by Volkswagen to lessen the blow to TDI owners affected by the scandal. It included one $500 gift card to use anywhere cards are excepted, and a second $500 card to use at any volkswagen dealership. I want to make clear I am grateful to Volkswagen Corporation for all they have done for me to try to make things right.With that said, at Tom Wood I delt with Julie Kearney. She explained that I only had less than a year until the cards expired. She told me that they thought that was a short period of time to use the card in some cases and that Tom Wood would issue me a Credit to their dealership if I wanted to convert it before the 12/16 expiration. Today I called Tom Wood and Julie is no longer there. The woman who claims to now be in charge of the program said she was not aware of this. She put me on hold and asked around. When she came back to sge explained that it was offered but it was the last general managers idea and that they now have a new General Manager and he's "great". She would have to check with him. She soon came back and said that he/they would not honor those commitments because "if they offer it to me then they would have to offer it to everyone that asked about it." Here my issue with this: I did not originally solicit this service. As a company you are acknowledging that you made claims to customers but, because there is a leadership change you will not honor those agreements even though I am within the time line provided by a Tom Wood representative (at the time). On top of that, I know I'm not the first to ask to convert it to credit so they opened themselves up to liability long ago. Furthermore, if Tom Wood is cashing in my credit right now they get the money on the card... so how is issuing me a credit that is only good at Tom Wood in the future a bad business move for them? Seems a little silly to me. In a time when they should be building TRUST they are closing doors. I'll be using the credit elsewhere now, and when it comes time to trade my TDI in, I'll be purchasing my new car elsewhere as well. Seems like a good business model to me.

I found the used car of my dreams and contacted Tom Wood Volkswagen and was put in touch with Kenny Scott.We negotiated the price via phone and internet with several scenarios ( trade,no trade,etc.)We put a credit card deposit to hold the car and when we arrived after several delays due to my business,Kenny was still there to deliver the vehicle and his wife was getting very close to delivering their first child! He was very pleasant ,knowledgeable and professional.The car was even better than described. He even pointed out a teeny weeny dent, almost invisible,as he could tell I was a gearhead and would notice it latter. Every one at the dealership was extremely helpful when I had to return moments latter with a service message at closing time. The service manager resolved the problem to my satisfaction even though it was not a Volkswagen ,his area of expertise. I can not say enough good things about Kenny and Tom Wood Volkswagen.John Hill,satisfied customer.

Terrible service department. Will do nothing promised, provide nonsense advise and pass the problem as far down the line as they can get it to avoid addressing the real issue. Ends up being a giant waste of your time and mental space. Was told to literally stick my fingers down between the rubber and glass of a window to try and fix a problem they tried to say was caused by dirt. Well here's the thing: 1 they say they clean the cars so how is that possible. 2 owned the car about a month. 3 How can a human even get a finger down there. 4 Even figuring out a way to achieve what they recommended DID NOT fix the problem. Why you ask? Because anyone with common sense would no that wouldn't fix the issues after listening to the signs and symptoms.

Tom Wood Volkswagen offered shuttle service while my car was being serviced. The shuttle driver, Gene Horne, found me at the dealership and transported me to my home for lunch roughly 10 miles from the dealership. He promised to return to my home to get me when the repairs were completed. He did as promised, drove responsibly and efficiently. I have shuttled before from the dealership to downtown business area but never in midday on an impromptu basis. The shuttle service and Gene made this experience less taxing.

Gary Waldron was very helpful in my decision to buy a certified pre-owned 2013 Beetle Convertible. I am new to the VW family and Gary was very helpful and knowledgeable in answering all of my questions. While looking at the car on the lot Gary noticed one of the headlights was not properly set and he brought it to my attention and had it fixed. Being a pre-owned car there were some other small cosmetic items that needed attention and Gary and the rest of the Tom Wood Staff were very quick to fix the items. The car has 24,600 miles on it but it is very clean and I feel like I am driving a brand new 2016 Beetle but I saved the depreciation that all new cars experience in the first couple years of being on the road. I am looking forward to stopping into the dealership for a free car wash every so often and saying hi to Gary. Thanks Gary for making my car buying experience an enjoyable one!

You must visit Tom Wood on 96th st. and ask for James Kenjorski for the ULTIMATE BUYING EXPERIENCE! We just bought our son his 1st car and "JK" went ABOVE AND BEYOND to: 1. Find the exact VW that we wanted and delivered to dealership for us in just three days. 2. Help us surprise our son 3. Help me understand the "ins and outs' of the new VW, since the VW has changed since owning MY 1ST CAR (VW BEETLE) in my high school years. 4. Set up time to bring my son and his VW in, to understand ALL THE BENEFITS of owning a VW and purchasing from Tom Wood on 96th St. 5. Follow up with us to ensure that we were happy with our decision of purchasing a VW and if there was anything else he could do. I have been a loyal customer of Tom Wood Volkswagen for 10 years. I routinely have both of my VWs serviced by them. I have done this because of the excellent work that they do and how well they communicate with me regarding any issues that my cars are experiencing. What puts the icing on the cake, however is Gene, who works for the service department. My office is about a mile away from the dealer and having Gene available, to shuttle me from the dealer to work or vice versa is extremely convenient. Gene is much more than an employee of the dealer, he is an ambassador for his employer and his personable and always friendly attitude make me come back to Tom Wood for any issues my cars will experience. Gene is a true asset to the company!

Service is my subject and one person in particular...My appointments have been met promptly and whatever was needed, done in a timely fashion...Whether routine maintenance, repairs or recall....The facility is very clean and the waiting area is comfortable and pleasant...And there is one man who seems to be everywhere and as friendly and helpful as can be...His name is Damon and I can't help but wonder if he ever has a bad day...If so, I have never seen it...A special thanks to Damon for always being helpful or just there...It makes me feel that I have a friend, in high places, if needed... Yes, they told me what I came in for was fixed and then gave me a list of more things to do, but the best part, and the real reason for me writing this, is the customer service from Gene the shuttle driver. He was a joy. He was cordial and got me home and then called when he was on his way to collect me later. This was the best part of my visit to your dealership and service department. Called to schedule a service for my Jetta and had prompt assistance. Bryan answered and gathered all the information and actually got me in the same day and helped inform me about the shuttle service. Then I arrived and was helped by Jack Harrell and he went through exactly what I needed and the cost upfront for the service (including tax), then arranged for the shuttle to take me to work. Following a string of really terrible luck (first my own car was rear-ended & then my rental car was stolen while my claim was being processed), I'd been carless for the better part of 2 weeks. Upon hearing my settlement check was ready for pick up, I called VW to see if they might come pick me up and bring me to the lot to shop. I talked w/ Anya Bass, who'd sold me my previous VW in 2006 & she sent a shuttle for me right away. She also had info and keys waiting for me for all of the cars I'd expressed interest in on the phone...and one I hadn't, which ended up being my perfect car! Anya got me a great deal on the car--even lower than I'd expected once it hit financing, & I was able to go home in my new ride that afternoon. Also, a special shout out to my awesome shuttle driver, Gene Horne, who not only picked me up from home to bring me to the dealership but also took me to get my insurance settlement check, drove me by my bank and waited while I got a cashier's check and took me back to get my car--and made interesting conversation with me the whole time. It's not everyone who can make you feel so comfortable riding around with a stranger! I'll be back for maintenance...AND my free carwashes :)

I leased from Tom Wood VW in 2009 and again in 2013 where I got a 2013 VW CC. The vehicle had mechanical issues failing to start in cold weather. I asked them to look at this problem back in 2014 but they did not find/resolve the problem and it got much worse this last winter. As well as problems starting, I had no heat in the car. Tom Wood VW had the car for almost 2 weeks in January and almost 2 weeks in Feb this year - during these times I was without a vehicle except for a 3 day period where I was able to get a loan car out of them. At least they were able to give me a ride home after dropping off the car with them and back to pick it up. Alot of inconvenience. They never resolved the issue of starting the car in cold weather. During this time, an item disappeared from my car during it's time at Tom Wood VW. They said they would replace it, but I'm still waiting. When trying to contact the service desk or individual in the service department, the phone system often transfers you to Tom Wood Subaru. Very frustrating... and even when you do get through and leave a voice mail they seldom call back and you have to chase them constantly. The lady I arranged my lease through at Tom Wood VW sent me a text back in April and we had arranged a call. I never heard anything from Tom Wood VW after that and never got that call. I guess they were not that interested in any further business. I love driving the CC - except for the unreliability factor - and would have gone for another one were Tom Wood VW interested in dealing with their customer service issues. Fast forward to today and as an unhappy and unimpressed customer I have voted with my feet, turned in my VW CC and am no longer a customer of Tom Wood VW. VW has reduced the carefree maintenance down to 1 year on the CC due to improved reliability and quality from the 3 years carefree maintenance with the 2013 CC. So you get an increased cost of ownership for a less reliable vehicle which is, frankly from my experience, not backed up with anywhere near the level of customer service it should be. In summary, I cannot recommend Tom Wood VW to anyone. I have found them unreliable, lacking credibility as they do not do what they say they are going to do, they failed to resolve the mechanical issues with the car after serveral attempts, communication is poor and they ultimately failed to live up to their own customer service expections that they say you will get as a customer. I do not feel I got good value from Tom Wood VW.

James was very helpful in the whole process of finding me a Golf I wanted. Manuals seem to be few and far between, he let me drive the sportwagen as it is built on the same platform and they did not have any manual Golfs in stock. Within a week he let me know they had received one (1,600 miles used) and would I like to drive it? I got over there before it even had been cleaned or checked and three days later (for a great price) was able to drive away with my car. I especially appreciated the "cafe" while negotiating I got to have fruit (not donuts and junky carbs) from the service snack bar to give me a little fuel (apples, bananas, and oranges). The service I received when I picked up my car was great. James walked me around to make sure I got additional goodies I wanted (from parts dept), walked me to detailing to set up some extras on my car and even recommended a product for the leatherette seats. Purchasing the car from James and Tom Wood was an easy and enjoyable experience and I will definitely recommend the salesman and dealer.

I recently leased a new Passat from Tom Wood Volkswagen and couldn't be more pleased with the car and the process. I sent an inquiry on the Passat I was interested in and within a day, Stephan contacted me. He provided information on all the current incentives, the invoice price and the monthly payment for the SE and the SEL. Based on that, I went to the dealership the next day. After a brief wait, Stephan met us. We talked for a few minutes to make sure he had all the information he needed and we headed out to the cars. He explained the differences between the SE and SEL and suggested I test drive the one I preferred. There was NO pressure to go with one or the other, which I really appreciated. We went back to the office to go over the details of the lease. Stephan was quick, thorough and explained everything along the way. He answered every question I had. Before I knew it, I was leaving with the Passat I went to get at the price I wanted. This is my second VW from Tom Wood and my third car from Tom Wood overall and I will definitely head that way when my lease is up.

I called and spoke to Greg Suskovich to inquire about a used 2013 VW CC I had found on cars.com. We set up a time for me to stop by for a test drive the next day. Greg met me at the door, and a short time later we were taking the car for a spin. Greg made it clear that he would do everything he could to make the purchase work for me, but I never felt overly pressured. I also appreciated that he didn't try to upsell to a more expensive vehicle. He was very patient as I contemplated my decision, which took about 48 hours. Ultimately I decided to purchase the vehicle from Greg after a little negotiation. It wasn't a rock-bottom price, but I believe it was a fair deal. In the end, it was worth it to me to purchase locally from the same dealer that will be servicing my car for years to come.

He was very adamant about figuring out what I was looking for and then providing options that I might like. He was not pushy and showed me the facts of the car I was interested in purchasing. Found a used car that we thought we wanted and called to set an appointment. We were put in touch with Greg to schedule a test drive. Greg had the car ready when we arrived. We were not really impressed with the way the car drove and it looked a little "rough". Greg informed us the car had just come in and had not been inspected nor cleaned up yet. He understood and agreed with our assessment of this car. He offered that he had another like car that had recently come in that had been inspected and cleaned up. They offered it as a certified used car. Without any pressure he asked if we wanted to see it and we said that we did. We took a test drive and loved the way it handled and looked and were interested if the numbers worked. Greg's attitude was we will do whatever we can to make you happy. We bought the car and traded ours for it. We got a fair deal and feel good great about the experience and the good people we dealt with at Tom Wood.

We had great service! My husband was in an accident over the weekend so we had one day to find a new car as both of our jobs requiring lots of traveling. He went to Tom Wood dealership that morning and was approached by salesman Greg Suskovich. Mr. Suskovich worked well with him through out the day. Later after I was able to get off of work I went to the dealership and got the same service. I was able to take the car out for a drive after my husband had already done so that morning. Greg gave us a tour of the facility which is one of the nicest facilities we have ever stepped foot in. Greg showed us in great detail what all the facility offers as far as servicing your car and you. The facility really goes above and beyond to make sure your experience is remembered. They worked with on our offer and got the ball rolling as soon as we showed interest. Several different team members came and introduced themselves to ensure we knew who to reach out to if Greg was out of the office occasionally. Once we bought the car Greg went out the car with us and made sure we knew how to work all the buttons/controls. He was super helpful and kind. If you are looking for a dealership that makes the experience personal and worth the trip, Tom Wood Dealership is definitely the way to go!! In a few years we will be needing to replace our other car and we will most definitely going back to Greg!

I brought our 2011 VW Jetta Sportwagen TDI to Tom Wood to have rim damage repaired. My initial contact was with Brian McNamee who did a great job of explaining the repairs and how long they would take. He explained that the dealership would follow up with the warranty provider to determine if the repair was covered at no charge. My next contact was with Gene Horne who operates the customer courtesy shuttle for Tom Wood. Gene was very pleasant to deal with. He had a full load of customers on this day and spent some time getting his drop-off schedule organized so that none of the customers had to wait too long to reach their destinations. Once we left the dealership, he made sure everyone was comfortable and proceeded to get all of us dropped off in a timely manner. Gene always makes the courtesy van ride enjoyable. My last contact was with Chris Shoemaker who coordinated the rim repair in the onsite detail shop. Chris contacted me to let me know that he received the service order from Brian McNamee and provided a timeline for the repair. When the repair was complete, Chris called with an update and let me know the car was ready to be picked up at my convenience. Straightened rims at no cost, washed car, great all around 'no hassle" service experience completed in less than one day. Thanks.

Me and my father went to look for a use car for me to drive since my old car broke down (Mind you this was my first time buying my own car at a dealership). Found the car I was interested to buy on cars.com. Went up there to check out the car. The car was still available and so I did a test drive but couldn't take the car back home with me because I wasn't ready to pay yet. So over the last few days before buying the car, I had to negotiate with the sales person over via text message on the phone to give me an reasonable price for me to be able to afford the car. So they did and lower the price of the vehicle. Went back, did a lot of signings on papers and got the keys! As a first time buyer for my second vehicle, it wasn't so bad. The facility was clean inside, the sale person was a nice person to work with, and negotiating helps too if you really want to get the car you want.

I am really not one to write reviews, but I received such great customer service here that I had to stop by and give credit where credit is due. I live out of state and came to visit a friend who lives in Indiana. I had a flat tire and took my car to Tom Woods Volkswagen. I was a little frustrated and hesitant because, looking at how nice and fancy this place was, I thought it would cost me an arm and a leg just to fix my flat. Boy, was I wrong. The pricing was very great compared to other places I've been, and that was a huge burden lifted off of my shoulders. Also, you could really tell that the service tech that helped me, Derrick Thames, really loves what he does. He had the best attitude and made sure my car was ready to go quickly. It's not every day that you find someone that is so clearly in love with their job. Very refreshing.

I had a wonderful experience with Bruce when I bought a car. He was very friendly and knowledgeable about everything. He made sure I was comfortable in my decision and didn't pressure me to make any fast decisions. All of the other salesman there were also just as friendly and made sure I was taken care of. They worked very well with me in trading in my old car for my new one and I didn't feel as though I was being ripped off. I also had a great experience with the service department. While shopping online for a new VW Beetle I found the one for me at Tom Wood Volkswagon. I chatted online and on the phone with a very pleasant and knowledgeable young lady, Hazel. She was very helpful and made me an appointment to see the car and salesman, Matthew Kennedy the next day. While we were on our journey I received a call from Matt introducing himself and saying he would be waiting for us. After a 265 mile, 5 hour drive we arrived at Tom Wood Volkswagon. We were greeted by very friendly staff who seemed to know who we were and expecting us. I asked to meet Hazel, so I could personally THANK her for her help and professionalism. When then met Matthew Kennedy. We discussed the car, Matt was very knowledgeable about this specific car gave us all the information we wanted or needed. Then came the all important test drive. Having driven a Beetle for the last 8 years I am aware how great these cars handle, however. Matt gave me a very informational tutorial of all the options in the new Beetle. Once back at the Tom Wood Volkswagon we talked deal, there was no pressure, it was facts and figures. We felt Matt was giving us the best deal possible and the sale was made. Matt Kennedy was personable, professional, and got the job done. I will recommend Matt and Tom Wood Volkswagon to anyone and should I ever need another vehicle Matt will be the first person I check with. When I first went in to the dealership to purchase a vehicle, I was greeted with a smile. The salesman was very friendly and welcoming. Bu when we got down to the info, his paperwork was outdated and he was completely unaware that the vehicle I was interested in had already been sold. He talked up the service and repair shop over and over again, which is what sold me on purchasing a vehicle from them. However, I've had nothing but problems with this area. I've had the car for one month and have had it in the shop 5 times to get something fixed. I was charged for services that were owed to me, told problems were not covered under the warranty, and the company has tried to take advantage of a young woman. As I am about to take the car in for the 6th time, to fix something that they told me was fixed, I feel the need to tell people that this dealership has not been anything that they promised, and I will not be purchasing anything from them ever again.

Several years ago we purchased a cpo beetle from Tom wood vw. When we bought the car they showed us a clean car fax. Now we are looking to sell the car because it has been very problematic. For my own peace of mind I had the car inspected by several mechanics and all came to the same conclusion: the car had been hit hard enough from behind to bend the frame. Upset that something this serious passed through a car fax check I ran my own car fax check to find out. Lo and behold it had been in an accident before we bought it. When comparing my car fax to the one that Tom wood gave us it was clear that the report had been altered to show that there had been no accidents. They also can't claim ignorance because the car was crashed two days before Tom wood out the car up for sale. This is all on top of an overall poor service experience with them. In closing if you enjoy being lied to and getting stuck with a lemon car by all means go to tom wood, otherwise take your vw needs to Falcone.

The customer service I received at Tom Wood Volkswagen was the main determining factor of why I decided to buy my car at this dealership. This was my first time buying a car, and I was extremely vulnerable and essentially knew nothing about the process. A salesman could have immediately taken advantage of my naivety, but this was not the case at Tom Wood Volkswagen. My boyfriend and I showed up on the lot in search of a used Jetta. This has been my dream car since before I could even drive, and I was set on it being my first car now that I'm out of college and beginning my career. It was time to graduate from my jalopy high school car to a grownup car to go along with my grownup job. We were browsing for maybe 5 minutes when Stephan approached us on the lot. We were instantly impressed by his genuine, kind manner, and his overwhelming expertise on Volkswagen in general. He told us virtually anything we would ever need to know about the Jettas we were looking at, and the company itself. His track record with VW was also very reassuring. We test drove a car, then headed into his office to talk specifics. Once we sat down, Stephan asked if I had the intentions of walking out with a new car that evening. I was honest, and told him that no, I wasn't quite ready. I was still pretty early in my search, and I wanted to explore my options. He didn't pressure me, and was honest and helpful about the whole situation. He didn't try to run my credit (he said that multiple credit checks can hurt your overall credit), and he didn't write my name down on a folder next to the word: "BUYER" like the salesman we dealt with at another VW dealer did the first day we stepped into the office. He applied zero pressure to the situation. We left with his card and the satisfaction that we had someone knowledgeable and honest to work with. I called Stephan a few days later to ask a couple of questions about the car and the buying process. I was pleasantly surprised when he suggested I save my money rather than putting any down for a down payment, thinking of my other bills and upcoming student loans. The fact that he considered my situation when advising me rather than just trying to take my money was refreshing. We decided that no matter what, we wanted to purchase a car from this Volkswagen dealership, and Stephan in particular. When it came time to make a decision, I was terrified of signing my name. This is the biggest purchase I've made thus far in my life, and any kind of pressure would have completely dismantled me. Stephan was patient with me, and allowed me to take the car home overnight to ensure it would not be purchased by anyone else while I thought over my decision. I know that in some ways it was a bit of a sales ploy, but I know he also genuinely wanted me to feel comfortable about my decision. The facility is great, and I am very confident that I will receive stellar service when I need to bring in my Jetta for any maintenance or repairs. Tom Wood VW seems to be one of the highest priced VW dealerships in the Midwest with at least one salesman who doesn't know much about customer service. After being told I was "looking out of my price range" after spending an entire Saturday attempting to trade in my VW for another used VW, I left Tom Wood knowing I'd never purchase a vehicle from them and won't recommend them to anyone. Needless to say, it is not the salesman's job to decide what is a customer's price range. So, after my wasted day at Tom Wood, I searched around and found the same exact VW BRAND NEW for $4,000 less and "in my price range".

I am pleased with the knowledge and information that I received from the staff at Tom Wood. I thoroughly researched the vehicle we intended to purchase and narrowed search to 3 dealers. Then we left final decision to sight, knowledge and service. The staff at Tom Wood gave me information on purchasing a used Volkswagen, specific questions to ask to compare the completion. I spoke with sales and management at Tom Wood. I was informed of the inspection process of used vehicles and the updates made on the vehicle. Two things that Tom Wood mentioned that makes us regret not making out purchase there: they update to next service before purchase- so oil changed, fluids changed any necessary maintenance complete. 2.) priced perfect to completion. I was completely convinced that the 2010 Volkswagen jetta sportwagen would be perfect. The only reason we didn't not purchase is we wanted the sunroof. I know that vehicle wood be in perfect condition coming from a Volkswagen dealer even though it was used. I am convinced, provided specific details of how they handle vehicles to sell, inspection, repair, update, guarantee, match price. Everything someone in the market for a used car could ask for!

We leased a vehicle from Tom Wood VW a few years ago. We were told at that time "No problem turning the vehicle in early if you want to get another VW, VW's hold there value and they love to keep customers". Well two weeks ago we returned to swap our lease 8 months early because of life changes - we just wanted the exact same car, with more options, and to renew our lease. The same Sales Manager "Dave" attempted to help us again, played the "I'm your friend" card again and again. My favorite line was "Let me dispel some rumors, the numbers someone else told you they would give you for your car are a lie, and not possible. When your ready to purchase a car, I'm here to help, but what you want isn't possible." Well, Dave, was a disrespectful/insulting (the offers presented to us I considered insulting of my intelligence) GM as well as full of himself. 1 hour after walking out I located the exact car (features and color) myself two hours away in Ohio. After a few phone calls we were on our way to Ohio to get the exact car under the exact terms we wanted - the car that Dave said "No one can do that for you, I'm already giving you a net deal." Sadly our sales man was wonderful and I wish we could have bought from him - however they are limited to what they can do by the Sales Managers and in this case, Dave lost a sale for a great sales guy, as well as lost a Customer for life, and caused this review to be written. I would recommend anyone looking to purchase a VW look to the east just inside Ohio for a VW dealership!

I went into Tom Wood Volkswagen to look for a new vehicle. I have been shopping around and after a disastrous meeting with another dealership I was a little leery of going anywhere else. What a surprise Tom Wood ended up being! I was greeted by people that genuinely cared and were happy that I would give them a try. I took a few cars for a test drive and even though I'm sure that Mike had other things to do he took the time to explain everything to me, every step of the way. I know that I will come to Tom Wood again and again, I am now a Volkswagen girl! Thank you Mike and everyone else that I met that day! I couldn't be happier.

Excellent, if I were to grade Stephen I would give hime an A+. Excellent service. Very pleasant, above and beyond, made sure we were not thirsty. Very personal. Love the attitude of him. Very warm. Product knowledge A+, also. Never hurried us, made sure we knew how to operate the EOS. Programed the Sirrus on stations we liked, and our IPhones. Made sure of everything before he left us. "My Friend" he made us feel like he was indeed our friend. I have shopped for a new car this year, Dugan Chevrolet in Danville drove a Camaro, the salesman did not know where the switch for the heated seats were. Drove a Veloster, Greenwood, on the lot at least 10 minutes before I was greeted, finally the manager came out and I told him that I was going to apply for a job because they had no sales people. He assured me and went to retrieve a sales man. I drove the Veloster . They did not have what I wanted and tried to sell me a car that I did not want. They even filled out a sales contract and tried to get me to sign. I thought they were trying to find the car for me. I left. Checked on a Fiat. Too small. He just let me look, offered no info on the car. My husband had to ask for a brochure. Stephan missed his calling he is not only a low pressure or no pressure sales person, but could he teach some people how to be a sales person. All the personnel were extremely knowledgeable.

My wife and I called about a used van they had and Tom Wood Volkswagen was very nice and helpful with our daily schedules to arrange a time to check the vehicle over. When we arrived they had the car setting up front for us and had a welcome sign posted in it for us. We dealt with Caleb who was very helpful with all our questions and concerns. He had the manager come meet us and introduced his self. They also gave us a tour of the buildings amenities. They have a great service area and while you wait they will give you a kindle fire tablet which is very helpful. We purchased the van, it was too good of a deal to pass up! They helped us get a GREAT warranty that met our monthly budget and a 24 month 24,000 mile service plan ( includes oil changes every 5k, tire rotation and balance ). We left out of there feeling like they truly were wanting to help us and not just trying to sell us a car and be done with it. They even called us up the next day to see how we were liking our new purchase and how our visit was. I will be telling all my family and friends about my experience. I've dealt with many car dealerships and never had as good as experience as at Tom Wood Volkswagen.

I purchased a 2003 Honda Element at this dealership and it was probably the best car-buying experience of my life. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable and there was no pressure whatsoever. I got a great deal on a car that is in nearly-new condition. I will definitely go right back here when I am in the market for a vehicle in the future. Tom Wood VW service dept has gone way downhill over the last few years. They are very poor communicators and I do not believe they honestly care about their customers. I feel horrible management must be behind it because they used to be decent, in my opinion, but that is not longer the case. I would not trust their word or trust them to properly service my automobile.

We purchased this Jetta at Tom Wood. I have used Tom Wood VW service before and had mixed results. I normally stay to wait on my car as I live out of town. Getting straight information is impossible. When I first got the Jetta in everything went well. When I would call into the service department, I actually spoke to a service advisor. Now when I call I speak to someone that says they are a service advisor, but when I ask questions about how long the repair may take, they always have to ask "the guys". Today I waited on the phone for 10 minutes just for the person in service to reboot their computer. Then found out that they had deleted me from their database. Did I mention I bought the car new at Tom Wood? After some more time waiting on the phone, the person found me in a backup database and seems to have added me back into their system.None of the database issues were necessary since I stated very clearly that I wanted to know when they first answered. "How much time will my specific maintenance/service normally take?" I was trying to plan my day around the maintenance. Total call time 15 minutes - just to find out how long it takes to service a DSG transmission. That call takes the cake - time to move on. (By the way, the person at Tom Wood VW reports that a standard DSG transmission service - oil and filter - should be at least 2 to 3 hours.)

12/21/2012- Tom Wood is a big joke! To start our the service department is filled with a bunch of nim wits. I called to schedule a recall appt. and was told to bring my car in and it would be an all day job. I dropped the car off and was told they did not have any loner cars, so I had to us Enterprise and they would pay for it. That was wierd as I was the third person in the dealership that morning??? I waited and enterprise came to pick me up! I was then called by Tom Wood saying they did not have the part and I would have to bring the car back in again. Well you would think when they made the appt. and I gave them the VIN off the car they would have known at that time they did not have the part. After returning the rental car to them I got a letter in the mail about 5 days later from Enterprise stating I had done $1000 dollars in damage to the car! This was crazy if the damage was done it was done after I had returned the car! I travel for a living and rent 50 cars or more a year. THIS PLACE IS A JOKE! I WILL NEVER SHOP NOR HAVE HAVE A CAR SERVICED HERE AGAIN! I WILL HAVE TO SAY FALCONE IS THE BEST OPTION ALL THE WAY AROUND!

I live in Cincinnati. I was looking for a car within a 200 mile radius. As you can imagine I had the opportunity to look at many cars that fit my needs. I sent messages to many dealerships requesting more information regarding cars they had in stock. I only got a reply from two people. Only one understood the problems I was going through trying to find a good reliable car for a fair price. I make a very good living, but still had issues with bad credit. Brad St. Clair did not turn his back on me as many other's had done. Instead he stayed in contact with me until he found a solution. It's easy for a person in a sales role to simply look for the easy deal. Brad did not do that. He did not know me, but treated me with the highest respect. For that alone I thank him and the others I worked with at Tom Wood. I would have no problem telling others to contact Brad about buying a car from him. Thanks Brad.

Best experience buying a car! My Jett TDI is getting better gas (diesel) mileage than I had thought possible; what's more, it's fun to drive. Matt Kennedy was more knowledgable than any sales person I have ever encountered. Even after purchasing the car, he has been more than willing to answer any additional questions. I was in dire need of a used car. Mike Danielson was awesome. He worked with me to make sure I found the car I was completely happy with. With some creative financing he got me into a used Passat. He even called me days later to make sure I was still happy. I bought a 5 year old car with low mileage and soon after it required some service. Tom Woods completed the service at no charge to me and made sure I was a happy camper! They even gave me a loaner until the service was complete. This is the first Volkswagen I have ever owned, and I am loving it! I would recommend Tom Woods to anyone who wants exceptional service and a superior automobile. Mike Danielson was great to work with, and the guys in the service department are very knowledgeable and professional. I get the impression that at Tom Woods bad service is "Outlawed"

Someone crashed into our minivan. Tom Wood Volkswagon returned it to its former glory. The folks at Tom Wook Volkswagon made it really easy for us. The service manager brought us a loaner vehicle and took ours to their shop for repairs. Brian, our Tom Wood Volkswagon advisor, took care of everything for us. He worked with other party's insurance company to secure payment, made the repairs, and delivered to our house. We were glad to get our minivan back but were a little sad to see the red Passat go back to Tom Wood Volkswagon. We were very pleased.

Bruce helped us get a great deal on my VW Beetle. He worked to get us a good loan. We will go back to get another car from there.The only problem we have had is the convertible button didn't work well. I had to take the car back to get fixed. I don't think that was anything the dealership could prevent.

WOW were do I start. Read My comment via google "I Got and OK price but felt dirty". Here comes the service part of the review. I was told by the Finance and Insurance guy ( I will leave his name out ) "oh the tire package for a mere cost of $240 will cover all your tires for the life of your car. Balancing, rotating, wear ect.....EVERYTHING. I drop my car off for the 10K service. Mention to the service tech I need my tires balanced, and "oh by the way- I purchased that tire package" needless to say I get a bill for the tires and THEY PUT A DIFFERENT WHEEL on my car that didnt even belong to me. I am still trying to get my wheel back.....do not purchase a car from them!!!!!! "BUYER WARNING READ THE REVIEWS"

Worst decision of our lives was to lease a Jetta from Tom Wood. Your service department at your VW is so bad it is almost comical. I just heard my wife get off the phone with one of your employees stating that he had no idea that I had dropped her car off yesterday. The problem started last week when we dropped her car off last Thursday evening for them to put a new tire on her car as she hit a pothole. After all day of waiting to hear from them on Friday, we finally call and they state that the rim is bent, but to not worry, they put a full size spare on it. No, they put her donut back on, but told us it was safe to drive normally, only federal regulations demanded the sticker stating not to drive over 50mph. They told us that her rim would be straightened either by Monday or Tuesday at the latest. On Wednesday, we finally called and they stated that we could drop it off Thursday and pick it up on Friday. My wife had to work so I dropped it off yesterday. We finally call now to see if it is ready and they state they had no idea that they even had her car. I dropped it off inside the service station, gave the key to an employee, watched him pull it out of the guest parking spot and into the garage, and even asked for a shuttle service back to my house. They must have forgotten about me because after waiting over an hour, I called a friend to come pick me up. They looked me right in the face and said they would take care of it and then with me right next to my wife lied to her and said they had no idea that I had even dropped it off. What kind of bushleague operation are you people running. This is not the first situation. Not even six months after leasing her new Jetta, my wife and I brought it back to you guys multiple times complaining of a clicking sound coming from the steering column while driving. Each time they said they didn't hear anything and even went to blame it on my wife saying that "well women are known to have so many keys on their key rings that it is probably putting to much pressure on the ignition switch." My wife held up her key with only the Jetta key and her house key only. Finally, after I think the fourth time of taking off work, missed appointments, and inconvenience to us, you guys finally said that we were right, and that the ignition switch was faulty and needed to be replaced. I know that we take the oppurtunity to tell everybody we know not to do business with your establishment and how horrible to your customers you are. More often than not we are met with instant agreement from other wronged former customers of yours. Our lease is up in June and we look forward to the day when we will never have to enter into your establishment again.
