Once in a great while a very special vehicle comes along, one that "rings all the bells". After having bought, reconditioned and resold over 125 LR Discovery's, this is that one for us! Its most obvious stand-out feature is its mileage - only 87,000 on an 19 year old vehicle. But low mileage alone is no guarantee of your satisfaction, but this one back up those number with equally exemplary condition. If you know D2's you know how vulnerable the paint and trim is to aging so perhaps you will be as astonished as I was at the nearly impeccable condition of both on this truck! I certainly have never seen a D2 with absolutely no broken plastic trim and no noticeable clearcoat deterioration! And certainly it earns points for being in one of the most rare and desirable colors available at the time: Vienna Green, a very modern standout color with terrific personality because of its "flip-flop" shading. Inside the same wonderfulness holds true with excellent leather seats in the very desirable Alpaca Beige with contrasting black piping, a brand new "lifetime guaranteed" headliner (which we added after having resealed the sunroof drains), and some gorgeous and also very unique wood accents. In particular it features a single continuous piece of Burl Walnut trim that runs through the center console and is complimented by additional look-alike trim in the dash area. We took the liberty of adding a modern Kenwood high-end head unit with Bluetooth connectivity, USB charging on its face and hidden in the glovebox, HD channels and terrific sound fidelity (the original unit is included). Original carpeted floormats are in place! Of course all this beauty is for naught if the truck is not sound and reliable. To that end we upgraded the head gaskets with the most modern composite gaskets which we then secure to the engine with fail-proof ARP chromoly studs. And we updated all the engine support systems with a new top grade Airtex water pump, a factory OEM 185 degree thermostat, new hoses, radiator reservoir, belt and pulleys as well as new coils, wires, and plugs. Premium Shell Rotella T5 oil and a new OEM oil filter were installed. A personal 500 mile Quality Assurance Test Drive has confirmed the efficacy of our work as has a recent GA Emissions Test. Underneath you will find a totally rust-free frame, not surprisingly as this is, after all, a California/Arizona truck - who could ask for better history than that? . We also upgraded the tires to new Nexen Roadian AT Pro8's (a long-wearing great riding tire for on and of-rod) in a 1.5" larger diameter than stock for better grip and appearance.
