If you are considering Camry, Accord, or even Lexus ES350 (LS460 is similar in size but vastly superior in luxury), you should consider the Avalon. It is on the wider-longer Toyota Sienna minivan platform, NOT a stretched Camry, and the extraordinary rear legroom (more than a BMW 750i L in 2005) with flat hump-less rear floor is the benefit. The 280hp v6 (es350 engine) is amazingly potent yet efficient and the ride is like a cloud at thruway speeds. As a former Lexus ES owner, Im very impressed with this Avalon - I will even say I love it; this will NOT be my last one. The heated seats are great and the armrests (forward-sliding) make the seat like a la-z-boy recliner. Better than my ES by a decent margin.VERY safe with stability control and 7 airbags (driver, passenger, side, curtain, and driver-knee).The navigation is obviously dated but works great and is helpful. The stereo - 10 speaker JBL surround sound - is incredible.Its been impeccably maintained by what appears to have been a mature owner.
