Above and beyond.I had transmission problems with my GMC Acadia on my way out to Rapid City for a wedding. I was east of Mitchell, SD about 30 miles when it died. I called this dealership and a very nice lady by the name of Tami Winter answered my call. She and the dealership went above and beyond what I expected. It was closing time and Tami told me she would stay there until I got my car there and would then figure out what to do until my car got fixed.I had figured my weekend had been wrecked and was just thinking about trying to get home. She handed me the keys to a very nice vehicle and told me to go to the wedding.She was excellent at putting my concerns to rest over the week end.My only regret is that if she would not have given me a vehicle to drive - then I would of been able to SKIP the outside wedding where it was 103 degrees and the reception was no better. Just kidding.It is just great to know that a dealership and there employees would go the extra mile to help someone stranded and not even one of their customers.

We travelled through Mitchell on our vacation and had some emergency work done on our Suburban's exhaust system but Murphy and his law was with us. We got 30 miles farther down the road on a Saturday afternoon at 5pm and our alternator decided to quit working. John Engelland, the service tech who had labored over the exhaust system, volunteered to gather the parts and come the 30 miles to rescue my stranded family and me.John was courteous as always and expertly diagnosed the issue to ensure all electrical problems were addressed before sending us on our way. He had everything he needed to analyze and fix the potential issues. We are extremely grateful to John, Tami, and the Vern Eide Chevrolet folks for such awesome and friendly treatment.Many thanks again to John for such "Excellent" service!

My 2016 Corvette is "my Baby" and I was concerned about taking it to a dealer that I knew nothing about. My concerns were put aside by a wonderful service advisor named Tami Winter who introduced me to the service manager Craig. Craig gloved-up so he wouldn't leave fingerprints on the Corvette when he drove it into the shop. As he did, he assured me that the technician would clean up before working on my car. While I waited for the work to be done, I was offered refreshments and was greeted with a pleasant smile by every employee that I met. Craig brought my Corvette to me when it was repaired and told me to meet the technician Shane who worked on my car. Shane explained to me what had to be done and assured me that he had fixed the problem. When I got in my Corvette to leave I found a bottle of Vern Eide water that had been left on the console. What a pleasant experience!

Last friday my family and I were traveling from Freeman, SD to Pierre, SD. About 200 miles. When we pulled into Mitchell the car was smoking and smelled hot. I pulled over and found that there was engine coolant sprayed all over the engine. I could not determine the cause. I stopped at one dealer and it being 4pm on friday they were not to eager to serve us. When I pulled into Vern Eide around 430pm, I felt like I just landed at a 5 star hotel. They served us with a smile and took the car right in for a diagnosis while my wife and 3 kids sat in their lounging area eating popcorn and drinking soda and slush--Every person in the place seemed to be enjoying their work and were friendly and smiling. Tami Winter was outstanding!!! Technician Eric stayed late to ensure that our car was ready to hit the road before he departed for the day. About half way between Mitchell and Pierre we received a call from Tami checking up on our progress toward home. I can't say enough about the service we received. The service was so good I damn near talked myself into buying a car while I was there:) I know this for sure--next time i need a vehicle i will stop by Vern Eide. Good Service seems to be a rare commodity in this day and age as does class-i don't know how to define class, but I know it when I see and the folks at Vern Eide have it in spades!!

The service advisors were all excellent at Vern Eide GMC. Tami Winter was helpful both days that we had to bring our GMC 2500 in for a check engine light/emissions issue. She was efficient, friendly, and very helpful. The service area was clean, organized, and looked very professional.

On a recent return trip from Mayo Clinic to Rapid City, we decided to stop in Mitchell for the night. It was a bit drizzly that night. We forgot something in our Toyota Sequoia so I ventured out to get it. Well, while opening the back cargo door with my key, the window came down as it does on occasionally. The trouble was IT DID NOT WANT TO GO BACK UP!! Here it is 11:00 oclock pm, raining and the window WILL NOT go up. What to do? We decided to put 2 umbrellas in the back to keep some rain out and went to bed. I did sleep ok but up early to get to the problem. First i went to Menards, thinking i could get some tape and plastic. Ya Right, that really would have not worked. I Googled car dealerships and recognizing the name, I decided on Vern Eide Chevrolet in Mitchell. Walking in the door, i was greeted by Pam Engelland, Service Advisor. She got some initial information from me and then took the car back to be looked at. The mechanic in back diagnosed that the track and regulator were seized up but still managed to get the window back in place for our trip home. They also noticed a light out and replaced that. I was very very pleased with the quick service and would give this dealership high marks!

My husband was looking at a truck back in dec 2015 and told the salesman that he would have to show me the truck. My husband came to my work to show me the vehicle and I told him that we could look after work online. My husband told saleman that he wanted to wait before they did any numbers or anything as he had to visit with me. I went home and jumped onto my emails and had an alert that my credit was ran. I got onto the site where I got the alert from and Verne Eide ran my report. I did NOT give my permission for my report to be ran! I then had my husband call in and ask for our credit report and salesman said that he would send them out in mail. A couple days went by and still no report from them. My husband called and salesman said that they couldnt mail them but we could stop by to get them. I would not buy a vehicle nor would I recommend them to anybody! They didnt have my permission to run my credit. Very disappointed!

300 miles from home when the "check engine" light came on. They got us in immediately the next morning at 8:00 am, had the problem fixed in 30 minutes, and also took care of an open recall on the vechicle. Very accomadating! Would recommend this dealership to anyone.

Wayne Konz was very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. I went there not knowing for sure what I was going to get for a vehicle, just knew that I needed something newer. Wayne took the time to get to know my needs and wants and really helped me make a decision. Very patient with me, I think we test drove 4 different trucks until we found the one that meet my needs. Once I made the choice, Matt Engelland made the paperwork go very fast. I will be back when I have a need for any vehicle changes. I live 75 miles from this dealership, it was well worth the drive. Wayne also took the time to introduce me to Tami Winter (Service Advisor) and I will be going there for anything I need in the future for service.

Considering that repair work from a side rear collision could have been particularly stressful in working with another driver's insurance company and being without a vehicle during the repair time, I found the experience to be quite the opposite when working with Nathan Lalonde at the Vern Eide Collision Center. He did an excellent job coordinating communications the entire week between the insurance adjuster, parts to be ordered, repair department, and myself to have my 2010 F-150 repaired in as minimal time as possible. Nathan also loaned me an excellent truck for the week that was very much appreciated in getting to and from our farm during some days of slick snowy road conditions. The repair work was done to perfection. I couldn't have asked for anything more!

Nathan went above and beyond the call of duty to find and replace a rear piece of glass for my 2015 F-150. He searched the market for the glass and found it and replaced it in under 24 hours when others told me it would take three weeks. Fast, courteous, done right service.

Worked with Levi on getting a "new to me" truck. He answered all our questions and took time to explain everything. We were just about to sign the papers and we hit a snag about the height of the truck and whether we could pull our camper in and out of the shed at that height. Levi and team worked hard and gave us options/suggestions. In the end the deal did not work out but both Levi and Wayne were super to work with. Once we get the issue with our shed fixed I will definitely start my search for another truck here and hopefully can find another great truck and work with Levi and Wayne again!

Traveling from Michigan to Yellowstone towing a large travel trailer, we stopped in Mitchell, SD on 8/3/15 for the night. This is where I noticed that my 2003 Yukon XL had a failed rear axle seal. I found contact information online for the local GMC Dealer (Vern Eide) and called them. They were able to schedule me for 8 am the next morning and the repair was finished by 10:30 am so I was able to continue to my next destination pretty much on schedule. I would like to thank the Vern Eide Service Department for getting me back on the road quickly, at a reasonable cost, and with quality work (no further issues).

I can't say enough about this service center. Randy Bernards went above and beyond to help us out when my son and his friend hit an animal with the car. Not only did they service the car quickly to get them back on the road and home to us...but he made sure they had a way around town for their overnight stay that was needed for them to rush the parts needed overnight. I also spoke to another person about the tow issue, who was also very helpful. Again, very appreciative for how they handled everything. Especially for a frazzled mom who was several states away!

I have a GMC terrain that I lease. Saleman Chris Brink has gone above and beyond to help me when I have had a problem. The GM service department is excellent especially Lori. I had my service engine light come on and contacted Chris Brink on his day off and as was going out of town for Thanksgiving. He came to my place of work and gave me his vehicle to drive while he took it to Mitchell to have it looked at. They found out what was wrong and he called me and said I could drive it as it would not hurt it until they got the part in or he could bring me a loaner vehicle. I chose to drive it and leave the loaner for someone who might need it. Made an appointment to get it fixed when I get back. My work schedule changed so I contacted the service department and made an appointment for Sat. Later in the day Lori called me and asked if we could move the appointment as the service tech on duty for sat is new and they felt with having to take the gas tank out to fix the problem it would be better to have an experienced service tech work on it. She said that if I could get it to Mitchell they would give me a loaner to drive and would have some one bring my vehicle to me in Huron. Chris and the service department have gone way above their duty to help me out. Thank you so much for everything

My husband and I went to Vern Eide looking for a new vehicle. Trent Hennagir was our sales person. We couldn't have asked for a better person to do business with! He listened to our needs and found the perfect vehicle to suit us! We are so happy with our purchase and would highly recommend not only shopping at Vern Eide, but also asking for Trent specifically! We felt like he wasn't trying to sell any vehicle, but he was putting in every effort to find something that we would be happy with for years to come! We will definitely be coming back for our future vehicles. Brian Bruinsma also did some work for us on our vehicle. In most placed if you expect something done quickly, it's not done correctly. However, this was NOT the case with Brian! Our vehicle was done in a very timely fashion with amazing quality! Top customer service, anytime I stop in or called with a question, Wayne was able to answer it or find the answer out for me. Would defintely buy from them again. Ordered a 2015 GMC Sierra 2500HD and it was here in 49 days. Couldn't be happier with my purchase. Wayne stayed late the night that we picked it up and went over everything inside and outside. He set up the OnStar, helped linked it to our phones and explain everything to us in a manner that we understood. They beat out 2 other Chevy dealerships on the price and I am so glad I chose to stay in Mitchell and work with Vern Eide and Wayne.

I had won a 2014 buick enclave and was looking at trading it in on something a bit more my style. Tonya helped me pick out a few of the 2014 impala's that i might like. It took a bit of thinking but finally decided on one. Everyone at the dealership was extremely nice and helpful. Dalton was VERY helpful the night i came in to pick my impala up and bring it home. He stayed late that night to get all my paper work filled out and even spent the time setting up my chevy link and on star for me plus showing me how to work all my gadgets in this thing. I've never owned a new car so this was all new to me. The entire team at this dealership went way beyond helping me get into the perfect car and understanding everything. Very impressed! I stopped to look at a new pickup and was met by a very friendly and knowledgeable sales consultant in Tonya Stahl. I told her what I was looking at for pickups and what options I wanted. She knew exactly what I was talking about and led me to the ones on the lot that fit what I was looking for. She showed me all the options and how everything worked at what was new on the new Silverado's. Took it for a test drive and fell in love with it. When it came time to deal she was very polite and not pushy to buy it. We then looked at accessories and the parts guy was also very friendly and knowledgeable. When it came time to pick up the pickup Tonya was very helpful again when it came time to do the OnStar and other questions I had. I would highly recommend Vern Eide GM to anyone looking at purchasing a new vehicle. The whole experience was very good from start to finish.

I found a 2014 demo chevy 1500 on line. The sales department contacted me quickly and set up a time to test drive. I was greeted the moment I walked in by the salesman. We went to Mitchell to look at a different vehicle at a different dealer, didn't like it so we ended up at this dealership. We were immediately greeted by Trent he was very helpful while we were looking at the pickups they had on the lot. I own an auto repair facility and do not like pushy salesman Trent respected us and gave us time to look it over without being pushy. Everyone of the employees were very friendly to us and made us feel like they knew us forever. We would recommend this dealer to anyone looking for a vehicle.

I contacted Ryan and needed a good car that gets great gas mileage. He then showed me this Chevy Cruze and we talked about how I can get a low payment. Ryan worked really hard, show me the qualities, options and features of the cruze and the lease. I went in and talked to Trent we didn't agree on price of my car so I left and went home! I got home and thought about it, I was wanting a lot for my car about as much as they were going to sell it for! So I decided I would go back and talk it over a little more. I bought a new Enclave from Levi at Vern Eide. I looked at the Enclave on your website and then called and asked if it was still available. Levi set up a time to come in and look at the Enclave. We got there and seen what the difference was between ours and the new one. We were really close to what I wanted to trade for so we got to talk to the head cheese and try and sweeten the deal. We talked with him and Levi both and they justified why prices were the way they were so we felt comfortable with the new car! 2 weeks ago I went to the GM vehicle lot just to browse. I told Trent what exactly I wanted in a vehicle and he showed me a few right away. At first i was not really interested in the lineup they had, so he made it his mission to find what I wanted. From that day forward he sent me emails and called me on various other vehicles they had at both the GM and Ford lot. Long story short, Trent found exactly what I wanted. What a friendly place to purchase a vehicle! I was quite surprised to the service after having a bad experience the last time me and my husband came in about 3 years ago. Little did we know, this was a whole different dealership with completely different management! And it was all for the better! We found the pickup we wanted and they even found the color we wanted! I recently purchased a Chevy from Levi at Vern Eide GM. I had done a lot of shopping around and was looking at either an SUV or pickup. I went to a Billion to look at a Chevy 1500 that they had for sale. I had went to look at the Chevy 1500 the previous Sunday and Billion was closed. So I went back on Monday and they told me there was a couple driving it and after they cleared it they would probably buy it. The salesman didn't bother to offer me any other assistance. So, I started shopping and found a nice Chevy on the Vern Eide GM website. I drove to the lot and found the truck right away. Levi came out and greeted me nicely and asked if I would like to drive the truck. I took it out for a test drive and I was very impressed with the features it had. I have had a Suburban in the past and loved the interior space. We went in and had a friendly negotiation and Levi gave me a good price on the truck. I took the offer and I am very pleased with my purchase. The overall experience I had at Vern Eide was easy and there was no push to buy the truck. I will definitely keep doing business here in the future.

I used to buy all of my trucks from billion in Sioux Falls until I seen the truck I wanted on Vern Eide's website, which i don't usually go on just went on messing around. I called the store to get some additional information on the truck and Levi is the salesman that answered the phone. He informed me that it was a local trade and that the pictures didn't do the truck justice! so we scheduled a day to come down and check it out and to be honest I was't expecting the car to look as good as it was! I kinda thought oh he's another salesman just trying to get me to come to the store but when I got there it was exactly what he said it was going to be and the pictures didn't do it justice! WOW! Vern Eide GMC is not your average car dealer! Between the service, friendliness, and all the smiling faces I'm positive it is the best place to buy a vehicle in the country! I was immediately greeted by my salesman as soon as I walked through the door and he even had the vehicle I wanted to see pulled up to the front of the store! They had a very competitive price on the vehicle that we were looking for, gave us what we were looking for on our trade-in, and after the sale have been TOP NOTCH in taking care of us. In spite of our time schedule we were on that day, they make every effort to accomodate us and make sure all of our questions were answered and took great care of us. Other salesmen that we were not involved in our purchase were also very friendly and openly talked with us and made us feel welcome. I would strongly consider Vern Eide for my next vehicle purchase!

After a recent fender bender I found myself in need of the services provided by the Collision Center at Vern Eide Chevrolet in Mitchell. A young man had backed into the front end of my 2013 GMC Sierra pickup and dented the chrome bumper.I stopped in at the body shop and was pleasantly surprised to find out they could provide a detailed estimate to me via e-mail so I could forward the bad news to the company who would ultimately be responsible for the cost of the repairs.I made an appointment to have the vehicle repaired and I was very pleased with the customer care provided by Randy Bernards. He loaned me a very nice vehicle to use while my pickup was unavailable, he communicated with me on numerous occasions during the process when additional problems were discovered, and he provided a very cordial atmosphere in his office area whenever I stopped in.Although I never actually met the service techs who made the repairs, I am very happy with the results. The vehicle looks like its brand new and I can find no evidence of the damages whatsoever.Thank you to Randy Bernards for his excellent communication skills and to his crew for a job well done!

On November 13, we were on our way to Sioux Falls for a Dr. appointment. We stopped in Mitchell to do some shopping, but our car would not turn off. We went to Vern Eide to see if they could tell us what was wrong. Within about a half an hour we knew what the initial problem was. Tyler showed us the problem and explained what would have to be done He also told us of 3 other issues that we were not aware of They gave us a beautiful Impala to use to keep our appointment in Sioux Falls. We stopped back on our way home and our car would not be done until the next day. So we took their car home and returned it the next day. Tyler and his crew were so helpful and it meant a lot that they could work on our car at a moments notice. Wayne was very friendly and helpful to find just the model, color and extras we wanted on a vehicle. We went back and forth negotiating a price and were able to come to an agreement that satisfied both of us so we could keep our business in town. Whenever we've had questions or inquiries on any vehicles Wayne has been very prompt at getting our questions answered. The people at this dealership were top notch!!! We were towed in from 19 miles east of Mitchel to this dealership where we met Tyler Appel. He greated us so warm and friendly. I was in tears and he was very sweet. He gave us a loaner car to continue our trip to my daughter's National cross country meet, so that we did not miss it and I am forever thankful to him. We could not get our very old van fixed and so we decided it was time to buy a new car. We then talked with Ryan Kristensen and Dalton Overweg who went above and beyond what anyone needed to for us. We were 45 minutes later than the hours of operation and they stayed for us. The staff at this location is so great. I just cannot say enough about them. A trip that was going great and then turned miserable was brought back to great just by the "extra" that these folks were willling to go to and we really appreciate it! Hats off to you.

In my search for a new vehicle I came across the staff at Vern Eide, every one I had to deal with with was professional and very helpful. When I arrived at the dealership Tonya was very helpful and let me test drive any vehicle I looked it at to help with my decision. Tonya walked me through the entire process and made my experience pleasureable. I decided on a 2014 GMC Sierra and Tonya was very helpful in helping in setting up the Onstar and connecting the GMC Intellilink. We found one on the internet and that was the one. Wayne sent us pictures and my husband loved it. While travelling from Ohio, our 2010 Buick Enclave flashed a 'code' (Service Engine light illuminated). I was certain that the issue was fuel-related, and not a big problem, but I stopped at Vern Eide Buick in Mitchell, SD to make certain (we were about 1100 miles into a 3000 mile journey).Tyler Appel was attending the Service Desk, understood our problem (travelling), and got us scheduled for a checkup 45 minutes later!! When I came back, the Service Manager, Tom Hillman, took my particulars and had us take a chair.NOTE: I have owned GM vehicles almost exclusively for 61 years (Buick, Chevrolet, Corvette, Opel, Pontiac, GMC) and I have never been to a customer waiting area the like of which my wife and I enjoyed at Vern Eide: TV (large flat screen), fresh popcorn, upholstered lounge chairs (ala a living room), slushies, cookies, coffee, pop, and more!Some twenty minutes later Mr. Hillman informed us that the O2 sensor was bad, it was in-stock, it would be installed in a short time (which it was), and the Enclave was under a Certified Warranty and that the entire service would be at no cost to us. All told, in less than two hours after walking into the Vern Eide dealership Service Department we were back on the road.I got the impression from both Tyler and Tom's demeanor, that this level of quality customer care is routine with them, not the exception..I will be retelling this story often; I only regret that I live over 1000 miles from this extraordinary dealership.

Wayne was patient, made us feel very comfortable, and did not rush us to make a decision. He listen intently to our concerns and answered all of our questions. I trust Wayne Konz, which is why I have him involved in all of my purchases and service requests. He has earned it by straight dealing and a long history of honesty. He sells cars to my family and friends, as I have recommended him at every opportunity. And if there is an issue, he makes things right, and quickly. I was not 100% happy with my vehicle right after I drove it off the lot (it was in need of a detailing I discovered upon closer inspection) and he stepped up without question, took my new car, had it sent back to the shop, and gave me a loaner for the day while my car was prepared. Good service!

Very Helpful. Willing to go the extra mile to get me the car I wanted. Jared knew the 2 vehicles I was interested in and took the time as a new salesman to get and have the information I needed to make an educated purchase of my new vehicle. I test drove each of the vehicles and having the information I needed I decided on the 2014 Impala over the 2013 Malibu.Price was very good compared to other dealerships---Not great you understand I only wanted to spend $20,000 but isn't that everyone's dream to have a new car for little or no money.After purchasing the car, Jared and I believe Jaeson? explained the features on my impala and helped me feel comfortable.I have been a Dodge fan for many years, but after driving my 2014 impala for a week---(more than the 31 miles to a gallon), and if it drives for over 200,000 miles, I may just be the newest Chevy fan. I have known Jared for a while and when he told me he had recently got a job at Vern Eide I put him on the "hunt". I told him my price range and what I was looking for. He called me back a short time later with 13 vehicles to choose from! He wasn't pushy at all like all the other car salesman I've dealt with, and was very accommodating to my busy schedule. Great experience and very friendly service. Jaeson Dollar was very helpful and did everything to put a great deal together. While I was waiting to find out what type of deal I was getting Jaeson took me to lunch and we drove the truck I was interested in. I told some friends of mine where I got my truck and sent them to talk to Jaeson and they to agree that he was very pleasant to work with and showed a lot care and concern about there needs. The rating is simple. We appreciate Vern Eide and we REALLY appreciate Mark Vaughan and his sales team including Wayne. We could choose many dealerships to buy our vehicles from and yet when the need arises we never look outside of Vern Eide Chevrolet Buick GMC in Mitchell, South Dakota. We have purchased 5 new vehicles since December 2011 so less than 2 years time. 3 of those we currently still own and the first 2 were upgrades such as our 2012 Equinox we upgraded into the 2013. Our 2012 GMC Sierra we just upgraded to a 2013 Silverado as well. We purchased the Terrain in addition to those. I would definately qualify that as a more than satisfied customer considering we only met them in December 2009 when we purchased our first NEW vehicle buying a 2009 GMC Sierra.

On Trips to Mitchell we had been checking out the pickups available on the Vern Eide GMC car lot, but had not made a serious attempt to price one out until Gary met Matt Mulder a Salesman for Vern Eide. We really never intended to purchase our new pickup that day, but Matt's sales skills, professionalism, friendliness, interest in our needs and determination to give us a deal we couldn't refuse, was just that, a deal we just couldn't turn down. We never felt pressured, he gave us the time we needed to think over our finances and he kept our payments within the budget that we had requested. And when it comes time to purchase a different car, Matt is the salesman I will be seeking out to make that purchase.

I have known Ryan since he was in high school, and the fact that he works there was the main reason I went to Vern Eide. I was very pleased with his overall sales performance. I have never purchased a brand new car before, I have always driven program cars. He walked me through the entire process and I was able to get a car that I love for the price I wanted to pay. I saw the truck I was interested in, but my truck was in the shop in Sioux Falls due to Hail Damage. I told Tonya I was interested in trading but my truck was delayed due to body part order from the Hail Damage. Tonya worked with me and the body shop and as soon as my truck arrived back from Sioux Falls, she notified me that it had arrived and she would get an appraisal on it for a trade. When I arrived at the dealership, I sat down with Tonya to negotiate a deal. In less than ten minutes I had a deal on my new truck! It was fast, easy and no hassle. Just good common sence. Tonya kept me informed during my wait for my truck to be returned from the body shop. I thought the new truck I wanted would be gone before my trade-in came back but it was still there. Tonya was watching it for me and keeping me advised. Tonya was honest and straight forward about everything and no hassle. This was the best experience I have had while buying a new vehicle and I have bought many.
