Seller description
2010 BMW M3 Convertible For Sale The 2010 BMW M3 Convertible sits at the end of a line that will not be repeated. The E9x generation was the only M3 ever built with a V8, and it was the last M3 to use a naturally aspirated engine before the model moved to turbocharging in 2014. This one is finished in black over black with the power retractable hardtop and, more importantly to the people who look for these, a six-speed manual transmission. Power comes from the S65 4.0L V8, rated at 414 horsepower with a redline of 8,400 rpm. The engine was developed out of the S85 V10 used in the E60 M5 and carries much of that architecture over, including eight individual throttle bodies, one per cylinder, for immediate throttle response. Despite adding two cylinders over the inline-six it replaced, the S65 is an all-aluminum design that came in lighter than its predecessor. It is a high-revving engine that asks to be wound out and rewards the driver who does. Behind it is the six-speed manual, the configuration enthusiasts actively seek out on these cars, sending power rearward through BMW's M Differential Lock, a variable limited-slip unit that can lock progressively as needed to put power down out of corners. The convertible body style brought the first folding hardtop ever fitted to an M3. With the roof up the car has the shape, security, and cabin quiet of the coupe, and it stows itself in the trunk in about twenty seconds for open-air driving. The chassis carries the M-specific suspension tuning, cross-drilled brakes, and the MDrive system, which lets the driver configure throttle mapping, stability control, and steering effort and recall the setup with a single button on the wheel. The all-black interior is trimmed in the M3's standard leather and includes an Alpine touchscreen head unit with Bluetooth, replacing the factory radio with modern phone integration and audio streaming. The E93 M3 is the car for someone who wants the S65 experience without giving up a folding roof, and the manual gearbox makes this a specific combination that is worth seeking out rather than settling for whatever is nearby. Values on clean, well-sorted E9x M3s have been climbing as the naturally aspirated V8 becomes harder to find, and the three-pedal cars lead that movement.
