I contacted this dealership knowing EXACTLY what I wanted after researching cars for at least a month. When I called, the woman who scheduled my appointment provided some of the most courteous customer service I've ever had via phone. Once I arrived I was greeted by several friendly employees. They accomodated my two girls with snacks & drinks, and even helped keep them busy. Then upon meeting our sales expert Marquel White, the process from there on out was smooth sailing. We bought our used car and were so excited to have a forever warranty. The 1st time I went in for an oil change I had mentioned when I scheduled the apt that there was a foam piece on the inside of the hood that was loose and asked if they could look at it at that time. When I got there, i decided to wait in the store. Biggest mistake ever! I waited for an hour and a half wondering what was going on... I went up to the counter at that time to find out what was going on. Long story short the part was at a different store and they were on their way back. So I sat back down and waited...another hour!! At this point I had been waiting for 2 1/2 hours I went back up and finally they offered me a courtesy car. That was the 1st time. My 2nd oil change went much better because I requested a shuttle to avoid spending an entire day there and they even found a bad wheel bearing and fixed it under my "warranty ". At this apt they gave me a sticker saying I was due for a cabin filter in 3000 miles. 3 months later I started hearing another wheel bearing going and I knew I was past due for the air filter (which I didn't think was a big deal). I took my car in to find out that since I was over the miles they recommended having the air filter changed that my "forever warranty " was forever gone! Just like that, they would not cover the wheel bearing. I feel they don't explain the importance of getting the maintenance done at precisely the correct mileage and try to find any loophole to void the warranty. Otherwise I would have gotten my air filter changed 3000 miles early to make sure it got done. In the 3 visits I had for service, 2 of them were horrible experiences. We decided to trade in our car since it has no warranty and take our business elsewhere.

I must admit that I headed to the VanDevere dealership with some idea of what car(2016 Kia Rio) I wanted along with financing from my bank, but I would recommend Matt to anyone especially a first time car buyer since some dealerships can be intimidating. I remember years ago I went to another dealership really wanting a Saturn at the time, but the sales guy kept talking up this Escort(probably higher commission) despite very little difference in the price. Matt will give you detailed information on the vehicle during the test drive let you know his goal is to get you into the vehicle YOU WANT, and will not pressure you during the decision making process that could take several hours. I would recommend this dealership because of their upfront pricing on the vehicle, but I would read other reviews for information about dealer financing or trade in value customers receive here.

Mike Robinson helped me with the purchase of a 2014 Kia Sportage that I'd seen advertised on-line. However, after I had the vehicle for a couple of days, I realized it wasn't going to work for me as it was too high for my elderly father and my dogs to get into. Thankfully, VanDevere has a five day return policy! I called Mike Robinson and told him my problem with the Sportage and asked him about a 2014 Kia Sedona I saw on the VanDevere website. I made an appointment with Mike to see and drive it and the exchange was made that day - quickly and simply. All of this was happening during a very stressful time when there was a serious illness in the family but Mike was extremely patient, very kind, compassionate but also professional. This was the first vehicle I've ever purchased from VanDevere but I'd never hesitate to buy from them again. Mike Robinson was a blessing during a very difficult and stressful time.

spent 4 hours trying to buy a car first they can't find the car then they can't find the keys how do they not know where the cars and the keys are. Sales guy took our car to get it looked at and was gone for 30 minutes came back without the car or any info about it. said there were other cars in front of ours. left for another 30 minutes before he came back. still no info just waiting on sales managers to "put the numbers together". all i saw was chaos surrounding a desk full of people complaining and talking nasty to each other. I was there for 3 hours before we got "the numbers" by that time I wasn't buying anything. WHAT A MESS!!!

We went into Kia after seeing the Holidays on Us commercial for the sale they had going on. We didn't know anything about the Sorento and weren't sure we even wanted a new car. He remained calm, efficient and friendly throughout the process. The credit staff member, Becky, and the manager Jeff, all introduced themselves and shook my hand. All staff interacted with me pleasantly, honestly, and informatively. All of my questions were answered in a timely and attentive manner. When there were periods of waiting time, I was offered water and or a snack along with an apology for any delay. Not being a Summit County resident, I selected VanDevere to search for my next car, because of the vast positive word of mouth from Akron area co-workers, seeing the commercials regularly and just noticing the high number of plate frames from VanDevere on the streets and highways. I assumed if anyone could assist me, they could. I am overjoyed to driving away with my new 2016 KIA Soul. I had a very difficult situation. I had gotten into an accident last July in my Kia Soul, which I loved, and afterwards was coerced into getting another vehicle at another dealership in Fairlawn. Ever since I wanted back into a Soul. After a year in the other vehicle I stopped into VanDevere. Marquel met me at my car to see what he could help me with and from that point on he never stopped working to put me into the car I really wanted. He worked through my long list of complications, like high negative equity and the need for a similar payment to the vehicle I had, with Mack (another awesome person at VanDevere) until they figured out what the banks could do for me. To say the least it wasn't good news. I walked away thinking it was done and I would have to spend another year in a car I hated with a payment that was too high. But Marquel and Mack kept pushing and a week later Marquel called to tell me they had an offer that was within my ability to complete. Long story short I am now in a brand new Soul and no longer hating my payments because I love the car I am paying for. Marquel and Mack never stopped working for me and I am so appreciative of what they did. Stop into VanDevere if you are looking for a car they will work hard for you!

My salesman Kiley Jones is an outstanding knowledgeable person.at first I was a little hesitant in working with a young person, (I'm 77) but it didn't take long for both of us to communicate. He determined with no pressure what I wanted, we test drove a Kia Optima and he explained everything even add ons I asked about. Shortly after starting to get the paper work done, I noticed a Buick LaCrosse on the sales floor and I always wanted a Buick. Kiley didn't mind me changing to the Buick and worked diligently to to the point I was able to buy the car. Would I buy another car at VanDerve? Absolutely if I live long enough. Would I buy it from Kiley. Yes, I would hope he would still be there. There is no doubt in my mind he will be in management before to much time goes by. You can't go wrong buying a car here, they pick it up at your home for service wash it and so far they have always brought mine back. On top of this you get a life time warenty on the power train.

Lawrence Miller helped me get into the vehicle I wanted and never tried to talk me into something I did not want. Throughout the whole process he was very understanding and patient with me as I had to leave often to get to work and return the next day to continue the process. He even remained patient when I changed my mind on the vehicle I wanted and made sure it was 100% ready for me to test drive upon my arrival. I did my research online before going to the Vandevere dealership and was interested in a 2009 Toyota Corolla I'd seen on their website. Salesman, Eric Eash, greeted me at the door then we sat down and I told him the car I was interested in. We went to look at it and Eric knew all the ins and out of the vehicle. We went on a quick test drive and then went back to his desk to talk about the details. I told him I would be financing it through USAA bank and that I would not commit to anything until I'd talked with my representative. I gave him 100 dollars to hold it and was assured it was totally refundable. I went back the next day and Eric walked me through the buying process and an hour and a half later off I drove in my new used car. Before finalizing the deal, Eric took me on a tour of the facilities including the service department. I was very impressed. Thank you Eric, for making it so easy. There was no high pressure sales tactics and I didn't feel ripped off. I would recommend Vandevere and my salesman, Eric Eash to anyone looking for a new car!

I found the car I wanted on the internet or I would have never gone there. They have too many buildings to go to. You met the salesman in one building then they want you to tour the maintenance department (I can that at the time of service). If you've been in one garage you've seen them all. Then back to the salesman desk. Paid (CASH) for my new car, signed papers, then had to go to another building to talk to the finance manager. (Trying to sell extended warranty.) Then back to the salesman desk to get keys & leave. They also have their website advertised on the back window. I WANT IT OFF.......

From the time of my initial contact with the dealership, I was impressed with the amount of information available to an out-of-state buyer. I had been searching for a replacement vehicle for my wife and found exactly what she wanted at VanDevere Buick in Akron, Ohio. Even though it was over seven hundred miles from my home, I was not hesitant at all in driving that distance (one way) in order to take a look at the vehicle. When I finally met the salesperson with whom I was dealing (Tom Fiala) at no time did I feel any pressure to purchase the vehicle I was looking at. Tom was very thorough in discussing the "history" of the car and allowed my wife to take a test drive right away. Since it was almost identical to the car we were trading in (only 4 years newer and approximately 60K less miles), it was easy to see that the car was exactly what she was expecting. The process of purchasing the car went very smoothly and I got a fair price for my trade-in (exactly what had been quoted to me prior to leaving Iowa). The paperwork process went smoothly as well (handled by Tyler) and within a short time my wife and I were back on the road toward home on a Saturday afternoon. My wife and I left the dealership feeling as if we had been treated as life-long VanDevere customers, rather than as out-of-town first-time customers at the dealership. Tom Fiala was "awesome" to deal with. The car handled beautifully on the trip home, and I was impressed by the follow-up phone calls I received from the dealership and from Tom after our arrival back in Iowa. I was also impressed by the Lifetime Drive Train Warranty applied to all Vandevere used cars with less than 100K miles on the odometer. It made me expect many years and miles of trouble-free driving. This was my first vehicle purchase which started on the internet, and I would not hesitate to take this approach in purchasing another vehicle (especially from Van Devere Buick). We had been looking for two weeks for a specific truck, when we found it at VanDevere we were over joyed. They called us the next day and told us the truck was available so I filled out the pre approval to get a jump on our appointment two days later. The following day they called and said the truck had been sold. We are very unhappy about this to my understanding from other dealerships when someone is interested in purchasing something especially filling out paper work and have a scheduled appointment then they should hold that vehicle for them. We are very unhappy and will never be returning for any other deals or sales.

August 24, 2013 I have been shopping for a new minivan for the past few weeks, and found a 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan for sale at Vandevere Buick at 300 W. Market St. in Akron, OH that I was very interested in purchasing. I contacted the dealership via their website around 9am on Thursday, 8/22, and had a chat session with Kristi Stevens, a Customer Care agent at Vandevere. I told her specifically which vehicle I wanted to see, and she informed me that it was available and she would put me on the "VIP" list to see it in person. I told her I would be traveling over an hour to come see the vehicle, and she assured me it would be there when I arrived. I called the dealership that same day around 5:30pm, before I left my home to drive to Akron, to verify it had not been sold during the day. Once again, Kristi reassured me that it was there waiting for me, and I would be welcomed as a "VIP" when I arrived. I hired a babysitter to watch my 3 small children, and drove from Hermitage, PA to Akron, OH with a blank check in hand to visit the Vandevere Group and see what I expected to be my new car. When my wife and I arrived, we spoke w/ Randy Browne and told him why we were there. He checked with one of his associates, Zachary Lawrence, and Zachary told Randy and us that the car was "missing". They have had other inquiries, and have not been able to locate it for 2-3 days. I was shocked that I could call twice on the same day I am coming to see a vehicle, have the dealership put me on their "VIP" list, and that whole time nobody bothered to check if the vehicle was actually there. I expressed my frustration to Randy for having wasted over an hour of my time driving there, the money for gas, and the money for a babysitter, only to have them tell me they don't know where the car I wanted to see is. He made no concessions for the inconvenience. He even went as far as trying to strong-arm me into making a downpayment on the vehicle, telling me that when they did find it, it couldn't be held for me to come back and see if I didn't make a downpayment. I was disgusted that after the experience I had, he would try to talk me into putting money down on a vehicle he didn't even know if they had!!! If this is how Buick allows their dealers to treat potential customers, I want no part of ever purchasing a vehicle from any of your dealers. Furthermore, I am expecting compensation for the gas and babysitting money I wasted due to Vandevere's deceptive sales practices and/or incompetence. I spent approximately $20 on gas and another $20 for the babysitter. It is very difficult for my wife and I, both working full-time and having 3 children, to get out for a night and look at cars. As I stated earlier, I had a check in hand and ready to buy. All I expected the dealership to do was take 5 minutes to ensure the vehicle they were advertising online, and told me by phone they had in stock, was still there before I arrived!!! Vandevere has found a new meaning for "VIP", as they made me feel more like a Very Inconvenienced Patsy instead of a Very Important Person.

After calling Kia directly and getting basically nowhere, other than getting a claim number, I had my car towed here. After a couple of phone calls from my wife and I they agreed to take a look at it (another garage didn't really want to tackle it and justifiably so). I received a very welcome phone call a couple of days later and was told that Kia was handling the repair. The car runs beautifully and the people I dealt with were great. I couldn't be happier. They kept calling an old phone number they had in the system for me rather than the number I submitted throughmy inquiry. No one could tell me if the 2011 Kia Sorento had the panoramic sunroof or not. I was a joke. I ended up buying the same car somewhere else.

Purchased a used SUV from Atlanta, which required much honesty and disclosure from the dealer. Over 3 weeks and speaking to 2 different salesman and the service manager I was confident in flying from Atlanta to Akron to purchase the car. There were a couple hang ups, 1st the salesman agreed to provide a second key. Once my credit was run (well over 700) they owner decided there was no longer enough profit to provide a key. The listing said premium sound system and auto start, neither were true. They offered to send $150 after proof of install. So my mistake I continued with the purchase, now knowing questionable character. I really liked the 2nd salesman and believed he was serving my interest and did not want the him to be punished for the owners decisions. I arrive at the airport and see the car. Looking it over, here is what was not disclosed; the head rest was broken, 2 other headrest lead leather was untucked from the trim, the headliner was separating from the sunroof, there was a 1/2" cut in the headliner in another place, no floor mats, burnt out blinker. Keep in mind I was told this went through a multi-point inspection (but the blinker and air filter were never checked) So a last minute flight home with hotel was over $500, so I proceeded. The car was under warranty so I figured much would be covered at local dealer. Not the case, the leather is aftermarket. So the 3 headrest have to go to a auto trim at a cost of over $400. Prior to purchasing I spoke to the service manager about the multi point inspection, I was told front brakes are 10mm and rear 8mm. My local dealer said front brakes are 6mm and rear 7mm. The final resolution with VanDevere was there is nothing we can do for you. So $265 for the Key, $96 for oil change, air filter and light bulb, and a pending trim to aftermarket trim shop to repair headrest and separating leather $400, floor mats $225, I will the car that was represented to me when I started the buying process.

We were looking to replace my son's car after an accident. We found what we wanted on-line 2 hours away in another state. We called the dealership and spoke with Tyler. Randy was refeffed to us from a work friend. Although very busy most of the time, he was able to somehow make us feel like a priority. Taking cars for test drives and showing us anything that we were interested in was his pleasure. He has such a likable personality and was good with our kids who accompanied us to the few trips that we made to the vandevere akron location. We had several questions, as this was the first vehicle that we had bought from a dealership as large as vandevere, and he answered them very knowledgably in a professional and efficient manner. I am not the kind of person that enjoys buying a new car. The usual haggling and offers and counter offers are not my idea of an enjoyable experience. I just bought a new Buick Regal from VanDevere. My experience at VanDevere was better than I had hoped for. Tyler made my visit very relaxing and comfortable. I plan on bringing my son back to see Tyler personally to buy his next car. When I left this morning I had no plans other than exploring the possibilities of trading my Sorento for another car. I have had a Sorento for the past 3 years and am leaving today with a brand new 2013 Sorento. My wife and I recently traveled from out of town to VanDevere Kia in order to pick up a new Kia Soul. Prior to our departure, we were promised three cars that matched our exact requirements. When we arrived two ours later, however, nobody was sure what was in inventory. It turns out that there was in fact only one. One of the others had sold and the third had additional options that increased the price. While we were extremely disappointed in this, both Mike and Dustin worked hard to make sure that our trip was not a waste. That being said, although we were finally able to make an agreement that both sides could agree upon, we were still disappointed that what we had been promised prior to our trip was not there for us when we arrived. This added unnecessary stress/pressure while at the dealership and left us with a poor experience with the car buying process. I think it all comes down to the online chat feature on Cars.com. This is great for getting information quickly/easily, but apparently the information provided there cannot be deemed reliable. Obviously this review is a bit mixed; we were happy that we were able to get our car at a price we deemed as fair, but we were disappointed at the lengthy process (3+ hours) as well as the inaccuracies as to what was available. We would probably recommend this dealership to someone who is local and can physically go to the lot to check out the inventory, but they seemed so unorganized (couldn't even find the cars on the lot) that I wouldn't trust a phone call or the online chat to tell you what they have.

The follow-up process is HORRIBLE. My salesman, Randy Browne, only cares about receiving a good review. I am still having unresolved issues with my new car yet it is as though he fell off the face of the earth. I was also told, by Randy, about a "customer appreciation dinner" but once I complained about Randy to the Sales Manager, I never received that promised email invite.
