Called looking for a 2016 honda civic coupe. After the first sales employee stated their were many in stock and set me up with an appointment for the following day, I was shocked because no one in a 3 state radius had no more than 1 available. I called back and talked with the phone operator who i questioned and she said she would have the manager call me. He did not call me that day. The following day the first sales employee asked if i would be coming in for my appointment and i asked her again if they had any 2016 civic coupes in stock. She said yes and then after 3 mins she went to check inventory. She realized she didnt have a single one in stock and so she transferred me to the sales manager Mason. He said he would have 1 coming soon and i made a reasonable offer based on what other dealerships have been and he said "No way im giving any deals for this car!" and hung up the phone. Looks like they missed out on my business for a new car.

Honda of Illinois made my buying a new car easy and I fell in love with it even more because of them! I went in unsure of what I wanted. The sales manager Mason walked around with me point out what cars he thinks I would like to what I told him I preferred. Then he had Don (a salesman) walk me around to them with keys to check them all out. I ended up choosing the 2015 Honda Civic it is beautiful well taken care of and totally worth the money! Honda worked me one of the best car deals ever! I really recommend Honda of Illinois, keep on rocking on guys!!

Just beware if you buy a vehicle that is ( as is ) they won't help fix anything that is wrong with the vehicle after you buy it. We had a service light that came on a day later and it was a e vac problem and they just said we sold it as is. But they can reset lights so no one knows what really is wrong.

Purchased my 4th vehicle from this dealer last year with few problems, but have had continual problems trying to get basic maintenance done through their service department. Have tried to get an oil change three times only to find out they were too busy, didn't respond to my service request and couldn't get in because they changed their policy and now only take people with appointments on Saturday. Might be nice to tell your customers when you make changes like that. Anyway, used to buy vehicles here because of the good service. I guess I'll go somewhere else next time and get a better price on the vehicle. Told the service person about these problems and got no accommodation.

Overall shopping Experience- 5 stars Just purchased a 2015 over Labor Day Weekend- my 1st Honda :) Customer Service- 5 stars A big shout out to Ed Selinger- You Rock!!! Ed was our sales person- and talk about a patient & non-pressure sales person. I highly recommend him to anyone who is looking for a great sales person before & after the sale. You bet I'll be telling people about you, Ed. Just wanted to let all the staff know how much we appreciated your checking on us, including eye contact- that was great. We chose to go with the base model & was so impressed with what was "standard" on it- including all the leg room. I'm looking forward to a road trip for sure. Buying process- 4 stars The finance department could have used a few more people on hand as we had a longer than normal wait. We were also quoted 1.9% when we qualified for a lower rate. We were the ones that had to bring that to the attention of the finance department after seeing the published rates on Honda Financials website. We felt the whole finance aspect of it could have been a little more organized. Rated it a four because everyone was still very friendly. Facilities- 4 stars Showroom was nice & clean. Soda was good & cold which was very much appreciated on the hot day we were there. The cups were stacked and organized. The bathrooms were clean but could use an update.

Went into dealer to look for a family car like an accord, crv, pilot, etc. Was greeted by a dealer who said he could assist me, after test driving a few cars I decided on an Accord. The dealer then passed me to another dealer that didn't seem at all interested or knowledgeable on the vehicles, every question I asked he had to check his phone for an answer... I wanted a specific color car they didn't have on the lot, and they told me they could dealer trade for it. I needed to value my older car with them and they took it and test drove it and looked it over. The initial dealer I had been greeted with came to tell me that I am a tad upside down (and I knew this) but he made me what I thought a fairly reasonable offer for how old my car was. I inquired if I could come back tomorrow while they locate the vehicle in the color I wanted, and they agreed happily.Upon return I was told by salesman two that the car I wanted with specific color was not produced (even though the vehicle and color were in the brochure...) I settled on a second color that they had on the lot and upon reviewing paperwork I noticed that the trade offer for my car was 3K less then what they offered yesterday. They said they called around to wholesalers and they offered me too much and that this is all they could do...I left, went to another dealership a tad south and got a incredible deal and they gave me more than what this dealer had originally offered for my car. Will never go back.

another update on my experience with Honda of Illinois, most notably: the service department. today I took my 2013 pilot in for a factory TSB. I easily scheduled my appointment on line and brought it in. Rusty and Chris took care of me. I needed a loaner vehicle for the day and they were able to provide it. ( 2015 accord exl) then Chris called and informed me that my pilot needed a part and that I could keep the vehicle another day and they would have the part and the repair done by tomorrow. Wow! I cant put into words how much this means to me. I wasn't inconvenienced at all. they had a loner for me to go to work. (no waiting in the shop for hours) im so glad I bought a Honda! Big THank You to Rusty and Chris!!!

UPDATE; I purchased my honda pilot in 7/13. It's now been 15 months of trouble free ownership...the reason for the update...I am still very happy with my pilot! ....SALES; I am currently installing running boards and I ran into a snag. Two bolts require a special tool. I call service and they said that they might charge for an hour's labor. No problem...I contacted my sales man ,Paul Gary, and he said to just bring it in and they would fit me in and take care of it. Thanks Paul.

We had a very bad experience with the vehicle we purchaced from them. We immediatly had issues with vehicle and they refused any cooperation with us, The CUSTOMER SERVICE is terrible and Our salesman and management avoided us , our problems, and our concerns or complaints. they drug out every concern we tried to take care of til we were basically stuck. Too many issues to even list with our encounter. Not at all happy with their dealership and DO NOT recommend.

The title should say it all. We purchased a 2005 Odyssey on 2-12-14. This was only 2 days after seeing it online. Paul Gary handled everything. We were in a rush to replace our recently totaled 2002 Odyssey and Paul made sure everything went smoothly & quickly. We live 3 1/2 hrs away, so you can imagine how much trouble the process could have been. Paul answered every question about the vehicle I could have asked & offered to get me any additional photos that I would like of the vehicle. It was such an easy process, it almost didn't seem like car buying. I can't say enough about the service. The price was extremely reasonable for the vehicle. Paul actually lowered the price to make it even more affordable for us. You can tell this is a company that prides itself on customer satisfaction & I am an EXTREMELY satisfied customer. My wife raved the whole drive home about the vehicle. I feel we got more than what we paid for & that's a good thing. Thanks Paul.

Expect them to lowball your trade in. They use black book to value your car. This ALWAYS favors the dealer. However, try to buy a used car and they will show you the value of their used car price from NADA or Kelly Blue Book. This again favors the dealer. Don't expect a good or great deal from them, just expect a deal. Wisdom and insight are you best friend when dealing with this dealership. The service department is descent. I have never had a problem with them concerning this. So a big thumbs up to their service department. If you shop here good luck.. In my opinion I would head to St Louis and get a much better deal.

This was our first auto purchase initiated on-line and was effective and pleasant. Paul Gary and Max Benson were the people we dealt with. Paul is their internet specialist and Max a sales associate. All on-line communication was personal and answered all our questions. My first impression of Paul was one of an really nice, outgoing person you could sit with for an afternoon and have a good time. Max helped do the preliminary work and showed us vehicles, Paul dealt with the financial aspects. Both are incredibly personable people. Max and I connected immediately. He's young and very much fun to talk with a really nice guy. Closing on the vehicle was efficient and to the point without being "clinical." These guys are awesome!

Recently purchased a Honda CRV and this dealership went above and beyond to meet all of our needs. I would also like to specifically mention Paul Gary and Roman Perun. Last week I contacted Paul Gary to see a car advertised on their website. When I arrived he had a carfax report ready for my review. He brought the car to me for my test drive. He made sure I was comfortable and told me to take my time with the car. The buying process was painless for this single female. Paul gave phenomenal customer service as he was polite, professional and never took advantage that I was a female shopping alone. He is very well informed in auto sales and I appreciated his expertise. I was searching for a small pickup and found a Nissan Frontier at Springfield Honda online. I contacted Paul Gary, the internet sales manager, and I was able to test drive it right away. He was prompt when it came to replying to my emails, and was a pleasure to work with. He was patient (we exchanged over 50 emails back and forth!) and answered all of my questions quickly and thoroughly. They worked with me on the price, and I feel good about what I paid, which isn't always the case when buying a car, no buyer's remorse here. We were very disappointed with our visit to Honda of Illinois. We were looking at a 2012 Honda Odyssey. It was VERY busy on this Saturday afternoon (which we understood). We test drove the van and were in the process of having our car appraised. It was taking much longer than we had planned and had to leave for a family function. Our salesman was actually helping someone else at the same time, so we tracked down someone else and asked about our appraisal. The "appraiser" said they could not give us a value because they could not get our car started. So we HAD to leave without a word from Roman. Which we thought the "appraiser" would let him know and he would contact us on Monday. Monday came and went. I ended up calling that night and was told Roman was gone for the night. She would let him know I called, but Tuesday was his day off. Tuesday about 2 Roman called. I spoke with him about coming in and talking numbers. He stated he would be in Wednesday and I said I could come by in the afternoon. Well Wednesday came and a semi-emergency came up and I was not able to stop by. He never called to follow up! I did not hear from him until today (1 1/2 weeks later). A letter came in the mail "thanking" us for visiting and basically wanting our business. I really feel that they dropped the ball here! They did not want our business and acted uninterested in us! If Honda of Illinois is listening, we went 100 miles out of our way to buy a 2014 Honda Odyssey EX-L at Bommarito (See my review on their page)!!!

My husband and I had a wonderful experience purchasing our new Honda Pilot! I did most of the initial research via the internet and had all of my questions answered by Paul Gary. Since Paul wasn't available the day we came in for a test drive, Roman Perun did a great job answering any additional questions and taking us on a test drive. These guys went out of their way to find the exact color Pilot we wanted and give us a great deal!! I would recommend both of these men without hesitation! (Just to clarify--the low score for facilities is due to the fact that we purchased during a tent sale during a particularly rainy and stormy month. It was windy and muddy...overall, not my ideal location for making such an important purchase. However, this in no way reflects on the quality of care we received from Paul and Roman!)

Came into service department and had a gift certificate from friendly chevrolet for an oil change and tire rotation which was purchased by one of my daughters as a gift for their sister but not usable since the chevrolet trail blazer purchased for is no longer owned. jackie,the owners daughter, walked over from chevy to honda with my daughter and spoke to the gentleman in the service department and informed him that they would honor the gift certificate for an oil change and tire rotation for my honda accord. jackie went out of her way to insure my customer satisfaction.

Never once was he pushy or out of line with how he acted towards me or my family. In our month long shopping around at different car lots, Paul was by and far the best salesman we encountered. He was Extremely detailed when asked to explain something and at the same time never dump trucked so much information on us that we couldn't keep with what was going on. Mike Hughes in the finance section was extremely helpful and proficient as well. We walked away with a GREAT deal and a great new 2013 Honda Pilot 4wd Touring. If you are looking to by a car from a car lot that has a sales staff and management team that is honest and proficient at what they do and a lot full of quality cars, I HIGHLY recommend going to Honda of Illinois in Springfield. Picked up my new Honda Accord today and I love it. Paul Gary my salesman was great to work with. Paul not only was knowledgeable of the vehicle I was purchasing but took extra time to show me all of the features in my car both with my husband and when I picked up the car. When shopping for the vehicle, Paul helped me compare vehicles and select which model most fit my personnel preferences and allowed me plenty of time to make my decision. Not pushy at all and each time I visited he took a lot of time to answer all of my questions. Once my decision was made he went out of his way to find the exact car I wanted. I felt like I got a good deal, but more importantly, Paul talked directly to me (not my husband - "ladies you know what I mean") throughout the process. Mike Hughes made the paperwork process simple and fast, even with a few changes at the end. Everyone at the Honda of Illinois dealership was friendly and made my purchase very easy. We purchased our Honda CRV from a St Louis dealer and needed routine maintenance. Living in the Spfd area, I did not want to go to St Louis but I was hesitant to go to Honda of IL. My assumption was that when they realized that we did not purchase our vehicle from them, we would get 3rd class treatment, if I was lucky. I could not have been more wrong. In fact, we were told that a service that we thought was needed was not needed at all. Hmmm, didn't get taken advantage of. We have 2 CRV's and a daughter that will be of driving age soon. If, and when, one of those CRV's give out or our daughter is ready to purchase, not only will we shop for a Honda, but we will deal with Honda of IL. Thank you for such wonderful service.

I usually dislike the car-buying experience. However, in this case I contacted Paul Gary, who we have purchased a vehicle from in the past and told him what I was interested in. When I arrived approximately 45 minutes later he had two of these vehicles pulled up front for me to look at. We ended up purchasing one of these. I didn't have to look at anything else because he had everything ready for me and picked exactly what I had asked for. The negotiating process was quick and painless and the financing was as well. I would deffinitely recommend Paul and this dealership to others and I will also consider shopping her again.

My husband and I live in the central Illinois area and had been searching for a used SUV with a third row for two months. We found several in our area. Our first experience at dealing and negotiating over a car started at Landmark Cadilliac and it was a horrible experience. We were discouraged and had to wait a few weeks to start looking again based on our frustration. Our next stop was Honda of Illinois. It was a great experience. The staff was honest, helpful and willing to work with us and help us find something in our price range. We appreciated their willingness to work with us on the times we could come in as a family. I have three kids and the staff was so accomodating for my children to be in the office. Definetly a family friendly place. We would definetly buy another vehicle there. Ask for Rob or Paul. They are very helpful and willing to work with you even if it is late.

After doing a lot of internet research searching for a used Honda, I ended up at the Honda of Illinois, Sprinfield location. Rob Blair was the sales person I worked with and he took great care of me. I knew I wanted a Honda and something with great gas mileage and his knowledge was very helpful. I even ended up buying a new Civic which I hadn't planned to do. I had planned to buy used. It was a great decision to buy NEW! I spend a lot of time comuting to work and LOVE driving my new Civic. Rob had lots of greeat advice and was super helpful in helping me achieve HOnda financing. I couldn't have asked for a better sales rep. The Honda office in Springfield is beautiful. Definitely was a very professional experience.

Checked dealer via Internet. The internet sales person was outstanding, communicating in an effective and friendly manner. Had a choice of several models with the requested options and in the price range requested when we went to the dealer. Handled the paperwork in a minimum time, which we greatly appreciated. Clear explanation of financing options. He also took the time to explain the features of the car and took us through the service area explaining how to make appointments.

I am a female and the experience of buying a vehicle in Springfield had always been frustrating, to say the least. However, I was pleasantly surprised with the Honda Dealership. I was truely impressed with the overall operations and with the staff.....especially Paul Gary. Paul talked with my daughter to find out what she was looking for and the price range. My daughter ended up buying a Honda Pilot (well within her price range) that day. It was, by far, the least stressful car buying experience, I have ever had. I just had my 2005 Honda in for service.Brian and the whole service dept took time to make sure my visit was great. I was in for a major repair and they told me all that was to be done and gave me a time and value. I have been to several repair shops in town and have not have the service I got here at Honda of Illinois!!! Great job guys!!

We wanted to get a hybrid and were not having luck finding one locally. I expanded my search and found one at Honda of Illinois. From the beginning we were treated courteously and they were not pushy at all. The price on the car we purchased was very good. Even though we had to travel 90 minutes to the dealer, it was absolutely worth the trip. All aspects of this experience were excellent. I would highly recomend this dealer to everyone.

Went in for oil change, tire rotation and squeak/grinding noise. Brake pads needed to be replaced. I was treated courtiously and informed of the needed repairs every step of the way. The service people were professional and made me feel like I was an impotant customer. They said it would take a little over an hour but I was out the door in about 45 minutes. I will return to and recommend Honda of Illinois to others.

From start to finish this was by far the best car buying experience my wife and I have ever had. We have bought vehicles from almost every other dealership in town and have had some real nightmare experiences but not with Honda of Illinois. Drew and Rob really took great care of us and went out of their way to male sure we were satisfied. At first the Honda Pilot we wanted wasn't even on the lot but they found us one in a bout week in another state and were able to secure it for us. All I can say is I will recommend Honda of Illinois to each and every person I talk to, thanks again guys!

We live ~460 miles away from Honda of Illinois. I was interested in trading in my Honda to a used Volvo SUV they had listed at an unbeatable price. To ensure our drive was going to be worth our while, Rob worked with me to get an estimate for my trade in. He asked for pictures and detailed information about my vehicle. Then, he gave me a good trade-in price. At my husband's request, Rob also test drove the used Volvo we were interested in. He gave us an honest assessment on the vehicle and took lots of pictures. He also allowed me to put down a deposit so he can hold the vehicle for us until we could drive down to get it. In the end, our long road trip (even after staying overnight in a hotel) was all worth it! The price of the Volvo we bought can't be beat, plus, it had extra features we weren't expecting.

Paul was amazing, I wish more sales people could be just like him. He took time to explain details about all the cars we were looking at. he was always polite and professional. He recognized us each time we drove up to the dealership, made us feel like we were coming home to family and friends. He walked us around the lot, showed us any car we wanted to see, he did not apply any "pressure" to make a sale. When we dropped a car off from a test drive he just asked if we had any questions, and said thanks and have a nice day. He would follow up later with an email. there was never any pressure. He showed us both Honda and Chevrolet. he knew a lot about not only the cars he was showing us but even the car we were driving, so he could help point out comparisons and differences. In the end we just chose not to buy a Honda but it was not for Paul. We wish we could buy all of our cars from Paul. And we hope we can work with him again in the future.
